Great Restaurant! Quality Food, Excellent Service, Cozy Atmosphere!! Visited the Restaurant for a Dinner Party and The 808 Bistro was very Accommodating which made for a Memorable Experience!!

I walk pass The 808 Bistro daily and tonight I decided to try it for dinner with a friend. Saturday night, your best bet is to make a reservation! We walked in and were asked if we had a reservation, no we didn't but it wasn't long before the hostess sat us. Either way it's a very comfortable, stylish atmosphere with a delightful and friendly staff. Place got a little loud as every table was taken and this restaurant definitely sees a full house on a Saturday night! The place is gorgeous! Decor is trendy and has a great NYCesque vibe (with prices to match). I also noticed this place has a very attractive staff from waiters to busboys. The menu is awesome, so many great choices that I'm sure to return to try them all. Expect to pay minimally $17 for a dinner entree. I chose the rigatoni with sweet sausage which was fantastic! Friend chose the chicken parm. There are creative dishes on the menu as well as traditional Italian. Portions are hearty (not family style) and I walked away very satisfied. 808 Bistro is pretty trendy and stylish, I would advise dressing up. You don't have to go nuts and yeah there were people in jeans (including myself and friend) and honestly I felt a tad outta place in such clothing. On the other hand I thought for a moment I was at the Housewives of Scarsdale audition as some people went a little over the top in their attire. Crowd tonight was a nice mix. I think 808 Bistro is a great restaurant to enjoy a pleasant evening with a few friends for a nice dinner! It's very cool to have a restaurant like this in my neighborhood, I'll be back!

I was very surprised to see such negative comments about the 808 Bistro. The food has always been amazing and I have always found the service more than great. I am such a foodie and have been to several restaurants that don't even come close to the food and service I have experienced here. I would suggest that some of the reviewers give them another try. Not only have I been going there since they have opened, after suggesting it to my sister she has had several dinners there. Her friends have also thoroughly enjoyed their experience, it has been a huge chain reaction with several friends now frequenting the 808 Bistro. The owner makes it a point to come around to all the tables to say hello, and see how things are going. Linda is always ready to give everyone the attention the deserve. I can't say enough about this restaurant, I will continue to go and hope that people looking for a great dinner will give it a try themselves. Weekends it is best to make a reservation....

Me and my husband really enjoyed the pasta we ordered! Nana's Gnocchi is hands down the best Gnocchi I have ever had. The gnocchi melts in your mouth like tender little puffs of a cloud . We also had the pappardelle Bolognese, this too was absolutely delicious! I can't wait to try more of their fantastic food!

808 Bistro opened a while ago where the Italian restaurant Millenio used to be. We stopped by on the the spur of the moment. During the week, they have a great prix fixe dinner special- 3 courses plus a glass of wine for $28. I don't love the physical plant of the restaurant. It's small with a high noise level. There was a loud talking, loudly laughing woman at the table behind us who was intrusively noisy. The fake pressed tin ceiling helped her voice to carry farther than it should have. Tables are close together. Tables near the door are chilly. Our waiter was earnest but in over his head. Having said that, the food was pretty good. The house Chianti was pretty good and generously poured. The appetizers of grilled shrimp and crispy calamari were excellent. The sole Francese was very good. The slow roasted pork was OK. The ubiquitous red velvet cupcake was good, the almond dessert was cloying. I would rate this restaurant as middle of the road. The food is OK to good, but the restaurant space, noise level and bungling service keep 808 Bistro from achieving it's full potential. It's a good deal for prix fixe, but I won't rush back.

We enjoyed the salads, the pastas, and the portions. The store is a tad bit cozy with nearly 50 seats (not including the bar) but it works. The desserts were really good.

First visit here last night, and was blown away by the quality. The restaurant was full, which was a good sign on a Saturday night, but we were able to sit right away with our reservation. They served bread right out of the oven, which good but not great, and offered to bring more when we finished that off. The calamari was good, and very filling. The tomato sauce it was served with was good, but could use a bit of spicing to add a bit more flavor. The 808 Bistro really shined with their entrees. We got the pasta bolognese and the linguine seafood entrees, which were both outstanding; the bolognese was especially good. Paired with a solid Pinot Grigio, and we were in for an outstanding and fairly priced dinner. They gave a real glass size of soda, which is to say there was more than we're used to, and same goes for the wine: for once I didn't feel ripped off ordering a glass, because they served a good portion. Service was good. The only hangup was in making a reservation; our first call went to an answering machine with a confusing message, but we got through on our second try. Prices are fair, and there is plenty of value for your dollar. Great find for Westchester residents!!

The food here is ok, but often can be a little too ambitious and while I give them credit for the ideas behind some of their innovative dishes, more often than not they fall flat. I'd much prefer to spend my money up the street at Moscato, where the food is tried and true and the service is more friendly, professional and genuine . . . especially if you have to "wait" for a table, or sit at the bar to eat, while the entire restaurant is empty for two hours. If you do decide to eat at 808, skipping dessert is advisable.

First off, I have no idea if this place is *trying* to be all *Manhattan-velvet-rope-y* but they need to rethink that approach. As I said in my earlier Quick Tip "It's advisable to call ahead because their arbitrary seating policy means that you will not get a table in an empty restaurant (at 6:30)." After leaving the Greenwich Food and Wine Festival, my friends and I just wanted to order some appetizers and have 1 or 2 last cocktails before calling it a night. As we were already quite full and at 1/2 in the bag, we just wanted to sit and chat for a little while. It was 6:30 on a Saturday evening. The restaurant was almost completely empty. Upon walking in, we were told there was no table available. On commenting that the restaurant was empty, we were told the tables were reserved. We were not even offered seats at the bar. We would have gladly accepted that we had to give a table up by a specified time, yet were not even offered this option. We even explained that we would be in and out. After that, a snide remark from the hostess. I understand by reading the other reviews on this restaurant that this is a common issue. I wasn't aware that some VIP (Bill and Hill, maybe) booked every table in the restaurant at 7PM every night. 2 stars just because it is pretty inside. We will not be back.

I wish we could give this a better review. Even after sending an expensive dish back because it was delivered to us cold, when it returned it had been so over cooked it was inedible. Good thing I was able to have a P&J sandwich as soon as I got home. During our previous visits we thought this was a solid B restaurant that would improve with time. Unfortunately it hasn't.

I went 2 weeks ago on a Friday Night. My friend who live up the block highly recommend it. Food, Drinks are great so is the service. The mozzarella cheese is died for and so is the skinny Pina Colada.

B rating like another reviewer said. And I thought they were rude or confused when they took a reservation that they cancelled later.

The food was very average , not worth the price . I had ordered grilled chicken from their menu and i can promise you it was not grilled...it was fried! To top that the service was so slow that by the time our main course arrived , we had lost the appetite.

I had dinner here for the first time. My husband had the crab cake appetizer and he said it was excellent. We had the garlic bread with Gorgonzola and it was delicious. I had the angel hair pasta with chicken and shrimp in a cream tomato sauce. It was quite good but needed a little Parmesan cheese for extra taste. My husband had the duck and he said it was also very very good. We shared their apple strudel dessert which was great. The service/staff was attentive, prompt, and friendly. The place is small with ample street/meter parking. I will be back!

Even with a great restaurant .com deal, i still thought the place is overpriced for the type and quality of food i was served. We got the sole francese with sauteed veggies which was pretty bland with what seemed like frozen veggies. We also got a chicken breast entree which sounded amazing on the menu. When it came, it was chicken cutlet with lettuce on top, a few tomatoes and a couple of pieces of mozzarella cheese. Definitely not worth the $24 price. The decor means well but seems like its straight out of the 80s.

My First impression of the Lil Bistro is too congested and Stuffy. There's no podium where a hostess greets you and takes your name(Oh! Please Make a Reservation a day in advance, especially if going on a Saturday). We had to walk our way thru a narrow space up to the bar until a women greeted us. Drinks at the bar were decent. Once seated, I felt like the other patrons were on top of me(if you suffer from Claustrophobia, don't come to this Restaurant!) We order Calamari, which was rubbery. We both ordered the 24hr "Marinated"?Skirt Steak, which was dry and gummy W/ no marinade! It came with a side of DRY Mash potatoes and yummy Sliced grape tomato salad. No Gravy For the Mash, which I had to request. Menu is Definitely overpriced. The food was not spectacular. Waiters were attentive to our needs.

Came her later on a Saturday night with my GF and her grandmother. The grandmother is a regular and very much treated like royalty, the waiters were so sweet to her. We had a lovely meal, started with the chicken meatballs and then rolling into our main courses. I got the papparadelle bolognese. It's kind of my go to when I come here and it didn't disappoint. We ended the evening with some caramel flan ... it was delectable. I've had some pretty amazing flan from Cuba, and I think this was just a notch or two below that. I was very pleased with the evening. I think the only complaint was that it was a bit chilly in the restaurant due to the fact that it was in the mid-80s that day so they probably had the AC jacked up. I'm sure we'll be coming back again next trip up!

I really like this place. I have been here several times and have enjoyed myself each time. The atmosphere is cozy, the food is good, the service is OK, but I was a little taken aback by the nickel and dime-ing of the charges. On this occasion, my dining partner was not drinking and had a couple of "ice teas". When the bill came out, each and every one of the ice teas (water with a tea bag) was on the check for $3.50 a pop. REALLY???...c'mon!!! Unfortunately, that little thing, RUINED/soured the whole experience.

808 would have to be one of my favorite places to eat in town. The atmosphere is trendy and hip, very Manhattan-like and a breath of fresh air for the Scarsdale restaurant scene. I've eaten here several times and have always been happy with the food. No particular recommendations because everything is great. The place may be small, but the food is of excellent quality and is always delicious. Do expect crowds on weekend nights though, but that's nothing a reservation can't fix.

I decided the try this place based on the pictures. The food looks pretty good but after trying it, I would not go back. I ordered the baby arugula salad and Nana's gnocchi. The salad was good so I was excited for the gnocchi to arrive. Well, not only was I disappointed but it was not edible. It tasted like frozen gnocchi and the sauce was AWFUL. It lacked flavor and had a weird taste so I could not eat it. Not to knock Ragu, but it was worse than that! My friend told the server that I didn't like it and wanted to order something else (which I don't like to do) so I chose the quinoa salad (since I thought I would be safe with another type of salad). This dish had too many flavors and was also not very good. My advice, don't bother.

Went tonight with a groupon to try this place out. Place was busy inside so they told us we could wait or eat outside. Since it was a nice evening, we chose to eat outside. They set us up with plates, napkins, glasses etc. Everything on the menu sounded great, and maybe some of the items were, but the dishes we ordered, definitely were not great. I opted for shrimp marinara. The shrimp were big and ok, but the sauce tasted like it came out of a jar. The was no garlic in it, and barely any fresh basil. Very blah. My sister had salmon, she said it was good, but the succotash she got with it was tasteless. My son ordered a pasta dish that he said had no taste at all and after tasting his, I was in total agreement. It sounded so good on the menu, but was flavored only with oil, no garlic flavor as mentioned on the menu, and he had to add salt and pepper for any flavor at all. To top it off, the prices were not in line. $27 for 6 shrimp is pricey, especially when they were in such a bland sauce, that was not worth dipping bread into. Also, I had a choice of pasta or vegetable only with the shrimp. I chose the vegetables and they actually were the best thing they served us. $21 for a pasta dish with no taste and $28 for salmon with tasteless succotash, we felt were definitely overpriced. All in all, with a coupon for $25, it still cost us $72 for 3 for mediocre food at best. Keep in mind, they automatically add a 20% gratuity with a groupon. Service was good however, I will give them that! Unfortunately, we probably will not be back, which is too bad, as we like to patronize our local restaurants!

Took some guests from out of town there for a Sunday supper last night. Restaurant was about half full, service was prompt and polite without being overbearing. The pumpkin gnocchi were an interesting seasonal dish, I appreciated the use of pumpkin. My pappardelle bolognase was delicious, served perfectly al dente with just the right amount of sauce. Everyone in attendance was very happy with their meals, service, portions, etc. I would happily return.

This was my third time at this restaurant. The food is excellent and the service is exceptional as well. They are very generous with their portions if you order wine by the glass. I would highly recommend the duck, sole francese and the salmon. If you are in the mood for dessert their strudel is the best i've ever had. Also, you can order the tease plates which are great to share! Every time i have used a restaurant.com voucher and they have been more than accomodating. If you have a problem with the 18% gratuity then you have never worked in the service industry before.

  • Leonardo D.

It was good but not great. I was annoyed that even though there was only 3 of us the waiter included his 20%gratuity on the check. Maybe because I used a restaurant.Com certificate toward the check. He was hovering over us and really wanted us to stop talking and get out of there. We left an hour and half before their posted closing so it's not lungs we were there until an unreasonably late hour . Nothing compelling be top go back.

Consistently good food, excellent service. I've eaten at 808 many times over the past several years with my aged parents, and we have have always had a good experience. Chef and servers appear to be long-term employees. Friendly atmosphere, prices reasonable for Scarsdale. Note for daytime visitors: Feed the parking meters on the street (or park in the residentIal area behind the restaurant.)

I attended a bridal shower and was thoroughly impressed. The staff was unbelievably attentive, the food was phenomenal, and the tables were perfect. I would highly recommend 808 Bistro for an evening out or to host a special event.

A Hidden Gem... Seated in a small cozy dining room with tables situated to allow privacy we began a very pleasant inexpensive dining experience. Shared two (2) appetizers which was plenty for the three of us. The Garlic Bread with gorgonzola cream sauce was a simple yet extremely unique offering. Dipping the bread in this tasteful sauce brought smiles to our faces. We ordered the crispy calamari which came out grilled. Fresh but limp - basic but forgotten - the tomato sauce didn't stand out but our Main Courses certainly did.. The two specials ordered were complete standouts. The Short Rib Ravioli was a home run. Dipping the bread in this sauce brought bigger smiles to our faces. The Scallops Special in its own unique sauce was wonderfully tasteful. In fact unique flavors defined both meals which is what one hopes when dining out. The menu ordered Striped Bass with its almond crusted exterior - while not as good as the specials - worked with the accompanying spinach and was enjoyed. Service was sincere, polite and professional as they moved smoothly from table to table on this very busy Monday night. Seems Monday is BYOB night (no corking fee) though we noticed only one (1) table taking advantage. Assorted on-line coupons are available for this dining establishment. Take advantage as 808 Bistro is something special.

We visited the bistro for the first time two Saturdays ago with another couple during restaurant week. The food was delicious and we had to have their famous Apple pastry dessert, which was truly delectable. It's a cozy spot, with a great waitstaff and a nice ambience. One of those places that you know you will be back to visit again, simply because you had such a good first experience. Our waiter, who was African-American and whose name I don't recall, was truly wonderful and really kept us smiling and laughing all throughout the meal. I would go back just to hear a few more of his jokes.

We came here with friends and the place inside is charming with lots of seating and the bar area looks also nice with ample seating. This time we stayed alway from the Appetizers and just order our Entrees, however the menu looked enticing - maybe next time. My friend orderd the NY Strip Steak that she said was good, and I orderd the Pappardelle Bolonese with shaved parmesan cheese. I thought my pasta with bolognese should have been prepared with a light tomato sauce instead of a tomato cream sauce. Now for Dessert we orderd the 808 Apple Strudel w/vanilla ice cream, that was good but very rich, but note you must order this in the begining of your meal because it takes around 15 minutes to prepare since they make it fresh. There is plenty of parking but it is metered parking so have plenty of quarters on hand ( not sure at what time metered parking ends). All and al, we will come back to sit at the bar and eat.

This place is really good. Amazing waitstaff, awesome food. When asked if you'd like to order the 808 Apple Strudel, ALWAYS say yes. It takes a long time to make, so they asked us as soon as we arrived. I repeat,ALWAYS say yes! It is one of the most delicious things I have ever eaten. I'm not an apple pie, or apple lover type of person...but this was exquisite. Try this place on Sundays, as they have wine bottle specials.

My boyfriend and I went to this bistro expecting a nice homey, tasteful meal. Instead we got rude service, ungrateful waitstaff and an hour's wait time for 2 dishes that should normally take no longer than 20 minutes. We ordered an angel hair pasta in tomato cream that basically tasted like watered down Kraft tomato sauce mixed with skim milk. The second dish was a gnocchi that was way over cooked, and had no flavor. The onions inside the dish were better than the gnocchi itself. What made it worse was the unjust price for such mediocre food. ($22 for each pasta dish). After the meal was over, we realized something. This place was perfect for those who were over the age of 70 and had no taste buds left and wanted to stare at bougie decor all evening. ps- there was no one below the age of 50 there.

I've eaten here often and always found the food to be quite good and the servers to be very caring. One opened the wine bottle in a fancy way, attaching the cork to the side of the bottle with the foil cap as a wrap-around. It is not inexpensive, but you get good food...worth it. If it sometimes feels small, it is because it is often filled with people having dinner....It is much less crowded on weeknights. This really is a local gem.

The food was good but the restaurant layout was really tight for a suburb restaurant. Everyone was on top of one another offering little privacy. The restaurant itself had a pleasant decor and the service was ok. I would go back if I was in the area but I would not go out of my way.

I really like this restaurant and I have been here a lot. It is small but nice atmosphere and fairly good food. I had a bowl of the delicious and probably fattening lobster fish bisque and then scallops with goat cheese and asparagus. My friend had the cannellini beans with lemon shrimp. First time for her she thought it was great The desserts looked awesome but no room left for that.

This place is outstanding. Near the Scarsdale train station and Garth Road, 808 Bistro serves the best food in the city. Quality pasta dishes guaranteed. I haven't eaten here in years but I need to return, because my experience was amazing.

The service at this restaurant was outstanding! We arrived at a not-so-busy time (2:30 PM on a Sunday) so were seated immediately. The waiter was devoted exclusively to serving us, and he did an amazing job. He took our orders at a proper time, and even dealt with one of the picky eaters in our group by creating a custom salad for her. Since the new salad had no assigned dressing, he brought out a small sample of each house-made dressing so she could pick which to go with her salad. The food was good too, though a tad expensive in my opinion (about $15-20 a dish). Out of all the dishes I tried, my favorite was the grilled calamari appetizer that came on top of a small bed of greens and tomatoes. The slice of steak I tried was flavorful - a bit heavy on the vinegar side but I actually liked that better than the raw meat taste of normal steaks. 808's vegetables could use a remake - they were a bit overcooked and soggy. The grilled chicken was decent, though nothing to boast about and a bit burnt. It was a decent sized portion though, and kept me full the rest of the afternoon/evening. If you're not too hungry, the scallops I heard are good as well, but served with only three, I would rather pick something a bit more filling. Finally, the ambiance of the restaurant is nice as well. We were seated near the window so it was a little crowded for a party of 8 to squeeze into the seats on the side of the wall but other than that, I liked the overall feel of the restaurant. A positive experience, in my opinion!

This restaurant has exceptional food and service. Linda is very friendly and accommodating. Sal who is the owner and chef comes out of the kitchen and greets his patrons. Food was OK...service good...main issue: prices on the website are not accurate.....they are about 25-30% higher. And at that price, it is really not worth it. Nothing special here.

Went with a reservation, place was packed- a good sign. food quality good, prices overpriced, service very good til we showed the waiter the restaurant.com certificate. he seemed put off by it and then when we got the bill he added an 18% gratuity to the bill. Hey that's not right - it was only a table of 4 - not a table of 15. would I go back- not if I didn't have a restaurant.com certificate or another coupon. For the portion size and the prices- not worth it.

Judging from the interior design of the restaurant I loved it. The tables seemed like they were all in good places. My boyfriend and I came here for dinner only because Chat in Scarsdale had a long wait. So we yelped and found The 808 Bistro. We got seated right away, which was definitely a plus. But from then it went downhill. We ordered drinks with our waiter 10 minutes after being seated, but we didnt complain because we figured he may have been busy with other tables. After he arrived with our drinks 5 minutes later, we ordered the chicken meatball appetizer. They were delicious and I almost wished I had ordered that for my main course. For dinner my boyfriend ordered the Chicken Scarpiello and I ordered some pasta dish that had chicken, arparagus, sundried tomatoes (which i asked not to have) and something else, maybe cannellini beans but I dont really remember, served in a garlic and oil sauce. Needless to say when our food arrived half an hour later we were not pleased. Our waiter, took our desert order which was the apple struddle at the exact same moment we ordered our entrees because the apple strudle takes a while to cook. Our dinner came and my pasta was BLAND. There was absolutely not taste aside from the asparagus and grilled chicken. It tasted just like pasta in water.. I had to add salt so I could get it down. My boyfriends chicken scarp was pretty good, but the chicken was on the bone, which we were unaware of because it is not indicated on the menu, nor did the waiter inform us, but we didnt complain, we just ate and kept quiet. After we barely finished our food, we waited HALF AN HOUR after finishing our meal, so I'd say roughly about 45 minutes for our apple struddle to come out for desert. The apple pie/struddle/crossiant/ whatever it was wasn't worth the 45 minute wait. at this point we were both annoyed, still hungry, and ready to go. We asked the waiter for the bill, paid, and left to never return.

This place is beautiful, cozy, and yummy! I've been there 3 times in a 1 month time span and that is rare for me. The gorgonzola garlic bread is amaaaazing. I've tried entrees from fish to steak to short ribs and they are all delicious. Even their arugula salad is packed with perfect ingredients to add texture to go along with the perfect amount of acidity. Great wine list by the glass and first-class service. Even though this place is thought to be not kid-friendly, they made my 10 year old daughter feel very comfortable. She is coming back with me very very soon! Here's a tip- make reservationssoon in advance otherwise try your luck and eat at the bar. The bar is small but very welcoming.

I'm surprised the reviews aren't better for this place. I had a fabulous experience eating brunch with my family -- no wait on a Sunday early afternoon, extremely friendly waiter who was also knowledgeable about the origins of the fish served, wide variety of creative menu offerings, and absolutely delicious food. I had an arugula/fennel salad to start and then really tasty mozzarella in carrozza served with a tomato/caper sauce. Everyone else loved their dishes, too; the banana-walnut pancake was particularly good, as was the Bloody Mary. There are rich dishes and healthy dishes, and much more than just standard Italian fare. Highly, highly recommended.
