Really good pizza. The pizzas are huge, the crust is puffy, and the overall pizza experience is really top notch. and of course, for the price- it's a great deal. For just slightly more than Domino's I can have a real pizza. so I will definitely be coming back. when the broker I was working with showed me my current apartment, he said this pizza place was the best in Astoria. I of course, called his bluff, because who wouldn't try to upsell an apartment by raving about the pizza place down the street. but then I heard it again when I asked a community of Astorians, or people on the street- and they all said it was good. So I'm joining the mob and telling you its worth checking out. I deducted a star because although delcious, it was a little greasy. as in greasier than you would really expect. but nothing that a Bounty can't fix.

I saw their "gluten-free" sign in their window and thought I would give it a try. Wow - I can't believe I had been missing out on pizza before trying theirs. It is so good! I have tried their regular cheese/tomato sauce and thats great. Then to make it even better I tried it with ricotta cheese added - that is soo good. And then..to make it even better, the next time I tried it with mushrooms and thats amazing! Today I told the owner that their gluten-free pizza is the best in Astoria. I have tried others in Astoria and I'll admit, they are a little cheaper but nothing can compare to the taste of Pizza Palace - so I don't mind spending an extra couple of dollars for a better tasting pie. My roommate says their regular pizza is really good too so I am sure it is! The owner is super nice too. I love that they even have their own gluten-free pizza cutter, etc. - makes me never worry! If you are gluten-free, you should def try this place.

Just got a delivery and the whole thing went into the trash. Here's why: 1. Sauteed spinach: arrived cold and drenched in liquid. All easily remedied but the flavor was inexplicably horrible. Especially bummed because I was totally craving vegetables. 2. Mozzarella cheese: the poorest possible quality - it tastes like plastic. 3. Eggplant Parmigiana: Inedible. Really. They clearly never bother to taste their own food. Yes, the portions are generous but the quality is miserly. UGH! Disappointed? Absolutely. Lesson learned? Most definitely.

This place is so legit and the owner is a really great guy! Absolutely everything is completely hand made and it's cheap too! Definitely going out of my way to get back to this place next time I'm in NY!

Great delivery option. I'm so happy I found them because I love pizza and have had surprisingly little luck finding decent options in Astoria. They have an awesome family meal deal where you get a large cheese pie, wings and a 2L coke for around $22. The guy on the phone sounds like a pizza nazi but I kind of enjoyed that, he was very efficient, professional and accommodating when it came to customizing my order. The ingredients taste fresh and are sprinkled liberally. I will be ordering from here again, and in larger quantities next time I have people over.

Fast, friendly service... whether I'm stopping by or having them bring to my door. Delicious food... I love the lasagna and the buffalo chicken pizza!

Well I wouldn't recommend this place, especially not for slices. They really do look like the photos and don't seem very fresh. I didn't try ordering anything off the menu and would consider that in the future just because I live so close. Disappointed

I ordered from here before, on a Tuesday night, and got the stuffed meat pizza. $26 & It was freaking amazing. Jam packed with meat. Been dying to order from here again, and talked about how great it was to others, so we decided to order the stuffed meat and a large regular pie. Saturday night. When it arrived, my mouth was salivating. Alas, when I took a bite of the stuffed meat i treated burnt and soggy dough on the bottom of the pie. I took another bite and thought.... where's all the meat? The inside of the pie had a very thin layer of meat that would have been sufficient for a regular pie with toppings, but for a "stuffed" pie, it was extremely lacking :/ As for the regular pie, the dough was under cooked, and the cheese wasn't cheesy... as in when you take a bite of a cheese pizza the cheese is so fresh and good that it stretches out. But this pizza, the cheese came of the dough in clumps. So when you take a bite and you pull away, it's just under cooked dough with sauce left on top. I actually had a better slice of cheese pizza for $1 in Manhattan. So... would I order from here again? Possibly. Only because I was thinking maybe they were backed up cuz it's a Saturday night? Maybe they were training someone new in anticipation of the busy summer. Maybe they had a different cook. Yes, I realize I'm making excuses for them, because as a source of business you should try to make sure that all of your products are consistent, and good everyday with every order. Considering how great my first experience ordering here was, I will try again because their specialty chicken penne Alfredo looked pretty good. A part of me thinks that it is probably going to be dry, lack flavor and lack Alfredo..... but, that's mainly cuz of my bad 2nd experience. So this 3rd try will be the one to judge. "Do or die".

I do laundry next door and never have I bought pizza from this place. The people who work here just seem rude and obnoxious! Why would anyone want to spend their money when you have people like that running the place. This is why I get pizza from this place on 28th ave (Pronto).

This was pretty good pizza. I ordered delivery from here and they came on time and the pizza was great for a group of 10 people. We had the baked ziti, vegetarian and grandma pies. All were very tasty, but I especially liked the baked ziti. We also ordered a caesar and greek salad along with garlic knots. It was a good meal and they offered a discount online. I would recommend ordering pizza again.

After moving away from Massapequa on Long Island, I didn't think I'd find a new pizza place so quickly, but I did. They've got a great pie here, and I look forward to trying their various other creations. Will update once I've sampled more of the menu. The best part of my 1st experience here, was I was right on time to pick up my pie, but the guy working the oven was dissatisfied with how it came out. It wasn't burnt, he just didn't like the shape. He assured me there was another pie on its way out of the oven, I waited a few minutes longer, appreciating his need for perfection, and then I was out the door with a new pizza.

This pizza joint is literally halfway down the block from where we live so it is uber convenient. I see people in the neighborhood grabbing fare by the slice and pie alike. One of my neighbors even testified that it is some of the best pizza in Astoria. Having grown up in other parts of New York and having tried pizza everywhere from Brooklyn to the Bronx, I have a hard time trusting the opinion of anyone who hasn't ventured outside of Queens for the New York staple. So I decided to order a pie, since a large was only $11 + tax. The guy at the counter was rude and seemed bothered by my interrupting his conversation with a co worker. Considering how empty the place usually is you would think a customer would be welcome. The pie was ready on time but I was more than disappointed to find a soggy, almost tepid pizza that lacked both love and flavor. The crust was soft (I prefer crispy) and too doughy. The sauce was bland and sub par. I would rather travel out of my way and spend a little more cash to experience a long time favorite that at least seems as if a little effort went into making it. The extra star is for it's affordable pricing.

this place has the best gluten-free pizza i've ever had! decently priced, and really nice delivery people! I rarely order food... in fact, the only times I do, it's from Ani Pizza Palace : )

I'm not a biggie when it comes to pizzas since I am lactose intolerant. I ordered the spaghetti with meatballs and said no cheese in case they usually add cheese to their pastas. Over all the many years I have lived in New York, this is the only restaurant that got the pasta right. Amazing. They have restored my faith in humanity, that there is indeed someone who can make GOOD PASTA. Will definitely buy from them again. Kudos!

Great neighborhood pizza place. I love the variety that they offer on their menu. You can get pasta, sandwiches, pizza, whatever! Every time I go in- no matter what day- I always see the same guy (who I think is the owner). He is incredibly nice and will remember you. You can tell he puts a lot of pride into his work. Their pizza is great. Cheesy with a fresh, crispy crust and flavorful sauce (but not too much of it). Everything you want in a pizza. It's my favorite place in the area!

I'm very disappointed in the Yelp community for steering me wrong with this place. This place is a joke. Everyone is entitled to their opinion... and her's mind, I'm never going here again. Went here because I had money on a Restaurant.com Gift card and regret it. The owner was screaming at the top of his lungs at his family when we walked in and it was all down hill from there. We ordered a few slice and calzones and got such an attitude when we showed our restaurant.com gift card. The regular slice was kinda nasty, the Calzones were less than average. But that could be based on the fact that it was a 90 degree day and the place doesn't have air conditioning.. the summer heat will do strange things to cheese when left out.

Unfortunately, i ordered fried calamari and a cheese burger from a pizza parlor. NEVER shall i make the same mistake again. I ordered through seamless coz i just wasn't in the mood to leave the apartment. the food came in around 45 minutes, as soon as i opened the box, i was impressed by how huge the portions were! however, immediately turned off by how bland the calamari was. even when dipped in the marinara sauce, it was still horrible. as for the cheese burger? let's just say, i didn't know how long the burger was sitting coz the bread was super soggy when i picked it up. MIGHT consider trying their pizza since there are good reviews on it, but never ordering the burger or calamari ever again!

Five stars for the effort and service. I ordered off GrubHub at about 930 at night in the middle of the first snow storm of the season because I didn't want to check out. It was the only pizza joint in the neighborhood that has a Sicilian option and I was feeling it one so I went for it. Here are the perks, the pie was exactly what I was craving, not too heavy, but will easily hold one person over for 3 or 4 meals. 8 big slices (i got pepperoni and green peppers) crust was right, heavy on toppings, and the cheese and sauce all fit perfectly together. One of the better pies I've had in NYC. But on top of that, the pie arrived 15min ahead of the scheduled estimated time GrubHub gave me, and in the bad weather (give it was only half a mile from the apartment, but still- that's a ways in the City). Cost was relevant, and over all I am extremely satisfied. Will definitely be ordering from here again.

So good , Pizza Cooked to perfection, by owner wonderful man very friendly you can taste that he loves what he is doing. Chicken Francesca Pizza would have to be my favorite. The pasta dishes are all homemade from the spaghetti meatsause to the Philly cheese steak. wonderful and cooked to order. Try this place out, and you will not be disappointed. Oh by the way his prices a very reasonable, and there are always daily specials.

First time I ordered from here, Most of the pizza places in the area has either closed or has started serving horrible food and thank to yelp I found my new pizza joint! I ordered the family special #1 wings are huge and tasty ( needs more kick) but very good. The pizza...OMG! Great sauce...awesome crust! Nom Nom Nom!

Ok, it's my fault... I ordered pasta dishes from a Pizza shop. That was a horrid meal, pasta with pizza sauce, chili flakes and calamari served over spaghetti does not make calamari diavolo. There was so little of this sauce that it didn't even stain the over cooked pasta. The pink slime balls in same pizza sauce (no chili flakes though). Toasted Stale bread. Luckily they forgot so send the salad. All tossed out in the garbage. So why 2 stars, it's a 1* for this meal. They were very nice to deal with, the food looked good, I'm sure they do a great pizza and It's not fair for me to hammer their rating because I ordered the wrong thing from this place. They didn't ask me to call them back to tell them what I thought.... Maybe they knew what was coming. My advice to the staff and owner, try the food yourself every now and again, if you can't eat it yourself don't put it on your menu. Always end on a positive: The bottle of Coke was very cold!

I made the mistake of ordering a margherita pizza -- something that can't be easily screwed up, right? WOOF. It was like nothing I've ever experienced. It was so bad... so odd looking... I had to post pics of it on Facebook (29 comments later, most of them -- WHAT THE HELL IS THAT??) The pizza looked like salsa had been mixed with ketchup and then slabs of white balogne were laid on top. No basil to be found whatsoever. I don't know what part of Italy this was supposed to be from, but it was DISGUSTING. To add insult to injury, it was cold. How the hell do you screw up pizza in NEW YORK CITY?? Needless to say, they have love my business. Bye-bye, Ani.

Good. Not great. Garlic knots were delicious. Pizza wasn't bad, just wasn't great. Overall, way better than Dominos.

The pizza is great. Buffalo Chicken pizza is the best! The owner is an immigrant that loves to watch Fox news, and is a serious outspoken Republican. Only in America. Anyway, the only gripe I have is the $2.50 per topping. At $2.50 you can buy alot of mushrooms. Nevertheless, great pizza. Fortunately, politics aside, I will order from them again. See both sides of the aisle. At least he is not Herman Cain.

Great prices, and always on time if not earlier then what they tell you. And there's always some sort of coupons when ordering online. Penne vodka pizza, and the chicken penne vodka sandwich are my favorites from anis.

Not bad pizza. The personal, which is more than enough for 1 person, is only $6. I am happy with the quality and the ingredients. In terms of local pizza, Ani is the only place I give repeat business to. The delivery guy is always really friendly, so that's a plus, too. He accidentally tripped up my stairs, and I felt bad, but he cared more about if my personal pizza was messed up or not. That's dedication.

I haven't reviewed a place in months, and the service here alone made me do it. I was searching for a place online, came across here* and decided to place an order for lunch from my office, the day after the first blizzard** that really hit the city. Whoever answered the phone was extremely up-front about the delivery time (it's far from my office + snow) which I appreciated, and even requested that I call back about the quality of the pizza***. Our order eventually arrived, and although there was a slight issue with our order (weird things happen in the snow) they were quick to fix it, and in the end yummy pizza was eaten and bellies were filled. The quality of the food itself I felt was very high. It's not very hard to make a pepperoni pizza, but it is pretty hard to make a very good one. When getting Italian at work, I definitely plan on ordering solely from Ani Pizza. * eww, not like that. ** you pansies. *** I want people to want my business. You hear that, Other Businesses? THIS is how you get my money.

Called this place by accident on Monday night (for Monday night football of course) for a large pie of pepperoni and mushrooms. Greg (who turned out to be the owner) said it was 13 + 3.5 per topping but threw one in for free and asked that I call after I tried it. I got done w/ 3 bites before I had him on the line telling him I'm glad he's in my neighborhood! It's def a classic NY slice. My only minor complaint was it's a little too bread heavy. I prefer a little less dough. I did like how there was lots of cheese. Maybe a little less dough + a little more sauce would've been real good. It's better than Dino's, Sac's and Rizzo's!!!

Chicken Alfredo slice!!!!!!!! Hands Down one of the best slices I've ever had in all of NYC.

Oh pizza with buffalo chicken! You're so good that you're finger lickin! Even though you're not cheap You're so worth it to eat And my pace to the bathroom you quicken! Just the right mix of cheese and spice Eating you is oh so nice You cost a small fortune So that's my only caution To those eating at Ani's tonight But definitely pick up your phone One taste of this will cause you to moan It's worth every dime So don't waste your time Because Ani's pizza is teh pwn!

I highly recommend the chicken alfredo pizza, it is the best thing they have. I have been coming to this pizzeria since I was 8 .. they changed owners many times but the current owner is really nice and his food is always fresh. Some of his stuff is a bit pricey but you wont be dissapointed.

This is a SOLID three stars. If I could give 3.5, I definitely would. For the area, it deserves four stars. It's one of the most solid delivery joints in Astoria. The owner really knows how to run a business. He's personable, friendly, and even requested we call back after our meal to let him know how we enjoyed it. I highly recommend this pizza joint. (And, to think, I only found this place because someone left an inexplicably bad review of this place. Thanks for finding Ani Pizza for me!) The pizza is highly affordable. $12 gets you a large and for just $1 more you can get an extra large that's probably 20 inches in diameter. The toppings are $2.50 each, but they are real generous with them. Definitely worth it. A two topping extra-large pizza for $18? That's better than Papa Johns and just about any other pizza joint you find in Astoria. The pizza is a pretty standard New York style pie. Thin crust, doughy inside. Thick, oozey cheese. The only problem is that the cheese sort of dominates the pizza and can get a little too solid after it cools down a bit. UPDATE Had a bunch of pizza left over because the Extra Large was so big and I realized something about Ani Pizza. It tastes GREAT cold. It's a solid slice when piping hot. Get's a little bleh when it cools to being just warm. But, once you get to cold pizza stage, it's back to business. Such a pleasant surprise.

Best pizza I have had since moving to NY. Ani's always hits the spot with the pizzas thin, crispy crust and fresh toppings. Their menu is pretty extensive including hot subs, cold cuts, and pastas but I always end up craving a slice instead of testing out other items. The manager is also always friendly and personable. And the chicken, roasted pepper, onion slice is AMAZING! If you're around the area, you should definitely try out Ani's. You won't be disappointed! edit: I got around to trying their hot subs (meatball and chicken parm) and I just have to share.... After coming out of the oven, the bread is simply ah-may-zing! Fresh and tasty with just the right amount of crunch. Try it out if you're not in the mood for pizza but happen to run across Ani's... I promise you won't be disappointed!

Pretty solid pizza if you're just looking for take out pizza. Haven't eaten in but got delivery a few times and the regular pizza is pretty good. Got the white pie and it was just ok. I like my white pie w/ more ricotta. Maybe it was the heat but it was super soggy and the cheese just slid right off of the crust. They won't honor the 20% off yelp coupon for orders for $30 or more so fyi. Call if you wonna order - don't use their online ordering. They never got my order.

Conveniently located less than a block from my apartment. I always order from here when I have parties. Affordable prices. $13 for a large pie and they also offer other great specials throughout the week. The pizza is more doughy than I'm used to, but that's not a bad thing. The sauce is very sweet and good quality. They always give you paper plates and napkins and they'll also provide condiments if you ask. I never had a bad experience with service or food. Very friendly and helpful!

Great pizza! Nice people. The pasta dishes are generally pretty good too, in particular the manicotti. The only complaint I have is the delivery isn't the fastest, but hey, the pizza is good enough for the wait, especially considering some of the other pizza around here!

So far, the best slice of pizza I've found in Astoria. I look forward to trying their other food.

Ani's Pizza is a treasure. So happy to be living within walking distance of it! The food is amazing, but the pizza.... oh my goodness! Can you say Heavenly?! The dough, the sauce, the cheese.. all combined to make the perfect pizza pie. Highly Recommended!
