The brunch menu is great! Eggs benedict is so tasty and delicious. If you prefer steak that is cooked the way you want it. The resturant is clean and the tables are always ready for patrons. The drinks are on point. The service is decent. Always a choice where to be seated. A family favorite.

Place sucks. Food used to be good. But too expensive. And the staff is rude! Will not be coming back or ordering from this place.

Ordered on seamless and got a cold burger, soggy fries, wrong sides, wrong drink. Threw everything out. Would not recommend getting a delivery from here.

Definitely the best food I've ever had. Amazing brunch. I come here twice a month and am always pleased. The staff is great and customer service is always on point. Highly recommend anyone to eat here, you'll love it!!!!!!

This place is going downhill fast. The food is delicious and good quality/portions, but the man on the phone is so rude. I could go into specific examples, but it's clear that he doesn't empathize when you have a legitimate complaint. He will NOT apologize, but quickly offers a replacement. Of course, I want it corrected, but customer service involves more. It involves caring that your customer is upset and looking to make it right not only this time, but in the future as well. He just wants you off the phone.

I gave it a star cause i had too. This place sucks. It sucks so much we didn't get to finish our food. It sucks so much it doubles sucks that I didn't take my food home. And the waitress there was horrible, service is a no never go.

It's the kind of late night, breakfast anytime greasy spoon that hasn't changed much in 50 years and doesn't need to. This isn't breaking any culinary ground but it's solidly edible. I'm afraid to order anything with seafood but for waffles/pancakes, a burger or any kind of diner fried junk, you'll be ok. 3 stars for the food and 1 star for fast service and a huge menu.

If you are looking for good diner food at a great price look no further.. Nothing fancy to talk about but great diner food.. The place is huge and has a very large menu.. From a-z. Even drinks! Service is good very friendly and attentive..

Husband had fried shrimp and a baked potato with the house salad. The shrimp batter was too thick. The baked potato and house salad were good. I had shrimp fettucini it had a little too much sauce. But otherwise was good. Had a blue margarita, which I didn't love. We'd return.

I ordered deliveries from Grubhub here almost weekly when I was lucky enough to be in its delivery zone. I loved the boneless buffalo wings and artichoke dip. Sometimes, we would get breakfast delivered too, but the best part about it was the free cheesecake scoops that came with the order. It's the perfect no-frills diner with a huge menu and prompt deliver service. I also loved the Caesar with chicken. I miss it!

I have many years coming to this restaurant & everyone has to order, I REPEAT, has to order 2 things. 1.) The caviar spread is ridiculous & 2.) The baked clams WOOOOW. Lately the menu has been revamped & I must be blunt you must try everything that has been added to their new menu. The crab cakes eggs benedict ARE a must have. It is the most succulent crab cake patties hands down. Their soups are also a must have. They're made fresh daily & are never watered down (which is veeeery important). Another one of my faves is the Buffalo Chicken Pizza !!! The reason I can eat here everyday is because all their food is made from scratch & always fresh, you never get let down. The term "quality over quantity" applies to what this establishment has to offer. I'm not too sure as to why land & sea gets negative reviews. I'm my honest opinion, they will forever be 5 STARS hands down !!!!!!!

This is one of my favorite places to order from and go to. I've been going there since I was a little girl and it's only gotten better with age. I've never been dissapointed in the food or drinks. I've had the steak chicken crab legs (which are my favorite) salads and so on. The service can be slow but always nice. So if your looking to take your time and eat a great meal with a fantastic frozen drink. This is where you want to be.

I am in love with the vanilla milkshakes!!! I had never tasted one so good until I came here. In fact, I asked the staff to provide me with the name of the ice cream they use. No luck there...oh well. The staff is very professional and the decorum is nice. I usually eat here between 7 pm and 12 am. I haven't been there in awhile but I would love to go back. I even tried to order online but the distance is out of their zone. Pffft!!!

The best diner in the area! There delievery service has improved so much. I always deliever from here and the food comes hot and fast. Their Santa Fe wrap is one of my many favorites. Only suggestion i would give is 24 hour delievey:)

It was a late Friday night and surprisingly the place was pretty empty. A few groups came in but nothing crazy. The portion sizes are big. Both of my friends had more than enough to take home. I had crab cakes and they were great. The appetizer was enough serve as a meal. The drinks are decent. The place could use a bit of an upgrade but hey, it got the job done.

I love this place! So many childhood memories there. The service and food have always been great. I especially love the burgers. I can't seem to order anything else from there lately. They're caviar spread is amazing as well and the drinks from the bar are always on point. Love this place!

I have been coming here for years as a child with my dad who happens to come here almost every week for breakfast and lunch! Last time I came I ordered the Stuffed clams which was so disappointing, I think they changed the way they make it (or the cook) but other than that I love the bread and spread they give and unfortunately our fave waiter passed away but I loveeee their turkey soup and steak! Still grateful to have an old school Mom and Pop diner so it outweighs all the bad! YOU rock Land & Sea!

By far the worst diner I have ever been to. Customer service is horrible. Food is horrible. Had to send back the order 3 times then gave up all together. Not worth it at all

One of my favorite restaurants to order from. Delivery is always fast and on the rare occasion that something isn't done as ordered, they fix it right away. I do steer more towards their delivery services because I feel the service provided by a lot of the wait staff is consistently slow. If you're not really worried about time, then the atmosphere in the location is really nice. Definitely worth checking out.

I had take-out, the food was good. Stuffed clams with crab meat was delicious! I had the spicy chipotle burger deluxe and it was okay for the simple reason of there was hardly any chipotle sauce in it. I basically had a burger with bacon and onions. Also I found their menu on grub hub and there was a coupon of a free slice of the days cake with any purchase over $25 (which was what we ordered) BUT, it wasn't a slice. It came in that mini ketchup/mayo container. That was disappointing.

I had dinner here on Saturday, March 29th. The food here is great and the portions are great as well. However, service is slow! Unacceptable! The place is never very crowded, so there is no reason to have customers waiting 10 minutes for cocktails! The prices here are very reasonable, however customer service is in great need of improvement! The waiters need to improve on returning to the diners tables occasionally to make sure everything is OK! Also the menu's need to be updated, they are very heavy and old-fashion/ out-dated in appearance. Come on Land & Sea customer relations is very important-you do want customers to come back!

Headed there go dinner. The diner is a flashback to the 1980's cause the booths and decor has not changed since. Like a old Atlantic city casino. So ordered chicken Alfredo and it was good. Nice and tasty. Also served bread with yes caviar. That's different. Overall the food is good. Will be back.

Our neighborhood's difficult to find anything in after about 11pm or so. Your options are pretty much pizza or diner food. This is the sort of place no one actively chooses to order delivery from when there are more than pizza as an alternative. That said, we've orderered here more than I'd like. But the last order, a turkey burger, was I think the last time. As a tip: be sure to be very hungry, and the food as hot as possible. Once it cools down you will see your turkey burger has the consistency of an ancient shoe. I tried to eat it. I guess I hate wasitng money, so much that I'll eat a frickin' grey shoe. I really did try and eat it and think about how maybe the apocalypse and the post apocalyps won't be that exciting after all because this is probably what we will eat in our tunnels underground. Ah the future, now at Land & Sea.

I ordered both the California Grilled Chicken Sandwich, and the Cajun Chicken Santa Fe Sandwich, both orders with fries. Those sandwiches were delicious! All white meat breast... Fresh lettuce, tomato, pickles. Breads were toasted nicely. And the coleslaw and french fries hit the spot. I am definitely excited to see what other goodies from here await,

  • Bob B.

Loved it. I was reading all the negative reviews and I see some of their points but you must judge at face value. It's a diner, no Le Cirque. However, it's got a ton more personality and atmosphere than a normal diner. The decor looks more like a family restaurant and the service was attentive. As per many diners, the menu was the size of War and Peace. Lots of diversity. I had buffalo wings to start. I prefer them with the hot sauce still dripping of them. These were fried crispy dry. However, they were meaty and tasty. Not bad. Then I had the porterhouse. Again, I'm not at Luger's or Bobby Van's so I wasn't looking for dry-aged prime beef. What I got was a decent slab of beef cooked as ordered with a nice salad and potato. Best meal ever? No. Quality for the dollar paid? Absolutely. One negative. I ordered iced tea. Perhaps I should have been specific. I got pre-fab, pre-sweetened tea. I lived in the south for awhile. I hate that stuff. Maybe I should have asked for brewed tea or maybe they don't have it but I detest sweet tea. I don't get it when that happens around here. Not just this restaurant but others as well. Brewed tea is cheap to make (not as cheap as a five gallon box of Nestea Sweetened Syrup) but still cheap. We're in New York, not Savannah, Georgia. Please pony up for the real tea. Sure, you have to actually make it rather than pour it out of a dispenser but it is so much better. Hell, you can make it in your coffee machine. Other than the tea issue, I was satisfied. Decent meal for the price. Way better atmosphere than your average diner. Massive amount of choices, perhaps too many. I'm anxious to try their other food and will do so. Beats going to that greasy spoon Louie's Dale Diner or the other diner on 231 and Broadway that just re-opened. I'll remember that next time I stumble out of Keenan's or Piper's Kilt late at night hungry. Again, it's a diner. It just looks nicer and is more comfortable than a diner. Remember that when you judge. Comfort food, not Michelin recommended. 5 stars for service though. At least two persons other than my primary server were all over me the minute I sat down. Friendly, attentive, prompt. I'll go back. Wouldn't take a date there but would go with buddies or by myself for sure. As long as it isn't after normal dining hours it looks family friendly as well.

I love this place! It's open 24 hours and even though the menu is extensive, at least I know that any craving that I have can be fulfilled. I am partial to shrimp and pancakes and this spot never disappoints. The jumbo shrimp are huge and the pancakes are delicious. My husband and I have tried many entrees including the omelets and we've never left dissatisfied. The portions are a bit large for me, but hey, that's what husbands and carry out boxes are for. The prices are great and so is the service. The diner could use some updating on its decor, but then they'd have to close temporarily due to renovations and that just would not work for me at all. LOL!

  • Devin L.

Pretty solid diner. I was totally impressed that they had my NJ special Taylor Ham. I mean honestly it's pretty tough to screw up breakfast, so this place was fine. Easy to get to, looks clean. The pancakes were really good, as was the Taylor Ham. Other than that a standard diner.

This place is mediocre at best...I only been here a few times, and as much as they try to make it a more upscale restaurant...it just doesn't make the cut. It's relatively "ghetto" for a lack of a better word, but usually when my friend and I are hungry...and have nowhere else to go, this would be our last resort. As for the food, the waiters are friendly. Their burgers here was nothing special...pretty bland and the bun is usually soggy or toasted too hard. I usually go for their pasta dishes which are ok. The salads are good. You can't really mess up on salad.

Food service is excellent, the wraps and dinners are delicious . The best part about land and sea is they treat you like your apart of a family and also can't forget about the alcoholic beverages wich is made with a lot of love. I give the bartender 2 up. People I promise you that would be satisfied.

I've only ever ordered through Yelp, but this has become one of our favorite places. Like others have said, is it Anthony Bourdain? Of course not, but it's a solid diner, we've never gotten anything we didn't enjoy, they give you a ton of food for the money, and they have the friendliest delivery people.

    (4)
  • Gabriel F.

Not the worst place ever, but right up there. The only reason to come in here is for the pastries and cakes, and for the relative dark lighting. However, the place use to be much better, now, it's gone to hell in a hand basket. And what the hell is that little window on the outside for walk up burger orders? (SO GHETTO)

I have mixed feeelings about this place... The food is GREAT : Depending on what you order Ther service is Spectacular : depending on whos serving you the pricing is very fair: no really it is but theres a 5th element that seems to be missing, but its a great fall back place when youre just looking for something to eat and you arent quite sure...they can be a little all over the place but you gotta take the good with the bad

I'm hearing but not getting the bad reviews of this place...I have eaten at Land and Sea many, many times through the past eleven years that I've lived in Riverdale and have not had one bad meal. What did these folks eat? I know the wait staff, who recognize me when I come in. Service is fine, the food is good, served fast and it is not expensive. I have had broiled scallops, ribs and chicken wings, steak, stuffed flounder, lobster, salad, poor boy shrimp, sandwiches, pasta, and countless other dishes and they were all hot, tasty, and served up fast. Ummmm, maybe the other folks went real late at night or early in the morning after clubbing and were not feeling good. I have gone between 5 and 8 pm. I'd recommend this place during more normal hours and leave it to those folks that dine at 4 am to opine about those times...

Went in there for lunch with my boyfriend. Food was good, so were the drinks! My boyfriend got the fetuccini n I got the baby back ribs with mashed potatoes. I didn't like the ribs much but I ate all my potatoes. I shared my boyfriends pasta lol chocolate mousse cake was yummy service was quick, staff was friendly

I've only gone here after the local bar kitchens and the Riverdale diner are closed. The food is mediocre at best. There is a decent latin selection, but besides platanos or a cuban sandwich, I wouldn't get Spanish food from a diner. There is usually an obnoxiously loud crowd at the wee hours of the morning. The place is, all in all pretty ghetto. Why I won't be returning? Last time I went, I ordered grilled chicken and tomato on whole wheat toast. Asked for extra tomato. Besides the fact that my bread wasnt toasted, my extra tomato was 3 extra slices. Thats fine. When we got the check, we were charged for a chicken deluxe. When I told the waiter I didn't have fries, he said I charged you the deluxe for the extra tomato. I argued it, but he didn't budge. I don't make scenes, so we paid and left. So, my 3 extra slices of tomato cost us about $4. In addition to this, they added a 15% gratuity to our bill. We were a table of 2. Since when is that standard practice? For principle alone, we will never return.

We got pancakes, bacon, eggs, and french toast, and a fruit salad. I had the french toast it was fine and the fruit salad it was a great deal. I was told the pancakes were great.

The drink list should be shortened and the menu should be shortened. I may watch too many episodes of bad restaurant shows, but usually a telltale sign of a bad one is a super long menu. This place had a whole lot of....stuff! Also, my order was expected to be taken as soon as I sat down.....strike two! This place just needs a boost......or they should open from like 6 p.m.-9a.m.

    (2)
  • Adrian M.

it's called 'land and sea' because the food tastes like the land, i.e., dirt, and 'sea' as in, "see, i told you it sucked." and yes, you will be overcharged and yes, the waiters have been there twenty years too long.

  • Rob C.

This is more of a review for that little window outside everyone seems so freaked out by. I think it's hilarious! Ghetto? Yes it is! It's a fucking burger window under the subway tracks. It is literally a hole in the wall. It just happens to be a hole in the wall of Land & Sea and they serve burgers out of it well into the night. So after a night of drinking my friend gets a little hungry, so he asks me where to go. This was not my first choice. But we didn't want to be stuck in a diner for the next hour, and we were pretty sure that the bars had closed their kitchens by then. Everything I suggested on Riverdale and Johnson Avenues were shut down by then so we make our way down 231st towards Broadway. Along the way everything is either closed, closing, or shot down by both of us (sorry Popeye's). As we approach the subway I shout out "I know, lets go to the window!". My friend who doesn't know this part of the Bronx looks at me like I'm a crazy person, however if he did know what I was talking about I would have gotten the same look. This place is creeptastic. I pass by it everyday going to the gym, but could never justify going before. It does not look good, and frankly it's a little ridiculous, but that's the point. It's a crazy thing to do. If you hangout with me you always end up with a story, or even better as part of one. Standing in the middle of the street, sticking your head into a hole in the wall, and feeling like a future stab victim as you wait for your burger qualifies as a story. People never forget the things I put them through. There we are, two well dressed respectable looking young guys standing at the "ghetto window" in the middle of the night when a line starts to form behind us. The neighborhood drunks and creepos start walking up to us and very excitedly asking "Are they still serving burgers, man?" It's like we were a beacon to the creatures of the night to get some grub because at the time that we arrived the place was deserted. You can get a burger and a side for like 5 bucks. My turkey burger was just that... a turkey burger. The burger and the bun that's it, no cheese, no lettuce, not even ketchup. It was okay for something to soak up my drinking habits, and provide me with the illusion of sobriety. My friend declared that his onion rings were the best he ever had, I think that poor boy tried too hard to keep up with me at the bar.

Don't risk delivery from here. The food is expensive, and would be worth it if it was good every time, but after ordering a bunch of times here, it's just way too hit or miss. Things will be forgotten, portion sizes will change drastically or carelessly at the same price order to order, and you will be disappointed often. When it's good, it's quick and tasty and worth the money, when it's bad you will wish you had ordered an extra entree cause you had to throw a soggy or old or generally not of solid quality one in the garbage, or still hungry cause you're burger with fries came with 8(!) french fries. If you actually go there I guess you could send things back, but after I wait 40 minutes for a delivery (totally reasonable) I don't want to have to call back and explain why my order is messed up and wait another 40 minutes to have some dinner. I gave this place more than a few times to prove itself and I really wouldn't recommend it unless you like feeling frustrated.

Years ago, there once was a little old style diner called 'Arthur's'. My mother used to meet me there after I served 7am morning mass. Yeah, I was an altar boy. In 1983 they decided to sell it and Arthur's was stripped bare. What emerged was Land & Sea Restaurant. All was great in the beginning. Stuffed shrimp with real crab meat (not the red and white crap), Lamb chops were on point and burgers and breakfast were typical diner fair. That was 1983. This is 2011. Land & Sea has not changed a bit (in terms of decor) and infact has descended into a hot ghetto nightmare. Located 2 blocks from a housing project that has seen better days and now loaded with local and a Washington Heights crowd thanks to the unwanted and burgeoning club scene in the once working class factory area of Kingsbridge Heights. The area and the diner have seen better days. The food has since declined drastically since the initial launch and the booths, dividers and carpet are older than most of the clientele. Gone are the days of Saturday afternoon seniors chowing down on soup. Instead, after 1am this place can dim the lights and kick up some tunes to become a disco nightmare that serves what passes for food. I would pretty much avoid anything served here outside of pasta or the broiled Lamb Chops. If you have no choice (and with a car, I cannot see that being the case) stop by for an artery packing experience...and not necessarily a good or even mediocre one. If you go during the post 1am cornball wannabe drug dealer crowd, either have a gun license or a vest. Remember....Lamb chops or pasta. Maybe pancakes and Turkey sausage. Best thing about that dump is Delfino the host. Poor guy. Even only eats salad or rice there. He knows better. Good luck! PS; check out the Scarface table in the back, past the dirty fish tank. I know these fake drug-dealing morons trying to impress 2 or 3 birds with 'fine dining' swear they are Tony Montana. You can see it in their face. Lmao. Laughable. UPDATE: had a little too much to drink at An Beal Boch (a really cool bar in Riverdale with live music) I wound up getting lured into Land & Sea to catch up with a friend of mine on their birthday (Please do not ask me why anyone would do that) and I need to fast as punishment. Loud, ignorant customers, thugs, hookers, clowns and really sad. When I say "never" this time...I mean it.

I love this place. No, seriously, I love this place. The booths up the stairs are my favorite place to sit. The service is great and I love how private it is. I always feel like it's just my girlfriend and I eating. They've got a great menu. My favorite is the breakfast sampler (don't judge me) and we always get the bread with dip (nom nom nom). It's affordable as well. I guess I would describe as a diner. I'll be back!

This place is a crap hole. Only go here if you need to pee and then you can go directly into the algae-ridden fountain up front. Was served rancid pancakes on one visit, a revolting burger the next. Beware.

Absolutely DISGUSTING. The coffee was unspeakable(okay, we'll all be old and bitter someday no doubt)..the breakfast was awash in grease with rubberized eggs and a hockey puck that turned out to be a bagel. Someone actually recommended the sea food but after looking at the standard of hygiene(FILTHY) I passed on that option and made my escape. Avoid this over-priced disgrace of a diner.

I honestly don't know why this place has such bad reviews. I came here with my sister and one year old son, and was greeted by a handsome older man who looked like he was the owner. He brought me a high chair, sat us down, and almost immediately received complimentary bread with an amazing dip and ice water. I ordered the BBQ ribs and wings with mashed potatoes, corn on the cob, and a salad. It was all VERY good, except for the corn, which was almost tasteless. (I didn't mind, though.) The waiter was courteous and kind-- our waters were refilled without a having to ask. When we were done, I was on the fence about whether or not I should get dessert and the when our waiter noticed this, he came back with a FREE slice of Tiramisu! He told me that if I liked it, I should buy it next time. The bill was surprisingly low as well. All in all, I really enjoyed my meal and will definitely be coming back!

Went here last week. I had the Classic Cheeseburger Deluxe. I ordered it medium rear and it came out exactly that. Crispy outside and rear inside. For desert I got the carot cake and it was delicious! The stuff was very friendly and overall the experience was what you would expect from a good diner.

I was hanging out with friends once. And we were having a gay ol' time. We were drinking and dancing and drinking and laughing and drinking and drinking... we were thirsty. In our quest to satiate our bottomless thirst we made new friends. The new friends lived in my neighborhood. Now my group of friends has doubled in size! Alcohol + living in the Bronx + Dominican = Friends fo' Life! (well, at least until the meal is over) So we hop into cabs and head to Land & Sea. I had breakfast I think... but then again I was eating off of everyone's plate, (even though I may not share does not mean that I don't appreciate people who do.) The food is mediocre at best. I would much rather go to Dale's diner up the block on 231st. They make a good burger. But then again this place has been around for ever. So sometimes you just find yourself here out of habit.

This place is DISGUSTING! You should never walk in this place. I rarely eat at diners nor do I frequent fast food joints but I would much rather eat McDonalds or any other fast food chain restaurant than to eat at this place. I was out w/friends till the wee hours of the night or should I say....early morning. Anyhow, we walked in there and ordered out. After a long night out on the town sometimes unfortunately you want to go to a diner and eat artery clogging food. I ordered 2eggs, w/ Bacon and french fries (Ugh..I can't believe I was about to eat that). I arrived at home, anxious to get to my greasy fries and to my surprise I opened up my aluminum container to find about 7 french fries (I am NOT exagerrating!!) undercooked eggs and two disgusting looking bacon strips. I threw it out. I was charged $11.00 for that meal. I suggest you never walk into that place....EVER! So gross.

If you're looking for quality around Kingsbridge in the Bronx then this is the place to go. I had the cream of turkey soup and loved it. You might think that this place is pricey at first but you get what you pay for. The service has always been good when I've gone to Land and Sea and i recommend going there to experience their new happy hour specials! If there's one dessert i recommend it's the Cheesecake!

Deserts are awesome. Food, is fucking hard. That little window outside is kind of scary. Its like asking to get jumped when all you wanna do is get a decent mini-burger. The food is either overcooked or too oily. Again, their deserts are great if your out late and just want to have a cheesecake with some stale ass coffee.
