I'm going to disagree with the other reviewers. I go here with my wife often. The food is fresh and well prepared. The wait staff is courteous. The prices seem fine. We've had items off the regular menu, pizza and tried various specials. All have been just fine. I highly recommend this place. Sorry to hear others haven't had a great experience. If you swing by, you'll see that there are lots of people inside. The place has been there for decades. It's a family owned and operated business and they seem to take pride in their food and establishment. So I recommend it.

Every time my brother comes to town he wants to go the the "HVI" as he calls it! So last week when he was in town we went. We had a brand new waiter, Michael, and it was his first night. He couldn't have been more gracious! He was an excellent waiter and we were a pretty demanding pair, let me tell you. He didn't waiver a bit! Each and every request was met with a smile and he met each and every one of them. As far as the food goes, it's great! I had the best turkey club sammy, my bro had an incredible burger melt, and we split some wings, which were awesome. I will say that Michael recommended the garlic parm wings and we weren't fans - but the teriyaki and hot wings were splendid! A few days after my brother left I decided to do some takeout. After I got home and unpacked my stuff I realized they left some items that I specifically requested out (extra salad in lieu of french fries, extra salad dressing), and that the turkey club wasn't like the one I had while dining in. I called and s/w the manager on duty, Jason, and he couldn't do enough to make it right. Not only that, but the owner actually called me 20 minutes later and offered to drive over another order right then and there!!! I have to say they sure are wizards at customer service and being in the hospitality business know what they're doing. I highly recommend this place - the food is great, the service excellent, and you can guarantee if your order is not up to par they will do what it takes to make it right.

I was really close to giving this place a 4. It's a solid 3+ in my opinion. I'm not sure what the people who complained about the prices on the food were talking about. Premium beers and ciders were $4.50 each and my bowl of soup was $2.25. The prices on the menu all looked very reasonable, so while I can't speak to those items we didn't order I can't see why people would say they were overpriced either. It was neat and roomy and not sleazy looking at all. There were lots of families eating there, especially considering how deserted everything in this town seems to be, but the service was just fine. We didn't feel rushed or forgotten.

I struggled with the decision to rate this 2 or 3 stars. I've been here two or three times. The food is not great but not bad. I feel it's overpriced for what it is. Service is fine, but can be spotty especially when the place does not have a lot of customers in it. The setup is a little weird, and it's hard to see us customers behind the wall. The place is popular, but I think it's because there is not much else nearby. There's a large bar. I suspect they do some dancing or something here on weekend nights. Fine if you are in the area and need some family-friendly food, but don't make the trip just to come here. If you are there, though- definitely stop in the Country store across the street, it's adorable. Read my profile for more about how I rate places; I consider this a 2.5 star establishment.

For my money, this place has the best burgers in the Kingston area. The depth of the menu isn't fantastic, but I've always gone for the burgers and I've never been disappointed. It's a fun atmosphere, and it's a good place to go for lunch.

Over priced. Seriously 2 people just getting hamburgers and soda was over $30. Who charges for soda refills also still?

My family has been going to the Hurley Mountain Inn for years. The food is very good and widely varied so it works well for all ages. The prices are reasonable and you get lots of food for your money. We particularly like the corned beef dinners that are served for about a week around St. Patrick's Day. The place has character and is worth going out of your way for. The staff has always been attentive and helpful. The game room keeps the younger ones (or older ones) occupied while waitng for their food. If you want a formal dinner this is not the place. If you want a fun place with good food, this is it.

I haven't been back here for quite some time, but made it a point to come back after over 15 years to have some of their wings. Well I was not disappointed!!! They have not changed their wings all this time and this is a testimony to how good they are. The decor hasn't changed much either. They still have the photos of celebrities by their small arcade games area in the back, all they way back from the Woodstock days! I stick with what I know is good their so please consider my rating for only those items. The wings and Burgers are great and I in fact took two wing orders home for the family as they also had fond memories of them! We orders the sauce on the side though for the trip back home! This place is worth a detour if you're on 87 and around the Kingston area!

It had been a long time since I've been to the Hurley Mountain Inn. 15 years in fact. I used to live in the little yellow house right next to City Hall back in 1996, when I was a medical resident in Kingston. So I have a lot of fond memories of the Inn as well as the parking lot (noisy at night sometimes). Anyway, the Hurley Mountain Inn used to be, I suppose the best word for it, a dive. It had a lot of dead stuffed animals on the walls. On Wednesdays, you would throw peanut shells all over the floor. There was beer and wings and pizza and pool. It was a great place. Still a great place, but they really have cleaned it up. I suppose it's to appeal more to families. It was a Wednesday afternoon when we went, there were some folks there watching the World Cup on the TV's, drinking beer, and having food. We had wings. And boy, they have not changed the recipe. The wings, especially the hot wings, were excellent. Just what I was hoping for. My wife had the turkey club, my son had a mountain burger, but other son had chicken, and I had a club as well. Fantastic. Really loved it, and there was TONS of food. You will not leave hungry. Prices were very reasonable, especially for the amount of food you got. I miss the dead animals. But the Hurley Mountain Inn does not disappoint in its true purpose, which is to feed you, entertain you, and bring you back to simpler times.

The burgers are tasty enough for a frozen patty. It's a shame they don't buy local and use farm fresh ingredients considering we have such abundance in this area. At least I'd they used fresh meats and produce their prices would be warranted. The atmosphere leaves something to be desired. The chairs weather at the bar or in the dining room are very uncomfortable. Also if you are like me and enjoy seeing your food this place is not for you. It is very poorly lit at any time of day. Don't even get me started on the music, have they not heard of variety, not everyone in this area likes country.

Over priced for what you get...slow service (she was busy texting) ambience reminds you of cafeteria

Little known fact: this is the place where the upstate bar scene for "Tootsie", the hit movie starring Dustin Hoffman was filmed. If you see it from the outside, it's obvious. I've never been inside.
