I have been to the Bricco in Kent and Akron while visiting home and I love them both! A great appetizer to start with is the Goat Cheese. I'm kind of obsessed with it and I get it every time we go there. The goat cheese is in the center of a bowl with marinara around it and it's super warm and melts right into the marinara as you stir. And it comes with fried pita bread - need I say more? On different occasions I have had the Bolognese pasta and the baked rotini chorizo. There's not much to say because both dishes are delicious! Each time I have had plenty left to take home as well, so the portion sizes are pretty large (which is always a plus). Definitely go here if you are looking for something different! They have a great selection of martinis and wine as well.

Service was slow and scarce... I don't know why I keep returning. The pasta is mediocre, nothing to rave about. The pizza is very thin crust. If you like eating pasta sauce off of bark you are in the right place. I do recommend the white wine sangria. I will also give them a 5 star on the diet coke. P.s. The valet is a tad creepy being 19 with a full "Hilter mustache"

It was good, not spectacular. I had the lentil salad - which was very good and something different. I also had the Tomato+Artichoke soup which was yummy. Service needs work.

Went here with my girlfriend, Sunday after church. The interior design is nice. Mimosa: we got the white cranberry and moscato. It was good. Calamari: This was surprising tasty. It was a mixture of calamari and chorizo, and it had that nice cream, parmesan dressing. I really enjoyed it. It's definitely not a dieting food, but good. Beet (salad): The goat cheese was interesting. It's soft like cream cheese. The dressing was good, white balsamic. Waffle (pizza): In concept it was a good idea. It was too dry. Overall Impression: The meal was a bit under par as a whole, the highlight was the Calamari. I'd try it again though. I think it was the waffle pizza, will try something different next time.

Went here for a late lunch after a business meeting. I ordered the shrimp fetuccini. The sauce had roasted tomatoes in it which were delicious but the shrimp were severely overcooked. They were the consistency of a rubberband. And there were only 3 of them. I think if you're going to put an ingredient in the name of a dish, there should be a significant amount of that item in the actual dish. I also ordered iced tea to drink which was very strongly brewed to the point it was bitter. The waitor was a little weird but he did what was expected so I can't complain about that. Overall, a decent lunch. But if you're looking to impress at a business lunch, go next door to Cilantro.

I was in Akron at a work function and had dinner at Bricco. All in all I was impressed and enjoyed the experience. The location was nice right in down town Akron. Our server was very nice and helpful. I started off with a half spinach salad and it was delicious. It was a tough choice for dinner, but I went with the braised short rib and I was very happy with the meal. The short rib was fabulous and the mashed potatoes and veggies were perfect compliments. Only thing is the serving sizes are really big and I actually could not finish my dinner, which is unusual for me. i would definitely recommend Bricco.

I've been missing good food for some. Do t get to Akron all that often but I had a meeting and we went there for lunch. Wow! Loved my goat cheese and beet salad with an added piece of some the best salmon I've had in a long time. Wasn't terribly busy although it was almost 1:30 so we probably missed the lunch crowd. Will be back for sure!

Delicious. Ordered the chicken and fried Brussels sprouts dish. So awesome and flavorful! Sat outside on the patio. Such a great dinner.

Great spot! We went here late on a Thursday after my niece had her high school graduation at the EJ Thomas Center. Great service, and I was surprised at how good the food was. The walleye fish was perfectly prepared, had the skin on which was crispy but the flesh of the fish was light and flaky. They also had a good whiskey selection which is a bonus for me! I'm never in Akron, but if I am I won't hesitate about eating at this place.

I have been here 3 times now when the neighbors on my block organize a get-together. Their huge menu offers a wide variety of choices. I try to order different types of food each time I'm here. First the appetizers: the ones I ordered were the calamari and the banana peppers. They are not that bad I would definitely order again. Next up entrées: Duck- tasty, I like it. Ribeye- my only complaint is there was too much bleu cheese on top that it overpowered the steak. I had to scraped most of the bleu cheese of the steak. Beef short ribs- This was divine, fall of the bone, lots of flavor. Last, I ordered their special, steak with a house sauce, with roasted vegetables and basil mashed potatoes. Mind you, I cannot recall the exact name but I ordered it because of the basil mashed potatoes. I love basil so much, what can go wrong with it right? Well, the steak didn't really go very well with my taste buds. I did not like the seasoning and there was too much basil on the mash potatoes. It was definitely weird. I felt like I was eating a bunch of fresh basil in my mouth. Well, there you have it, now I haven't ordered any pizza, salad, pasta, or the sandwiches yet so when I do, I'll update. By the way, the servers are wonderful, they accommodate my toddler and always bring her French Fries first before our food arrives.

Having to work on a Sunday, my team chose this restaurant to come to and have a relaxing brunch. I can easily see why, as the parking was convenient, the service attentive (thank you again, Tyler), and the food filling enough that we all felt a nap should have been scheduled afterwards. Some of the highlights had to include the fried pickles, the chorizo pizza (enough sausage and prosciutto there to satisfy any "meat lover" request), and the Mexican burrito. I'm fairly certain the Mexican burrito violated the "don't eat anything bigger than your face" rule, but it was exceedingly well made and included just about everything you could want for breakfast in a neat wrap. About the only thing I wasn't too keen on was the Bloody Mary, as when I asked for 2 pieces of bacon in it, the last thing I would ever have imagined could happen would be that the staff would take the bacon through a food processor instead of just standing up two pieces of bacon in the drink. *shrug* All in all, I found a great new brunch spot, and I look forward to trying Bricco's other mealtimes. Although I should probably not schedule anything too important to do after that meal.

Atmosphere is pretty casual and the food was great for the price point! I'd definitely recommend it for a nice dinner.

Unfortunately, this meal was a complete disaster. We were told it was a good place to go after our sons graduation so we called 1 week in advance for reservations for our large group. We did not have a server for 35 minutes, and that was only after having to go hunt someone down to ask. The meals were scattered and 5 of the 11 person group were left without food for 15 minutes. They completely forgot 2 salads, forgot an entree, and screwed up a wrap that was ordered to hold the sausage. Obviously understaffed, food cold and poorly timed. Left my elderly father without his entree and brought him something different that he hadn't ordered that was burnt like rubber! Feel bad taking our out of town family to such an establishment. Our meal took longer than graduation ceremony! Poor food and service.

After moving from New York to Ohio, I was challenged to find a restaurant that served food that wasn't...junk. People recommended Bricco. Right on main street, relatively high prices...must be good right? Wrong. I ate here once with my mother, both of our meals were pretty lacking of any taste. She ordered a pasta entree and there was hardly any sauce on the pasta. I gave this restaurant a second try and was disappointed both times by overprice, bland-tasting meals. Would not return for a 3rd try.

I don't travel to downtown Akron often despite living in the area, but when I do, I will be sure to stop at Bricco again. Stellar service, personable staff, delicious food, and a drink menu to please a diverse range of pallets. If you're wondering where to go for a great dinner and at more than reasonable price for the quality, look no further than Bricco!

RISOTTO BALLS....to die for! Came in here on a thursday evening with some gfs and we had a GREAT time. We started with the risotto balls which were so so so so so yummy! They were fried balls with risotto with cheese inside over some marinara and basil. I would totally recommend these to start your meal. I had the veggie pizza. It came with mushrooms, carmelized onions, artichokes, tomatoes and this amazing cheese! what a combination- YUM. A few girls got the wedge and the salmon salad. The wedge was seriously the size of two grown men's heads. IT WAS LARGE and awesome. Our waitress was great. Very attentive and gave us a lot of TLC! The portions are very big so you'll most likely have leftovers which you can enjoy the next day :)

There's a lot to like about this place. A diverse menu and comfortable environment. Service was very friendly and professional. That veggie burger though... it totally fell apart the minute I picked it up and was so salty that I couldn't finish it. I love that they include vegetarian options, but this particular dish needs some tweaking.

Classy downtown place. I got the buffalo chicken sandwich and it was pretty good. Reasonable prices, and overall a nice place. That being said, our waiter was kind of weird. I don't really know how to explain it, but he spoke so quietly. I'd definitely go again.

Everytime I've ever been to Bricco the food was wonderful and the service very good. We went on Valentine's Say one year and the specials were fantastic. Also good for lunch.

Came here based upon a Yelp search through the Lexus Enform app in my car. Cool factor! Parking at a meter out front was free, but I didn't know until after I'd paid. Read the signs! I should have. No bearing on the food. My wife and I shared the Goat Cheese with Spicy Marinara and Fried Pita Bread appetizer. Delicious! The leftover pita, after the meal, didn't get left behind. I ate it for dessert! We ordered the shaved strip steak and provolone cheese on toasted Italian bread with au jus and the grilled chicken breast with fresh mozzarella, marinated tomatoes and fresh basil on a brioche bun. We told the server we would split both to share and taste. When the food came, they were already split for us! Nice touch. Both were good and served hot and fresh. My wife didn't finish her halves and we got a "doggy bag" and accidentally left it on the table when we left. We returned about five minutes later and the server had put it aside, in case we returned. Another nice touch. The server (can't remember her name, unfortunately) was VERY nice, friendly and helpful. A definite addition to my list if we're in the area.

I went there late last night with my girlfriend. We stood at the front for awhile and nobody came and greeted us, and there was no sign directing us so we went to the bartender, who sat us. Then it was another couple minutes for our server to come and give us menus, and then about 8 more minutes for him to come back. (It wasn't busy by any means). But after that service was prompt. I got the Cajun chicken and it was delicious and decently priced. I would probably return, but maybe come when they have more people on staff.

  • Michael G.

One of a few downtown places that really give a derivative, try-too-hard impression. Inauthentic is the word, I suppose. Maybe unoriginal? Both? Anyway, the food is pretty good, but not worth the prices. I've eaten here four or five times and have always come away with the same opinion: good but not great.

Bricco is mine and my boyfriend's favorite restaurant in Downtown Akron. I swear if he could eat their wedge salad everyday of his life, he would. The white french dressing is delicious. I love the risotto balls as well as the stuffed pepper appetizers. They could make a meal for us two themselves. The chicken, spinach, tomato and Alfredo pizza is a favorite. Also, the ravioli in the pink sauce with chicken and the Cajun chicken pastas are delicious entrees. I couldn't give it 5 perfect stars because sometimes the waiters don't tell you about the specials so make sure to ask. Go to Bricco, it is delicious.

My son and daughter-in-law choose this restaurant because it was close to the Akron Aeros baseball stadium where we were headed to watch them play. In fact, Bricco's is located in the same block as the stadium. We ordered several of the gourmet pizzas and we all added a salad. Immediately, when my salad was served, I knew this meal was going to be very good. Big Thumbs UP on the salad menu! Soon after, the pizza was served and again, the flavors were very unique and strong, all of which set them apart from a home delivered local pizza for watching football on TV. Again, another THUMBS UP! Additionally, our service was definitely above average and that sure makes a difference which adds to the enjoyment of a great meal. We all liked the privacy of the curved booths along one wall but there are plenty of tables which all have white linen tablecloths and good quality silverware. We had three adults and two children and dinner was under $50.00 I thought the menu prices were very reasonable relative to the quality of the food. I believe most folks would really enjoy a meal at Bricco.

Great place for lunch in downtown Akron. Love the daily specials. Kind of artsy place with interesting pizzas. I do love just about any restaurant that has chorizo on the menu. Lots of glass overlooking main and exchange in downtown Akron. Great view with pretty good food. I don't think anything on the lunch menu is over $13.

My wife and I have been to Bricco many times and have yet to have anything other than a great experience. Service is consistently good to excellent. Food is always amazing. Some favorites are listed below, but special recognition for the goat cheese and marinara appetizer - the fresh pita points and the spicy bite to the cheese an marinara make it a must for anyone passing through. Other favorites include the duck entree, the wedge salad, and the risotto. My wife tells me the pineapple upside-down cake martini is excellent. If you're in downtown Akron and looking for a good spot to try, this is on the short list of places not to miss.

Did not care for the service at all. Possibly due to the server forgetting my order. The pizza I ordered was not that good. I wish I could give this place negative stars. I will never go there again.

We went for restaurant week, which was advertised on the Akron restaurant week website. Upon us asking for the restaurant week special , we were informed it stopped on Thursday not as advertised 8/13/2014. The manager refused to honor their advertisement, I feel this false advertising and I will never patronize this restaurant again.

I suggested Bricco for a business lunch while we had out-of-town visitors to our office. Unfortunately, taking my colleagues here for lunch was an embarrassment. We arrived around 12:20 and were seated promptly. I have eaten dinner here before and had no issues. However, after an hour went by and we were still waiting for our food, we had to ask for it to be packed "to go" because we had to get back to work. Our server just said "sorry about that" but didn't really seem bothered by the situation. I am still giving Bricco 3 stars based on an average of 0 stars for service and 5 stars for the food itself - we all thought out meals tasted excellent (when we eventually got to eat them).

Always great service and food. I try to get something new each visit, but my favorite is the salad with goat cheese, beets and pastichios- so, so good! Take the valet parking, so worth it!

They have a nice pour on drinks and the duck is amazing. I have had a few other things on the menu and it all is good thus so far. I will go back and I do recommend this place to others.

I have given them quite a few chances, but everytime they are disappointing. They consistently have the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I reciently tried to remedy my fix for food by taking it togo, but that apparently just makes the customer service worse. They are absolutely rude beyond all measure. Never again will I return. If I could give them only a half star rating I would.

I love Bricco. The owner Dave has done an amazing job creating a jewel in downtown Akron. I've never had a bad meal here, and I've eaten here probably 20 times. Great wine list, great food, great service. Great evening out for anyone in northeast ohio.

Bricco is a trendy, more upscale restaurant in Downtown. I've only been impressed with it. Since there's a lot to critique I'm going to break it down... Ambiance - 9/10, It's really clean, modern, and in a cool corner location. The bar is separate from the dining area which I liked because it gave it a more upscale feel. Service - 8/10, overall they're pretty good but I have had some servers who have been pretty absent throughout my meal. This past time however I was with a large group (13+) and our server was fantastic. No mistakes, drinks always filled, and a positive attitude! She rocked! Drinks - 6/10, they're decent but pricey and I'm not aware of any specials that they run throughout the week. As a college student, this is the last place I'll come for a martini especially with 3 Points massive martinis at $4 on Mondays. I'm sure the clientel that they are trying to cater too doesn't mind the more expensive drinks but personally I will pass. Food - 10/10, I haven't had one bad food item here! Everything is prepared well and is unique. Love, love, love their wedge salad. I get it every time! They serve it as a half which is a great starter to my meal. Bricco is a win for a nice dinner with friends, family, or a date! Also, for larger groups they have a room available if you make reservations ahead of time which is great!

Well all I can say is that it looks great from the outside. I showed up two minutes after closing (because I had to take a handicapped person home) with a group of 25 already in there as we were celebrating a wonderful performance. They turned me away since it was after closing and even though the others said something, I was still sent away. I would not recommend this place, ever. Not a good way to do business. All they had to say is you are welcome to come in, but the kitchen is closed, and it would have been fine.

Best restaurant in Akron. Everything on the menu is fantastic. You can't miss. Try the calamari and make sure to check out the extensive wine list.

Bricco is the kind of place that suits the many of my moods. Romantic dinner? Check. Catch up with friends? Check. Drinks just because? CHECK! Bricco is suited for many things as you can see. They even have a room in the back which can hold larger parties. There bar area on the weekend is usually packed with well dressed 20-40 somethings enjoying their extensive wine/beer/martini menu. Food I can recommend: crab cake app goat cheese/marinara and pita- SO GOOD. calamari- though sometimes a little too chewy for my liking. risotti in the fall, YUM! As far as pasta dishes I always customize mine and have never had a problem. I love the rigatoni with sausage, caramelized onions, mushrooms and the pink sauce. Overall, a nice place to enjoy dinner no matter what mood you are in.

I have only been here for lunch. The value on the lunch menu is excellent in my opinion with most entrees between $8 and $13. My biggest challenge when eating here is making a selection as so many items look and sound very good. The menu is well written and makes you want to try nearly everything. The pizzas are wood oven baked and are a full12" Enough to feed two people in most cases. The service has always been good and the specials are excellent as well. Not sure about the dinner menu, but based on the lunch menu, I need to make a stop here for dinner in the future.

Nice Italian dinner ! (Good food, nice ambience , polite and prompt service, good list of wine) Bricco offers some life to the Akron downtown. Crowded most days in the otherwise deserted Akron area .

Before going to see Alton Brown at E.J. Thomas Hall, at Akron U., We stopped for dinner at Bricco. It had been on my list for a while, so I was happy to get a chance to check it out. The menu is fairly straightforward. Not what I would call "Italian", in that there are really a lot of other cooking styles in play here. Saying that, they do have pizza and some pasta dishes that could satisfy one's love of Italian food!! While some restaurants sell discounted bottles of wine one night a week, Bricco sells "retail" priced bottles Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday. Very good wine list to boot!! (Ordered a Klinker Brick "Old Vine Zinfandel", well priced at $16.00 a bottle). We had the calamari appetizer and loved it, followed by a shaved roast beef sandwich with yummy rosemary fries. Very good, but really just an updated French Dip sandwich without the au Jus sauce. My friend had the ceasar salad with salmon, and even though it was a 1/2 portion, it was still huge (and very good). Service was terrific and the restaurant was packed, maybe more so because of the Alton Brown event as a lot of people seemed to be going there later that night. Note also, there is free street parking after 6 PM!!

  • Doug W.

I'm giving 4 stars because I like downtown restaurants and Bricco has a cool ambience to it. We were seated in a booth that wasn't particularly comfortable, but it gave us some privacy while still allowing us to people watch. I think next time I will ask for a table though. I had ravioli with italian sausage and tomato cream sauce. It didn't meet my expectations which were rather high. I expected a burst of flavor which wasn't there. For the money, I prefer the pasta dishes at some of the other local Italian places, but I am willing to give other dishes a try here. Service was great and there is a unique enough menu that I will try Bricco again.

Nice place, tatsty looking apps, ok booze selection and a friendly bar staff. Outside of that, the cocktail list was very 21-25 year old sorority girl . . . which, not surprisngly, made up a lot of the clientele that night. Not bad if you're in the neighborhood and want a stoli ras-based cocktail but nothing to warrant a special trip.

Visited Bricco after a recent court filing. I thoroughly enjoyed a great restaurant in downtown Akron that was committed to good food and good service. The starters were delicious, the entrees were great. The service fantastic. I loved their fettuccine with shrimp, and their wine selections were great.

Yikes. My second restaurant experience in Akron, OH for the day left me highly unsatisfied as well. Bricco seems like a popular place with the locals, a sort of quasi-Italian spot to satisfy pasta and pizza cravings, but I've had better food at the Olive Garden or Cheesecake Factory (neither of which I've been to in the past decade). Everything was super salty, way too cheesy, and just...dense. The complimentary bread was blah, the butter was cold, and the margherita pizza was 5 times too thick for this NYC pizza aficionado. Pass!

  • Sean S.

I had the baked penne pasta with italian sausage, banana peppers, mozzarella cheese, carmelized unions, w/ a pink sauce. It was pretty good and more than I could handle in one portion. The sauce was fresh and everything blended well... I would order again. This place is pretty good for the "not your ordinary" dishes, nice atmosphere, friendly staff, and decent prices. A solid choice to try to get away from larger chain restaurants.

We went here on a Thursday night. Not very busy and able to get a table quickly. Service was above average but food is mediocre at best. Party of four ordered several pasta dishes and pizza. They were all okay. Nice atmosphere.

Bricco is fabulous. The food is never a let down, and has always been served hot and fresh each time. The martinis are strong and tasty--just the way I like them! Sitting in the bar tends to be where my friends like to sit, it can be nosier and busier in there, since it's seat yourself, but it still upholds a classy atmosphere. Service tends to be slower than average, but usually accompanied with extra politeness and attentiveness. I would highly recommend making reservations for the weekend, it gets very busy very fast.

  • Katie H.

I have been to Bricco twice now. Both times I have enjoyed my food wholeheartedly. Each time I got a special (one was a goat cheese ravioli with mushrooms I believe) and the most recent time was a snapper over a black bean succotash. As I said, excellent food! Only (minor) complaint is that you should definitely allot time to go. Service doesn't seem slow (they gave us lots of yummy bread to tide us over) but each time it was a 90 minute experience or so.

I went here this past weekend with my wife. The server was almost ok but I kept having to prompt her for refills even though I would purposely leave my empty cup near end of table for a beverage refill. As far as the food I will speak on only what I ate. I had an half salad w blue cheese this was ok but a little over saturated with dressing. I then had the chicken breast with string beans and fried mashed potatoes. None of which were anything to write home about. I really feel that the dish was comparable to Boston Market. I would expect more flavor from a $16 dish. You can get the same from Boston Market and you will have more chicken, more flavor and save $7. I don't mind spending money but this wasn't worth the money.

I'm very jealous of having a place like this. If we had one of these in Toledo I can see where we'd be eating here twice a month or so. Yesterday the wife had a salad and a pizza (sliced tomatoes, basil, parmesan, mozzarella and olive oil). She said her salad was fantastic, very fresh and wonderful flavors. The pizza I can vouch for as I stole a piece. Pizza without a marinara to me isn't pizza, but this was superb! The blend of flavors was fantastic and it was cooked just right which few places do any more. My meal was the crab cake sandwich. The crab cake didn't have a high crab meat content, but I didn't care in the least. The mix of the ingredients was incredable. Even the bun must have been carefully chosen to work with the crab cake. And their fries are amongst the very best, which I call carnival fries from my childhood. And to make it even better, the bill for our two meals was $29!!! They'd get a 5 star rating from me anyway, but how reasonable their prices are is amazing!

I am probably the pickiest eater there is. I'm a vegetarian....that hates most vegetables. I almost took the safe route and got some kind of cheese pasta, but with some persuading I tried the pumpkin ravioli with sage butter and parsnip chips. I still haven't stopped daydreaming about it. It's absolutely delicious and I'm scared to go back and find out it's not a permanent menu item.

Get the duck. A big portion of Duck Breast pan seared which comes with something different every day. So far I have had with with a pear compote and risotto croquette, and with pears, a pesto and lettuce hearts. Delicious every way. Oh and the creme brulee is a great sharing treat!

Dear Bricco, In a land where unique dining experiences are rare, you do a pretty darn good job! I just wanted you to know that you've become like an old friend. When I'm in Akron, I pick you when I want a nice meal but I don't know where else to go. Your service is amazing. Your waitstaff is friendly and efficient. Keep that up. Your prices are fair for the dining experience, and I can really get behind that. Keep that up too. There's something about your pre-dinner bread basket that tastes unique. Your bread is salty in a good way, like pretzel dough, but your butter is sweet. Are you putting sugar in your butter? It kinda reminds me of cookie dough base. Also in a good way. Remember that one time I ordered the duck and it was horrible? I know, duck is hard. But I kinda thought you'd be better at it since you always have a "duck preparation of the day." Maybe it was just a dud. I am pretty much a garbage disposal, so you and I both know how hard it is for me to say I didn't like your duck. While I'm airing my grievances... what's with taking the scallop appetizer off the menu and replacing it with... nachos?! Seriously, what's UP with that, Bricco?! I'm not the kind of person who usually orders the same thing at restaurants, but you became some kind of "comfort food" during my Akron days and I got used to some old stand-bys. Extra dirty gin martini (with sapphire), the scallop appetizer, and the half-wedge salad made bad days at work feel better. In case I've hurt your feelings-- please know that I still love you lots. Love, Catherine J. PS: Your wine list and martini list rock my socks!

I love the food and drinks at Bricco! The bartenders are awesome and make strong drinks (a plus) and the food is unique and awesome! I highly recommend them for a date night!

Stopped by for a pizza & cold beer after the Bonnie Raitt concert at the Civic Theatre. Three employees were hanging out at the front area kibitzing and looking bored. The grilled chicken, spinach, roasted tomatoes, and Asiago cream sauce pizza was tasty and the beer was cold. Fast, courteous service by a serious looking waiter. The bar was full of post-concert customers and regulars. Please repair toilet in the first stall in the ladies' room. The hand written notice on a post-it note (slapped on the stall door) was pretty casual and the line was very long.

Good menu and very nice environment. Service was great as well, however that's pretty much where the positive experience ended. The broccolini was over cooked and devoid of flavor, the sauteed veggies were under cooked, and the filet I ordered came out very rare when I ordered it medium. I've been told that lunch was a much more pleasant experience but the chef at dinner is either very bad or wasn't properly trained.

I promise I'm not romanticizing an experience... I now live in DC, but I've been to Bricco in Akron many, many times since it opened. And for my partner's 30th Birthday with NE Ohio friends we came back and picked Bricco over any others (Lockview, Crave, etc.) because the atmosphere is always nice and the food is always solid. Not this time. I'll just quickly run through the details that matter: The place was pretty empty for a Saturday night, which seemed odd, but at the same time no one was at the front desk to greet us. We had reservations for 15 and the table was ready to go and we go there early (always good!) but that was about as nice as the evening got. Our waiter was completely inattentive, didn't talk to anyone, didn't mention any specials, nothing. He never kept drinks filled--as didn't anyone else--and he got several orders wrong (left shrimp off a salad, got a pizza wrong, put wrong orders in front of the wrong people, etc.). The Manager was even helping and never said a word and I have always found him to be kind and polite and not quiet and dismissive. But tonight was different. My entree was sub-par (scallops and shrimp) with the risotto being cold. Little sauce on anything. My appetizer (usually the highlight of goat cheese and marinara w/ pita) had little to no goat cheese while others had tons. But otherwise was fine. My partner was never offered refills on his Blue Moon--and he was the Birthday boy--and wine orders dragged. I went up to the bartender at one point to get a new beer and I was the only person at their large bar and because I was from a table she was actually reluctant to fill my order. Other people who had been to Bricco were also surprised and disappointed--so it's not like I had some crazy high hopes. And the dessert was just fine at best and also not very cold (cheese cake). I'm not pissed, but I was disappointed. The place was pretty dead and yet I could kinda see why. The menu never really changes and people are bored I'm sure. As are the wait staff and manager. They need true seasonal menus, they need to shake things up a bit and by all means, if we're both the largest party in the room and at least half of the people in your restaurant and we're all buying drinks, keep them coming... we're not fancy people, but we are paying.

Great for a nice dinner, celebration, or night life. Very colorful, fun atmosphere in a prime downtown location. Liked the unique menu--how often do you get an appetizer of nachos that has alfredo and artichokes? The pizzas and salads that came by us all looked and smelled amazing. I had the pan seared scallops and grilled shrimp with apple, bacon and scallion risotto, white wine butter and fresh vegetable . Yes, it was as savory as it sounds. The Napa Valley Cakebread white wine was something I will definitely order/buy again.

Wow, haven't yelped in a minute...but i'd like to welcome myself back. Recently moved to Akron and tried this joint out. I would have given it 1.5 stars if possible, but i rounded down, and that should tell you something...Went with a friend in the mood to eat...we were starving, so we ordered the chorizo/corn/bean dip with chips as an appetizer and it was reeeeeeaaaaal dank (dank = chronny = fantastic). So we chowed that $hit down and were looking forward to the rest of the meal. I got a Patron martini of some sort which was $9.50ish (in Akron, OH????wtf) and it sucked...too sugary, but maybe i just didn't know what the liquor was going in it...anyways, my friend got the veal parm, which he said the veal was dry and the breading burnt and the sauce was whack (ragu-ish)...i got a sausage/chorizo/prosciutto with spicy marina pizza and something was soooo off about it...couldn't even eat a piece... so yeah, sucked. but the appetizer was really good and maybe, just maybe we'll give it a second shot...prolly not though...oh well...

Bricco is FABULOUS. What choices on the menu, if you want a casual but yummy pizza or a gourmet delicious steak or fish entree. You can get an old favorite, or experiment with the creative stuff their chef comes up with! My fav. is the 5 cheese pizza with marinara. Also LOVE the nachos- white cheese sauce, artichokes, kalamata, sausage! The martini list is always entertaining, and I haven't had a bad one yet. 1 or 2 and you'll be out for the count. WOW. The wine and beer lists are fantastic too, leave it to Dave the owner to showcase such great wines! Def one of my top favorite all time spots!

The first time I visited Bricco was for my birthday date with my boyfriend this year. We had passed it before and always wanted to check it out. We got all dressed up and had a great time! I got a pizza with chicken, chorizo bean dip, red peppers, etc. and my boyfriend got a BBQ chicken pizza. They could be considered personal pizzas but they are dense and loaded with amazing toppings. When I want to save more for later (which is always) I get one to myself, but they are perfect for sharing. (Side note: Oddly enough, their pizzas are almost as amazing cold. I know that sounds like a travesty, but it's true.) I have tried several other pizzas and salads here and I have never been disappointed. The food is great. The service is great. This is, pretty much, our go-to date night spot in Akron.

Great menu, food, wine, service, prices... The only thing missing is atmosphere - but hey, it's Akron. Overall, Bricco is a winner. I went to Bricco on a Sunday, which turned out to be retail night for wine. The server helped us decide on a fabulous bottle of Chianti for less than $20. Unfinished bottles can be sealed up and taken home for later. On to the food. I was the only one at the table wanting a beet salad, but the intelligent people of Bricco offer half or whole versions of each salad, so we could each get what we wanted. I can't speak for the others, but the beet salad was A+. Bricco's pizzas are quite substantial, not like those flat artisan-style pizzas easily consumed by one person. The dough is thick and they really pile on the ingredients. The pizzas are listed by their ingredients and don't have cutesy names, but there is one I would call 'the veggie' that I would highly recommend. Thanks to the boursin cheese it was quite distinctive and amazing. No room for dessert. Maybe next time!

This is one of the times where great service puts average food over the top. I came here with a co-worker on a business trip. A rainy, windy evening and we found Downtown Akron pretty empty (the first Miami Heat game with You-Know-Who makes me think everyone was secretly watching, hoping the Heat would lose). Bricco looked warm and inviting. The menu was a nice mix of pizza, pasta, some steak, fish and chicken options, and appetizers. Nothing too exotic, but well-conceived. A pleasant surprise for a Tuesday night is that it's their retail-price wine night, i.e., bottles cost about what you'd pay at the liquor store. Our server recommended a very nice bottle of Spanish red at a ridiculously low price, which was a nice complement to my pizza and my co-worker's pasta. Small salads started off our meal, I had the spinach salad which was dressed in a balsamic vinaigrette, and was comprised of baby spinach leaves, chopped hardboiled eggs, goat cheese, a nice assortment of mushrooms and bacon. The lack of raw onion (red or otherwise) was most welcome. I ordered the tenderloin pizza, sadly they were out of the Boursin cheese which it was supposed to have, but goat cheese made a decent replacement. My co-worker ordered the penne with sausage and banana peppers, which she said was very good. She started the meal with the mixed greens, and was pleased with it. Our server was pleasant, made good recommendations, and made a nice meal better by providing great service.

I thought the atmosphere was nice, with the exception of the creepy mural on the wall. Visit, and you'll know what I mean. Food was good - not overwhelmingly delicious, but definitely good. It was enough to balance out the impersonal waiter - we will likely visit again.

Very good service and good wine/beer selection Beet salad - classic combination with goat cheese, highly recommend! Wedge with blue cheese - great flavors and presentation! Shrimp pasta dish - about what was expected and a generous portion Cheese tortellini - skip it, the menu has much better and unique items.

Bricco is a good place to go for girls' night or a grownup date. Unlike most of the area bars, there isn't a large influx of douchebags and trashy college girls giggling and falling all over one another. I've sampled everything on the menu and find that the salads, pizza, and steak are the best items on the menu. The pizzas are kind of small (on average, they contain four large slices), but they have both unique offerings and traditional pizzas that are all incredible. The steaks are so soft, you can cut them with a butter knife with little to no problem. As for salads, they are extremely filling and the dressings appear to be made at the restaurant and taste like nothing I've had elsewhere (the White Russian dressing is especially good). Desserts change every couple of days and can be hit or miss, but the creme brulee is always available and always amazing. Also good are the homemade ice creams, and any of the special peanut butter creations--and I'm not a very big fan of peanut butter! And for the drinkers--the martinis are easily the best in Akron, and the bartenders are very good at making unique creations off the menu to suit your tastes. All in all, one of the best restaurants/bars downtown for anyone looking for a more sophisticated drink or dinner.

Food beyond excellent, pricing is reasonable, management maybe ownership needs some work. Calamari and goat cheese are a must for starters.

Bricco's food is not fabulous, but the service there is wonderful. When you have a toddler to bring along to restaurants, you start to realize that accommodating service may in fact be worth more than the perfect pasta sauce. Yes, our calamari was slightly less crunchy than we normally like. Yeah, the sausage-something appetizer was slightly too salty. And yeah, my pasta wasn't particularly flavorful. However, none of it was outright bad, and you know what was really good? The paper table coverings my daughter was able to draw on, the fact that they'll mix and match a la carte stuff that isn't listed on the menu for picky kids, and the round booths that are just perfect for trapping a toddler between two adults so as not to terrorize the other customers.

Bricco is my friends', family's & my go-to nice restaurant in the Akron area -- I last went here for my graduation party with out-of-town family & for my friend's 23rd birthday party. The food here is outstanding, & the servers are always friendly. Atmosphere is cute, open, not too quiet but not too loud, perfect for a date or just to meet up with friends. It's a little pricey for the area, but it's totally, totally worth it. If you're looking for an appetizer, you've GOT to go with the risotto balls stuffed with pancetta & smoked mozzarella. For dinners, try any of their pizzas or, my favorite, the rotelle with chorizo, onions, basil & chihuahua cheese sauce. It's absolutely delicious, worth going back for, and it's a HUGE dish, so there's always enough to take home. Oh, wait, did I mention drinks? Don't bother with Fuel across the street, which overcharges for subpar beverages. At bricco, we usually buy a bottle of champagne for the table, but you can also buy it pretty cheaply by the glass, & their mixed drinks (especially their flavored martinis) are great... and STRONG!

Very good stuffed peppers. They have a cool atmosphere. Really like my veal parmigiana! The pizza was ok, not great like I was expecting. The tomatoes were too big and overpowering on the Marg pizza. Either way I really like Bricco and would return for sure!

Went there on New Years Eve, first time there. Our waiter Mike was beyond awesome and friendly, the food was to die for, and this restaurant offers great services such as valet and coat check. Great atmosphere, and great food. While you are there, try the goat cheese and zesty marinara appetizer and cap it off with the chocolate molten cake for dessert. Best on the premises made items, nothing frozen about this place!

I have never understood why Bricco is so popular. I've been there multiple times and have always found the food to range from mediocre to absolutely gross. The drinks and food are way overpriced given the poor quality and the service isn't great either. Do yourself a favor and check out Cilantro, Crave or Lockview. All much better choices!

Discolosure: I have only had lunch here. It was a very quiet Saturday afternoon. However, the service was phenominal and the food was fantastic. My wife and I both had sandwhiches. The fries are hand cut and home-made, the green beans that came with my wife's sandwhich were fresh, freakin' awesome! The lunch prices were very reasonable. I think we got out of there for under $20. Would recommend this place to anybody. Quite the gem.

I visited Bricco twice while I was in Akron recently. This was mostly due to convenience, but the food was pretty good. The contemporary atmosphere makes this a fun place to go with groups. Unfortunately for me, I had a table for one on Saturday night due to being in town for work. While my server never said anything to me, he looked at me with pity the whole meal. All pity aside, the service was great both times I went. My servers were friendly and provided honest meal recommendations. The outside patio is a great place to sit. The food is decent. The spinach salad was fresh and flavorful, but had too much dressing on it for my taste. I tried a pasta dish with veal that was ok, but I really liked the pizza that I tried the next day. The hotel manager highly recommended this restaurant and called it the "best Italian restaurant in Akron." I would go back for the atmosphere alone.

We had a decently priced bottle of good wine, something Argentinian, and a couple of appetizers. Peppers stuffed with risotto and a goat cheese marinara sauce for fried pita chips. Both were excellent. Goat cheese and marinara is not something I would've thought would be good together, but I liked it so much I intend to try it at home! Our service was good as well, very polite and attentive. My only complaint would be the atmosphere- like someone else said. It felt way too bright.

I couldn't decide between two stars and three, but ultimately landed at two because of my latest experience at Bricco. Let me just say, a couple years ago, I tried Bricco for the first time. I was not a vegetarian yet and had ordered tomato soup and the applewood bacon wrapped scallops. I just wanted a little nibble and it was the perfect amount to satisfy me. The soup was creamy and had good balance and the applewood bacon wrapped scallops were to die for. I remember I couldn't shut up about how amazing they were. Then, last year, I had ordered tomato artichoke soup as take out from the Cleveland Bricco. Also delicious. In fact, I think about it every so often and have recommended that particular menu items to people thinking of trying out Bricco. So, for Mother's Day (yesterday,) I thought that it would be a treat to have an actual dinner meal there with my parents and boyfriend at the Akron Bricco. Unfortunately, whatever hype we had heard was unfounded. My father ordered penne with sausage and mushrooms and peppers. My mom tried the artichoke pizza with wild mushrooms, mozzarella, and boursin cheese. I had the rotini with spinach, feta cheese, olives, and roasted tomatoes. My boyfriend got the pumpkin ravioli with parsnip chips. After a significantly long wait, likely 30+ minutes, our food finally came. My father's dish was pretty much penne floating in a soup of grease with pale, sickly looking green peppers. He reached for the salt and pepper several times and still complained of the lack of flavor. My mother's pizza was thick, dense, and also covered in grease. The pizza bread was undercooked and much too doughy. They were sparse with the toppings but much too heavy-handed with the cheese. My rotini was disappointing. The spinach was watery, the tomatoes were certainly not roasted, and it had no flavor, even after a liberal dose of salt and pepper. My boyfriend's ravioli were just as bland and the tomato sauce he had requested was much too sweet. It was too thick, just sitting on the plate like a motionless glob of sugary red... stuff. We were all really disappointed with the food. So much, in fact, we didn't even bother with dessert. Our waiter was nice enough even though it took three requests to get him to bring a glass for my father's beer. The decor isn't too bad, not bothersome, but nothing noteworthy. So, as much as I wanted to award Bricco three stars, the fact that all four of our dishes were complete bombs, I just couldn't bring myself to do so. However, if you do go, go for lunch and have the tomato artichoke soup and select a wine from their great wine list. That's as much as I can vouch for. Save dinner for another restaurant.

Bricco is a great place to go for dinner & drinks for those of us over 21. My fiance and I like to sit in the big velour circle booths and pretend we're our own two-person rat pack. The servers are friendly. My favorite thing about this place though, has to be the PISTACHIO MARTINI. It is soooooo good. It tastes like melted ice cream, and there is no hint of strong alcohol. May they never take it off the drink menu! Speaking of drinks, the boy is quite fond of their Lemon Drop martini, which is apparently hard to make since he can't ever find one he likes. The fact that he likes Bricco's is a higher compliment than I can give, since he is quite a picky-pants when it comes to martinis. Oh, and the food is pretty good, too!

Bricco is a moderately sized restaurant right at the corner of 1 W Exchange St. We arrived for dinner on Sunday around 5:30 and had no problems finding a place to park in the free street parking areas around the restaurant. Just make sure you 'back in' to the spot versus 'pull in' to the spot. The locals warned us the meter folks were rather persnickety about that! Bricco's interior struck me as more contemporary than Italian, but hey, no harm no foul (except the duck on the menu which was great!). We were greeted at the door by the host and immediately seated in a nice booth. The server arrived almost immediately with ice water, and presented us with an extensive beer and cocktail menu, (more limited on wines by the glass). I went with one of their two cabs (Guenoc), she had a chard. Both were good for the price. What struck me as 'nicely done' was after serving the wine, we were asked "Are you ready to order?" After saying "No, we haven't looked at the menu yet" the server kept an eye on the table and didn't keep coming back again and again and again to ask for an order. When we were ready, we looked over at him and he came right to the table. OK, so maybe to a lot of you that isn't a big deal, but when you're sitting there having a great conversation, to be interrupted every 7 minutes or so asking 'Are you ready?' is an annoyance - at least to me. We put in orders for appetizers. Appetizer 1 was Duck on baby spinach salad with fresh melon and mozzarella with a cucumber mint bacon vinaigrette dressing. Appetizer 2 was Anaheim peppers stuffed with Italian sausage and chorizo over house marinara. The server asked "Would you like the kitchen to split those so you can sample each?" Well, yes please! Another nice touch on the service side as when the kitchen plates separately, presentation is spot on versus customers ending up with mangled looking dishes when they try to split their appetizers themselves at the table. Both appetizers were excellent. Special kudos on the duck salad. The duck was prepared perfectly (between pink and red, the outside was perfectly seared) and the flavors of the duck, spinach, melon and the vinaigrette were spot on. What a great combo! Kudos to the chef that created that one! The Anaheim peppers were also delicious! Great blend of pepper, sausage, chorizo and marinara and for me the seasonings were 'just right'. Once again the server left us be and came back only to refill water, and when we looked over at him to take the order for the mains, he was right there. More points for service! It felt like we had our own server. For the main course, we chose the special, which was Bacon wrapped Monk fish with ginger scallion risotto, seaweed salad with sweet soy glaze with pickled asparagus. Time from order to table was great - and then it happened. What was heading to a five star experience took a step sideways or backwards. First the good: The monk fish was cooked almost to perfection as was the bacon wrapped around it. Absolutely wonderful texture and flavors. I like almost any asparagus preparation (shy of creamed), and the pickled asparagus - on its own - was interesting. It just didn't seem to fit in with the rest of the plate - unless the idea was to dramatically offset the flavors of the fish, bacon, and risotto. For me, it was like eating creamy butterscotch or pecan ice cream and meanwhile occasionally taking a bite out of a sour dill pickle. Get what I mean? I'm not sure the pickle makes the ice cream taste better.... I also was not a fan of the seaweed (dry, with a bitter iodine cast) and soy with this dish. The components of sour, bitter, sweet, salty and savory all in broken out components didn't come back together for me on the plate. It was more like a demolition derby of flavors that an orchestra of different sounds. Now with all that being said, it's just the combination of stuff on this one special that I didn't like - the main components (monkfish, bacon, and risotto) were spot on. Overall a solid dining experience, and had I ordered a pizza or steak off the regular menu I might have had nothing but great things to say about my Sunday evening about Bricco. With two glasses of wine, two appetizers and two mains we walked out with a $75 check. Not bad at all in my book. ATMOSPHERE - B+ SERVICE - A+ FOOD - B PRICE - A

Mmmm, Bricco. This is our go-to date place. I've never eaten anything here that's less than very good. The chef has a large variety of pizzas that are different and innovative. Fun drink list, nice selection of entrees. Some would call this place pricey; for us, we pay just as much as going to Outback Steakhouse, with much better food. They have a great wine list, and the bartenders are fun to talk to. The kitchen stay open til pretty late, I think maybe 1am, but the only downside is that there's a club next door whose music you can hear thudding through their shared wall. Not that Bricco is all that quiet to begin with. Do yourself a favor and try this place. Something different and delicious!

I have taken dates here several times. It's a great place for a trying to have a semi-upscale dinner in the middle of a slum town. The decor and atmosphere gives a modern impression and the food is wonderful. It's not the cheapest place in town, but you are paying for good food and a decent atmosphere. Like I said, I usually just go here on dates, but there always seems to be quite a few tables of group-dates or family's. So I'd say its definitely safe for either. Only word of caution is that you are in a mini urban metropolis. Don't give your keys to the guy with a soup can expecting him to valet your car! Or you might be taking the metro back home ;)

We were very pleased to find this restaurant on a recent trip through Akron. It was really fabulous. I had the best salad I have ever had. It had gold and red beets on top of field greens with goat cheese and a white balsamic dressing. It was so tasty. There were enough vegetarian options for my family. I am not sure why so many of these reviews are listed as "not kid friendly". This restaurant didn't have a children's menu but there were plenty of appetizers and entrees that my kids were interested in. The atmosphere is fine for kids. The service was excellent. The bread was fresh and delicious. The drink selection was incredible. If I ever found myself back in Akron I would definitely return. Oh, and best of all, valet parking for $3. Where can you park for $3. Amazing.

My husband and I hadn't been to Bricco in Akron for a couple of years (we've enjoyed the Cleveland location and Pub Bricco more recently). My romantic memory of the Bricco of the past is just that - a memory. Our meals last night were heavy handed with the salt, the ingredients seemed sub-par and the dishes were executed without the finesse I recall from years ago. Even the bread and butter sucked - and since my spouse is on a gluten free diet, I usually dive right in and devour the whole bread basket. The service was fine but we definitely noticed the restaurant was not filled to capacity on the Saturday night before Valentine's day... that should have been our first clue. $75 for two less-than-mediocre entrees with salads and a couple of overly sweet "martinis." In this economy an evening out is a rare treat and I would expect that Bricco would want to draw its customers back with outstanding food. We won't be returning. And sadly, I think that romantic memory is gone as well...

This is my go-to restaurant whenever something special worth celebrating has happened, be it graduations, anniversaries, birthdays, or "just because." Every time I've been to Bricco (probably close to 20), the meal has never disappointed. The appetizers are delicious (the chorizo nachos and the stuffed peppers are two stand-outs). The tomato artichoke is rich, comforting and presents surprisingly complex flavors. As a seafood lover, their fish dishes are not to be missed. The specials all usually sound delicious and diverse (grouper, monkfish, etc.), but there's also a wonderful shellfish pasta with a spicy marina that is one of my favorites. Bricco also has the best crab cakes I've been able to find in the Akron/Cleveland area. Aside from the seafood, the steaks are always a great bet, grilled expertly and served with seasonal side dishes. The thing I love about Bricco is that you can go for a higher end meal, or you can just get a bunch of appetizers or pizzas to share. We've definitely done that on a few occasions. The pizzas I've sampled are terrific, especially the spicy chorizo, italian sausage, and prosciutto pizza. There's also an extensive cocktail list (though many are a tad too "girly" for my liking. I think a martini should just be gin and a splash of vermouth and anything beyond that shouldn't be called a martini). Usually when I go I stick with wine, though their beer list is pretty great. Bricco is a great treasure in Akron, definitely "hip," but with the flavor to back it up!

The kitchen closed at 9 isn't a very convincing excuse at 8:50, especially when I'm asking if you have any dessert. I'm not sure how it's going to take the kitchen 10 minutes to whip up a scoop of ice cream.

I usually really like this place. It's great for a nice date evening or girls night out, but on this last visit with my family for a celebratory dinner, I was somewhat underwhelmed. It seems like no matter what time you go, they are always busy. Good for them, bad for large group tables. My food was good; the pizza was great, the salad had WAY TOO much dressing on it. My husband's steak was VERY over cooked, but kindly they did give us a much better grilled one to take home. The waiter was attentive and pleasant. I was disappointed in either the manager or the host (not sure of his role), but he kept insisting on opening the shade by our table even though it was still quite sunny out and was visibly annoyed when we asked him to shut them (for the adults sake, not the childs; it was very sunny). He came over no more than 10 minutes later and opened them again without saying anything to anyone at the table. When asked again the put them down, we were down-right ignored. We asked the waited to shut the blinds and he did, even saying how surprised he was that they were opened. The man who orginally insisted on opening the blinds could be heard gaufting well across the resturant. This was just an annoyance in the evening. The food took along time to come out, like I said they were quite busy for 4pm. At least, that is the excuse I'm giving them. I would love to give this place more stars, but with the lack of a children's menu, the rude host/manager, and the slowness of the kitchen this is the best I can muster.

I was expecting an expensive evening with minimal satisfaction, as many "New American Cuisine" places try to justify inflated prices with "alternative meals". However, Bricco was everything it should have been: well cooked food at the right place with a lot of choices of what to drink. Any place that has a two column, page long beer menu is a strong starter in my book. The best part about the beer was everything was at bar prices. Not even upscale bar prices. We had an appetizer of stuffed Anaheim peppers which, for two people, was where we should have stopped. We each ate one and were stuffed. However, we had already ordered our entrées, and could not leave without at least tasting our food fresh. I am not a vegetarian. A main course without meat is a salad. But Bricco has a list of pizzas that is far and above any other pizza menu I've seen. When I saw the artichoke heart, mushroom, and caramelized onion and red pepper on boursin and mozzarella cheese pizza, I felt my arteries twitch, and I knew what I had to have. I had one piece (which was more than enough even without the appetizer) and was overwhelmed that such a great tasting, inventive pizza, could cost less than $20. It was a full 10" pizza, and since eating there, I have had 1 piece a day for lunch, not needing anything else. In the future, I may skip the hassle of finding parking downtown and just order a pizza for carry-out, but if the need for a nice dinner out arrives, Bricco will certainly be one of the places I will think of first.

Bricco has been a go to for us for sometime. Great food, group friendly and great martini's.

Went to Bricco with a group of thirteen for an anniversary party. There were some problems and maybe it was owed to the fact that it was a large group. The orders weren't right and someone's balsamic vinegar was rancid. When the orders were correct and there was nothing rancid at the table save my sense of humor, the food was quite good and the portions were certainly impressive. All said, I would go back.

I have been going to Bricco since it opened in 2005 on a regular basis. That means at least 1-2 times a month. I also had my wedding rehearsal dinner here with 25 people and of course it's always amazing! The owner Dave remembers us each time and tries to give us a great table without too much of a wait. It can get busy on the weekends so make a reservation for Friday or Saturday. I always have favorites that are ordered each time (The goat cheese appetizer, the butternut squash salad and some kind of pizza), but it's fun to try the different kinds of martinis and beer selection. We have also come during Wine night, where you get a bottle of wine for half price. Even though there are many other awesome restaurants in Akron, Bricco is "our place" that we choose to have ladies nights, date nights for two, family birthday dinners (not for young children though) and big group party dinners. Even if you want to come late and just go to the bar in the back it's worth it. They have so many different kinds of drinks that there is something for everyone. You can't beat Bricco for any of those events!

When in town for work, this spot was recommended by almost everyone. Apparently it's Akron's go-to restaurant. I had to have one of their pizzas, which lasted me for days. Never fear, I did not let it go to waste! I muched on it for about 3 days straight haha. I know, I'm weird, let it go. But it was that good. Fried pickles - interesting. Tried them once, I don't really need to try them again. The goat cheese and marinara with pita chips app was awesome. I was tempted to take a spoon and lick that bowl clean. An Akron native dining with us eats here weekly and always gets the chicken salad of the day. A little mundane for my tastes, but it must be pretty good!

We had lunch at Bricco several times. They have nice and cozy atmosphere with cool bar area. Very well decorated. Interesting and stylish selection on the menu, unfortunately the food didn't deliver. The food was so-so, not something that will make you go "wow this is really good." There seem to be an issue with inconsistency. Some dishes were too salty, some were too sweet. Need some work on balancing of flavor and texture. The staff were friendly and accommodating though.

Ok I am giving it three stars just because I was in good company. I was really disappointed when I went to this location. We ordered chicken nachos to start...the chicken was slightly undercooked and smelled a little rancid. I have been to the other location and loved it; I will not be returning to this one unless I am forced. We split a pizza that was large and dry and had too many tortilla strips on it. We took half of it home but I ended up leaving it in my back seat overnight. I'm glad I had two glasses of well poured wine. Maybe it was my mood but I did not get a warm feeling from this place at all.

Bricco has a very cute atmosphere. It was a pretty chill quiet place to have a nice dinner with friends and/or a significant other. We had pizzas and they were very good and very big. They have a pretty extensive beer list too.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
