Had a fantastic meal there last weekend. Perfect relaxed atmosphere and wonderful food. Wife had the scallops which were out of this world. I got the duck which was great. Asian style but not overdone. Really quality. Local calamari app was outrageous good. Berries for dessert. Look forward to returning....and summer lasting as long as possible.

This is a nice spot in Southampton with great seafood in a pleasant setting. I had the horseradish encrusted cod, which was very tasty. The bed of mashed potatoes under the fish were excellent. I would certainly come back to The Plaza Cafe but am very interested to try other places in the Hamptons.

The first time that we went - a group of four - thought the food was tres yummy which is why the same group of four returned. While the back of the house may distill interesting dishes, the front of the house was less than par. Plae Cafe espouses to be an upscale reatsurant - for that the service should be good, better than good, excellent?! The service was very poor: 1. The waiters protrusive belly hit my head while going behind me in serving. 2. The bartendar (hostess?) came over to say hello, see how everything was - our guest was in the middle of telling us something, the hostess bartendar should have waited until she stopped speaking instead of interuppting to address us....? 3. We ordered coffee, tea and desert which were delivered while the empty wine glasses, ice tea and cocktial glasses were still on the table. We had to ask them to clear the glasses. 4. Last and certainly not least the food was delivered luke warm.

I had a Cosmo that was very weak and very expensive at $13. I also had the prosciutto wrapped shrimp for appetizer and the prosciutto that was almost invisible very lackluster My main course of $49 salmon was also very tasteless. My husband had the seafood potpie and it seems like they don't use salt-and-pepper or any seasonings and it also was very tasteless We went there because of the yelp reviews but I must say even at two stars it's overrated

I started going to the Paza Cafe this summer! I am ashamed it took me this long to write a review because the food is amazing. The Plaza Cafe is my favorite restaurant. I crave the calamari appetizer and I am surprised everytime I finish a delicious special . However to me everything on the menu is a special. All of the employees make your dining experience so enjoyable and knowledgable . I learn so much about food, origin, and preparation. If you haven't had the Plaza cafe yet; go now!!! Experience this gem in Southampton and you will be hooked too!

Just enjoyed a wonderful dinner at Plaza Cafe. We opted for the prix fixe which is probably one of the finest on the East End. Started with seafood soup, field green salad with grilled local peaches, shrimp wrapped in prosciutto served over mushroom risotto . Entree choices include cod, steak, roasted chicken and penne with shrimp....all fabulous. Plus delicious desserts of cream brûlée, apple cake with vanilla ice cream. It does get noisy when it fills up, but tune it out and enjoy the fabulous food and wonderful service. A gem! Dined here again on Sept.7. Brought some new people who loved it! I had the flatiron steak with delicious mushroom polenta, another had the chicken and two enjoyed the penne with shrimp. All delicious, as were shrimp wrapped in prosciutto over risotto apps. Desserts also excellent! Only reservation was size of a glass of wine-red or white. Very scant. Don't mind paying, but give me a decent size glass of wine...not 1/4 of a glass! Returned to Plaza on 7/6. Overpriced, hot, noisy and totally indifferent service. Won't be back any time soon.

Plaza is a nicely decorated extablishment serving excellent food. The staff is friendly and efficient. We have visited 3 or 4 times and have never been disappointed. A true 4 star experience.

Plaza cafe was really nice place in the Southampton area. It was adult night out (Kids had a great babysitter) and the dinner was really tasty. I had the duck 3 ways. It was delicious. I never knew you can make duck in that fashion. The wine was a great compliment and it was just a great ambiance. This is what I expected Hamptons to be. I guess 8 asians walking into a Hamptons restaurant is an odd sight because we got a lot of stares. But it was a great anyway. Focusing on the food and ambiance.

Dined here with my husband tonight. Great food, great service, attentive staff. We are local Hamptonites and foodies. This is one place we love to dine after the crowds have left, at the end of the season. We have seen and eaten in many restaurants that have come and gone out here through the years: Good and bad. This remains a favorite. Bad part? Expensive. But they offer an incredibly reasonable prix fix which is why we are able to enjoy some of this wonderful chef's creations. Delicious.

My husband and I have eaten a number of times at the Plaza Cafe and other great restaurants, but we believe that the Plaza Cafe is definitely the best restaurant in the Hamptons. The room is lovely with a great bar and working fireplace. It has a feeling of slight elegance but remains completely comfortable The wine list is diverse with some excellent moderately priced wines. The service far exceeds any other Hamptons restaurant, and is professional yet comfortable. But it is the food that is consistently fabulous and keeps drawing us back. Their specialty is really fresh sea food, but the menu has numerous offerings, all prepared with great care, looking beautiful and tasting even better. My favorites are the crab tien appetizer and the seafood Shepard's pie, a delicacy packed with shrimp, chunks of lobster and scallops in mashed potatoes. Other favorites are the lobster corn chowder, the seafood napoleon, the swordfish. There is really nothing on the menu that disappoints. We both highly recommend the Plaza Cafe. Barbara G.

Went there a few nights ago and was a little underwhelmed I guess my expectations where to high. Me and my bf ordered the shrimp wrapped over risotto and it was a little bland and shrimp was a little over cooked. Then has the pea soup with scallops which the scallops were cooked perfect but still felt a little lacking in flavor. My bf ordered the monkfish wrapped in bacon on top of pea purée which he enjoyed but I thought was overcooked. I had one of the specials the cod with honey and soy sauce glaze over a edamame purée and accompanied by one ramp. I was a little shocked they even bothered putting the one tiny ramp on the plate it was odd and even though the cod which was cooked amazingly was crazy overpowered by the honey it was way to sweet. But that edamame purée I could eat over and over it was awesome. We got the chocolate cake for dessert which tasted like any old chocolate moose cake and the crepe brûlée which was nothing special either wasn't a bad meal but didn't think it was worth all the money.

We had high expectations from the reviews and the "27" in Zagat for food but it didn't live up to our hopes. The menu is very ambitious with some bold attempts to offer creative dishes. Overall, however, the execution was lacking. We started with the tuna and crab tian. This dish was very tasty and both the tuna and crab were nice and fresh. The lemon lime vinaigrette was also complimentary and not overpowering. The name is misleading, however, as a "tian" will usually include "fanned" mixed vegetables in some fashion. This was more of a tuna and crab "mold". Next we tried the Smoked Salmon Napoleon. The salmon was fresh but the pieces were too thickly shaved. Meanwhile, the pea pancake was soggy and thick. It made the whole dish too dense and the heavy. For an entree, we had the Bacon Wrapped Monkfish with Lobster. I was really looking forward to this but was sorely disappointed. Overall, it was was simply bland. The bacon was undercooked and the monkfish was tough to cut, making the dish unwieldy. The seared scallop appetizer as nicely cooked and very fresh but the scallops had not been rinsed properly and had traces of sand. For dessert we tried and Strawberry Rhubarb crisp which was good but was a bit too little, too late.

I have to say, I thought this place was great. We dined here last night and thoroughly enjoyed both the food and the. Service. None of our party of 6 had a bad experience and we all come away saying that we'd all enjoyed a fantastic meal. I had the shrimp tempura to start and then the monk fish wrapped in bacon, both were excellent. Would definitely eat here again.

I'm surprised that Plaza Cafe doesn't have higher reviews than this. The food was fresh, the wine was good, and the ambiance was relaxing, especially with the live jazz playing throughout this homey restaurant. I started with the calamari which was grilled to perfection. I've never had calamari and hummus on the same plate but Plaza Cafe pulled it off. It was a great balance of crunchy and soft. Then, being a seafood restaurant, I decided to get the grilled white tuna to see the quality of fish they were working with. It melted in my mouth and was balanced by the acidity of the lemon olive oil and lemon confit. I was a little bit jealous though by what my Mom ordered: the seafood "pot pie." Apparently they never really take this one off the menu because it's so popular. It was a mix of shellfish topped with chive mashed potatoes that was toasted on the top, to form a sort of crust. My god, it was shellfish heaven. And who doesn't love good, buttery potatoes on top? I really enjoyed everything about this meal. Not to mention, it was right across the street from our hotel!

What can I say that hasn't already been said about the best restaurant on the East End of Long Island and all of Long Island? I have been coming to this location for many years. I have NEVER been disappointed with service, the staff is friendly, professional and make you feel welcome, as if coming into their home. I dined with a very good friend and we started with a bottle of Mahoney Pinot Noir that was so smooth and flavorful. Moving onto the appetizer, the seafood chowder caught my eye and I was very happy I made this choice. It was full of meat and had a wonderful hint of spice that left me wanting to lick the bowl. For my main course, I was treated to Farafalle with Gulf shrimp in a lightly creamy white sauce with peas and prosciutto. Another case of wanting to lick the bowl, but unfortunately decorum won out...damn. The chef/owner came out to the floor several times and spoke with customers. He truly seemed to care about our experience and you could tell he cares about his livelihood. Do not pass up this location. You will not be disappointed.

Dropped in Friday night at the last minute, initially lured in by the menu offerings with hopes of getting the prixe fix. Unfortunately, the prixe fix is offered only certain periods of the week/season but the food was amazing and priced appropriately. I sampled a medley of apps for a meal: the prosciutto wrapped shrimp with risotto was incredible - I could eat the risotto as an entire meal, the tuna and crab tian was excellent, and I finished with a special app Plaza cafe was offering: an asian inspired tempura fried soft shell crab. I always order a soft shell crab and always regret my decision to do so but I was not let down here, by far the best soft shell crab I've ever had - perfectly prepared. Additional positives are offerings of quartinos of wine and an excellent digestif list, I lept for an exquisite grappa and was not disappointed.

The food is spectacular the staff is great and the owner Doug is down to earth and says it like it is (Gotta Love It). Probably the best food in Southampton. However, the service staff could use a refresher course. My female server moved my water glass by putting her hand over the top of my glass and touching all of her fingers to the lip. Also, she reached her arm directly over my appetizer that I was eating directly in front of me (she was on my left and reached over my appetizer to place a spoon to the right of my appetizer!). When you are paying a premium price for exquisite food, these service errors are totally unacceptable.

Had dinner here this evening with my wife and another couple. We took advantage of the prix fix for $35. The food was very very good but the service was bad. My wife and I arrived first and ordered cocktails. Our friends arrived as our drinks arrived and so they ordered drinks too. When the waitress returned with their beverages we were ready to order - partly because of the time waiting for the drinks, partly because the prix fix menu is limited. Our friend ordered a soda and an iced tea so it shouldn't have taken so long to get those. When our appetizers arrived I ordered a soda which also took forever to arrive. I asked our waitress about it and she said she was waiting for it to come from the bartender. The bar was quiet and the restaurant was only half full..Our main course and my soda arrived. The soda was mostly ice so I finished it pretty quickly. After a few failed attempts to get our waitress attention I finally flagged down someone else and ordered another soda as did one of our friends. Our sodas never arrived. I ordered a coffee to go with my dessert and despite delaying eating my dessert and eating it slowly I was finished with it before my coffee arrived. The restaurant was full but there seemed to be plenty of staff so I'm not sure why or waitress was unable to handle all of her customers properly. I also don't like that I had to order dessert while ordering my meal - something the waitress said we had to do because of the prix fix. I find that hard to believe. The other surprise was the total bill given that we had the prix fix. Turns out the sodas were $4.50 each as were the coffee and tea and the iced tea was $6! We will probably give this place another shot because the food was so good but if the service is again slow we will not return. If the service is better I'll update this review.

No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions.
