I love this location .. Its very clean , no bums , friendly service and great hot food !! Cant get any better than that ! I used to love the location on Myrtle & Broadway , but this location blows that one out of the water ! I live closer to the Myrtle & Broadway Popeyes but I travel the extra distance to go to this one because its just that good ! (:

Get the regular sweet tea! Yum! The chicken is always hot, the sides are good too. They have changed the layout of the restaurant a bit and updated the decor. It's more modern. Perhaps they are under new management, because when I asked to subsitute a side of potatoes instead of french fries, I was told no, "That' s not allowed!" Eh, I wasn't too happy with that. But overall I have had decent experiences at this location. They can pick up the pace a bit!

Popeye's and low-rent neighborhoods go together like a spinach loving sailor and an italian cooking staple. Interestingly enough, the chicken chain has distanced themselves from their gravel-voiced namesake, and instead focused on sending their message with insulting catch-phrases that go something like "love me some chicken" and "Popeyes is be good flava." Now, don't get me wrong, Popeye's is one of my favorite fast food chains. That doesn't say too much because I try not to eat fast food too often. But still, there is a strange charm about the place, and I do love their style. I don't usually get the fried chicken when I go, but I have been known to enjoy their sandwiches... especially a storied sandwich from long ago called the 'po boy. Now at one point in my life when I lived in CT, the Po Boy was the holy grail of late-night food. There was one that I would pass after a night out in New Haven, and if we got there before 12, we could feast on this legendary treat. What's that? I can get a better, more authentic 'Po Boy elsewhere? That's missing the point, Popeye's seasonings, the soft bread, the pickles and the walk-up window made for some legendary times. Anyhow, my bliss was not long lived. At some point, at Popeye's sprawling world headquarters campus down in the bayou (don't let anyone tell you otherwise), the great sultan of seasoning Monseur Pop-ie, declared that the Po Boy was no more, and would be replaced by generic chicken sandwich faux-boys. This was a sad day. Although this transition happened long before I moved to Brooklyn, I do stop at this particular Popeye's now and then, since it is, so to speak, the only game in town, and conveniently located near my subway stop. So why review a particular branch? Well, this isn't just any Popeye's. While some of the space-age outlets in Manhattan offer magical cash registers that wheel and deal for additional biscuits, wings and rice, this particular Popeye's differentiates itself by keeping a band of beggars on staff. These experts will pick the most opportune time to ask for your money, as you get your change handed to you. Try telling a bum you have no change after the cashier hands you a stack of shiny quarters. This Popeye's gets a generous three stars thanks to its convenient location, innovative coin management, and my nostalgia for times long passed.

I introduced my boyfriend to Popeye's food at this location maybe three weeks ago, and I'm glad I did, because the food was hot, fresh and scrumptious! I also want to give a shoutout to the girl on the register (her name is a synonym of "fate"). She was the best! The menu was on a tv screen and we were crazy hungover and confused by it, but she was super patient with us and helped us find the items we were looking for. She was super sweet and even wrapped up our items that we couldn't finish.

I LOVEEE Popeye's! No matter what, this location never fails. Their chicken is always so nice and juicy. You get nicely done sides. Can't ask for more! If you're in the area, definitely stop by and get your fried chicken on!

It's Popeye's, its not going to be a surprise to anyone. Its fast-food Fried Chicken. However. I LOVE this place. Other than the bums and the somewhat shady clientele or the occasional surly employee, In general this place is awesome. Late night in the LES, coming back on the J...stop at the popeyes and you've got the best drunk muchie food in the world. I have a bit of a penchant for fried chicken in general and i go to all of the more high end places with the good stuff....Pies and thighs, Brooklyn Bowl etc... This Popeyes gives any place a run for their money. I love it.

I miss the Po'Boy Sandwich, too. I used to work at Popeye's when I was 16, and worked at this particular one when I was about 18. I miss the Po'Boys dearly and stopped eating Popeyes all the time because they no longer carry PO'Boys =[. I just wish they would bring it back -sigh-.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
