Been here multiple times and I have never had a bad experience. The staff, especially all the bartenders (the "diva" looking one can't keep a clean bar to save her life, however) are very good. Food is very underrated here but, in my opinion, for the prices, I think the steaks (especially the filet) are excellent. Also a big fan of the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich. Not the spiciest of buffalo sauce but more on the tangy side which makes it a nice change of pace. Really can't go wrong here for a nice meal. While I'm thinking, the Sangrias are also very tasty and worth trying as are the desserts (I recommend the Salty Caramel Cookie?). Also want to throw a shout out tot he management there who seem to be on top of everything and doing table checks.

Went here for dinner tonight and was blown away by the amazing service and friendly staff. The food was great! They really did a nice job renovating the restaurant and bar looks very nice. My porterhouse steak with blue cheese crumbles was delicious!!! My son loved his burger too. The bloomin onion appetizer is always good. I have to say the manager really goes over and beyond for Veterans and that means a lot. Definitely will be back soon very pleased with my dinner and the service !!!! Thank you!

Amazing restaurant was looking to eat some ribs or a steak. So I ended up at Outback steak house ordering ribs with mash potatoes that was out this world. Staff was active with us as well as the other tables the waiter had. The food came out hot, quick, and prepared correctly I enjoyed every bite I took can't wait till my next visit.

Outback used to be a great restaurant. Used to Be. Over the last 10 years or so, the prices have gone up, but the quality and portion sizes have gone down. Most recently, I ordered the a Pork Chops. Well, they were actually very good, cooked nicely, flavorful, and a fair price. My issue: A pork chop is not a .3 of an inch. They should be called pork cutlets. I have had them twice now and again good, but not chops. I used to get the 12 oz. Outback Special, but quality has gone down, never cooked right, and they charge $19.00 it was $14.99 only a couple of years ago and to go up 25% in 2 years is insane. Also, baked potatoes are heavily salted unless you request no salt.

Tom! Best waiter and awesome guy! He's also a bartender so get your libation on! Never a bad experience here. The one in Post Jefferson is a hot mess but this place rocks!

Went on a Sunday night around 6 with three other people and we were seated within 15 mins. Our waiter was a young guy, very pleasant, he was quick with all our drinks and order. The food was great! I had the New York strip done medium and it was perfect. The seasonings was a little too salty, I would order it next time without the seasonings. Had garlic mashed potatoes, they were good but a little salty like most places in this Catagory. TGIF, APPLEEBEES, etc.. Overall, a great place to go for a really good dinner and get seated pretty quickly on a weekend night. Will go back again.

Last 3 times here steak had to be sent back. Steak should not be 75% fat. 3rd time was last and final time.

My 6 year old loves steak... We eat everywhere ... This is his favorite "chain" steak place... I love all kinds of food so fits my needs... My brother is celiac so he has a special diet and out back has a special menu... Waitstaff was very knowledgeable about everything on the menu.... Only problem is the long wait even when you call ahead... But they do offer drinks and appetizers

Not much to say it's dirty and the services and food is a hit and a miss the drinks sent to bad its good to help you forget about the food for a bit

Waited over an hour to be seated the food was mediocre at best and the service was rude and nasty. Gave it a few tries for a bite to eat after work with the crew but We will never go here again.

This place is good for a basic steakhouse. They were kind enough to make a custom order of steak house salad but it had very little dressing. The waitress was so busy I could not get her attention for more. My family members seemed to be pleased with their food. They got the Parmesan crusted chicken and prime rib. It seems that every time we go there is a 45 minute wait. The only thing I just can't get over is how slippery the floors are. It may be their wax but I have to grip my way to the table every time.

  • Peggy K.

The food was not very edible, the bloomin onion was burnt and the clam chowder was way to chewy and spicy. The service was dull and the bread stale.. I used to love coming here, but it's really gone down the tubes

Oh Outback, how I love thee. This chain restaurant provides meals that have that quality taste to them, as if your mom just cooked them at home. DECOR: Wood tables and chairs, dim lighting. Casual feel to the place. FOOD: Ugh their food is so good. Especially compared to an Applebees type chain restaurant. Definitely a step up. Food is much better quality than your average chain. They bring out a little loaf of some sort of dark brown bread and butter before you order, and that bread is very tasty! I always order the coconut shrimp appetizer (you get like 8 giant shrimps!) and the cheese fries are pretty good too (comes with a spicy ranch dip). My go to entree is usually the wood-fire grilled pork chop. Comes with mashed potatoes and green beans (but their broccoli is so good, I ask for those instead of green beans). Caesar salad there is a tasty little treat, I suggest getting a side one of those with your meal. Burgers here are pretty decent too, nice flavor and good quality meat. SERVICE: Usually average/friendly service. Can get packed on a weekend evening so make sure you prepare for that.

As good as outback gets. The wait staff very attentive, food came out quickly, fresh and cooked as ordered. Came here after leaving the setauket outback due to lack of service and glad we did. Whenever in the mood for outback, will drive the extra 10 minutes to go to this well run one.

I live in Holbrook and never to this location any more. They never cook the steaks properly. If you order medium you will get rare. If you order medium well you get burnt to a crisp. I prefer the Commack location near the good steer.

Went there around 10 pm and it was pretty quiet in there.. Ordered their onion rings. It was all burnt. Had some clam chowder soup. It was alright.

We are here for drinks and appetizers. Tap beers here are only Sam Summer Ale, Sam's Boston Larger, Bluepoint Blueberry, Fosters, Bud and Bud Light. Just got the wings and the grilled chicken and artichoke and spinach on flat bread. It was all appetizers tonight. We then got a dressed potato and the white bean and sausage soup. Wings - 2 stars Flat bread - 4 stars Baked potato - 3 stars Soup - 4 stars. They forgot to put our order in and we eventually got it. I had to ask them to check on our order. Probably an anomaly but it happened so the score reflects it. They did give us a free beer.

From a fake down under... Outback is actually one of the better chains in my opinion, but you can forget finding anything Aussie here - except maybe Foster's beer and that is a stretch. We were looking for some cocktails and for whatever reason everything in this area was slammed so we decided to try our luck in Outback. There were a couple of seats at the bar but the tables were slammed- so the bar it was. We ordered up some drinks from the interesting bartender - she was sort of an odd duck and seemed to be either totally interested in people at the bar or off in the corner ignoring everyone. We were able to score two drinks and she went away again, which oddly enough works because we started to get the need for munchies. Not wanting entire meals, we went with a few different apps and another round and had a grand old time laughing about life and the screwy people we know. The apps were all very good- we were trying to be healthy so w went with green beans, sweet potatoes and something else equally healthy - but I forgot what it was. Everything was fine and we eventually rolled out of there after cocktail #3. The downside of all this was that strange bartender sort of lost track of us and our simple order didn't materialize for a while- in fact others who came after us got their food first and she wasn't catching on - so I had to jog her memory. Normally this would drive me batshit crazy but we were talking and we weren't starving. I still have to knock off a star though as the bar area was just not that busy and the bartender should have noticed what was going on. Overall I would go again if I knew that this particular bartender wasn't on - just to see how it fared. Parking in front.

Save yourself some money and go to Chili's!! Myself and 9 or 10 of my family members went here tonight for dinner. Lamb chops were the complete opposite of tender, and the medium rare burger looked like it was literally thrown on the grill for 1 minute on each side. The burger was so raw I had to take a picture and post it on Instagram for laughs. What a joke!! I hope to God they find a new chef other wise this restaurant is in for a rude awakening. GO TO CHILI'S!!! Better food and cheaper prices! The service was good tho..

Outback Steakhouse is just turrrrible. The best thing they've got going are the beverages. I had a watermelon cooler that was simply divine. All the food here tastes like it belongs in those microwavable box meals, for one. This has nothing to do with location either. I have never had good food at ANY Outback Steakhouse. So fortunate that I don't live in one of those hick towns where restaurant chains like Outback Steakhouse are the only available dining choices.

Went out with a few friends and one girl ordered the salmon with mashed potatoes - THERE WAS GLASS IN HER POTATOES. A big piece that she bit down on and could've easily cracked her tooth. Granted we didn't have to pay for our meal, but the manager was making it very awkward in helping the situation and didn't do much to make it better. The table behind us also had problems with there meal and were complaining all night. If you need to go to Outback go to the one is Stony Brook.

Our server Shannon I think her name was, was awesome. She made a mistake, corrected it, made sure the manager visited our table and was just an all around good server. I ordered the prime dip sandwich or something like that. It was the first time I got anything besides a steak or prime rib from Outback. It was very dry, would not recommend it. The rest of our food was good though.

So, we went here for dinner the other night because we had a gift card. We usually don't do chain restaurants anymore we have been so disappointed in the food and service. However, we had the opposite experience at this location. Service - A+ Our server's name was Matt T. (At least that is what was on our receipt). He was outstanding!! Our drinks were refilled before we could even ask and before we even knew they were empty. Our plates were cleared efficiently and most of all he was friendly and fun! With service like that - he should be a manager of the servers. ;) Great job! Food - B The bread is always delicious at Outback and the salads were great. I had the tangy tomato dressing, which is sweet and spicy. My fiancee had the wedge salad with a blue cheese dressing that was great. We ordered the chicken quesadilla appetizer (small order - which was more than enough). The quesadilla was a little greasy to be honest, but was ok. We both ordered Victoria Filet - mine medium rare and his medium well. This is my biggest complaint when coming to the outback - the steaks are not always cooked perfectly. But then again, it's a $20 filet from the outback ... how picky can you get? Mine was VERY rare ... mostly red with little pink. The flavor was excellent, however. Dale's filet didn't even look like a filet - it looked like a thin skirt steak because it was so well done. I thought they may have butterflied it because it was so thin, however, they did not. I told him he should ask about it because it didn't look like a filet and it was so well done. He said it tasted good and he likes well done anyway. Our baked potatoes were delicious and my side of coconut shrimp is always a favorite of mine. ;) We skipped dessert. Atmosphere - A This is a much more modern Outback than any I have been in before. The booths were large and comfy. The waiting area had some nice lemon water for us and a comfy booth to sit on. We will definitely come back to this location when we are in the mood for something cheap, quick, and relaxed. Thanks, Matt T for a nice night out.

I was at outback the other night and it was a long wait , but while we were waiting they kept bringing samples of wings and shots. I didn't mind the wait as much and thought this was really good business's! I would definitely wait again

I'm that asshole. Yes, that asshole that shows up with her boyfriend 20 minutes before closing and expects to be served. Luckily, they did seat us at 9:40. The hostess seemed less than pleased with this but she wasn't the one getting the tip... Our waitress was super nice and fast at taking our orders. They ran out of the 12 oz. prime rib but that was to be expected considering what time it was. We switched the order to something else and the food was decent. The grilled chicken was good, the steak was great, the soup was cold till you hit the center then it was an explosion of warmth. Overall, good service and decent food.

Never had a bad experience here. Sometimes a wait but food has always been good (steaks cooked to order and tasty sides) and the servers have always been very attentive and friendly. Their drinks are mixed well. Good place to stop for one. Look forward to going back soon.

Just your plain old Outback. Inconsistent food quality and taste, the usual order malfunction, and idiot server. But hey the food is good and the kids love going. We mostly get take-out from here which is even worse with the consistency. If they tell you 20 mins, leave your hose 30-40 mins later. There have been times that I have waited 40-60. Mins in my car for food. If u can overlook a poorly trained staff and ZERO consistency than enjoy yourself here.

Mediocre food & service is a joke but Hey, but us fat Americans gotta' eat right? Wrong, not like this people, not like this. Overcooking steak to that point and then throwing it on a plate, is just insane. Slow service, botched orders, not loving it.

What is there to say, we all love this place. I've been here with at least a dozen different people, they all say the same thing, awesome! If you don't like seasonings on your steak, make sure to tell them when you order.

Location not near a hotel, mall, or rest stop so you wonder what is an Outback doing in a residential area? It does get busy and there is a dinner wait on weekends and I equate this with the quality. The place does it right for a family restaurant and is consistent! They give you straws and extra napkins without asking, and they pay attention to the table's needs. Aside, A bit expensive or light on the pour of the mixed drinks, (but I guess so do they all?) The Onion Soup has a good smelly cheese which is excellent. I equate the experience as the best franchize dinner option around being very well managed it is consistant with great service

Conveniently located off the LIE near Mamma L's & Lombardi's Market, not a bad spot if your expectations are gauged accordingly. Accompanied another redeeming their free steak promo here and my side was alright; just make sure you don't research the 'nutrition' info before or after the 'meal'. 10.2011 update: I joined a carnivore who redeemed her coupon for a 'free steak dinner' (a 6 oz wood-grilled sirloin with one side, or $8.99 toward another item) and found the ambiance pretty stale. The carrot cake I tided myself over with was awful and overly cold (nearly frozen). The bread was mushy, at best, but the staff meant well, albeit being a bit overzealous and slightly annoying. They undercooked the accomplice's steak (quite a bit) and when it re-emerged, the friendly manager delivered it, which was a decent (albeit expected) touch. I was told the steak and salad weren't bad, but it really didn't hit the mark at all otherwise.

I have been here a couple of times with my family since it is very close to my house. The staff is very friendly. It is just like any other Outback. Same menu, same decor, and same type of seating. Of course you can go to a high end steak house and eat a lot better food then here but if you want decent food at a good price this is the place for you. I personally enjoy their french onion soup. It is extra cheesy and hits the spot. I also like the blooming onion. Whenever I go here I usually get the 6oz outback special for $9.99. It is 6oz fillet and two sides. I usually get a backed potato and some rice. The food comes out quick and you are never waiting to long. My only problem is that they never cook the steak correctly. I like my steak a medium rare but it always comes out rare. I mean still cold in the center. However I never say anything because I do once in a while like my meat very rare.

So, we went here on a Thursday evening around 7:30pm, thinking there might be a wait (because usually there is), but to our surprise, the parking lot was pretty empty. We were happy about that because I was in the mood for a steak. The "door gal" who is supposed to be opening the door for you when you arrive, was twirling her hair and leaning/blocking the door instead. We opened the other door ourselves and she didn't budge LOL. We were seated right away and our booth seats were filthy. There were fries on the seats and all over the floor under the table. It was gross. We asked for it to be cleaned and stood there waiting like fools. NO ONE came, so we wiped the seats off ourselves with the napkins. The waitress came over before we opened our menus and asked us if we wanted appetizers.....she didn't care that we were waiting for someone to clean our seats or that we hadn't even glimpsed at our menu's yet, she just seemed annoyed in general. Besides, can't we get our drinks before our appetizers? We decided to just order dinner. I ordered the 9oz sirloin medium rare with a baked potato and a salad. My company ordered the pork tenderloin dinner with the vegetable medly. While we were waiting for our meals, all THREE, (yes I said THREE), tables around us asked to speak to a manager. One table was to complain that her alcoholic beverage was a mix from a bottle, as opposed to made from scratch. The manager said it was made from scratch, only to come back from the bar a minute later to admit he was wrong and said it was a mix. No one knew but the bartender. Another table said his steak was full of fat and unable to be eaten. The manager offered to bring him another steak of the same kind and the customer passed, and opted to finish his daughters mac and cheese instead LOL The table right behind us complained of something IN their food. I did not hear what it was, but they were comped desserts. My salad came and the tomato vinegrette was good. The dinners came and my company's dinner was good, he said. Mine however was also not edible. The cut of sirloin was beautiful, however improperly cooked. I ordered medium rare and got STILL MOVING on the plate. It was not even close to medium rare. The waitress DID not come over to check on us, so I flagged down the manager myself and he said that this is how they do medium rare at Outback. I said that it was ridiculous and he didn't offer me a new steak, he just offered to cook mine a little more; which is fine, as long as it was not going in the microwave. When it came back 10 minutes later, it was now medium-well. My company was done eating and I just wanted out of there, so I ate the rest of my not moving anymore, cow and we left. I see now why the parking lot was almost empty. The service was horrible, the manager barely spoke english and the food was lacking, probably because of an underpaid, inexperienced chef. A shame, we used to like this place a lot.....

I went to Outback a ton of times before and enjoyed my meals there. Last night I went there and was extremely pleased with the food i ordered. I got a 6oz sirloin steak crusted with blue cheese (awesome by the way), 3 grilled shrimp, garlic mashed potatoes and steamed veggies. It was definitely the best meal I've eaten there by far. The only thing that annoys me when I'm there is the wait staff usually comes by too often and asks if I am finished, so i feel a little rushed. But all in all this place has never failed me...always good! The prices are very reasonable!
