I got the teensiest cookie of happiness from here the other day. I'm doing no chocolate for 40 days (just a few days left.... I can make it...), so I got a sugar cookie. The teeny tiniest sugar cookie I've ever seen. It was the Thumbelina of cookies. For 25 cents! I don't know what else I could get for 25 cents these days. AH grape maybe? Anyway, I loved it, but that's all I had. So I can't logically give it more stars. But after Sunday, I'm telling you, it's on! No crumb of chocolate is safe!

Lovely cakes and cookies. Simply divine! I've always wanted to stop in for a croissant or a danish at breakfast time, but it's always packed with mommies and kiddies that I just move on.

It's the quaintest thing you'll come across. The floor is laid in smooth bricks. The lighting is dim. The tables and chairs are picturesque. And the dessert is YUMMY. A bit expensive but SO WORTH IT. This is a great place to go on a lazy summer afternoon or during those rainy days.

I can't get enough of the Duane Park Patisserie. Its delectable Viennoisserie: almond croissants, pain au raisin. Freshly baked by 8 AM. Heaven. And local, in looks and ownership, unlike some of the too-slick, too-St Germaine competitors popping up in the area. Take your favorites across the street to Laughing Man Coffee for an extra treat. Then sit outside and enjoy Duane Park, the most quaint of all TriBeCa mini-neighborhoods.

I would look to other companies for custom made cookies. Called for custom Christmas designed sugar cookies - and was told because they are out of production I would have to pay a premium. No offense but - sugar cookies ingredients never are out of season and custom designs whether for a wedding or a Christmas tree - shouldn't bar you from making a (now former) customer's order. Kind of a let down. Ended up calling 3 other bakeries who helped immediately. I used to buy multiple OVERPRICED gingerbread houses every year for myself and presents quietly for the past 7 years. Will no longer buy any anymore because of this experience.

This bakery was okay. Not that many unique options and nothing pleasant about the ambiance or decor, but they had really cute red, white, and blue cookies for Fourth of July. They were so sparkly and well-made that I couldn't believe they were edible! They stayed super fresh for days too. Will probably come back to try their other over-priced treats soon.

The inside is majorly lacking in ambience but they have a nice selection of cakes and pastries. There were some croissants and scones in a random baking sheet on the counter. They weren't hot either so I know they didn't just come out of the oven. I got the chocolate chip scone. It was actually a bit too salty. I also got the magic cupcake which I intend on sharing with my boyfriend..will report back with results!

Originally, we were aiming for an afternoon coffee across the street at Laughing Man, but the crowded atmosphere with no room to relax had me looking longingly across the street at this humble looking storefront that said "bakery" on the window. I almost turned away due to the door opening seemingly being on the wrong side of the door- but once I got over the hurdle of thinking it was closed- I was more than delightfully surprised to find a much more relaxed atmosphere with no one inside enjoying the cool air, but still with coffee, espresso, and even brewed tea and lemonade for an afternoon Arnold Palmer.... but now with the added delights of assorted mini cookies, cakes, and tarts! When I asked how many cookies would make a half pound, and the response was about 30- I decided to tone it down a notch and save my waistline for the next week by only going for a quarter pound. I still ate half of them over the iced tea while reading the TriBeCa area paper.... darnit..... but to make me feel slightly better about my indulgence- I had just done downtown boathouse kayaking on the Hudson and walked a few miles to TriBeCa and back home. :) Also glad to see some Michigan love in the window- it's always nice to support a fellow Michiganian.

The pastries are intense, heavy, and not for anybody. Mix Berry Tart - This tart has a lot of berry seeds. No Joke. Many of them would be stuck in between and under your teeth, which makes this tart both annoying and painful to eat. Cool they use real fruits to make the tart but owwww. Lemon Tart - Super sour and lemony-less. Given that I love to squeeze lemon in practically all of my food, I still find the tart wayy too sour. However, somehow the natural aroma of a lemon is missing. Taste buds be shocked, watch out. Cheese Cake - Extremely creamy and heavy, like eating a glob of mushy cream cheese + sugar. Like yummy baby food.

More like 3.5 stars. Not the best pastries in the city, but definitely far from the worst. This is a high end very professional party shop. Everything tastes good, just not mind blowing. The croissants are solid, but the almond variety felt a little dry, as though it could have used more butter. Their coffee is very good, but they only have one size. Their cakes all look amazing, I didn't have any of those, maybe next time. The staff is excellent- very friendly and patient and this means a lot considering that I looked pretty ragged compared to the Tribecans that frequent the shop. I will visit here again of sure, try a few more of their offerings and I'll update my review.

I have lived in Tribeca for almost ten years. I would not recommend this bakery. The selection is small and the prices are high. They are mainly in the business, I think, of larger orders and expensive cakes etc. They offer coffee drinks and random cookies but the service has always been indifferent at best, downright unfriendly at worst. The coffees are usually lukewarm. I have gone here over and over through the years due to lack of other options, but now that there are options----Laughing Man coffee across the street, Sara Beth's Bakery and Cafe, the new Maison Kayser and Macaroon just steps away. Now I don't have to go here anymore. I think they make a mistake in not valuing each and every customer. When the owner/baker enters the store from the kitchen, she never even smiles or says hello. Something is wrong with that.

I stopped by for a coffee and pastry when I was nearby for a work meeting. The eclairs are lovely and all the cakes looked amazing! If it were in a more convenient location for me I would definitely stop by more often.

I was in the area and was really craving for cupcakes. It was just alright. I paid $5 for the magic cupcake and there was nothing special about it. There was too much frosting on the top on such a small cupcake.

Oh man, I do love the scones from this place. Delicious. In fact, most of my family does, too. Whenever I'm in the city, I am reminded that "it would be nice" if I could bring back a few of their cranberry scones. While this is phrased as a suggestion, I know it's not. The one time I failed to bring some back to my parents, I was greeted with a disappointed stare and a face that read, "how could I have raised such an inconsiderate daughter." I won't make that mistake again.

What a wonderful experience. Everything from the detail, customer service and going beyond what I expected. The cake was a huge success-- it was a small party but it the cake definitely hit the WOW factor! Everyone is still talking about the cake today. Everything on the cake was edible! The cake tasted as good as it smelled... it was like chocolate heaven and the butter cream filling was on point. It happened to be probably the hottest day on earth yesterday and the young man inside ever so kindly helped me bring the cake to my waiting cab. GREAT experience and I would recommend them to anyone!

A friend and I stopped by for a warm drink and pastry on a Sunday afternoon and encountered rude employees and a real lack of ambiance. It was extremely quiet inside to the point that it felt like we weren't welcome to stay and talk. No music or other customers' chatter to cut the silence. We felt rushed to order even though we were the ONLY ones there and the two employees working, one male and one female, commented to each other, right in front of us, how of course they'd just washed all of the equipment needed to make what we ordered: a cappuccino and a hot chocolate, and now they'd have to use it again. SERIOUSLY? You're complaining about having to do your job and getting business in front of customers? I even asked what time they close after this comment to see if we were cutting it close and was told 5:00. It was only 4:00 so really no excuse for this lack of professionalism and snobbery. I had the "magic cupcake" which was OK but not memorable. My friend got a chocolate brownie which was very good and rich. At the end of the day, coffee and pastry shops are a dime a dozen in NYC and it's not hard to do it well. This place has a real attitude problem and is certainly not worth revisiting.

This cozy place is pretty charming, from the entrance to the rickety door to the WYSIWYG operation to the delightful woman who helped me to a $5 opera cake (mainly her, though). My attempt to visit years back was foiled by their hours, but I was lucky to arrive before that this year and find some old friends catching up and a display case with many prices without item names, so their selection must rotate often. To prolong the amount of time with said charmer, accepted the offer to have the thing boxed and bagged, then proceeded to just eat it across the street in Duane Park since the Hudson was too windy.

The birthday cakes are beautiful, delicious and well priced for the quality. We have ordered cakes from Duane Park Patisserie for 7/8 years and always get many compliments at bday parties. They will do custom designs and beautiful decorations - cakes are always ready to go when I arrive to pick them up. We have usually ordered a week or 2 ahead and gone over flavors/fillings and images on the phone or in person. Perfect every time.

  • Bill C.

Unreliable/Unprofessional. I ordered a cake w/a birthday inscription a day in advance of needing it and informed the bakery I'd be picking it up at 8AM. It wasn't ready...again...no inscription. The worker said they had NO idea why it wasn't done and did the wincing/grimacing glance at the clock saying (w/feigned concern) that the decorator would be in, in 10-15 minutes (it's always at least a 30+ minute wait, after they make a call to the decorator). Having been down this road some 4 or more times already, it's clear that this is standard operating procedure for them. I left without my cake, asking them if I would be charged....I was assured (again, with feigned concern) that I wouldn't be....but I was. Perhaps they rest on their laurels of bygone quality or Tribeca cache, but they deserve neither and they certainly don't deserve your business/money.

I bought a cake here for my daughters birthday party. Specified everything over the phone and arranged for pick-up on the day I needed it. When I went in to pick it up, the cake was sitting on the counter, open for the public to look at and possibly sneeze on. My main concern was the fact that it had mousse in it, but I didn't question. The yelling from the kitchen was reminiscent of Hells Kitchen on tv. All the lettering on the cake was in lower case for some reason, even my daughters name. The fondant had bumps and was not smooth on the sides. When we cut into it, the cake was so dry, when lifting a piece to a plate it would simply fall apart. A guest thought there was coconut in it because it was so flaky and dry. I will not be ordering from here again, you do not get what you pay for.

  • Nick B.

Walking in, you feel that you are indeed in a bakery kitchen and not a retail space selling someone else's delicious wares. When I arrived in the afternoon, there was always nothing left -- a great sign of freshness. I would have liked to try a couple of other baked products, but that was not to be. A great brownie, a cup of coffee (mmm) and a promise to return was what I left with.

  • Diane R.

This is my favorite local bakery and I've relied on them for special occasion cakes many times in the past, both for personal and corporate events I've planned. They can even print an image on edible frosting in one day for you, which helps with last-minute ideas.

  • Jessie D.

Plain croissant & almond croissant -$5 The croissant was pretty plain, and lacks flakiness, not buttery or moist. It could be a mass-produced supermarket croissant.not much flavor, not sweet or that subtle nutiness. Almond croissant had very little almond filling. The filling also taste like nothing. Overall it was pretty dissapointing croissant.

I can't recommend Duane Park Patisserie highly enough. Their butter cookies are particularly delicious. Their by the pound assortment offers a variety of nut, butter, chocolate and jam filled delights, so good! The fruit tart is always delicious, made with fresh fruit in season, topped with a crumb streusel. Fruit pies, also made with seasonal fruit, capture the freshness of the fruit with a minimum of fuss, not too sugary, with the flakiest of crusts. Special occasions in our family call for a custom cake from Duane Park and we have never been disappointed. From a 6-inch chocolate flourless cake covered in glaze to a butterfly and flower decorated devils food cake with mocha ganache and buttercream frosting big enough for 60 guests, each creation has been a home run. Owner Madeleine Lanciani is the ultimate pastry professional, not to mention a winner of Food Network's "Chopped." She knows her stuff. I have often thought of volunteering in her bakery kitchen just to learn the secret of her spectacular special occasion and seasonal decorated cookies - no royal icing here. They are covered in layers of the thinnest white chocolate, dyed in colors of the season. This is truly Santa's workshop when the Xmas season rolls around. And yes, the storefront is humble. But the goods are world class. A Tribeca favorite that, hopefully, will never leave the neighborhood!

Talk about a chocolate indulgence. if you love chocolate, this place is it! Delicious baked goods and so rich in flavor, you will have a heart attack. Some of the cookies are outrageously priced, but the cakes are pretty decently priced and definitely worth the money. I've had the chocolate cake and the lemon tart and both were exceptional. If you're looking for something to wow a crowd, this is the place to go!

The baked goods here are fine, but I've been here a few times and the girls behind the counter are so unfriendly, it makes the place very unwelcoming. They look bored and act as if it's a chore to say hello and/or help you. One of the girls was downright rude to a woman who had a few questions about an item. I won't be back.

If you live in one of the multi-million dollar lofts around the small triangular patch of green that is labeled Duane Park, you can likely afford to have someone do all your cooking and baking for you. And are likely too busy or lazy to consider cooking and baking. For this elite subsection of Tribeca, Duane Park Patisserie serves as a mere extension of their kitchen, executing on their episodic baking needs. For the rest of us, the patisserie is a quaint 'mom and pop' alternative to the likes of Bouley Bakery. The patisserie is small yet spacious, in part due to the high ceilings. Seating is limited and so is their assortment on display. Of the pastries, the lemon tart and eclair please. The cupcakes and brownies are on the drier side. They also have custom cookies that are made to order, with a few samples for sale. Their cutters seem varied--the Statue of Liberty, the Knicks logo, owl and turkey shapes, for example. I particularly like their gingerbread flavored cookies. A perfect complement to their hot chocolate, that is made only during the winter months. Duane Park Patisserie's main line of business is however their custom orders of cakes for birthdays and special events. Expect the service to be matter-of-fact. Unless of course you live in the neighborhood and are ordering a sculpted, 18-inch, three-dimensional red velvet cake with buttercream filling and ganache icing.

BEST BAKERY IN NYC. I don't call something "The Best" lightly. This place is it. They have it all, amazing tasting cakes, cookies and cupcakes and everything they produce is beautiful. Really really gorgeously decorated. I have been ordering custom cakes from them for years. They make the most beautiful scenes on their cakes. I have sent them photos that they have recreated on the cakes in icing (not screened on, like you might see at lower-end bakeries - they actually recreate the photo by "painting" it on the cake) and truly create works of art. It's always extremely difficult to cut the cake when the time comes. They can also take an idea that you have of what you would like on your cake and create it without a photo. I have asked for "beach scenes with the ocean, boardwalk, a wagon, ect) and it's always exactly how I wish it to be. (Tip: The marzipan icing is the BEST - and I usually pair it with chocolate cake with raspberry jam filling or white cake with apricot jam filling) They also make amazing petit fours, I get them every year for my birthday. They are much better than other places that make them, the icing is sweet but not too sweet and the cake inside is moist and flavorful. Right around the holidays you can always catch their exquisite cookies in the shapes of everything under the sun, corresponding to the holiday at hand. For example, around New Year's Eve, I have seen delicate cookie masks in black with gold and silver accents. Just to give you an idea of the type of work they do. It's pretty far downtown, but totally worth the trek!

This is an authentic, bustling, mom & pop bakery. Or maybe just mom. You can read about owner and master baketress (yes I made that up) Madeline's 19 years of success in the article clippings on the wall, and even catch a peek at her working in the large, crisp clean kitchen area in the back. Small but charming seating area surrounded by old black & white family photos, children's books and even a few vintage toys. You really feel like you're in someone's home that just happens to have a commercial bakery in the back. If I was lucky enough to live in the surrounding multi-milli dollar condos I'd find myself here for many a low key morning coffee and croissant!

  • Adam W.

Very cute and lots of scrumptious pastries. I tried a little bit of the chocolate scone and almond croissant... both very good. However, the fresh coffee is not hot. I ordered two cups at two different times of the day and both times got a mildly-luke cup of coffee. The second time, I asked if they could give me a hot cup and they offered to either microwave it or steam it with the espresso machine. You have to be able to serve hot coffee at a place like his and there's no excuse for serving room temp coffee. Also, not much seating. The Duane Park itself has some benches outside but that won't be an attractive option as it gets colder. Amy's Bread in Hell's Kitchen, for example, has several tables and chairs where at least 12-16 or so people could sit comfortably. Here, it looks like you could sit 5 people tops. Also, and this is not a huge deal for me but it's worth pointing out... there were several college football cookies on the counter for $5 (see my photo.) Maybe this is more of a testament to the gentrification of Manhattan than anything but for me, it was a major put off. I don't expect my local patisserie to be targeting the frat and kegger crowd but I guess that's just a sign of the times.

I'm going to hit every bakery in New York City, order the best thing they have and hopefully learn something along the way. A visit to Duane Park Patisserie for their Magic Cupcake. Wand not included. It's different here, in Tribeca. The streets give way to the once practical, now reminiscent, cobblestones peaking through the concrete. The stores, welcomed one-offs seem quiet. Quiet for a New York City afternoon that is. Aside from a children's nursery school, there's not much is going on outside. Inside, however, Duane Park Patisserie is a flutter. The bakers are busy arranging several hundred mini-desserts for delivery. Moms and their mini-Me's sit at the front table entranced in the sweet treats that sit before them. I was greeted by Madeline, herself, and a plate of dream-like cupcakes. She calls them her Magic Cupcakes. As the story goes, it was who first baked up these treats for Madeline and her siblings. When asked how she got the filling, she'd simply smile and respond, "Magic." For me, the cupcake is exactly the size a cupcake should be. The cake is a moist and airy, yet flavor-packed, chocolate. In contrast, the chocolate icing is rich and dense. On first bite I think it might be too much. Then I get a bite of the "surprise filling" inside and exactly why these cupcakes are so magical. (Please refrain all sex jokes, you dirty birds.) The filling, some kind of white, whipped buttercream, is generous to say the least. There is no worry of not getting the cake, icing, cream combo in every bite; Something I've been a victim of in the past. It's no wonder, Madeline has a slew of locals who stop in daily to see what's on the menu and what's not. (She offers up the extras from whatever event the bakery's catering that day.) That's exactly how this bakery morphed from a pure commercial business into what it is today. Now she's even starting to post such privileged information on her twitter page, which, depending if you're a loyal local or not, may or may not be good news... Either way, you can always get the Magic Cupcake. This project is brought to you by an embarrassing meltdown. See more: sweetmeltdown.weebly.com

This is my third time at this bakery. I tried to give them a chance, but the people behind the counter are too snotty. The baked goods are ok, definitely not worth dealing with the rudeness of the staff. There are too many great bakeries with nice staff to waste time in this one.

I was in the area this afternoon and decided to stop by for lunch since I read somewhere that this patisserie has very good eclairs. I ordered a petite quiche and a cappuccino to eat there and an eclair to eat later. The quiche was ok, nothing special. Nothing compared to the ones I've had in France, or even the one I make at home. The crust was blah and a bit soggy. It didn't look great sitting on the counter either but it was the only non-sweet type item they had. The cappuccino, on the other hand, was much better. Now for the eclair - which I just finished about 30 minutes ago. It was really quite good! Probably not the best ever, but I also don't eat eclairs that often. If you're in Tribeca and find yourself looking for a sweet fix then I would definitely recommend stopping by (and I do suggest trying the eclair because it was really good!)

Had the fudge brownie... yum! Kinda small for $3, but rich enough that I've been nibbling on it for the last 2 days. Their little decorated sugar cookies were $3.50. Yeesh. I just couldn't do it. It's a small store with just a bit of seating up front, and organized chaos starting from the end of the counter. It looked like they'd just piled a bunch of the breakfast pastries on a tray temporarily. Treats looked tasty though. I might come back as a rare treat for the lemon tart and the cupcakes.

After doing a lot of research on having a custom cake made I decided on choosing Duane Park Patisserie for my fiancee's graduation cake. The price was reasonable and the staff was amazingly patient and friendly. I must have changed the dimensions of the cake at least a dozen times in a matter of three days and they were always helpful. To be honest I'm a guy and I don't always know what might work in a cake so Kayla and Justin were great in giving me ideas and flavor combinations to work with. The service was top notch and to have an idea for a cake and have that plan executed in 72 hours is amazing. The cake it was was great moist, the filling was on point and the butter cream was not overly sweet like some other places but perfectly stiff. Thanks for making my fiancee cry. I will definitely be using them again.

I just had my wedding cake made and delivered by Duane Park Pattiserie, and it turned out to be awesome! The price is reasonable, and they give you 4 tasting cakes included in the price of the cake. I wasn't crazy about the taste of their fillings, but I was happy with my chocolate cake with rapsberry mousse filling. The communication for the order was satisfactory, and the delivery service to my wedding venue was on time, in one piece, with the reasonable delivery charge. If you have a wedding near the area, this place is definitely a place to check it out before you choose other place.

After calling 9 bakeries around the city and Brooklyn, I chose Duane Park Patisserie to make a custom "Boo the Dog" birthday cake for my boyfriend. The staff (particularly Eric) was incredibly patient with me when I sent numerous e-mails, attachments, photos, and links for how I wanted the cake to look. It came out exactly as I had wanted it. Moreover, they knew I was on a budget and were very reasonable in terms of pricing. When I went to pick up the cake, one of the staff members actually walked me out to my cab to help me get in with the cake so I didn't drop it. So nice! My boyfriend was so surprised and loved the cake, as did all of our friends at dinner. It was such a cute cake that we had a hard time cutting it. I will definitely choose Duane Park Patisserie for all of my custom cake needs.! :)

C'est vraiment cher. (It's very expensive). If you like $3.50 brownies and cuppycakes... these might be worth it on your birthday. The treats are über sweet too. I wish I could go here more often, but I think I like keeping this place as a super special treat and I think my arteries like not being blasted with crazy amounts of butter, sugar, etc. Of note: Duane Park, across the street, is the perfect place to sit and look at the gorgeous architecture of this little street while savoring your Magical Cupcake (I'm not telling you what the surprise is--figure out for yourself)

2 words: Magic Cupcakes. 2 more: Blackout Cake. If you like chocolate cake then this is your bakery. They also do tons of cute beautifully decorated cookies so many people like to special order from them. But my fav is definitely the Magic Cupcakes!

I went in here the other day and got a chocolate croissant. It was good. I ate it, I liked it, but I probably won't go back for another one. I'm guessing there is a better chocolate croissant in the area - I just have to find it! Maybe PQ? Maybe I'll come back to try some of the other options.

Charming little bakery. Walked by and decided to go in for a snack. I had an iced coffee and three of the little cookies (the chocolate chocolate is awesome!). I would definitely order these to bring as a gift, but even better -- they custom make cookies! I will be back to try the magic cupcake for sure.

Damn you, Duane Park Patisserie! The cherry turnover here is my favorite pastry in the city. It's elusive and understated as they only make a handful and sell out quite early in the morning. It's been six years since I first tasted this turnover and I still get a head rush with that first bite into the flaky cherry goodness. The croissants here are excellent, too.

When I walked in, it looked like I had stumbled into a bakery or something. There were boxes of goodies with bows on them ready to be shipped out, and the bakery door was open allowing the most amazing smells of pecan tarts and cookies to fill the room. Fortunately, it also looked clean in there. Yay, no rats! My iced coffee went down easy, and my lemon tart was Gone in Sixty Seconds. Fortunately, I didn't have to sit anywhere because of all the boxes of "tennis ball" cookies set to be shipped out to Flushing Meadow. Intriguing...I think I'd take them myself if I could eat a few on the way and deliver them personally to Maria Sharapova or perhaps Martina Hingis.

For my parents' 40th wedding anniversary, we wanted to surprise them with an exact replica of their 1972 wedding cake. We only had one grainy photo, but the incredibly helpful staff worked with us to create an absolute masterpiece (and at a very reasonable price, considering the effort involved) which was virtually identical to the original cake. The cake was a highlight of the party, and -- aside from the appearance -- everyone commented how delicious it was. I could not be more pleased with the customer service and the finished product, and will be back for many more special events!

Okay. So this is my local joint. I get coffee here every morning on the way to the train, and sometimes on the way home. I buy holiday-specific sugar cookies throughout the year. I've pre-ordered pies for thanksgiving. I ordered a custom cake for an office party. And I've personally seen truckloads of wedding cakes, catered desserts, gingerbread houses, and other mouth-watering confections go out the door. The pastries are buttery and sublime, but you have to get there early in the day because they have a limited amount every day and sell out quickly to the locals. The pies have a descent crust; they have the best tasting sugar cookies I've found in the city thus far; and their cake is perfectly moist. I generally stay away from butter-cream so I can't speak to it, but the ganache is very good. The atmosphere is very laid-back, even when you feel you are stuck in a catering whirlwind. I have personally plowed over a Law & Order filming crew to get into this place, it's that good. The only drawback--the coffee could be better. The drip is okay, but the espresso is terrible.

my friend recommended the spot for a quick sweet fix. i got the brownie bars, which i was disappointed by. they were crunchy and not chewy like i prefer them to be. my friend went with the eclair, which she inhaled. i think i bought the wrong thing so i'll be back. my friend enjoyed her eclair she said it was a bit cold. ouch for those with sensitive teeth. thaw to room temperature. you have been warned.

Duane Park Patisserie (molten choco cake w/ bittersweet choco sauce) [Taste of TriBeCa] - quite heavenly, i must say, choco cake was fluffy and the choco sauce was so decadent, oozing out of the cake like a volcano, this brought sexy back, CRACKTACULAR!

I must admit I have never been to their store in Tribeca but they were handing out their famous Molten Chocolate cake with chocolate sauce at "Taste of Tribeca" and O.M.G. it was the best chocolate cake I have EVER tasted in my life and that is saying something cause I am a chocoholic and I have eaten more chocolate than I would care to admit and I am always hunting for the best chocolate cake or chocolate ice cream. THIS is the best and it does not get any better than that, just thinking about it makes my mouth water. I am for sure going to their store in Tribeca and I would have a hard time ordering something else than the Molten Chocolate Cake even though I know I should. The taste was pure chocolate and I could keep eating it without getting enough even though the taste was so filling and overwhelming. The one making this recipe knows how chocolate should be treated and I hope I some day get my hands on that recipe :D

i had a peanut toffee bar from this place today. i'll try to describe it: shortbread base, toffee w/ halved peanuts above it, and on the top a thin layer of chocolate. i'm not a big peanut fan and i liked it. i'd recommend throwing these in the fridge for a little bit before trying to eat them because they're kind of messy. while this seemed the most interesting / different of what they had on hand, i enjoyed this adult take on the candy bar enough to warrant a return visit and try something else.

Best lemon tart and chocolate ("blackout") cake I've found so far. They're both always a hit at any party I bring them to. Also to love: everything comes in a miniature version so you can enjoy yourself or with one other person (they taste too good to be shared with more than that). Duane Park also does custom cakes and cookies, which I hear are amazing.
