Standard, respectable diner fare with good service. Stick with basics - it's a diner - and you won't be disappointed. Sandwiches and soups are good; salads are ok. No one expressed disappointment in their meal, and I was with a vocal and mixed dietary requirements group of folks. A solid performer if you're in the area, and better than a lot of the potential alternatives.

It's a diner. Haha, I was going to end my review there but it's seriously just a standard diner. But the plus side is that the place is huge, they just expanded, and the service is fast.

Who hasn't been to the "nauseous" lat night? Black and White Shake.. delicious.. Grilled Cheese with Bacon with fries.. off da hook.. specially late night.. hmmmm its a diner.. order something simple 'cause the complicated stuff won't taste good.. ;-)

Great ham steak breakfast and i love it when the waiter dips his penis in my soup...seriously good diner and dont forget to get a free cookie from the sometimes rude cashier lady!

I came here by myself for dinner and think the staff was confused by a single girl eating dinner alone. Food wad average, maybe a little overpriced for what they're serving.

Being that it was the closest diner near us we decided to give it a try.... the first time was OK but the second time, GROSS!!!!! there were too many mysteries in our food. We found a half bitten onion ring, too many hairs in our burgers, and the service was ridiculous. The guy didn't even know we existed! Never going back there again

  • Mike P.

The menu is huge! There are so many choices and a lot of the food is pretty good. When ordering, keep in mind that you're at a diner, meaning don't expect a great meal out of the fancier dished they offer. Simple things are pretty good, like most diners. The pricing was a tad high, but not extortion by any means and the place could've been cleaner, but hey, its just a diner. Anyway, stop by here if you want a quick lunch or dinner.

This place has THE WORST SERVICE I've ever experienced, if I could give it no stars I would. I never received my order so I can't comment on the food. Sat there for an hour waiting for our food to arrive. As 60 minutes passed, I waved over one of the waiters, he gave me an obnoxious wave back, laughed and never came over to check on what I might want to talk to him about ... so we walked out, hungry and annoyed. I WILL NEVER ATTEMPT TO EAT AT THIS PLACE AGAIN. You should not waste your time because you will just go hungry and NEVER GET YOUR FOOD.

The staff is awesome. Food is above average diner fare. My parents go there a few times a week and they love it. Great soups, try the Matzo ball soup. The owner bakes the deserts right there and all of it is good. I recommend whole heartedly.

Same old diner, food was greasy service was average. In today's world you have to do better then average to stay ahead!

I have eaten at Nautilus quite a few times as have most people in the area, as it is one of the more popular places in this area of Westchester. I know some people who eat there every day, particularly for breakfast. It is typical diner fare, but with an even larger menu than your average diner and with Juke boxes on some tables. Most things that I have ordered have been extremely good. One of the primary reasons it is so busy is because most of the other restaurants in this area are so so pricey, even some of the other diners on the Boston Post Rd. are on average 1 1/2 times the menu prices of this place. The service has been good and it is quite clean and modern.

after a long ride back from Lake George, we dropped off my friend in Mamaroneck and then stopped by here for a quick meal. we weren't too hungry, but every road trip requires at least one diner stop, no? I had a big bowl of matzoh ball soup. standard, predictable, and exactly what I needed at the time. and they didn't skimp with the crackers. Caroline had a turkey sandwich - I had a few bites, and it was okay. prices are standard diner prices. Sunday night and it was actually pretty busy, but service was good. cool touch: they have free cookies by the register in addition to toothpicks and mints!

This is prob the best diner in the area (from my experience of new rochelle to portchester). Crazy portions but really worth the price. Good cocktails. Staff that have been there for decades and remember you. Huge menu for several diets.

Nice menu, good service. We had our cousins reunion here and they didn't rush us at all! food was fresh and good and the waiter did an amazing job of getting all 12 order exactly correct!!! no easy task with this group! actually went back the next night to meet some other family members. Thanks for the good service and great experience!

Great diner, perfect for a quick bite. Typical huge diner menu (is there anything NOT on the menu?) the food is decent, perfect cure for a hangover and serving breakfast all day. Very good service and incredibly accommodating with our 9 month old. Beware if you have to wait you'll stand right in front of the desserts--it's a bakery case of cakes, pies, and cookies. Tough to stare at when you're hungry! Even on busy days (New Years day) we waited less than 10 minutes. And the hosts are very friendly.

    (4)
  • Alexandra S.

Definitely a good dinner. The selection is huge and the food pretty good. The servings are almost enough for 2 full meals so either share or you'll have leftovers. They do not give free refills on soda and don't let you know so I was charged $4 for 2 small glasses of coke. Not very cool. Service wasn't super speedy.

I've been coming here for years and have never left disappointed. The matzah ball soup and turkey burger are my personal favorites. It's diner food, so I would never order anything too fancy here- although I have seen people order shrimp linguine and enjoy it. Although the diner is 24 hours, not all food is available after hours. I went at 2.00am and was told that they did not have any soup prepared, so that was pretty sad. But for normal dining hours there is nothing better. Be careful going on the weekend, even though the diner is newly renovated it can still get pretty crowded brunchtime.

Yum, can't wait to go again! I ordered the eggplant parm and my boyfriend ordered the moussaka. The portions were huge and the food was delicious. Everything tasted fresh! I loved the plate of fresh veggies and warm bread. Prices are decent for the portions. I definitely would go again. Service was great too.

My wife and I went there for breakfast. Service was bad, the waiter barely spoke English, or even spoke more than 2 words to us. Food was even worse. How do you screw up a burger so bad? Anyway, I am not going back, even McDs across the street has better food!

My goodness I've been coming here since I was born! I've been coming here when this place was called the Unicorn back in the day! The Nautilus Diner is your typical 24 hour diner with a very extensive menu. I've had entrees here but really only come for bloody rare burgers which are fabulously made to order and thick chocolate milkshakes which I need to eat with a spoon - loves it!!! Nautilus is by far the better diner in Mamaroneck I'll go as far as saying Westchester at this point. Wouldn't give it 5 stars as it really is just a basic giant diner but if you're up at some ridiculous hour and craving burgers and milkshake definitely come here! If you just want to hit a good diner anytime of day definitely visit the Nautilus. I will say the missing star goes to the highly annoying placemats! As a designer it has boggled my mind for an eternity that their placemats are riddled with misspellings including the printing company's name argh!!! I know these mats are only paper and disposable but c'mon man you're driving me nuts!

We came here for brunch after a wedding and it was great. We were the only crowd of people under 40 in the middle of the day on a Monday, but it was okay. The reason we came here was because someone randomly remembered that this place has amazing Thai chili chicken wings. Seriously, if you come here, order them. You can thank me later. I had a grilled chicken caprese sandwich which was pretty decent. The fries were nice and crispy which was a bonus. The coffee was delicious and had unlimited refills. For 8 people splitting three orders of wings plus everyone ordering entrees and coffee, the bill was only about $175 including tip, which I consider a steal.

This 24 hour Diner offers a wide variety of food. Eggs, Burgers, sandwiches and dinner specials. Ssandwiches and burgers always come with a pickle and coleslaw. dinners come with soup or salad, bread and a vegetable crudite. In the 14 years that I have gone to the Nautilus diner, service has always been prompt and courteous. When I was served a stale pastry, I complained and I was given a fresh one! There is always a lot of food of mediocre quality. Nothing is ever quite perfect : tough grilled eggplant on a sandwich, salty matzah ball soup or stale cake ,but the hearty , "stick to your ribs " offerings taste great if you are hungry and tired.

The Nautilus is one of my favorite diners to go to. It may be a little out of the way for me, but they have an extensive menu and the food is better than other diners I've been to. The decor and layout is typical of a diner - light(er) color scheme, a large counter area with seating, and multiple dining rooms with booths and tables. In terms of food, most things I've had are pretty well done. You can't go wrong with breakfast, and their sandwiches and salads are also pretty good. Service is okay - I have no complaints about the wait staff, they're attentive and friendly. My only real (arguably selfish) gripe is with those working the front of the house. I've been going to this diner regularly for a number of years, and the same people have been working the front of the house the whole time. I'm sure they recognize me, but not once has any of them greeted or acknowledged me like I was a regular - it's the same cold (or lack of) greeting every time. I'm not looking for special treatment, but I'm one of your regulars - it would be nice to be greeted like one. It's not a deal breaker for me, but it is a turn-off. Overall, they serve good diner food which will keep me coming back.

Decent food...always play it safe & order burger deluxe, w/ waffle fries. I don't know why anyone would order lobster anything from any dinner, & if you do your just gluton 4 punishment.

Love The Nautilous. An establishment for the area. Great diner food, a great staff, and spacious seating. The french fries are out of this world good. Love the club sandwich, far better than other diners. Turkey burgers are awesome. Never disappointed with my experience and I've been coming here since they opened their doors.

I really enjoy this diner. The breakfast is pretty good. It's your typical diner breakfast, but the potatoes taste great (they add bell peppers). The iced coffee is extremely good! The staff is very nice. The blonde lady at the front desk was very nice to me and just gave the place a really nice vibe when you walk in. The blueberry muffin I had was sort of tough and very sweet and cakey, nothing like a muffin should be. Te lunch and dinner selection is plentiful, with really great staff.

A typical diner, if you order the classics you won't be disappointed. The staff is quite friendly and they're open late!

This is my favorite diner in the Westchester area and I travel down the Hutch to eat here than eat at my local diner (in Port Chester). The menu is large, as a diner should have. The staff is very friendly and honest. I often get the burger deluxe (burger+ fries, coleslaw, and 2 onion rings), but also get wraps, breakfast items, or omelets. If you need something changed, they will take it back right away, no questions asked. The food is delicious and the service is fast. It's open 24 hrs and there is ample parking. Highly recommended.

Our dining experience was lackluster at best. I went to the Nautilus Diner with my friend and my son. While my son didn't have much to say in the way of negativity, I did. I asked for my burger medium well, and got medium. The price of my friend's waffle fries is way too high and I was charged extra for lettuce and tomatoes. The service here is "okay" at best, and I should have known something was not right when their menu stated they will give only one refill on beverages. When I went to pay, I was not even asked how my dining experience was. I will definitely not be coming back.

This is one of my favorite diners in the new Rochelle/larchmont area. Forget getting your wings at bdubs, you got to try the wings here! They're delicious! They're open 24 hours a day and have a huge menu! I tend to lean towards breakfast food when I go to a diner but these guys make a mean eggplant parm. Be warned, portion sizes are huge so if you're not terribly hungry, don't order that appetizer! They have OK wines for a diner. Nothing special. I'm glad that I can get a crown and soda here though.

I used to grab food here with friends a few years back, but over time the place has become increasingly underwhelming. The last time I ate here was with my girlfriend. I say it was the last time because it was definitely the last time either of us plan on going here again. Our waitress was old and confused (not mean, just confused). She looked puzzled each time we spoke, brought me a rather disgusting side dish of potato salad that I did not order (it looked old), and did not come to check on us once the food was on the table. Not a terrible place or anything, just not my kind of place.

Just ok. Not impressed with westchester diners compared to Queens. Several diners within 15 miles better than this one, including Mamaroneck Diner, and especially The Plaza in Greenwich which is a proper Greek Diner, Queens style.

I think I found my diner. My hubby loves diners but I've never been a fan. Seems so pedestrian to go out for diner food. He always raved about Thruway Diner, which was and will be again soon in New Roc. I heard a rumor that this place was owned by the same folks. I don't know if it's true, but I thought the food was excellent and it deserves all the raving and ranting (when it closed) from the hubby. Service was sufficient but was spotty. We asked for an additional setting and the request seemed to get passed around between the waiter and staff. Great pancakes, solid omelets, solid burger and fries. Great portions.

  • La H.

It's a diner. With an extended menu so that all of my glutarded and non-meat eating friends can enjoy. They are open 24 hours so you can always eat. What more can I say. It's a diner.

Great place. Wonderful food, all reasonably priced. The cheesecake is wonderful. Just a great family place, and a great place to take a date for a simple, but enjoyable expereince.

The decor of this establishment reminds me of places in cape code. It has that coastal feeling while on the boader of Larchmont and Mamaroneck NY. The menu has plenty of items ranging from breakfast to Dinner and they are open 24 hours a day. Try the Avocado omelette, the egg white turkey and spinach wrap and a must the crab cake poached egg special. A really nice diner to start your day off.

I have been eating at the Nautilus for several decades now. It's not haute cuisine, but everything you're looking for in a good full-service diner. The menu is filled with well-priced choices, large and small. I often order the grilled chicken kebab platter and always have a meal's worth to take home. When you want lunch at 10:30 in the morning, dinner at 10:30 in the evening, or breakfast any time, the Nautilus is there. I check in every few weeks.

Well located, easy to find and to park. We went there last Saturday evening, table of 9. The waiter made it easy for us, knowing that the Dinner was almost empty. I should have known better. My Cheeseburger with jalapenos was kind of strange: Excellent meat quality, nice taste, would have been so much better if it was not cold. French fries were just OK. My friends who ordered Eggs Benedict hated them and did not even eat half of it. The overall feedback was that the cook must have been on vacation. No taste in general, deceptive experience for the entire table. Positives: Service was not bad, price was cheap. Not planning to go back soon though.

One of the better diners around the area. Food is good, plenty of variety. Staff is very friendly and very attentive.

    (4)
  • Mike G.

I live in the area go here all the time. You can't go wrong with standard breakfast and lunch items. Old school pickles and cole slaw with your burger as well as the olive, radish, celery carrot plate with dinner if you ask for it. Try the wraps. Full bar for your 2am nightcap. You don't realize how good this place is until you go to a diner in some other part of the country... The place is packed on weekends at brunch but they do a great job of getting people in. It's worth the wait.

My boyfriend and I together have visited The Nautilus twice- once in the spring of '13, and then again in the fall. The first time we visited I was very pleased with the experience, but the last time we visited for lunch there had been changes to the menu that ensured we wouldn't be back. The waitress we had was an older woman who was nice, but "confused" was the agreed upon word to describe her. We ordered an appetizer of Mozzarella sticks which were unremarkable, but presented in a strange circle around a a random helping of shredded lettuce in the center. Our lunches were distinctly awful, however- I had a quesadilla that was easily one of the most bland and boring quesadillas I've ever eaten ( Seriously? How do you mess up a Quesadilla?). My boyfriend got a club sandwich that was overall tasteless and served with an icecream-scooper-glob of particularly gelatinous potato salad (which he did not ask for). It was an overall terrible dining experience that we thankfully didn't let bring down a great day. We definitely will not be back.

There are a few times when I say I can really enjoy your meal this is not one of those times and nautilus use to be one of our favorite spot to get something to eat but lately the food has gotten progressively worse and the service is going right along with it

    (1)
  • Suzee Q.

Well, I'd say the best thing about this place is that it's open 24 hours. So if you can't find any other place that is open, this one is... We got plain French Toast, French Toast Monte Cristo, and the Crab Cake Sandwich with fries. The fries were the favored item. Service was okay. We were seated quickly, the waiter was ok, food came quickly. Just wish it were better tasting.

  • Tracy T.

Gotta say, this diner is the closest thing (that's in Westchester) that compares to a NYC diner.

    (4)
  • Diana T.

I've only been there once and we ordered breakfast items but the food went above what I would expect for a diner. First off we were seated right away which was impotant since our first choice for brunch was closed and IHOP had a hugeee wait. The service was super fast--we got coffee refills quickly and the waitress bothered to ask me what kind of fruit i wanted on my pancakes. Western omelette was typical served with okay fries and toast. My short stack (2) pancakes was delcious topped with fresh strawberries and pineapple. The downside was they gave me Smucker's syrup (you can add $1.50 for "real" syrup). The omelette was $6.50 and my short stack was $4.50 + 2.99 for the fruit was may seem steep but I was afraid a diner wouldn't even HAVE fresh fruit. So all in all not the top choice for brunch but it's def above average for a diner

Got the chicken souvlaki with sweet potato fries. The fries were great but the chicken really bland and dry. Took awhile for the servers to take the order because they seemed to be too busy walking around, counting their tips.

  • Mario R.

First time there and probably my last. There was hair in my salad, and after I asked to send it back, the waiter seemed to lose interest in my table for the rest of the meal. We were there for 45+ minutes and not once received a refill on water, even though our waiter gave water to the booth behind us and that wasn't even his table!! We couldn't even ask for water because he did not once come to the table except when we asked for the check, which took another 10+ minutes. It was expensive for the quality of the food, and we didn't get cole slaw like every other diner. My mango cranberry salad was pretty good after they brought it back without hair (which was almost instantly, leading me to believe they just tossed it again and brought back the same one). I think I'll stick to the mamaroneck or port chester diners.

I've been going here forever... I know some people are against this place. I'm not sure why. I think they do certain things really well: burgers, diner stuff, milkshakes, breakfast, turkey clubs, some salads, and fries. Any time that I've had a bad experience or someone else did it was because they ordered the Fish special or Tuna Surprise or something like that. Don't do that. The desserts are always tempting, but they aren't usually worth it.

    (4)
  • Matt E.

Well this is your typical diner: huge menu, super low prices, oodles of amazing looking desserts, and neon lights galore. I've been told by people in the area that this is the best diner around. The food was good, the home fries were nice and crispy and the only criticism I have is that the blueberry muffin wasn't that good. They've also got free cookies, Hershey kisses, and mints for when you pay before you leave. If you're looking for a decent diner that won't disappoint this would fall under that category.

    (4)
  • Ali K.

Meh like Sun. L said it's a diner! It's in Mamaroneck which is a couple towns over and honestly they don't have anything that wows me, but obviously its decent diner food. 24 hours a day obviously i mean obviously if your on a road trip or are just craving a bite to eat this is your place. Can't really say anything distinctively wowed me about the place, cool name and some good looking women have been here each time i came. #winning !
