Awesome spot for lunch. $5 Caesar chicken salads but you can mix up the dressing. The real seller is the bimbimbap for $9.95; add $1 for brown rice. The bowl is huge with great vegetables and marinated bulgogi meat. They also have smaller versions for for $7.95 called the dunbop.

I wish I can say something positive about this place. First off, the cashiers have awful attitudes as if the world owes them something. When I ask for napkins this cashier rolled her eyes at me and said, "I put napkins in your bag." A friend of mine went here for soup and she said the servers working at the soup counter snickered and said something about her and the other servers laughed. So when she got her soup it was half full. The salad bar wasn't that bad. But the food looks like it had been recycled from the previous day. Some of which looked old. Not fresh at all. I looked at the patrons sitting at the eating area. They look upset. Why?

I ate here after realizing that most restaurants close at or before 10pm. The choices were plentiful and the brisket in onion gravy, meatballs and broccoli in cheese sauce were all pretty bland but better than nothing.

This is my FAVORITE lunch place in FiDi. They have so many options from the hot food buffet to the salad bar to sandwiches to soups, and more. I usually get food from the buffets and it's always delicious and fresh. Fast service too! Only giving 4 stars because I wish they had more gluten free options in the buffet - a lot of the items have pasta in them or are fried with breadcrumbs so I always get the same 3-4 items.

The tofu bimbimbap wasn't bad -- but I wish I hadn't seen the kitchen just afterward. This place is dirty, dirty, dirty. I waited for the restroom for about five minutes before giving up -- the floors in the back are filthy and there is trash on the floor of the kitchen. Won't be back!

I'm a regular here during my lunch break. They have a small buffet area with hot and cold foods, a salad bar and a counter service deli. The staff is very friendly and prices are reasonable. There's an indoor and outdoor seating area.

There is simply no comparison for this deli when considering the most important NYC deli criteria of speed, cleanliness, price, and taste. This place scores high in all categories. Snack selection is near endless, the drink refrigerator is what dreams are made of, and the chicken parm sub will have you sweating straight marinara sauce for days. Good for breakfast or lunch, or that midday pick-me-up snack that the working-types down here really need. To quote Marshawn Lynch.... "this spot hot!"

Who knew Plaza Deli would have a pretty solid udon soup? I originally was going to go try Mooncake Foods but they are cash only and I didn't have any on me So I went to Plaza Deli and fulfilled my Asian soup craving. I had their shrimp tempura udon soup with mixed veggies and for about $7, it's not a bad deal at all. The container it comes in is a decent size and you have the option to add whichever veggies you like, I had bean sprouts, carrots, spinach, & mushrooms. I wasn't really expecting much from the soup, to be honest, but I was pleasantly surprised at how good it was. It's a great lunch portion and the soup is piping hot and delicious. Next time I go, I'll either opt for their ramen soup or maybe I'll be adventurous and opt for their hot buffet.

Plaza deli is one of my favorite spots because they have an amazing selection of healthy options in their salad bar. The reason why I gave this place three stars is because the cashiers have really bad attitudes and rush you, like they're in a competition to see who can cash out the most people in a day.

I've worked in FiDI a long time and this is by far my favorite lunch option down there. My go to is the Pesto Panini (seriously so good) but have tried other things from there like the chicken fajita panini, turkey/ham sandwich combos and breakfast sandwiches and everything is delicious. I haven't tried any of the buffet options but it always looks well maintained and clean.

I work across the street and basically spend my entire paycheck here. Friendly people. So many choices of cashiers to flirt with. Great breakfast sandwiches. Lunch sandwiches are fun. Typical average hot deli food. The $2.95 already-prepared fruit salad is a bargain. I unfortunately don't have enough of a coffee taste knowledge to know if this coffee is good. But it is often fresh-brewed. I believe that they do deliveries as well.

This is my spot right here for Lunch. Five stars for the FRIED CHICKEN!!!. If you are in the mood for some good Souther Fried Chicken - this is the place. Their hot buffet is very good - including the salad bar..... Every thing is good here. I would definitely recommend this place for lunch. Happy Eating!

I go out of my way to hit this deli up all the time. I never hit up the massive hot food buffet bc I don't mess with food sitting in public, but Their grilled chicken cutlet is delicious. Grab it hot and fresh around 10:30am and get yourself a chicken cutlet hero w/ lettuce onions and mayo to be a happy, formerly hungry NYer.

I'm here all the time. It's sliiightly cheaper than most salad bars in the area ($6.50/lb) and has a nice big seating area, plus outdoor tables during warm months. Cleanish space. Free water. This spring, they added a Korean food station - bibimbap, udon soups, Korean ramyun, teriyaki. Ranges between $5.50 for a veggie udon soup (perfect cheap winter lunch!) and $10 for a bibimbap (that, to be fair, looks delicious). The only other place in the area I'm aware of with bibimbap is Soma by Nature on William. Beware: Plaza Deli's hot bar fried chicken is dry and awful! And the hot bar in general is MUCH SALTIER than other places. And their burger is terrible. ...I guess avoid most things except the cold bar, soups, and Korean food, and you should be dandy. No minimum for credit.

This place is amazing. I've never wrote a review and felt obligated after eating here. The back deli has an array of sandwiches and breakfast options and there is a hot and cold buffet on the side. 10/10 would got again

Dunno if I caught them on an off day, but their bagel sandwich was really bad. Crappy bagel, overdone sausage. Gave it 2 stars because their lunch has to be better than breakfast. Stay away in the AM.

Our company usually caters lunch from this place twice a month, and the quality of the subs/sandwiches are outstanding. The bready is chewy and flavored nicely. The quality of the sandwich meats are close to that of a carving board, rather than a processed slimy piece of meat that you might find at some other sandwich joints. 5 stars on the potato salad! It's not too mayo-ish like most other places, and the potatos come in nice big chunks. Highly recommend this place for catering or lunch meetings with clients.

If you're indecisive about what you want to eat, this place is either the best thing that happened to you, or a huge mistake. There are a lot of selections, and while a lot of the food is similar from day to day, there is a good variety. I've been to plenty of buffet places like this where almost everything has similar ingredients or a similar preparation. What if I don't want everything fried? Plaza Deli hits the nail on the head with their selections. There are pre-made sandwiches and salads, or you can order one made from scratch. They're of a good size and always delicious. Then, after you order, you have to be enticed by the large selection of candy. Haribo gummies? Check. Hi-Chew? Check. US and UK chocolates? Check. Once you're done, chances are your food won't tip the scales over $10. I've managed to do so, but rarely and it's usually when I load up on food with bones like ribs or chicken. By the way, don't do that! Don't pay for the weight of things you can't eat. Go with boneless meats + veggies and win.

I go here pretty often for the salad bar and convenient location, it's pretty consistent. The chicken in the hot bar is almost always pink so be careful! But the food is usually decent. The sandwiches from the deli are very good too!

Huge buffet with pretty good food. Deli counter with decent sandwiches. Pre-made stuff if you're in a hurry. Korean candies and wasabi peas at the checkout. $6-$7 for a good sized lunch. Debit/Credit cards accepted with no minimum. Works for me!

I love, love, love buffets with different selections that dont cost 7.00 a pound. It's hard to find in nyc. True, the food does tends to be the same 30 dishes put out each time, and it's true, the lights may burn your hand if you get too maneuvery. And after a specific hour you most certainly do not have the same buffet options. BUT, 1) buffets like this cater deliciously to my tongue's A.D.D, and it's really always fresh and well made. And much cheaper than other alternatives. I usually get a heaping conglomerate of 10 or 11 different things and it always comes out to under 10$. Hit up mad nutrition points, yo. 2) Their fruit seems to hit the spot each time. 3) They have like a wall of coffee machines. Raspberry chocolate flavored? What? 4) The guy behind the sandwich counter only gave me ONE mild look of confusion when I ordered a ridiculous sandwich. I think it was their tuna with egg special, and I asked for that with bacon and lots of black pepper and did they have honey to put into my sandwich? (They didn't, but they did have a teddy bear bottle, which I bought. The sandwich was really wierd, but my taste buds were pretty satisfied.) So thank you.

I really loved Plaza Deli at one point in time, I really did. I lived upstairs and knew that when I got home from partying at 5am, that Plaza Deli would still be open and I could get my Haribo candy and a bottle of water and call it a night. That was, until, there was some really sharp unidentified plastic object in my Greek yogurt (the kind they pack themselves, near the refrigerated cases). That was really alarming. I have vowed not to go back, no matter how badly I want Haribo Pico Balla. They do have a huge buffet section and a sandwich bar if that's your thing. After a certain point in the day, the prices on the sandwiches decrease. It's also less expensive than some of the other lunch options in the Financial District.

Good selection in buffet, but if you go there all the time, you might get tired of seeing the same thing over and over again. Be careful when trying to get food, the light will burn you if you touch it! They try to change up the soups as well, and they have a good soup + half sandwich special that is good enough for lunchtime- portion and price ($5.95 + tax) Their pre-made sushi selection seems alright too, fresh enough considering it is already packaged. Wish they had more indoor seating.

Besides being extremely overpriced, the people who work behind the counter have an attitude! They get upset if you don't order fast, they don't offer you options and they're very dry towards the customer. It's annoying how you can't walk around the deli, you know checking for options and the cashier is staring at you as if you were gonna steal something. Waste of time.

Great place for breakfast - Rick really makes it an experience: "Dameee un bacon, egg, and cheese....ON A ROLL!" Go with the bacon, egg, cheese, and onions on a croissant (perfect after a hard night out). They have a self serve coffee area with 5-6 different kinds of coffee. Lunch is good for a quick sandwich (they have a huge diverse buffet area, but I've never tried it - maybe one day I'll summon the courage).

I was here on a weekday night (9pm) and noticed staff setting out freshly cooked food. I returned after my gym workout (10pm) and found them emptying that same food into garbage bags. Usually most buffets have what I believe is a negligible amount of food. But their buffet looks like it is ready for the lunch hour rush in the late evening. You would think that with rising food costs these people would take inventory at the end of the night and realize how much food is being wasted and adjust their estimates for the next day. I spoke to the night manager about it and he simply shrugged his shoulders. What shocked me even more was he was Korean and did not know about the North Korean famine in the late 1990s where it is estimated almost a million people died from hunger. They should offer a discount after the lunch rush so they can recover some of their sunk costs. What sort of backwards thinking is this and how do these people stay in business?

I like this place and I live on the block. I hope the new 7-11 coming in does not cramp their business. They are a good deli. I don't want to jinx myself, but their ribs are awesome. And there is decent seating. Go to this place if you can, because they had to deal with the storm and lost some business because of it.

Their food is good to eat, but they are just way too expensive. I feel if you're not buying their sandwiches you will not get your money's worth. I purchased in a small container two small stuffed shells and a little bit of salad, cost $7.50. That blew my mind. I don't care it's because they are in the financial district, they are robbing the public's bank book. Towards the end of the day like 4 or 5pm they should really drop the prices down on their food because it's just too expensive. Their prices are the down fall for this business.

I've used Plaza Deli for about 3 years for lunch deliveries to my office for business meetings. The food is typical deli-style, but they stand far above the rest of the competition by being prompt, thorough, and accurate. I highly recommend them. (Note: I always fax my order then follow up by phone just to make sure they rec'd it. After that - no worries!)

This new deli opened up in the summer of 2006 and boy does it have a selection! First, when you walk in you can't help but notice the huge buffet style to the right. Everything looks so good! I've tried the meatballs, mac n cheese, ribs, mashed potatoes, mandoo, salad (they have like 50 types), assorted pan fried fish, bbq chicken, fried chicken, roasted chicken, and i'm forgetting probably 50 other dishes. The deli is also great. Get the philly chicken cheese steak!

seeing as this place is right across the street from my office, it instantly gets a few stars for proximity. but unlike many of the other selections nearby (cough cough - europa...blech), plaza deli is actually GOOD. they have an extensive buffet set up, with hot and cold food, which all look quite tasty. I however, often opt for the sandwich bar. The actual 'deli' part, if you will. sandwiches made to order are huge and tasty, the hot grill offers a fantastic homemade veggie burger, and the salads are quite good too, and affordable. What I love about plaza deli is their selection of sandwiches to go. I often shy away from pre-wrapped lunches, but these are made fresh each day and are actually wrapped in plastic instead of sitting in a refrigerator, letting the artificial air seep into the sandwich contents (again..europa...eww). I always get 1 of 2 veggie sandwiches on 7 grain bread, stuffed to the brim with sprouts, tomatoes, avocado, and other assorted fillings, and a creamy tahini spread that is the perfect compliment. and each of these sandwiches comes with your choice of a bottle of water or a soda, at $4.50 (+tax of course). anywhere I can get a quality, healthy lunch plus drink for under $5 is a victory in my book.
