This space is BEAUTIFUL and the staff was really friendly, they went the extra mile when I booked a party of 12 for my best friend's 30th birthday!!! The seasonal cocktail list was fresh to start, then we ended up splurging on a few bottles of champagne to celebrate with dinner. The Chef Alain Allegrett sent us a special appetizer for the table - potato gnocchi and whipped ricotta, which was a lovely treat. For dinner we ordered an assortment of seafood, scallops, shrimp and oysters to start, then the lamb, filet and a few orders of the burger, it was amazing :) Overall, this is a high-end, but friendly spot for New Yorkers and visitors alike. also, great for people who work in the midtown area to pop by for a drink or a special occasion!

Came here for drinks with an old colleague and the restaurant stayed very quiet until about 9:30/10pm when it became bustling, overcrowded, and the crowd turned... Weird. Upon arrival, it took us a while to get drinks menus and for the bartender to even pay attention to us- despite the fact that there was no one there! The drinks are overpriced for what they were (more like juice). And the furniture is falling apart. It looks more like a rundown club than a classy dining establishment. I would not recommend

I did really enjoy my RW dinner at Beautique. I debated about giving it 4 stars but not sure its quite there. For appetizer, I had the fluke. It was a little underwhelming, just nothing special. I also tried my friend's beet salad and it was just ok. The main courses were a different story. I had the branzino and it was amazing. Very light and buttery melts in your mouth. I also liked the green sauce that came with it. My friend had the hanger steak. It was also good and I really liked the corn dish it came with. For dessert I had the chocolate cake. It came with what looked like vanilla sorbet. I tasted that first but couldn't place the flavor. It was tart. Turns out it was lychee which did not really go with the cake. The waiter brought us some salted caramel to make up for it, which was very nice. The cake was nice and chocolatey! I also tasted my friend's lemon tart which was also good. Also I should mention that we bothed loved the maison martini. We tried the pear drink but it just tasted like a plain (but good) martini. All cocktails are $19. One other random note - the lighting is not good for food photography but it is romantic. Bottom line: good for restaurant week but not sure I would pay regular price.

The place is nicely designed and well lit. The crowd is kind of creepy. A lot of very old rich men in search of really young model types. They don't really care what they have to say, but just look good next to them. Last time I was there, a man gave me some kind of sexually loaded questionnaire to answer and got pissed because I wasn't interested, and another directly tried to touch my friend's breasts (and she was not even wearing a decollete!). If it wasn't for the music and bartenders, who are really friendly I would never go here. The restaurant upstairs is always packed. I have never eaten there, so I can't judge.

Wasn't quite sure what to make of it from the outside, just a simple scribble on a simple black awning. Once you walk in and down and the stairs, it's got a very chic, modern look...with a very club like vibe. We had reservations and were promptly seated even though 1 of our party was late. Ordered a round of whatever Rose they had on hand and it was really light and refreshing, a nice start to the evening. The meal was fine. Presentation of food could use some help, my scallop dish was delicious but at first glance not so appetizing appearance wise. The accompanying foie gras sabayon was very well executed and the combo of flavors worked well. The sunflower butter given with the delicious warm raisin/current bread...uhhh why? It tasted so bitter. Stick to just regular good old butter please. The service though was so. freaking. SLOW and non existent. Chris our waiter was very nice and engaging but he would just disappear. The time between each course was ridiculously exaggerated and some of the clientele that shows up to this place...really need to save their money and stay home. There was a group of sad late middle aged men at the table behind us who were obnoxiously loudly complaining about cork falling into the bottle of wine over and over and over again. IT wasn't that expensive of a bottle and you are no sommeliere sir so STFU. As the night progressed it became more of a club/bar scene than a restaurant and we could barely talk. I think once was enough.

Amazing birthday experience here. Live Jazz Band on Monday nights and an absolutely beautiful space. Service was friendly from the hostess, to the waiters and the manager (at least I think that was him). They even had the band sing happy birthday to me and even the guests joined in. Such a great vibe here and perfect for date night, girls night out, or night out with the friends. Now usually when the vibe and energy is great, the food itself is just average. That is not the case here. Food was really amazing. To start, I had the cauliflower soup which is highly recommended. I am not a vegetarian, nor do I usually like vegetarian dishes, but this was out of this world. Perfectly creamy, great flavour and a must try to start. For the entrees, we had the duck and the truffle risotto special. Both were superb. The duck was perfectly cooked and its accompaniments made it even better. The truffle risotto was so rich in flavor and worth it. Made me a risotto fan again and I would definitely have this again if it was on the specials list. This place is the full package and you definitely should come on a Monday night when its a fun and lively crowd. I will be back.

I went on a Thursday evening and it wasn't too packed, but the service also wasn't good. The deviled eggs were quite pricy for what they were (12) and the tuna tartare tasted off. When i mentioned it, the bartender seemed to imply their was something wrong with my palate. I did think, however, the polo cup was good, but incredibly overpriced. Overall a disappointing experience.

This is for the nightlife: My friend does some shows for the place, so we went at her recommendation. Totally stoked to walk into a seemingly dead venue, pass the coat check girl, an empty room, the kitchen, and then be moved into a gorgeous, artistic room with some sexy muthafluckas. Didnt hurt that I found parking right in front. Count me back!

I've dined here a couple of times with friends and it's always been a great experience. It's a great addition to midtown west. A beautiful room w delicious food and drinks. I love coming here!! It's nice to go to a nice restaurant and get dressed up. The lounge in the back is really fun too!! They always have good music so I can enjoy dancing but not like a crazy club like Marquee.

Alain Allegretti is the NEW Culinary Director with a completely NEW menu. What a difference!!! New management, too! Definitely worth the trip, food and service is really, really good! The Grilled Octopus, Beautique Salad, Beet salad, Chicken breast (the pea puree and eggplant mozzarella Milanese that comes with this dish are delicious!), Duck and the salmon with super crispy skin were all outstanding. Simple flavors that explode. Went with friends but would def go back for a romantic date. (Ask for the "oval room") For you late nighters, there's a chic, DJ'ed lounge just behind the dining room; very cool. This place has more types of bourbon, tequila, gin, champagne, etc than I have ever seen! Someone is paying attention!

Fantastic decor and vine (especially in the back lounge part) but TERRIBLE overall. Came here for an event with a promoter named Noel and had the worst dining experience of my life. Was lied to constantly about whether or not food was going to arrive only to be completely cheated until I was about to storm out of the place. He was disgusting. He was picking off food off everyone else's plates and the overall clientele here were gross, perhaps they were all his guests.

This place was crap! As a native from the UES I was looking forward to a new place to eat and have a good time. Food was mediocre I had scallops my friend had the tuna tar tar, service was ok but lounge staff was pretentious and rude. Was hoping for a good night in my neighborhood, but ended up with some crap food and a lame crowd... Avoid if you like fun.

This place seemed like it was trying too hard. The cracks began to show as soon as we sat down- the maitre'd was huffy about exchanging the menus to the Restaurant Week version, the cocktail book was missing the last 10 pages, they were out of venison and when asked what cut of meat was substituted was told "beef." Also, maybe it is because the Plaza is next door but $20 for cocktails is absolutely ridiculous. Overpriced and small portions. Leave it for the tourists and those with money to waste. Plenty of better options around.

Great food, great music and great crowd, for what else can anyone ask? Rumor has it that the same dude that made Beaumarchais great not so long ago has ventured uptown to greener pastures at the subterranean Beautique. Perhaps its not just rumor? The man, the myth the legend Cory is back on the scene and in a big way. Also joining Cory in the sensational recipe for nightlife rocket sauce is Roberto. For those in the know, know and thus they are there. For the rest of us visit Beautique to learn; to experience and and most important of all to feel...

My girlfriend and I wanted to try something new and we made reservations for Restaurant Week. We figured it was a very fancy place since it's right next to the Paris Theatre and across from The Plaza Hotel. I love the mirrors when you first walk in and the way they have it set up going down the stairs. The decor was very nice, I loved the color scheme they had going on. We checked in our coats and checked in with the Hostess. She wasn't very friendly and gave me a cold vibe. Not sure if she was told not to smile but this girl was so serious it was awkward. When we were given our menus they didn't even include the Restaurant Week menu. So it makes it awkward to ask at such an upscale place for the restaurant week menu. Looking at the prices, I definitely had to call our waiter back and asked if they had the restaurant week menu. We weren't the only ones who had to request the menu, other diners who arrived after us had to request it as well. As it started getting busier, I realized that they didn't have enough Wine Menu's. They kept moving the menus from table to table. At such an upscale place like this you would expect them to have more menus available (especially Wine). For appetizers, I ordered the Beet Salad. I didn't like it the cheese it was sitting on didn't taste good with the beets, coffee and hazelnut. I took two bites and I was over it. I ordered the Mushroom Risotto our waitress who was very nice and attentive suggested I tried that off of their regular menu. I'm glad I did because it was delicious ! This is something I would definitely come back for. My girlfriend ordered the Fluke Ceviche which I didn't like. I wasn't a fan of the sauce it was sitting in. She also ordered the Goose Oysters and to be honest, I'm not a fan of raw things. So I was hesitant to try it when she offered me one. But of course, I went for it and I ate 2 more after that. It was Delicious ! I love the little sauce they give you it really makes it pleasant to eat. For our entrées we both got the Amish Chicken and I enjoyed it ! I can see what the chef was creating. A tradition in my family for Thanksgiving is to cook a Turkey, Pernil and Chicken. As a kid, I enjoyed eating chicken and would have it with stuffing and cranberry. This is exactly what this dish reminded me of. The dish has chicken, cranberry, chestnuts (which is what my mother made her stuffing with) and a gravy like sauce. I enjoyed every bite ! For dessert, the waitress recommended the Chocolate Mousse and I really enjoyed it. I liked how the sorbet along with Mousse eaten together, gave it a refreshing taste. I gave Beautique 4 stars for decor, food and our waitress. I had a great time and enjoyed dinner, the wine was fantastic as well.

Like the vibe of the space. However, far too expensive - although food is very good, there is no denying that. Duck and scallops were well prepared. Sides were extra ($12 for mushrooms. Pretty good but ...) My complaint is that the wine list is a joke. There was actually one nice bottle of Italian wine, fairly priced, that I picked before we ordered. Took 10mn for the sommelier to understand he didn't have it. Offered a substitute... that was according to him "similar, if chilled". I followed his advice, paying 20% more for a bottle of beaujolais nouveau, the cheapest, least sophisticated French wine that costs something like 5 euros in France. Really ?!? Took 20mn for the wine to arrive. We had already started our entrées. Was looking fwd to it but left disappointed.

There have been mixed reviews of this restaurant in postings so after reading those reviews I came closes to canceling my reservation. I am glad I didn't. Yes the tables are cramped together (particularly given the fact that there were only three tables occupied when we ate at Beautique) and the wines -- both by the glass and bottle -- are outrageously marked up, but the food is just fine. The salads were good, as was the chicken breast and salmon both of which were well prepared and tasty. The three bagnets was just right and not too sweet as many bagents are. The food prices were moderate to expensive: $30 to $50 for main dishes, in the $20 for appetizers which is what one would expect to pay for a restaurant in this class. Service was good. Whatever problems they seemed to have in the past have been ironed out. There was also a nice jazz band that played the night were there.

I am writing this as a warning to customers and a plea not to come to this place. Here's why: Last week, my friend (who has a disability which affects her walking) came here. She stepped out for a moment to use the bathroom and when she tried to re-enter the main area the bouncer would not let her in because, as he said, he thought she was drunk. She wasn't drunk, and explained her medical condition. He then said, "I don't care, you're not going back in." (Meanwhile, she had left her purse and all belongings inside). While (very understandably) crying, she asked to speak to the manager, which was not granted for a VERY LONG TIME as she waited outside without her wallet, phone, etc. Eventually, someone came, she explained again, and was reluctantly allowed in to get her things with NO APOLOGY. No sense of shame. Please please please don't give this place your support, and spread the word.

If your looking to be a part of the NYC scene then its just another place on the list. The staff is unfriendly, they pick and choose who should go into the back club area. Most of the people going in the back are paying to be part of a pretend scene and honestly I have been back there its a small area with no celebs or interesting people do not waste your time. The food upfront is medicore at best with overpriced drinks and attitude to match. I don't expect this place to last long as the rent is high and it overpriced with not much to offer. The owners friend frequent the place so if thats your crowd the mazel to you but many other more welcoming and better places to spend an evening,

Came as part of the Elite event. Overall - fantastic food, drinks, and service. The place is designed beautifully. None of this minimalistic or industrial look that most places now have. It definitely seems to have been aesthetically designed for a crowd looking to be wined, dined, and impressed. It's not necessarily my vibe, but I certainly appreciated it. The restaurant is down the stairs, past a piano in the upstairs foyer of the restaurant. Wonder if anyone ever plays it? Anyway, there was another event going on when I arrived - after speaking to one or two random women in the restroom, it seems there was more than one other event. The hostess in the foyer saw my confusion when a few of the eventgoers were checking in and asked me if I was with Yelp. I said yes and she whisked me away down the stairs, bypassing the upstairs activity. The drinks were very, very strong. But - unlike strong drinks that taste very alcohol-y, these drinks actually retained a delicious flavor. They brought out sunflower hummus with one of the appetizers. I don't eat seafood, so I skipped the oysters and tuna tartare starters. But I did try the bread - it was basic, but good, and I enjoyed eating it with the hummus. I ordered the carrot salad as my starter. It was so good and pleasantly spicy. It had lentils that were perfectly cooked - al dente. Just a bit of crunch when I bit into them. It also had kale and, what I thought, was a soft cheese. Menu said it was yogurt. It was a nice presentation and it all tasted so good. I ordered the grass fed beef (medium-well) as my meal. The meat was cooked perfectly medium-well. It was buttery as I cut through the delicious crispy outside of the meat. The bone-marrow flan on red onion toast was salty, smooth, and sinful. We shared the sides - I tried the mashed potatoes and fries. They were regular - nothing bad, nothing great. Although I can't remember what I ordered for dessert, I remember it was plated beautifully and done creatively - and, again, it was delicious! The service was incredible and all the other patrons seemed to be enjoying just being there - not sure, seen and be seen, maybe? Would I return? - Sure, but probably not voluntarily unless someone really wanted to come here - the crowd is not really me (a bit stuffy for me) and it's pricey.

I have been to Beautique on multiple occasions (both for the Lounge and for dinner) and it has never disappointed. The space just exudes elegance and exclusivity - from the decor, to the food, to the service, even the clientele - everything is spot on! The scallops with chorizo are my absolute favorite, as well as the mushroom risotto and octopus. I have actually never tried any of the cocktails, as I much prefer wine, but I can't imagine that they are anything short of amazing (just from reading the descriptions). I will definitely be coming back and bringing everyone I know!

I used to love this place with good food followed by DJ dancing in the back. Now they have become incredibly pushy often demanding as much as $1000 or more drink service in the lounge just to get in, even when the place is slow. It is extremely unpleasant to haggle with the promotors and overpriced. I see them killing the goose that laid the golden eggs. Now you can never be sure that you can actually get in to dance even after dinner. This type of exorbitant pricing never end well. Why ruin a great venue?

Please don't waste your money. This SUCKS. And that's coming from a restaurant connoisseur. I have dined here since the place opened and it was great but now I have no choice but to exploit how horrible this place has become. I have been here over 10 times. Every time it's level of service decreases. Tonight was my boyfriends birthday and I tried to plan a nice experience for him. I had reminded the waitress of his birthday at least 3 times. When we got to the end of the meal there was NO birthday dessert or ANYTHING. All they brought was a check. Money is no issue. We dine regularly at per se, etc. I am disgusted at my experience here and I hope you all read my reviews and don't waste your time. Xoxo

I live a few blocks away so had always wanted to check out the place. Place was beautiful especially the downstairs lounge. Everyone I encountered was friendly and smart- BIG plus. A manager walked me to the lounge himself, again, very impressed. The bar tender there (I went on a Wednesday) made pretty bad drinks. The house martini tasted good but was in a wrong glass. Finally I asked for champagne. Good part was he gave me a chemistry tube basically, so the amount of champagne I got was about 2.5 times the amount in proper glasses. My issue was his poor attitude. He said "champagne? It would be $32. Everything on the Top Shelf is expensive." Well, I invite him to visit B Bar at the Baccarat. I go probably once a week as I live cross street from there. If he wants to learn what qualifies as impressive and elegant clientele instead of phony ones who lie about being traders at unknown hedge funds, trading air, he should visit. Here is the link for his convenience. Oh he should come by and say hi to me while I am there. By the way, glassware there is crystal and explains why each drink is at least $25. baccarathotels.com/en/ba…

One of the best dining experiences I've had in a long time. Drinks expertly mixed, service helpful and patient, and food was pretty much perfect. We started with the soft shell crab appetizer that was on special. Soft shell crab was battered in tempura. Superb. Tender, extremely fresh soft shell crab. One of the biggest mistakes I see with tempura is the batter is too thick, but this was an extremely thin coating that added more texture than ruining the flavor of the crab. We shared the roast duck and branzino entrees. When the duck came out, I was a bit nervous whether or not the meat would be tender given that most European preparations of roast duck are thinly sliced. These came out as thicker chunks. From now on, this is the way to go with roast duck as it allows for a meatier flavor and more balance to the crispy skin (and this skin was crisped to perfection as well). Bulgar and some exotic mushroom I've never had before accompanied the duck which was an ideal complement to the meatiness of the duck. The branzino also had a perfectly crispy skin and delicately tender meat. Again, like the duck, when it came paired with cubed raw pears with mustard seed, I didn't think it'd work, but it did. Almost every restaurant I've been to either does meat or seafood well, but usually not both. Shocked this place delivered on both equally well. Service was great as well. The wait staff had perfect timing, coming around to be attentive without being annoying. They were also extremely patient with our questions. Recommendation: Eat here quick before it gets popular.

We had dinner here last night , i have to say the food was amazing from the appetizers to the dessert selection , the decor , music was good too ...i was impressed I was not very happy with the manager/sommelier (i think his name was ANEAU??) He kept pushing expensive wine and was very RUDE to my girlfriend when she corrected him about a selection .. He then ignored her when she called him over to help out about dessert.... When i confronted him about it and asked to speak to the owner , He said i could only speak t him and that if i was not happy i should write a letter.. That s not a way to speak to customers ...I thought that was rude and was really upset about it..and so we left.. Note for the owners .. You have a great place and mostly a nice staff , it s sad that you have a manager so uptight and so mean to your clients.. Doctor .S

Horrible disappointing service. It took over an hour for our food to come out, there were 9 of us. Half the food was cold. Other tables who were there later got their food first. We got no bread baskets, all other tables got theirs. The bill had an automatic gratuity because of our big party. They put no effort in the service. They took plates away before they were done ,so they gave us free dessert. That was nice. We got the bill and we were over charged with drinks. I have never complained before, but this place really disappointed me.

Honestly just a really disappointing experience. We booked this for Restaurant Week and were super excited to have the venison. Unfortunately they were out of venison, and the waitress (who was very nice) did not inform us they were out of venison until AFTER we had ordered drinks (which were not cheap). Since the whole reason we wanted to go was the venison, we scrambled to find somewhere else to have dinner instead. The restaurant brought us the check for $45 for the 2 drinks without offering to cover it. Maybe I'm asking/expecting too much, but if a restaurant is positioning itself as a luxe, high-end restaurant in an upscale part of NYC, I would have expected them to offer to cover the drinks, to apologize for the inconvenience it caused us. Also be prepared to pay for your vino - the wine list is extremely pricey. All restaurants mark up wines of course, but the markups here seemed a bit excessive (cheapest red bottle on the list is $80, cheapest red glass is $17). To be fair, the space is really nice and the waitress was as nice as she could be given the situation. But my takeaway from this was that Beautique is a very pricey restaurant not particularly concerned with good service or experience. Which sounds consistent with many of the other reviews below.

Went for drinks with a friend who has been helping this place with some PR recently. Apparently a try at "hidden gem" was not working out. I warned her that Catfish keeps it real. I give them 3 stars for the sexy build-out and the strong drink. Biggest problem was the douchiest crowd you could drum up in midtown on a Wednesday. And why do old guys look better in the Hamptons? I guess deep tan and open shirt is less creepy at the beach. In a basement it is a little weird. And yes, those are the same diggers from the bar at Tao. Some of the other reviews seem conflicted "Dressed up, but laid back," "Exclusive, but chill.." "Fresh...but old school." I told my girl they need to get their message straight, but keep the strong drinks.

  • Jen L.

Pretty nice venue. It's hilarious how they turn their lounge into a "club" but it was fun and cozy. A lot of random girls and older guys in suits who try hard to have fun after work I suppose. I had some of their food. The pasta was mediocre and honestly I could have made the same thing myself by just adding some tomato sauce to penne. The fish with mashed potatoes and egg plant was really good though. It was a little oily but overall not bad.

Splurgy yes, but fabulous. The problem with NYC is that everything is either too casual, too formal, or too douchy. Beautique has a nice feel of being upscale and clubby but catering to a more discerning crowd. Everyone is super dolled up but friendly. The vibe is more Boujis, which feels fresh. Super creative cocktails at the bar is a nice way to start the evening. Chef Craig Hopson brings his Michelin stars from Le Cirque, and it shows. Menu highlights include limone spaghetti, soft shell crab tempura, chicken (addicting), and the steak (perfectly seared and pink inside). Melt in your mouth. Dark, sexy lighting, with beautiful chandeliers and leather banquettes to create a fun lively atmosphere. Leo DiCaprio with a crew of people sitting next to us on one occasion. The back lounge entrance is through the kitchen now, and opens up to a chill lounge. Very social, dressed up atmosphere that's perfect for client entertaining and dolled up dates. GO.

I don't know which club that reviewer frequents but this place definitely did not give off a club vibe. It did smell yummy... of butter popcorn on the walk down since it's right next door to a movie theater. It's cozy and the decor was ok. Staff, friendly and generally attentive. Luckily I came here during restaurant week so it wasn't too costly. I selected the chicken, which was tender and delicious but a bit salty. If coming for resto week DO NOT get the red velvet dessert. They gave 4 deconstructed pieces (cake and frosting separated) and were literally the size of dice, maybe even smaller! It also came with a small serving of gelato/ice cream on the side. The chocolate selection was excellent and decently portioned.

First of all, this restaraunt IS cool. It has an exclusive vibe that can only be found in midtown Manhattan. However, my three stars are for the options given for the not so exclusive. I am a foodie, and I love cuisine from all over the world, and I have no problem spending a lot of money to get high quality food. In the same vain, I am a huge advocate for a deal-groupon, gilt city, etc. if you haven't been to a place, why not try it with one of these? My boyfriend and I bought a gilt city coupon for $80 for a 3-course meal with 2 glasses of wine each. So exciting we thought, looking at the menu. As expected when we got there, the special menu for the gilt city voucher was placed on our table. This was possibly the most disappointing deal menu I have seen. For a restaraunt with oysters and shrimp cocktail and risotto for appetizers, our options were a butter lettuce salad and gazpacho. These are about the cheapest possible dishes to make. Main course- a pan roasted chicken, Bronzino, and beef cut of the day which was hanger steak. Disappointing. Desert option was the chefs choice. Now, everything we ate was okay, gazpacho refreshing, steamed served medium rare as we asked. But nothing to bump this review up to four stars. Therefore my advice is two-fold. Splurge and pay the full menu price for the experience, or skip this one. Similarly, to the restaraunt, if you are doing some sort of coupon to get repeat business, offer somewhat similar options to the real menu, and don't be stingy. Final thing- waitress pleasant, but as a whole wait staff quite stare-y.

Rude Managment in a beautiful restaurant located in the heart of the big Apple . Food is delicious and I don't mind the price tag. Despite its Chanel decor, it offered unwelcoming service. I live a few blocks away so I have visited the restaurant several times. On pre-thanksgiving night . after dinner at the restaurant my girlfriend and I decided to join other friends later that night in the club/lounge area . Granted we are known as attractive girls we were all dressed up and we are financially able to pay for our dinners and drinks. But we are BRUNETTES !! I was deeply disappointed that was not pleasing to manager Roberto and his co-employee. You had to be 5"9', blond and it doesn't even matter if you're under age. Who do they welcome? Promoters and tall blond girls ? I am sure investing that kind of money into a location where many investors before could not survive, the goal is to keep consistency, elegance and stable clientele that actually pays for their meal and drinks. It seams like the only people with tables were promoters. I wrote them a complain letter and I hope it will get to intended destination .

Still drunk off my one strong Tequila cocktail as I write this. Sexy, swanky atmosphere. Drew a younger crowd than expected. Thirties through forties rather than forties through sixties as I anticipated. Warm asparagus salad was interesting, but just ok. However, the halibut was absolutely delicious. High fives all around. Bartender was informative, friendly. and professional. Two bros in brightly colored button fronts and polos served as my mid-meal entertainment. They actually called each other "bro". Otherwise, clientele was equally sexy and swanky. Lounge in back (past kitchen) is open until 4am. Staking out joint for a special occasion. We shall see.

Had a very glamorous, well-prepared, and expertly served meal here tonight. It was the second night in business, but you couldn't tell. A friendly bartender made a great drink (called King of Clubs, or something like that), which had a nice balance of ginger and smoky scotch. The pea soup was my favorite--so fresh and flavorful! I want the recipe. Rabbit had a great texture, though a little understated and subtle for my palate. Scallops were great--perfectly cooked and sweetly creamy in texture. I had the mango dessert and recommend it. It was light and had a good variety of texture, with these little white dehydrated sour crystals. The other notable thing about this place is the tasteful ambience. I personally prefer open spaces with windows, but they did a nice job of creating an elegant, dark, minimalist underground lounge vibe. Finally, I would be remiss in not mentioning the pianist and well-dressed, pretty woman who welcomes you at the entrance at the top of the stairs. Overall conclusion is that this appears to be a fun place to dress up and have a chill drink with your art-collector, fashionista crew.

Dining room and entrance are beautiful! Party of 3 and we had a wonderful experience here. Service, as led by maitre d' and head waiter (Brett? and Jeffrey), was impeccable. Friendly and knowledgeable but not overly formal. Wonderful bottle of wine was recommended. Cocktails: La Mexicaine, like a spicy margarita, was awesome. The Gabrielle - floral and elegant with Hendricks' gin Oysters Rocky Nook - excellent! Appetizers Marinated Big Eye Tuna Escargot Pea Soup....the server was kind enough to stop pouring while I took a video. As good as Jean Georges! Entrees Branzino - fresh and delicate with pear and endive was delicious! Sides Fiddlehead Ferns - what? you can't get these but for like one month a year! Desserts were delicious! Overall, a wonderful experience with amazingly gracious service all around!

Super-sexy. Came here with friends and I think my coolness rating doubled just by walking in. Drinks are excellent- we all started with margaritas and moved to wine. Food was also excellent. There were many things on the menu that spoke to me and deciding was tough. I ended up taking the advice of the table next to me. The carrot salad was perfect and soft-shell crabs were amazing. Service was flawless. It was, however, extremely expensive.

This is my first Yelp review and I felt the need to write one because it was that bad. Overall: Terrible service, average food, overpriced, too noisy, pretentious waiters, huge disappointment. Don't come here. Friends and I were looking forward to a nice dinner at Beautique, but it was one of our most disappointing meals ever. Service was horrendous--extremely pretentious waiters who made no effort to cater to their client's needs. We were a party of 3, squeezed into a small table meant for 2. The seating area was freezing with no heaters, it was a 15 degree Celsius night and we were seated at the table by the stairs leading to the entrance. We told our waiters multiple times only to received insincere responses that nothing could be done although there were tables opened towards the back. We were only brought a cup of hot water, along with used lemons. None asked if we needed hot water refills, but were only served iced water throughout our meal. Service was slow and we had several waiters asked if everything was OK though none really cared to get a response and all knew that we were uncomfortably cold. The appetizer, entrée, and dessert was average, nothing to rave about. Two of us ordered venison for the entrée and it came out very tough. The plate it was served in also made it very difficult to cut. Other friend ordered salmon and it had bones in it. Aside from the poor service and food quality, what frustrated us even more towards the end is an obnoxious waiter who came up to our table to creepily whisper to us that a "celebrity" just came into the restaurant as we were tipping and then just walked away. This place was unpleasant in all aspects - in addition, to the music which got progressively louder and we could barely hear each other talk. Service - 0/5 Food - 1/5

Went here for drinks with a friend early evening following shopping on Madison Avenue and sat at the beautifully lit bar (Jean Paul Gaultier upholstery is a nice, subtle touch)--really subdued, romantic interior and I fully applaud what they're trying to achieve in this sometimes stodgy neighborhood. Drinks were wonderfully prepared, bar menu was light and delicious (we had the oysters), albeit some things were offbeat--like the silk flower arrangements or piano man (too retro for my tastes). Staff was incredibly affable and attentive. Looking forward to joining Beautique for dinner.

My husband and I went to Beautique to celebrate our anniversary and we are glad we did. The food was excellent, the ambiance was lovely and the staff were first rate. The drinks were delicious. I had the Maison Martini, which was so good I ordered another one. I had the scallops and my husband had the lamb, both equally good. We ordered a caramel roulade for desert which was great and they brought out two more deserts in honor of our anniversary, which were also great. The location is a little tricky, it is next door to the Paris Theatre, but they need to put up a better sign, we walked right past it.

This is my review following my birthday celebration tonight! A) amazing food. Everything is delicious B)impeccable service. Seriously top top notch. Everyone was amazingly kind, we were even given a mini tour through the kitchen and into the lounge before our meal. All of the staff had a great friendly attitude. I really felt so welcome C)decor is gorgeous. Simply a beautiful restaurant. So to Beautique...6 stars if it was possible. I apologize for the confusion over tip/bill. When you invite a large group of friends I guess not everyone is willing to pay up enough :( I def was sure to add in the extra on my part, because again, this is one of the few classy places left in the city where you are treated like royalty!

Came here for Valentines Day dinner. First let me say the place has a very nice vibe to it, almost Gatsbish. The menu was Prefix, which is common for holidays and it was something that we expected almost every where in city. They offered a 3 course meal, which seemed fine until the plates came...for appetizers I chose the tuna tartare and my husband ordered the oysters. The tuna was delicious but (no joke) it was about a teaspoon full with a few flower petals scattered around. My husband said his oysters were good too but very small. We asked the waiter if we can order a few extra appetizers and we were told that during "prefix" night they have everything counted out to have 3 plates per person and there is no availability to order extra appetizers! REALLY??? For dinner I had short ribs or maybe I should say short RIB, considering it was approximately a 2 x2 inch piece of meat over some very small cut vegetables and my husband had the cod approximately the same size as the meat. Both were well seasoned and delicious but ridiculously small. Then came the dessert. There was a choice of two. We both ordered the chocolate mousse and received a complimentary plate of small chocolates. Even though the food was good, it was served more in a tasting menu portions then dinner portions and if they know that is the case then they should either have a few more courses or offer a little larger portions. I don't remember the last time we actually left a restaurant hungry, especially after a pretty large bill.

I couldn't believe our experience last night! A few of us got there early and we were seated at the bar while we waited for the rest of our party to get there which was fine. The place I must say was beautiful and the drinks were great but that was about it. The rest of our party arrived and we had to asked to be seated because we were already all there. We received our menus and a friend had to ask the waiter for water that's when they finally gave us all glasses and put a pitcher at the table. Our service was horrible and I bet they didn't even try because our party was so large(9) and if you have a group of six or more the 20% gratuity is automatically added to the bill. A gratuity they did not deserve. The menu was way overpriced and the food wasn't even that great. It was $35 for a main entrée of 3 scallops with some tiny chopped up vegetables. We had to order sides separately which were small and $8 each. Like I ordered asparagus which I asked for three times after I received my main entrée and when I finally received the asparagus they were luke warm and the server that brought the asparagus over said "you're the one that asked for the asparagus well here they are tadaaaa!" sarcastically. Which my husband and I complained to the manager about and I was left with the basically cold asparagus. Some of us went to the restroom and some of us went for cigarettes because we were drinking. When those of us that left returned our food was GONE! I hardly touched the asparagus except for having one bite and it was gone! All of us that had our food removed complained nothing was done to rectify it. No replacements but yet when the bill arrived we still we charged for all the food that was removed and basically wasn't touched. Which was quite expensive. Those of us that had drinks at the bar and paid for them at the bar were on the bill as well. 3 cocktails at $19 each plus a tip. For my husband and i. we weren't even given bread baskets either something we didn't even know we were suppose to receive until we saw other tables with them. Other tables received their food first tables that got there after us and when we finally received our food the majority of our food was cold some were sent back because it was that cold. One of or poor friends was so hungry and a vegetarian so all she did was order vegetable sides which were cold ate the sides cold. Another thing this restaurant is definitely not vegetarian friendly. Another three friends ordered sides as well sides that were taken when they were hardly touched as well. To try and make us happy they gave us champagne and desserts to share which were delicious but not worth our food that we were charged for and hardly touched. Desserts our vegetarian friends couldn't even eat. Our bill was ridiculous and when we said something we were ignored especially about the over $200 worth of drinks that were already paid for at the bar! We all ended up overpaying for everything and my poor friend who's birthday it was her tab was paid by a friend before she had to leave and we were sure she was also charged for the drinks that our friend had that again magically ended up on the bill! I will never come here and neither will any of our friends. There is so much more to write but I would be here forever! over $500 for mostly cold food and vegetables that were stolen from the staff off of our table without asking any off us! I will also be reporting them to the BBB

Service and food was top notch. Especially loved the cocktails. The drink called the Gabrielle was amazing. Also enjoyed the duck entree and the dessert was fantastic. Can't wait to go back and try the new spring menu.

Over rated. Crowd is a mix of business and euro trash with generous mix of douche bag types in floral printed silk shirt carrying tennis rackets, shaved headed men with their call girl dates for the evening sitting on their laps and some beautiful people here and there. Seems the real ny crowd goes straight to the club tucked away in behind the kitchen. Food is okay nothing to rave out.

I thought it would be my favorite place for a long time until last week when my friends and I had a party there. The first few times, the atmosphere was amazing: good-looking people, nice dj's, music. But last weekend We experienced that the place is like all others and nothing is special about it, even more, the DJ that played was terrible, he mixed Adriano Celentano' songs with some house music and it didnt sound good at all. Then, he put many latino's songs in a row. There were weird people, in weird outfits. Even worse was that our waitress who served us in a lounge took bill and money and left when we had $70 change. I came to her and said I gave you $100 tips, and there is $70 change and she goes: I will bring you the receipt and you are all set. She brought us a receipt without a change of course. When I told her, listen, there is a change that we never got, she left and came back with $45 only. I was really mad that people there tried to take smth that not belong to them. So I never got $70. My advice, if you go to this place and decide to get drunk, be aware that those freaking waitresses gonna wrap you off.

Worst service I have ever encountered. If there were zero stars I would give that. French "director" had a major stick up his ass. Food was mediocre. I've had way better. Beautiful decor. Potential to be a great place. But service was terrible and had an overall terrible experience. They need to learn how to manage the place

Came here for dinner two days ago for restaurant week in NYC. The decor and ambiance was really nice. Staff wasn't so bad, very accommodating. Found it weird that when we made reservations, it was directly from the restaurant week website, so why would one need to ask for the restaurant week menu? Either way, the food was good but not great. The complimentary "appetizer" literally was one sesame seed cracker thing and like some radish/beet jelly looking thing. Meh. Their wild goose oysters were really good, must try. That wasn't on the restaurant week menu though but try it out. Their fluke ceviche I could've done without, it was part of the pre-fix menu. Their drinks are outrageously over priced, especially for something you're gonna pee out a little later. Their dessert is the size of your palm, just a forewarning. Their portions are pretty tiny. The entree, Amish chicken was good but had a very distinct smell that lingers on you the entire night, even after you've left the restaurant and gone home LOL. If you're a New Yorker or out of towner, the restaurant is in a nice area especially for tourists.

My experience at this restaurant was beyond rude and the food was so overpriced for what was served. When we walked in and the waiter gave us the menu, he told us they were out of the grilled octupus. Great- now only 4 appetizers to choose from and most were salads. My friend and I ordered some oysters to start. The oysters were okay, not great. The waiter quickly took away our plates when we were done and also the bread. I mean, why take away the bread???? Did I say I was done???- My friend ordered the flat iron steak. The plate came with 3 small pieces of steak and the potatoes were so chopped up you would of thought a toddler was eating them. I had ordered the scallops. The dish was also all chopped up, who chops up scallops? They were overcooked as is. Needless to say we were not impressed by the food. I should have listened to my gut and just went to the Four Seasons for dinner. The best part came at the end when we asked for the bill. My friend and I handed the waiter 2 credit cards. We realized that he was taking a very very long time to bring us our receipts, maybe over 15 minutes. He came back and said that he was unable to run our credit cards. We were appalled by what he was even saying; we both had given him debit cards. We said that was impossible and to try AGAIN. He left and returned yet another 15 minutes later with a 'decline' receipt for both cards and said that our cards were not running through. He then proceeded to say how the restaurant was having system issues with Visa and Mastercard, hence that was the reason our cards were not going through. I told the waiter that was his issue, not mine and how dare he bring a receipt of a decline when in fact that was not the case. The waiter responded saying that IT WAS NOT HIS PROBLEM AND PROCEEDED TO WHISPER BACK TO US. I felt I had to scold him and asked him to speak up!!.. I couldn't hear a word he was saying!... He returned to the back and out came ARNAUD DEVULDER. Let me say this guy was even more rude!!!! No client service experience AT ALL. He apologized for the previous treatment from the waiter. I told him I didn't appreciate the waiter trying to embarrass us and make it seem as if we couldn't pay for our dinner when in fact their computers were the issue. I also told him if I had not had my AMEX on me, what would he of done???? He had no responses, only "I'm sorry". He then proceeded to give me his business card. Why are you giving this to me?? You're not a real businessman. My friend and I assured him we would never be returning to this restaurant and we would make sure our companies are aware of this treatment. In addition, instead of ARNAUD DEVULDER offering us a dessert wine as a courtesy for our troubles, he offered nothing, said nothing but "I'm sorry". Looks like he needs some customer service 101 training. I've never had such an awful experience at an upscale restaurant like this. I will never be returning again. What a joke of a place!

After hearing amazing reviews, I decided to venture into the city from Long Island and meet a girl friend for dinner and drinks. I could have not been more unhappy with my decision. The moment we walked in we were greeted by a hostess that was lovely ( one of the only nice things I can say ). We were sat at a table right away. Our server greeted us and took our drink order. As he returned we explained to him that we were going to split one of the pasta dishes then order dessert. He must have asked us 3 more times if that was all we were having. I can see if the restaurant was crawling with people, but there were several empty tables. It was already 9pm and we just wanted a quick bite and to head into the back Lounge. Not once during our meal did our server come over and ask how our meal was. But the second I took the last swig of my wine he was literally on top of me. I have been in the service industry for 13 years and never experienced such rudeness. The food was delicious, however the dessert was not. The chocolate cake had a hint of basil that was nice, but tasted like it had been frozen. After not enjoying the desserts we told the server and he took the plates and walked away without even a word to us. We paid our bill and proceeded to the back lounge. The Lounge was very nice with amazing artwork and great music. The experience went from bad to even worse which I did not think could be possible at that point. We asked if we could sit at 1 of the tables and we were told yes as long as the place did not fill up. Then we would have to move to the bar ( totally understandable ). We sat for a few minutes and the female server ( black dress with a blonde ponytail ) continued to walk past us without a simple hello. At first we were not sure if she even worked there. After seeing her do what I can only describe as the "running man" dancing with her group of friends sitting at the table next to us, we got her attention. I asked for a drink menu and she quickly replied that the tables were bottle service only ( extremely condescending ). I asked to see a menu anyway because we had a group of people on the way to join us. She never brought the menu. At this point we got up and decided to call it a night and head to Rose Bar. As we were walking out of the lounge a group of people were walking in and a photographer was setting up by the DJ. The same server was directly in front of me and instead of saying excuse me, took her middle and pointer finger and pushed my shoulder to move me out of the way! I have never been treated with such disrespect and I have eaten at top restaurants around the world. My advice to this place is to clean house.I would love to brag about the food and lounge to my friends, however the service was disgusting.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
