I've been here twice for late night drinks and apps. Drinks are quite expensive. Waitstaff is very young and unprofessional. They fool around with each other and talk on their cell phones in full view of the customers. During my last (and final) visit two female employees were seated next to me at the bar cleaning menus. They chatted while one sprayed the menus and the other girl wiped them. I couldn't believe what I was witnessing. Management certainly needs to handle the lack of professionalism.

I am so glad I decided to eat here. The food is wonderful, and it reminds me of good southern comfort food. I can't wait to eat here again!

Went for drinks and apps. I have read the reviews and was hesitant to get an entrée. The fried pickles were great, but every thing else kind of tasted the same. Nothing special, and definitely not worth the price. I may go back and actually get an entrée, but, first impressions, "meh" , I could do better elsewhere.

Not worth the check prices. The food had no flavor, the hostess must of came by our table about 10 times, it was annoying. I feel like the owners are trying to put something that is the south but with no love and soul. Southern food is made with love, there was no love in that food. The hot sauce tasted like Tabasco sauce, and the lemonade was Country Time.

I wonder if I was at the same place as the people leaving these reviews. My experience was great. Food was fresh and tasty. Fish was not overly breaded or overly seasoned. Macaroni and cheese was cheesy and excellent. I liked the collard greens, they were different from a "traditional" southern green, but had a BBQ flavor almost. Everything that we had was nice, but the stand-out was the macaroni and cheese.

Had lunch there and it was very good. The server was Kathy F and was exceptional. The food was reminiscent of my time down south. You have to try the chicken and waffles, outstanding. I will return to try the bbq which I'm sure will be great. This is a must try.

Exactly what the 3 stars mean, it was good,Ok, fine. Food was OK, service was really good. The drinks were good and the place is really nice. Went with 3 other people and had a great time, we sat out on the front deck. I will return but would not go out of my way.

The food, especially their use of seasoning could stand to be improved, but that said, we've been there 3 times. The place itself has a fun & loud atmosphere. The parking lot & restaurant is usually close to full but we have been seated quickly with & without a reservation. Some of their entrees in the $30 range don't stand up to their pricing. The service the two times we went when they were crowded was quickly & efficient. However when we stopped into an empty place around 3pm (lun/din) the wait staff, servers & kitchen were deep in break mode and we were obviously disturbing their rest.

We have been meaning to try this place since it opened, but we, too, always saw a packed parking lot on weekend nights and so, avoided it. However, we are on vacation this week and decided to give it a try despite reading some of the harsher critiques entered by our fellow "Yelpers." Our take: Yup, nice decor. We got excellent service from Greg, our waiter (although I note, it is a Wednesday night, and the dining room was far from full when we arrived around 8:30 pm). Criticism re: biscuits and corn bread that are delivered upon being seated: Taste, delicious; although, as some other reviewers mentioned, neither were hot,not even warm. It is perplexing to me, especially when I have read that Savannah's is owned by the same folks who own "Little Sorrento", hardly newbies to the restaurant busines, that this small but important detail should continue to be ignored. Haven't they ever heard of warming ovens? The average homeowner can purchase a warming oven for their kitchen renovation and I would think a warming oven would be readily available for purchase from a commercial kitchen equipment supplier. As for the food, we both ordered a half rack of ribs. The ribs were tender and delicious, although I agree with one reviewer who found the "special bbq sauce" to be overly sweet. My husband liked the sauce just fine and with the addition of some of Frank's hot sauce (reportedly, made on the premises), I was able to cut down a bit on the overly sweetness of the sauce. I also found Frank's hot sauce a tasty addition to the mac n' cheese that I ordered as my side (VERY cheesey). My husband ordered the sweet potato fries which appeared to be hand cut; he declared them delicious. As for dessert; Hubby ordered the individual apple pie in the mason jar. We'll give a "10" for the concept, very cute, but alas, we felt the pie itself fell far short of expectations. The best part of the pie was the vanilla ice cream that came on top. The pie itself was rather flat and tasteless. Overall, we see room for improvement (c'mon, folks, break down and get that warming oven for your delicious biscuits and corn bread!) but we enjoyed our meal and will probably go back. The wait staff, though young, seemed knowledgable about what the choices were and our waiter was very attentive.

Tuesday night, not busy. Waiter was great and attentiive. Biscuits, cornbread and what I think was honey butter and is brought to the table with a little dish of cole slaw, all of which were good. . I ordered Fried Green Tomatoes with Honey, Farmer's Cheese, and Bacon, which tasted hard and cold. Boyfriend had Fried chicken with smashed potatoes that were so loaded with butter(even too much for MY fat ass) that it made them too rich to eat. He had a beer called Life's a Peach. He thought it was pretty good. Chicken was pretty good, mine is better. I orderd bbq wings that came with NO celery or carrots, which I found very odd, since its always a staple on a wing plate. My wings were ok. I dont know why I thought they'd be better. I wanted to try this place and I did. I wouldnt go back, not because it was horrible, but because Im not a big BBQ fan, but when I do have an urge for BBQ, this wont be the place I return to.

Beautifully designed and wonderful service. Crab soup was too salty for my taste but I'm not a fan of salt. Smashed potatoes were a tad bland. Cornbread was very good. Biscuits were ok but cornbread was better. Very affordable and prices right. I would go back and try the more traditional southern items.

Every time we wanted to go to dinner there, the parking lot was packed. We finally had an opportunity around lunchtime. We walked in and the decor was nice, we waited longer than I expected to be seated for only a few patrons in the restaurant. No biggie. We were seated and our waitress was attentive and pleasant. The ambience was a little annoying. Someone I guess was building something and the hammer was so annoying. It just kept banging, boom, boom, boom, for about 10mins. Our waitress took our drink and food order. Biscuits and cornbread were brought out with some sweet butter which was to die for! Loved the butter. The biscuits and cornbread were cold which was a little disappointing but no big deal. I ordered the fried steak sandwhich and my partner had the meatloaf. The sandwhich was under par. There was too much cheddar cheese, the steak looked like flattened hamburger meat and the taste wasn't any better. The cole slaw wasn't bad though. My partner said the meatloaf was a little salty but good and the mashed potatoes were amazing. I'm on the fence if I'd go back again. First impression is everything BUT you should be allowed a second chance as well.

Tried Savannah's for the first time last week. Not really "Low Country" (food from the Savannah, GA area) cooking. Biscuits where hard and tasteless. We ordred Baby Back Ribs, actually they where St. Louis ribs, a less expensive rib, not very tender either. Pork Ribs should fall off the bone. We also ordered the Chicken Pot Pie. It came in large bowl with a square of puff pastry sitting atop, I have never seen puff pastry served for pot pie. Also had the Mac & Cheese, tasteless. Decor of restaurant is great, waitstaff very friendly. Food leaves alot to be desired. They have Catfish a few times on their menu. Catfish is not "low country food". Served more in the Alabama, Mississippi, and Lousianna areas. Tweak the menu and bring a trained chef and this good be a gold mine.

This is the second time eating at Savannah's and I remain disappointed. I first dined there when they first opened so I attributed the food quality to newness but a few months later I can honestly say I will not be back. This time I had red beans and rice with sausage. Way to salty and the food lacked that smoked flavor. The sausage was dried out. Another complaint the bread was cold true southern style restaurants serve warm cornbread and biscuits but not Savanahs. Ordered the fried pig belly which was also over cooked. If I wanted chinchiron (spelling) I would have gone to the Bronx. The worst part of the night was the peach cobbler. Dried out too much cinamon and just terrible. Next time I want southern style I will go to Harlem. This is imitation southern cuisine for those who do not know any better. On a positive note the service was good.

Nice looking restaurant, friendly staff and good (not great) food. All the food was served hot. I enjoyed the warm corn bread and biscuits they put on the table. Appetizer sampler was good (fried pickles, corn fritters, catfish and fried mashed potatoes). I got the bourbon burger and it was tasty, though I'm not a fan of the two patties, my husband got the grilled chicken sandwich, which he said was good but burnt. I've not had authentic southern food, but I doubt this was it, though it's a good place to go for something different.

Could have been better, could have been worse. The biscuits and cornbread were terrific. The spring rolls were fine. The fried green tomatoes were quite good. The chicken pot pie was tasty but not enough chicken. The fried chicken was good, very large portion, tasty, but not amazing. The mashed potatoes were very nice as was the gravy - and I don't usually like gravy. The service was very polite and attentive. Definitely worth another visit. Perfect for families. Not fine dining, but local, good, and satisfying.

I ordered takeout for my whole family today from here, and I sad to say their execution on some of the basic southern dishes is flawed. The fried chicken had a thick crispy crust, but it was way over-done and the meat was tough. Too much raw onion in the slaw, the biscuits were dry, and the mac and cheese was greasy and tasteless (heavy on the butter and not enough cheese flavor). Not only that, the milk shakes I ordered they made fresh right in front of me, but were really thin, like sweetened milk. Yes, the decor was cute, and the staff friendly... but that is not reason enough to go back for more. If I'm gonna treat myself to an unhealthy meal, it better be tasty!

After reading the menu on-line I was stoked-barbeque, shrimp and grits, crab cake, mmmm. We love Little Sorrento so it was assumed the food would be great, what a let down! The ambiance and decor is fine, it's actually nice and roomy. However, do they employ adults? The food tastes like kids cooked it. Like nobody could care less. We were given a basket of corn bread and biscuits. I had biscuits at boot camp in Georgia that were way, way better. They also served a peculiar little monkey dish of warm, day old cole slaw. Drinks and appetizer came soon enough. Took another 45 minutes for lukewarm meals. We sat in the small room in the back, which is where you are punished with poor service. Food-where do I start? Mussels in white wine, smoked bacon,- the odor! I'll spare you the analogy. Supposed to come with baguette, which we had to remind the waitress. I thought i would get toasty warm bread-was served 1/4 inch sliced STALE dry bread! Like those bagel chips in the bag? Yep, those. Around 40 minutes later our food-I had the salad with crab cake-this was the first time i couldn't manage to swallow only a bite of crab cake. It was literally deep fat fryer mushed up bread with no seasoning and a spoon of crab worked into it. It was GROSS! The dressing was melted butter with lemon. No seasoning, at all. Who wants that? My kids both had mac n cheese, bbq ribs and the other fried chicken. My daughter's favorite food is ribs, and she couldn't get past one bite, because she said it smelled bad. How do you make bbq ribs stink? They claim to cook southern, but can't pull off bbq? Well, it seems the common theme was deep fat fryer. Almost everything on the table reeked and tasted like deep fat fryer! They also need to ease up on the vinegar in that bbq sauce. Both kids left the mac n cheese, again, what kid doesn't like homemade mac n cheese? Well, when the cheese is flavorless and has separated in the grease it sits in, it's pretty unpalatable. I lived in the south and if there's one thing they do right, it's barbecue. Reading these reviews and after my experience, place needs to get it's act together. Especially the kitchen. The local bars serve much better food at a better price. What a disappointment.

I ate there during their opening week for my brother's birthday and it was horrible. Not only is overpriced, but we had to send my food back three time. The stake was absolutely raw when I asked for medium. Each time it came back it somehow, was worse. By time it came out the last round- everyone else was done eating and I was no longer hungry and definitely didn't want to eat the charred oil-covered burger they kept failing to cook correctly. Then they offered us a free dessert to make up for it and we explained we had cake waiting at home and didn't want it. They insisted and 40min later we finally got the dessert we didn't want. It was a two hr torturous dinner and they never took the stake of the bill. Just poor poor customer service.

Went back for lunch today with friends as my husband would not give Savannah's another try. This time both food and service have improved. Our server Rob was GREAT. Knowledgeable about the menu, friendly and professional. He was very attentive but not over bearing, just perfect. The day manager came over to ask about food and service, a very nice touch, shows she really cares. The BLT salad was much improved over my previous experience. Fried tomatoes were hot and not greasy. The ratio of greens to cheese to bacon was very well balanced. The steak sandwich was seasoned well and fries were crispy. The potato appetizer was light on the inside and crunchy on the outside. Rolls and cornbread were warm and butter was soft as they should be. My friend raved about the BBQ sauces. It was nice to see that Savannah's reads their reviews and improves.

Because there is no other restaurant of this type anywhere close, we have anticipated its opening for quite some time. Our visit was possibly the worst restaurant experience I've ever had. The place gets one star only because the décor is wonderful. Our party was seated at about 7:15. The place was extremely busy. Our food didn't arrive at the table until after 9pm. When it finally did, the short ribs of beef was like a lump of fat, the fried chicken was so bland that it made KFC look gourmet and the baby back ribs were mediocre at best. The biscuits were disappointing too. On the plus side, the owner recognized that there were problems to work out and gave us gift cards for a return visit. We'll wait a little and see if there is some improvement, but for now this isn't a good addition to the local eateries.

Didn't know what to expect going in but wasn't disappointed either. Not as big as it looks from the outside. Lots of micro brews on tap. Has great potential for a happy hour spot. I enjoyed the food. Its not 5 star but its enjoyable. A little overpiced but it is a new joint. I would go back. Bar has great poyential for Sunday football too if they got the NFL ticket.

Been to the restaurant now 3-4 times. Every time little changes make it better and better! Menu has continued to grow service has gotten faster and faster. All servers are attentive and knowledgable. Had the pulled pork flat bread special appetizer Friday night $10.95 for 8 slices. Filled up our party of 4 perfectly for an appetizer. Each one in my party had gotten something different - my shrimp and grits were great!!! My son had the fried chicken and gave his best effort for the monster size portion. Chicken biscuit pie has been turned into a traditional pot pie. It is huge and extremely tasty. My husband got the crab cake salad. Crab cakes are big in size and pan seared - he enjoyed it. We were all too full for desert but had cappuccino around. This restaurant has been given some unfair reviews for a local restaurant that has been only open 8 weeks - they have worked extremely hard to make it better and better. I will come back again and again! If you haven't tried it, I would give it shot and if you have been here before give it another shot. I'm sure that they will change your mind!

We heard that Savannah's Southern House opened and we thought we would make the journey to Yorktown to try it out. We first looked up the menu online to take a look at the offerings and everything sounded delicious. We had high expectations and we both were looking forward to an excellent meal. I am sorry to say that Savannah's was a terrible disappointment. I am going to begin by saying that the prices are on the high side, but if the food is good,we don't mind paying. My dish started with the low country crab soup, the soup was flavorless, and was served not hot but lukewarm (as if it was re-heated). My friend thought she would start with the pork belly appetizer. This too was a disappointment. It tasted and looked as if the pork belly was previously cooked, not fresh and again just warmed up and smothered with BBQ sauce. EEK! I know how smooth and delicious pork belly should taste and this was far from it. For the main course my friend had the shrimp and grits. The grits had no seasoning and all of the dishes components seemed as if they were thrown together not cooked together for layers of flavor. The shrimp tasted as if they were precooked shrimp which were thawed and thrown in the grits not fresh shrimp I had the Jumbalaya which was the special and quite honestly it tasted stale. The Andouille sausage was brown ( should be orange), the chicken tasted like it was chunked from previously cooked chicken and again the dish should have been bursting with flavor and it was flat and flavorless. Even Tabasco could not elevate the flavor. This dish (which was over $21.00) did not taste as if it was cooked for me but tasted as if it was prepared yesterday or earlier this morning and reheated. Not what one expects from a restaurant with these price points. Thinking she would experience a true southern cocktail, my friend had a Mint Julip. The drink was not mixed ( on purpose) all of the Bourbon (a thimble full) was on the surface and the bottom of the glass was filled with simple syrup. Our waiter was nice enough, not attentive nor was he knowledgeable on how they prepared the food. He said that they want to hear feedback from their guests that's how they will get better. At the end of the day I would equate the quality of the food to that of a fast food restaurant and certainly the prices justify the poor quality served. Skip the meal.

Wasn't really a big fan of this place, but I know its still relatively new. Me and my boyfriend had dinner there probably a month or so ago. I was a big fan of the interior, they have set it up and decorated it super nice and the atmosphere is pretty cozy. The corn bread and biscuits they give were pretty good so I am not going to knock those. When our dinner came, I got the macaroni and cheese with bacon and my boyfriend got the fried steak. The mac and cheese was decent but really super heavy i couldn't eat too much of it. His steak really looked like it was just popped in the microwave. the bread crumbs were soggy and gross and the steak was barely cooked. He didn't even eat his steak. His vegetables also tasted like cleaning solution. Not to knock our server, because she was really nice but she came over to the table every 5 minutes to ask how everything was, which i thought was a little too much. I am all up for servers being attentive but it was a little overly attentive. I don't know if we will ever try this place again, but like I said, its still a relatively new place so maybe they are still working out the corks.

We tried our new local establishment for the first time last night, and I was pleased. Starting with the positive, the dining room and bar are REALLY nicely done. They did a great job on the renovation. The service was also pretty good. The appetizer and drinks came out very promptly. The entrees took slightly longer than I would have liked, but nothing outrageous where you are staring at your watch wondering what's taking so long. I won't split hairs for an extra couple of minutes. Especially because the appetizer I ordered was the Fried Pork Belly, and it was outrageously good! I encourage everyone to try it...unless I am going to be there...I don't want them to run out! The menu is very thoughtful, and the preparation/execution reflected this. My wife and our friend both had the shrimp and grits. They enjoyed the dish, but both thought the shrimp should be peeled first. Our other friend had the Chicken Biscuit Pie which she said was delicious, but the "biscuit" was more of a puffed pastry than a buttermilk biscuit. Not a complaint, but an observation. I had the short rib. It was cooked well and flavorful, but could have used a little more of the sauce. The asparagus and potatoes it was served with were excellent. The kids meals were nice sized portions, but a little on the pricey ($10.95). However, we really appreciated the attention from our server (Alexis) as it related to an allergy concern for one of the children. She made a point of checking with the kitchen and helping our friends find a dish their very allergic son could eat. This did not go unrecognized, and was much appreciated. The different roles in service seemed to also interact seamlessly. At one point, a member of our group asked one of the food runners/bussers if they could order a drink. A few minutes later, the drink came out. No waiting for our server to be tracked down, or ignoring the order, or long wait. When the food was coming out, one of the servers accidentally grabbed a plate from the kitchen that was not ours, and another server was right behind to correct that so someone else's food never actually hit our table, and our food all came out together. I think this is a great new addition to the neighborhood, and even with a very few minor "kinks", everything was very smooth considering they have only been open a couple of weeks. We will certainly be returning.

The food is devoid of personality or taste. The crab cakes and fried pickles taste like they were frozen out of a bag.

Got take out from here a few weeks back. The fried chicken was good although a little overcooked... The biscuits and cornbread were terrible. My friend enjoyed the pulled pork and my wife liked the ribs.

We heard about the restaurant through Facebook and decided to give it a go. The decor is really nice! But the service we got was not great. We were seated and promptly ignored. I had to ask the hostess if a waiter was assigned to our table. Apparently there was a mix up, and the waiter promptly came and apologized. Ok, accidents happen, no biggie but I mention it mostly since all the other reviews mention how attentive the staff were and we had a totally opposite experience. The biscuits were not hard, but not buttery tasting as you may expect. The cole slaw was very good though. I had fried green tomatoes app which was ok, the cheese had no taste to it but otherwise was fine. I ordered the chicken and peaches entree. It also was ok, not great but not bad. Not really flavorful to be honest. My husband had the ribs which he said were moist and tender but too much BBQ sauce on them and the sauce is too sweet. We decided not to get dessert not because of the meals but I had wanted to try a new Frozen yogurt place in town. So I can't comment on the desserts. Once we had the waiter come to the table he was attentive and the food came out hot and they cleared off dishes from the table regularly so that was good. My son got a kids meal and he really enjoyed it. I'd have hoped that since its been open 2 months any kinks would have been worked out but I'm not sure. I'd say give it a go as there are some reviews. I do have to say the bar area was packed so that is good.

The food is aweful!! It's not southern at all. KFC has better fried chicken. We went as a group and ordered a variety of items. Every single one was disappointing. The take out menu has more items on it?? Doesn't make sense. The bar menu had different items in it like the shrimp po boy! That should be on the main menu. The place did look good in the inside though and the waitress was great. Needless to say we will not return here.

Much improved. After receiving a gift card from the owner,we tried the restaurant again. Good sign that the management/owner actually reads the Yelp reviews. We went today for lunch, the same weekday and time as our first visit. Parking lot was crowded. We were attended to immediately upon arrival. Seemed to be a large party in off side room and only three servers, usually a bad sign. Good sign, the servers attended to everyone's needs effectively. Our waiter Andy knew about the food and the beverages unlike our first visit. He was well versed in the local beer offerings. We're brewery raised and he was spot on. Happy to see the local beers, sorry not to find a stout in the offerings. Our food was hot,not burned, and properly cooked with prior missteps corrected, even the catfish and shrimp were juicy. Coffee was fresh! The restaurant was as cute and spotless as our first visit. I'm glad we were given the incentive to return, I will now return with my adult kids and grands, they've been wanting to try it. I hope they do well. I hope they find that one or two food items that keep folks coming in at least twice a month and don't plant their feet on the menu as it stands now. Hey Paul D how about a can of peel your shrimp?

last nite was my second time here, and I am not impressed at all, the half rack of ribs was the smallest I have ever had, the pulled pork was very dry, the little balls that came with the ribs tasted like dry cornmeal and the grits had a weird taste, the waiter thought he was funny, but he was more then anything annoying, as we were putting the money in the checkbook he just stood there...

Went there for dinner tonight. Must say the food was very good. Atmosphere was also very nice. Had the braised short rins cant wait to get them again tomorrow when i go back for brunch. Was a little upset that we didnt get a basket of corn bread. But i would def. Go back again. Price wasn't so bad either for the amount of food you get

Something different on the restaurant scene! The space is well decorated and presents itself with classy Southern hospitality, but with a modern twist - large TVs on the wall and behind the bar. Visible from everywhere in the dining room, and in my opinion, it spoils the illusion. The porch is large and accommodates a bunch of tables, sure to appeal in warmer weather, except for the view of a busy Route 202. Another contradiction in space. A big draw is happy hour and an appealing list of specialty cocktails and draft beer. Sadly, nothing in dark beer or southernly special. The menu is definitively southern and offers the mandatory fried chicken, jambalaya, grits and cornbread. All homemade. There are a couple of healthy choices , but if you are here for dinner, it's not for spa cuisine! Diners are presented two biscuits, some cornbread and honey butter. Cornbread and honey butter - no contest! We started with fried green tomatoes - tasty but a little greasy, and the buffalo chicken chips - shredded chicken with hot sauce and drizzled ranch over potato chips. Both portions were HUGE, and the chicken could be a meal. Nod to the chicken in round two. Entertainment consisted of the couple arguing and cursing loudly across the bar . Fortunately, she dumped him and left , sparing us further torture. The manager should have put that fire out much earlier. Meanwhile, drinks were tasty and generous! Dinner was meatloaf in a bourbon gravy and fried chicken with a side of parmesan grits. Chicken was hot, juicy and tasty, but the grits were almost soupy in consistency, needing a spoon rather than a fork. The meatloaf was moist and delicious, although I could do with a lower carrot load. Simply loved the bourbon gravy. A tie for round three. Lots of leftovers. Huge portions. No room for dessert, game over. In summary, decent comfort food, good drinks, TVs for game day and lots of appeal to those not watching a waistline!

I visited for the first time yesterday. Even though the restaurant didn't have the best reviews online, my boyfriend and another friend of mine had positive experiences. My boyfriend and I ate outside yesterday. It was a very nice atmosphere. Our server was Amanda and she was fantastic and the service was fast. I didn't find my fried chicken breast to be as fantastic as others have told me, but I ate it. My boyfriend had the pork and rib combo and liked it. I'm not running back, but I will give it another shot.

When you walk into Savannah's you feel like you are Scarlett O'Hara on the steps of her mansion in the deep South. Just kidding, the most Southern thing about this place is the mason jars they use as lamps. The decor is the first thing that should tip you off that you will not at all be having an even remotely Southern meal (even for above the Mason Dixon.) Their house drinks are weak- I had the blackberry lemonade which looked good on paper but they use lemonade that tastes like minute maid, the "blackberry puree" isn't a purree at all but a questionable syrup that leaves the bottle the consistency of tar and they don't put nearly enough bourbon in to even come close to justifying the price. Decent beer selection though. Can't talk about the food as we didn't feel welcome enough to bother ordering since the staff seemed to be in a hurry to go home - which seems like a blessing given the reviews this place has. Don't try to go there the late hours they claim to be open, the employees will call last call a half hour early and start turning off the music and lights before their actual closing time - super unprofessional.

TAKE OUT ...... LEAVE IT !!!! Ordered take-out a few months after this place opened and the food was fairly good. Returned 1/2/15 and ordered the same take-out selection (Table #4). Price increased by $10 and number of side dishes decreased from 4 to 2. Got the order home and every item was ice cold. Live only a few blocks away and returned the next day to inform the manager. Was offered coupons for the inconvenience. Coupons for more food? Manager made no real attempt to keep me as a customer. A refund for half the bill would've been more effective. Needless to say, my family and I will never return to Savannah's.

Tonight i went with my two kids and the service was exceptional. From the moment we walked in we were greeted multiple times( by different people) and left with sincere sounding goodbyes and come back soon. We were immediately brought cornbread and biscuits with a delicious honey butter. Our server, Craig, was incredibly attentive and initiated the idea of my kids splitting one order of chicken and fries. This was a great idea because my son was only interested in the french fries. My daughter really liked the chicken and the icecream that came with it. I ordered the pulled pork platter and smashed potatoes. The serving size was generous and the potatoes were good......here it comes....but I had to compare it to Dinosaur BBQ and it couldn't live up to that expectation. Next time we go I'll try the ribs or the fish to see how good they are.

I'm a retired chef from New Orleans and seldom am I satisfied when I go to dinner. When I heard Savanah Southern House in New York I sarcastically smiled. WELL I WAS PLEASENTLY SUPRISED. it was a good experience (despite having an Alabama fan wait on me) I will go back and for me that is saying something.

This is now my 4th time trying Savannahs. After hearing many people say it's gotten better, I decided to give it a try with my boyfriend. We ordered the fried green tomatoes, he got the buffalo sliders and I got the fried chicken. I expected the fried green tomatoes to be as good as I had remembered it, but when they came the outside was fried but the inside of the batter was wet and tasted like uncooked batter. When my two piece fried chicken came out, I'm sure the waitress noticed my look of distress but said nothing. My two piece chicken came out as one hearty piece and one fried bone. The piece with meat was stringy and dry, and the mashed potatoes did not have a touch of salt. If a southern restaurant still can't figure out one of the most classic southern dishes, there's an issue. My boyfriend had no problem with his sliders though. I will stop recommending this place to people I know. The only reason it's getting two stars is because the bread is just so good.

Came here with the family and despite reviews the chicken was really good I made the mistake of ordering pot pie which wasn't bad but it paled in comparison to the fried chicken and Mac and cheese that wife and daughter had Fried pickles as an appetizer was good and the biscuit and corn bread they bought out for fillers was also tasty with some sweet butter that was actually good The bourbon bread and chocolate explosion was tasty as was the expression martini and the coconut chocolate martini The service was good and despite being crowds on a Saturday night we got our food rather fast Probably will come back because I want to try the brunch they have

Decent food and good for a family outing. It's about as authentic to Southern cuisine as you'll find in Westchester. The portions are large and prices are fair. You'll be treated to warm biscuits, cornbread and honey butter once you're seated. Food is served quickly and we've been happy with everything we've tried so far. Appetizer plates are a little on the small side for the price, but make up for it in taste. The desserts are delicious and we always find ourselves ordering pie despite how full we are. They also have a nice selection of local beers. Even when it's crowded we've never had too much of a wait and the the service is always excellent. I personally recommend their Farmer's Salad. I often get this for lunch, or alongside my dinner and it is one of the only places where I've ever really enjoyed eating salad out. Ingredients are very fresh and their homemade dressing is delicious!

A surprisingly authentic take on Southern cuisine in the hinterlands of Westchester. Having lived much of our lives in the South, my fiancee and I were skeptical of Savannah's, but we were pleasantly surprised. The oyster po' boy was absolutely fabulous, and the shellfish were just as fresh as the waiter promised. My fiancee's fried chicken was crisp and the batter was quite well seasoned, and while the chicken was probably left in the fryer about 30 seconds too long, it was still quite good. If you can't make it for dinner, then do come in for happy hour. They have well-priced (under $10) drink specials, competent bartenders, and especially necessary for a Southern restaurant, a fair whiskey selection. In ordering off the happy hour menu, I particularly enjoyed the fried green tomatoes (a dish which is basically the perfect appetizer). That said, Savannah's rendition tries too hard to hide the star of the show. Yes, goat cheese, bacon, and honey are delicious on just about anything, but you really shouldn't need all of that with fresh produce. Savannah's probably could hold its own in most Southern towns. In the New York suburbs, however, it's quite a gem.

Great place for a bit I of southern cooking. Coming to Peekskill from Oklahoma and Texas has me a bit lonely sometimes for food that tastes like it's from 'home'. I'm a fan of their fried chicken and especially their fried catfish. Staff is very competent and friendly. Easy parking, clean. My favorite place to eat in the area.

My husband has been here before but it was the family's first time. The kids had chicken tenders w/ Mac and cheese and fried catfish w/ Mac and cheese. They loved their meals!! The catfish was good and the Mac and cheese was delish. The chicken fingers were beyond crunchy! My husband devoured his chicken fried chicken and smashed potatoes. He did complain that the chicken was a bit under seasoned but not by much. He ended up using some of the bacon BBQ sauce that was on the table and loved it. I had chicken and waffles. I loved that the waffles wasn't too thick. My chicken could have used a bit more salt but once I put the hot sauce on it, it was perfect. I was too full to have dessert there but got dessert to go so I'll review it later! Can't wait to come back.

Be cautious of your reviews . Yelp is starting to remove bad reviews. My latest dinner which will be my last visit here unless they change hands was a disaster they left my Son Ill 4 hours after eating here. The menu was overpriced And a Chicken fried steak which was not steak at all and way too salty dressed the plate in dirty grease. Also the entree was served with no salad, vegetables nor potato. The restaurant was empty. Our table and one table sat just before we left. Yelp censorship is bad news . It's not the first but third review they removed. Not fair to the unsuspecting diners.

*sigh* I really really really want to like this place. Both times I've eaten here both hubby and I agree their (free) corn bread/biscuits with sweet butter and apps are better than their entrees... I'm being generous by giving 3 stars bc besides the delicious apps, the service both times have been pretty good. Apps we've tried - Corn Nugget and FRIED GREEN TOMATOES - must try... Entrees - Chicken & Peaches, AppleJack Chicken, Catfish - fried (greasy) and Pulled Pork Platter (bland). Both times my daughter had the Mac n cheese which comes with an ice cream cone. She was happy with her meal! :) Dessert we had the Molten Lava Cake - delicious. I'd also like to add that the decor of the restaurant is very trendy and I wish I could have their fireplace in my house!! :)

I just happened to stumble to this place after completing a job in cortlandt. My guys and myself were hungry and happened to see the southern food sign and decided to give it a try. We loved it, I had the bourbon burger with fries. I loved it so much two days later I brought my wife and kids and they loved it. Kayla and Sal were great too.

Had lunch there. Beautiful inside, feels good. Family and couple friendly. Better than the average local food around here. Service is nice on surface.. But not when there's a screw up! They brought me the wrong sandwich and I didn't get to eat with my husband since by the time the correct sandwich came, I had to ask for a to go container sine the new sandwich took way too long to bring. Got the first apology finally at paying time, no offer to compensate for the meal at any point. So in conclusion, I didn't actually eat there. I didn't like sandwich that I tasted in the to go container. Will only come back for happy hour, maybe. Don't recommend.

Southern? Not so much. Biscuits and cornbread were served cold and biscuits tasted a bit like the bread at little sorrentos which is not necessarily a bad thing but not what one would expect of a southern biscuit. She crab soup was ok but was more like she crab chowder. Did not have the rich creaminess of she crab soup I've had in savannah. Pulled pork and fried chicken was good. Collards were sweet. Sweet potato casserole was ok. Dessert was disappointing. Jar pie crust was a thick tasteless glob. Rice pudding did not have the custardy texture we are used to. Service was absolutely excellent!!!! To be fair, they have only been open 2 weeks. I'm sure they will improve with time. It's definitely a nice change of pace for an Italian and Chinese cuisine dominated area.

Always looking forward to trying local places. The place is very pretty with nice decor a large selection of beers on tap. The menu was very limited and really had nothing that caught my eye. We ordered a beer a mixed drink and 2 pecan pies. The pies were a warm tiny cup of pecans heavy syrup and a tiny crust. We were disappointed with it. Then the bill came it was almost $33. 2 pies 1 beer and 1 mix drink $33. Save your money and go someplace else.

I'm not sure where a lot of the negative reviews come from here? After one visit, I'm suspect. I went with 11 friends and I had to call twice to make reservations. Both times, the person on the phone was friendly and actually pleased to accommodate us! There was plenty of helpful staff on hand and the decor was great. The complementary corn bread is a must! Being 11 people, we were able to sample quite a few things. The corn nugget appetizer was amazing. It came with a remoulade that I would like to get the recipe for. For my meal, I personally got the pulled pork sandwich, which came with sweet fries. The fries had a nice coating on them and were quite crispy. The roll the pulled pork came on was nearly sweet and complemented the pork. Perhaps my favorite part was the spacious atmosphere. Today was raining, but I intend to go back and sit on the front patio. Overall, I think it's a welcome addition to the area. I will be back.

First, this restaurant is very nice. Unfortunatly the food could be better. The biscuits are dry and tasteless. On my first visit we had fried green tomatoes (very good), potato bites (had a weird taste) and the bbq combo of ribs and chicken. Blah, nothing spectacular as you would expect in a southern resturant; so so bbq sauce, ok meat. We were excited to try the Apple pie in a jar...it was undercooked and completely raw inside. Not to mention they charge an extra $2 for a scoop of vanilla ice cream! We tried this place a second time hoping they improved. I had the fried chicken; it was good! Crispy and fresh, the portion was huge. I've heard they run out of fried chicken often but this was the only menu item we liked so far. My hubby had the meatloaf which he said was just ok.

This place has been rockin the house since opening a few days ago. Packed dining rooms, crowded bar, orders to go...you name. Is the service a bit disorganized, absolutely. Will they get it all together, for sure. Is the food OMG, you have to go? Not really, but there are definitely dishes you won't find anywhere else in Northern Westchester, ie Catfish sticks. She Crab Soup was delish as was the spring rolls. I didn't try the fried goat balls or whatever that is, but the rest of the group was unimpressed. The ladies loved their respective salads. I'm sure they will develop a crowd of regulars. Me, I'll probably be a regular at the bar.

A-OK is how I would describe our second visit. We were provided with a gift certificate to give them another try (very nice gesture) and decided what the heck. We went Friday (9/5) around 7:30 or so and were seated promptly. They have finally started warming the biscuits and corn bread before bringing to the table. They also didn't appear to have run out of anything, unlike last time. The BBQ fried calamari was tasty. A unique spin on your traditional calamari and it was fried well. The Mac and cheese on the other hand was gross. Soupy, mushy and oddly flavored. Jennifer, our waitress immediately swapped it out for the sweet potato casserole. The fried chicken was crispy and still tender and not overly breaded and heavy like the last visit. My husband's chicken fried steak was good (so he says) but the gravy was like licking a salt lick. Dessert was good...not amazing, but good. Total bill was almost $90 (pre-tip), which, if we didn't have the gift certificate would have made me cry a little. I don't mind spending this much for an amazing meal, but when most everything was simply "good" it pains me a little bit to spend this kind of money.

You would figure that after making reservations for a party of 10 on Mother's Day at 6 that things would be ready when we arrived. The restaurant was not crowded at all yet we stood around waiting. After seated the waitress took orders including dessert. The food was pretty good nothing to write home about. Dessert was not worth waiting for..coffee, was served burnt and again we waited for dessert. I myself will never back. Owners should stick with Italian food..I am generously giving them a 2

The only thing good were the biscuits.....Okay and the beer....Skip the meal. I had fried fish....effing terrible, almost couldn't eat it. Definitely was not fresh. Wings tasted "fine" but I guarantee they were frozen as well. One of the sauces they gave me for dipping was utterly disgusting. If you come here just get hammered off the decent beer choices they offer and then the food will taste like god damn Gordon Ramsey made it. Also when you are wasted and the check comes you won't think you're eating at one of Ramsey's restaurants because the prices are a little steep for the shit food. 2 stars because the biscuits and corn bread you get for free are freaking delicious.

Love this place! Different food compared to anywhere else around and great ambience. We love to go and eat at the bar. Always good beer selections. Heather and Donna are often behind the bar and are always pleasant, welcoming and provide great service. The new chef has also made really good improvements in all of the dishes and added new ones. If you haven't been there in a while, go back now!

Finally had the chance to get into Savannah's for a late dinner with the family. Decor is really nice, service was fast and friendly. Biscuits that were brought to the table were hard. The corn bread was tasty and the spicy slaw was good. We tried the fried pickles and they were tasty too. Our entree was the fried chicken. It was a four piece entree. The chicken seemed overcooked. The chicken was very dry and the coating was hard and lacked any real flavor. I expected the chicken to be golden brown but it was more like gravy brown. We all ordered the chicken and all of our pieces were the same. We'll give them another try. Heck, anyone can have a bad day.

Decided to get to Savannah's early for dinner since it's been packed since it opened. Decor is really nice, service was fast and friendly. Biscuits that were brought to the table were harder than hockey pucks. Could not even break them in half. We were brought a new basket with softer biscuits. Corn bread was tasty and the spicy slaw was good. Crab soup was very good as were the little corn bite appetizers. One entree came out piping hot (mac and cheese), the other entree was warm at best. The bbq sauce is very sweet. Mac and cheese was very dense and not cheesy tasting. They use shell pasta which has a tendency to roll together into tough pasta balls. The top is covered with what we thought were grated rock hard biscuits. The fried chicken was tasty and very crunchy, not doughy/soggy like some.

This place has good food and a great idea since the majority of food places in this area tend to be unoriginal. I enjoyed the food, and I definitely recommend this place, but I was not wowed. The beer on tap was great and the vibe was nice, yet with a little more effort, this spot could become a gem. I think they need to tinker the recipes a little bit to reflect true southern cooking, and perhaps work on making the vibe a little more akin to that traditional southern hospitality that we've come to expect from a southern eatery.

Can't exactly give an adequate review bc my friends and I waited for over an hour and decided to leave. We walked in at 8:30 and were told the wait list (bc no reservations are taken under parties of 8..very confusing to try and understand on the phone as well bc I was shuffled around to multiple ppl) would be 40 mins. We stood by the bar and had a martini and beers. Around $8 per drink and I suppose typical for this type of establishment- decent liquor wise and taste (peach berry tini.) I hope the bottled beers are cheaper than the $8.50 crafts on tap. The owner was moving about the room greeting ppl and offered us cornbread & biscuits which is a nice touch. The food seems to sound promising and unique for our area; but once looking over the menu you'll notice the prices are a bit steep. $22+ for shrimp and grits entree, $15 for a crab dip app which one patron said was "very fishy." Understandable bc it's lump blue crab. If the portions and flavors are on target, then I guess prices are substantiated?? Overall I'm hoping to try again on another night in hopes it won't be too busy and they work out opening month kinks and get a feel for everything. I'm also hoping they add more menu items as well and cut back on some of the prices-- bc seriously, southern food to me means comfort with a reasonable price tag. Not leaving feeling full and with a huge bill for fried food. We'll see. I really want to like this place and have a new establishment in the area

Come back here again? I could take it or leave it. We were seated quickly, and I liked the atmosphere, but that's where my praise ends. Biscuits were tough, cole slaw was over-spiced, and my entree, chicken and peaches, was bland. The waiters were attentive, perhaps too much so. We were asked how our meal was so many times that it was somewhat disruptive. I love good service, but it was a little much here. I had high hopes for this place after hearing how packed their parking lot has been. As I said, I could take it or leave it. I would come back, but I wouldn't be thrilled to do so. I also wouldn't care it I never returned. I give this place an official "meh."

I expected more from the owners of Little Sorento. Pleasing decor and congenial service, however, are not sufficient. One visit was enough to convince me that this is southern cooking by northerners who think that grits, fried chicken and catfish on the menu make it southern. While I am no southern expert, a few months spent in Georgia tell me this is not southern food. Biscuits were meh, corn bread was strictly from a boxed mix. Seafood Mac and cheese had little discernible cheese flavor and the fried chicken has no seasoning and barely any crust at all. I think the waitress was embarrassed to be serving it. At these prices, she just might be.

I had such high hopes for Savannah's, but they were dashed very quickly. We went on Mother's Day. The hostess had trouble seating people because although we had a reservation and they had a full staff many of the tables had been left dirty from the previous guests. We arrived during a lull in the traffic and most of the staff including our waitress was chatting in the back. Loudly... on the Pre-fixe menu food , the selection was good but I was unlucky enough to have both a raw and burnt item on my plate. The waitress replaced it with a smile ( its wasn't her fault) but this place has a staff or at least that day had a staff that was young and inexperienced. My Mom picked the steak and it looked like they took a standard steak and sliced it in two. it was most the width of a piece of pot roast a small piece of pot roast. I understand it was Mother's day and they were busy but that's the restaurant business. This was a poor showing for a place that came so highly recommended.

Really enjoyed this place. My kids brought me here for my birthday and I was happily surprised to find a place like this in our area. We had Fried Chicken, Jambalaya, and Chicken Pot Pie. The Fried Chicken was crispy on the outside and tender and juicy on the inside. All the portions were huge, including the Chicken Pot Pie served in a cast iron skillet. I would definitely go back!!!!!

So, the last time we were at Savannah's, it was two months after they opened. We didn't have a great experience. My wife recently talked to the owner Gina, who also owns Little Sorrento. Gina told her they made a lot of changes and urged us to try it again. We went tonight and I'm really glad we did. I eat southern food a lot in Texas; different type of BBQ, but still "technically" southern. I must say, Savannah's is now really, really good. We had ribs, fried chicken (house specialty), pulled pork, a burger, the Mac and cheese, sweet potato fries, cole slaw, corn bread and biscuits. The biscuits were hot and fluffy with a great outer crust. The butter has a strong honey flavor and worked really well on the biscuits. The ribs were a bit fatty, but the sauce was good. They didn't quite fall off the bone, but the meat tastes great and the ribs were very balanced with the amount of sauce used. The fried chicken rocked. It was very crunchy on the outside with a slight bite from the spices used. The meat inside (I had dark meat only) was tender and fell off the bone. The pulled pork was moist and sparsely covered in sauce. This allows you to put as much, or little, sauce on it as you want. The bacon flavored bourbon BBQ sauce is thick and sweet (more like Texas BBQ sauce, not North Carolina). The burger was tender and cooked exactly as ordered. The Mac and cheese was not your standard Mac and cheese. Very creamy and cheesy. The sweet potato fries were really fried, very deeply. They were extremely crispy and the sweet potato inside was meaty and thick, like homemade fries. Service was excellent. We sat down quickly when it was busy (we had reservations). We got water and biscuits right away and our server was outstandingly friendly. They were out of the beer special and chicken pot pie (at 7:30pm on a Friday); that was a bit surprising. The problem we had on the first visit was that they were out of everything we wanted. It was better this time because I was happy to get a different beer anyway. They had a very nice selection of draughts. The portions were huge, so we have lunch and dinner for tomorrow, too. We will be going back. Thanks for the update and nudge, Gina! You're going to have new regulars.

I have gone to Savannah's multiple times over this year. It's so hard to find good southern food, so we tend to devote our time seeking out a good southern meal in the NY/CT area. In most ways this place delivers exactly that, it's a nice southern vibe, a typically friendly and warm staff. They play good music. The appetizers are incredible. Buffalo chicken chips recommended. Fried Macaroni bites are also dope. Nice generous portions. The biscuits and honey butter are so damn good. Some days the final product is better than others, but not too terribly off. The entrees are a bigger hit or miss. We are usually so full from the appetizers it ends up being okay. It's better to go just for drinks and appetizers for meals. It's hard to find chicken fried steak in these parts so I am always excited to try that. As for pricing, we have always been shocked at how small the bill ends up being. I say give it a shot.
