Been having the pleasure of eating Sonny's for the past 13 summers in Hopewell Junction. Let me start off with the pizza. What sets Sonnys' pizza apart from any other pizza joint I've had is the perfect ratio of cheese and dough. Both ingredients are generously applied to the pie and the sauce holds it all together very well. The dough is on the softer side of things (don't go to Sonnys expecting a thin crust slice!). Even the crust is just as amazing as the rest of the slice, especially with the alone time the sauce and dough gets once you get closer to the crust. Very filling!! The chicken parm subs aren't anything to special but definitely doesn't lack in flavor. There could be a bit more chicken in it but the generous helping of sauce and cheese takes your mind off it. Bread is warm, soft, with the right amount of crunch on the outside. They'll give you a sesame seed roll once they run out of Italian subs. Doesn't change the taste too much! Gotta love Sonnys. Unfortunately, the man himself passed away this year so I have yet to go back since but I will definitely be back this summer. Don't expect amazing customer service, because they don't need your business. They have all the business they need.

I have been eating at Sonny's since 1976! I've had about everything on the menu and never had a complaint! The food has always been delicious. His pizza is out of this world. A piece of the Bronx had found it's way to La Grange. Highly Recommended!!!

I've only had the pizza here. It is so good that I can't move on to anything else. The dough is dense, the sauce is thick and rich and the cheese is the highest quality mozzarella. The pizza here is far superior to any other in this area and it's REAL old-school Italian made pizza. Just the best in my opinion.

As previously mentioned the pizza crust is doughy but delicious. Chicken parm veal parm hero's are always good. Informal dining up front a nice sit down area in the back. cold beer at the bar. never had an issue at sonny's and I've been going there for 15 years

All of old-school qualities of a small business, in all the worst ways. The pizza was far worse than others in the area (Pizza Village in Hopewell, Amore's in Pleasant Valley, etc.) But the worst part of all is the service. We gave them our hard-earned money, and when asking a question about the quality of the pizza we were served, we were met with nothing but attitude. I'm surprised that they have stayed in business for so long under such a bush league business model. However, I'm sure that they make good money preying upon city people taking the Taconic up north; who are expecting an enjoyable pizza experience. Bottom Line: 0/5 Service is god awful, pizza is low quality, and far better alternatives exist close by.

Just moved to the area in June and this has become one of our takeout staples. I prefer a thinner crust pizza but theirs is still delish! The white pizza has become one of our favorites. We ordered the tortelini carbonera once and it was OK. I would say stick to the pizzas and you won't be disappointed!

If you like cheesy doughy pizza, this is your place. My buddy thinks its the best pizza in the area, me, not so much. A little too much cheese for my liking, but great flavor. Pie is pretty cheap too. Had chicken parm and eggplant parm, both expensive, 7.50 each. Chicken was not much to rave about, but the eggplant was phenomenal. To top it all off, the guy working the counter never cracked a smile nor thanked me for my business, so I doubt i'll travel the extra time to get here, but it was worth trying.

We have eaten here on numerous occasions. Probably the best Veal I've ever tasted north of the Bronx. Old school atmosphere. This is a no frills restaurant / pizza joint don't expect much but good food good service and nice people we will be back numerous times in years to come.

No other pizza around here comes close. Sonny's other dishes are also quite good. I believe his chicken franchise is the best I have ever had. Sonny is also a great guy and has an incredible sense of humor. The ambiance is unlike any other pizza place around here. The decor and music remind you of what old school NYC used to be like.

We have been customers for many, many years. Usually there is good pizza and solid italian food. Sadly, we just stormed out today because I found a USED BAND-AID in my salad! We can longer eat here or support this former gem of a restaurant.

I have eaten thousands of slices of pizza in my life, Sonny's probably has the best slice for the least money. It's just phenomenal, simple, not too greasy and melts in your mouth. Sonny, has the wonderful personality you expect from a man who has not updated his decor since the last 1970's and if you want a true pizza parlor experience you can't beat this place. After frequenting one other place for nearly 25 years, literally since I was born I made the switch about a year ago to Sonny's and have never looked back. Their Potato and Egg is splendid as well.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
