Best bakery in Queens. I recommend this to family and friends all of the time and choose them to get their delicious treats for my parties and get togethers. love the brownies, rainbow cookies, cannolis and cakes, The tarts are out of this world as well as the italian cheesecakes.

My friend always gets my birthday cakes from here. The last one she got with the tiger printed chocolate was heavenly with vanilla cake, chocolate cake and vanilla and chocolate mousse in between! So for my other friends birthday we decided to get one from here too. It was my first time in the bakery and this place is beautiful with its sparkling displays showcasing tray after tray of tempting treats. After a tense decision making moment with vanilla custard cake, strawberry shortcake and cannoli cake. The person there recommended the cassata or cannoli cake. I got the cassata cake and boy was it heavenly! Cant wait to come in summer for some gelato. The prices here, for the quality are pretty unbelievable.

Just got back from Christmas Eve dinner at my dear friend's house and had to put this review on yelp about the extraordinary chocolate Christmas log and dulce de leche cake she served for desert. Found out they were both from this bakery. My friend told me the owner/baker worked at Bruno's in the village before he stuck out on his own here in Queens. That explains how rich and moist the cakes are as he learned his craft in the true Italian tradition. I understand they are even opened on Christmas Day so might just take a trip there for some cappuccino and find another delicious delicacy to devour and worry about the calories I'll keep adding in a new year's resolution to work out extra hard...

A fairly innocuous looking bakery with amazing cakes. I've only been purchasing their cassata (cannoli) cakes, but recently, I purchased one of their tiramisu cakes, which was also amazing. I'm a big fan of their cassata cakes. They're absolutely delicious. Everybody who's had their cassata cakes have said the same. Also, the cakes are extremely cheap. I've gotten used to shelling out $30-40 a cake, so to only pay $18-20 for a cake from here is an adjustment I can easily get used to. One of these days, I'll get one of their smaller baked goods as well. I'm sure they'll be delicious, though.

I have to say, I don't normally care for Italian cookies... they are usually too bland for my liking. However, I needed to bring a treat to a party so I purchased a pound of assorted Italian Cookies... Oh my God!! They are amazing!! All of them. I also had some kind of apple turn over type pastry today that was to die for. I also tried one of their breads, I want to say it was a cranberry bread, it was not too dry, it was also very tasty. The service every time I have gone is has been good, prices seem fair. I can't wait to try more. I will be back over and over again!

I stay in Rego park and this bakery is quite near to my place. Dominated by Martha's country bakery, this place is a small, quaint bakery on Austin street. But do not go by their size, as this bakery packs some strong flavors n deliciousness in their products. They have a host of cookies, cakes, cheesecakes n Italian desserts to choose from. I have tried their strawberry cheesecake, raspberry pockets n Biscotti. And I can't stop raving about it. Also the lady at the counter is quite hard working n sincere. Love this place!

First, I have to say that the owners of this family owned bakery are so kind and hard working. They seek to please their customers. Second, the attention to detail and artistry that are put into each of their creations are so beautiful and amazing. I ordered a custom cake for my 5 year old son's birthday and I wanted to make it extra special as it was his first birthday party with his classmates. I had so many ideas on what he liked (M&Ms, Oreos, Sesame Street, raspberry jelly) that I wanted to incorporate into this cake, but was not sure how to make all of the ingredients come together without being too overwhelming. I met with the owners Maria and Tony to consult with them. They were so patient and full of great ideas, which really helped me to fine tune the final design and ingredients. As you can see from the final product, there were great details, airbrushing and included everything I wanted in the cake. The cake was a moist vanilla sponge cake with raspberry filling. It was so soft and yummy that if there was a piece left it would have been my pillow. I will definitely be back to order a cakes for his birthdays and other milestones.

This place rocks!! Ordered a birthday cake for my son's 4th birthday last minute. Called and asked if it could be done for the next day and there was no hesitation. The owners are great and really know how to cater to the public. I got a vanilla cake with cookies and cream filling!!!!! It was a huge hit with the kids and the adults. It was fresh and just perfect. They did a great job for one day notice.

I'm no stranger to this bakery. We come here quite often for their cannoli cake which is delicious btw. Their cream is good and the cake is nice and moist. So lately, we've been coming in here and trying their pastries and I must say, most of it kind of disappoints. Napoleon - Not bad but not entirely good either. There's no "wow" factor. The cream is good but there's too much of it. Lobster Tail - Again, the cream is good but this time the lobster tail itself tasted over done and a bit old. Some parts of the tail tasted burnt. The cream tasted the same as the Napoleon. Mini Cream Puffs - For a dollar, it's okay. It's not the same cream they use in their lobster tail and Napoleon. Its almost like a Bavarian cream with a pudding texture. It wasn't bad. Verdict - Visually, the stuff looks good but the Napoleons and Lobster tails weren't very impressive by taste. Another downer in this bakery, they don't sell slices of cake. If I wanted their delicious cannoli cake, I would have to buy the whole thing! Sometimes I just want a slice of it so that I can satisfy my cravings.

The baking begins early within the basement of La Dolce Italia Bakery, as they have another location which is serviced and supplied by the original location. The location I stop in on a semi daily basis to grab a cappuccino and some treats for the house. As with most all Italian bakeries the Italian cookies are always well represented, but really never grasp my interest. I think I broke the Italian tradition of my family for being the first to not purchase them on a weekly basis and give them out, I do it with bread instead. For me, I always buy a cannoli, biscotti or an little tiramisu if I am feeling like a special treat for my breakfast, but when I need some dessert to bring to a dinner, La Dolce always has great choices that will not break the bank. There are some tables inside, so you can take your magazine or newspaper, sit and enjoy your reading over a hot coffee beverage, escaping this brutal winter weather we have been experiencing. The most friendly staff you could hope to have serve you up authentic Italian treats.La Dolce Italia Bakery makes the real Italian desserts, not like the many pretenders that promote themselves as true and authentic Italian..

What can I say " don't forget the cannoli cake" :) seriously the place rocks... Love their pastries and love their customer service. Happened upon this sweet spot one night after dinner and I'm ever so glad we did! Let's start with their patient service with our large party of 6 adults & 3 children. It's a small place so we filled if up! Everyone tried something different & shared. What stood out? Gelato - awesome Chocolate covered cannoli - even more awesome & fresh Pecan tart - a must to share and devour with coffee or tea. I'm looking forward to being in that neighborhood again & stopping in!

Heard about this awesome bakery from a friend and ordered a cake here for a cousin's bday. I ordered a tres leches cake upon request of the bday girl. I have absolutely nothing negative to say about this place except that they spelled the name on the cake wrong and had a little sass about correcting it! Other than that, great service, delicious cake. I didn't even know a layered, frosted cake could be made with tres leches cake and be so incredible. They also have a big selection of your favorite Italian style bakery cookies. Will definitely be going back to try some. A nice little find not far from home.

  • J K.

This bakery makes the most delicious cakes. They are so moist I've never had anything like it. I have gotten, cannoli and the dulce de leche cake over the years for parties. The regular size cake that would feed 8ish people is only $20. I always go here when I need an occasion cake. Most other bakeries have dry cakes and weird tasting frosting. I also enjoy the cookies and the coffee they have here. Cappuccinos are really good. The staff are really nice too. They have good hours too open early and close late.

my favorite go-to bakery. ordered a sexy special order cake for my boyfriend recently and it was a hit. unfortunately my camera had no film so I wasn't able to take a picture but if you want a sexy cake for a male the owner, maria, can give you ideas. ALL their pastries and cookies are delicious too.

Went to a wedding and found out that the cake was made from this bakery. This Dulce de Leche cake was just so moist and delicious, I ate my entire piece. I will be ordering it this weekend for my husbands bday party this weekend! I hear the prices are very reasonable too.

This bakery has the most delicious deserts. The aroma as you walk through the doors is very appetizing. It's quite different than others. The baker is so talented with their vast creations of marvelous cakes made with a personal touch. They did a beautiful job for a birthday cake for my mother. I tried most of their pastries and cookies. My favorite pastries are the cannoli and fruit tarts. The Oreo cheesecake is to die for and I recommend everyone to try the Dulce de Leche cake which is my favorite also everybody else's that tried it. I am very pleased with all their goods. I highly recommend this place. -Paul T

Their cakes are amazing, moist and just the right amount of sweetness. I had a a cake customized for a graduation party and they were exceeded my expectations. They made a wonderful themed cake just based on pictures from the internet! I absolutely love the bakery and recommend them to all of my friends!

I order cakes, Italian pastries, mini mousses from here all the time. They are always made fresh and taste delicious. I own a catering business for over 10 years and La Dolce is one of my favorite go to places to order my desserts. They are great to work with and are always accommodating. I just ordered three sheet cakes for a big event and the cakes were beautiful and everyone was raving!

  • Monique R.

More like a 2.5 While the pastries werent GREAT they certainly werent awful. I liked their gelato. I thought the canoli was decent and i have had several danishes... meh. I kept going back because I thought maybe i would find something that would impress me. I would eat here again, if nothing else was open

    (3)
  • Florence K.

Good place to get your sweets. Better than most of the local italian bakeries. Their cannolis are good and so is their tiramisu. The Hazelnut mousse is one of the things I always come back for. Baked items are always fresh and do not taste of day old cakes. I like them more than any of the other bakeries because they're pretty original in flavors and are not too heavy on the creams and icings on the cakes. Great for the holidays!

    (4)
  • Stacy A.

Uuugh please no I was soooooo excited to see all the beautiful pastries when I walked in, I have to say, I give them 5 stars for presentation. I bought a lobster tail, canoli, red velvet and napoleon. I couldnt wait to taste each of them when I got home. Each was worse than the next.the best of all four was the crust of the lobster tail and that was waaaay below any lobster tail I ever ate. The flavors were all off, it's probably good for the average person, but for an Italian looking for real Italian pastries, don't go here. Your grandparents will roll over in their graves, it's such a disgrace. Hence, I will not be going back.

    (1)
  • Sandra P.

This is my one and only bakery. I purchase all my cakes here - b-day, baby showers, baptism and all cakes come out beautiful and extremely delicious. My favorite flavor is dulce de leche with strawberry, it's the perfect combination and everyone raves about the flavor of the cake. Try it! The bakery is clean, spacious, in a great neighborhood, and a great staff who are willing to work with you and accomodate your needs as well.

An accidental discovery - in the nabe too early in the morning, looking for coffee --- there is sooo much more here: authentic Italian pastries, original design cakes, and biscotti classics.... All looking fresh out of the Chef's hands! Tried the mixed fruit (kiwi, white seedless grape & strawberry) tartlet - just as good as its look promised!!!:) Getting some more to go. Everything is baked on the premises!!! Enjoy!

  • Rina S.

Our family has been coming here for years cause there is no other Italian bakery as good like La Dolce near us. We have had their cookies, strawberry shortcake, cheesecake and cannolis! Tried the vanilla chip gelato it was better than my mom's mango flavor gelato.

    (4)
  • Angela S.

great dessert stop! i had mango & passion fruit gelato, (not a bad combination, but the mango was way better) i had a corn muffin too, but they only have a microwave and can't toast them. their cappuccino was pretty great too.

    (4)
  • John P.

Presentation looks great, but product is bad. Their goods sit in the display cases for a week and taste stale. I don't even think its really Italian. I went in once and asked for an espresso macchiato and the staff didn't know what I was talking about. A disgrace.

    (1)
  • Thomas L.

This is the best bakery that I have found in the area They have good cannoli and fruit tarts and I have been picking up all my holiday baked goods their for the past couple of years and everyone at family functions always like whatever I bring from there whether its strawberry cheesecake or tiramisu

    (3)
  • Rose L.

it's a great local bakery that has all the key italian staples. warning - red velvet is not the best here so skip it. they're known for the italian pastry not the other stuff. they have good cannoli, fruit tarts, italian cookies, etc... you will enjoy the sweets here.

    (3)
  • Leigh K.

This place is pretty good, though it's not fantastic. Cannoli shells are over-crisp, and I think they do that because they fill the cannolis early in the day and let them sit. Maybe it prevents them from getting soggy, but it's no the way to do it. I'm not a fan of the presentation of the pastries, and the quality is just alright. I've had better. I'd try the Italian bakeries in Cobble Hill/Carroll Gardens on Court Street if you want some good stuff...

This is the best bakery that I have found in the area They have good cannoli and fruit tarts and I have been picking up all my holiday baked goods their for the past couple of years and everyone at family functions always like whatever I bring from there whether its strawberry cheesecake or tiramisu

it's a great local bakery that has all the key italian staples. warning - red velvet is not the best here so skip it. they're known for the italian pastry not the other stuff. they have good cannoli, fruit tarts, italian cookies, etc... you will enjoy the sweets here.

More like a 2.5 While the pastries werent GREAT they certainly werent awful. I liked their gelato. I thought the canoli was decent and i have had several danishes... meh. I kept going back because I thought maybe i would find something that would impress me. I would eat here again, if nothing else was open

Enjoy!

Our family has been coming here for years cause there is no other Italian bakery as good like La Dolce near us. We have had their cookies, strawberry shortcake, cheesecake and cannolis! Tried the vanilla chip gelato it was better than my mom's mango flavor gelato.
