Call me a 'newbie' but I recently had an epiphany and visited my first Cracker Barrel restaurant. Cracker Barrel regulars tell me every establishment has the exact same set up and vibe. We arrived with a large group (11 in total) at 11:30am and were seated quickly and efficiently. Breakfast is available at all hours, the lunch/ dinner was also available. Their menu is EXPANSIVE with something to satisfy all tastes. For the price, I'm not sure any diner or other similar restaurant can equal the value / quality offered by Cracker Barrel. When doing a road trip, I won't pass another Cracker Barrel sign without stopping. Good value, good service, good quality / tasty food. If your table isn't immediately ready sit out front in a wooden rocker and relax, you'll be called and have a satisfied belly shortly.

It's just like grandma's house! That is, if grandma collected junk manufactured by exploited Vietnamese labor earning 52 cents an hour, she didn't clean her bathrooms and entertained an endless stream of obese visitors. My family loves these places but I find them so depressing that I generally hang out in the parking lot with the dog. Occasionally they will return with a biscuit (which are quite good) then I'll run the souvenir-gauntlet to use the bathroom...and wish I didn't. Apparently the food creates such a mass gastric incident that it overwhelms the ability of contemporary plumbing to manage it. So, a star for the parking lot, biscuits and the always-courteous staff. And a star on behalf of the rest of my family. Finally, a wish upon those stars that places like this represent the nadir of civilization and it finally improves from here!

Mmm, Harvest Breakfast Sampler...ham and bacon and more ham and eggs and apples and sausage and homefry casserole and apple raisin square and biscuits and sawmill gravy and...grits!? OK, I don't like grits, but my arteries are hardening and my mouth is salivating just thinking about the Harvest Breakfast Sampler. Yum!! This CB, like all others, was great. Great service, great food, just great. A nice respite from our 6 hour journey to the Adirondacks.

Went there twice on a recent trip, pretty good both times. A nice location that is not typically too crowded so you can choose your spot. Very friendly staff with excellent service. A little disappointed that the biscuits both times came out fairly hard/overdone when I asked for them soft and fresh and told them I would wait longer for a new batch if necessary - other locations usually handle this request. Again, great service though and quality food and will go back.

I can't get enough of Cracker Barrel. It's one of those guilty pleasures when you are on the road. Every Cracker Barrel is identical. You know what you're in for and it's always the same. I've been a few times and I always get the chicken and dumplings! The service is friendly and the food is almost like eating at grandma's. Even the plate of food looks suburban, one stop away from a tv dinner. After the meal, I am more than happy to have dessert by way of shopping at the general store. Things I can't leave Cracker Barrel without buying: 1. Box of Sweet Potato Pancakes: These pancakes are so much better than Betty Crocker and Aunt Jemima. They are sweet and almost taste nutty. 2. Moon Pies: There are a bunch of different flavors. I buy a box of regular chocolate and one banana. I try to give some away as presents but then I end up eating them all by myself. Put in the microwave for a warm treat. 3. Candy: Do you like gummies? Hard candy? Chocolate? I dare you to leave here empty handed. 4. Presents: Cracker Barrel is filled with junk and I can't help but browse it all. There are some good sales and for someone with unique tastes or a theme room (like beachy or country) this is a good place to add to their decor. Oh, they also have patio furniture and rocking chairs. That's good for people with houses, not people who live in NYC apartments. Keep the chairs, Cracker Barrel, I'll take the food.

Had lunch/dinner with 8 people including my self and over all really wasn't bad all. Waitress could have been alittle more attentive. Bill only came out to just shy of $100. Which is pretty good for 8 people. Have no real complaints or bad comments.

Well, the server came up to the table and started the conversation with "Hey Ladies!". I was with my boyfriend. Lucky for the server, he was just the guy who brought the food out and not the actual waitstaff. If he had been our waiter, I'm pretty sure we wouldn't have tipped at all. As far as the food, it was very meh and average. I've been here before a few times and never been overly impressed with the service or the food quality. The biggest plus is that they have real maple syrup. Today I asked for eggs over easy, they were not over easy and for white toast lightly toasted, and my toast ended up coming out black.

My wife and I love Cracker Barrel! For the past four years we have driven from NYC to Montreal along I-87. This store is the halfway point. We stop here on the way up and the way back. Always have good friendly service, from the greeter to the hostess to the server to the cashier It's always clean and welcoming. This year Caitlin B was our server both ways and she was great! Smiling and quick with the food, she even wished us luck on our lottery scratch-offs. We will see you next year Caitlin!

This past weekend was my 2nd time trying the famous Cracker Barrel. I'd always see signs for it whenever I was traveling up north and always wondered how it was. During my first experience a couple years back, I wasn't so pleased after trying one of their breakfast platters. It was just "okay" for me and frankly I LOVE IHOP, so it was hard not to compare. I mean breakfast is breakfast and I figured I'd love it anywhere but I was wrong. I found myself comparing the whole time to IHOP thinking "at IHOP it would be like this" or "at IHOP it would be done this way". After that "meh" experience, I hadn't planned to return but on my recent trip to Montreal, I was with one of my homegirls who absolutely loves this place and on our way back home, she was really looking forward to eat here so we did. This time around, I wanted to stay away from breakfast. Instead I ordered something from their Lunch menu; I went for their Country Fried Steak after hearing it was good from my homegirl. It was their Sunday special. I was able to choose 3 vegetables which I chose Green String Beans, Mash, and Corn. This also came with a Biscuit and what I thought was a Corn Muffin but it was more salty than sweet. Although the meal was better than the breakfast I had a couple years back, it was still just okay for me. Our servers were super friendly and sweet though!

HUGE FAN of CRACKLE BARREL !!! Size to dollar value is freaking amazing - try the sampler - you get a slice of meatloaf, chicken and dumplings, and choice or country or sugar ham (always get country ham) - plus three sides, biscuit and cornbread. Holy crap, talk abut stuffing yourself silly. Its like a party in your mouth. The staff is friendly, unlimited refills on soda/tea, and the check arrives while you are dining so there is no long wait. You pay at the general store where you enter through. The general store is stocked with goodies from candies, clothing, candles, seasonal treats and grocery goodies from the restaurant you can make at home. Secret: ask for apple butter !!! It will change your life.

Normally I try to stay away from chain restaurants but Cracker Barrel has two big draws. Hashbrown Casserole and All day Breakfast. Unfortunately that's all they really have to offer. Like everywhere else in Clifton Park they are always busy so we had to wait for a table. The menu is a little more diverse than average. And they also offer turkey sausage. Too bad its just frozen jimmy dean patties. Service is decent and the food is ok, but nothing to get excited over. The Country Store also stocks Cheerwine, which is hard to come by this far North.

life changing experience. Sunday fried chicken in awesome!!!!! country fried steak is great. the sides are fantastic. I ate everything in front of me and felt like a million bucks. waitress was super sweet, attentive and overall great. I wish this place was closer to where I live.

Another chain in another suburb. They do what they consistently. I guess my usual meal here has become the grilled catfish. Was there for dinner with my fiance and grandma. The service was extremely slow, and we were told they had four people call in. When cashing out the manager was at the register when I had told the cashier about our slower service. He was apologetic, and I always feel bad giving criticism to the employees. But in the end, that's how places improve. I digress, the food was alright. Somewhat bland, but the market they cater to seems to enjoy it. We were only given three biscuits, no cornbread. When asked for a refill, it never came. They were out of hot chocolate.

Always good, probably not good for me but love it nonetheless. Reasonably priced and dependable. I especially enjoy the country fried steak. We always stop at least one Cracker Barrel on every trip. Breakfast all day, always something the kids will like, low to moderate price. Certainly not Top Chef stuff here but I also do not recall ever getting a bad meal. And since we usually go while traveling - always open, good coffee, restrooms, etc.

So far this summer, I've usually made it to Cracker Barrel once a week for dinner after work. Food at Cracker Barrel is simple, cheap, and gives you a delicious taste of "homemade" food. No frills here folks, what you order is what you get. Some favorites include the broccoli casserole (vegetable of the day, seems like it's offered on Wednesdays), Cajun grilled catfish, hamburger steak, and the meatloaf. Breakfast is great too, with tons of options and substitutions available. The people working here are very nice. If you get continuous checks from the server, don't feel rushed. Apparently, it's mandated by the management as a way of letting them know that your server has checked up on you. If you want dependable, "safe" food with no frills, Cracker Barrel is the place to go.

I generally eat here weekly for breakfast, the quality is consistent, the staff are well trained and helpful. I generally get mama's pancake breakfast, it has only let me down once and it was quickly rectified. I wish that they had a larger selection of side dishes, but I have never left wanting for more and as long as they are open they will make you breakfast.

I love cracker barrel. Breakfast and dinner just like what I'd make at home but perfect when on the road or away from home. My only complaint today was that my friend tried to order oatmeal but was disappointed to find out they stop serving it at 11am. There was nothing on the menu that stated this. Just upsetting when you get your mouth set on something just to find out its not available.

Wow talk about disappointment. Just for a little background on myself I LOVE CRACKER BARREL like fuckin jump for joy when I find out were going there. This location really just killed my experience. We walked in put our name in at the counter and were told it would be 15 mins for our table. No problem we started to look around the store and I found two items I wanted to purchase and the manager told me to leave it with the girls at the counter and you can pay for it with your bill. No problem I handed my two items to one of the counter girls and our table was ready. We were seated in the back section and looked over the menus. I had never had breakfast here so I decided to skip my usual country fried chicken and go for pancakes with strawberries, two eggs over easy, bacon and sausage oh and my extra cheesy grits. My friend ordered the french toast. Our drinks came out and it seemed that was the last we were going to see of our waitress. People came in and were seated after us and got their food before us even though we sat there for an hour with the manager in a bright purple button down seeming to come check on every table but ours in the 45 mins we were sitting ducks. Finally our food came out after 45 mins and was clearly a forgotten order being it was thrown together in seconds or that's just how it looked when it arrived. When our waitress came back to our table with the food I looked at her and said did you forget about us? She didn't have an explanation. We ate were disappointed and went to pay our bill. We waited in the huge ass line and just as I finally reached the counter low and behold my items were no longer behind the counter waiting for me. I was beyond aggravated at this point left the line grabbed my items which I only got one because I didn't want to hold up the line any more than I was already. Overall just very dissapointing.

It amazes me how busy this place is in spite of their very average quality food. I've visited this place for breakfast several times and always come away wondering why I bother returning. It isn't that the food is bad, it just isn't good. My last visit, two weeks ago, I promised myself never again. Hard biscuits, watery grits, weak coffee, and the saw mill gravy was like an lab experiment gone wrong. The pancakes were good, but then again, it's really hard to screw up pancakes. Ya know? Don't waste your time and money. There's better out there.

So maybe this place was so hyped up that I expected much more. Regardless, still thoroughly enjoyed my meal and would definitely come back for some more. On our way up to Vermont, we stopped by for a quick dinner. I can never say no to breakfast at dinner, so I had the blueberry pancakes and he had the roast beef. My pancakes were huge and so fluffy and the blueberries were fresh. Needless to say, so good! His roast beef was so tender and flavorful, you get more than your moneys worth with this dish. We had an amazing meal for a fraction of the cost you'd expect to pay. The food is good, portions are huge and the price tag is miniscule. Service was fantastic and food came out quick. Nothing bad to say about this place, so stop on by!

Summary- Much worse than I remembered it being, just overall flavorless slop. Food- 1 star Yogurt parfait was advertised as fresh fruit but was clearly frozen strawberry mush when it arrived. Eggs over easy needed salt and one was slightly undercooked, hash brown casserole was barely warm and hard on the outside, sausage gravy was also not hot. Not a single thing that came with my meal was actually good. Service- 2 Stars When we sent back the Yogurt Parfait the waitress had no idea how to react. The line to checkout was ridiculously slow. Atmosphere- 2 Stars It's a Cracker Barrel, kitschy shit on the walls and a store full of trashy junk. Value- 1 Star The food has to be good to provide value.
