This place is a local landmark, and to put it any other way would be to distort the truth. People are even willing to drive from several towns away to pick up orders from here. One might naturally wonder why a Chinese take-out has developed such a following. Simply put, Foo Luck does not serve up lower, generic-quality take-out food. Quite the contray, they serve superior, well made dishes with very generous portions. A girl I dated a number of years ago lived in Commack and we used to frequent this place weekly for what might be the best Roast-Pork Lo Mein on the Island. Be advised, of course, that I mention this only in comparison to other Chinese take-out restaurants, whose food is generally geared towards Americans. If we were to discuss traditional Chinese food, that would be a whole other discussion, as the food is entirely different, and superior. Just a note to those who have great interest in Chinese food; there is a rule: If you enter a Chinese eating establishment and it is filled with Chinese people, it is in your best interest to eat there. Thus, many of you will notice that you rarely, if ever, see Chinese people in take-out restaurants. However, none of this deters from the fact that Foo Luck offers terrific food; take-out Chinese food is altogether different from traditional Chinese food, and as such, Foo Luck serves up the former beautifully.

I just had the worst experience ever with Foo Luck. I have been going to this establishment for my entire life, and today I feel that I will never go back. My order was screwed up and delivered with missing food. I was billed for a soup I didn't order and then when I explained this to the delivery person he said that since he delivered the food (the wrong food) and I paid for it, that my correct food will cost me even more. I spent $9 on a lunch special that costs $6. Save the aggrivation and go accross the street to WIN ON CHINESE.

The most glorious Chinese take-out in all the (Is)land! I've probably had Foo Luck take-out over 100 times. I remember when Foo Luck had a fire five years ago. When I heard through a friend, we cried. Cried. But Foo Luck rose through the ashes, etc. Extraordinary portions for the price! Call the order well in advance, because the small store will be packed when you go for pick-up. Always confirm your order's accuracy and completeness (especially with the soups), because they occasionally screw up. Dining in for lunch isn't bad at off-times. It's nuts at night, though... beware! Mixed vegetables and kung pao dishes are superb. (Though why do all Chinese restaurants load up on the broccoli?) Not my cup of tea, but I hear the hot and sour soup and boneless spare rib are fantastic. The vegetable soup isn't worth it. The spring rolls are more on the bland side, but the egg roll is super tasty. Pro tip: it's all about the mixed vegetables in kung pao (and pick your vegetables, and get chicken or beef or tofu or whatever if you want).

Best hot and sour ever! Every bowl made from scratch. Plentiful fresh made to order portions. Great sushi at a much lower price than elsewhere. Hard to understand some of the negative reviews I've bee eating there and ordering take out for over 20 years. Foo luck is a commack legend. Go there (but if ordering take out on the weekend, be sure to give them ample time, like 45 minutes to an hour). And the boneless spare ribs..............ahhhhhhhhhh!

The service is great!!!! Very attentative to our needs. My husband always gets the Chicken chow mein or Kung Pao chicken and he loves it. I usually get the Sushi and never had a complaint..I love it. On the weekends its very busy. I would suggest this place to everyone.

"Tony and I (Jennifer) apologies for all the problems that many of the valued customers have had. We have been on hiatus from Commack for a while due to the New York sushi restaurant. The new a manager we had hired has claimed everything has been good but clearly that was a lie. Tony and I are settling back in Commack and trying to resolve all the problems. Thank you for your patience and we apologize again for everything."

Gross. Last time I ate here my generals tso chicken was all fat. The hot and sour soup was full of what looked and tasted like soggy paper towels and old meat ends. Not worth my time/money. There are definitely better Chinese places in Commack.

I got take out last night for my family and the general consensus was that the food was not great. We've had better at other local Chinese food places. The broth in the wonton soup was brown and not very appetizing and the chicken in the sweet and sour chicken was overcooked and chewy. The ability to order online was very helpful but the food was a disappointment.

Foo Luck was sold very quietly a month ago the new owners came in with a attitude and a stence of entitlement that the previous owner took so many years to earn. Walked out last night. While ordering a ROACh crawled off the waitress landing on our table on its back. She then picked it up and all of a sudden forgot how to speak the English language So sad that the always good Foo Luck is done.

My wife and I have frequented this take out place for over 20 years. They also have tables where you can sit. Their claim to fame is huge portions. They dont disappoint. The food is very tasty and you can get any meal weight wachers style or steamed (we sort of started that trend a while back lol). Their chicken lo mein weight watchers style is excellent. dumplings are great. wonton soup can be a tad salty and overly yellow. but at other times its great. so hard to say. All in all huge portions, cheap prices, decent food. decor is not great but if you sit in a take out place what can one expect. ps they also now offer sushi. they have their own small area for that. i dont have it but i hear its amazing

The food was as great as described, dinner was ruined by a roach crawling across floor by dinner table, daughter saw it and almost puked. Told manager and wanted to show him but he took no action and walked away.

Fair american style chinese food. Hot and Sour soup is different and really good. Not wild about some of the kids that work the counter. But when you do that volume, I guess you can lose the urge to aim to please. Since getting familiar with Flushing, hard to stomach any of these places.

If you live within 15 miles of Foo Luck and you order from any other Chinese restaurant I feel very bad for you. Also the best sushi for your buck.

Food is great but delivery service is terrible. On numerous occasions they told me a 40 minute delivery time and it has taken upwards of two hours. When I called to complain on numerous occasions I got no satisfaction and was told that they are busy and all they can do is give me 10% off my next order. If its going to take two hours just tell me and I'll pick it up. Will never order from there again because of the lousy customer service.

The food was above average as far as chinese take-out goes. Their huge portions are always a plus. The place is a mad house during peak hours so you're better off ordering by phone and picking up. The people working there were very nice which apparently is a lot to ask for in chinese food places in the area for some reason. Overall if you're hungry for chinese take-out then this is the best place in the area, hands down. But the quality of food is by no means life-changing as some people would have me believe. Don't go there with much-too-elevated expectations. Still, the food was pretty good. I'd go there again.

Please don't go here. Food is typical fast food Chinese take out. Nothing special.... Some dishes are worse than other places I've tried. Worst of all my recent take out had a roach in there! I called and all they were rude about it and so unpleasant to deal with. Disappointing and will never come back.

Have only had their food to go. I will forever compare my chinese food to the old MING'S of Baldwin, NY. That was the ultimate chinese experience. I'd give that place a 5 (even a 6 if I could) and in comparison this place is only a 3 Star, barely. No decor, be sure to order yours to go.

I really wanted to like it....but last night I had my second bad Foo Luck experience and I would be a fool to go back again. The food was plentiful, but so was the oil. About an inch coating the bottom of the plate. That"s a LOT of oil. My kids were repulsed and would not eat it, which I did not blame them. Service was TERRIBLE - almost non-existent. After sitting for over 10 minutes unable to catch the waitresses attention I ordered the food myself at the take-out counter - and kept going back for water, napkins, serving utensils, food from my order that never came out....

They should call this place Foo Suck. My wife and I ordered from here on three different occasions and the food has steadily declined. The first time the food was decent on par with what most yelpers were saying. The second time not so impressed the food was ok. This last meal we stopped in for some take out and when we got home our dishes looked as if they took the food off someone else plate and shoved into the take out container. My wife's chicken and broccoli pt. had rice scattered through out it. My dish pork with Chinese vegetables I would not serve to a dog. Sorry Foo Luck 3 strikes your out never again!

Foo Luck is an above-average Chinese restaurant that satisfies my Chinese food cravings. I grew up eating Chinese food in the Chinatown of major cities so I have a good enough idea of what and how real, States-side Chinese food tastes. Foo Luck has done a decent enough job that I haven't searched for another local, hole-in-the-wall Chinese restaurant. Their portions are on the larger side and can easily be shared by two people. Also, they don't charge extra for brown rice like other establishments and I appreciate that they're not trying to milk me for everything. If you're taking out, I recommend you call ahead to place your order. Especially during the weekend because this place gets very busy.

Never coming back here. Almost choked and died on two sharp hard pieces of bone left in my sesame chicken. Not the first time I've found a small hard piece of something in my food, but this last one was large and sharp. Could have really hurt me. I've been unhappy with the food here for a while. The general Tsos is usually dry and very cheap on sauce, broccoli isn't cooked fully, and now this bone shard. I'm done. Foo Suck.

This place use to be good they use to make there own dumpings. Got food from there tonight. Typical frozen dumpings like every other crap chinese food take out. They use to be good. If you want real chinese food go to the Red Tiger Dumpling house. Its a hike in Stonybrook but worth the drive better than this eh!!! No flavor. So disapointing and disrespectful to a cuisine and culture whos food is amazing.

I'm not sure what is going on at this place. Perhaps its changed ownership or management but in the last 6-9 months it has been going downhill. We used to get takeout at least once a month and in the spring after a few medicore meals we decided to take a break. We tried it again for takeout a few nights ago and it was all around disappointing. Upon getting home with the $45 takeout order I realize I am missing white rice. So I have three dinners and no white rice. I called and since they deliver and I am local, I asked if they could drop off the white rice. The person on the phone spoke to the manager and said it would be at least 45 minutes. So I'm supposed to wait 45 minutes to eat ? Really ? So I drive to Foo Luck figuring when I pick up the rice the manager will at least give me a free egg roll or something for having to come back. Nope, nothing, not a thing. Barely even a sorry. Wonton and Egg drop soup were good as always. Whitemeat sesame chicken ordered without spicy peppers had spicy peppers in it. It was almost inedible because the sauce had so much grease in it. Egg Foo Young was OK but had almost no gravy on it.. Chicken and broccoli was so greasy that it had to be drained of the grease before eating it. Boneless spareribs which are usually very good , were very fatty much got thrown out. We wont be going back, we will try one of the other Chinese places in the area.

The take-out here is amazing, get the boneless ribs they are so delicious. The fried rice is very good also. Great service, food is great and price is good.

Good, standard Chinese take out. It's fine. We always get the tofu and broccoli and the curry chicken. They are amenable to alterations and the food is cooked right in front of you and quickly. We keep going back!

I`ve been eating here for years and never really had a problem until now. I was about to take the last bite of Vegatable Lo Mein and looked a little closer thinking, "What vegatable is that??". It was a ROACH!! I`m so disgusted I will never eat here again.
