Went for lunch today with my family and my father. The whole experience was fantastic from the minute we entered to the minute we left. The whole ambiance gave you a warm feeling. Tons of TVs so you could watch the football games. We were asked if we wanted to watch a certain game and they would put it on. The wait staff was extremely attentive. Manager Scott was everything a manager should be and more. Food was delicious. Everything we ordered was great from mussels to calamari to spinach dip. Entrees were pork chops and strip steak. Great place and will definitely go back.

I went here for the first time with my cousins who live nearby. Great atmosphere, friendly staff and a nice friendly crowd. We ate at a booth in the bar area and watched football both in our booth and at the TVs over the bar. I had the french onion soup and sheppards pie special, both awesome. We shared the crab cakes, boneless buffalo wings and hummus. My cousins loved the burgers. Sweet potato fries a great choice too.

I went back to the 'Rock' where I grew up and was pleasantly surprised to see the old Dugout has been replaced with O'Neils. This is a great place to get excellent pub food at a reasonable price. The space is very nice. Lots of flat panel TVs and an active, lively bar scene. I had the shepards pie and my wife had the burger. We also started out with an order of wings. All excellent and lots of different beers to choose from. All in all a good experience. I would certainly go back.

This new place in Staten Island is just what the neighborhood needed. The staff is so friendly and helpful. Also the feeling you get when you walk in is like you just walked into a great pub.

I live literally right down the block. And I was really hoping that the place would be someplace that my friends and I would frequent. Unfortunately it does not live up to its decor ( the two stars are because it is decorated quite nicely) the food was quite simply subpar. I've eaten there at least 6 times each time just hoping that maybe it would get better. Maybe I was trying the wrong dishes. Sadly I wasn't. I never had one item that I would order again. And it doesn't have any identity. .. there is absolutely nothing Irish about this menu. Aside from the food they have a decent tap beer selection slightly overpriced. And extremely overpriced mixed drinks and shots. I took some coworkers there after work it was around midnight and there was hardly anyone else in the bar we were the only ones spending money and the female bartender gave us such an attitude as if she was hoping we would just leave. And God forbid you get a buyback after spending a hundred dollars. In short I really really wish that this could have been my new neighborhood bar but sadly I still have to drive up Forest Avenue or victory Boulevard to go to some place with a bit of a higher standard.

I've been here a few times. The food comes fast and the burgers are absolutely delicious. The staff is courteous and attentive. We sat at the bar and the bartenders were very engaging and the decor is interesting and inviting with a warm feel. They have books behind the bar and fireplace when you walk in with antiques scattered around. The owner Mike walks around and talks to the customers and made us feel really welcome. My new place to eat and drink!!

Good pub food. Shepard's Pie is my favorite. Burger is also good, cooked as ordered. Draught beer and cider are also good. Fries were good, but could have been hotter.

My friend and I went for lunch. First time patrons. I had been there before when it was Dugout and although that place went down the tubes, I did not see any great improvement with the remodel. (Although booths are always a great option which O'Neills has) To be fair I once had an extremely good burger at the Dugout in the early days that it opened. My friend's burger was not prepared the way she asked. She was very specific and waitress seemed to get what she was saying. The burger was very very rare; precisely what she did not want. She also found a really long hair in her hamburger. We both felt nauseous after that.. Needless to say she was disgusted and we will not be going back. there. My stomach is still queasy. I would not recommend you go there. .

Shocked at how nice the renovations came out. This place is twenty times nicer than what was once here (dugout). The Edison lightbulbs are a cool touch and the crowds a bit older but much classier than those that came to the previous establishment. The menu is pretty standard bar food but missing your usual Irish dishes. I recommend the baked Mac n cheese. Definitely worth a shot and a cool addition to Staten Island in general.

Bought a Groupon and it was a local place so thought I would give it a try. Appetizers - fish n chips. In reality, it was fish sticks bought from BJ's? Chips were refried lays chips. Entrees- had the penne alla vodka. It was good Service was mediocre. All in all, I didn't think it was worth. Even with the Groupon

Good wasn't bad... but not great. The decor is beautiful and the food came out timley and hot. Tvs everywhere. Beer and dinner specials. Overall the food was either too salty/not salty enough. It tasted like some items were thawed. I loved the decor so I would go again for drinks but not so much the food.

Went early on a Saturday for dinner. It was excellent. The service was great and the employees were very pleasant. We ordered a few appetizers which were very good and bigger than expected. For dinner we ordered burgers which were cooked to perfection. Will DEFINITELY go back. It was family friendly but I'm sure it gets crowded the later it gets.

My first impression was "Wow"! The decor is really nice, the wait staff was friendly and the prices were reasonable! We ordered simple stuff-burgers, sandwiches, spin artichoke dip-all was delicious! I would recommend O'Neills to hang, watch the game, have a burger and enjoy!

I met some friends here this past weekend and highly recommend it. The apps and burgers were excellent. I was a bit disappointed they didn't have more genuine Irish menu choices, but I was told the new menu will be coming out soon with lots of Irish fare. Great beer selections and friendly staff!

O'Neills is a great place. Good food and drink in a relaxed, welcoming place. Went Saturday night. Appetizers were tasty. The veggie burger served with non greasy sweet potato fries was delicious. Excellent service. Will definitely return to try other menu items.

Service is awful. Had to ask someone (bus boy I think) to be our waiter. Seated at 8pm. Appetizers served at 8:45. It's 9:15 and we are waiting for entree with a lot of too loud music playing. Entree came at 9:20. My medium rate NY strip was definitely well done. And my date and I are equally DONE. Management did recognize that it was a bit ridiculous. We weren't charged for several items on the check. Overall pretty standard bar fare on the menu.

Was a little skeptical coming here at first, but was pleasantly surprised. Went for a quick bite to eat and to watch the rangers, yankees, and mets play. The place was packed but the staff did a decent job accommodating everyone. Beers were on point and there special was on the money. Appetizers were prepared well and tasted great. I ordered the corned beef sandwich, and was expecting more, it wasn't bad by any means but I was expecting more. It is different for staten island a bar, a nice change up. Lot of families were there. All in all I was happy with the experience,

Me and my friend went for Happy Hour. The place was newly renovated. They have very friendly bartenders and staff, We ordered a couple of beers, appetizers and dinner at the bar. The Happy Hour deal we got was $5.00 appetizers, The portions were HUGE !!! Great value. We barley had room to fit dinner. The food was presented well and delicious. Great place to go watch a game with plenty of TV's at the bar and dinning area. They also have personal TV's in the bar area if you sit in a booth. Our bill for two came to $60.00 We left FULL, SATISFIED and HAPPY. The reason did not give 5 stars was they could work on the menu to give you more choices and offer more authentic IRISH traditional dishes. They do have Shepperd's pie. We will try it on our next visit and I will post my review.

Everything was just okay. We started with an order of Fried Calamari, which was light and crispy (cooked nicely) but seemed to lacking any salt/seasoning/flavor. We each had a burger for dinner and again they seemed just okay. They had a decent beer selection, which I always like. I'll definitely be going back, but I'm not running to get there. I saw a comment on another review that they have added some Irish food to the menu, I'll have to at least go back and try that.

Nicely decorated interior, but less than impressive food and service will not make O'Neill's my first choice. Tried this place out after seeing it on Groupon. I had been there when it was Dugout and was unimpressed, but decided to try it again to support a local business. Impressed with the interior makeover, though short of the Irish pub feel it's going for. The server approached my party of 2 soon after seating We ordered wings, a chicken burger, shepherd's pie, and a dessert. Wings were really good, but would have been better if they were sauced. Chicken burger "tastes like it was previously frozen," shepherd's pie was very bland, and the dessert was pretty good. Can't remember what we ordered. Barely anyone came by to check on us or ask if we needed anything, which is frustrating when you see the entire staff chatting around the bar in a nearly-empty dining room. Definitely missed out on a bigger check with the lack of service. Suggestion to management: Offer customer feedback surveys on the table or with the check, and an incentive for completing, and coming back to O'Neill's.

Nice change from the dugout. Only one time here for drinks. Nice beer selection and good drinks. Bartenders are cool and attentive. Bought us back drinks which is a great plus. Will check out the food one day and write back.

Went with the wife and kids. The kids had the chicken tenders and baked mac & cheese. We split an Oneils Burger and the fish & chips. Each had the shrimp bisque. Everything was awesome, even the chicken tenders were juicy and crisp. The fish & chips were so so, but the burger and the bisque were great. Good beer selection, great service, and nice ambiance, esp the music....worth checking out

I was so impressed with this place! The inside is renovated beautifully with a warm finish. We were seated immediately. I thought our waitress was a little abrupt and less than friendly (which was a little uncomfortable), but thankfully, the food made up for that. To start, we had fried calamari and hummus with pita bread. Delicious! The fried calamari was crispy and delicious. The hummus was amazing!! I feel like good homemade hummus is difficult to find and it was great. The pita was hot and yummy. We had burgers and I had a chicken francese hero with mozzarella and it was delicious! It came with a delicious sauce and such good fries! I was so pleased with the food here. I can't wait to go back and try something else! Highly recommend. The only reason they lost one star was our waitress and the temperature didn't seem to be regulated. It was very cold when we arrived and then became stuffy towards the end. Otherwise, I was very pleased!

Good burgers, cold beer, good service, outside seating and great prices! Sit outside for lunch. It's a nice relaxing atmosphere w ice cold beer. I had the blue cheese burger with a salad. My husband had the veggie burger with a salad. Both prepared fresh and tasty Nice attentive service. Good local place!

Well, am I ever glad this place replaced the dugout. Came in for lunch and sat at the bar. Brian our bartender, was attentive and friendly. 10 beers on tap, ranging from Blue Moon Ginger bread to Stella. Had the beef barley soup, which was made from scratch and delicious. Fresh barley, vegetables and meat. The kale veggie burger was one of the best veggie burgers I ever ate. Fresh and homemade and not a frozen hockey puck. Served with sweet potato fries all for $10! The decor is Irish Disney chic. It's a little bizarre, but a massive improvement to the linoleum tile lunch room feel of Dugout. The bar is a nice piece of reclaimed wood. The food could be a little more Irish, but let's be honest the Irish aren't known for their cuisine.

Always great!!!! My family and I love O'Neill's!!!! We have had a couple family parties here and they are very accommodating and very helpful with booking a party. We just had dinner tonight for Mother's day our waitress Jody was a doll. Our meal was great. I had the strip steak it was perfectly.... cooked. Thank you again O'Neills!!!!

Came with a friend for the first time since it changed from dugout. The decor is so much better than dugout!! We thought the booths with private tvs was a great touch- especially on a busy game day Sunday. The only reason I'm giving 3 stars is because service was a little lack luster and some of our food was bland. Came in and weren't greeted, had to ask if we could sit at a booth and the waiters seemed very confused. Ordered a Sam Adams Oktoberfest on tap and it didn't taste right. Wasn't that cold and tasted flat or stale. They did exchange it for something else without a problem. Food is typical pub food. Ordered wings and they were good but the whole plate was all drumsticks and not a single wing :( French onion soup was a little bland as was my burger. But overall was decently priced and I'd probably come back.

Second time's a charm --- went back with 3 friends and sat outside on a Friday night. Service was soooo much better, while everything else was on par with the first visit. I don't think details on the food are needed here - it was all great. The wonderful service this second visit makes me keep Oneills on the list of places to go again.

I have been here a few nights and wish I was there a few other times.. When I'm some where else. The drinks are great! The service is quick and friendly. I have enjoy all my previous visits. And will come more often also! Their food tastes amazing!

I try not to be too critical of new restaurants because I know they are working out the kinks, but even I have my limits. Our waitress was hard to get a hold of, neglected to bring my husband one of his appetizers and well the BUG on the plate was a BIT OF AN ISSUE FOR ME. The food was fine, nothing to write home about, but I can't really see myself going back. I will at least commend management for not charging me for my meal.

I went on a Friday for lunch on a cold cold day, and the place was pretty busy, which I took as a good sign. I can't speak for the evening rush, but the waiting time for lunch was average. The waitress was friendly. The decor is nice, a dark wood bar and over-sized booths. The boneless wings are delicious; they're seasoned then fried, sauce on the side. It's more like fried chicken, which I know is how wings were meant to be. Let me decide if I want to ruin the crunch and bathe them in sauce. I digress. Just a peeve of mine. Plenty of beer on tap. They have a kids' menu, and everyone was sweet with my boys. For me, it was a feel good place, especially when they brought us two cake slices on the house. It's the thought.

Went there with a few friends for dinner. We got a few apps and a meal. The Spinach Dip really didn't have much flavor, it was missing something. The mac and cheese was really good. My friends got burgers and they found it dry and I got the French dip, it was OK. Missing something. The staff started out very attentive then as time progressed they went MIA.

We are new to Staten Island and looking for a good Irish place to hang out. They had the best alcohol choices so far. But there is little Irish dishes in the menu.

  • Craven M.

My only issue when I first reviewed was the lack of Irish menu options. It appears the owner listened to his customers and introduced a new menu to kick off the new year. Sheppards Pie, Bangers & Mash, Fish & Chips all added, and all delicious. "Irish Egg Rolls" are (although obviously not authentic) are creative and delicious. Sort of a Reuben rolled into an egg roll. They are now a must have whenever we go. Tap beer selection always changing and offering uncommon offerings, such as Blue Moon's First Peach, Sam Adams Cold Snap, and Flagships APA. Love this place.

2 1/2 stars. I love the renovations. Was hoping for more Irish food not just the same food as every other place on the rock. Service was below average. The beer selection was great and I will give it another try and will definitely drink there.

It's a new spot on SI. Here we go: Decor: pretty damn cool. We came for a late dinner on a Monday n grabbed a booth in bar area. Dark wood, lots of TVs, and cool touches ( check out the booth lights). There is a bigger dining room available, but at 930 on a Monday, we chose the bar booth. Menu: mostly traditional good pub fare, with some pricier entrees. Burger were 10, apps around 7, steak at 19. Food: chix wings were yummy n spinach dip was delish. I had shepherds pie special (very good). She had bleu cheese bacon burger. She shoved it in my face and mocked me with it bc in her words"the bacon is crispy n bleu cheese is great!" Sometimes she is too much. Beer: a bunch on tap. I had a Staten Island beer! Flagship. Very good. Definitely a return visit is warranted. Recommended to all. And best of all IT AINT A CRAPPY CHAIN!

The only thing Irish about this bar is the name. Wall to Wall TV's It's like having a beer in Best Buy.

Stopped by last night because I heard about the renovations, talk about night and day. Bar area was really nice, about 8-10 flat screens straight across the top and bartenders had the drink refills done before you even had to ask. Food was great, numerous appetizers and entrees, French Dip was the best I had ever. Overall great job on decor and service, would highly recommend if in the area.
