I do like diners on LI as each one has it's own little flair. This one has a great dessert called "Mouse Moose Cake" it is very rich but so good. Beyond that the staff is nice, it's clean. It can get very busy. Worst part about this place is the parking lot. It is very small, difficult to navigate because you cannot see another driver coming from the other entrance.

Huge portions! We ordered two breakfast combos and got enough to easily share. I had the Greek omelette combo and my husband had the corned beef hash combo. The service was good. There was a mix up with one of our dishes and our server very nicely took care of it - exactly what would be expected - no attitude. When you walk in, watch out! You will be greeted by a mean joke. There is a huge case of BEAUTIFUL and DELICIOUS treats. Save room or get it to go like we did. Enjoyed a very cute chocolate mousse moues cake with coffee in the afternoon. Yummy!

While driving around looking for a place to grab a late lunch we came across the Broadway Diner. I had gotten a chicken wrap with mozzarella and bruschetta along with homemade potato salad. My girlfriend ordered a chicken cesar wrap, again with the homemade potato salad. The food was good, just like most diners on LI. The waitress was nice and prompt, and the homemade potato salad was good as well. We'd go back if we were in the area and wanted diner food. =)

Broadway Diner is like any other diner on LI. Go in, grab a booth or table, browse a menu with 400 different items to choose from, end up ordering a breakfast item, and eating. This diner is pretty big and is actually in a pretty convenient location. It's across the street from Ikea and the mall so if you're shopping, this is a decent spot to refuel. The food here is just okay. My omelet was pretty dry and the cheese inside was not melted. The hashbrowns were good, though. Service here is spotty, at best. All of the waitresses were busy standing near the kitchen area and gossiping while a bunch of us waited for our checks. We kept waving our waitress over and she kept saying "one minute, one minute". One minute became almost 20 minutes. If you want delicious diner food (if that's even possible) and efficient service, go elsewhere.

I haven't been here in quite some time. Was a regular back in my college days back in the late 90's and it's still good! The full parking lot intimidated me a little, but we got in and seated right away. The waitress was very good and friendly, got our orders perfect. Strong iced coffee!! Hey Now! I'm wide-awake! Anyway good whole wheat pancakes, yummy omelet with veggies and cheese and tasty well done home fries. Don't know what else I can add to the review except that I love the fact they have TONGS to grab a free "urine cookie". You know that jar up by the register full of those cookies people be grabbing them on the way out after using the restroom. Still will pass on them.

It's not a bad diner- typical overloaded menu and pastries out front. As it is with many diners, the food feels overpriced for the quality you get. $6+ for a plate of Ore-Ida fries with shredded mozzarella on top? Give me a break. The food is mediocre at best, nothing ever seems to exceed expectations. I had clam chowder that was particularly awful and salty one time. They sometimes give us free pickles and slaw spread before the meal, but it is not consistent so I don't know if you have to ask for it when you order. It's kinda grimy as the diner is very old and parking can be tricky during really busy times. We mostly frequent it because no other restaurants around are open very late but this place is a 24/7, which is means it is a true diner in my books. (A lot of diners are no longer open 24/7) Staff seems to be competent and as courteous as you can manage to be at 2am.

Having worked near by a few years back, schooled near by (Go Pioneers)and a frequent shopper at the Broadway Mall, I've eaten at this diner a number of times. I get the fact that diners specialize in nothing, yet offer everything as a full plethora of all possible foods that can be represented, should be. But at some point, doesn't the business find a niche, an area that they specialize in, rely on for repeat business? Carve out a segment somewhere? Should I summize that's just my wacky way of thinking, hoping for an item I really enjoy? Because nothing I've ever ordered has any special attributes of flavor combinations, a particular dish they flat out do better than other local spots. Nada, Nein, Zero, Zilch. It could be a deluxe bagel for all I care, give me a reason to retuen, gimme an item I may crave weeks down the road or at any point. I had more eventful meals in military school, whose flagship item was mini pizzas on English Muffins. Sorry to say there is just nothing here that interests me and, sorry to report, really never did.

Perfect midnight snacking or hearty breakfast kind of place. This diner is located right near the movie theatre so after a midnight showing I usually go here for hot chocolate or a burger. Some Saturdays I go for breakfast. Regardless of the time, the service is great, the staff is friendly and it's over a great family environment. The prices are fair for a diner and the crowd is generally families or couples.

What I like here: - extensive menu keeping in line with a traditional diner - fast and friendly service - typical diner ambiance inside, but the place is very clean

My partner and I have been regulars ever since we moved out to Nassau a couple of months back. We usually go for the breakfast special and the occasional late night munchies. The food is inconsistent and the portion sizes always vary. The hosts (who I believe are the owners) are sweethearts but you never know what side of the bed the servers woke up on until you interact with them. I'm posting this review to a share a recent experience and to remind myself why I shouldn't go back. On Valentine's Day 2015, we headed to the diner for breakfast. They weren't serving specials because it was a holiday, so it took us a few extra minutes to look at the menu. Fair enough. When the waitress came over to take our order, I asked for a chicken quesadilla and my partner asked about soup specials. Your standard chicken noodle, matzoh ball, etc. He asked when they had French onion. Releasing a heavy sigh, she said they also had that (which she didn't initially mention). Fine. But if my boyfriend wanted a side of attitude with his breakfast, I would've just picked a fight with him for absolutely no reason in the comfort of our home. Anyway, chicken quesadilla arrives. Where's my guac, I ask. You didn't ask for any, she answers. But doesn't it usually come with it, my mind recollects. Yes, but not everyone likes guac so customers have to ask for it, she responds. I've worked as a waitress. If the establishment is concerned about wasting food, fine, but servers have the added responsibility of relaying this information to customers. That, or just change the description on the menu. Considering how rude she'd been since the moment she took our drink order, I lost it. I didn't enjoy my meal, and listening to her not-so-quietly complain about the people in her section not leaving as fast as she'd like just irked me. Whatever your reason is for dining out, there's a certain set of standards a food establishment should maintain. Unfortunately, this place does not always meet them. Fortunately for their location, losing two loyal customers won't be a huge loss to them.

Been here about 3-4 times for late night chilling with friends. Food was alright, nothing special, and prices were ridiculous like most LI diners. 2 stars. Nothing more to say.

We were a group of 4 adults 2 children. Seated immediately given water, drinks and appetizers.Fresh bread basket with all varieties of crackers with butter. We had the rib eye, squash stewed and chicken soup. Burgers are fresh served with lettuce and tomato with fries or potato. We also had bbq chicken salad served up fresh and crisp. The next order was a grilled chicken salad with delicious grape leaves on top. Kids had chicken fingers that accompany fries and a child's ice cream dish. To complete my dinner I sampled the brown mouse dessert. Excellent chocolate cake with mousse inside. A must try. Centrally located close to LIE and Northern pkwy.parking is a private lot

We were seated at a dirty booth. Next my daughter spilled her drink. They didn't offer napkins to help her dry off. Then they had an attitude about her spilling the drink. They would not give her a new drink. Then I asked for them to cook the mushrooms on my salad but said that was a $3.50 charge. We won't be back.

I have to excuse the naysayers who have recently reviewed this venue. A diner on Long Island , and there used to be more, was always a place to go when you wanted a good down home meal with friends or family. Not a specialty restaurant specializing in anything other than good food and service. Went on Saturday for dinner and place was packed. Welcomed by the manager and seated immediately. The service is fast and efficient. Waitress came right over and asked for drink order and we got coffee and iced tea, which incidentally were refilled regularily. I was in awe at the beautiful dishes being paraded by our table, they were not only tempting but large. We ordered my favorite, Double Dipped French Toast with sausage and my wife got Chicken Salad Platter which was a large portion surrounded by cole slaw, tomatoes, cucumbers. My French Toast was on Challah bread, and the double dip makes it a bit mushy in the middle due to the density of the bread but thats part of the charm...it tastes like dessert when topped with maple syrup. A diner is a place to enjoy a casual meal without havin the formality of a specialty restaurant. Theres lots of regulars who frequent this place which lends charm to the place. The price is a draw compared to the other Syosset and Plainview diners which charge like they are specialty when they are only diners. Broadway diner exemplifies what a good Long Island Diner should be: clean, friendly, efficient with good food at fair prices.

Service was fast and almost friendly. But the food makes up for it. It's your typical run of the mil diner. I stopped in on my way out east. It is right by two parkways so it was an easy pull in and pullout. If you need some grub and are passing by, why not?

We only ordered breakfast from here because it was one of the few places open at 7am on the weekend. Unfortunately, we will never order from here ever! The potatoes were burnt badly that we had to return the food. Usually if it was a little burnt we would let it slide but the food was unacceptable. Wish we took a picture of it. I'm surprised that the chef served it to people. Even with the new batch, all we tasted was pepper. We will just drive a bit further for iHop next time!

Had to stop coming to this place as the service has gone HORRIBLE! Have had many bad expierences due to bad waitress service many many times. Truly unprofessional people working here. I rather go down the road to either Celebrity or Empire diner.

  • Michael E.

I usually went here for the breakfast/brunch with my father. The Broccoli cheese omlette is pretty standard, but the Challah French toast is always very tasty! I may sound like a child, but the Large chocolate milk was very good, and HUGE. I don't see how they make much $ on it, but it comes in a quart size glass. As for the service, it's okay generally, there have been a few occasions where it was slow. If you've never tried, or are on the wall about coleslaw, this place has the best! During the weekdays ask for Sue! She's always does a great job.

I went to the Broadway Diner with a friend of mine one mid-afternoon a few weeks ago. The place was busy but not packed. We both got breakfast (bacon & eggs), which were very good, as was the coffee. Service: prompt and friendly waitress and an attentive busboy. Food: Like I said, very good based on my limited sample. Price: Prices on a par with other area diners. The place is very clean and attractively decorated. I plan on going back, as I live in the area.

Absolute fan of their breakfast menu. Perhaps due to the fact that I'm a picky eater and prefer breakfast items all day. We try to make their breakfast special weekly. This includes coffee/tea, juice or fruit, and a traditional breakfast item for a really good price. I typically order soft boiled eggs with home fries. Every now and then a waiter or waitress won't know what it is and somehow mess it up, but overall it's really good. I also find that some of the wait staff will omit the fruit option if you don't ask for it. Almost like they're trying to cheat you out of it. But the food itself, and the service are really good. I've also tried their lunch special and was amazed at how much food was included. I found myself taking half of it home because it was so big.

This diner was average priced. It is in a pretty good location .. Right across from Broadway Mall. Upon entering re decor was typical diner fashion.. Shiny Metals , mirrors and flowers. The drinks and wait staff came quick. Food was ok .. Mediocre at best. I got a burger, my wife ordered chicken gyro and we ordered a grilled cheese for our son . We would probably give it another try if we were in the area. Diners will be diners.. No pics phone battery was almost dead..

I love the 50s Decor. Very clean diner with plenty of television monitors to stare at. Place can get crowded at times their small triangular parking lot can fill up quickly. Love this place for breakfast the home fries are something to remember. My only gripe this time was the waiter did not come around to check to see how everything was after my order. He was busy chatting with his other coworkers. But other than that he still got a decent tip for me. Overall a little pricey than other diners in the area but the plus side is they're open late when other diners in Hicksville area are closed.

*NOTE 2.5 STARS* Diners on long island are almost identical to each other. They are open 24 hours, they serve breakfast all day and the guy at working the cash register's name is Nikos. Broadway diner is one of these places. You can't really come into a long island diner expecting foodie fare. If you know of a diner serving top notch food please forward it to me. Without a doubt breakfast is the best meal you can get at Broadway Diner. Having had it a bunch of times its the best dishes. The waffles are great which is something a lot of other diners mess up. Unfortunately the rest of food items (lunch & dinner) are very mediocre. I came recently and had dinner. Ordered the turkey dinner plate which is a staple of every diner in america. The turkey was not fresh at al. I'm sure they microwaved it. The stuffing which had apple in it was ok. The gravy was white from the jar gravy. I asked for some brown gravy later and that was powdered. It comes with 2 sides. A potato and a veggie. They have several selections you can choose from. The 2 sides were the freshest things that came on the plate (potato and spinach). The portions are enormous. You are getting a ton of food for your dollar which makes up for the lack of taste. The service here was very prompt. However after our food came out we had to wait a while for the check. The waiter was very nice. If not for the close location to my house I probably would not go back. The best diner I have ever been to was in Oceanside/Long Beach area which is too far a drive for late night drunken breakfast.

What can you say about a Long Island, New York Diner... Crappy Coffee? Just watching the mostly Spanish staff being directed by the Italian owner/managers both speaking their native tongue is worth the visit. It's like watching a well oiled precision machine. The menu is huge since they, like most Dinners, are open 24 hours. Food is great as is service. Portion are ridiculously large so consider splitting a meal. However Coffee sucked, way too weak, like drinking blackened water! Therefore I can't give a 5 star rating since if I go to a Diner it's usually for breakfast.

First off --- this place is perfect if you're ever in need of a light or heavy snack (huge portions) any time of the day or night (open 24/7). The waitstaff are friendly. Sometimes it is hard to get their attention. The closer you sit to the main entry the harder it is to flag someone down. Bathrooms are a great size and not within a nose's reach! They're to the back behind the bar and there's a vestibule between eating and releasing. ;) As far as I know - everything there is pretty fresh. The prices are a little high, especially for something so simple as a grilled cheese, but they're huge portions, and since it's a diner with a tremendously large menu you can flip any dish to however you wish! I definitely recommend sharing a dish among a friend, especially the wraps; GIGANTOR. If something has sauce on it...even something so simple as regular mustard.. be prepared to have your sandwich (or whatever it may be) lathered in sauce! (Highly recommend getting any sauces on the side). There has surely been an improvement in the overall quality of their foods. I have been frequenting this joint since I was young. The major negative nowadays are the TV's they've scattered around. They add noise (even though on minimal volume) and it disrupts the overall atmosphere and sometimes one's train of thought.

Since Broadway Diner was open 24 hours on weekends during part of the year (summer), I went a lot while I lived in Long Island. The servings here are always HUGE, and I've gotten to know some of the waiters personally during the years. Service is fast and efficient, and the food is truly GREAT diner food. Why do so many people go to all these fine dining restaurants with such unreasonable prices, when a lot of the best tasting and quality food can be found at diners such as Broadway :) I usually order the Million Dollar Quesadilla, Chocolate Pancakes, Spaghetti and Meatballs, Salads with Chicken, and different dishes including Steak. Each of these dishes listed were all satisfying beyond expectations, and even when I was full, I couldn't stop eating. I miss Broadway Diner so much :( I will return here whenever I go back to Long Island to visit family or friends.

I've been to this place a couple of times. I like coming back because the service is good. The food is good. And the prices can't be beat. The serving size are huge!! They have an incredibly large selection of food to choose from. Every single time I get a burger and usually will not be able to finish half of it. The quality of the burger is comparable to something you would get at an Applebees or TGIF. Everything comes out real quick. It's great if you want to grab a meal that is going to fill you up without breaking the bank. Nothing fancy but will satisfy your hunger. I can not say anything about the breakfast, seafood, or anything else except the burgers.

I definitely have to admit that this is the better diner out of the few that are in the area & I like the Broadway themed menu paying homage to musicals such as Cats & Phantom on the cover of the menu. Broadway themed diner on Broadway in Hicksville; cute. I ordered the French Dip lunch special & it came with a bowl of soup. I ordered the chicken noodle soup but wasn't too crazy about it since it was a chicken broth that was certainly high in sodium & had no chicken itself. They should really call it chicken broth noodle soup. The French Dip itself was decent, but not great by any means. The mozzarella wasn't really melted too much on the roast beef & the roast beef itself was pretty well done & a tda dry. Thankfully, it's served with au jus on the side & that was quite good so that made it tasty. My friend ordered the buffalo chicken salad & it was gigantic & a lot of lettuce. She ate all the chicken & cucumbers & a bit of lettuce & there was a lot left over. I usually get eggs or challah french toast at a diner & I should've gone that route instead. I will be back & I will order a breakfast special next time. The service was adequate. Our sever was very sweet but she wasn't as attentive as I would've liked & I never was offered a refill or even had the opportunity to ask her because after our food came out, the next time we saw her when we were done. It's a diner, so I suppose I should come to expect mediocrity, right?

Not bad. Came here for breakfast. Had a over easy egg with toast and canadian bacon. Tasted okay. Food was good for what it is. Prices are decent, and service was friendly. Can't say much about the speed of the service since we were not even any kind of rush. It was as I expected.

New Owner and interior, we come here for a complete meal and there is always a take home for the next day. I get the fish platter and it is always fresh. The service is very good. This place have become our favorite place. We enjoy being here......

Came here late Saturday night for there nighttime menu. So glad we did. Prices were decent not cheap but not too expensive. They had a special for nutella pancakes... i was so tempted to get them but I did not. I got the buffalo chicken wrap with fries and gravy. My boyfriend got a coffee with some kind of breakfast wrap. I do not want to get all crazy over a buffalo wrap but I got to say it was the best I EVER have. And I have had so many. Most dinners make these so crappy, and they still taste like they came out of a freezer box. NOT THIS ONE. I swear it was so huge, juicy, fresh, and just uber yummy. Fries were good too, needed a little salt. But I literally think this place had the best buffalo wrap ever! My boyfriend gobbled his wrap in two seconds. SO idk... this place gets a bad rep sometimes... maybe they are trying to change things up? I say check out the late night menu. It is very small! Do not be fooled! It is small with one side of about 5 desserts, and another side of about 4 breakfast items and 1 wrap.

Making this quick. Ordered calamari. They came out the width of thick onion rings. Ok good Ordered some turkey BLT. Came out huge portion with fries. Like huge. But turkey meat drier than Sahara. Ugh Ambience ok. There is wet bar First diner experience. Not very favorable. But a start

Got the greek wrap here and was surprised at the size of it. Portion was fairly large in my opinion for a wrap. Grilled chicken was good in the wrap so I enjoyed it fries were typical frozen fries. I enjoyed my wrap but the waitress was not good. My stuffed grape leaves were missing and she never came over to check on us after the food came. So I already ate half of the wrap because I was hungry when she finally came over and I told her it was missing she just stared at me for awhile and then asked if she should go get me one...um yes? that would be nice. My boyfriend got an omelet and really enjoyed it...but stay away from the home fries...they were like box mashed potatoes clumped together and cooked on a flat top to get them crunchy. They were gross I would've given it 3 stars but service was bad and parts of the food were mediocre.

  • Billie F.

Stopped by the Broadway Diner because we were shopping at Ikea and just happened to be nearby. My boyfriend got his usual Chicken Parm wrap with a side of blue cheese and I got a salad. The place is nice and clean. Their menu is typical diner menu with some additional items that make it a bit more unique.

Service was decent, staff was a tentative. Many of the booths have huge rips in them so you're sitting on a hole with no cushion just torn up booth... Had a patty melt tonight and it was a greasy disgusting mess... Slapped together, the bread was hardly grilled. French fries seemed almost raw and I asked for a side of onion rings which was forgotten about. I have had good experiences and bad experiences there this time the food was ehh, waiter was a nice guy.

Broadway diner is the closest diner to my house. Diners are amazing. This diner makes really large portions of Eggs and omelettes and will actually "Well Done" your homefries when you ask ! (I've been a waitress and have ignored that request myself) Tip: If you sit on the right side of the restaurant, you get better service. They also have the best Black & White cookie I have had on all of Long Island. I am very excited for my birthday when I order their Rainbow Cookie cake.

I always have a nice time here. And one of the few restaurants that open 24 hous! Yay! I've tried the quesadilla, eggs benedict, and chicken cesar salad here. Their portions are HUGE! They look like they were prepared for giants.. You should share a plate with someone. Otherwise the food was all pretty good here. The cesar salad was a little bit disappointing cus it was literally a mountain of grilled chicken on lettuce. It would've been nicer with other things mixed into the salad. Their cold slaw was really good! Overall chill place with decent food and cheap prices!

  • David R.

This the most overrated and overpriced diner in the area. The large crowds boggle my mind. Their food is so one note. Large portions, sure. Quality food, certainly not. The staff is up and down. I have tried all the diners in the area and this one is such a let down. Go anywhere else. No creativity in the kitchen. And for these prices there are so many great restaurants you would be better off at. I am getting more upset just writing this review. It reminds me of how many times I tried to give this place another chance only to be angry and feeling taken after another subpar meal. Oh and it was one of the most watered down, tepid cups of coffee I've had in my life.

    (2)
  • Court M.

Probably the worst diner I've ever been to. Food is simply sub par to that of a typical Long Island diner...which is seemingly impossible.I've given it a few tries throughout the years but unless your hungover and just want some greasy fries save your money. Even so McDonald's is right across the street. Coffee was the only good part of my entire breakfast at my most recent and final visit. I ordered an egg wrap for breakfast and it had NO taste. Figured I would season it a bit and add some flavor with Tabasco but they were completely out of it as well as any other hot sauce!! The home fries on the side were greasy and burned with little flavor other than the salt I piled on top. Rye toast tasted like white bread??? I ordered grapefruit juice which looked and tasted more Hi-C like pink lemonade...took one sip. Yuck! Diners are designed to save you time and money yet still provide you with an enjoyable dining experience. Drive a little further to Syosset or woodbury where you can have a much better meal.

    (2)
  • Angela R.

Way overpriced! I mean ridiculous! They give huge portions of sub par food. Service is a hit or miss. I keep giving it another try only because it's so close to my home and couldn't be more disappointed each time. Pass on this diner, save your money. The only reason I didn't one star is because it's clean and nice atmosphere.

Ive been to this diner plenty of times. First of all the service is great and they have some very nice servers. They have the best pancakes in the world and I will never have a bad review of their food. This is one of the best diners in Long Island

  • Deanna F.

I mostly go here late at night because the location is convienient and well...they dont close! The service is pretty fair and so is the food. I havent had my order come out wrong yet. The only time ive had a problem is my most recent time we sat in the corner and tried getting the waiters attention multiple times for more water and napkins and it was close to impossible. Other then that the food was tasty. The prices are a little on the expensive side for a diner but there arent that many other choices in hicksville for a burger at 1 am.

  • Ricky I.

This place is pretty good. It's your typical diner fare and delivers what you might expect. The food is good. My personal favorites are the French dip an pretty much any of the breakfast. They have a good selection of sandwiches, dinners, and soups so it should be easy for everyone to find something they like. Service is usually fast when I go and not an issue. I really like how this place looks. It catches your eye from the road and is nice, modern and clean inside. Overall a pretty good place. (although I prefer the Thomas diner located just down the road).

    (4)
  • FN R.

Over done presentation of the plate. You expect it to taste great- but bland and way over cooked. (I had one of the house specials The Seafood Trio). It has a red dusting of something on it but no salt no pepper absolutely no taste. Stick to your diner food- cheeseburgers, breakfast foods, overstuffed sandwiches and desserts. Wait staff very attentive.

    (3)
  • D O.

You get exactly what you might expect at a diner, it's clean, and the service is good. Food is ok, but nothing to write home about. Pancakes were ok, bacon was soft, syrup served in packets. I'm going to try another place next time.

  • Anthony F.

I'm only giving this place one star cuz the omelette I had was pretty good. Other than that, NOT happy. 3 omelette's and a waffle took about 25 minutes to come out. Waiter was terrible; never came back even once to refill coffee or even to ask if we were ok or needed anything; when the food finally came out, he then tells my mother there were no strawberries left that were supposed to come with it, so he was just giving her a plain waffle. Didn't even bring the syrup/butter, didn't bring out everyone's toast for like 10 minutes after the food, didn't bring toast at all for one of us. 2nd cup of coffee (brought out after flagging down busboy) was like mud, cold, and had grounds in it. My wife's omelette had a carrot in it, my moms blueberries had a piece of broccoli in it. And the waiter didn't bother asking if we wanted a dessert or anything; not that we would've but then again he never came back AT ALL! NEVER going there again. Massapequa Diner forever.

When I'm in the mood for diner food, this is the place I go to. It's your typical diner, however, I think the food is better than most diners. I usually get the french toast breakfast here with eggs. I also recommend the fish and chips or the burger. It's nothing spectacular but again I think it's a lot better than most of the other diners I've tried.

Came here on Thursday night and they were very quiet. Tons of seating available. I have to say, this is one of the better looking dinners around. Service was very slow and it was pricier than other diners.

Our waitress Niki was awesome: very attentive and had a smile. Even came back to confirm how I wanted my burger cooked! Loved the onion rings -- the big kind. The burger was cooked to medium as I requested. The wife liked her turkey burger, it was fresh and juicy.

I must be honest and say this review is based on my most recent visit on 4/27/14. I live with walking distance to this place and have dined there several times. It is USUALLY very good. However, this past visit was like not up to par. Our waitress came over and was very cold and distant. She took our order like she was held at gunpoint. Food came out fine but the service was awful. We were not checked on, coffee was never refilled. At one point she came and just said what do you need? After I started looking around to see where she was. Just very rude and unpleasant. Place is nice, food is good, service needs work.

We stopped in for lunch before heading to Ikea. I ordered a gyro & my husband ordered chicken wrap. Our lunches came with a soup & a salad on the side. The servers were polite but overall I wish we would have just eaten at Ikea. The soups were not fresh & tasted like they came from a can. The salad had huge chunks of green bell peppers.... Who eats huge blocks of green peppers like that??? My gyro was ok .... the best part was the white sauce they put on it. The decor was loud & a little too much for me. Overall this place just had a weird vibe to it & the food was quite forgettable !!

It's a diner - with typical diner fare. My daughter likes it, she thinks they invented bacon cheeseburgers here, it is the first place she had one. That would be memorable for anyone I guess, your first BACON CHEESEBURGER. Food's OK, not exceptional. I like a good soup - I didn't find any treasures here. I asked for a pizza - or sauce and cheese baked on a pita, or bagel, or the like - they served me a disgusting soggy wet mess. It was a wrap, like a samdwich wrap soaked in watery tomato sauce covered with mozzerella cheese and MICROWAVED. When I OBVIOUSLY didn't like it - the waiter (who had been embarassed to even serve it) made an attempt to get it removed from the bill - the management said... and I quote: "THATS WHAT SHE ORDERED NOT OUR FAULT SHE DON'T LIKE." I tipped well - he tried.

Three friends & I went to Broadway Diner for breakfast. This is not my first time there. The food was good, as there is always plenty. The staff was very accommodating when we asked to change tables. We had a great waitress. There are a few times we went to the diner and the service was slow. For the most part, I would recommend Broadway Diner.

Typical diner. Very large portions. Had the tuna melt (which was as expected) and didn't come close to finishing everything with the mountain of fries it came with. Good spot for a sandwich, breakfast is "ok". Service was fine.

This is by far my favorite diner in Nassau County. We come here at least once a week. Never had a bad meal, and the staff have always been nice. Great place.

The decor was ok. Just went for lunch. Services was less than mediocre. Food took forever even though we only ordered an omelette and a wrap. Fine, after what felt like forever, the food finally came. Less than mediocre food. They say food tastes better when you're starving. And it still tasted mediocre. Definitely not coming back and would not recommend. The only reason I didn't give a one star is because they weren't absolutely terrible. But close.

As a Florida native, I come to NY for the food. I ate at the Embassy Diner, last time I came to visit family in Long Island. I was amazed at the pancakes. They were crispy on the outside and perfect on the inside. Foolishly, I thought all food was the same in the Empire state... I was wrong. I was told that this diner had changed management (shrugging) and was now owned by a Greek family. In any event, I ordered one of their combo breakfasts which included eggs, pancakes and sausage. The waitress takes my order, and all seems right with the world. My father in-law gets his French Toast, and while it looks awesome, he says it tastes chalky. He asked the waitress to send it back and change his order to pancakes. The waitress was clearly not happy that he sent the food back. As she grabbed his plate she let out a huge annoyed sigh. Rude! Also, all of our 4 breakfasts came with fruit salad. For some reason, the server only brings out 3 salads. Asking her for the additional salad was like treading on egg shells. She acted like I had asked her to shine my shoes while I ate. I get my breakfast and it there are no eggs on the plate. I ask if my egs are coming out later. In her thick Greek accent, she retorts that I didn't specify that I wanted eggs. Meanwhile I ordered the "#8" which included eggs. Not wanting to cause a scene or have my food spit on, I let it go. I wasn't charged for the eggs, so I wasn't going to raise a stink. I eat my pancakes. They were okay, but not nearly as good as the one I had at Embassy. Not a fan.

This "50's rockabilly" theme diner is everything you'd expect a traditional diner to be. Like most diners, the menu is huge. I've never understood how a restaurant can be able to offer so many different choices. The inventory of goods must be huge. Offering excellent food for all the years I've dined here, the staff is not gushing, but friendly enough, and the all night dining an excellent choice for late night hunger. The decor is clean, trendy, and neat. Take note, I've seen many local diners open and fail, many with good service and food. This place seems to be a perennial favorite as I've never seen it empty once. Perhaps it's the location? Weekend mornings, there will be a wait and may be best avoided. I hit the Broadway up after hours when there are relatively few people dining. Consistently decent/good food, huge menu selection, good portions, decent staff, nice decor and good value. If diners are your thing or it's late night, you won't be disappointed.

I was there for a late breakfast (11am-ish) on a weekday. It was not very busy, but picked up a bit with the lunch crowd while we were there. We had typical a diner breakfast. Me: french toast, eggs, and sausage. The french toast was thick and yummy, eggs properly done (over easy). The sausage was average, I think they could probably pick up a better kind. My friend had pancakes, eggs, and bacon. All very good. Service was quick and friendly, she didn't mind filling my coffee cup four or five times. Not sure if I'll ever have the occasion to go back to the Broadway Diner, but I certainly would if the opportunity presented itself.

Best Diner in Hicksville in my opinion. Great Service. Quick turnaround time for food. Food is up to par if not better than some similar diners I've been to. And bathrooms are spotless. The only downside to this place is the limited parking especially with the amount of traffic that comes to this diner. The Oreo cheesecake is a must try!!!!

Rude. Rude. Rude. I'm amazed at my self control for not punching the older gentleman (owner/manager). I've been here a couple of times with my husband and toddler, our last visit was on fathers day. I know it's a holiday and the staff was busy but that's no excuse for greeting us with a scowl and barely acknowledging us. Our food was fine and server great. My son was playing with the pepper shaker and spilling some pepper on the table. The older man who greeted us, came over, YANKED the shaker out of my sons hand, and took away out salt shaker as well. No explanation. First of all, do not touch my child if you have a problem ask/address me not my 20 month old child. Second you are a DINER not a 5 star establishment so please don't get your panties in a bunch if some kid is playing with your pepper shaker. Never returning here!

This has the 'look' of the classic stainless steel greasy spoon diner, but it's sooo much better. The quality of the decor screams million dollar. The meals are prepared by a chef, and a good one. Everything comes out with the food plates decorated. I got the seafood stuffed chicken breasts, which was a pretty good deal for about $19 including drink and dessert. But, when I got my food, it was actually FOUR stuffed chicken breasts over a bed of delicious rice. Each breast could have been a meal in itself. Would have easily fed 2 or 3 people. Even the dessert was huge. The menu is huge. So big in fact that it hits the person on the other side of the table. This is a high class restaurant with delicious food NOT like everywhere else, disguised as a diner.

We stopped by for lunch while in the area, and were pleasantly surprised. Most diners are hit or miss, but Broadway Diner is a cut above the rest. The decor is modern retro chic, and everything looked spotless. The buffalo chicken salad portion is huge, and it was excellent. Hubby's turkey burger platter was very satisfying. The dessert case was packed with fresh looking goodies, but we were too full to splurge. Will definitely be back for brunch.

I had breakfast recently at the Broadway Diner. The place has a great location and it is very clean and nicely updated. The service is what you would expect at a diner, friendly and easy going. However with the updated decor and the slightly high prices I expected tastier food. I had the powerhouse wrap for breakfast, turkey, egg whites and some veggies on a whole wheat wrap. Sounded good, but it was very very bland and dry. Some salt and pepper would have helped a lot! SInce it was in a wrap it was impossible to season. So if you're in the area, skip the diner and go somewhere else. You will get better food for the same money spent.

Four of us went for brunch/lunch on Sunday at noon. Place was packed and there was a 10- 15 minute waiting list. Parking was overflow into the supplemental parking lot across the street. The restaurant was large, full of tables and booths. The menu was a giant size manifest. Very clean, nice-looking modern decor. Busy, busy busy...... After all the hubbub, the menu choices were entirely predictable diner foods and the food was completely average. Nothing at all memorable or motivating a second visit. Service was a bit slow and indifferent though cordial, and portion sizes were large. Can't see a reason to seek this place out again or to understand why they were so busy. Usually a big crowd means something really good is going on. The place is also a bit overpriced . To sum up--- Meh.

Broadway diner was renovated a while ago as many are saying, so everything is very proper now. If you are local of the east end of long island, you don't have many choices any more, so this place is really the only good to place if you are looking to get some great food. I really can't comment on much but the BBQ sauce is really amazing here! A bite pricey, but what can you expect it's a diner, they are all the same. I have never experienced a sit down in this place, since I take out, but this place really has some charm to it. Just double check your order if you can because when kids are in the element especially if it's a big order, it will most likely get messed up.

Broadway diner was renovated recently, so everything is very clean and new looking. The boots are comfy, and private. I really enjoy coming here for breakfast, their challa French toast is fantastic, especially topped with strawberries and walnuts. I also really like their hash browns, made from very thinly mandolined potatoes crisply fried, and unsalted. I like my food unsalted, and there is a shaker right on the table to add your own to taste. Lunch options are also very good, and plentiful. Standard diner fare, reasonably priced. The parking lot is too small for the dining room, but there is an empty lot across the street at the closed Circut City that's available for overflow.

I kind of like this place for a late night stop when I want something a little more nutritious than bar food. It is convenient to a few highways so it is easy to hop off the LIE or Northern State, eat and get back on your way. All the usual diner foods are available and the service is pretty good no matter what time you roll in there.

Was here a few years back and was hassled by ownership over a pastrami sandwich. It was literally over $2 and the waitress made a mistake and the manager wouldn;t honor it.. Haven;t been back since... Treat your customers like kings and they will return so many times that a few freebies make for good business..

Judging by the complete makeover this diner recently got (and the dates of everyone's reviews) I'm going to go out on a limb here and say it's under new management. I had been here a few years ago and didn't really enjoy it, either. The first time I went to Broadway Diner with its new makeover (May 2009) I ordered a veggie burger which was pretty good. It probably wasn't made on site but it tasted like it was, anyway. The second time I got a REALLY delicious veggie panini. I would go again just to get this. Good fries, too. I went here with a fairly large group of family members and everyone really enjoyed it. So, to all those who wrote a bad review, I'd consider giving this place another try because it will probably be a much better experience. Oh, and the desserts are SO GOOD.

My favorite diner in the area! Services is always great and the food doesn't taste like the typical diner food. Their pancakes beat IHoP by a mile, so fluffy, perfect flavor, yum! One of my favorites is the Powerhouse Breakfast Wrap with egg whites, spinach, tomatoes and turkey breast. The greek salad that comes with dinner combos is great.

Not terrible, not great. Defintely not the pinnacle of diners in general, but it's convienent. Sadly, it's $8 for a grilled cheese and french fries. It's a little on the expensive side for what they are serviing there. The eggs are OK; I haven't ordered the pancakes or anything much else yet. LOVE the "claw" machine at the front. Whenever I play, I almost always win something. This is what makes the Broadway Diner a full 3 stars.

The food was tasty. The waitress was very friendly and prompt although the kitchen was a little slow. It was loud and boisterous enough that I didn't have to constantly hush my kids, but they could use some crayons and coloring books. If I'm in the area again with the family it's probably where we will go to eat.

After our disappointing sojourn to the Kozy Shack for pudding, we stopped here for lunch before getting back on the highway home to Brooklyn. In Levittown, the Friendly's was a Friendly's, so this was our only less-than-good meal of the weekend adventure. Your average diner, the Broadway features a full menu of practically everything you could possibly want from a restaurant of its kind. We both got the egg salad sandwich, C. plain, and I with French fries, lettuce and tomato (deluxe!). The egg salad was disappointing. The sandwiches didn't come on toasted wheat bread as we both requested, so they were difficult to pick up and eat. And the egg salad itself was mealy and oddly flavored, almost as though it'd been cut with cottage cheese. Not a fan. We were glad to get back on the road, and I'll not return. You'd be better off eating at the Ikea nearby!

So went back yesterday evening, went out to dinner with my mother and she decided she wanted to come here. I urged her to choose another place but she insisted. Out waitress was very nice, extremely pleasant, it didn't feel like we were forgotten. We got the stuffed baked clams as an appetizer, very good actually. I ordered the Mamma Mia wrap for dinner, it was supposed to be grilled chicken, scallions, bruschetta, mozzarella cheese, and red onions, I asked for no red onions and there was none. My mother got the chicken Caesar salad, our waitress told us that the dressing was never put inside and that she would bring out dressing with the wrap, it was a basic wrap which was supposed to have any that you would find on a Caesar salad. Our wraps were brought out, the bruschetta on mine was pretty much well not there, period. All that was on the wrap was chicken, mozzarella and tomato, there was barely any spices and if there was bruschetta then it wasn't there, I was told that the red onions were in addition to the ones in the bruschetta which is why I asked they not be in there because I really didn't feel it necessary to have an overload of onion. But I didn't complain too much, didn't feel the need, it was good but lacked any spice. My mothers wrap had to go back because the dressing was literally in gobs on the wrap, the waitress seemed just as surprised, and said they never put dressing inside or else I wouldn't have given you extra. When it did come back my mother wasn't too happy with the wrap, it was chicken and lettuce, not croutons or Parmesan cheese inside. She only had half of a half and I had one half so we decided to pack up the meal, and waited for a order we had asked to have to go for someone. We got home and found that neither one of our orders had fries, even though we both had the majority of our fries left and my mothers remainder of her first half of the wrap was not there, as stated in a previous review we have had issues with missing food. We went back and were told that they thought we had not wanted the fries or the rest of the wrap, the owner was very nice and prepared us new fries and another wrap for my mother, we also made sure he knew our waitress was not the one to wrap it but a manager was. I have begun to notice in other food establishments that they give you the box to pack it yourself or do it in front of you. I assume to make this problem never happen. I will most likely never go back here again now, I figured after having not been there for so long there wouldn't be any issues. Boy was I wrong.

i think this is where i went to lunch with my boss one day (who will eat anything) but it wasnt even like a semi-good diner with good food. like most diners you go to you know you're not going to get like 4 or 5-star dining, but its just ehh diner food. keep in mind that i love diners, love hanging out at diners, love eating at diners real late at night or just sitting with friends and having coffee. however, i wouldnt really want or consider coming here for that (and not because its in hicksville)

Under new management hasn't helped. My second time here in 2 months and the last. I ordered the special from the whiteboard. You would think the waiter would know how to explain the dish - orange beef stir fry - but he wasn't sure. He returned with an explanation that sounded good so i went for it. You would expect the chefs special to be good and fresh right? Turned out to be large thick slices of beef with the fat not trimmed on a bed of uncle bens rice with brown gravy and chunks of poorly peeled orange. No stir fry. The drinks - rasberry iced tea and my sons vanilla shake were just barely drinkable they were so sweet. My son didn't finish his. Service was mediocre. Prices are way too high. Reviews here are over-rating this place.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
