High Blood Pressure at Applebee's

Most of the foods served at Applebee's restaurants are high in sodium. Unless you are visiting the restaurant or dining here in the group, there are hardly any options from the main meals if you wish to keep your blood pressure in check. Okay, so, I'm practically always here. I can't say much besides the food is regular McDerp's food, the frappes are sugar bombs, and the bathroom is nastier than a cat box. Just don't go immediately after school hours or late on Saturday nights. Too many teens with nothing to do.

Cold food. Restaurant dirty. Soda machine no ice. Some soda dispensers not working? No napkins available and ketchup? No cups. I can imagine the bathrooms. This place has gone down drastically!

I got out pretty late one night from work n I came in starving. I only saw one person manning the register n this female was going this way and that way with nothing to do. She finally acknowledged me after I stared her down like HELLOOO take my order since I'm the only one in this establishment. The rest would be up to the ppl in the back. She told she would be another minute as I watched her do nothing some more I got fed up and angrily left hungry. My feelings were hurt that I was being treated like that. I got on the bus and went home hungry. Ridiculous. I have since returned in the past n everytime I see that female she has recognized me n I would go to another register. I should've reported her to management.

Went there waited in line for ten minutes. Then some teen who was standing on the side gets in front of me to order and of course the cashier stared taking his order. Seeing that I was pissed she then asked him if he was in line. He was visibly checking the menu on the side in front of everyone the entire time. I walked right out. I am not going to wait in line and then get cut by someone I don't care where it is, especially if your hungry... nope.

Overall a good McDonalds, and it has really improved over time. I don't know if they got a new manager or what but I used to view this McDonalds as terrible and nowhere near as good as the one on Conner Street, but they have gotten a lot better and I love that they have drive-thru service late at night. The lines seem to have gotten better, and the service is faster and my order has not gotten as messed nearly as much. It can get a bit noisy during school time, but they have a security guard. I know some might view it as sad a fast food place would need a security guard, but it's a sign of the times and it makes me feel a lot safer that I don't need to fear getting jumped by a bunch of 15-year olds. However, I carry a water gun just in case. (just kidding!) The servers are for the most part efficient and courteous. Working in fast food sucks no matter how nice your bosses or co-workers may be, and most fast food workers hate their job, so I don't expect the workers there to smile and go out of their way to be personable. But they are professional. They say welcome how are you or may I take your order and have a nice day. Not always with a smile, but I don't expect them to smile. I just want them to look me in the eye and be professional, which they do. I should note that I usually get my food to go and if you plan on staying there is ample seating but I would try to go during off-peak (non-school) hours. I used to like Co-Op City's other McDonald's on Connor Street a lot better but thanks to improved service, I would say they're now on almost equal ground and an argument can be made this one is actually better since it has free refills (which neither connor street at least to my memory has, and the Burger King in Bay Plaza took away). The only really negative thing I have to say right now is I still miss the Boston Market that used to occupy this location. There's now a Popeye's next door but I've always liked Boston Market and KFC much better. However, there no longer being a Boston Market is obviously not McDonald's fault!

One of two McDonalds locations in the Co-op City area of the Bronx (the other is located at the corner of Boston Post Road and Conner Street), this McDonalds location opened in 2004 and has been an extreme success due to its close proximity to the Bay Plaza Shopping center. Usually busy on weekends and weekdays at lunch (when the place is bombarded with students from nearby Truman High School), the place is kept clean and customer service is great. The presence of a full-service latter bar now offers patrons a choice when looking for espresso drinks (formerly the only place nearby was the Barnes & Noble cafe). Dining space is large and this location has a busy drive-through. Great for kids and for those looking for a quick bite to eat without having to break their budget.

Not really my favorite McDonalds location to go to. I think at nights the workers really take forever to get your food to you. I was there really late on a thursday once, and they were fucking around and took forever just to get a Hot Fudge Sundae for me and there was only one other customer there.

Standard McDonald's. Nice clean bathrooms and friendly staff. The wait wasn't too long for the food either. Otherwise it tastes the same as every other McD's. Perfect drunk food.

  • James B.

No qualms about the food, but the employees tend to be very snappy, impatient, and rude. Depending on the time of year, there will be boatloads of rowdy teenagers in there making it an unflattering place to actually sit down and eat.
