Horrible, horrible horrible. Came here on 8/19 with a Groupon deal. The food tasted like it came out the microwave. The so-called mexican corn was boiled and slaughtered with mayo and alittle spice. It was early in the afternoon and the bar was out of Patron, so I had to settle for some other type of margarita. Never again will I have a check-in here!. STAY CLEAR!!!!!!!

They were out of vermouth so they couldn't make a basic gin martini. They were also out of the only IPA on draft, so I figured I wouldn't make a big deal out of it and I ordered a Modelo instead. And then the food came. I ordered my lamb rare, and it arrived well done and so salty I could barely eat it. The staff were nice, but damn - the food here really sucks. Won't be back.

Friendly staff, terrible food! I got the Puerco sandwich. It was totally smothered in cheese to cover up the dry and COLD pork. This place totally bummed me out...

I would like to give this place more stars because the food we had was REALLY GOOD and also the sangria, however, the service is absolutely horrendous. We were there late, there was only one other table in the restaurant. We asked for water with our sangria and margarita- never got any. Had to ask for more salsa because- I kid you not- there was about a tablespoon of salsa! Our food came- delicious as I said. Had to ask for silverware (side note: I also saw her drop clean silverware and put it back in the bin with "clean" ones). We were checked on towards the end and were asked if we needed anything else to which we replied "no thank you, we're all finished." We sat there for another 15-20 minutes while they stood chatting at the bar so I had to do what I HATE DOING... And waved my hand to get someone to give us our check. C'mon people- no excuse for such shitty service. Sad because again, food is great. I would have rather tipped the cook.

The food is freshly made and so are the drinks! The service was also great! My mom and my aunts had Tilapia and I had some Mexican food. Everyone enjoyed and loved the food. The waitress was extremely attentive and bilingual which was impressive. Its a nice place to have group lunches or dinners. Its not noisy and even if you sit outside the neighborhood isnt loud or crowded. Overall we left with nothing but good things to say.

We walk up to the door, there's a strange man staring intently out at us. He open's the door, so its whatever. They try to sell us drinks, guacamole and all this excess shit which I, a student, don't want. Let me order my god damn vegetarian burrito. Which they thought meant chicken. So, I had to send that back. There was so much commotion and people checking in on us to clear a plate as soon as the last morsel left it that I spilled our non-refillable first salsa bowl in my crotch. It took us two hours to deal with this extravaganza. Save yourself time and money and don't go.

I arranged a brunch for my 30th High School reunion, Brooklyn Tech, Class of 1984. I have been here several times and have never been disappointed, especially this Saturday, April 5th. Approximately 55 of my classmates attended. Marcos and his staff were very accommodating. Very polite and helpful. The food was delicious and fresh. The drinks were very good as well. I will be returning on a regular basis. Hats off to Marcos and his staff. You took care of us and we were delighted.

I am not a harsh critic, but this place is bad. Don't be fooled by the cool and colorful mural art on the exterior of the building. I went here last night with my friend (8/7/12) and I will not go back again. Here is the review in short order: - Terrible waitress - OVER PRICED - Bad food.. (I had the chicken burrito which was sub par, dry, and the sause tasted like the bought it at a dollar store) - To top it off, as we are sitting down, we see a Cock-a-roach crawling all over a gentleman's back who was sitting at the bar. I got up to swat it off! How gross is that?!?! HAHA

    (1)
  • Mark J.

Went here to kick it with my girl who lives in BK. This place was alright---at best. Honestly, the service was really annoying and incompetent, but the food was ok--again, at best. The Nachos were not really great, and that is something that is so easy to make awesome. Ugh. Also the drinks were really overpriced for the area and not properly made, really. The only thing it had going for it was they didn't screw up my burrito, and the place wasn't crowded (most likely because others had a similar experience I had).

In an attempt to keep things healthy, I ordered the ceviche. Shrimp, pico de gallo marinated in lime and other citrus juices - so refreshing and one of my favorite Latin American Dishes. That was delicious. The other part of the meal was not so memorable. The refried beans are flavorless and so was the rice. Anything that was supposed to be crispy was delivered soggy. There wasn't anythihg exciting about the meal at all. I'm really getting tired of spending a lot of money for mediocre food. Sigh.

  • Tori W.

I don't understand how some of these reviews below can say their food wasn't amazing. The burrito my roommate ordered was one of the best I've had since moving here. I'm from CA so I know my burritos. Their guacamole was pure heaven, which is made fresh at a table in the middle of the restaurant. The decor alone was adorable, quaint, and very cozy. And don't even get me started on the drinks. 5 dollar margaritas even on weekends?!! And when I say they pour heavy, I mean they pour DUMB heavy. I was hammered after 3, and I drink a lot. Service was so so, but definitely nothing to stop you from going in. Overall bomb.com spot for good mexican food and drinks.

Worst place ever, food is disgusting nothing is fresh the food taste like they prepare it days ago and store in the fridge.. The nachos were super disgusting very dry and no effort on making, it looks like they just threw a bunch of sour cream all over ,The staff are rude and nasty, they charged me for a drink that was horrible, 5$ margarita taste like straight up water then to top it off they fill the cup w ice, this place sucks gets a - star, DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE !!!!!! Worst shiitehole ever, and the cook isn't even Mexican smh

I ordered delivery from this restaurant last week via Seamless Web. I ordered the chicken taco and a steak burrito. The chicken taco was edible and had easily discernible flavors. The chicken itself tasted like it was cooked in a rotisserie, I was expecting it to be braised. Well, that is what I would have liked. The taco was topped with a spicy salsa verde and a pico de gallo. I was pretty hungry when I ate it, and I thought it was decent for the price. What came next I was not prepared for; a burrito that tasted of everything besides steak. The strongest flavor I picked up was shrimp. Everything else disgustingly bland. The kind of bland that scares and confuses me. When I cut into a burrito, I expect to see layers of food I can recognize. When I cut into that thing they delivered to my door, I saw some kind of bland shrimp flavored fried rice with pieces of tough steak tossed in it. Avoid at all costs.

First major plus is that this place is in a good neighborhood yet not at all crowded today, Sunday, at 1 pm. Second major plus: $11 brunch includes unlimited Bloody Marys, mimosas, or coffees. Third major plus: a flavorful, filling vegetarian dish that is not a burrito or huevos rancheros. Huevos matalenos is fried eggs (not that flavorful actually, with the yolk cooked too solid) over corn tortillas with sautéed vegetables, sour cream, cheese, and sweet, sweet plaintains. It was served with pretty bland yellow rice and beans but they still provide the protein so no complaints. The Mexican hot chocolate was not spicy, which was a disappointment, but the Bloody Mary was quite piquant and flavorful. Really filling and delicious brunch.

Been here a few times for lunch. Cheap, good, and available in no time at all. Good spicy avocado aka green sauce! Makes the food come to life. Chicken is always well-seasoned though.

Ordered delivery via Seamless last night. Food was vile: soggy, pasty tostones, chips oozing oil, chunks of pale grey beef (allegedly 'grilled') in my burrito. Also of note was the strange fact that all condiments and sauces are served in tiny half-ounce cups. So the salsa we ordered to accompany our chips was delivered in some 10 tiny cups. This joint has taken a strange journey- it was once a respectable addition to the PS Los Pollitos family, then an unremarkable Italian restaurant by a different name. In no time it became an Italian/Mexican hybrid. Shortly thereafter it reverted to the LP name but the food lacks the quality and appeal of that found at the Park Slope Pollitos. What gives? In brief- I'd cross the street to avoid this place.

Went here with two co-workers on cinco de mayo 2011. The $5 drinks specials were kind of small but super strong! The frozen strawberry margarita was not the best I've tasted. I ordered the steak fajitas. I gotta say, besides the meat being a little fatty, it was an amazing meal. The food had a lot of flavor and I really enjoyed it. Their nachos and cheese appetizer could definitely use some work, it really was not visually appealing to eat (although it did taste good). My friend got a burger which she said tasted good, besides the bun, which was hard as a brick (I know, I know, who orders a burger at a spanish restaurant on cinco de mayo) Overall a good first experience, will definitely go back! Minus one star for the food quality not being amazing (fatty meat, hard bread, not visually appealing nachos)

A friend and I came to Los Pollitos for Saturday Brunch... Sadly, it wasn't the best experience. Another friend suggested that we eat here. Since it was recommended, I was looking forward to the experience. Los Pollitos is a decent looking restaurant with some Mexican décor. Our waitress was nice and gave us mimosas which were included in the brunch. I wanted pancakes. However, I was told that pancakes are served in the mornings and not at the time that I arrived... How do you have brunch with no pancakes, waffles, or French toast? My friend and I both ordered the open face omelet with home fries. The food arrived promptly and the omelet looked appetizing. But, the omelet was so bland. I couldn't taste the egg, cheese, or veggies. It basically tasted like water. The home fries were no bueno either... The home fries had no flavor and were very dry. I hate wasting calories on food that's not tasty... We also ordered a side of fried plantains. Thank goodness we did. That was the best thing we had. Who knows... maybe Los Pollitos has better food for lunch and dinner. But, I won't be returning there for breakfast or brunch.

Went here to catch up with some friends, and for that purpose, it was pretty perfect. Brunch was eleven bucks, including unlimited drinks. I don't really have any major complaints because I had a really good time there. Their decor is nice (sat by the window with a view of a colorful mural) and it wasn't too packed on a Saturday at around 2:00. Negatives: The drinks were fairly weak and I barely even got buzzed. The breakfast burrito was big and tasty, but I didn't find the eggs until the second half of the meal because they were smushed over onto one end of the burrito. But that seems to just be the nature of burritos, so it's not a huge issue. The waiter was fine, until it came time to pay. Then he sort of got lost and we had to track him down. And he gave me the wrong change, but after telling him, he returned with the correct amount without any problems.

To start, I've dined at all the Los Pollitos locations; each location is equal in terms of quality, service, and atmosphere. Looking for "real" mexican? This isn't the place. Looking for a good time with cheap drinks? Los Pollitos is it! I've never had a bad time time here and the food isn't bland or greasy by any means. My girlfriend loves the mexican corn and margaritas, while I like pretty much everything. The mexican/italian options on the menu are a little odd, but I wasn't put off by any of the dishes I had when I ordered them. I feel like some of the other reviewers are too wrapped up in food snobbery to see Los Pollitos for what it really is; a good cheap place to eat when you're tired of takeout but still don't have a ton of cash.

This is an update to an old review.... If I could give it no stars, I would. I don't know why I keep trying the darn place. IT SUCKS. Food was disgusting, tasted old... adn it's some kind of weird Mexican/Italian fusion although they don't say that. I had the enchiladas.... they had marinara sauce on them. GROSS. Horrible. Bad. Just don't give them your money....

Nice ambiance, but the food can be quite lousy. I ordered the Fried Porkchops special, and it was dry as a bone, as well as apparently unseasoned. The rice and greens were good, but a seriously disappointing dinner overall.

    (2)
  • Namik G.

I wish I've read the yelp reviews before I came here. The Mexican food was just straight garbage. Tacos were by far the worst I've ever had in my life, the beef was dry chunks of tasteless substance. The rice was a bit undercooked. What was really surprising is how good their burgers are: very juicy and maybe just a bit greasy. Service was pretty bad: our server would disappear for long periods of time. Not coming back.

The food at Los Pollitos III tastes suspiciously un-Mexican. I'm not sure the where the problem is rooted. Maybe a non-Mexican cook (which seems hard to believe in NYC)? Everything is loaded with this greasy yellow gunk. I eat plenty of Mexican food, with various regional influences --mostly at home due to experiences such as this. If you want authentic Mexican street food, go to a Mexican bodega or Antojitos on Graham in Bushwick. Try Pollitos' all-day, every day $5 Margarita, which is better than average, but don't go any further than that.

  • Eilidh U.

The strawberry and banana pancakes at Los Pollitos are delicious. The cocktails are cheap and the other food is decent (not great though), the staff are friendly, though I only ever really went here by accident. 3 stars only because I massively regret the one time I got eggs benedict.

  • Thomas H.

Overall, I liked this place. The food was tasty, the atmosphere is nice and the staff was friendly. This wasn't my original destination but when Castro's proved to be not quite the sit down experience I was looking for with my brother, it turned out to be a great second choice. We both had fajitas and were surprised to find they're served in a red sauce rather than dry and sizzling as we are used to from other restaurants. There was plenty for two solid sized wraps without a lot left over. The rice and beans were tasty and the guac was fresh. Not a huge fan of the magarita (on ice with salt)

I've been here a few times for various reasons (dragged there by cheap friends for the margeritas, was too hungover to wait for a table at Maggie Brown) and every time the food was between passable and inedible. The last time was the WORST dining experience I've has in recent memory. I'm usually pretty forgiving when I'm really hungry, but I even had to apologize to my date it was so bad. Word to the wise: Do not try the Italian fare!!!! The pasta is overcooked, the sauce pretty bad and the meatballs, Mary mother of god, were what you'd imagine diseased rat meat to taste like. Their bloody Marys are among the worst I've ever had too. Service was slow despite it never being very crowded. The last time I ate there I told the waitress the food was really terrible to no response. My date and I left without tipping, a first for me! I would avoid completely unless you just want some cheap margeritas at happy hour.

on my way to castro's i decided to give this place a shot. and it's not as bad as the other reviews made it out to be. i had the huevos rancheros with beans and rice. the green sauce was great, and the re-fried black beans were real tasty. great oj and great coffee too. their bloody marys need a little work, but overall i enjoyed it. i'll prolly come back. the only annoying thing was this older gentleman that walked in and said, "i'm an esposito" without even saying hello to the waitress. just to make sure everyone knew he was related to the owners. and, the waitstaff was as nice to him as they were to me.

OMG love the brunch for starters and especially on Sundays I have the luxury of the 3 huge flat screens by the bar! Happy hour is glorious with its 2 for 1 specials everyday, and great bar staff. service was attentive at times, OK decor and nice service staff. The salmon Alla vodka awesome and its def a go!! overall Los Pollitos is the place to be.......

Hmm, I'm looking at the below recommendations and I find them somewhat inexplicably harsh. I often have the Chicken Enchilada with Green Sauce and I really enjoy it. I've had the other simple tacos and burritos as well and they are all solid. But the green sauce is actually worth coming back for. Now the dish sizes are modest compared perhaps to some super size me Mexican restaurants out there, but I feel like I'm getting pretty good quality. I'm normally a beer drinker, but that just isn't a strength of this establishment. (Side note: why do many ethnic restaurants insist on serving only their local beer when their particular culture has no history of quality brews and they are obviously serving a neighborhood that enjoys more flavorful craft brews?) I suggest you stick with the margaritas. The place is nice, service has always been pleasant, brunch is very affordable, and dinner entrees are nicely presented and tasty (especially if you have the green sauce). The ambiance is good enough for a date, albeit not a Friday night "I'm going to wow you" date; more like a "We've been going out for three months, it's a Tuesday, but I'm not taking you for granted" date.

First timer yesterday on a quiet Labor Day. Service was slow and unfriendly, but overall food was good- nothing great, but good enough to return in the future.. Nachos were very small portions but avocado salsa was excellent. Their menu is an odd combination of Mexican and Italian offerings. Not many options on this side of Myrtle Street, worth a revisit when in the area.

I don't know what it's all about. Can't really tell if it's just a joke or a front for something else - something that's not even sinister or anything, just that it all *just* happened, as opposed to someone working really hard to make it happen. Los Pollitos? Okay. A little local Mexican joint. No pretensions, I suppose, you know, with an Itch-a-Sketch logo of two pollitos. Los Pollitos II? Fine. The business is doing well, it makes sense to branch out, I suppose. Los Pollitos III? Really? Are you serious? Oh, it must be one of those trilogy-obsession, right? Or, are you just too lazy to come up with a new name? I'm still for Castro's yelp.com/biz/VZb3YQdqfcK… just down the block. The chicken in Chimichanga at Los Pollitos III tasted old. If the meat doesn't taste fresh, there's something wrong with the venue. Simple as that. My friend enjoyed her Margaritas and Tamales, so that's a plus. Beans & Rice was okay at best. If you want a little surreal comedy for your evening, I suggest you try out Los Pollitos III. Not sure if it's a regular performance, but a couple a few tables from us were sitting on the same side of a 2-person table, singing along to some John Cougar Meloncamp songs, and yelling at the waiter in between snuggling and babytalking.

Great food, great mimosas, good service, but terribly unhappy looking server/ bartender (same guy) during Sunday brunches..

  • Jeff L.

This place needs help. First of all, the Italian/Mexican menu doesn't foster a real trust in their commitment to good food. The margaritas, a staple of any sit-down Mexican joint, are sad. The sour mix that they use is really really not good. The lay-out of the restaurant isn't very inviting either. The service is nice but often overwhelmed. Castro's, down the street, may have an even less inviting dining room, but this place can't compete with the food.

Seriously New York? you should probably stop trying to make Mexican food. In general, just stop. I have yet to experience anything that would be okay to call Mexican food.

I ordered a Burrito and it had a piece of an English Muffin in it, which strongly suggests they dump other peoples garbage into your Burrito. I will never eat here again.

I have ordered delivery (phoning directly) from this restaurant about 5 times now, and the food always takes about 1 hr to arrive, and it doesn't matter when I call. I've even tried calling in the middle of the day, past lunch, and the food always takes that long. It always comes cold. Tonight, the food arrived late as usual, cold as usual, and the order was wrong. Instead of the half chicken I ordered (which the person who took the order repeated back to me), I got Flautas. Not sure how this happened.

I like this place for delivery or take-out. It was Los Pollitos III and then La Stalla, and now it's back to Los Pollitos III. The salsa and the tostadas are my favorite. The beans are not that great. I have been meaning to eat in here as the happy hour specials are good and the place seems inviting.

I have seen Los Pollitos before somewhere in park slope but I dont believe I have ever tried it. So the first time I tried Los Pollitos is obviously at the III one and I was a tad disappointed. I love the way in which the chicken was cooked and shredded but I didn't like the taste of it. The restaurant is beautiful and the chairs are really nice. They have a lot of specials and the waitress was nice. I liked how even though they closed at 11 they still let in a party of 4 close to 10:50 to eat and drink. I like when a restaurant is able to be friendly and I think this one meshes well in a neighborhood that is up and coming with a bunch of new restaurants.

This review is based on the food that we get delivered, not on the venue. We were hungry on a Sunday morning. Too lazy to cook, so we decided to order in. I was in Clinton Hill and was craving some Mexican Food. My friend suggested we try this place and ordered it from Seamless Web. The menu selection was large. Not only did they have Mexican food, but they had pasta as well. We ordered the Chorizo Burrito, Chicken Mole, an iced coffee and a lemonade. The delivery was quick. It was about 20-30min. I was thinking what would arrive.... Is it edible, even "mexican like".... I was pleased when I got my burrito. It was big, thick and full of ingredients. I loved the side of pickled red onions and lettuce. Excellent touch Los Pollitos III! The chorizo had a hint of cinnamon, which made the meat really flavorful. This was a good choice. The Mole was good, not the best but was decent for take out. The chicken was a bit dry, but the sauce was flavorful, on top of the rice it make it taste really good. The drinks were good. My lemonade was a slush, which it didn't say on Seamless Web, but I was VERY pleased. Who doesn't like slush? I'm not a coffee drinker, but my friend is. He say's it wasn't the best, but it will do since we didn't have milk to make his coffee. All in all it was a good experience. I want to go to this place and sit down and eat.

Pretty sad Mexican restaurant. The food was bland and a bit gummy -- just not very fresh. The space was pretty empty and still had Christmas decorations up. Our waitress was perfectly nice, but there was something eerie about this restaurant.

As part of the BrooklynTech Reunion class of 1984,I wanted to say that we recieved top knotch service and food from the staff at Los Pollitos lll. The prefix brunch was just what we needed. There were so many of us there that there was no room for anyone else and even though we keep rolling in the staff was accommodating and helpful. I would surely return.

When it comes to brunch and I want flavor this is where I go. It's a favorite of mine and my family. Food is fresh, flavorful, and the mimosas go well with my huevos ranchero (green sauce). Service is friendly and attentive and I like not being rushed. It's good for parties of 4 to 6 with their large booths. I def recommend the maduros, so yummy! Can't wait to have the fried ice cream for dessert on my next visit. I will be back :-)!

Talk about some bullshit. This was horrible. I ordered the enchiladas with bean and rice. It came with like maybe two table spoons of black beans. The chicken was tough and dry-clearly old. Not worth the money at all. Won't eat here again, won't recommend.

The strawberry and banana pancakes at Los Pollitos are delicious. The cocktails are cheap and the other food is decent (not great though), the staff are friendly, though I only ever really went here by accident. 3 stars only because I massively regret the one time I got eggs benedict.

Not sure if it's a regular performance, but a couple a few tables from us were sitting on the same side of a 2-person table, singing along to some John Cougar Meloncamp songs, and yelling at the waiter in between snuggling and babytalking.

on my way to castro's i decided to give this place a shot. and it's not as bad as the other reviews made it out to be. i had the huevos rancheros with beans and rice. the green sauce was great, and the re-fried black beans were real tasty. great oj and great coffee too. their bloody marys need a little work, but overall i enjoyed it. i'll prolly come back. the only annoying thing was this older gentleman that walked in and said, "i'm an esposito" without even saying hello to the waitress. just to make sure everyone knew he was related to the owners. and, the waitstaff was as nice to him as they were to me.

HAHA

Absolutely the worst delivery experience ever. This is the second time they've been over an hour late with a delivery and refused to own up to it, and the second time I've had to complain to seamless about them. THIS time: After about 40 minutes, I called wondering where my food was, I was told that they'd never received an order from seamless (despite my confirmation e-mail). They took my order and assured me they would rush it. 30 mins later, I called again, to be told that the delivery person had been gone "for a while now" and I should go downstairs and wait, since he didn't have a phone. What? By this time I was on the phone with seamless, and they called AGAIN to say that the delivery person couldn't find my apartment - which is less than a mile from the restaurant and next to a major landmark (which I described to him the first time). By this time, it's nearly 2 hours after I'd placed the original order. I told them I wanted my meal for free, and was told the best they could do was $5 off, and "we'll take care of you next time". UNREAL. Poor customer service all around, I will discourage everyone in the neighborhood from ordering from there EVER.

My sister and I stopped in after church... it was pretty empty which was cool because we didnt feel like waiting... once we were seated we were provided with the brunch menus which offered nothing we were interested in but luckily for us the dinner menu was available (most restaurants aren't so flexible)... I had the chicken fajita which was pretty good.. nice size portion as I was able to share and still left full.. my sister had this shrimp and rice dish.. the rice was super tasty but the shrimp not so much... I had the mai tai which was yuck.. shouldve gotten a margarita. .. the highlight was the free shot we were given at the end of our meal... overall it was a good experience... if you live in the area check it out but no need in going out your way. .

We have been going to Los Pollitos for years and the service has consistently sucked but because the food is actually pretty good, we have patronized anyway. Until now. We called in an order to pick up: shrimp quesadilla, spinach taco, an order of veg soup and and order of chips and salsa. I pick up the order, pay for everything and go home. I open the bag, there are no chips and salsa. We call, ask them to just refund the charge for the chips and salsa because we didn't get it. The staffer tells us that they reviewed the video cameras and everything was placed in the bag correctly so they won't refund us. WHAT? for real? we just didn't get our chips and salsa. they accused us of LYING about it, saying that we just wanted free chips and salsa. ridiculous. these people are straight up rude and have shitty service. sorry los pollitos. im done.

The food is decently priced, not overwhelming in the taste category, and the service is pretty good. I had a shrimp ceviche as an appetizer that could have been my main meal. Very tasty and presented nicely. I will go back for this again. I ordered a burrito for my actual entree and kinda wish that I just had more ceviche. The burrito wasn't terrible, but it didn't make any fireworks go off either. Pretty standard. What I like about this place, is that it's casual, convenient based on where you live and offers non- Mexican options. For example, my brother was able to get a cheeseburger. I've passed by this restaurant in the summer and noticed that they offer outdoor seating- bonus! I also believe this restaurant has a brunch special on the weekends as well which sounds interesting.

I've eaten at this place twice and both times I was disappointed with the food. The first time I ate here was a over two years ago and I didn't have a Yelp account set up then. This last time I went back, my Lady and I went here to meet a friend for brunch and I ordered cheese enchiladas with red sauce and the red sauce was so very bland. It tasted like the red sauce was straight out of can, very much like Hunts tomato sauce with absolutely zero added to it. The rice and beans didn't have any added spice or any ingredients to help, again, they both were just cooked and added to the plate. Basic black beans and basic cooked rice. The whole meal felt as though the bare ingredients were used and there was very little love put into the meal and very little taste. The waiter we had was nice and helpful, both times I visited this place the staff was nice and friendly. The decor in the restaurant is nice, a little on the dark side when it comes to lighting especially when you move further from the front of the restaurant. Again though, staff and the decor are not the problem, for me the food is extremely bland. Maybe I caught the chef on a bad day but to have two very mediocre experiences here, is good enough for me to not come back to this establishment.

  • Leslie S.

This place had bad food. We had the cheese enchilada with red sauce delivered and it was the worst plate of food I have had in a long time. Just so you know, at los pollitos red sauce means marinara sauce. I confirmed with Troy, the manager, and he admitted that the enchilada red is the same as the marinara on the chicken parm. We also ordered the chicken soup. Who would have thought that a place called Los Pollitos would skimp out on chicken in a chicken soup. AVOID! AVOID! AVOID! I can't stress it enough... AVOID!

Wtf is all I can say...this was definite,go to spot but the, turnover, in, staff and menu changes have me, confused!! What'd, happened to service?? Why should I Chase down a server in a empty, place?? Everyone, on cell phones smh to, many spots in,bk for that sorry

    (1)

Sigh.

5$ margarita and sangria. You got me already!! Their drinks are really good and strong. I also got fried calamari with the shrimp in garlic sauce. It was delightful. Cool place with good food and drinks knowing they have competition like wrays, soco, and sapolos. I'd come again. Just wish they didn't close so early.

Be careful with your credit cards and being randomly overcharged. Never thought I'd have money blatantly stolen from me. I guess they knew they had terrible service and had to steal a tip from us. Food was decent. Had to to go ask for our chips and salsa we ordered after 15 mins of waiting. the bread on my friends sandwich came stale- so it wasn't exactly a sandwich that he ended up eating. But despite that we were okay. When it came time for the bill we decided to split it three ways, with cash and two cards. and then add on tip at the end. First they added on an extra drink no had gotten. The second time around - For some reason both cards got charged $3 extra. And they felt it wasn't a big deal if they had added it on randomly. which they- not us- decided would be our tip. More than 20% tip. Ridiculous. Bad service, okay food and then charging us extra and making it look like it was no big deal. If you can't calculate math then don't work a register. and def don't make it look like it's no big deal. A few dollars here or there makes no difference to me. But come on.

The food was not good. The margaritas were terrible. But mostly the service was the worst. Not only was it horribly slow, but they messed up our order and never said anything. Additionally they gave us a bill and as we were paying informed us they had forgotten something and our bill doubled in price. Lastly, the super nachos are the size of about 2 chips, some beans, and a handful of dried chicken. I would not recommend this place.

They deserve 0 stars. I have order from here 3 times and each time they get the order wrong. The last time they got it wrong and didn't want to credit me for the wrong items. on top of their extremely bad service and lack of attention to detail the food is mediocre at best. Don't waste your time or money. Three strikes and you are out

Just received my order of chicken nachos and guacamole and chips. This is probably the most bland Mexican food I've ever tasted...I had to doctor the nachos so much for them to even taste like something. I could have just made my own because I used all of my own ingredients to fix them. And side note if you don't like sour cream you should say so. I hate sour cream and it was everywhere on these taste less 'nachos'. The guacamole and chips were not with $10 and also needed salt and spice.

The waiters and waitresses here were sweet and the ambiance was very smooth but the food was not as good. I ordered Salmon which lacked much seasoning, as well as a "Jamaica" juice to wash it down which also didn't taste good. To be honest, I would not expect a spectacular Jamaican style sorrel from a Mexican joint but it did not hurt to try. It actually tasted like powdered drink. I did enjoy the nachos and guacamole though. I would return but only at last resort.

Ordered a dish that I saw in a Yelp pic. It wasn't on the menu at Los Pollitos III but the chef was kind enough to prepare it for me. God bless him. Large, deep dish of yellow rice topped with jumbo shrimps and sautéed spinach was yummy, saucy with tomatoes, red peppers and onions and very good. Could've done without the standard side of black beans. This place looks like an abuela's kitchen and that's not a bad thing. The Spanish music in the air here is full of bass and is played loud enough to make you wanna bounce and jiggle at your table. I've yet to visit sunny California but Los Pollitos III's atmosphere makes me wanna go. Full bar and TV's. Cute date night spot (if you have a cute date which I no longer do.) Sigh...

Great place! Guacamole was really good and fresh, they make it right there in the spot. If ever around you must try!
