We went for an early dinner for my son's confirmation. We were a party of 8. The room was very comfortable, I imagined having dinner in the garden room of a mansion. The service was excellent. The food starting with appetizers and ending with dessert were all excellent. Our table ordered a wide variety, from sandwiches, burgers and salads to pasta and steak. All were delicious. I highly recommend the bulldog grille for great food, great service and a great atmosphere.

Food is terrible, fast food on a fancy plate.. for a drink the place is ok.. I live across the street and would be a regular if they served decent food..

Worst place ever. The bartender took for ever to notice me to order food and some drinks. and when he did said I was under age and I needed to leave. after producing my real ID and debit cards to prove it was me and I am 23, he still said it was fake and proceeded to threaten to call the cops. Even though the cops would have proved my case. He didn't call the cops and let me order food. it came back cold and when I pointed it out, he said I need to leave his establishment for being to drunk and disorderly.

I went there today, and the customer service was fine, but my food was dry and tasteless. If you want a nice looking smile you should go there located right by the village, great location.

The food was decent, nothing special. American pub-style, although the rice balls were unique and tasty. But our waitress Danielle was terrible. We sat around for over 20 minutes while the bartender tried to fix one of their taps. She never asked if we wanted to put in an order for appetizers while we waited, or brought water to anyone waiting for their beer. Speaking of water, mine sat empty when she dropped off the appetizers, continued to be empty while I ate said appetizers, until I finally had to drink all of my boyfriends water. It was nice to be able to remember how mediocre the appetizers were by getting to stare at the empty plates stacked on the table while eating our entrees. Danielle never came back to check how the food was, or she might have known I needed extra napkins. I had to get up from the table and get my own from the waitress's counter next to the kitchen. How embarrassing for the owners to have customers waiting on themselves. Then we waited for another 20 minutes for our check after we asked for it, which she forgot to split, so we had to wait for it again. If you've got the nerve to charge $15 for a sandwich, at least bring some good service on the side.

My bf and I come here often because it's right down the road from his house. While it's true that some bartenders like to serve their local friends before they even look at you, I've never had a bad enough experience with them to not come back. Drinks are fairly cheap. They make a mean chocolate martini, which always wins me over in any bar I check out. The food is pretty good, since they're also a restaurant. The one bad experience I had here was the last time I went. My bf and I were seated next to a table of loud, obnoxious men who completely ruined my mood. And since they were friends with the manager and bartenders, no one told them to pipe down. In fact, they were belligerently drunk, and the bartender still did shots with them towards the end of the night. Eck. If you're in the area and want a few drinks to watch the game or a nightcap, check out the bulldog. It's certainly not, however, a place you should go out of your way to come to.

so where to begin, I recently moved to the area, and a few friends who use to live near by recommend I check this place out. My fiancé and I finally went, and we're terribly disappointed. The food all tasted like it was pre-prepared and just reheated. the sirloin steak "medallions" never said anything about being served on a loaf of bread. The onion straws were stale and cold, I told the waitress about the onion straws and she apologized and was quick to tell the kitchen. the "NEW" ones came out and were still stale just heated up, presumably in a microwave like all the other food. Upon informing the waitress yet again, she again apologized and this time offered to tell the manager. She then returned with an offer of a free desert, which we refused. Instead of deducting a small amount off the rather pricey reheated meat and stale onions, she just gave us our check. I was more then pleased to just pay and walk away, because I can guarantee, I will never be back there.

I guess this is a good bar for locals to go to but if you're not from the area and you're just passing thru, good luck with that. I came here with Mike last Sunday afternoon at around 3 or 4 o'clock . We sat at the bar and the bartender could care less about us! He was chatting away with this one and that one and this one and that one but he never saw the lassie (or laddie) right in front of him. We just wanted a beer. He came over eventually but it was such an effort. So, we left.

The food was good and the service on par. A nice place to go out with friends and drink or get some food.

Atmosphere not bad - this place is better for bar food/appetizers, rather than the entrees. Martinis are really good, but table service is severly lacking. Nice waitresses, but not very attentive. Only time we saw her was when we flagged her down to take our order and get our bill - we had to grab the bus boy several times to bring us water, get her to get more drinks, etc. Tables next to us also asked other people walking by to "find their waitress" (a different one, mind you, so appears systemic).

Awful. Dried out chicken wings. Fatty chewy oversalted meat. Drinks only at this place food is putrid. DO NOT EAT HERE

My husband and I went for lunch. We been before and had mediocre experiences so decided to try again. We probably should have turned around immediately on noticing the stench that greets you on entrance and the wait time to be seated in an almost-empty dining room. Service throughout the experience was awful. The waitress was inattentive and forgetful -- had to ask twice for water. The manager on duty was more of a hindrance than a help to the wait staff. She sat in a corner with what appeared to be family members who had come in for lunch. We didn't even realize she was the manager until we'd been there a while and saw her get up to seat new arrivals. Our waitress was so busy socializing with the manager's party that our drinks sat on the bar for at least 10 minutes before she decided to deliver them. I regularly tip upwards of 20% but on this occasion chose to leave half that. On the plus side, the food was pretty good. The menu is pretty diverse and they were accommodating with requested substitutions.

I've been coming to this bar for quite some time. The bar is great, the food is decent, definitely a step up from bar food, and I've had a decent time. However, recently I booked my office party there. THAT WAS INCREDIBLE. we had a private top floor and our own bar. I loved the private patio/balcony. I felt we got major bang for our buck. The service was impeccable and the bartender was amazing. We will always have our holiday party there from now on. I know I'm going to book that place for all of my future party events.

Bar / Grille The Bulldog has been here in one form or another for a long time. The location pretty much ensures a steady stream of customers as there isn't another restaurant of this type anywhere in the area. The place is pretty big- big bar in front and plenty of seating on the upper levels- the building is an old house and the rooms are still visible. The bar was manned by two friendly bartenders- we had some fun sitting there. You can pack a lot of people in there. The food was very good. This restaurant is part of the Lessings group which owns many decent places around Long Island. I had a really good French onion soup and portobello sandwich. My friend had a huge ass burger! All in all very good and I would go back. Plenty of parking in the rear

Me and a couple friends sat at the bar for about 20 minutes without being acknowledged. The bartender had no problem serving anybody that wasn't us. We used the restroom and kinda just got up and left while no one seemed to notice or care.

Atmosphere: not too shabby. Music: decent. Bartenders: friendly and helpful. Food: I was there on steak night - the steak was passable but nothing to write home about. The veggies and mashed potatoes were pretty bland - not even an attempt at seasoning on those. Overall, not a bad place - and I get the feeling their sandwiches are better than their steaks. If you're in the area I'd say there's not much better for 5+ miles - unless you want to drop $35/person on dinner.

This place is more of a restaurant than a bar. The restaurant area is nice and has plenty of comfortable seating. The bar area has about 7 big screen TVs. The bar area is adequate unless there is a popular event on TV, say like Sunday football. They just don't have enough seating. They have space for at least 4 more tables and chairs, each seating 4. But instead they have open space with people standing around, waiting for someone to leave. They have a 20 cent wing special during the game and the wings are good. But you may have to stand to eat them. Unless you get their $2.50-3.00 beer specials, their draft beer is expensive. $5 to $6 for a draft is steep. Bar service is slow.

This place was a gem! Service was top notch and the food was great...TRY THE BURGERS! They had a live group playing called The Latham Road Band. They were fantastic!!! Can't wait to go back!
