Good cheap food and fresh fruit juices. One of few places with table service in the immediate area. Love the beef stew ladled over beans ladled over rice. Great taste and large portion for poquito dinero. Food is salty though, and stew and beans get too salty toward the end of the day. Refreshing fresh-squeezed fruit juices. Don't know anywhere else in the neighborhood serving similar. The physical space sits on an acute city block and opens to both Broadway and Lexington Avenue. Looks like it might have been an old-time soda fountain. Shabby, loud, reasonably clean. Food 7 + ambiance 3 + value 8 + service 6 = overall 6.4 / 10 (decent)

I stopped by for brunch with one of my friends in vacations from Spain, The place is very nice and the food was very good too! The waitress who took my order, Catherine, was amazingly nice! Coming back very soon! :)

Collados is a family owned cafeteria/restaurant serving homestyle hot food six days a week and it's a neighborhood staple for many years for early risers and swing shift workers. It's very clean and a decent spot for the AM commuter rush and afternoon or early evening dinner patrons. Their breakfast sandwiches (egg and cheese with beef sausage) is quite filling and their chicharron de pernil (pork skin) is so good--especially with some yellow rice and black beans.

I got the stewed chicken with white rice and plantains...felt like I was home from the first bite to the last. Their beef empanada rocked my socks off...Excellent food! Great coffee...good service. Only downside - not open Sundays :(

Unequivocally the BEST BREAKFAST I HAVE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE. I ordered the fried flounder, grits, eggs with cheese and coffee. Everything was to die for. The grits were thick just the way I like them (not watery); the eggs with cheese were so beautiful I hated to break them to eat. The flounder was a HUGE PIECE OF FISH that melts in your mouth. I have been here several times. The last time I forgot to tell the waiter that I wanted the eggs over easy and he took them back and was soooo damn nice about it that I wanted to hug him. Speaking of nice ALL of my servers were top of the line. I think the owner served me but you would never know it because he was just a cool dude who made sure everything was to my satisfaction. I'll probably be moving back to Manhattan but it doesn't matter because I'm sure I'll be back for breakfast from time to time. In fact, I'll come back to eat at this joint even if I move to Timbuktu.

Kind of your typcai Spanish/ English hood spot that's usually the spot to go to, well because there's nothing else around (my reason for choosing to eat here.) The menu ranges from American food to Spanish. The space is pretty big but lots of empty tables. The service blows. The waitress had an attitude as if I was stopping her frorm gossiping with the other chicks. She honestly could care less I was there and I could care less about her tip. Honestly, the food is okay, nothing to run back too right away. Oh well!

Great hearty breakfast options. Try the fresh squeezed orange juice. They also deliver. Be advised this place is not open on sundays.

As a Greasy Spoon goes, this place was very good (only went once as of this writing). Went in at 9AM for breakfast. We ordered at the counter, then they brought the food to us. You can actually look at the food before you order it. The staff was friendly and courteous. When you go to a greasy spoon you have to leave your picky opinions at the door. If you enter this place with an open mind you'll enjoy it. I kept it basic with eggs, bacon and home fries. The home fries were good by diner standards, they weren't just sliced and diced in a grid. My dining companion said the rice was very good. Another reviewer mentioned it looks like it might have been a soda-fountain joint back in the day. It did have that appearance. It was a cool looking dive with a lot of atmosphere. There were some funny regulars at the counter seats. If you're out with mom and pop and looking to have a leisurely diner experience, you might want to go elsewhere. But if you're in Bushwick and you're looking for a fast breakfast with coffee, this is a good place to go.

Stopped here for lunch while in town for work. The menu I was given made me a little skeptical that I would find anything I liked, but I was encouraged to go in and check it out. I had rotissiere chicken, rice/beans, and steamed veggies. The guy behind the counter hacked up my chicken nicely and put it over the rice and jammed the veggies in there too. I was shocked how much food they crammed in that little container. Everything tasted pretty good and I was happy I gave them a chance. I love these little places. When in town, I'd probably go back again.

On my way to work I stopped in to order bacon egg and cheese on a bagel. The bagel and the bacon was so hard. The sandwich was nasty...a waste of $4. My first and last visit.
