When I lived in the neighborhood, I ordered from Mama T's at least twice a week. When I moved to Vegas - I went thru withdrawal! (I ask the owner every time I'm back to open in Very Far West New York) :) A Vails Gate Bravest is always the first thing I eat when come back to the 845 - I won't sully my palate with anything beforehand. The sandwich is even awesome cold - the last time (3 weeks ago) I had half leftover and ate it the next day and it was still good. (The hard bread mentioned in another review musta been a fluke. Never happened to me.) If you order their pasta dishes, be prepared to eat leftovers! I had a small Penne Alla Vodka once for three meals! It is pricey, but SO worth it. Their fresh mozzarella is addicting.... Buttery soft and melts in your mouth.

Right after you walk through Mama T's door, you know it's an Italian deli. Ooo that smell! This place is choc-full of Italian specialty items, featuring a hot box with pastas and the like, Boar's Head cold cuts, and boxes of bread that all look very fresh. I ordered a fried eggplant sandwich with roasted reds, mozzarella, and balsamic. Unfortunately, the attendant said they were "out" of balsamic, which seemed pretty crazy to me considering they had almost everything else you could think of, but hey, it happens. My sandwich was very good, despite the lack of my favorite dressing. The mozzarella was a standout for me, considering it was store-made and tasted very fresh. I'd definitely go back to Mama T's and try one of their more elaborate sandwiches. The menu is very, very enticing. Beware.

The food is very good but a bit pricey. Staff is pretty friendly. A good place to go out on a date or a meet up with a friend. Not the best place for groups only because the dining room is very small but all around not a bad place.

One of the best things in the area. Order a sandwich and buy an extra roll. So much meat u can have a great second one. Good hot dishes too. Catering is worth every penny. Lemon chicken is the best I've had anywhere. Great make at home selection too. Frozen stuffed pastas and refrigerated sauces/gravies. Go.

Found my sandwich spot! The sandwiches are top notch in terms of quality and taste. The prices may be a little steep for an everyday lunch spot though, I got a hero which was about $10 but can feed two people since they are truly stuffed. You can also purchase various meats, cheeses and speciality italian products from their store as well as a good looking bakery.

I grew up in New Windsor and enjoy getting a "real" Italian sub when coming into town for a family visit. In Jan when I was visiting, my sister bought subs from Mama Theresa's. I received an Italian Combo and it was the best sandwhich I ever tasted. The bread was so soft it almost melted in my mouth. This past weekend I was in town again and knew before I left I had to have one of those sandwiches again. I was dreaming of it! Well boy was I disappointed this time. Ordered the same sandwich and I could have broken a tooth on the bread. I literally was hitting the bread on the kitchen table - it was like a rock. The actual inside of the bread was just as stale stale. Please be aware that when ordering a sandwich ask if the bread is fresh or if it is 2 week old bread. I will be going to I belive it's called "Anthony's Deli" next time in town. Very disappointed :-(

The next best thing to an Arthur Ave Deli - have eaten there many times and never disappointed. Not the cheapest as far as pricing, but I've learned over the years ya get what ya pay for. Today I had the special, Italian Grilled Cheese Panini - man, it was a religious experience ! Homemade fresh mozzarella, fresh tomatoes, and pancetta, all pressed together on a garlic buttered panini. Their pizzas are outstanding too - GREAT place !

Mama's is a hometown favorite of most of the locals and for the most part is good quality for high prices. Hopefully you encounter one of the older staff members who are helpful and knowledgable, if you have the misfortune to deal with the younger staff be prepared to be bombarded by cheap cologne, small tee shirts, and arrogance. Spoiled rotten kids will sink this business for sure when the parents are retired.

You'll have to go to Brooklyn or the Bronx to find an Italian Deli as good as Mama Theresa's. As I sit here working my way through a Mama T's Combo, I only wish I had a bigger mouth. Incredibly good pasta's (the mushroom raviolis are my favorite this week...) and sauces (try Mama's Sunday Sauce... wow). I can't get there enough to make my stomach happy.

This is by far the best place to pick up sandwiches from. All the ingredients are fresh and absolutely delicious!! My favorite is the vails gate bravest but I have tried numerous other sandwiches and each one is fantastic. If you go in around lunch time it can be quite busy but it will always be worth the wait.

Excellent food, a take out favorite. Great sandwiches and calzones, big enough for two meals.

Fantastic Italian deli with very good service. It's usually crowded, a line waiting at lunch time for sure. Order a sandwich and come hungry, since they are huge and divine. I am a big fan of their buffalo wings. I order them for parties every now and then. I ordered them this summer to take to a bbq and they were hot and boxed up for me when I arrived. The blue cheese dressing is thick and chunky. They have a variety of Italian specialties in the store....take a peek at the cheesecake in the case when you arrive and order a slice. Its a rectangle shaped cake...it even looks good, however, its tastes even better!!!
