I stopped in today for a late lunch and tried the Bulgogi. Delicious! The meat was full of flavor. And the family running it were really friendly. Definitely will be going back again to try the other items.

Love Salt & Pepper! The food is delicious.... with specials like Yaki U-Dong, Japanese noodles with fresh veggies and shrimp, or terryaki chicken with fried rice, or even just a turkey wrap with fresh tomatoes and avocado... EVERYTHING is so good... oh yeah and the homemade soup. You have to wait for your food usually at least 15 minutes, but they cook it right there while you wait! The couple running the place is sweet as pie. This is my favorite place for lunch in Monticello, usually costs around $10 p.p

For starters, don't be like me and walk out forgetting to pay. This friendly little gem doesn't have you pay until you're ready to leave. On our drive up to Rochester we needed a bite for lunch. Hop onto Yelp and found Salt & Pepper. This self proclaimed mom & pop place was terrific. A mix between a deli, a luncheonette, and an Asian fusion take out, I don't know what to call it other than fantastic. My better half had the shrimp salad on a roll and thoroughly enjoyed it. I had the japchae with pork bulgogi. I've eaten my fair share of Korean food but have never tried japchae before. It was excellent. The vegetables were fresh and not over cooked. The noodles were a perfect balance to the pork bugogi's slight spiciness. A great dish that I would not hesitate to have again. If you're near Monticello and looking for something made with obvious care by a friendly mom and pop, Salt & Pepper is an excellent choice.

I was pleasantly surprised to find a place like Salt and Pepper in Monticello. Very good Korean food, I wish more people would try it than the American fair. Not to say that the American menu is not good. Not in least. I will definitely go back when I'm up that way again.

We really enjoyed our meal. 5 of us ordered a different Korean meal. Each was delicious, well prepared and thoroughly enjoyed. We give it a 4 despite the great food because the overall cleanliness was substandard. With more attention to the cleaning of the dining area, we'd happily rate this a 5.

This is my favorite place, been coming here for around 5 years! EVERYTHING on the menu is great and will leave you wanting more. It's a cute, VERY clean, family run, "hole in the wall". My favorite dish are the Bulgogi platter and the Jabche noodles.

Great little find! From Korean BBQ to the House Special Sandwich your not gonna know what to order and are not going to leave hungry. Owners are very friendly too.

Very friendly staff. Explained the Korean food options well. Great food. Tables could do with a thorough wipe down, otherwise very good. We would happily return and recommend this place for an informal meal.

Recommend the japchae and bulgogi. Very tasty, a nice escape from road food if you're on your way to/from finger lakes. Great family owned business. Street parking in front. They are now open until 8p for dinner. Closed Sat & Sunday.

My husband and I were glad to have found this quaint establisment on our trip to the Catskills. The bulgogi sandwich was amazing. The beef was perfectly marinated and served on a toasted hero. Very savory and satisfying!

I had no idea this place even existed until this week. This is a small place on Broadway, blink and you'll miss it. I came for lunch and ordered the Teriyaki Chicken with fried rice. This is the type of place where everybody knows your name, the staff were friendly and patient. The food was delicious. The chicken was tender and perfectly seasoned. The rice was full of fresh veggies and not greasy as expected of fried rice. The portions were huge. Easily this was 2 meals. The menu is an eclectic mix of Korean and American. I can't wait to try the Bulgogi platter and the House Special I saw on the menu. If you're near Monticello, you must try this place

Love this place~ Broadway is depressing, but this spot in the middle near the Bagel Bakery is hopping!!!!!!!!! First of all, the couple is too cute-so sweet, nice, and if you say you don't know Korean food, he will tell you what's good! Had the best homemade pumpkin soup there in the winter time. I am obsessed with the Udong noodle plate and my friend goes there at least 2x/week for their sandwiches (yes they do serve other things besides Korean dishes). Authentic Korean! Thank god, not another Chinese place in Sull Co.

Went to Salt and Pepper again today, 10/09/14 for dinner. We shared two plates of vegetable fried rice with chicken teriyaki and another dish of Gagnam Style Curry chicken with potatoes and rice. Both the dishes were delicious and the portions were sufficient. I cannot over emphasize how good it is to be served good and healthy food by a charming and very courteous couple . They deserve recognition and support. We will be back sooooon.

This place is a pleasant surprise. Half regular small town deli and half exotic urban Korean restaurant. Family run by a friendly and hardworking couple, the Korean food is a taste sensation. Ask questions and you get friendly helpful answers. The owners seem to know all the locals who walk in and customizes their orders to taste. Even as a stranger just passing thru off Route 17 I could not have been treated better. If you want something other than the usual diner, try this place.

I was visiting Monticello NY for a music festival and found this little gem. Their Korean food and their American food are delicious. I'm Korean and live in NY so am used to very authentic Korean cuisine and this place has it. The couple that owns this place are so sweet as well. I would come back just to hang out with them.

Salt and pepper a little hole in the wall spot in Monticello has some of the best Korean BBQ I have ever had. Not only do they specialize in authentic Korean food but they also have American style food all cooked fresh and made to order I frequent this spot even though it is a long distance from my house!!!

Salt and Pepper is a lunch time staple in Monticello. If your lucky you can be in and out but sometimes you either wait for some deliciousness or just try to come back another time when the line isn't unbearable. Having only visited Salt and Pepper a few times, I have only tried one sandwich, the house special sandwich with turkey, bacon, avocado, lettuce and tomato; such a simple sandwich is packed with so much flavor. I hear that the other sandwiches are just as delicious and I can't wait to try the fired rice. All food is made fresh, you can literally watch them whip up your meal. The couple that runs the joint work like dogs to keep this place poppin! There are tables inside and out but you can always take your food to go. In my eyes the only downside to this place is that you reek of the food even after stopping by for a few minutes, however it is totally worth it! Keep business local support hard working families in the area.

Salt and Pepper is NOT Mexican. Besides standard deli sandwiches, they have great Korean and Japanese dishes for lunch. What a find in Monticello.
