My entire family and extended family have gone to Longobardi's since it opened and LOVE this place. I am Italian and cook Italian, so I will not go out for Italian unless the food is great. The food here is excellent -the sauces : marinara, vodka, marsala, etc. The seafood and meat always fresh and tender. The Pizza is awesome. All of the ingredients are quality. I have even catered from here for large parties and all my guests love the food and have made Longobardi's their restaurant of choice. The place is often VERY busy, so you may have to wait a little, as you would at any popular restaurant . Claudio and team are friendly and welcoming ever time any member of our family or friends show up. They have done extensive remodeling and expanded over the past couple of years . They can accommodate more people, more celebration parties and do it in an updated beautiful setting. Maybe the bad review came while the business was transitioning. Give it (another) try . Please just communicate your needs with your server. Most of them (Maria, etc) are there for years and truly only want to please you. This is a family run business and they take great pride in everything they do.

It is quite disappointing how low I have to rate this "restaurant". As a former waiter for over a decade, not only was the food terrible, the service was even worse. As part of a party over 20, the waitress was only present for 3 events. These were ordering drinks (which was prompt), ordering appetizers (maybe an hour after we sat), and ordering entrees. Appetizers were served perhaps 40 minutes after ordering, and entrees around 8:30 (around 2 hours after the scheduled arrival time). Once the appetizers arrived is where things took a turn for the worse. As a larger party, one would think (since an 18% service charge is included) that the waitstaff would check in and ask if anyone needed anything, how the food was, or if anyone needed a drink. This was NEVER the case here. More than twenty people sat with empty glasses, and dirty plates. For example, by the time one party member managed to flag someone down for a knife for his calzone, the rest of the party was being cleared. When he finally got his knife the staff was finally present to remove everyone else's plates. Let me reiterate, no one could ever order anything other than their original order. This was because no staff was available for such requests. I should also mention the 18 month old child that was served last, when everyone else received their dinners. Ever restaurant (should) know that young children should be served first. Everyone was waiting to eat while the 18 month old waited for a slice of pizza with congealed cheese and a lazily sliced meatball which was tossed on top. When dinner was finally winding down, the waitstaff inappropriately cleared everyone's dishes while many were still eating, and rushed to bring a cake out. Not only was the food abominable, but the service was even worse. Not once did anyone get asked for more water, drinks, or how their food was. My review is a warning. If you would rather have food flooded with marinara, borderline store-bought soup, and the the worst service you can imagine, than this should serve as a warning. This plaza eatery is a joke and the service is even worse. If you are planning a meal for a loved one, please do yourselves and your family a favor and avoid this so-called Italian food. You would be better off ordering generic pizza takeout. Of the many restaurants I have worked at or visited, I can say this one had the worst service I have ever experienced. Just to give a time frame....Guests arrived at 6:30.....Dessert was possibly served around 9:30.

Live in NYC and love pizza. LBs is one of my hometown favorites. Come on for a huge slice or their amazing fra diavolo sauce. For the adventurous, get the tripe pasta with fra diavolo sauce. Delicious.

If you are thinking about trying this place do not let the negative reviews stop you! The food here is great. I've been here before for business related events and decided to have dinner here. I had the Veal Marsala with veggies and soup and enjoyed it immensely! My son had a mini pizza and didn't stop raving about the size and then the taste of the pizza! He has plans to come back with his friends just for the pizza. The calamari appetizer was delicious! It was cooked perfectly and the marinara sauce which I'm believe is homemade is delish! My only regret is that I didn't take pictures to post. Only 4 stars because of the service.. Our server was very pleasant and answered any questions we had however she was a bit slow when it came to refilling our drinks and water. But other than that I would recommend going here for dinner. It appear busier on the weekends to go during the week. Family friendly atmosphere so while it's a nice place for a date be aware you might be next to some families. Full bar in a sectioned off area if you don't want to see small children though :).

I went for a special evening sponsored by a pharmc. rep. Normally these evening, they give you a condensed meu of three items to choose from (the regular chicken-beef-fish option) but it blew me away that this night...we got to choose ANYTHING off the extensive menu. Hollaaa Tables were served family style apps and plenty of them-- calamari in a red sauce, stuffed mushrooms, stuffed clams, mozz sticks. Everyone also had a house salad. First course, amazing and they kept coming out so each person was able to get a helping of each app. For dinner I went all out G style and got the longobardi special of mussels in a fra d'avalo sauce and a lobster tail. I was so damn full from the apps that I took the meal home. I did scarf the drool worthy broccoli with garlic and oil tho...hotttt damnn delicious. The rib steaks were out so the chef came out to ask if a sub of filet mignon was ok... hell yeah did you need to ask?? SO beyond accomodating and the food was amazing. I actually didnt even realize this restaurant was in this little, nearly rundown plaza; yet its a hidden gem. Cannot wait to return.

This place has been here forever and is a hidden gem. 2 restaurants in one; take out pizzeria on the left, proper Italian restaurant on the right. It does not look like much from the exterior. Nested in a strip mall between Home Depot, Perkins, and a car wash; not the most romantic image of where you want to have dinner, but that is where you are wrong. The interior is dark and handsome with a remodeled bar area. This place has many "regulars" and does a good business every night of the week. The owners will make you feel like family! I have had only excellent Italian meals here. All the traditional dishes like Gnocchi, Penne ala Vodka, eggplant parm (one of my favorites!) and some interesting pasta inventions like "Chicken Longobardi" artichoke hearts with sun dried tomatoes and hot peppers. Great service, large portions, mangia mangia! The take out side has pizza, sandwiches and you can order anything on the menu. One entree will easily feed two people as take out. This is my favorite family Italian restaurant in the area. Solid!

Not what I expected, after reading the reviews.. I will give it a try again, as I do not have very good news We made a reservation to ensure our table of four When we were seated the table, it was by the main hallway door Customers coming and going to the rest rooms constantly around my seat I felt very uncomfortable, it was not at all discreet Then came the server with lots of food, on a very large tray She had to carry it over my head, I thought, that's it, for me today We did ask for another table and the owner was very kind They moved us over immediately, she certainly did not mind Waited a while for the water and a longer wait for the wine The service at this point very slow, it was taking a lot of time I then studied the lay-out, our server had more tables than the rest No one else cared to assist and to try and do their best Then came the delicious complimentary brushetta, one hot pepper and the small loaf of warm bread Thought we should have more for our group, did not ask as I figured "quit while you are ahead" The salads were crisp and fresh and I enjoyed, much to my delight Then I figured things going forward, may turn out to be just right The meals were finally delivered, two pasta dishes, shrimp francese and a pizza pie Large portions, some meals good tasting, but for the most part, did not hit the bull's eye. We asked for clams with penne, we received ziti instead Once again I figured shut up, quit while you're ahead To sum it up for this place I would say you should go there to eat If you are looking for a place to dine, this would not be a very good treat I will go back and try again It just could have been a bad night I am hoping when I return, things will be just right

I grew up with Longobardi's and the taste hasn't changed since 1994. There's nothing bad about it but there's also nothing exceptional. It has your typical Italian dishes like pizza, spaghetti, wedges, lasagna, etc. If you're in the area and you're hungry, go for it. But don't except 5 star quality.

Not a big fan of this place.....in town on business and my two coworkers had come here previously and thought it was good. Not so much on this visit....it was a Friday night and the place was busy but nobody waiting for a table to clear. Our waiter was a nice young kid, but completely unfamiliar with the menu and dishes. ( one strange thing about the entree portion of the menu was an extra 1.50 charge for baked, and extra $1.50 for ricotta ....since I chose lasagna and I was doubly confused on why they were charging me extra for something that gets baked AND has ricotta. And he replied that their lasagna doesn't have ricotta (huh? now I'm really interested in seeing what 's coming)....the bus girl came by to fill our glasses and every time she did, one of us at the table got a lap full of water. I have to say, the italian bread was excellent, crusty warm and served with butter. Not a big fan of the complimentary bruschetta plate brought out...slices of baguette bread with plain ole chopped tomato (a little salt and fresh basil maybe?) on top and a dish of plain ole olive oil in the center.......boring and no flavor at ALL. just a little fresh basil, garlic and some balsamic vinegar would have put over the top. Next up was something I was told was pasta fagioli soup. What a huge let down......open a can of Campbell's tomato soup, dump some left over spaghetti in with a few white beans and you have got the poorest excuse for soup I've seen in a while, not a vegetable in sight.....two spoonfuls was enough. My co workers ordered Chicken Parmesan, Chicken Fettuccini Alfredo and I ordered Lasagna with Meatballs. Beware....it comes with two tennis ball sized meatballs that I would say are tender but mediocre at best. Very little seasoning and not a fresh herb in sight at this place. My coworker got his Fettuccini delivered minus the chicken and a fifteen minute wait ensued.....had to flag down another waitress to look into it and a replacement bowl was delivered five minutes later with an apology that the "kitchen was very busy" .....(wow, if 3/4 full puts you behind back there, I hate to see what a full house does to the kitchen.) All in all, everybody was a little disappointed with their meals and the inexperience of the serving staff so can't say we'll be rushing back. There's GOT to be better Italian in Fishkill than this place.....so we continue the hunt for the two more weeks we're here.

Pizza Rocks! Marinara is Great! Restaurant could use a makeover, but the food is always excellent!

This place is as good as it gets. Not only is the food undoubtedly the best Italian in the area, the wait staff is unforgettable. You feel as though you made friends with your wait staff when you leave. The dishes are ridiculously huge, which means you can eat for days and you are getting your money's worth. However, this is definitely not a "quantity" over "quality" situation. Their food is fresh and delicious every time. My favorite dishes include the chicken marsala, stuffed clams, calamari with hot peppers, chicken longobardi and buffalo chicken pizza. I have been going to this restaurant for 15 years, and never once have I been disappointed. My family and I have celebrated a few milestones throughout our lives here, and now with their new party room next door, I'm sure I'll be celebrating more milestones to come!

As a previous review has said, the food has not evolved much over the past couple of decades-which is both a good and a bad thing. The gnocchi has had the same thick chopped meat red sauce, the pork chops are still made with the same slightly grilled peppers (no matter how many times over the years you ask them to 'caramelize' the onions and peppers - they never, ever will). Also, I'm not a fan of their pizza because when they add toppings on top of it, they don't take a lot of care to spread the toppings around. Once, it looked like a package of mozzarella cheese exploded from about 2 feet above the pie, and the same with a can of olives. The toppings weren't cooked into the pizza either - didn't taste bad, but if Domino's can put together a more cohesive pizza, why can't a legitimate italian restaurant? I just went there last week and got the dinner special - chicken and shrimp franchese - and while it tasted very good, it was way too expensive for the price (2 small pieces of chicken breast and 2 large shrimps). I try to avoid this place when I can because there are better places if I'm willing to drive, but if I'm not, Longobardi's will have to do.

Great pizza even when we bought just slices. The slices are huge but thin-crusted just as I like my pizza. This pizza parlor is small and casual. We will check out the sister restaurant next to it later.

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!!!! The food here is actually quite good, however I think they may have the most TERRIBLE customer service I have ever encountered. I called and placed a delivery order. I have ordered from them before quite a number of times. When the food was delivered I did not get 1 of the things I had ordered. When i called to place the order a man that didn't speak very good English answered, I told him what I would like and very quickly I realized that I was speaking with someone that wasn't getting what I was saying 100%. I had to repeat myself several times and after I had finished placing my order I asked the man for a total which he gave me. I gave him a credit card over the phone and of course he had no problem taking that down. When my food was delivered after I unpacked everything I realized one of the items was missing and considering I asked for a total I made the mistake of assuming that he had written everything down. I called them back I told them that I had not received 1 of the items that I had ordered. The man that answered the phone (who I assume is the owner) told me "Oh, I didn't charge you for it". I was annoyed to I hung up. Then my blood began to boil so I called him back because after working in customer service industry for over 10 years I couldn't believe that that was what he said to me. When I called back the same man answered the phone and I said that I was a little upset with his lack of customer service. He then said to me "I didn't know you still wanted it. I didn't charge you for it." SERIOUSLY?!?!?? Then he told me that he would have someone bring it to me but I would have to give the driver an extra $2. Why would I order something and then not want it?? Even better, why would I call you to tell you I didn't get it if I didn't want it?!?! THEN, tell me I had to give you more money!!! REALLY?!?!? He then told me that every time I call I give him a hard time. I had ordered did for a party 2 months ago and they made a mistake that time as well. If I am giving you an order for something and paying for it I expect to get what I ordered, when I ordered it since I'm paying you to do so. I will NEVER order from then ever again! Bottom line, DON'T MAKE MISTAKES AND I WON'T CALL YOU WITH COMPLAINTS!

We went in with some hesitation after reading a couple of reviews. The atmosphere is old-school. Reminds me of some of the old West Village NYC Italian restaurants. Real, authentic, home-style cooking. Good stuff. We had a few dishes, including pasta fagiloi and chicken noodle soup. The pasta fagiloi was good. I was concerned after reading a review here on yelp but we liked it. The beans were firm, so was the pasta. The flavors blended in nicely (the starch from the beans make the broth a bit creamy) The pasta was firm. Ravioli was firm and the filling tasty and light. Nice sauce, not too bitter, nor too sweet (some add sugar to balance it but this was just somewhere in the middle where I like it). The meatballs were velvety and tasty too. I'd go back in a heartbeat because it's that good. Oh, and they give so much you can't possibly eat it all in one sitting. Oh and the bruschetta was really tasty. Some places make it way to salty but this was nicely balanced. Decent bread too (hard to find these days)

We came here for a late lunch at around 2pm. We stopped by 2 other restaurants along the way and the wait was 20 - 30 minutes each at those places. We settled for here because it was in the same parking lot as another restaurant we tried and there was no wait and plenty of empty tables. When we sat down, it then hit us to ask why people would rather wait 20 minutes over there instead of walk over here? The host was quick he had the menus in hand and was ready to seat us as soon as we entered. We were given a basket of bread before we ordered. After that, things started to go downhill. I had the chicken parmagiana hero which was really nice. I liked it. The problem was the portion was huge (especially for lunch). If I knew it was that big, I would have ordered 1/2 a sandwich with soup/salad. I was not the only one that felt that way since all the other tables left with a doggy bag. My friend ordered the chicken marsala and it was luke warm. She liked the pasta it came with a lot. The food took a long time to arrive since we were the only ones that ordered. All the other tables were already eating. How did one dish become luke warm? Our server was very friendly but very slow and inattentive. She never came by to ask how we were doing until we were finished. She never refilled our drinks. I left thirsty. I did not want to wait for a refill since we had places to go. She took a long time to give us and pick up our check.
