Best pizza in the 'Konkoma. I've been here countless times and have not been disappointed. For a Midwestern girl who is obsessed with NY pizza, Gino's always has a slice for me. They are dependable and consistent- they always keep the same specialty pizzas ready in the case, so you can be sure they have your fave on hand. The sesame crust adds a nice touch to the tasty slices. Go with the caprese! The staff is always very friendly, too, and pleasant on the eyes .

Gino is really good...nothing more to say everything is great

Quite simply a delectable slice of pizza. Even though there are many great pizzerias in the pizza belt, this place stands out from the rest. Not too greasy and overly cheesy like jersey. A thin crust cooked to perfection. It will be a true test of my will power to not have too much pizza from Gino and friends.

On Long Island pizza by the slice is part of life. It is a delicious pleasure we partake in block by block. But when you find the right combination of a crunchy bottom + gooey cheese. My God. Visiting Long Island, where I grew up, I have been eating my way strip mall by strip mall. Gino's has been on my to-do list for about twenty years. Yes. While conveniently located near Sachem high school (*my* high school) I never quite made it there. Yesterday my Dad and I finally had time. I'm so glad we did. The location is brightly lit, absurdly clean and (and !) serves beer. And wine. The pizza crust is delightful. The crunch satisfying. The cheese a heavenly balance of something you simply want more of. I loved. it. My Dad loved it. I'm trying to convince my Mom we should eat pizza for breakfast. But perhaps I'll just sneak out... My expectations were set in the middle range as - full disclosure - I babysat all four of Gino's soccer playing kids. I figured, "Eh, pizza." But Gino hails from Italy. And in Italy they apparently know something about pizza.

Grandma pizza was pretty good - a bit salty. The restaurant has nice outdoor seating. We were able to enjoy the nice weather. Staff is very friendly!

Gino's is our go-to for pizza. You might not think so, but it can be tricky to find an over-the-top killer take-out pizza joint on long island. Gino's is that place. Everyone sings the praises of Little Vincent's up the road but we ordered from there exactly once in the 9 years we have lived in the area and that was one time too many. Overhyped, undercooked and bland. But that's a story for a different review. Gino's is stellar. It's just perfect NY pie. Crunchy on the bottom (what is worse than soggy pizza? Please tell me.) , lots of stretchy, real cheese and a delicious pizza sauce. Simple perfection. I have never once called to place an order and not heard total chaos in the background. This place is consistently busier than hell and with good reason...and yet, when you come to pick up your order, they are always friendly, joking, energetic and seem stoked to be there even though there are like nine hundred million people in there trying to feed their faces. Love that. I'm super intrigued by the specialty pies I see behind the glass but I always end up just ordering the standard cheese pie or adding fresh garllc if we're feeling feisty. The knots are almost always perfect too...crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside with oily, buttery, garlicky yum dripping off them. I think I got a burnt batch like once. Whatever, it happens. There are a couple of other good pizza joints in the neighborhood so we do try and mix it up every once in awhile but we always come back to Gino's.

I am in the area, visiting from out of country, so I have been relying on a Yelp to help me try local food and dinner places. After reading the reviews, I thought I would give this place a go. The moment I walked into Gino's Pizzeria I was hit with the scents of rich tomato and pizza, it was pleasant to arrive in a store that didn't reek of fat and grease. The store was clean and not overly crowded or busy, especially for 12:30 - which I assumed would be a lunch time rush. The decor is simple, and not overbearing - to me, it is a comfortable atmosphere and I would happily eat in here. At first it was a tad difficult finding the menu, the man at the counter pointed out the small printed menus. The lack of signage was a tad bothersome, but the staff were quick to help. The smell encouraged me to order a large cheese pizza rather than a quick single slice which I had originally planned. The gourmet pizzas in the front counter look appetizing but a tad old, I would rather a fresh pizza, which is what I ordered to go. The men behind the counter seem friendly outgoing and have an overall positive demeanor. On to the pizza itself: I ordered a large cheese pizza for $13.35 and was told there would be a ten minute wait. Pizza came out on time! The crust and base was crisp, the tomato sauce is rich and fresh the cheese was good, not fantastic. I believe even a basic cheese pizza should have at least a handful of basil thrown on to add to taste. I was still happy with the pizza, as the sauce definitely added to the overall taste. It was definitely enjoyable - enough for me to come back in the future if I ever find myself up this way again!

I'd give this place zero stars if i could. I ordered two Caprese slices, garlic knots and a garden salad. Wow, all around terrible. I could care less about pricing as long as it good. The slices were gross i ate one slice and threw the other one out. They placed the garlic knots in the pizza box with the slices litterally drenched in balsmic vinger. I never though someone could make a bad garlic knot till today (it was alll salt). The salad... i wont even get into that. Do not eat here. Delivery however was quick. That was the only pro about this place.

I am a pizza nerd and the food was ok but I wasn't keen on my first experience here. I went to another spot that was closed for the holidays, and so I decided to try Gino's. When I came in, I was a little overwhelmed with the gourmet options. It's nothing I'm not used to at yuppie places in Boston or Connecticut but... it's pretty fancy for a Long Island place. I was asked what I wanted while the gentleman was still wrapping up the order for the family in front of me. I told him I needed a second, basically to determine what everything was since there's no signs or info in the case. After a minute he just asked me again. I had skimmed Yelp and decided I'd give it a shot. As Yelpers recommended, i ordered a slice of margherita. I also (despite not seeing a regular cheese or roni pie anywhere) ordered a roni slice. The margherita with the sesame seed crust, fresh mozzarella, basil pesto and plum tomato is great. Again, nothing that I haven't had a similar version of elsewhere but... good. Worth getting for sure. The roni slice violated a cardinal rule of decent pizza... it was a regular cheese slice with roni slices thrown on as it enters the oven for a quick reheat. When I come across this method I have to assume it's because either: a. the owner or manager is too cheap to make roni and cheese slice pies, just in case they end up having to pitch leftover slices. b. the person who made it doesn't eat pepperoni and understand that it should be more cooked, offer more texture, and have its flavor integrated into (not dropped onto) the pizza. c. the person just doesn't know anything about pizza in general, or maybe they're new. Regardless, I find that infinitely frustrating, and on top of it the slice was bland. It reminded me of Sbarro's in a mall food court. They also took bland regular cheese slices, dropped roni on them, and called them "New York pizza." But alas, it's a big letdown. Ultimately, I am willing to concede that the service is the result of being busy for the holiday weekend, that the gourmet slices are pretty good, and that the garlic knots and pinwheels and other specialties looked great. But... they failed at basic pizza slices which is what a lot of people want from a local pizza place. And the prices are a bit high for the area which I find surprising given the regular slice quality and the pushy service. I may go back but for $20/pie for a lot of the gourmet pies (many higher), I might just take chances elsewhere.

So I walked in here one night after work to grab some grub. I was looking for something inexpensive and quick so I figured pizza. There's a million pizza joints within a mile of here and since I hadn't been here sine high school, I figured why not. Well, while I was eating my 2 slices (white and forgot what the other was) I was adding it up in my head and figuring how the hell this meal can add up to $13. I had thought the cashier made a mistake. So I kindly went back to the counter and asked how much each slice and the drink were seperately. They were right. I believe is was $4.25 or $4.5 for their gourmet slice. WTF! That's worse than manhattan. Pizza was good bit way way way way way way way overpriced. Unless the kid behind the counter was adding extra $$ for his own pocket. Needless to say I haven't been back.

I've been to Gino's many many times with a few of my boys from howard beach. The food was very good. The people that work there aren't bad guys. But of course good things always come to an end. I come out to ronkonkoma to visit my girlfriend and she orders a meal from Gino's. Delivery time was great no problems but the little delivery boy had a real attitude problem and he's very very lucky he didn't get the pizza and the rest of the food dumped over his little punk head along with a few size twelves up his ass and wedged in his face. It only takes one time to give me a bad taste in my mouth not to go back to a business. I look at it this way people want to be rude and have a attitude I'll be more then happy to go else were and hand over my money to a restaurant that will be thankful and polite. If people want a attitude or problems while ordering or going out to dinner then they should go to mc Donald's

The Brooklyn Pizza is phenomenal. The guys behind the counter are nice and efficient. You can tell from the clientele that this is a neighborhood favorite!

Great variety and very delicious. Much better than the herald Little Vincents. Pizza is always freshly made. I love the white pizza, the best I ever had. The Margarita pie is also outstanding.

Ginos pizza is the best in the area hands down....the sauce is great it has a distinctly fresh seasoned taste which makes the pie unique I have to assume that all their ingredients are fresh and of high quality due to the simple fact that everything I eat there is awesome. Their calzones and knots are also great....BUT they are very very highly priced but if your in the mood for a good pie its worth every penny.....

There's a lot of really good pizzerias in the Lake Ronkonkoma area, and Gino's is definitely among the best. I can't deny the accusations from some other reviewers that they are more expensive than other local pizzerias, and that they don't often have coupons or specials. You get what you pay for, and apparently the rest of their customer base agrees -- the place is constantly packed. Their round pies are excellent and their Sicilian pies are out of this world, but where they really shine is with their excellent selection of specialty slices. Their chicken parm pizza is the best I've ever had (if you want to make the best even better, take it with broccoli and add a good hot sauce). Their buffalo chicken slice, while light on the heat, has a bleu cheese flavor that's really subtle and not too tangy or overpowering. The pesto margherita is a combination of flavors you're not likely to find anywhere else. I won't comment much on the dinners -- they're above-average quality, owing largely to their excellent sauce, but ordering them is like going to Five Guys for a hot dog. You'll get something good, but you're really missing out on the reason people go there in the first place. Highly recommended.

This place has built a reputation among locals as having the best pizza around ... and there are times when I can't dispute that claim. Their pizza sauce is about as distinctive and tasty as it comes (I've heard they use carrots in the sauce ... no, it's really good!), and their staff is nice. But their prices are high, even by LI standards (about $14 for a large plain pizza pie, $16 for a Sicilian (rectangular) pie, and over $3 for a topping). You can argue that "you get what you pay for", but I have had more overcooked -- and even burnt -- pizza from Gino's than every other pizzeria I've been to combined. And despite a loyal, large customer base, they don't give any discounts for large orders or regulars, never put out coupons, etc. Sometimes the pizza is excellent, but the quality is very inconsistent. The place is relatively small, so you wouldn't want to eat there, especially if you have a medium-to-large group, but they do deliver.

By far the best pizza in the area. The sauce is sweet, but not too sweet, has a perfect crust and they are never shy with their toppings. My favorite pizza is green peppers, onions and sausage. I also recommend their chicken parm pizza. The service is quick, friendly and they are on a first name basis with the majority of their customers. I would give Gino's 5 Stars, however I feel the size of their pizzas could be slightly larger.

  • Jeff G.

I was debating whether to give this 3 or 4 stars. The pizza here is good. The sauce is well made and taste fresh. There is a large selection (large selection for a local pizzeria and not a yuppy speciality shop) of gourmet slices. What turned me off is the price. For 2 slices (1 gourmet and one plain old Sicilian) and 2 sodas it was $11. The Sicilian slice wasn't huge either. Was the food good? Yes, without a doubt. But beware, it's not cheap. All in all, I'd come again.

Best pizza in the area! The regular pie is a little salty, but I can overlook that since there is much cheesy goodness and great sauce, which to me, either makes or breaks a good pie. I don't order a mushroom pizza. The mushrooms taste rubbery, like they aren't fresh, maybe out of a can. I just wish they would change that and use fresh mushrooms! (Hope you're listening, Gino's owners!) While the cost of a plain pie is a bit pricey ($14.50) it really is worth the price - it's just that good.

I am a big fan of Gino's, It is one of the places i frequent. I have been in there litterly 100s of times over the years. You know the song from cheers, Where every one knows your name?. That is Gino's, i walk in i always get a big hello from all with a hi al or hi Alan. It is a family owned and operated business which is nice. Gino and his sons all work there and are always great. I have had Sicilian, Grandma, regular & pepperoni pizza, I have never been disappointed. The garlic nots are great as well. I have gone there numerous times and have gotten chicken ptarmigan heros which are also outstanding' If you are in the area stop in at Gino's you wont be disappointed.

Good solid neighborhood pizza and Italian food. I had the pizza and it was pretty good: decent dough pie not too thin and not too thick with a chunk of molten cheese. While the pizza is good, not great but yummy enough for me to be back. They also have the quite a few pasta dishes which I hope to try next time. The place is clean but I did see a huge pile of garlic knots pre-made and stacked in their containers on top of each other without their lids. It seemed like the whole day's worth pre-cooked in the early morning. What's up with that? While it may save them time, I'm sure they know that mass made and poorly stored is wonderfully appetizing to anyone who sees them from the counter! But for that, everything else was good. if you like a medium thick crust pizza then Gino's is the place. If you like 'em thin crust like I do sometimes, Lil Vincent down the road will do the trick. It's great to have good choices locally.

Although I am obsessed with Gino's of Nesconset, I absolutely LOVE this place too. Just had it for the first time the other night and I will definitely be back. I had a slice with fresh mozzarella and red peppers- literally the best thing ever. The phones were ringing off the hook and people were walking in and out every 5 seconds. They are super-busy but they help you right away and the staff was very friendly. Not sure if both locations are affiliated but I can't say enough good things!

Gino's has dropped 2 stars for me. They have been consistently inconsistent for about 6 months now. I never went to a restaurant that is so hot and cold as this place is. Crispy and great flavor one day and soggy and bland the next. To top it all off, the last time I called I was told they would be no longer taking credit cards. If your food is good enough that you can inconvenience the customer by not taking credit cards then go for it but they picked a bad time for it. Time to find a new place.

Love this place. Their pizza and heroes are excellent. Their sauce is really good, which to me is what sets this place apart from the other local spots.

Oh this place is good...really good. I eat pizza more than the average person so I know what I'm talking about. I'm also on the road a lot for work so stopping for lunch is often necessary. I actually route my entire work week around how I can get to Gino's for lunch. Honestly this place is a 10! There's not a bad slice in the place and the rice balls are killer. Free tip: If the tall skinny blonde guy that looks like timberlake is behind the counter strike up a conversation...this guy is hilarious!

  • Nick K.

Great pizza, but I can't give them 4 stars due to the last time I got my pizza delivered to me, the delivery man said that I was being "cut out" of the delivery area because Gino's is updating their website (?) as per what the owner told him to say to me. So a pizzeria located in Ronkonkoma, will not deliver a place in Ronkonkoma (8 minute drive to and from) is a little ridiculous.

  • Kevin S.

It's hit or miss. When its good its good and when it's bad it still ok. Servers are friendly and the food can get a little pricey but not a bad place for a fast bite.

Best pizza in the area no doubt. All the guys behind the counter are extremely friendly. Place gets packed on Friday and Saturday nights

This pizza is the best pizza I've ever had in my opinion. While I'm local I do work in Brooklyn and I've tried pizza from other places all over the city and none compete. The staff is great and the prices are about what you'd expect out of a pizzeria. Ask for it well done and you won't be disappointed!

Great place for slices. Their sesame pesto slices are the best. Little pricey for a pie and delivery but overall a great pizza place.

I travel out-east often and never miss an opportunity to stop by Gino's. I live in Brooklyn, NY but there's only one "Brooklyn Slice" in my world...its at Gino's of Lake Ronkonkoma. The counter guys are always friendly and the pizza is always fresh. We have been been stopping by for years and recently had two celebration events catered by Gino's, the food was perfect and affordable. My wife and I are looking forward to our next visit and excited for the new pizza creations these guys think of. One word of advice: If you see a fresh sicilian pie come out of the oven, get a slice, ask them to cut it in half and split it with a friend for a quick appetizer...
