Fish tacos have been disappointing these days for months now. they give you two tiny little fried fish and mostly breaded, I barely taste fish I think tonight one is the last one. I ordered the chicken tacos with no onions, expecting only cilantro but I was wrong no cilantro in my chicken tacos yellow rice was pretty salty guess I won't get it anymore. I want to give it three stars but my loyalty for now

Pretty lame overall. The burrito I got was about 50% rice, 10% beans, 35% oversized hunks of vegetables, and 5% flavorless, chewy "steak", which was far worse than the quality of steak I received in run-down, curbside taco stands in the boondocks of Mexico. I tried some of my girlfriend's burrito, which had chicken, because maybe it was good . . . It tasted like somebody dumped a whole bottle of phony, storebought, "Mexican" seasoning on each nibble of chicken. Way overpowering and way fake. In addition to being pretty weak, the salsa selection was poor. No Tabasco or Tapatio. Just cheezy off-brand sauces. The tables were somewhat messy, too To top it off, the price was exorbitant. $3 for a taco? Of THIS quality? I've paid $1 for tacos which were 50x better. It's a shame that New Yorkers can be deceived so easily into thinking this is what Mexican food tastes like. It gets 2 stars because I was treated nicely and the establishment was well maintained. I do not recommend this. I hope they improve.

Great food so close to home I could have the fish and shrimp tacos every day of the week prices are good and the food fresh and served fast pleanty of seating and very clean they also have a tv and serve beer with lunch (as long as your old enough)

This place is great! Quick, delicious and best mango salsa ever! They have a salsa bar with about 4 different sauces, some pickled veggies and peppers. And there's no one there judging if you take1 or 4 containers of the mango salsa because you love it so much! I've been here plenty of times and ordered the tacos, burritos and salads but I was lost surprised with their ginormous monster burrito that feeds about 4 people or 1 extremely hungry person! The guac is delish too and won't break the bank. They have some alternatives if Mexican fare is not your thing (fish & chips, veggie burger and crab cakes), haven't tried those, but always a good option. Almost forgot to mention the free chips with every order... Always a plus!! This place is great for take out or quick cheap eats before a night out!

Still prefer chipotle for the food but this place less the headache then going to a chipotle and dealing with lines out the door.

Delicious food tired of eating Taco Bell or chipotle. It was recommended by one of my friends tried the steak tacos it was spicy, with tons of flavor and the hint of lime just blew my tastebuds off. Also tried the 6pc hot wings with it was a little hotter but had a nice kick to it and order does come with some chips which are good with the guacamole.

Solid, fresh, affordable Mexican food. What's real nice is the selection is more varied than other Mexican chains around the area. They offer chimichangas, chorizo, fish, etc. I especially like their Chicken Nachos platter. Excellent meal for only around $10.

i enjoyed the 3 fish tacos i had here. the fish was crunchy tasty and flavorful. it was small portion but then again it was "just" a taco. I thought it was overpriced at $2.95 plus tax for 1 taco. mcds has a deal for fish filet sandwich and small fries for $2.50 which is obviously a lot more filling. next time ill prob get the fish burrito or salmon grilled with rice. but i enjoyed the taste here. it was dead tho inside just 1 other customer who quickly left

Pinata's is a cute little tex mex casual take out eat in restaurant in an industrial area of LI by Grumman's. Far better than most mexican chains.. Good for lunch or light dinner. Taco's burrito's, salsa bar all good. They have just started offering chimichangas.

  • Genevieve R.

Get the monster burrito, cut it up and it can easily feed three people if not more (just sayin') good to come here for Mexican food cravings. Food is fresh and haven't been disappointed. Prices aren't too bad especially compared to chipotle and moes. I don't come here often though because I just don't crave that type of food very often.

Piñatas has been pretty hyped up on here, so when I found myself in Bethpage it was a no brainer to stop in for a 'rito. Unfortunately, it was nothing like I expected. The place itself is simple. Order at the counter, find a seat, eat. The table I choose to sit at happened to be dirty as hell. Salsa all over, old salsa container on the floor, gross. It needed a quick wipe down. My friend ordered a Pinatas fajita with chicken and I rocked the fajita burrito with chicken. Best thing about this place was the salsa bar. Good 'chip dipping sauce' along with a few hotter sauces. A few minutes after sitting down my buddy got his eats. The fajita looked solid in the plate, but the tortillas were pretty tiny. It was like a mini make your own taco bar. After a few more minutes we were looking around for the burrito. Both cooks were texting on their phones. 5 min later a dude came in and ordered some tacos. He gets his tacos, then I get my burrito. My friend is 3/4 done with his food. The burrito itself was bleh. It had nice size, but was a wreck to eat. The flavors were all over the place and it reminded me of a poor version of the fajita burrito at Green Cactus. I wouldn't return for either of these dishes again. I'll be back for a redemption to rock some tacos, but I'm not sure why. Maybe bc I'm a beleiber?

Pretty clean inside. They give you tortillia chips wuth your order. They were fresh and appeared homemade. They are not overly salty which is good. I had two chicken soft tacos. They are an ok size with plenty of chicken. The hot sauce is HOT so be careful!! I'll be back. Its an ok place to stop at if you are hungry and passing by.

This is my go to for Mexican food. It's fantastic and run by some really nice people. Their guac is fantastic but my all time favorite is their fish tacos. The sauce on the tacos is SO GOOD! Also the burritos are great esp if you're up to the challenge of the monster burrito! Also worth trying are the quesadillas and the tortas.

Asked for a chorizo burrito and they gave me a burrito made with Spanish chorizo... what mexican restaurant does this? For those that don't know spanish chorizo is smoked and mexican chorizo is fresh. Both type of sausages are seazoned different ly whrn made.

awesome food, much better than Moe's or chipotle. Always fresh, and authentic. Fair prices. Have been here a few times, and will continue to come back and support a local business. Two thumbs up!

Chicken quesadilla and the salads are amazing ! Not expensive at all and great for takeout

we ordered take out of tacos a burrito and guacamole with chips. when we got home a 2 minute drive it was ice cold which means it was not hot to begin with. the food was just thrown in the take out containers it was very unappealing it looked like slop and tasted horrible - nothing fresh about it. The food here is very salty to the point of inedible with tough pieces of meat. very expensive in comparison to quality most went in the trash. the chips which is the simplest of basic things were greasy. The food around Bethpage is seriously lacking so on par with the area..just horrible.

Really wanted to love Piñatas Mexican Grill -- unfortunately it's just OK. Casual dining is great if the food is outstanding. Decor is fine but the tables weren't really cleaned properly -- if you order and then look for a table, we were choosing from the least splashed with salsa. Annoying. Prices are good but the food is really just satisfactory. For example, bean and cheese burrito served in a tortilla that's cold? In fact, all the burritos we got were served up in quite frigid cold tortillas. Really? They say you'll get chips and salsa complimentary but for 3 people, one teeny tray of chips - really, c'mon! The jalapeno poppers were store bought and warmed up but really just okay. Staff is good and the location is good on Hicksville Road but really, not sure if we'll be back. If you're starving at lunchtime, sure -- grab an affordable bite but otherwise, I'd say you aren't missing much.

Food was good and prepared quickly. The salsa bar was nice and free refills. The only detractor was the food was a little pricey for what you get. Other than that, it was a good experience.

  • Paul H.

I used to love this place. The piñata burrito served enchilada style was amazing. The last few times I went here I was not as impressed. I thought the burritos had significantly less meat. It was like they replaced half the meat with WAY too much pico de gallo.

delicious food. got the monster burrito.

  • Elizabeth D.

Delicious and authentic. Everything I have tried here is amazing. They are famous for their fish tacos. Grub Hub rated their Tijuana Shrimp Taco as one if the best. But they have a huge variety on the menu. They serve beer.

  • Scott H.

If you like real Mexican food like you would find in San Diego, then you must try Piñatas. First, they give you free, homemade HOT tortilla chips with fresh pico de gallo (pro-tip: mix some "hot" into the pico). No tostitos brand type of junk that other places serve. That was the first good sign. I tried one of each of the fish, chicken, and carne asada tacos and enjoyed all of them, but the fish was superb. You could tell the warm corn tortilla was fresh made. Fish was crispy with no "fishy" taste that you find in cheap fish tacos. The cabbage gave it a nice bite, and then it was smothered in a delicious creamy sauce with fresh tomatoes that just pulled it all together. Highly recommend. The chicken and carne asada both were highly enjoyable as well, they are well seasoned and come with chopped onions and mild salsa that just taste so right. If you are looking to get out of your chipotle/Taco Bell comfort zone and try some real and fresh mexican, grab a cold corona and give Piñatas a shot, you won't be disappointed.

Okay this place was pretty good, but nothing to rave about. My taco salad was pretty yummy and my family seemed to like their typical burritos quesadillas, etc. Although my brother said chipotle was better! What bothered me was the rude man behind the counter who seemed to be a manager of sorts. He made me nervous to ask him questions about my meal. He was very quick to the point and looked like he wanted to rush me out of there.... even though there was not one single other person in the restaurant...weird.

  • Roseann B.

Can't believe I've never reviewed this place. My fiancé lives right down the block and we got delivery a few times. We used to LOVE Pinatas, but the last few times we got food from there it was terrible. The delivery is always at least one hour, when they actually remember to deliver your food. The last order we placed was never delivered and the 16 year old "manager" told us he tried calling many times for the address again. This definitely did not happen. The food is okay, but always cold by the time it gets to us. When we eat there, the quality is a little better, but we'd rather drive the quarter of a mile to Mangoes and spend an extra 20 bucks on real Mexican food!

    (2)
  • Casey A.

Been twice now. The food is tasty but temperature-wise (not spicy-wise) it could be a little hotter. It is encouraging to see all the employees eating the food, and the enchiladas could be spectacular if they would just heat them up a little hotter. The potential is there in the flavors, the preparation just needs to step up a hair.

Went here today for lunch and had the burrito pescado or as I would call it the fish burrito. It was awesome!! and cheap. This thing was BIG, had cheese, rice, sour cream, salsa, and chunks of lightly fried codfish. They have a sauce in there which is amazing!! It's the same sauce thats on the fish tacos (which are great as well). You really cant beat this place as far as quality and value for the food you get. They also give you free tortilla chips with every order, then they have a little salsa bar where you can get their fresh salsa, hot & mild sauces, jalapenos etc. This is one of the best "fast food" places Ive ever been too. Return factor=100%.

Good, solid Mexican food. Get the burrito enchilada style. The fish taco is also excellent. Staff is prompt, food is always made fresh.

This used to be one of my most frequented Mexican places when it first opened up a couple of years when it was a Greek guy who owned it now I'm not sure who the owner is but his attitude is horrible he thinks he is hot shit if it's the guy behind the counter with earrings and grey hair and to make matters worse one day I ordered food for delivery they said they had no delivery guy ok no problem I go pick it up pay for my food as soon as I get home my gf opens up her tacos and they were ice cold so I proceeded to call them up guy on the phone says next time you come in I'll take care of you I said thank you and I was happy now fast forward to next month I order I go to pick up told the guy about the problem did nothing and sure enough I get home and tacos are cold again if I do order from here ever again I hope the service is better and the tacos warmer I will make sure to check everything before I leave

Well priced, generous portions of great tasting Mexican that was ready in a flash, a must for the already hungry searching on Yelp for a bite. The staff is super nice which always builds an appetite. We took our enchiladas and quesadillas to go, and were satisfied greatly. Thanks!!

They menu is great with different authentic Mexican dishes on it, from tamales to empanadas. I did like the spice in the food. The only thing is I ordered the chicken & chorizo tacos but I felt the meat was to dry. The customer service was good.

  • Andrew K.

I had fish tacos here and they were pretty good but I must say I've had better Mexican food across the island. This is a place I would go to for more of the convenience aspect than anything else. Overall decent food, nice environment, and good salsa selection.

  • Kim W.

Rating: 3.5 I like this place better than Green Cactus. It's fast and tastes great. The fish tacos are small but packed. Definitely order more than one. It's never packed here so it's easy to order and the food comes out reasonably fast. Love the unlimited pico and salsa bar.

Both the steak and chicken burritos have a terrible aftertaste...much like cleaning product. Terrible. Absolutely terrible. One star for the chips and guac.

Great prices for beer and great prices for large portions of fresh ingredients. I've never had a bad meal here. I love that you can make any burrito an enchilada style for 2 bucks. Awesome place for cheap food and beer!!!!

I've been eating at Pinatas since they opened, and it has remained a great place to pick up a consistently tasty meal. Burrito Pescado and Chorizo Tacos are my go-to, but everything else I've tried has been good as well. I always order mine "spicy", which unlike a lot of restaurants actually has some kick to it. The fresh salsa bar is quite good as well. Nice bonus when they have soccer on the TV during the day.

Went here to try the fish tacos after reading so many great reviews about them. Guess I got my hopes up a little too high. They were good, but honestly they tasted exactly like Green Cactus'....maybe a bit more packed (which also translated to messier)

I've eaten at a lot of Mexican places and this place is great if you want tasty, hot fresh food but you don't have time or money to go to a restaurant. The food is restaurant quality though. Your food is made hot and fresh while you wait. You also get a nice size portio with chips and salsa on the side. I've gone 3 times so far and I've been very please every time. Recently I tried the veggie quesedilla, it's a great size, very filling, the cheese was melted just right, the veggies were fresh and the guacamole on the side was delicious. I like that they put the guac and sour cream on the side so I can add as much as I like. It's also inexpensive. This place rocks!

  • Shamil B.

Fast food place more than a sit down. You order and pickup..but the food is amazing!! Our first visit today on Drink-o de Mayo but certainly not our last..i ordered the chicken taquitos and wife ordered chicken tacos. My dish had a flavorful pico de gallo and guacamole. They even offered free house margaritas today!!! The owner was very friendly and interacting with everyone. Great place for a quick Mexican fixing. And boy is it cheap!!! We spent less than $20 for dinner and soft drinks.

Very reminiscent of the Mexican spots in LA. Everything was spot on good from their giant burritos to their freshly made tortilla chips. If they only made carne asada fries, I would be in heaven!

  • Dort F.

So I ate a burrito as BIG AS AN UNRULY BABY...wow!!! Ok, size isn't everything when it comes to food, but with a DEARTH of "big food" in these here parts (cause everyone has to slender in moneybags NY I guess), it warms the cockles of my duodenum to see a place willing to throw caution into the wind with a darned huge burrito...& it was quite tasty too!! Nice sautéed veggies, filled with cubes of spiced chicken, cheeses & wrapped tight in a pleasing tortilla, topped with some delicious Mexican chipotle sauce from a bottle...it was truly a gluttonous feast...& I would have given this oasis of Fat boy fun cinco stars, but my gf hated the place so much (some people are forever unpleaseable anhedonics!!) that I just had to take away one star in some kind of feigned solidarity...but it's really 5...guys, go with your bros & leave the ball & chain at home to swap carrot sticks with the gals!!!

My favorite place to get a quick meal. Shrimp Burrito is my favorite. Recommend trying it enchilada style if looking for a larger meal. Always enjoy the chicken or chorizo tacos as well. All the salsas are delicious and very fresh!

I think of myself as a true lover of Mexican food and this is my favorite fast food Mexican place. They have an awesome and very complete menu which even includes a few American dishes for fussy children. My favorite thing though is their egg burrito, which is totally not a breakfast food at all. It's made just like any other burrito (all are amazing), except, instead of chicken or whatever meat, there is deliciously seasoned egg. The only thing I don't LOVE is their salsa selection. There isn't any that I really like, but over time I discovered a remedy: mix the light green one and the darker, saucier tomato one. The service is decent; most of the guys are nice (although they don't let two people share one fountain soda, which seems ridiculous), and the atmosphere is perfectly relaxed, clean, and comfortable. I will never say no to an invitation to eat here.

  • Chris C.

Picked up food here for lunch with a few friends. Seemed to be a good, clean place to get some food. You can eat there but we got it to go. The spicy taco i had was good, but not very big at all. The nachos were a good size, they really piled on the toppings to. The chicken taquitos were very dry and had to be dipped in something to really eat them. All and all the food was pretty good, i would try some other things from there .

I give this place five stars all the way! My first time here, heard great reviews from my coworkers so I wanted to check it out. Place was clean and friendly, big TV in the middle playing ESPN. Ordered a Mexican Chicken Burrito with black beans, it came out so fast. It was delicious and flavorful. Also had some fresh salsa from the salsa bar and that was great.

LOVE PINATAS! We eat here frequently and I order from here for lunch all the time. I've also had work parties catered and have used Pinatas for that as well. They always get your order perfect and it is always fresh and delicious. I especially love their fresh tortilla chips, french fries and their chicken taquitos and shrimp tiajuana tacos! Their prices are extremely reasonable considering the food is fresh & fast. I would rather spend $8 here on lunch or dinner than at McDonalds or some fast food chain. And their pico de gallo is awesome!

  • Michael Y.

I have been going here since they opened and the quality is a bit down since they sold the place a couple of years ago. I feel like the quality of the ingredients have gone down (especially the cheese). With Chipotle now open on 106/107 I don't find the need to eat here anymore. The only benefit is they give you free chips where you have to pay for them at the chain store.

I've passed by Pinatas for the past few years now and wanted to check it out but never did until today. Being a lover of fish tacos, I ordered one as well as a chicken taco and a beef hard taco. I figured I'd try out the tacos first but it seems I should have ordered one of their burritos instead because I left with a terrible first impression! When I received my freshly made order, the beef hard taco was in its own container. The other 2 tacos were together in another container, but they were SO small that I thought it was one whole taco! They were each literally the size of a half taco, if even. I was shocked at how small they were at first glance and stood at the counter looking like a lost soul for a moment thinking my third taco was coming. $11.08 including a fountain drink is NOT a good deal considering how small the tacos were. Perhaps I would have left satisfied and full if they threw in chips on the side with every order! That is sooo Chipotle of them! Green Cactus and Moes are still on the top of my list, mmmm Moesssss. Pinatas will hopefully redeem themselves when I try the burritos next time, but as for tacos you are a better off going to Taco Bell to get your best bang for the buck. I'm all for independently owned restaurants but this was a letdown... Solid 3 stars for now for the big screen TV they have in there...and the fish taco actually wasn't bad at all

  • Kelly Y.

It's more like a 4.5 for me. I've passed by this place many times (mostly to have dim sum next door at the orient), but this place definitely stacks up to some of my favorite fast tex mex places. Prices are more than reasonable (especially when compared to Chipotle or Green Cactus). Bf and I had a fish taco (great with lime), bean and cheese burrito (exactly as it sounds like, nothing special), and the chorizo burrito (great flavor with the enchilada sauce). Really happy we tried it out. 4.5 for the lack of heat from the salsa (the hot sauce was more of a smokey chipotle than the spice i wanted). Will definitely come back again.

The food is made as you order it and freshness is what they serve. Piping hot goodness in every bite. If you looking for quick in & out experience but still want good food, this is your place. I work in the area and frequent this restaurant for lunch. I am in and out rubbing my tummy within 40 minutes. I always try to get seat next to the 50" flat panel and get my ESPN fix. Makes the experience better

Went here as a spur of the moment Date Night choice, don't think I will ever go again. I got the taco salad with ground beef and hubby got the chicken chimichangas. I LOVE chimichangas and was really surprised by what came out of the kitchen. A toasted burrito with a smear of crusty dry refried beans on top. The rice looked and tasted as if it came out of a ready made package. Taco salad was okay, the guac and edible salad bowl were the best part of it. Over all hubby and I decided it wasn't terrible but it was way over priced for what we got. At this point we said it was a 3 out of 5. A few hours later we both had such bad indigestion and stomach aches we vowed never to go back, and dropped our scores to a 1.5. Imagine my shock to see such fabulous reviews on here!!! We were really disappointed to spend the remainder of our date night feeling so crumby!!!

Being from California where great mexican food is EVERYWHERE, it was nice to have found this place here in Bethpage. the food is EXCELLENT, service is excellent, and menu is excellent. I usually call in to carry out my order and they ALWAYS get everything right. Only ONCE they forgot to add one of my sides but the next time i went in, they gave me 2 free sides. The guys are always nice and its very clean inside too. I know good mexican food and this place is fantastic. HIghly recommend.

I have lived in Hicksville my whole life and then moved to Farmingdale which is still close to Pinatas which is on the border of Hicksville / Bethpage. I knew about it when they opened a few years ago but never gave it a shot as I frequented Chipotle. Well, hubby passed by there today during an errand and came home and said "Let's get Mexican for lunch." Choice was either Mangoes in Bethpage or Pinatas. I have heard mixed reviews on Mangoes so I picked Pinatas. We went there today and walked in. Place is nice with a lot of seating. Saw the menu and instantly picked the tostada salad with chicken. Hubby got the GIANT burrito. We thought it would be like the big burrito from Green Cactus. We got our chips that come with the food and picked our salsas from the bar. Very good pico de gallo and other salsas. Our food finally was ready and HOLY GOD, the burrito. LOL! HUGE!!!!! Hubby said it was the best burrito ever. He's a big guy. (6'7) And to him, this is like a normal sized burrito. He devoured the whole thing. It looked awesome. I was working on my salad which was very good. Had everything in it- chicken, lettuce, guac, black beans, sour cream, cheese- the works. Very, very good. We are new fans of this place and will be back!

I joined a coworker for lunch here March 25, 2009. I probably never would have noticed the place if I had just been passing by. It's in a small strip mall and the face of the building is set at a right angle to the street...... you almost have to know it's there to find it. The inside is not fancy, but it is clean and well kept. The staff was friendly and courteous. The dish I had, their "Mexi Burrito," was good and by itself very filling. The prices were reasonable. Flo B is right about watching out for that hot sauce! My co-worker warned me about it just as I was checking her review on my iPhone. When I have business in the area, which unfortunately is not that often, I intend to stop back.

Average tasting food, go here if you want to mix it up for a change. Chicken was seasoned very strangely. Rice was dry. I'm also used to fixing my own plate instead of pre fixed meals.

I ducked in here for a quick bite while traveling out of town. The fish tacos were excellent and the salsa and guacamole were good as well. The food was made fresh while I waited but was still done quickly. The restaurant was clean and located in a nice plaza with off-street parking. I actually tried to go to one other Mexican restaurant first, but once I saw the location and the people hanging around the area, I drove past and went somewhere else.

I've always wanted to come here ever since I started working in Hicksville. I kept wondering why I have not visited the spot until one day I needed to stop by the Dunkin Donuts next door to it. I was in the area, but I still did not go inside the building.... gahhh what a shame! I wasn't hungry at the time. Finally, another opportunity for my coworkers to lunch together comes my way, and to my surprise, everyone wants Pinatas! Hooray!!! We of course visit Yelp.com and then the website. The homepage music was COOL!... and so was the printable menu!! Also THEY DELIVER! WOOT We call in, order, and within 20min, DING DONG! our food comes. 10 seconds after we pay, everyone starts munching! And I thought I was excited! I jump in, take a bite of Jalapeno poppers (not too hot though, but cheesy), some Mozz sticks and the soft Tacos (tacos didn't have too much cheese). Portions are a little small, but they beat taco bell sizes anytime. One thing I like about these Mex meals is they include several leaves of lettuce, makes this meal a bit healthier than other Mex places. ...mmmm gone in 60 secs. Beat that Angelina Jo and Nick Cage! Next time, going for the Fish Tacos!

Good food... Good prices, not great. Good service. Love the fish taco and the chorizo burrito enchilada style. Free fresh made chips and salsas are a nice extra.

This is a good place to come and have some fast, decent burritos or nachos. I like their counter service style and its good that they have their soda fountain on the outside so you can refill your cup.

Fresh food, good prices and very clean. I can't review too many items as I always end up with the fish burrito when I go here. It is so good, I can't stray and try other things as I usually would do. The chips are crisp and tasty. There are a good variety of sauces, so try a little of each one.

So I've been on a bit of a Mexican binge lately. I've been craving tacos and burritos as throughly as a pregnant woman craves here most obscure of delicacies. First off, the fish taco is absolutely divine. Their tangy sauce is inspired and almost reminiscent of taco bells (now dethroned in my mind) wonderful Baja sauce. The tongue taco is not for the faint of heart, but let me tell you, it's flavorful intricacy had me yearning for more. I also had a steak taco which was pretty darn good, cause hey how can you muss up a steak taco?! The servers were friendly and personable, the food was more than reasonably priced, and.... They have a liquor license, with most beers residing under the $4 range. I had a great time at pinatas, and I can honestly say that this modest taco joint is a future staple of long island... As important as any Billy Joel love sonnet and as moving and timeless as the pages of The Great Gatsby.

Frequently use GrubHub to order from here. The food is always ready when I get there (even if it hasn't been that long). Everyone in my family loves the tostada salads (particularly with chicken). Other favorites of mine are the chicken quesadilla, egg burrito, and torta sandwhich. All are filling and delicious. Don't forget to pick up some sauces from the condiment bar to go with the plethora of free chips you will get.

It's NOT Chipotle but it's no Taco Bell either. I dont even think the food would be considered "authentic" by my Mexican friends, but it is certainly fresher and tastier than TBell. The quantity is not great, just enough to be considered filling. Nor is the food much cheaper than Chipotle, despite the size difference. It is better than other Mexican places around and has a variety that blows Chipotle out of the water. I had tongue taco, fish taco, and all kinds of burritos from here and none has tasted bad though some were not that interesting. The chips are drowned in oil which makes me sad. Guac is so watery and can be skipped. It's really dingy and I would not come here with kids or a large party.

Used grubhub for a pickup. Food was ready when I got there. It was a walk in walk out situation. Upon unwrapping I immediately thought to myself this place could step it up a bit in the to-go container department but they when I noticed they gave me bonus food I quickly looked past it. They got my order wrong but in a good way. Well, thats the first time that's actually worked in my favor lol The food was on plastic plates wrapped with aluminim foil. I got a free bag of fresh tortilla chips with dip as advertised on their menu. I ordered the three empanada appetizer but they actually gave me five. Score #1 I also ordered 6pc hot wings and they gave me 7. Score #2. The wings were about a 5 out of 10 in terms of heat. It was more of a hot aftertaste than straight up heat. The tortilla chips were still warm but lacked salt but they were free so I can't complain. The empanadas were made of cornflour dough and stuffed with chicken and potatoes. Not bad, a little on the small side but again I got extras, still can't complain. The guac was a little on the chunky side but had good flavor. I ordered one Tijuana Shrimp taco and one fish taco both soft. They were double shelled and for good reason. The fish taco was drenched in sauce, if there werent two soft taco shells layered it definitely would have fallen apart but the zesty sauce was great. Again the tacos were a little on the small side but had that homemade authentic mexican taste. The shrimp taco had a lot of cilantro on it and to me thats great because I love the taste of cilantro. It was decently packed with shrimp too. The shrimp taco was served with a lime and the fish taco was served with a lemon wedge. Nice touch and the citrus gave it an extra flavor boost, not that it needed one. I am glad I ordered the extra appetizers because just these two tacos alone would not have filled me up. Total for my order was $18 and change including tax. I saved some empanadas and wings for later and just snacked on the chips to help fill me up. The salsa tasted more like canned watered down marinara than salsa. That is probably the only thing in this meal that struck me as not authentic mexican.

Piñatas reminds me of the Green Cactus grill...to be quite honest there are more similarities than differences. I always enjoy their burritos, and their bowl options are yummy also. I love that every meal comes with a side of fresh made nachos & there's a "bar" when you walk in with different salsas and toppings. Never disappointed!

I used to work here about 10 years ago and since then its changed owners and prices have significantly gone up and quality down, but only marginally. Still pretty good, but nothing special.

Piñatas, how do I love thee? Let me count the ways: Veggie Nachos Shrimp Tacos Veggie Burrito Fish Burrito House tortilla chips and freshy fresh salsa. My husband works very close to Piñatas and he talking the place up so much, so I decided I needed to form my own opinion. After visiting him for lunch there just once I was hooked. The price was right, the ingredients were fresh, the salsa flavorful, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Mind you, I've only been inside the establishment once, but we've gotten takeout from there many times since that day. I'm taking away one star because the tables weren't as clean as they could have been, and I hear this is an ongoing issue. We pick up our takeout, so I can't review the delivery service. Thanks, Piñatas, we'll be back for more!

It say on there menu customer satisfaction is one of there priority ,could have fooled me ,i just pick up my order ,a burrito,it looks like some sat on it ,it was made so poorly ,,and just ended up throwing it out ,for 18 dollars it should have been made better ,taco bell burritos look better than the shit they gave me ,so customer satisfaction it not important to them,,just lost a customet,i wouldnt even give them 1 star

I love this place, so far everything that I have tried is excellent. The owner is very pleasant and eager to please his customers. The food quality is very good and it tastes home made. I have eaten at mom and pop Mexican food places in Southern California and Pinatas gives these places a run for their money. I recommend this restaurant.

I've been a customer at Pinatas for at least a decade. In that time, I've had lots of Mexican food, both in New York and on the West coast, and this is still up there with some of the best. I used to go for the steak or chicken quesadillas, with the occasional burrito, but their tacos are my current favorite; specifically chorizo. You always get free chips, and their dipping sauce is among the best. I try to visit whenever I'm back on Long Island.

Have been going to this place for the past few years, big fan of the shrimp burrito and fish taco...food is always pretty good. HOWEVER, the customer service has gotten so bad that it is now atrocious and I dont even want to spend my money there anymore. Most of the workers are so rude and never smile, especially the grey haired guy with an earring whom I am assuming is a manager maybe? He acts like he is doing a favor embracing you with his presence. They have messed up my order over 3 times now, and every time I order the tres leches cake they always pack it bad so it leaks out all into the bag, even though I ALWAYS TELL THEM to pack it in a different bag. Last month they forgot my cake so I called them when I got home to tell them and they said sorry nonchalantly and told me to come back, when I got there they charged me and rushed me out. Last straw was today, called to place a delivery order for my job, first was placed on old then hung up on, then was placed on hold for 10 minutes....finally my food took an hour and a half to be delivered. How can you work in the food industry if you are lacking any customer service skills? This place needs a real 'Restaurant Stakeout'

Fairly decent joint tucked away in a strip mall. I've had a Pinwheel {Mexican Pizza} which I wouldn't recommend and a Veggie Burrito that I would recommend. It's no El Torritos, but it will do.

I LOVE it here! I've been coming for 2 years and every time the food is delicious! Make sure you try the fish tacos :) The service is always really good and there are a lot of friendly people who work there! Delivery is cool and convenient when I don't want to leave my house during the colder seasons

OBSESSED. Long Island is lacking in the cheap, but good Mexican food category. But who cares because I have this place now. The food here is delicious, and fresh. DO NOT come here without trying the fish taco, the sauce on it, amazing. They have a bunch of inside seating. The style of service is like a pizzeria, you order, wait, grab everything on the tray, and bring to your seat. There is a small condiment bar, with a few different salsas, lime, and other toppings to add. I recommend getting about 3 tacos per person, and something to share like guacamole or nachos. You automatically get free chips and salsa (love!). I've also tried a burrito, but I was full so fast, could not enjoy the rest of my stuff as much.

Pinatas is one of those places that you think is gonna be "your restaurant" that looks run down on the outside and yet has amazing food. You'll probably take your friends there telling them about this quaint little gem of a restaurant in town. Then, you'll go and get served cold enchiladas, beans, rice, and a tomato slice covered in sour cream, and realize you should've just gone to chipotle.

I have to agree with Nick C. this rating is more like a 3.5. I stopped here for lunch today and ordered one hard shell beef taco and 2 fish tacos. Everything tasted pretty good. The one complaint I do have is that the fish in the fish tacos seemed very dry. I really liked the sauce. This place is very much like Green Cactus, in fact I remember when the owner of Pinatas worked at Green Cactus many many years ago. Not sure if he still owns Pinatas though. They also had a lot of specials you won't find at Green Cactus, some I saw today were crab cakes and fish and chips. Overall, I'm satisfied. Next time I go, I will try not to forget to order sour cream for the beef taco!

Really good value for the money. Their burritos are simple, fresh, and not messy. Very good sandwiches. Unlimited pico de gallo and toppings. Clean place. They can make a "Monster Size Burrito" for any of their flavors! Try it

Awesome customer service!..my fiancee (originally from Cali) and our kids went to this joint..we're always looking for a good Mexican restaurant...close to the 619 standards..very good food..the burrito I ordered was huge!..overall was real good!

More like a 3.5, nice Green Cactus substitute. Some real good things, some not so good things. First thing is the tacos are all a nice size, and with the soft shell, they seem to really over stuff them, so you get your moneys worth. And it's not that much money to begin with. The good; the chorizo taco, good flavour, good moist spiced meats, nice toppings. The fish taco, real fresh (fried) pieces of fish, very nice sauce on top. I was always one to avoid fish tacos for some reason, something about them turned me off. Gave it a try, and I'm glad I did. The bad; steak taco, chicken taco. Maybe it was just the night we were there, but both of these meats were extremely dry. The ok; nachos. Piled on cheeses, guac, sour cream, salsa, all the regulars are here and pretty good. Just ok however because the cheeses were on so heavy in parts that the chips got real real soggy. Wrap up; Not a bad "fast food" joint for tacos, maybe on par if not a little better than Green Cactus.

Have been here a bunch of times over the past few years. Solid option if you're in the mood for some decent fast-Mexican and don't feel like going to a sit-down Mexican restaurant. Very good for what it is! They cook to order, so unlike Chipotle and Moe's, everything is hot and fresh (worth the 5 minute wait for it). The burrito options are pretty solid. If you like veggies, the Fajita burrito is stuffed with Peppers and onions. The monster burrito is about the size of a football. Have eaten on 3 occasions, very tough to put down but real good. Pretty much everything I have had was good here. Only had a problem once when we ordered chicken quesadillas and they gave us just regular cheese dillas. Overall a good place to stop for a burrito or taco

Go here quite often for lunch, as I work right around the corner. Easily one of the best 'fast-food' mexican/burrito places. SO much better then Moe's and Chipotle. They make everything theres, their chip-dipping salsa is fantastic, as are their salads and burritos.

    (4)
  • Larry B.

solid local fast casual mexican spot in bethpage...head & shoulders above anything you'll find at moe's or chipotle, pinatas offers all the mexican staples you've come to love as well as some great stuff you won't find at the big names...some of my favorites include the fajita burrito & the tijuana shrimp tacos, i also love their fish tacos but put the dressing just a small peg below the one at green cactus (sorry guys)...service can be a little slow but it mainly stems from the place always being so busy because of the quality product they're putting out...definitely a great place to check out the next time you have some mexican cravings!

Yea, as good as it gets around this neighborhood. Fast, affordable, and delicious. What else can you ask for? Chicken Torta, yes please! What really made this place a 5 star joint; The salsa. You have to try their brown salsa. It's peppery, but not too spicy. Roundhouse kick of flavor in your face! It's the BEST salsa I've had, EVER.

Honestly, really bland greasy disgusting food. The workers are even worse. Would it ever kill you to smile?? You are in the food service industry after all. Cheap tacky ghetto joint. I can't believe people call this Mexican food. Lmfao X 1000.

I only got delivery here. Their veggie tosada salad is HUGE! I'm a big cilantro person so the fact that I can smell it and taste it, I'm a happy camper. And their guacamole is to die for! I was afraid the tosada salad might be soggy, but it was perfect, had it for breakfast the next day.

We came here with high hopes after seeing all the good reviews I got the tacos and they were probably the worst tacos I've ever eaten. The taco shell was completely stale and when we mentioned it to the owner he wasn't sure what the word stale even meant. Lastly, the ground beef had no flavor.
