The ribeye had a little more fat and gristle than I am used to. It was cooked medium well . Nasty home fries . I was hungry though do I devoured everything on my plate. Nothing to write home about at this restaurant. One suggestion to the management of your gonna bring pickles to the table maybe try adding coleslaw with it. Also so bread and butter of some kind.

After reading all the sub par reviews we were nervous trying this place. Don't always go by bad reviews...we were totally surprised when we came here on Saturday for our Valentines date. No wait at 6pm Saturday evening, we were brought to our table right away. Service was great, our waitress checked on us all night. We ordered the calamari, it came out quick and was perfect. I ordered the fillet and my boyfriend ordered the rib eye, both came out perfect and fast again. We weren't rushed out of the place or anything, full meal with wine and appetizers. We were in and out in an hour. We will definitely be back here again!

Awful! Salad for two was good for only one. My daughter ordered the sirloin medium cooked it was burnt outside but raw inside. And they gave us the cut with a lot of tendons so it was very tough to cut and chew Wouldn't recommend it and wouldn't go back again.

Great date night spot. Me and my girlfriend love the ambiance. Food was delicious. We started with a fresh brusch, which was fantastic. My girlfriend had the prime rib and she was in heaven . My steak was a little over cooked but also very good. Only reason for 4stArs was the service was below average

We have been here many times and always find the food first class. Parking is tough and there is almost always a wait to he seated unless you get there before 5:30. The French onion soup is delicious, with plenty of cheese and onions. I usually get the Major's ribeye, which is nicely cooked and comes with some excellent home fried potatos, though the baked and sweet potato fries are also good. Desert is average, though I do like their apple crisp with ice cream. Everything ia ala carte, typical of a steakhouse around here, but if you don't get carried away it doesn't come to an outrageous bill.

I got the Delmonico steak. It was huge. I will say that at $14.95 it's definitely a bang for your buck, but in my honest opinion, I would pay more to have a little more flavor in my steak. I had to douse it in Major's sauce and horseradish for it to have some kind of taste. That was the "major" downside, har har. The upside - unlimited pickles! Loved the sour pickles... not so much those salty ones. And the roasted garlic mashed potatoes - unbelievable. Probably so bad for you, but the butter and the garlic come together like no other. There is actually huge chunks of garlic clove sitting on top of the heap of potatoes and it adds a nice texture and flavor to the whole thing. That's about the only thing that made me give this place 3 stars. Service is A+.

What does it say to you when a company owns six restaurants and five of them take reservations? Despite the second-class citizen treatment at the reservation desk, Majors is still a place where you can get a nice meal. And thankfully, that lack of reservation taking might keep away the kind of diners that expect such treatment. And hence prices have to be kept reasonable for those of us peasants who don't mind waiting. As for the meal, the steaks are not quite the cut that you will get at Luger's or Bryant and Cooper. But they are still cooked properly and taste good beside a potato, which is included, and if you're smart add an extra side dish of their yummy creamed spinach. The service is better than pleasant so Majors is still a good choice.

I had the Delmonico Ribeye and it was delectable & savory along with a perfect amount of marbelling. The garlic sliced mashed potatoes were strong enough to keep vampires yet subtle and paired well with my steak. Don't miss the key lime pie.

Simply awesome I always knew that I have been coming here for over 10 years when the mood strikes for a great steak , but recently I had visitors from Texas the cattle capital and they were all smiles , talking about that's the tastiest steak they have had . I was worried that our NY steak houses wouldn't compare to the Texas beef . What can say this review is well deserved

Always a good steak at Majors. I had the Majors Ribeye, medium, and it come out perfect. I have never had a negative experience here. Unfortunately, tonight, the waitress left a little to be desired. This is why the stars are 4 instead of 5!

I've been going to majors for over 10 years, there is a great relaxed ambiance to the restaurant. The food has always been very good, however I have noticed over the last few years that the prices have been increasing and the food quality decreasing. This is not to say that the food is bad, it's just not quite as amazing as it once was. I recommend the majors steak and the prime rib, always taste great.

I went out on a date to this restaurant tonight. The service was okay. The decor of this restaurant is like an Applebee's. I thought it would be more of a classy place but I was wrong. You heard the waiters talk the entire time. The ceaser salad was good too much dressing. The calamari was very chewy. I ordered skirt steak which was good but alot of fat on it. My friend ordered sirloin medium rare and it came out raw. The creamed spinach was terrible had to send it back. The mashed potatoes were made about a week ago; you could taste it. My drink had barely any Malibu in it and it took ten minutes to get a corona. Would I recommend this place, no. I will never be back.

I've been going to Major's Steakhouse in East Meadow for many years. The food is terrific, but the service is going down hill. On a recent visit, the food was thrown at us very quickly after ordering. The waitress was absent after that. She finally returned and we asked for a refill of drinks. Very soon after the drink arrived, so did the bill and we were being rushed out. The staff kept clearing first our plates, then the salt shakers, wine menu, everything but pulling the checkered table clothes out from under us. When we left, what I believe was an assistant manager said loudly "THEY'RE GONE". This is not a fast food establishment or a diner. We were not there an unusually long time, ordered right away without opening the menu. I feel we were treated very rudely.

Try this place for Sunday brunch.. it will surprise you..... it's good. Steak here are hit or miss lately. A bit fatty for the majors steak.. and the smaller lean del monico with a five shrimp is $28.. overpriced now.. used to be $14. The bar is nice... and a popular place to have dinner... with a few extra bar tables for spillover crowds.. if needed.. Get the fresh mozzerella... get the majors steak... only if the server agrees with sincerity to get you a lean cut..... some are to young too negotiate with the cook .. or dare to pick it for you... so... if they dont.. it will be too fatty. They have a real tasty creamed spinach.. with some type of chicken broth (secret ingredient) in it... The off the menu items - chicken fingers & fries.. are so good with a perfect mild sweet honey mustard. Also they have a small filet mignon and a skirt steak lunch for $10.. but you have to know about it, or no one will tell you. And if you sit near the electric fireplace.. order the french onion soup... it feels like your in a lodge. (Woodbury Majors has this) White russians are good... if you have a group... ( we used to come over from work with a group) order a pitcher of their draft beer... they have super fresh on tap Brooklyn Brown... which is medium dark & sudsey not bitter like Guiness at all. Never get that beer elswhere unless it is on tap, and fresh.. bottles are horid. Here it is great! Tip the bartenders well.. are all nice guys.

We selected Major's Steakhouse as an affordable choice to celebrate my husband's birthday. We new it was owned by Bryant & Coopers which is an excellent steakhouse, but out of our budget for this occasion. Well, this was definitely not a celebration. My husband ordered the two 8 oz. lobster tails @ $26.95. When served, we thought they made a mistake and served him 2 shrimp. The only saving grace was my daughter's prime rib, which was well prepared. Thank goodness because she shared half of it with my husband, so that he would have something to eat. My dad ordered the petite 8 oz. skirt steak. Even if they had served it on a bread plate, there would have been plenty of room for a side dish. I ordered filet mignon which was tasteless and overly charred. A pat of butter and some salt saved me from returning it. This was the most awful meal I have had in a long time and to have paid a premium price added insult to injury. I'm not a fan of chain restaurant but we would have had a much better experience at Outback. Bryant & Cooper should be embarrassed to have any association with this terrible "restaurant."

This place has been around forever, and we finally decided to try it out. I ordered the broiled shrimp with creamed spinach. The ambiance is about right, service was not so bad either, but my food was. The shrimp was very bland and there wasn't much of it. The broccoli on the plate was hardly cooked, and the spinach didn't taste fresh, or creamy. Apparently this is a rare case, so I'll give it another try.

Da Da Da Daa Da Da Da Daa Majors Steakhouse is an A-OK steakhouse, just like the rating bar says. Overall, I wouldn't say it was the best. But it had a good amt of positive stuff going for it that would make me want to refrequent it. The breakdown: Majors Steakhouse is owned by the same steakhouse as the higher-end Bryant & Cooper. I've never been to the latter but I hear that it's good. Unlike Bryant & Cooper though, this is a picnic-cloth, jean-wearing, Wednesday night dinner type of place. No suits. No drama. In terms of food, they had a nice selection of stuff. They gave you a bowl of pickles to start in replacement of bread. Can't say much about this because, well, I hate pickles. We ordered, to start, the baked clams and wings, both of which were good but not amazing. As I said... good middle of the week fare when you don't want to go crazy but want to have food that's at least pretty good. Best thing about the apps were the portion sizes. After the 2 orders, my boyfriend were already surprisingly filled and thanking ourselves that we didn't order 2 steaks. For the steak we ordered the Rib Eye. I have to say upon first taste that it wasn't the most flavorful. It probably could've used some salt and pepper, maybe a few others, but at least it was cooked to our specifications. We were able to eat it, not even finish it from being stuffed, and be sufficiently satisfied. In addition to the steak, we also ordered a side of sauteed broccoli and french fries. As I said, by the end of the meal we were both very full. I'm pretty sure I'd go here again. There was nothing really bad or good that make me love it, but since I love steak and my boyfriend (who doesn't) actually likes the place, it'd definitely be a go to... albeit on the occasion.

I have never been here before, and was driving around looking for a place to eat, as I am not from that area. It seems as though I got there just in time, as it got packed real fast, which is usually a good sign. The restaurant is cozy, and yes that means what everyone else means when the say cozy! They pack as many tables in there as they can and there is still a line. It gets noisy in there, so I felt bad when I had to ask the waiter a few questions about the specials. The steaks were very good. Out of 4 steaks however, only one was cooked to order. It was mine, so I made out ok. I got the 22oz. Ribeye which was very, very good. However, the one steak they killed, the manager came over, took it back, and replaced it with one cooked to perfection, and about twice the size of the first one! The mashed potatoes were amazing as well. In regards to the sides, you absolutely get what you pay for! They are expensive for a reason. I could not come close to finishing them. Try the clams oreganata. Try the steak! Try everything! I wish I could have. I will go back the next time I am out on the island.

Went here for lunch and got a cheddar cheeseburger. I loved the bun. This is a big burger too...reminds of the one's I used to make in Alabama (did a lot of grilling in Alabama apparently). The bun has tons of sesame seeds on it. The actual taste of the burger was just alright. Would I order the burger if I went here again? Yeah...would I go here just to get the burger? No. Decor is alright...kind of like a high end applebees...neighborhood steakhouse. I want to go one night for dinner...this place is supposed to have awesome steaks.

Came here a few weeks ago with a group of 5. Typical steakhouse setting with everything you'd expect to find. The Bucket of pickles is awesome. Really fresh and tasted great. Clams were nice and fresh as were shrimp and calamari. Most of us got the special Colorado Rib steak with was a huge rib eye with a garlic and shallot marinade. It was good but a little strong. I'd definitely go back but I'll skip the marinade. I like the steak to taste like meat . Our waitress was really great very attentive and had a great personality.

Ask for the bone in rib steak with garlic and shallets maranaide which is outstanding. Note: It's not on the menu. I add a "char" to it, to finish the taste to my liking.

My wife & I wanted to stay local so we decided to try Majors. We were seated in the upstairs dining area which was kind of loud as the acoustics from the crowd downstairs were amplified through a balcony we sat next to. The wait staff were not very friendly as well as the girl who had seated us and the manager appeared to be in a rush to make his rounds through the dining area without saying a word to the customers. Drink orders took a while to get to the table. Appetizers came out rather quick but the ribs were cold. Buffalo wings were great. Order the 12oz steak well done, came to the table like shoe leather and very fatty. The Majors sauce tasted like cocktail sauce. the menu did not have much of a selection sorta boring if you ask me. I guess my overall thought would be if you want a good steak, stick with Outback or cook your own. I was quite disappointed.

Horrific .... Went there late April and ordered the majors steak (ribeye) for 32.00 and it was tough and had more gristle than the cheapest cut of beef you could think of. The kicker (just to add insult to injury) is the portion size of the French fries (you are 'allowed' choice of potato.) I wish I had a food scale because I swear it was literally 1 oz of French fries. Where does the chef think we are, at a weight watchers meeting ? Do you know how cheap it is for a restaurant to make a reasonably sized portion of French fries ? Like five cents . I mean the steak is so friggin bad at least they could delight the f$ck out of the customer and fill up the plate with French fries. Never going back there and i really hope they go out of business. They don't deserve to have the privilege of being a restaurant in New York

majors steak house is, just that, "A-OK" . Casual middle of the week steakhouse, with good service, good steaks and sides. definitely great value.

We eat here every Friday night...EVERY FRIDAY NIGHT. We split the porterhouse, a side of garlic mashed potatoes and sauteed brocolli. DELICIOUS. The service is always top notch on the weekend, though slightly less on off hours like lunch or sunday/monday when they let the B-Squad wait staff take over. The food is always excellent, we have taken atleast a dozen people here and everyone of them gets hooked. We have also hosted family parties here and have never been dissapointed. BOTTOM LINE: If you are within 25 minutes and you want a great steak without putting on a sports coat or a skirt GO TO MAJOR'S! PS: The Woodbury one kind of sucks in comparison.

It's not exactly Ruth Chris or Strip House in New York City. However, it's one of the better steak houses in Long Island. The food is average and there are two dinning areas in this restaurant. Unlike most steak houses this one is very casual. The decor is just average not modern or cozy. Dark wood is the chosen decor which sets the mood to be dreary on patrons.

    (3)
  • Darcy P.

I'm really starting to wonder who decides who is "Best of Long Island" because none of the places are ever good! I had eaten at Majors a few times with mediocre experiences. The skirt steak is what I could make at home, the sides are the same boring sides you would find anywhere, the only thing they had going for them above other typical LI "steakhouses" was the bucket of pickles and pickles tomatoes. A few weeks ago a friend and I decided to stay local and I figured why not majors, casual and inexpensive perfect for a Sunday dinner. I was so incredibly embarrassed to have recommended the place since I pride myself on eating well. The famed pickles looked welted and tasted like they had been served to at least 2 tables prior. The steak was under cooked and tasted like they picked it up at the Supermarket down the block. i stupidly order grilled swordfish that, I am completely convinced, was a frozen paddy which was dry even with the shabby tomato and onion slop they through on top. All in all, we left only having eaten not even 1/4 of our entrees, the swordfish doggy bag leaked in my car and my cat wouldn't even look at the leftover steak. Go to Margaritas down the block, at least they know how to cook steak and seafood properly.

Of the two Majors locations, I like this one the best. They have red checkered table clothes and a lot of dark wood and a lot of the snobbier people will say it is not Luger's or Morton's and they are right- it is not either of those places. It is owned by the Bryant & Cooper people and it is less formal than any of the usual meat palaces out on Long Island. The food is excellent and the daily specials are usually a great choice. There is a dining room upstairs as well as down and a good sized bar on the main level manned by excellent bartenders. Pretty good sized parking lot and excellent service all around.

    (4)
  • Zach F.

The food is very good and the price is right. Does it compare to a Peter Luger, no it does not. Neither does the bill, thankfully. Crab claw appetizer is very very good, and I hear they have lots of great specials.

I have been a customer for many years taking my family almost every Sunday evening. Not long ago I took my son and his girlfriend. We both ordered the ribs, she had fish. About one hour after we got home, my son and I got violently ill. it was one of the worst feelings ever and it lasted several hours. I will not get into the description to spare all the details but I will say we probably should have gone to a hospital. The next day I called and the manager claimed we were the first people ever to claim this. Hard to believe but who am I to question someone. He said he would make a note an when we came back he would cover dinner for us. Certainly we didn't want to pay for a meal that resulted in such sickness. We had a hard time getting ourselves to go back. The thought of going there scared me but finally about 6 months later we brought the family. The manager I spoke with was off and the acting manager said he couldn't do anything for us. We went to a different place. We recently went again and the manager I spoke with was there. I said he did not recall anyone ever getting sick and that he didn't remember speaking to me. He offered me a beer. Whoa...I stayed for the kids but did not eat and can never go back. I understand shit happens now and then but at least be honest and do the right thing. Bad call Majors...we were good customers for over 10 years.

Went here last weekend for my Mom's birthday. This was our first and last time. This place is terribly noisy because they have too many tables crammed in it. For a steakhouse, the steak menu is too small. The garlic bread was soggy and my steak was tough. The only soup on the menu is onion. No soup of the day. We also thought the menu was a bit pricey for being a neighborhood spot. Our server was nice and attentive. We will stick with Outback in the future!!

    (2)
  • Paula Jean K.

The whole experience was just terrible. I'm still shaking my head. Whose leading this pack? The manager who doesn't know how to pour a beer or make a cocktail? The bartender whose eating at the bar and watching the manager screw up? The waitstaff who are congragated in the corner chatting loudly? Someone call Restaurant Stakeout!

  • Carlita S.

Pretty Good. My boyfriend loved it. Me not so much. The service was great and the ambiance. I was not a fan of the mashed potatoes and I am a mashed potato feign. They came out kind of Luke warm and clumpy. The creamed spinach was ok although I wish it was creamier. I was disappointed there was no bread and butter and they only give you pickles. As far as steak goes it was very good and cooked how we asked. I don't have that many complaints but it's just not my go to steakhouse. would I want to return? probably not. The ice burg salad with their house made vinaigrette was good. If I could get the recipe of that dressing o would. Incomparable to Ruth Chris. Ruth Chris is way better.

I was really hoping that I had found a great local steak place. What a disappointment. Yes, the twilight deal may seem good for $22, but overall the food was not great. The onion soup looked good, but way too salty to be edible. The rest of the food needed salt for flavor. The twilight menu was extremely limited, so we found that most of us did not order through the special menu. The strip steak was best out of all our entrees. The mashed potatoes were a strange consistency. The apple crisp was actually all crisp and no apple. The service was great. Loved the wait staff. If the kitchen can complement the service it would be a great place.

  • Joyce L.

Read the reviews and it's all over the place. I decided to take a chance and it was fine. The service was OK. The food was great. I had the Columbus cut steak and it was very good. We went with all the suggestions from the reviews and everything was tasty. Look, it's not Peter Luger but I wanted a good steak for a good price and that's what I got. I needed red meat and didn't want to waste my time and money on a sub par steak. This did the job. I also chose this place because I wanted something nice, but not dressy, and some place that would be good with two infants. This place was perfect.

Have been to Major's several times before a concert at Jones Beach, as a friend likes their steak. Recently, I used a gift card the same friend got me. We did Cheeseburgers for four, came with those tiny shoe string potatoes that taste like oil and not potatoes. steak fries were what we were expecting, or something that actually might taste like a potato. The burgers were smaller than the bun substantially and all were Well done, when we requested Medium Rare. It was a take out order so we ate them even though we were quite disappointed in the quality and over cooking. Just a bad experience I guess, No plans of going back again.

Sadly, we just moved from Long Island and will probably not find a steakhouse like Majors again. My family has been coming here for years and have never been disappointed. Their steaks have the perfect marbling to give them outstanding flavor. Found out that they are the same steaks that are sold to Bryant and Cooper. Their house dressing and chunks of blue cheese make their wedge salad memorable. Their wait staff is friendly and the manager always stops by to see that everything is OK. It is a nice homey atmosphere especially if you can sit by the fireplace. Overall, this is a great meal for half the price of Peter Luger's. East Meadow's best kept secret!

I cannot get enough of the marinated skirt steak from Majors. I grew up going to the one in Woodbury and after it closed I decided to start making the drive to East Meadow because I missed eating at Majors. The calamari is amazingly fresh and really melts in your mouth. The wedge salad is a classic and always delicious. My boyfriend ordered the ribs which were quickly devoured. My all time favorite steak and one that I continue to crave is the marinated skirt steak which comes smothered in onions, peppers, and the marinade, it is SO good. The burgers here are really great also. I will continue coming back to Majors. Great food, great drinks, and a great atmosphere!

I've been here a few times already, and overall I wouldn't come here if I had a choice. First of all, parking is small and horrendous. While the steaks are certainly juicy and cooked as you like it, the sides are disappointing, as are the appetizers, The caesar salad I had to start with was soggy and just gross. The french fries are bland and soggy as well. What kinda steakhouse doesn't have great potato sides?? The cherry on top of one night at Majors was that we ordered apple crisp, and they were out of it, We ended up going to Millers and getting our fix. While the steaks are cheap and it's a nice family restaurant, Majors just isn't memorable enough to keep going back.

I finally tried this place after driving past it for years .I had a craving for a good steak that only steakhouses can make. the good: kind hostess and manager greeted us upon arrival. the skirt steaks were cooked right, flavorful, tender (a lil heavy on the sauce...) french onion soup was awesome food arrived fast but not too fast. i was able to enjoy my soup. the bad: the apple crisp was gross, mushy, and not crispy at all. (i am true fan of apple crisp and i know what it should taste like, it was probably microwaved) BUT, i will say the server took it back w/o any attitude the creamed spinach did not taste fresh, a real steakhouse should have a GOOD creamed spinach. Finally, the manager watched us walk out past him and did not say "good night". I watched him say good night to everybody that left b4 us, even when he was in the middle of a conversation, he made a point to speak to all leaving guests. EXCEPT US. (i even turned to look at him, still no "good night") so if you are a certain color I'm sure that will not be a problem for you. the place was good, it just didnt wow me. I could spend $75 elsewhere.

We went here once. I always wanted to try it because we live only a few blocks away and we have friends who travel up to 30minutes away to come to this place. We went on a Saturday afternoon, fairly early in the afternoon. It was deserted, the place was dingy looking, the furniture was very "pub" like and the food was tasteless. Neither of us went for the steak, so maybe that explains it? I had a shrimp and my husband a chicken dish. We also had glasses of wine. Our bill came and I was shocked at the price because the food was not what I was expecting. I had eaten better at Applebee's. In any event, we haven't been back. Perhaps it was just that night.

I've been going to Majors for many years. Dinners, holidays and family celebrations. Had just about everything on the menu. Everything was always good and reasonably priced. Love the bowl of pickles. The Majors in Syosset recently closed down and maybe its a sign. We ordered burgers which have always been top notch as far as quality and flavor. We ordered 1 hamburger and 1 cheeseburger both with home fries. One medium and the other medium well. They both came out raw! The server basically threw them down and ran away and we had to ask another server to bring them back. Of course, they were both well done when they came back. I have always enjoyed the home fries. They were burnt and just not fresh. How could they even serve them? Our plates were taken away with not a question as to why we didn't eat the food. We were so disgusted and disappointed. Chalk another restaurant off the list! Very sad!

A MAJOR disappointment. You get what you pay for and for $20 more per person, I would rather eat a "real" steak. Good service though but if you are used to the big league steak houses please don't even bother trying. Go where the steaks are high and save this place for when the Affordable Health Care Act forces you to tighten your purse strings.

The food was just okay...staff was nothing great...still not sure how the SPECIAL was porterhouse for two with two sides for 84.00 and two individual porter house dinners with 1 side each is 38 for total of 76.00 manager basically said it is what it is and when I asked what made it a special he said he didn't know?!? Overall for the price.. I would choose somewhere else!

Always good. My go to steakhouse. Good food, good service, reasonable prices. It may not be Ruth's Chris, or Peter Lugars, but it won't cost anyway near those rates. Love the Twilight Specials, the Filet Mignon, potatoes and desserts. You will be hard pressed to find better value. Just two minor complaints. Stop charging for soda refills and give us bread. I'll add another star then.

I really wanted to be able to rate 3 1/2 stars and here's why atmosphere is a little outdated do not care for the picnic style table cloths kinda dark but very loud. shrimp cocktail app was very good but the lobster cocktail was another story although the lobster was cook perfectly I did not care for the plating at all a lobster cut in in half sitting on the plate shell and all (not classy) and I could still see the green gunk that they cleaned out of the body (yuck) also very small portion for the money on to the entrée my husband had the boneless prime rib and it was cooked perfectly but very chewy he said he would not order this again. I had the Colorado rib eye which was also cooked perfect but also a little chewy although seasoned to perfection mashed potato's both the regular and the wasabi were both very good but the side of mushroom's was weird it was kinda thick like they added flour to the pan ( not a fan) I'm not sure if we will return or not we kinda like high end places and I think with the prices they charge they are trying to be high end but they are not so if they lowered the prices maybe there rating would come up a little from other patrons because they wouldn't be expecting so much

Great food, service. Manager Bob is awesome. Makes you feel like he cares. Came to table to see how we were doing. Really made a difference!

If you want a quality piece of meat, Major's is your place. I've been going here for a long, long time. But recently the prices have gone way up and it's not as reasonable as it used to be. This was a hot spot for my family... we had big parties here often. The restaurant is pretty big. Definitely will accodomate large parties or even if you're going on a date for two. The staff is super-friendly and boy do they work fast there. This restaurant has big leather booths and a comfortable yet casual feel. If you're waiting for a table, the bar is nice too. As for the food: -The Filet Mignon: Of course a really nice quality of meat. It's a lean 10oz cut and they cook it pretty much to perfection. I usually stick with Medium. But I know that my uncle likes his Rare.... pretty much stil moo-ing haha. They know how to cook to order. -NY Sirloin: Personally, my favorite. It's a big cut of meat though... 16oz. I'm never able to finish the whole thing. It's full of flavor. -Sides: Mashed Potatoes: Creamy, buttery goodness. Also they come in wasabi flavored! -Crispy onion strings: They're not on the menu but if you ask for them, they're these shoestring crispy onion. They go great on a steak or burger. -Sauce: Their homemade house steak sauce is DELICIOUS. It's sweet and savory all in one jar. If you come here, you have to try this. They sell it there too. A bit pricey, but with good quality food.

Majors has been around for quite some time but I've never dined at one of their establishments before. It's a perfectly good steakhouse with a casual environment. BF, his friend, and I came here last Friday night because I was craving meat. We started with a dozen baked oreganata clams, served with a side of bread for dipping! I'm so glad they brought out the bread because we need to lop up every bit of the sauce once the clams were done. The clams were also big and meaty instead of already ripped out, chopped up, and placed back into the clam shell. Nicely done! I ordered the petite skirt steak, cooked medium rare. It was perfectly cooked and delicious, served over a bed of sauteed veggies. Darling BF had the rib eye steak I think? It was also tasty and he ended up saving a portion for for the next day (steak and eggs breakfast! woohoo). Friend had a burger, and the fries were amazing! I kept stealing from his plate. Overall, a great option to when you're having a craving and not looking to spend an arm and a leg on a meal.

I've been coming here for over twenty years. Never had a bad experience. Favorites are the ribeye, filet migon, calamari, garlic mashed potatoes. Absolute favorite are the burgers. Service is always good, the regular hostess very accommodating. The fireplace is nice in the winter. My wife is a vegetarian and likes the spinach, Caesar salad and the salmon. I usually go for lunch when it's quiet, but if I go for dinner and it's busy I like the booths upstairs or the bar. The ambiance and building are great. Realizing that the only things I don't like are the tap beer selection and recent price increase, I give five stars.

This was a 'major' letdown! We were a party of 3 where 2 of us ordered steaks and 1 fish. The steak was so greasy! In fact, I had to drain the grease onto the bread plate. We started with the appetizer plate of cold seafood for 4 people which wasn't terrible but wasn't anything special! It definitely wasn't fresh as it was covered in ice. The sautéed mushrooms were cut canned mushrooms In a canned gravy of sorts. Then we ordered the garlic mashed potatoes which were puréed mush with roasted garlic on top and the garlic bread which was the best thing we ordered. Seriously, for $264 for four people this was the worst meal I can remember. As I sit at my hotel bar and look around at the burgers and fries and regurgitate this terrible food all I can think is where is Golden Coral or Ponderosa as they cook a better steak than this place.

I'm actually really surprised there are negative reviews for this place. Every time I have been here it has been consistently out-of-this-world! My favorite thing is the twilight menu - an amazing deal. You get an app, entree, and dessert for $22. By the end of that I'm so stuffed I can hardly move. The thing really to go on about here is the ribs. They are the absolute best ribs I have had in my life. Nowhere beats them. The BBQ sauce is just slightly sweet and so delicious, and the ribs are the most tender and flavorful I've ever had. I wish I could recreate the sauce so I can make them at home. I also had the NY strip last time I was there. For the price, it's really a phenomenal steak. It was cooked perfectly and was very moist and had a delicious charred flavor, not to mention it was very large. I could eat at this place every night. It's a great casual steakhouse where you can get tremendous food for half the price of a high-end place like Teller's or Insignia. I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant. The people are nice and the food is amazing. IGNORE THE BAD REVIEWS - you won't be disappointed!

I came here Friday evening with my family as I heard so much about Major's and I was definitely long overdue for a nice steak dinner. We arrived around 5:30, which is a great head's up because a half hour later, we would not have gotten a table. I loved everything about this steak house. It has a really casual, comfortable and laid back atmosphere. I've been to the upper scale steak houses and this makes such a difference. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, asking us if we'd prefer being seated upstairs or downstairs. Very nice, varied menu, but this time around we decided to order from the early bird menu. Another head's up, this is offered Sunday-Friday (4PM-7PM) except holidays. for $19.95, you get a choice of House or Caesar Salad, choice of Baby Back BBQ Ribs, Marinated Skirt Steak, Atlantic Salmon or Chicken Paillard, and dessert. We all ordered the 16 oz. Marinated Skirt Steak a la Stone which comes over sauteed onions, mushroom and pimento's. The steak is marinated in a very light teryaki sauce. I asked if I could just have the onions and the waiter was very obliging. You also get one side dish with your entree and I chose the garlic mashed potatoes, which had little pieces of roasted garlic sprinkled on top. Everything was absolutely delicious, including the garlic bread we ordered as an appy. My steak was prepared to perfection, the potatoes very fresh and creamy. My entire family enjoyed theirs as well. The wait time was minimal despite having every table in the restaurant taken at this point. Although dessert came with our entrees, my husband and I gave ours to the kids and split the New York Cheesecake, served with fresh strawberry topping and real homemade whipped cream. There is not one negative thing I can say about Majors. We may try the Woodbury location next time, only because they offer Mac and Cheese as a side, which are my kids favorite. Other than that, I think I found myself a new favorite Steak House.

Ate here Saturday night. Everything was good but I felt the food was very poor. They give you a side of pickles at the table which I think is cool. However, my first bite there was something hard. The hard piece was an actual staple. Turned me off immediately. I understand mistakes happen and a staple is very small to see but why are there staples near the food anyway? We ordered the Tricolor salad to start and it was ok. For dinner I ordered the Colorado Rib eye, baked potato and the mushrooms. She ordered the Filet, baked potato. broccoli and the famous home fries. The steaks weren't bad but the side dishes were not good. Broccoli had little to no flavor, the home fries tasted like they were sitting around and just heated up in the microwave. Baked potato's were good and the mushrooms weren't anything to talk about. I ordered the apple crisp for dessert and it was just mushed apples and some crust with a scoop of vanilla on top. The key lime pie wasn't bad because it was definitely store bought. Overall, I would not come here again food was mediocre. there are other steak houses that I would recommend before coming here

Got the prime rib here. It was OK, i've had better. Meat was overcooked came out probably medium/medium well (I ordered medium rare) and salty for my liking. (and I like salt!) Prices are pretty reasonable for a steakhouse though. Had some other tasty things to try, but I forgot what they were so it wasn't that memorable.

Not the best steakhouse on the island (not even close), but certainly very good and a great value overall for what you get (especially compared to other steakhouses). The porterhouse was cooked medium to medium well when I ordered it medium rare...a big no for a steakhouse but still was tasty. The clams oregenano were out of this world. Calamri and garlic bread were good, but standard. Creamed spinach was one of the best I've had. Place also has a great selection of beers. Service was excellent. I'd definitely come back here again
