The food was good. My partner and I got garlic-vegi pizza. Im leaving 2stars because of the horrible and racist service I got while dining in with my partner. While the food was good, we left with distasteful experience. The waiter kept ignoring our table overall-horrible racist experience. Never coming back here again.

Stopped in last week and had a wonderful lunch. The meatball sub was Huge! I also brought home a garlic pizza. Service was good.b my friend had the baked ziti and meatballs. She loved it. The portion was so big she took about half of it home. It' my favorite place to eat in the valley area.

This place is AWESOME! Their food is to die for. If you like Meatballs I totally suggest them. My mother in law loves their home made italian dressings. Their fettuccini alfredo is GREAT. If you ask for extra sauce on your carryout they gladly provide it at no cost. The service is really friendly.

Have been going there for years it's had a down hill slide . Food prices are up quality down and service off as well . It's a no more for me prefer to remember what it use to be . It's always a shame to see a favorite go away .

Great food and a family tradition. This place has great Philly cheese steaks, haddock, salads, soups, heck, everything is good here. Luigis is one of the best places to eat in Syracuse.

POOR SERVICE: Upon walking into the restaurant with my buddies, the air conditioner was on full blast, and we kindly requested them to turn it down (it was 92° out, so we all had t-shirts on). Our server told us that the restaurant would warm up naturally, once people started filling up. (Keep in mind we went to the restaurant at the PEAK of lunch time and we were probably one of the two groups in the restaurant.) Point being: it didn't look like there was going to be any more people coming to Luigi's for lunch. My friend decided to turn it down himself, because it was THAT cold. We also waited at least 30 minutes before our server came to us to get our order. FOOD: The food was sub-par, and a bit pricey. Portions are pretty good. They classify themselves as an Italian restaurant, but their pastas and pizzas did not sound appetizing at all. Pizza toppings are limited. (I noticed that pineapple wasn't even on there - being a fairly common topping) OVERALL: Terrible first experience. Would not recommend - servers are impatient, and treat the customers like they're a burden. Any request to the waiters/servers will be received hesitantly.

I'm sad to say this restaurant is one of the places that will receive two stars. Upon arrival my group of friends and I were greeted by no one, and five minutes later only to be asked to be seated in the back, with employees yelling at each other for the delays, flinging blame back and forth. When we were about to be served, the service was inattentive and uncourteous. The general consensus among my group is that we felt we were a burden to the restaurant. After being asked to wait 20 minutes because they were "short-staffed", we finally placed our orders. Another 15 mins later, we received our food. Now, like my previous reviews, I refuse to let negative biases affect my food opinions. However the food was actually just mediocre. The marinara was evidently made out of tomato puree. They get credit for serving hot food. The chicken parmesan was deep fried adequately. 6/10 We had to wait an additional 15 mins to be given checks. When I briefly expressed the waiting we had to do offhandedly but courteously, she held up her hand full of other customers checks, shook her head, and said "look at what I have to deal with." Hang on. Are the staff truly so short-sighted that they fail to recognize that the blame they are placing on their "overburden of customers" is essentially the same as my group and I being blamed? This service is unacceptable. I have no other choice than to suggest Yelpers to avoid this restaurant.

I came here with my entire family for a nice dinner before my Dad went away on a trip. It was amazing and I would come back for more food to try. No one in my family got the pizza and it smelled sooo good that I feel I need to go back so I can try it. The dining rooms are small and we have a large family so we pretty much took over one side. It was really nice that we did take over because no one else was around. It felt private and like we were at home enjoying a meal. The waitress, Terry, was awesome. My family is incredibly hard to please so anyone who can deal with everyone in our family gets two thumbs up from me. We had Columbus bakery bread given to us (If bread is in heaven, I am sure it is Columbus bakery bread) and baseball sized meatballs as well. They gave enough for all of us to enjoy and I was very pleased with the meatballs. We then ordered our dinner, we all had different things and no one complained about their food. I ordered the chicken parm. It was awesome, super cheesy with the perfect amount of sauce and the pasta was on the side. Really the best part of all of our meals was that they give massive portions, and I mean massive. I had it for dinner and the next two lunches. No one felt they even put a dent in their foods and we all worried that the waitress was going to think we didn't like the food but we simply could not expand our stomachs any further. I am pleased with this restaurant and next time I am in the area will most likely request my husband and I get some pizza from here. I highly suggest everyone tries this especially if they like left overs!

This is a nice sort-of Mom & Pop italian restaurant. The owners are very nice people and LOVE making great food for people. Service was good and the food was awesome, big portions. The location seems a bit tricky but shouldn't turn you away for that reason. You'll like this traditional family Italian restaurant, check it out!

I have been a fan of Luigi's for quite a long time, but my recent (9/21/14) experience will prevent me from returning... Although the food was very good,as always, the service is/was less than adequate. We called in and paid for an order totaling 103.00 on SATURDAY afternoon to be picked up on SUNDAY afternoon... 24hrs in advance.... I showed up at 3:20 to pick up the order, which we requested to be ready at 3:30, only to be told that they have no idea what I was talking about. After talking to several people the lady behind the counter FINALLY found my order which had not yet been started, my food was ready to go at 3:55, which caused me to be late for my family function. It's not so much the fact that my food was late that bothered me, it was the attitude of the woman behind the counter... I work too hard for my money to have someone roll their eyes at me and tell me "what can I say... it happens"... I will take my business and my $$ to one of the other fine Italian eateries here in Syracuse, I'm sure someone will appreciate it.

Just ate here today for a family birthday dinner. Not the nicest place (aesthetics), but the food was pretty good. I went basic and had spaghetti and meatballs and it was good. The portions are huge and the meatballs are monstrous. I also tried the chicken and veal parmigianas and they both were fantastic. Could use a remodel or some clean up on the inside. Nice spot, though.

I love this place. They are always accommodating to a large group. Service can get pretty confusing with a lot of people but the people are nice enough to let it slide. The pizza, chicken parm and lasagna are fantastic. Large portions for a reasonable price. Side salads are a little outrageously prices for what you get. Also, surprisingly some of the best calamari and greens in the area.

Very generous portions. I love the linguine with shrimp, clams and broccoli in a white sauce. Casual dining.

I think the food here is just okay, but the restaurant is more of a habit than anything else. I usually go with my best friend when we are home (this tradition started in high school), we always order the baked ziti, and can't finish. Pretty cheap and friendly service.
