Wanted a traditional slice of New York style pizza, and got it here at Pizza Amore. The owner's son and I got to have a good conversation about Chicago verse New York pizza. I think I'm leaning towards New York these days. Anyway, great crust, toppings, and level of grease, and flavor. We also had the Grandma style, which is a square shaped piece of pizza. Anyway, solid joint.

I have had pizza here twice, and both times it was solid. Not epic, but solid. I had the grandma pie, regular plain and mushroom. One knock - canned button mushrooms were used. I like my mushroom fresh from the forest and sliced by hand. But I really didn't expect that here. All in all, I would get it again.

You can't say Pizza Amore without talking about those amazing chicken rolls of theirs.... actually you can but I kind of had to mention them right from the get go. Another pizzeria I grew up with and only recently started to enjoy. Though it's not the most well known place and it's extremely small (it's more for take out if anything) Pizza Amore gives you some good pizza for your money. The staff is really friendly and the service is fine, and though there isn't much room, it's fine to sit and eat there if need be. They don't try to be more than they are and for that they succeed. Now the pizza is overall fine with a good selection and fair prices to boot. I mean I wouldn't say it's anything spectacular but you could do much worse (don't get me wrong though, this pizza isn't bad by any stretch of the imagination). However, the biggest plus for me, and this is worth the extra star, is their chicken rolls... oh the Amore chicken rolls. Those huge wonderful rolls are fantastic. Best ones I've ever had and more often than not it's my go to order. I actually remember one time when I came back from the city, I got there just as it was closing and I got two for the price of one, which only sweetened the deal (granted they were a little stale but hey they were still pretty damn good). Okay I'll stop now. So Pizza Amore is what it is, but I'll take it. Definitely worth a visit once in awhile.

Great pizza. No crazy specialty slices, just good pizza. Their salads are good. Garlic knots, pin wheels, calzones are excellent. The only thing is, it's a tiny place I won't sit and eat a slice because of it.

I visit NY once or twice a year. This is the 3rd time I've had pizza here. It is as good as it gets this side of Italy. Seriously!

Just great Pizza and amazing food, Pizza Amore is run by the nicest Italian family (two Sons and their Parents) you'd ever want to meet. They are now celebrating 26 years in business. You will always see a fresh pie ready to serve, not like some places I've been to that leaves 2 or 3 slices before taking out a new one. Best Grandma pizza around. It's mostly takeout but there are a few tables there for eating in. Joe is usually the one you'll see behind the counter with Mom and Dad in the back cooking up all the food. You'll always see a long row of orders ready to fill when you walk in. People are always stopping by, not just for a slice but just to talk to Joe. All the dishes they make are perfect . The Baked Ziti is made with lots of Ricotta Cheese, the Lasagna loaded with meat!! I miss going there, this was my Pizza Place when I lived in the area. The last night before we moved, the family gave us a free pie just to say goodbye and thanks!! They don't offer delivery but very easy to find, located right next to the Gibson Railroad Station. I still stop by when I'm in the area and Joe still gives my girls a couple of their favorites - the Garlic Knots loaded with fresh Garlic - Perfect!! So, try to stop by there if you can for delicious pizza and I guarantee you'll make a new friend as well!!

Great local pizza spot serving the Gibson area. Family owned & operated. Very authentic New York pizza with great crust! The pizza has been high quality for years and probably always will be. Great for slices of all kinds and take out. They don't do speciality slices which often causes me to take a ride up to road to marinara where I can find ziti, buffalo, whole wheat, etc. however if a regular slice is what I'm after- pizza amorè is where I go!

Being that pizza amore is in walking distance of my parents house, I've been eating it for quick lunches/dinners as far as I can remember! Just had a slice of their grandma pie today and it's my favorite! It's really saucy, with not an overload of cheese, and although that may not be desirable to everyone, I think it's delicious! I also find that it's not greasy at all like most other pizza places which is a definite plus. A grandma pie is definitely my families' go-to, but we are also frequent chicken roll consumers. The chicken rolls here are really good, sometimes could be on the dry side, but nothing a little side of sauce can't fix! I personally love their pasta fagioli. The first time I saw it, I remember thinking it looked so different than my nonna's (italian grandmothers always cook the best) because it is literally bright orange, but surprisingly it's just really really good. My only complaint about the pasta fagioli is that the pasta is always mushy, but with a taste like that I don't really mind the lack of 'al dente'. Cash only, and cheap in comparison to the other pizza places near here! Recommend.

I live down the block, so this place is convenient but we stopped going because we got grossed out. The old man smokes, then he's touching the food without washing his hands. Then the family always seems to be fighting. We don't need drama with our food.

There is a Saint on the counter, two popes on the wall and most nights three generations behind the register. This has become our regular take out place. Good sauce, strong oven, reasonably priced. Leave your credit card in your wallet. This is the type of pie I was raised on and if you spruce up your pie they never skimp on the toppings. Oh and of course they have Ginos for after.

Great pizza, the grandma is the best. The heroes are good and the wait time is very quick. No delivery and very limited seating. The sicilian is really good too.

Damn, can't believe I haven't reviewed this place yet. Pizza Amore: located near Gibson Station and kind of a hole in the wall sort of spot. When you walk in, it's a really small, little restaurant with only a few tables to sit at, as most of their customers take out. I usually stay, however. The guys that work there are awesome and down to earth. What you see is what you get here. If you come here, you will most likely find yourself in some interesting discussion that the owner and the rest of the staff are discussing.I love this place because it's real and there are no apologies for it. The pizza and rolls are pretty tasty and the prices are pretty fair. The one negative is that they accept cash only. Other than that, this place is the real deal! I can't wait for the next chicken roll, conversation about (insert random topic) at Amore's!

That grandma slice is no joke! Regular slices are pretty good too. I also fell victim to a fresh Sicilian pie that just came out the oven. A very good pizzeria in my book.

Pizza Amore is a very decent pizzeria across the street from Gibson station that serves good satisfying food. This place is a dive-y hole-in-the wall, not meant for a sit-in meal but strictly for take out. There are however two small tables to sit down in if you want a quick meal before your train arrives. The people behind the counter are very nice, friendly, and they get your food ready in a jiffy. I'd never had to wait too long for my order. Their pizza is very good, my favorite being the buffalo chicken pizza. They must have a rotation of different cooks because the buffalo chicken slice is different every time I order it. One was so spicy that it was a little painful to eat (very tasty though) and one time the spice was milder and more enjoyable to consume. The pizza is always fresh and good. Garlic knots are nice and garlicky. Will order from here again. Parking is hard to come by, but I believe that you can park in the parking lot by the train station. I would confirm this with the people behind the counter though to be safe.

Pizza Amore is a low-key, hole in the wall pizza place right across from Gibson Station in Valley Stream, but it more than holds its own against the ever popular Ancona, Rosa's and Marinara. Pizza Amore's pizza have a slightly salty sauce and excellent crust, which puts it right in my wheelhouse. Their garlic knots and heroes are really good too, but in my eyes the clear winner are the pepperoni rolls. Pepperoni and cheese wrapped in that bangin' pizza dough, you can't go wrong. They don't deliver, but who cares? Delivery is overrated. Actually it isn't, but still go pick up a pie.

The food: The pizza here is pretty decent. However, I must say this place has the most inconsistent quality that I've ever seen in a pizza place. I have had the buffalo chicken slice a few times from here and each time it is different. The first time I had it, it was covered in tiny chicken pieces and it was VERY spicy and drenched in sauce. The next time I got it, it was better with bigger chicken pieces and an appropriate amount of sauce (no too much, not too little, it was justtttt right!). The place: It is somewhat difficult to find parking, so I usually just walk here. This eatery is very small inside and somewhat of a dive, but it doesn't look too dirty, which is a plus. They only take cash here so keep that in mind before buying something. Conclusion: I honestly wouldn't recommend coming here unless it is convenient for you (maybe you're at the Gibson train station and you want to grab a quick bite). There are much better pizza places in a 1 mile radius (Ancona's or Rosa's). The prices are decent, but I have seen better. All-in-all, I'd say pass.
