My new favorite place! I'm reading the negative reviews with my jaw dropped because we got what was the exact opposite of a bad experience! We walked in and were greeted and seated promptly, our server came right to the table and took our drink order and had it there in no time. We also ordered the white cheese/queso dip and it was DELICIOUS! Our food came within 15 minutes of us sitting down, everything was great! Big portions, and not overly priced. I had the Fajitas (shrimp steak and chicken) the shrimp were plump and delicious and it had really good flavor. The restaurant was clean, staff was prompt and friendly, we will definitely be back again!

The food is great for your run of the mill Mexican. The service, however is terrible. The servers are all running around like they've never worked in a restaurant before. These types of places are typically in-get your food-out fast but not this place. We didn't even see our server after we ordered-no "how is your meal", no refills on drinks, we may even leave before we get the check. I don't think anyone would notice....if you want a good meal in a short amount of time, go someplace else.

The free chips and salsa were great. The salsa is really good. The service was fast, and the food was prepared well. We had the fajitas and the number 5. Everything was very bland. It was good enough to eat, and it was really good food, but this Mexican restaurant is a typical North US Mexican restaurant that has made their food so bland that it really isn't as good as it could be. The atmosphere and service are GREAT!... the food is just too bland.

We started with margarita's which were very good. We placed our order and it was delivered to the table in about 6 minutes! Hot, pleasantly presented by a very attentive server. They chips and salsa were endless and we will definitely return,

I have eaten here before and the staff is always polite and accommodating. Seven of us ate here last Sunday evening and we all enjoyed it. First, the chips and salsa are delicious. Add the white queso dip and a margarita and I could be a very satisfied person. Next, the food came out nice and hot, and my enchilada and chimichanga was everything I expected. No complaints from anybody. We will be back.

Look if you've had decent Mexican , TexMex, New Mexican food; or a good margarita then don't listen to any positive review about this place! The people who are making the positive reviews have no idea. Period... Plus for the majority of the time the service sucks. There was one good server of my 4 or 5 different ones but I think he was just trying to help a brother out. To that one server thank you! To the rest of them and the place as a whole... Well I can't speak my mind or this review would be removed... BTW, Ponchos up the road isn't much better... But it is better!

The food was good and they are very prompt with their service. I am amazed at how quickly they get the food out to you. My family loves going there.

The food was really good and I was very impressed with our server Jonathan even though it was an incredibly busy night.... Queso was delish, chips fresh and all the serving sizes were perfect unlike el crapesino in stow.

Took the day off of work and went geoaching. We decided that other Yelpers liked it so we knew it would be good. First of all, if you don't know where it is, it could be very easy to miss! Keep driving & you will see it! I was BLOWN away by how clean it was! Nothing makes me happier than to be able to smell cleaning products in a home or business! REALLy makes me happy! The server was so freakin' nice & attentive! The quac & salsa were delicious. At this point, I would have been ok if the food wasn't good! But, it was great! We loved our quick lunch! Oh, be sure to use the rest room on the way out- so, so clean! Be sure to check out the geocache in the parking lot:)

My wife and mentioned several times that she heard this is a great place for dinner. So, my wife and I decided we would take our daughter and try it out. We were sat promptly and shortly thereafter received a large bowl of chips and salsa. We waited for quite a while before someone finally came and took our drink order. It appeared that there is been some confusion on who our server was. But once that was figured out the service was fantastic and the food was out very quickly. We will definitely be back for dinner again!

Usually very good..today was not..service was slow (very odd for Mexican..lol) The drink my friend got tasted like watered down lime juice..mine had no alcohol hardly at all :-( We then ordered and asked for cheese dip..well food came..no dip :-( My ordered was wrong and THE smallest chicken burrito ever...my friends ground beef was watery(not appetizing)... Well then the cheese dip came 1/2 way through the meal..Its a shame cause it has a nice patio and never had a prob before...This trip may have sealed the never going back deal for me unfortunately :-(

Went back again, we really want to like this place. Second visit was an even bigger let down on the service than the last. Shouldn't have expected anything better when we were seated at the exact same table again. Started out with quick service as our meals arrived quickly. But that's where it ended. After we finished eating took over twenty minutes and two other waiters stopped to get our check. Turned out our waiter decided to leave without telling anyone. Just. Like. Last. Time. The owners and managers of this place seriously need to step up their employee's service. Would love to say I'll just order take out, but after trying to do a take out order last week I'll pass! Phone got picked up, got to hear the tail end of an X rated conversation only to be mocked and hung up on. Call back and ask to speak to the manager to only be told there's nothing he can do about it. I think I will be taking my business down to El Campesino's in Canton next time. This place is horrible, and the management don't even seem to care!

Standard NEOhio mexican restaurant fare. You'll get plenty of good tasting American-version-of-Mexican-foods here. I like this place better than most similar restaurants because of the ambience here. This is a nice clean, well lit place.

Ummm... I had high expectations are reading the raving reviews... but I can sum up my experience in one word... Bland. The food had almost no flavor... no spice... no substance. Tasted like complete cardboard. Maybe Columbus taco trucks have spoiled me... but I cannot stand over-Americanized Mexican joints. I had hope...but this place failed me. Oh, and there was no hot sauce on the table... so I couldn't even spice it up myself! Salsa left MUCH too be desired, as well. The margarita's lacked any tequila and weren't that tasty... needless to say, I left with an upset stomach and no desire to go back.

A nice, clean fast-food Mexican restaurant. Salsa is great. Chicken enchilada was good. Seemed too pre-prepped and fast to have any authenticity. Excellent service. All foods I tasted were fairly bland -- not distinctive in any way. Inexpensive.

El Fogon is well-hidden, being tucked in by the Regal Theater and TGI Friday's in Green, but hunting it down is worth doing. There are three Mexican food restaurants in Green. There's the old Green favorite Pancho's, which has a nice atmosphere, but high prices on mediocre food. Then there's Mariachi Loco's, which is kind of fun and has a more authentic Mexican atmosphere. It has better tasting food than Pancho's, but a lower-end diner-like feel. It can be fun to watch international soccer games while eating. The real star in Green though, is the newest entry, El Fogon. I believe the food is better than that at Mariachi's and it's clearly better than Pancho's. It has a very nice, clean, modern atmosphere and every time I've been (only 3 times to far), the servers have been excellent. I had 3 excellent beef enchiladas and rice for only $7.50, which is tough to beat, and a surprising price for a place this nice. The location is so well-hidden that they're the third restaurant in this very nice facility in just the three or so years since it was built. I hope they make it, because as long as they're around, I have no desire to eat Mexican anywhere else.

Have eaten at most of the Mexican restaurants in the area, but myself and most of my southern co-workers agree this is the best one in the area. Good salsa and chips when you sit down, and quick friendly service about every time I've been in there. Only complaint is that sometimes the line backs up when you go up to pay and that there are no trash cans outside for receipts/toothpick wrappers. Overall, good place for Mexican in Ohio.

Very good portion sizes. The prices were great "well for some one from Chicago" service was good chips sucked but the beer was cold.

Standard Tex-Mex menu, but what differentiates this spot from the norm is price, cleanliness and a courteous staff. There are quite a few Mexican restaurants local to Akron, but this one is worth the trip and our new favorite. Not to mention it's right next the movie theater.

We are regulars here...Clean, modern and well maintained facility as restaurants go. The Staff is usually over the top friendly and attentive and will often go out of their way to ensure your chips, salsa and drinks are full at all times. The menu here is classic Mexican restaurant fare (not sure but they all use #s for menu items) and is generally pretty good. Most meals come with rice and beans for sides. Mexican Steak Tacos are very good and they make some really tasty guacamole and grilled jalapeños. Not the best Mexican I've ever had, but consistently very good...My only gripes are the quality of the chips/salsa (just ok) and the bar items. Beer is usually not cold enough and Margaritas are the worst I have ever had...like powdered crystal light and tequila versus a real margarita. Not sure why but they don't seem to care much about the bar service, which is puzzling. Best Mexican in the area, all that aside.

I've only ate here once. I plan to go back today to make sure how good it was the first time was no fluke. The rice is very flavorful as well as the refried beans. I can't remember the name of the meal I had but it had to do with a steak which was very tender and flavorful as well. The guac tasted better once I added some pico to it. This place is definitely worth checking out and they have coupons in the Akron Gold Clipper.

I have taken my family here 3 times so far, and taken clients for lunch twice and each time this place impresses me. The food is wonderful and the place is CLEAN. Decor is nice and I will say it again- the place is clean. Right down to the bathrooms. The food is tasty and you know the canned white cheese sauce you get on top of just about anything you order in every other Mexican restaurant? You do not get that same crap here. The cheese is authentic and shredded- NOT the garbage from a can. Sort of hard to find, but well worth searching for.

Decent "Mexican" place. Cheap and good food. Great patio. Good vegetarian selection. The margaritas are a little oddly bright green.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
