I'm in love. For 10 yrs now my number 1 pizza has been Umbertos in New Hyde location. But the regular slice here with sprinkling of sesame seeds (ordered w he regular, non sweet sauce ) blew me away! Hubby tho adores their sweet sauce. He was laughing looking at me bite in with my eyes closed and a big smile. Highly recommend.

Been eating pizza here for 30 years. Best of the best, bar none. Love the sweet sauce and selection.

bleh. i've never been a big fan of sesame, and Guiseppe's crust is crawling with it; they serve Schweppes "ginger ale," which doesn't taste like ginger ale (because it isn't - you can't make ginger ale without ginger, and there ain't no ginger in Schweppes), and on top of nothing tasting right, the last pizza i ordered for delivery was wet (don't ask me - i don't think either of us wants to know) to the point of soaking the bottom of the box and causing it to sag. they also don't use the little white plastic lid supports that many places put in the center of their pizzas, with the result that Guiseppe's pizza often arrives with much of the cheese that was supposed to be on the pizza stuck instead to the lid of the box. i think they must be really profit-hungry; their prices aren't low, yet the Schweppes, the generic pizza box that doesn't identify the pizzeria, the cheap waxed paper that doesn't do its job, and the absence of lid supports all suggest a cutting of corners. and i too experienced the somewhat delayed delivery that another reviewer complained about. i wish the folks at Guiseppe's well, and will find my Italian food elsewhere. addendum, 13 May 2015: i've discovered that i can ask for the sesame seeds to be left off the crust, and for me, that improves my experience of Guiseppe's pizza considerably...but there are still other pizzas i like better and so will choose first.

I have passed this place hundreds of times. I tried it a long time ago and it was good. I then let some time pass and decided to try it again. Man can they make a great sauce! Their original sauce is hands down the best I have ever had. I absolutely love their pies. I have also had the Fried Ravioli which is very good as well. Do not hesitate to grab a specialty slice either. The only problem I have is with delivery. It can take a very long time and sometimes the pizza is luke warm. If they increased the delivery time and delivered piping hot pizza every time, this would be 5 stars. It is always worth the wait and the food speaks for itself.

Come all the way from the Bronx for this Pizza. Unless options on pizza. If theirs anything you don't see. They will make it for you. Today I had a slice with sweet sauce. Family-friendly business.

Suggested too my by a Bostonian, not exactly the go to people for pizza joints but I gotta say she was right. Sesame seed crust is a new one for me but I think it'll grow on me...

Just ordered for delivery. It took over an hour and a half to send my food. I ordered linguine they sent spaghetti. I called the resturant. They put me on hold for 5 mins and then came back and said my order would be here any minute. Aka they completely never made my food. 20 bucks for egg plant parm. Not worth it. I will never eat here again

In Huntington Station, is a quirky love it or hate it type of pizza place with a cult like following. Giuseppe's makes two neapolitan pies with their own sweet sauce, and traditional for those who don't appreciate their originality. I first heard of Guiseppe's while standing in a greek restaurant accross from Emelio's of Commack. Before I could get an opinion of the multi town favorite, I was told by a woman at the counter that instead, she heads a few towns over to Guiseppe's for their cool sweet sauce pizza. She warned you may not like it or be used to it. Outside looking a little run down, and inside a clean but older place, there are a bunch of pizza's clearly just made with many variations. Creativity is something that is everpresent here. On my first visit, they were warm and welcoming, and described the different sauces. There was a family there in from Islandia, who also travel to have this odd sweet sauce pizza. I took it home, and it didn't fly. Lol. I also brought two friends a meatball pizza for a late work night, and they liked that, where I didn't. (meatballs were too light and soft and not baked in too well. This time just tried the plain neapolitan slice. Driving home, this was a crispy somewhat light crust with sesame seeds on the rim, and the sauce and cheese were on the mild side. Not heavy or dense, but lighter blander, crispier crust. Guiseppe's Pizza is a fan favorite. Love it or hate for the tasty original sweet sauce they use. It is a bucket list (lol) must try.. if you are passing through here, you should certainly see what side of the fence you are on with this. lol For those in the city, who may be taking the LIE out to the east end, it's an easy stop off on Rte 110 north up over Jericho Tpk on the left.

The only good thing at this spot is their sweet slice pizza and nice owner. I've tried most of their other slices too and not a fan. Their food is mostly made from frozen and not fresh, the guy at the counter admitted it to me when I returned calamari. that I got delivered. Very friendly owner though but they should cook from fresh and not charge so much extra for delivery if your one mile away. That sweet slice is amazing though but parking is tough. Nice owner

I gotta give it up to Giuseppe's for being Huntington's most unique types of pizza. I've lived in the area for pretty much all my life and I have eaten this pizza a fair amount of times. The uniqueness is definitely from their sweet sauce, which I've heard rumors of years ago they put Hawaiian Punch in their sauce which can be off putting to some but I think that's what makes them so different from the other pizzerias around the area.

  • Frank P.

Ive had about half of their different slices. most of them are gross except the sweet slice. their calamari was deffinetly frozen, the owner even told me so, gross and chewy

Came here last night for the first time in a long while. I happened to be in the neighborhood and was hungry and remembered that this amazing place was right down the block. The sweet slices are SOOO good and the sesame crust makes it even better. This is probably my favorite pizza place come to think of it. We also had a stuffed meat slice which was also delicious. Staff was very friendly and accomodating. Hope to be back soon!

When I first heard about this place, I was really skeptical. I have tried my fair share of pizza from Long Island to the city. I must say, I was very apprehensive in trying the "sweet sauce" slice. It's pretty good and it was even amazing when it was hot and the cheese was melting. I applaud the restaurant on their creativity on their sauce and using dough with sesame seeds on them. I would say this would be a one time deal, because I feel after a while the sweetness is over powering. Everything else was great! Tip your delivery boys!

Nothing fancy but great pizza! I had never tried the sweet slice before and decided to order one. I was skeptical but it was delicious. I had a grandma slice also with sesame seeds on the crust- yum! If your looking for a good slice or two or a pie I would recommend trying Guiseppe's!

There are a few times in life when a meal is so gross and flawed that you might never try that dish again. Giuseppe's pizza (with their RIDICULOUSLY SWEET 'what the $&@& ?!?' sauce) was one of those meals. I cannot apprehend how someone can mess up something like pizza so badly. This should be served as dessert. My Italian friend has never felt sadder since she came here 2 years ago. (by the way it's spelled Guiseppe). We also ordered fries which were 100% microwaved. We will never trust a Lithuanian again (the person who referred us to this place).

If you want real NY pizza, then do not go here. After trying other establishments during my stay, I now know the meaning of a real NY pizza. The slice of pizza was a filler for a day of traveling.

Love the pizza and always vary my order between the traditional sauce and their sweet sauce. Always a great pie and good food.

You can choose sweet or regular sauce. I eat here sometimes when i feel like something different. The crust is heaven. I always take out. Its a typical pizza joint. I dont get all the mixed reviews. Just try it...

That sauce is nasty. Just too sweet, no balance whatsoever. Will not be ordering from here again.

I just had a terrible experience with this place. They quoted me one price and then demanded twice that price when the food eventually arrived. I placed an order, then got a call back 5 minutes later saying that order wouldn't work and I had to place a new order. It would take 20 minutes for delivery. Delivery took 45 minutes, and the price was TWICE the quote I got on the phone. Magically my $12 pizza was a $24 pizza. I called and they wouldn't do a thing about it. I'll never use this place again and am totally appalled at the rudeness of this place.

Came here for a quick dinner one night, not the best place to eat at- dirty & small and not in the best neighborhood. When we ordered a pizza we were offered either their sweet house sauce or traditional ( we got the traditional) we were a little iffy about a "desert " like sauce. When we got the pizza it was fresh and good & the sesame seed crush was surprise but was actually good ! We also asked if we could have a little side of the sweet sauce to see what was so good about it, I actually enjoyed it a lot and dipped every slice of pizza i had in it, and my mother wasn't a fan ... said it was too sweet. Overall the pizza is good ( not ur typical new york pizza ).

    (3)
  • Martin C.

The pizza is absolutely amazing but the food is far from amazing. The sweet sauce is one of a kind but not for everyone so they now offer a traditional sauce as well ... I live in Florida now but I still crave this place every so often and I make sure its one of my first stops when back in NY, check it out you wont regret it !!

Pretty good pizza and the service was AWESOME! Lunch special is 2 slices with a medium soda for $5.50. That is a deal. They have two sauces (regular and sweet). I had one of each since I could not decide. That was a great idea so I could sample them both. I would recommend you go for the regular! Sesame seeds in the crust is a total game changer!!!! Check it out!

Guiseppe's pizza has been inconsistent for me, but overall is worth the trip to Huntington Station for those looking to try unique, solid, tasty pizza. Sesame seeded crust provides a wallop of flavor and crispiness to the slices, both on the regular and sweet sauce varieties. The sweet sauce, though, is a bit too sweet for my taste, and I definitely prefer the regular slice more. On one recent occasion, however, two regular slices could not have been more different. The first was well done and delicious; the second seemed like it had been pulled out of the oven way too soon, leaving it doughy, dense, and lacking in the flavor boost afforded by the sesame seeds. Still, all in all, it's a tasty slice with great carryover flavor due to the seeded crust. You'll leave thinking about trying it again.

If this were my restaurant I would never leave the workers alone. They routinely close early and always have an attitude on the phone when the boss isn't there. I can't imagine joe would accept that!!! Eat elsewhere!!!!

I have had a mixed experience with this place. Sometimes its really good and sometimes -not so much. I have ordered pizza usually with the sweet sauce and find it delicious, using it with garlic knots. I also like their old fashioned. I do not try to order some of the other slices on display because I did not have a great experience with those slices in the past. But its usually my go to place to order pizza and I usually have a good experience with it.

I ordered their "gourmet" broccoli and cheddar pizza on whole wheat crust. They called back quickly to let me know they had no whole wheat. I was hungry so didn't care. When the pizza came, though, I was shocked. Their cheddar "cheese" was nothing but cheddar sauce, poured out of a can or squeezed out of a tube (maybe borrowed from from Kraft Macaroni and Cheese boxes). It was runny and didn't even come close to an approximate texture of actual cheese. I'll never order from here again.

Holy crap. This is great pizza. Perfect crust, old fashion sauce, lots of pepperoni. I do realize that arguing about pizza in NY is pointless, but I am entitled to an opinion so here it is: My 2nd favorite slice on Long Island.

  • Rich B.

I am not sure why the sour reviews, but I'll tell you for a fact that my friends and I travel from towns over to go here for their sweet sauce pizza. The combination of the sweet sauce and sesame crust, is an absolute treat. I had a friend who didn't really care for the sweet sauce, but you could get "regular sauce". Also, owner is great guy who always engages in conversations with guests.

  • Jennifer M.

I want to love this place since its so close to home but I cant. After trying it twice (everyone deserves a second chance) I can't take the sweetness of the sauce. I get that some people like that and it obviously works for them but I can't get into it. I do, however like the sesame crust. So they do have that going for them.

  • Dan M.

Sweet and disgusting, tastes like dessert pizza......which is not a good thing. I can eat almost anything and I ended up tossing this pie in the garbage. Your better off ordering from Pizza Hut than this dump.

The only thing I seem to like here is their plain sesame seed crust pizza. Not the nicest building or location but the sweet sauce pizza really is good.

  • Stefan W.

This is my choice for delivery. I'd advise against eating there (especially at night) since the neighborhood isn't exactly the best. If you order a pie, without stipulating sauce or crust, you'll get a pizza that has a very sweet sauce and sesame seeds on the crust. Personally, it's not something I like. I order "traditional sauce" and "no seeds". What comes is a great pie. They have a "gourmet" selection as well (the bacon-cheeseburger pie is to die for), but you might find the crust gets a little soggy in the center with too many toppings. Hero sandwiches are good too, but skip the baked clams - they're all breading in tinfoil shells. Pasta dishes are OK, but a bit bland in flavor.

  • Angela S.

This is absolutely the best pizza I have ever eaten. The sweet sauce with the sesame crust is amazing. 5 stars are really not enough to rate this pizza. I'm serious it's delicious!!

    (5)
  • Thomas B.

I live very near this place and know all about the sweet sauce and sesame crust. I can take it or leave it as far as the taste of the food. But what I really can't stand is the rudeness of the people who work there. They couldn't care less if you are happy with the food or the prices. By the way, the price of a below average meatball parm hero is a whopping $11. After this overpriced hero and the rudeness of the staff, I won't be going back again under any circumstances.

I've lived in Huntington all my life. There are so many good pizza spots around here, but I have to say the first time I tried Guiseppe's, it was incredibly delicious, and so different, in a really refreshing way. I had never tasted pizza like that before. The sweet sauce, and sesame seed crust isn't for everyone, but I personally love it, and crave it more than I crave any other slice in Huntington. I read some negative reviews and was surprised to hear it because every time I have gone in there, I've had really pleasant experiences. I usually just call it in and take it home, but once we stayed and ate at a table there. The guy left my plain slice in the oven for a little longer than normal, so it was slightly browned on the bottom which didn't bother me at all, but he pointed it out to me and then insisted on giving me a fresh slice while also letting me have the slightly burned one. I ended up eating the burned one, and the other 2 plain slices I had ordered. We also had ordered a buffalo chicken ranch slice, which was delicious but we were so full, we just picked off a lot of the top and kind of mutilated it. There was about half a slice left and I took it to the guy to wrap up, and he tossed it in the garbage and gave me a whole new fresh buffalo chicken ranch slice, for FREE! I was shocked. They are really so nice there, maybe the negative reviewers caught them on a bad day, but if you haven't tried this spot, give it a go. They always have coupons in the newspaper too, and I just saw a groupon for them today. Love them!

Their sweet sauce pizza sucks the big one. Horrible experience. Ordered a pizza for delivery and they sent the disgusting sweet sauce one. The whole family was disappointed like you wouldn't believe. I have had slices there late night and they were normal sauce and pretty good.

I am happy to now say that I am a fan of Guiseppe's Pizza. After Louie's Brooklyn got sold and then closed due to fire, we searched for a comparable pizza that would deliver to our house. Remembering Guiseppe's pizza and our previous problems with their sweet sauce, we tried their "traditional" pizza again and really enjoyed it. For a place that is open super late, has great prices, offers delivery to just about anywhere in Huntington and has a nice selection of other food available, Guiseppe's wins.

    (4)
  • Christopher C.

The pizza herer is a good and I love the sesame crust, but what throws me is their sweet style sauce, I preffer savory. It's just too sweet for me to get into. It's overall not a bad place, just the sauce is not my style.

    (3)
  • Maddi G.

pizza is good, customer service stinks. the owner himself "Guiseppe" is rude and abrasive. I have personally had numerous incidents with him and he has even hung up on my boyfriend when he complained. late pizza? wrong pizza after waiting over an hour? CHARGE me for the delivery and then additional because of the wrong pizza?? or wrong order and he was pissed with me because his order person wrote it incorrectly?? charging me $2.50 to deliver, even though I spent nearly $90 for them? yeah... that's what you're dealing with. Perhaps Guiseppe needs to go to business school because this isn't working for him

    (2)
  • Esta F.

I ordered their pizza once and won't order it again. Like others I was totally turned off by the sweet sauce. In fact we threw half the pie in the garbage. Yes, the sesame crust was nice but I grew up in NY and sweet sauce is NOT a Noo Yawk thing!!!

    (1)
  • kevin b.

I want everyone reading these reviews to know you can get the "sweet" sauce as well as a traditional sauce that is not sweet. It sucks that the sweet sauce is put on by default, and you can see from the reviews how (not) well liked it is (I don't like it, wife despises it). BUT with the traditional sauce I consider this to be the best pie around. The sesame seeds are a gimmick that you don't need, and they dint seem to add much, but we get them anyway. MAKE SURE YOU REQUEST TO NOT GET THE SWEET SAUCE.

I always passed this pizza place because of the area it is in. Yesterday I decided to stop because I always wanted to. I am so glad I did because it was the most amazing pizza I have ever had in my life. The crust is amazing with a some sort of hardening on the bottom of it. The texture is simply the best. As for the sauce I was not expecting something that tasted so amazing in my life. It was a sweet tasting sauce and the cheese they use is quality A+. Their spicy buffulo gormet slice was also amazing with blue cheese built into it. I will go 15 miles out of my way to have this pizza at least once every two weeks. I plan on taking my girl their within the next couple of days because they were so good. If you are looking for a traditional pizza they offer it too but I would suggest trying this place because of the sauce and crust. Please open another Guiseppe's on the South Shore!!!!

  • Danielle P.

I am giving this place 5 stars bc it seriously deserves a better rating but truthfully I am giving 4 stars. I like many others have a slight addiction to the sweet slice. The first time I tried it I was confused... the second time I tried it I sort of understood... the third time was a charm... the 4th time I was addicted. It's not just the sauce it's the crust and the thick bits of panko crumbs on the bottom... a lot of pizza places are jumping on the breadcrumbs on the bottom bandwagon... but this place was one of the first I personally can recall ( and they do bigger pieces other places do more small pieces of breadcrumb... I also notice a corn meal craze going on... I can go on and on about pizza I have been to numerous places... I really have become an expert ... its kind of sad actually). I really need to make it known that their regular slice is just as amazing as their sweet and can battle liitle vincents anyday and the really have one of the best sicilian slices I've tried.... the sauce they use is really good. Now let's talk specialty slices..... they have a nice selection... I can tell which ones have been fridged over night tho... but whats interesting is that its those specific slices that actually taste better when they are cooked fridged over night then cooked again (lasagna and alla vodka slice really taste better that way). The slices that involve lettuce and sliced tomatoes are always fresh.... I adore their tomatoe & fresh motzarella slice... amazing. So.... my issue... well.. sometimes I'm scared to say something is wrong with my order ( for instance I need a side of sauce... which really isnt a complaint at all or that I'd like my pizza to be heated up a little more) I get scared because the owner will sometimes berate the work who was "responsible" (for nothing really ) in front of me and it makes me feel horrible... I understand he wants his customers to be happy but it makes me scared the poor guy is going to lose his job all because he forgot my side of sauce. And he does fire people.... a lot. I will say a couple of them truly deserved it (a couple of jerks worked there for a while) but I always love the guy who rings me up and brings me my order.... yet its always this guy who gets the boot. I notice he's had a nice solid team these last 6 months and should keep it that way... I love Pat he's always so nice and puts my order in before I get through the door.... and the guy with the pony tail is like a pizza artist... the spanish guy whose been there for years makes a good pizza ( when he makes the sweet pie he doesnt do the panko... which is annoying yet he makes it soooo good) but he does seem a bit cold and unwelcoming at times but when I have talked to him he's actually really nice I suspect he's just really into making his pizza and sort of forgets to say hi because he truly is concentrating on the food... and he really does an amazing job... he does his own meat topped slice on mondays which is amazing... I also need to give a shout out to the nicenman who runs errands.... hes always been nice to me and works his butt off.... the owner is awesome... he just needs to relax a little with his employees but he makes that sweet pie better than anyone. They need to bring back their guisseppes reward program... I miss getting my well earned free pie every other month.

Guiseppe's Pizzeria Has the best pizza in Huntington Station! But let me clarify...You have to ask for the "old fashioned" or "traditional" pizza. The regular pizza is extra sweetened for some reason. Some people may like that but for me it was odd. The "old fashioned pizza sauce was tasty as was the cheese. The bread crust is toasty with sesame seeds in it...mmmmm!
