Ok - so we went to Yelp to pick a good place to eat last night in Old Forge and were surprised at the number of very good reviews. We decided to give it a try and almost struck out as they were booked solid with reservations except for two high tables in the bar area. We gladly accepted these seats and had the most wonderful meal. We had 4 "small" menu dishes and everything was outstanding. Cathy is the out front owner and her husband is the cook and a graduate of the American Culinary Institute. The way the waitresses were bussing around keeping everyone happy made one think they were part owners. If you are in the area looking for a good meal give it a try. If you are thinking of opening your own dining establishment the go out of your way to travel to Old Forge to get a first hand look at how run a restaurant. Well done Cathy and Hubby!

Excellent meal. Everything was prepared meticulously and was served with a smile. We tried 4 of the appetizers and all were memorable. The restaurant was slightly understaffed and it took us a while to get both the check and the change for our bills. But we were not in a hurry, so we weren't terribly offended.

We dined there last Saturday. Food was outstanding, but for the price I expect a better atmosphere. With the noise of other diners it was difficult to hear conversations at our table. Our table of four was crunched in by the door. Servers seemed very busy elsewhere and could have been more attentive.

Visiting from Philly and was in Old Forge the first two weeks of August. We dined (family of five) at 5 Corners Cafe twice. Food: Excellent -- great choices, very fresh and skillfully prepared. Would put it up against any high end restaurant anywhere. Service: -- once again, great. Attentive, not solicitous, extremely friendly. Wine List: -- More than adequate. Reasonably priced, wonderful options and unless you are a total wine geek looking for a very hard to get bottle, I suspect you will be pleased with the selections. I recommend this restaurant without reservation (but be sure to make reservations!).

I lived in Old Forge for 4.5 years, this is the best place to eat in Old Forge and can hold it's head high when ranked against my favorite places in Philadelphia. Small plates or large plates, I recommend getting two of the small plates instead of a large plate if you want to try multiple things - and you will. They use locally grown fresh ingredients, and their home made bread is addictive. Craft beer is on tap, and they have a wine list. When they switched from being a breakfast place to dinners (their true passion) the town practically wept at the loss of the best breakfast place, but got over it because it became the best dinner place. The owners and service are are lovely, fun, and hospitable people.

My friends and I stopped in on our way back from Blue Lake Mountain after a hike, not knowing what to expect. The service was impeccable. The food was superb, everything was flavorful and well cooked. We had mussels and butternut squash soup for appetizers which were both great. We then had the steak, salmon, and 'hash' for our entrees. All were delicious. We ordered all three desserts for the table which included a chocolate espresso slice of cake, creme brulee, and an apple bake. All were superb. I would highly recommend this restaurant. It is excellent and a great treat after a long day of hiking in the area.

Five Corners is truly one of the top two restaurants in Old Forge. The menu changes seasonally, incorporating locally sourced fresh produce and meats. It's best to choose two small plates or a small and share a large instead of just one large plate in order to try more than one dish. There are plenty of choices for vegetarians as well as a great wine and craft beer list. You can choose to eat inside or on the patio. We spend our summers in Old Forge and this is one of our consistent favorites!

Good food and friendly service. If I had to offer any advice is to add some pasta to the menu. Had the salmon and it was excellent.

So far, without a question the best place we have dined in Old Forge. Apparently the menu changes frequently. There was a great selection of fish, beef, vegetarian and chicken. Delicious wine. They served hot bread and olives to start. I had the halibut. It had an asian flair and was spot on. My husband had the filet. I personally prefer a crisper crust but it was not lacking in flavor! Service was great. We will definitely be back... Maybe tomorrow.

Showed up on Friday night of Labor Day Weekend (in town for a wedding)... Didn't have a reservation (which I would recommend) but lucked out and got a table because someone was a no-show. Service was attentive, atmosphere was really pleasant, and good was terrific. Also great selection of wines. Being used to city prices, I also though it was very reasonable.

Hands down the best in town. Chef is CIA trained and is very creative. Only bad thing is that they no longer serve breakfast. :(

Wow! The menu is unique, the flavors distinctive and the ingredients of great quality. Friendly service. The "smaller" plates are not only affordable, but plenty filling. Definitely recommend it.

Great food. We had the maple glazed chicken and the filet and they were both great. If you would like to have a nice dinner this is a great place to stop.

My husband and I had breakfast here during a recent visit to Old Forge. What drew me in was the fact that they had sriracha hot sauce on every table along with salt, pepper & ketchup....a positive sign if I've ever seen one! The breakfast menu is small but creative. I had a hard time making up my mind but finally decided on the huevos rancheros which consisted of two corn tortillas topped with melted cheese, black beans, two eggs (which I had over easy), salsa & sour cream. I splashed some sriracha on the whole mess and I was good to go....SO GOOD! Next time I might try the homemade granola with yogurt and fruit. My husband had his typical two eggs with bacon, potatoes & wheat toast. He was pleasantly surprised to discovered that the bread was obviously homemade, the bacon was thick and delicious and even the potatoes were well done. This place is small but very creative with their food. If you are ever in Old Forge, you simply must have a meal at the Five Corners Cafe!

The breakfast here was outstanding! Whoever is running the kitchen is all business. Very fresh food, great coffee. I had the salmon potato pancakes for breakfast, service was great. There is a nice outdoor seating area as well. Even the bathrooms are a pleasure, there were heirloom roses in the ladies room.

Not sure why yelp says 5 corners is closed, we just ate there two days ago. The food was excellent, very fresh and flavorful. I had the chicken pesto wrap. The pesto was delicious and it was loaded with chicken, lettuce, and tomatoes. J had a chicken, bacon, blue cheese salad. It had a homemade dijon vinaigrette. It was served with a piece of house made white bread. He said it was very good. For dessert we shared a piece of carrot cake. It was a huge portion and very moist and delicious. It had coconut and walnuts in the cake. My only complaint would be that it needed more icing, but I always thing carrot cake needs more icing. The cake was my favorite part! I took away a star for the service. Though the waitress was attentive and efficient, when she took our order she spent about 5 minutes talking to a friend before putting our order in in the kitchen. Very loudly too, we were able to hear the entire conversation. Overall, the food was excellent and I would return again. -e.

Although 5 Corners is only open for dinner once a week, it is still worth scheduling your dinners around. The food is awesome, and inventive. Service, super friendly. Plan accordingly and make reservations for dinner in advance.
