I was recently in Long Island for a few days. A colleague and I went to Cafe Baci for lunch and I was amazed. A few nights later, I took three people there for dinner. We shared the Calamari appetizer which was plenty for four. We all had a variety of entrees. When I saw the veal dishes, there was no veal picante, so I asked the server if it was possible to get that. She said, "Of course. Do you want the sauce with capers and peas?" Wow. My dish was perfect and I appreciated how they responded on a busy night. Wait...I think every night is busy here. Excellent staff, GREAT food. Reasonable prices... They do not take reservations, but do not be daunted by the lines of regulars. It is worth the wait.

Excellent food and great service! The portions are huge!! So you definitely get your money's worth. We will most certainly be coming back!

Went there once for dinner. Used to pass by it for many years until I finally went. It's a nice place but very busy. We were seated right by the doors so we had people running around us. The food was great. I had the penne alla caprese, which was really good. The portions are huge. It was hard to finish the whole entree. Their bread basket was great too. The prices are reasonable based on the quality and quantity of food. And parking was hard to find. They have limited spaces so you should get there a little early so you can get a spot. Definitely looking forward to going there again. All in all it was a good experience.

Great service! Waitress was super nice and patient considering we took forever to place our order, she even told us the specials for the night. The portions were huge! I had gnocchi with vodka sauce, the gnocchi was very filling and the vodka sauce was perfect! I would definitely recommend and will return again to try other dishes!

I've only been to Baci once but it was a lovely experience. The food was amazing and the ambience within the restaurant was so relaxing yet it felt very elegant. The service was good and the wait to be seated was not very long at all considering there was a long list of patrons waiting to be seated. I believe it was the owner who came around and greeted everyone at their tables, which is always nice to be part of. I'd say this was some of the best Italian food on Long Island. Everyone should try it at least once to get the full experience!

Please note the 5 Star Review is mostly based on the marvelous service Maggie provided. I loved the enthusiasm and remarkable service Maggie delivered. We came here for dinner on a Friday night, the ambiance was relaxed and the place was well maintained. We ordered the Rigatoni La Folie, a little too much garlic for my liking but it was delicious The size of the entrees are big so I would suggest sharing. We ended our exquisite dinner with a slice of chocolate mouse cake which was quite delightful I definitely recommend it.The prices are pretty reasonable compared to other popular upscale Italian restaurants on the island.

NON MI PIACE! Meh. I REALLY REAAAAALLY REAAAAAALLLLYYYY wanted to love this place. The reviews are awesome and pics looked delish, but I absolutely do not get the hype at all. This place had me second guessing my palette. I legit had to ask my friends if it was just me or were they unimpressed as well. My general consensus for this place is just because you throw cheese on top & make it look all melty and delicious it will not necessarily taste all melty and delicious. THE SERVICE. Our waitress seemed super sweet & knowledgable. Service was a bit slow & the wait was long, but overall the service is pretty good. They even have a waiting room with snacks for you to eat while you wait. THE DRINKS. We ordered a variety of drinks. They were okay. The long island iced tea was the worst long island I've ever tasted in my life. Don't get it. THE BREAD. Bread was very good, but thats about it. The bread was seasoned & warm. I like seasoned bread. THE PASTA. I was extremeeeeely excited to try the pasta. I remembered we ordered whole bunch of stuff & i was deeply disappointed by all of it. From what I remember we ordered the Cavatappi Secreto, the Fusilli Fantasia, and Meatballs. Nothing stood out & we didn't even want to take the leftovers home. I honestly think my lazy dinner pasta from a box & jar tastes better.

Maybe more 3.5 stars but i haven't been here in a while like maybe 10 years.I was scared of parking so i went during the week. It took a little time for someone to come ask us for drinks and bring us bread. The food portion was huge i liked my eggplant parm,i thought i saw pictures with pasta unless thats the lunch portion but im glad i got all eggplant,it was the size of a mouse-pad. (a big one) i wanted to have the tiramisu but i cant justify bringing food home.My wife wasn't completely sold so i don't think i'll be back soon.

  • Kimaura T.

My husband and I always come her for all types of occasions and every time I come we are never disappointed. I try not to go on national holidays that warrant and out to eat experience, because the wait is way too long. But usually its worth it. I usually order Spaghetti Nonna, Calamari, and my husband always gets the Eggplant Parmesan. There is always enough leftovers for two nights though. I also love the bread that they give in the beginning. The only thing i would recommend is to have the drinks refillable. I mean its not alcohol after all. Oh and one more thing.. The parking needs to get better!

I've been here so many times and every single time the food is great and the service is wonderful. I love the calamari fritii. It's always so perfectly golden brown and crisp with a nice lemon wedge on the side. My favorites here are lasagna rustica, tortelloni amore, chicken parmigiana, rigatoni with vodka sauce, penne a la vodka. I love the warm tomato bread they serve while you wait for your entree and the drinks here are great. My bf loves their Bailey's cappuccino, and I loved my white sangria here. Try their desserts as well!

Every couple of months my friends and I do BoyzNiteOut. This time we went to Baci on my recommendation. My wife and I were in the neighborhood a couple of weeks ago and had a fantastic dinner here. My rep was on the line when I arranged for 12 guys to eat here instead of one of the local Italian family style places. PHENOMENAL! Food, drinks, portions and service AAA plus. Andy (I think he's the manager) got us setup quickly and his staff is crackerjack. No rush, everything hot, delicious and plentiful. Will come back often!

My family and I have been coming here for years! The atmosphere is nice and the decor is elegant. We always feel welcome despite the fact we are almost always the only brownies here. Now the food.... The portions are big enough for 2-3 people and I really can't complain about any of their paninis or pasta dishes. Definitely get the Tiramisu cake (BEST I have ever had).

If you go to Cafe Baci, the thought that may hit you as you leave is when can you go again. Italian food is so plentiful in the NY tri-state area that there are times you may get bored of it (although I don't see how that's possible coming from a very Italian family). Cafe Baci is a gem, structurally modern, the dishes are traditional. The restaurant is quite large and has a nice high ceiling for a big open feeling. Some of the flooring is uneven due to the stones, but as long as you watch your step you shouldn't have much of a problem. We were in a large group and we made reservations for 8:45 (we wanted to make them for 8:30 but they couldn't accommodate that). Our waitress was incredibly patient with us as we waited for all of our late stragglers to arrive. We ordered a bunch of appetizers, including the calamari, which was divine. My only request out of that dish was for them to put in the tentacles. Those are my favorite part! (Alas, a lot of people would disagree with me on that). The pizza bread is lick-your-plate delicious. I ordered the pollo campagna. It is a chicken dish with a rich gravy (and I mean gravy-gravy, not sauce-gravy) and it had stringbeans and potatoes in it. Everyone was jealous of it. And they had every right to be jealous of the deliciousness. The restaurant staff were really patient with us. We were a large party and to get us out by 11 must have been a challenge for them. We definitely let them know how much we appreciated them.

Pros: Excellent Italian family style food. Enjoyed the antipasto baci appetizer, mussels and main course of calamari fra diavlo. Great bread, great service and really nice atmosphere. Portions were generous and we all went home with left overs. Went with a group of 6 and everyone raved about the food. We appreciated the manager coming over to make sure everything was good. Cons: Parking can be difficult and the restaurant can get quite crowded. There was a line of people waiting to get in so get there early. We will be back :)

I really wanted to hate Cafe Baci. The menu read like the Olive Garden, only more generic and less interesting. "Why did people drag me to this place?" Turns out, what they do, they do decently. Even the salads have a lot of flavor. I'm still not sure I can recommend it, unless you're a space alien just arrived to our planet and have no idea what standard Italian-American chicken parmigiana tastes like. But if you're in the area and don't want to think too much, or you have kids to feed and need some place easy to bring them, I can't say there's anything wrong with the place.

This is the best restaurant in New York!! They give you ALOT of food for pennies. The food in delicious, service is wonderful from the door to the table. Fellas if you want to impress your date, I RECOMMEND you go here. Let them order anything they want and when the check comes in the book don't even open it, just give the credit card like a boss. I assure you that your date will be happy from the food and impressed that you paid without a thought. It may be crowded week night and weekend but worth the wait. My spouse loves the place.

  • Marcus C.

I was quite impressed once again. Food: the pasta dishes are still strongly recommended. Pizza bread and regular bread that is warm and fluffy on this Sunday evening was scrumptious. I would go with the regular pasta dishes over the fish items. The salmon, although good, was a bit bland. Service: Being attractive must be a Bona Fide Occupational Qualification to work here. Everyone is gorgeous, and not only the women! Decor: the interior restaurant is beautiful. The parking lot is still a bit on the small side.

Amazing food, first time coming here because the line is always out the door! Had a drink at the bar first, great service. Our waitress Leah was great and very attentive. Food portions are huge, we enjoyed our leftovers the next day just as much as the first! Can not wait to come back and try out more items on the menu! For the quality and portion size-- this place is very very fair priced :)

I must say probably one of the best Italian restaurants in Long Island. Blew Vincent's out of the park. You can't beat a place were the food is fantastic and the prices are more than reasonable. The manager is such a nice guy who greeted us as we were walking out. A++ all around!

    (5)
  • John S.

Still great destination. The only thing is if you bring a guest that doesn't like red sauce this isn't your place. They need to diversify their pasta dishes, I.e. add garlic and oil dishes, Alfredo, and maybe more steak or lamb. Otherwise excellent place

  • Amador A.

Sooo so good here. Ive never ordered anything bad from the menu. Even the pizza bread they offer as a free appetizer is delicious. Plan on leaving stuffed. There has not been one time I left hungry. Service is always good regardless of how full this place gets. Wait time on a Friday and Saturday night can be up to 1 hour and parking can be a pain in the ass but its worth the hassle.

We visited Cafe Baci for lunch in November of 2014. This is a wonderful Italian Restaurant in Westbury, Long Island that serves hearty and tasty Italian cuisine that is always served hot and with HUGE portions in a busy but friendly environment. We had very attentive and helpful service from our waitress. You must be patient with parking, as it is limited. You must also be patient if you come during peak lunch or dinner service, as it is always VERY crowded (especially during the weekends). Please note that it IS worth the wait, and the service never feels rushed no matter how busy it seems to get. We had the following dishes: 1) Pizza Amore (flatbread pizza from the oven with chicken, pink vodka sauce, homemade mozarella, and basil). 2) Ravioli Riviera (homemade ravioli with Maine lobster, pink cream champagne sauce, baby shrimp, and diced vegetables). 3) Cavatappi Secreto (pasta twists with diced meatballs, diced Italian sausage, peas, and pink tomato sauce with parmesan cheese). 4) Cavatelli Tutto Funghi (Homemade pasta with chicken, portobello mushrooms, shiitake mushrooms, and wild mushrooms in a light brown butter sauce). We all took something home, as the portions were so generous. This restaurant was a pleasant surprise and a wonderful experience, and well worth the trouble and wait.

I LOVE them! Nice romantic decor and the best Italian food I've ever had. I could eat them everyday! I am always looking for an excuse to go back. I discovered this gem from a friend a few years ago and I've been going there ever since. Their bread is delicious. The pasta dishes are so fresh and flavorful. The portions are very generous. You can't go wrong! Just be prepared to wait, there's always a big crowd but they are well worth the wait!

It's always good and definitely worth the wait. Every time we come back to Long Island we plan a trip to Cafe Baci. Service is great, it's obvious they train their staff. Water is always full, dishes are cleared quickly, they know the menu and make good recommendations. The food is amazing! We love the pizza bread. We've probably had everything on the menu by now and nothing has ever been less than fantastic. Portions are huge, have them wrap half so you have room for a great dessert. It can get loud when full, but not so bad later in the evening. It's a nice room and feels clean and relaxing.

  • Christine B.

Five stars always! I love Baci. The portions are HUGE, which is great - I get to eat leftovers for days! I haven't tried anything here that I didn't like so you can't go wrong with whatever you order. I don't think I've ever had dessert here - I don't know how anyone is reviewing desserts because how can they eat anything more than the gigantic dinner!?! Even if we share, there's just so much food! The servers are always great and the hosts manage the crowds well. When it's very busy, they put snacks out at the bar, which just shows how great this place is! I'm a big fan.

  • Jeff M.

This place had mediocre Italian food, overall it seemed a bit too "American-ized" for my liking. I really wanted to like it, but it was OK at best. ----- Pros: + very large portions (one entrée was probably enough for 2-3 meals) + bread before the meal was pretty good + large enough building to seat a lot of guests (wait time for a table was minimal). + free parking outside (if you can find a spot!) + dishes had good presentation and looked good Cons: - most of the dishes on the menu were red sauce-based, I would have liked a few more options with garlic/oil, pesto, even maybe alfredo. But who knows, this was my first time in Long Island so maybe this is the style, though I heard the table next to me make the same comment. - penne pasta tasted cheap (like out of those $1 boxes you get from the grocery store) - remaining ingredients (chicken, broccoli, cheese, etc.) in dish also tasted of poor quality (probably purchased heavily in bulk and frozen for weeks), and the dish never really 'came together.' Both of these resulted in a bland and very underwhelming flavor - dishes had way too much sauce on them (felt like I was eating a soup near the end of my meal) - staff took awhile to acknowledge us after being seated - overall price for the quality ----- In the end, they tried to balance portion, price, and quality. If you want greasy, processed, ok-to-minimal flavor, non-authentic, large portioned pasta dishes, and are too lazy to cook dinner, this place may be sufficient. Chicago has some homestyle "American-ized" Italian restaurants like this that are amazing and the style works well, this one unfortunately, cannot compare.

I've been coming here for years. And it's always so gooood. Now give me a chance to elaborate... You come in, you sit down. And within about 2-4 minutes one of the waiters puts down a basket of bread that is hot from the oven. This consists of what I call "pizza" bread and other types of bread. You put some olive oil on a plate and dip that bread in and you're mind travels far far away...and to think you haven't even ordered a dish yet! Now, I was here twice so I will comment on the dishes I ate. The first was a alla vodka pasta with grilled chicken. The sauce is what usually makes these kinds of dishes and that vodka sauce was absolutely spot on! I wish there was more grilled chicken, but I was so full when finishing the dish. We also had fried calamari and they were fried perfectly and the sauce complemented it as well very nicely. In another occasion, I had the chicken parm lunch special. They were very generous with the amount of chicken and pasta with that dish. The sauce was delicious and the cheese also complimented it very nicely. This place knows how to make a chicken parm. We also had a chocolate mousse for dessert. That was also absolutely delicious and very smooth and creamy. It was extremely chocolatey so understand it is rich, but if that's what you like (which I like), then you will be very satisfied as well.

I'm a fan! Seems like there is always a wait here, because I came on a random Tuesday night and there were a bunch of people waiting. The menu is pretty extensive so it was a little hard to narrow down the choices of what I wanted. We ended up ordering the Calamari, Fusilli Formale and the Pollo Paesano. First off, the bread basket includes pizza bread!! I wanted to eat all of it, but learning from past mistakes I limited myself to two before pushing it as far away from myself as possible. The calamari is one of the better ones I've had because calamari always tastes similar everywhere, but the marinara here is really good. The portions are ridiculous and I definitely had another two meals left after I took home the pasta. Really solid Italian, and I'll be returning when I'm in the area for sure!

This is certainly one of the best Italian restaurants I've been to. The food, the ambiance, and the attentive service, all contribute to a great dining experience. One small problem is the portion, which is too big for most people. As usual, I am trying to lose some weight, but Cafe Baci is not helping my cause! ;-)

My cousins and I always drive by this place when we are on Old Country Road and finally made plans one day to have lunch there. We got seated pretty quickly and got served some delicious "pizza bread" and water. Between the three of us we shared an order of fried calamari, the Rigatoni Bolognese and the Cavatappi Alla Vodka with chicken. My favorite was the rigatoni but the other dishes were great as well as we left feeling stuffed to the brim! Service was good and fast. We will definition return!

This place serves delicious food in impressive portions. The service is very good. The price is medium high. It gets crowded! The only problem is, the parking sucks, their parking lot is too small, and apparently the neighboring businesses tow the cars away... so make sure you get a legit parking space or park on the street close by.

I came here on a Saturday night with a party of four at roughly 9:30PM. We were greeted by the hostess immediately and was told that we had a 25 minute wait... No biggie. They had what appeared to be a huge spacious bar off to the right but it turns out that it was an illusion created by a mirrors wall.... My bad lol. The cocktails were excellent and 20 minutes later we were offered our seats... Glad they held true to their offered wait time. We sat down and plowed through the pizza bread basket that they gave us... It was delicious. I am almost convinced that if they offered them to us at the bar, we would've stayed there and just drank all night. That is besides the point though, most of us ended up getting something off the specials menu... Everything tasted delicious and the portions were huge. The presentation was also quite pretty. For dessert we got the Napoleon..... Don't think I'd get it again but maybe it's because we were all stuffed. We hung out there till closing(12AM) and they didn't rush us out. Great dining experience. Thanks!

I love the atmosphere here it's such a great place to come in with your family and friends. Coming to Cafe Baci has always been a great experience the food is simply to die for and the staff is very attentive. The food is phenomenal, the menu is is mainly all Italian. Lots of different pasta dishes the portions are quite large. So big that one plate is good for two people. If you choose not to share, you'll go home with a box that can be served as a full meal for one later on at home. In my opinion, I think Sunday for brunch is the best time to come in if you want the place to yourself they have great lunch specials. During weekend nights it does get very packed so make sure to make reservations. Cavatappi alla vodka - pasta twists and breaded chicken in a vodka sauce is my favorite!

I LOVE BACI. Every time I'm back on Long Island, I have to come here. Their complimentary bread is delicious (who doesn't like pizza bread?!), their portions are so huge and hearty, and the ambiance of the restaurant is super cozy. The margarita pizza is a must try and you really can't go wrong with any pasta dish.

Had a nice lunch here with my mother last week and i feel like nobody has mentioned this but the serving size is HUGE. She ordered the spaghetti al vegetali and i got the lunch special chicken parmigiana. Once the food came out we were both really surprised and just got full from looking at it. I recommend if you go here: 1. One plate is good enough for two people. 2. There's a sign out that says "No Tank-Tops" 3. Delicious and Good price for what you're getting

Mediocore Italian food in an outdated 1980s setting. Classic American bastardization of Italian cuisine - e.g. unnecessarily large portions of food made with poor quality ingredients that uses cheese as a stand-in for paying attention to the subtleties of flavor. Same goes for the desserts (the whipped cream has aspartame or something in it).

This restaurant is located in the neighborhood where I grew up in Long Island. I've been eating here since I was a kid. Returning recently on a holiday family visit, I organized a Sunday lunch get together with a few close friends. Not surprisingly, this place is popular as ever. There were people waiting in the rain for the doors to open at noon. The reason for their perpetual popularity is their family style Italian food and warm atmosphere. The menu is very standard Italian. Lots of different pasta dishes with seafood and meats. No matter what entree you order, the portions are quite sizable. Some call it "American size", I call it "Family style". Most of their entrees feed about 2.5 people each. If you choose not to share, you'll go home with a box that can be served as a full meal for one later on at home. What's new on this visit is their lunch menu, which I don't recall they had when I was last there 7 months ago. The lunch portions are just smaller than their dinner counterparts, but is still sharable in my opinion. To be honest, most of the food is about 3.5 stars, but the ambiance, friendly servers and inexpensive prices has always earned this Cafe Baci a solid 4 stars in my book.

So I went there with 4 friends and had an amazing experience. 2 friends had the cheese tortellini with grilled chicken strips that they raved about. Another friend had the spinach ravioli with fettuccine that she found creamy and bursting with flavor. I had the seafood platter with bronzini and calamari over angel hair pasta soaked in spicy marinara sauce. The sauce was spicy as expected and the fish was flaky and melted in my mouth with the pasta. The calamari was succulent and of perfect texture. The prices are fair, the portions are hearty, and the place was pretty packed but our waitress Celia was very accommodating and quick on her feet. Service with a smile. The only kink was finding 3 small bones in the bronzini which I mentioned to Celia after finishing my plate to which she apologized and brought to the attention of the chef. Upon receiving the bill, the manager Juan comped my platter no questions asked. Word of warning: the bread basket has a variety but the pizza bread in it is so addictive - dont eat too much of it or else your appetite will be spoiled before entrees arrive. I will be going back.

Found my new favorite Italian restaurant in Long Island! The portions and prices were great. Everything on the menu looked delicious and the complimentary pizza bread was to die for. The servers were accommodating but I do wish they smiled more. All the servers looked miserable working there.

This place is wonderful! I got the mussels in pasta sauce which was delicious! The portion was quite generous and the pricing was fairly reasonable. Only issue was the long wait for the food and the infrequent visits by the waitress. I guess i could understand since it was pretty crowded, especially since it was a Friday. None the less, very good and will be back!

Food is great, service is good and the pizza bread they serve is awesome. I got the Penne Sapporite and it was amazing. I asked if I can get some extra pizza bread to go and the waitress was very kind and gave me a bag of pizza bread. Great place, definitely worth going.

Great Italian food with large portions. The service was great and the food was very tasty. We had a large party of 8 and our food didn't take long to come out. One plate is enough to feed three people so come with a large Appetite and leave with a lot left over.

Baci's is always a good choice. The staff is welcoming and professional. Everything on the menu us done well and the portions are gigantic. They get really crowded and parking can be a struggle at times but it is still always worth it.

This place is amazing! My family came for Father's Day and oh my goodness they have the best italian dishes I have ever had. The staff is so generous and is more than willing to explain each dish. Their pizza bread is phenomenal. We had the special-gnocchi which was delicious, although a bit too thick and naseuating if not eaten with a salad. We also ordered the cafe baci salad. Which was the best salad I ever had. Their portions are very generous. With two dishes, it was enough for a family of four! For dessert, we had a tiramisu. MY GOD, it was amazing. The tiramisu was a good serving for two at least. Overall, i would recommend cafe baci. They have great food, kind staff, and its not as expensive as you would pay to eat in the city!

This place can get very crowded but it's definitely worth the wait. You can enjoy a nice glass of wine in the bar area while you wait. The atmosphere is trendy but relaxing. The service is usually excellent and the food is heavy but absolutely delicious. I enjoy their pasta dishes, I usually get one with vodka sauce, spinach and melted cheese which I highly recommend. I know the Ravioli is also very good and so are the appetizers including Bruschetta. The price is reasonable for the quality and portion size. I would recommend it to anyone. The only downfall is how small the parking lot is and it's a little hard to find parking unless you wait for a spot ( which you will be waiting for your seat to be called anyway) or go to other side streets.

I have been coming to Baci's on and off for the past 8 or so years. I was here on a double date last night with my husband and an out-of-town couple. Every restaurant has its off nights, so I'll try to soften the blow. To their defense, it was a Sunday night, and the restaurant was closing at 10 pm - we arrived at 9 pm and were the last ones to leave. But the reason for this is because we were waiting for about 15 to 20 minutes before our drink orders were even taken. We ordered our appetizers, and they came out before our dinner orders were even taken. My friend asked for balsamic vinegar, which our waiter completely forgot to bring. I guess they were pretty shortstaffed or overworked, and wanting to go home. I love their food, and never had any qualms about it. I had the penne fussi - and it was delicious! My husband had the penne a l a vodka, and he didn't like it. But then again, my husband is a very picky eater, so I shouldn't even mention his opinion here, haha! My friend and her fiancé shared a dish, as their portions are huge. For appetizers, we had ordered the tomato/mozzarella - the tomatoes were cut way too thick. We've had this dish in the past and it had tasted better back then. We also ordered the calamari, and it was lukewarm. But, like I said, I've been here a multitude of times, and this is the first time their service/food wasn't up to par. Hence, the 3 stars. It's a good place locally to meet friends and grab a quick dinner. One warning though, they don't take reservations, so during peak times, the wait time can get long. Overall, decent restaurant with good prices. Just don't come here at 9 pm on a Sunday : )

Back in January, my brother talked me into running a half marathon. I agreed in large part for the opportunity to carbo load like I were Tony Soprano having Sunday dinner at Vesuvio's. My LI peeps rave about this place and I was happy to have the perfect excuse to try it. Admittedly taking carbo loading too far, I ended up coming here the Friday and Saturday before my race for dinner. I don't usually go to Italian restaurants, especially for pasta dishes because I always feel like I can do a good enough job of making it at home with fresh ingredients. But I think I might have to rid myself of that notion. There are some dishes here that I fell in love with. Appropriately, the tortellini amore. The texture, the sauce, the richness. Definitely try this! Also the calamari fra diavolo. I hate hate hate when restaurants serve up rubbery calamari. No one wants to chew on pencil erasers. Fortunately they really know how to cook their calamari here. It literally melts in your mouth. And it pairs so well with the acidity of their fra diavolo sauce. Next time I'll ask for it to be a touch spicier but other than that, they nailed it. There were a few misses though like the chicken penne al vodka (with wheat pasta) and the Pollo Baci. The pasta in the penne al vodka was way over al dente and the Pollo Baci is sort of a mushy mess that doesn't look very appetizing. But any shortcomings are minor complaints and the service here is excellent! I can't wait til my next half. I will most definitely be back.

LOVE! I can eat the pizza bread as a meal!! I dont come without having fried zucchini! Meatball sliders were great. My go to entree is the tortelloni amore, but the ziti rustica (on the lunch menu) is a very close second. My fiance will only get the fusilli formale, but i think it's because he likes to say it

Let me just start off by saying that this review is long overdue!!! Every time I come here my experience and food selections is that much better!!!! And I used to come here a lot!!! It's a nice quaint restaurant with a great atmosphere, at night it's gets dark and intimate! Now let's talk about the food, the complimentary bread is delicious, and so is there fried mozzarella!!! There entree dishes are huge!!! Chicken saporite, pollo paesono, pollo alla Romano and the panni lunch specials are amazing are just to name a few!!!! Their deserts look good but never could order one being that I'm so full by the time I'm done with the main course, (which btw, I always end up bagging because the the portion sizes are big)! So now that I've relocated i always stop by for a bite!

My husband and I have always loved Baci for lunch and dinner (it was our first date restaurant after all!) but they earned extra points after we recently catered a party. They were courteous and helpful (even loaded the food in our car) and after an hour or so of waiting to eat, the food still tasted fresh! Everyone raved about the food. The cold antipasto tray was perfect and had a great variety of items and the baked clams kept wonderfully. The pastas and chicken we got tastes like they were freshly made. Everyone kept commenting on how great the food was! Baci really helped to make our party special and we'd highly recommend dining in or catering to anyone. Thank you!

I guess i just don't get the hype. Haven't been here in years and my date wanted to go so we went. Of course the pizza bread is amazing. We were greeted by a lovely woman who told us 10 mins and it was quicker than that actually. We sat at the shitty table near the restrooms but whatever. Our server came right over and the busser delivered the bread basket and filled the water. glasses. I ordered Diet Coke and we didn't get appetizers cause the bread stuff is filling enough. I order the cavatappi secreto but subbed out Rigatoni. Its basically diced meatballs, sausage and peas in a "light" tomato pink sauce with parmesan cheese. I just didn't like it thought it had no flavor at all very bland. Never got my diet coke either. My date got some Chicken and Sausage special that he said was just meh...The portions were huge, place was packed so i guess some folks like it.. Just wasnt' a fan at all of the food. BUT the tiramisu was amazing. The service was fine, we were in and out in under an hour but i doubt i'll ever go back. Plenty of better food in the area.

Based on a recommendation from my friend I took my family to lunch. It was better then I expected! Very large portions and great service. The place started to fill up almost immediately. We all took home doggy bags for later. Will definitely go again.

This review is based on a limited sample of Cafe's weekday lunch menu. For ten dollars, the Portobello wrap (served with either fries or a salad) was good. Opted for the salad with Balsamic dressing. The bread basket features a soft dough, thick, pizza bread with onion. So tasty that one could fill up easily if not careful. Ambiance was rustic and relaxing, with a fake cedar focal point. Definitely would frequent the place again.

It was a long wait but well worth it. They have so many different options and the dishes are all pretty unique. They did seem to seat regulars before other people that were there before them. Some people were pretty pissed about that but they seem to really take care of people. Some of the hostesses seemed alittle fake but our waiter was really great. The atmosphere is really nice and you get a good amount of food. I would love to go back!

Had a great experience! HUGE portions! It was enough for me to eat that night for dinner and the day after as well for lunch. The prices were good as well. I ordered chicken with potatoes and green beans. My entree was very fresh and delicious! And my friend got penne with chicken. It was tasty and creamy. The wait service was also fabulous. My water glass was always full and my server was kind and was always around when needed. Table was cleaned quickly when we were done eating and food was packed to go by the wait staff. I was impressed. The only thing I disliked was the greeter and the space between the tables. I couldn't scoot my chair back enough because there was someone sitting behind me and our chairs were touching. I wish they would space tables out so people can eat comfortably. The greeter wasn't pleasant. She didn't smile and I felt like she could have been nicer when seating us. If you go with a friend the portions are big enough to share and you will be able to get dessert. I got their Napoleon. It was good, but I felt like The puff pastry between the layers of cream could have been more crispy.

The food here is out of this world and the portions are more than enough so you always have leftovers. Everything about Baci is done right from the service to the specials. My only complaint, no fault of the their own, is the parking. For the size of the place the parking lot is very small and the shopping center next door can tow your car if you park there. If you don't get lucky with a spot it could get frustrating but the food is always worth it.

LOVE Cafe Baci! I was a little tentative about going the first time based on the looks of the building, but it was definitely worth a try. I've returned many times since. I don't think you can actually order anything bad here: the appetizers are tasty and the entrees are huge. Sometimes I split the entree with someone else at the table so that I can sample something new and different. My favorite salad is the Insalada Bella Vista. If you like pears and Gorgonzola cheese, this is the perfect dish. It's more than enough for me, and I usually end up eating a couple more meals from what remains. Plenty of food for the money. Definitely worth the value. The service here is great: staff are extremely attentive and aim to please. One mistake I make is that I load up way too much on the bread. The ciabatta is delicious, but it can sometimes be a little tough if it's not fresh out of the oven. Two reasons for the 4-star rating: (1) it can get really noisy in the restaurant, making for difficult conversations; and (2) parking is a huge challenge. If you go, go early to avoid circling the block like a race car driver looking for parking.

I love Baci's !!! They are very friendly even though it's ALWAYS busy, they make sure you are being taken care of. Food is delicious. I enjoy my meal every time I go there. :D!!!!! The sole oreganata is out of this world! I pretty much had a fight my mother for her food. It will probably be my go to meal in the future here because it's so good! The flavor was amazing and as always the portion is huge!!!

Awesome Italian food! My boyfriend and I ordered our Valentine's day food to go, to avoid the long wait for a table and the massive crowd for dinner . By the time we got there approx within 30 min we was greeted very nicely by the hostess. Our food was fresh , hot , plenty of bread, marinara sauce and Parmesan cheese. He had the lasagna which was such a large portion, being the picky eater that he is he absolutely enjoyed . Right amount of sauce, cheese n meaty . I had the shrimp and chicken portofino. Large portion and delish ! Will go back !

I came here on Mother's Day with my mom my sister and my two nieces. I chose this place because me and my boyfriend have came here a few times and I had also had my sisters bridal shower here, and it went really well(besides the fact someone in the staff stole one of my fancy balloons when we were putting stuff in the car, I was outside and no one left with a balloon so I know they stole it after I tipped them over $200) but overall we liked it there and decided to go for Mother's Day. I called and they said they don't take reservations so we got there around 3 pm. Parking is usually horrible but we got lucky and got a spot right away. They told us 45 minutes but we got lucky again and we were seated in 5 minutes. We sat for about 10 minutes before anyone came over, I do work in a restaurant and I do understand it was Mother's Day. The waitress came over and took our drink orders I wanted a frozen strawberry margarita but she said she only had daiquiri mix. I have used daiquiri mix before so I figured it would be the same. When I got it it tasted like vodka or rum and it was disgusting! I ended up bringing it back to the bartender and he was kind of rude and I got a piña colada instead but after arguing with me that I was drinking tequila when I knew It wasn't he said "just so u no it's going to be the same rum" I didn't correct him but I knew that I was obviously right. The pina colada was really good. I had to ask 3 different people for app plates. I feel like everyone there is really nasty. So as our apps got cold I finally got the plates. We ordered the bruschetta and the calamari. I don't eat seafood and would never eat calamari but the bruschetta was AMAZING, and I'm not gonna lie I even liked the calamari. After we ordered we wait almost TWO HOURS FOR OUR FOOD. I was getting really annoyed we had my nieces with us and they were starving yelling after a long time, and they're always well behaved but I don't blame them because I felt the same way. There is no reason to have to wait that long for 3 entrees and 2 kids meals! I usually get penne alla vodka but this time I wanted to try the lasagna. My sister got chicken parm, and my mom got ravioli in spaghetti sauce. My nieces got pizza and spaghetti. My nieces pizza looked a lot better than my dinner. Thank god my mom loved hers, that's all that mattered to me. My sisters chicken parm was huge she liked the chicken but not the spaghetti and my niece hated her spaghetti too. My lasagna was also big and I couldn't figure out where to start it almost looked like a big blob. The waitress was always running away I couldn't get her attention EVER. I asked for cheese and by the time it came my food was cold. After waiting almost 2 hours for our food we were all frustrated and just wanted to leave. We got our food wrapped up and I was waiting and waiting for a Takeout order I placed. I finally had to ask a guy for my food and the check because I hadn't seen my waitress the whole time we had our food. My food and my boyfriends takeout food was disgusting! He liked the chicken but the sauce was horrible!!! It was SOOOOOO SALTY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I like salt but that is SO MUCH SALT IT WAS NOT EVEN EDIBLE. Anyway my server later said she was tied up at another table. We were originally going to get dessert but she was soooooo slow we just wanted to leave immediately. We still didn't get out of there until after 6pm! That's ridiculous from 3pm. Happy Mother's Day, not.

My first 5 star review! Cafe Baci earned it. My first time here, although I had passed it a million times. Hubby and I decided to go based on all the great reviews before heading to a show at NYCB theatre. I got a glass of wine, larger than normal serving=good start :). We split the calamari for an appetizer, then split the Bella Vista Salad--OMG--best salad I've ever had. Incredible. Finished with the cavatappi Secreto pasta. Excellent. Hostess was so nice when we arrived--possibly the owner? Gave us a few table choices which really was nice. Waiter was so pleasant and genuine. Thanks for a great night Cafe Baci!

Came here with my boyfriend for dinner last week, the atmosphere was warm, our waitress was very attentive, and the food was phenomenal. We ordered the fried calamari and baked clams as starters, they were both delicious. The sauce for the baked clams made such a nice dip for their fresh bread!! I ordered the rigatoni la folie, which had chicken, sausage, broccoli, and sundried tomatoes and it was SUPER good, man what a great combination of flavors! My boyfriend had the ravioli riviera, I didn't try it but he loved it. The portions are pretty big, I didn't even finish half my entree considering that we ordered 2 appetizers and had a ton of bread. Needless to say, unfortunately, we had no room for dessert...

I came to this place for the first time recently, and I must admit I cannot WAIT to go back. No exaggeration, this place is amazing. I ordered the Ravioli Riviera for dinner and was very happy with my choice. The service is impeccable, your water will get refilled constantly without you having to budge, and the manager made sure to ask how everything was upon leaving. No complaints. If you're in the area please do yourself a favor and go here! You will not be disappointed.

This place is a great place to go for date night or even girls night out. There's a great bar area that serves complimentary freshly made pizza as you drink/ wait for your table, and the bartenders are friendly and helpful. My favorite appetizer here is the sampler, big enough to be an entree! The baked clams were big and filled with meaty stuffing, seasoned to perfection. The eggplant parm and calamari were also great. For entrees I have tried the calamari fra diavlo, which is perhaps my favorite dish here. The sauce has the perfect amount of spice, and the calamari is always fresh, not rubbery at all! Hint...add melted mozzarella on top, and BAM! I have also tried the Fusilli Formale and chicken parm, both of which I'd recommend. My favorite thing about this place however is the Napoleon dessert. By far, the best napoleon I've tried thus far! Will definitely continue dining here.

For the past year while working on this contract here in Long Island I have had the opportunity of experiencing Cafe Baci many times. It seems to get better with every dish I try! From the moment you walk into the REAL retro dining area and are greeted at the door by a Host and Hostess you know you're in for something different. The atmosphere is friendly, the service is impeccable and the food is delicious. Every member of the staff go above and beyond in making your experience the best it can be. Families with kids, business groups and first time daters share the ambiance in a place where it's impossible for me to say what I like best. Take home dishes are guaranteed, the portions are that large, and save room for desert! Delicious!!! I stay in the Hilton Garden so it's a short walk, go thing because the only negative is trying to find a parking spot. I do the take out thing a lot, unlike many places where you meal seems smaller with takeout just doesn't happen. The containers are packed solid, very warm and complement acted with a bag of their many breads! A place just doesn't survive being packed every night for such a long time unless they are deserving of it! Thank you Cafe Baci!! I'm closing by giving them what they rightly deserve .....a 6th star!

I can't say Baci was too great. It was ok. I got a pasta special of the day, linguine with pesto and chicken. The pesto was mixed with a cream that watered down the pesto so much you couldn't even taste ANY basil. Not even a hint, it was just a green cream sauce. I was pretty annoyed, because when I hear pesto, I think thick, rich, deep green basil-y sauce with a pow to the face kinda taste. I spoke with the waitress, she went into the kitchen and brought me out a small cup filled with TRUE pesto, NOT a cream sauce. I mixed it into my pasta/chicken and it became at least 20x better. At least I finally had a true pesto dish. However, I wasn't all that happy about the dish, because it still lacked something.. that magic "oomph" that gives it that "oh yeah!" factor. Just wasn't feeling it. Although the Yelper dubbed "pizza bread" was fantastic! I wanna give Baci another try, because of all the other good reviews and friends who've told me similar things.

Been wanting to try this place for a while. My bf took me here for my birthday this year. It was packed on a Thursday night. That's a good sign. I did notice how packed the parking lot is and wondered what happens on a weekend when its even more packed? Our waitress had a very pleasant personality and was really nice. We ordered no appetizers because we wanted some dessert later. We opted for a meat based entree and a pasta dish and ate our food family style. -Cavatappi Toscani-pasta twists with Italian sausage, broccoli rabe, diced tomato, garlic (a ton of garlic-yum)and evoo. -Pollo Paesano-boneless chicken, string beans, roosted potatoes, sausage, herbs, lemon and a ton of garlic...delicious. The theme of the night is garlic, a ton of it. Awesome! The embarrassing part is my bf made the staff sing to me...ok I get it..i'm old! Nice staff...nice meal..great bf! Leftovers for lunch the next day for two people! NICE! I love Cafe Baci.

Dined here for the first time because of all the great reviews from my family and yelpers. My first impression of the place wasn't very good because the plates and silverware were filthy!! The waitress even handed my brother a plate with leftover marinara sauce on it... Blind much? The complimentary pizza bread was good but I would've liked it toasted more. We ordered the fritto misto which came with deep fried mozzarella, fried ravioli and capelini. Pretty good dish but nothing over the top amazing. I also ordered the ravioli Riviera, Cavatappi Secret, scaloppine spirale and tiramisu. All the dishes were pretty good except the scaloppine spirale- didn't care for it. Overall, I had an okay experience. I knocked off two stars mainly because the silverware was filthy. I found myself constantly checking my plates and silverware for residue which ruins any dining experience.

Every time I come here everything is perfect. The service and food perfect. Every single time. How do they do it? Who cares... the food is amazing. Try everything on the menu. Penne caprese is the best! Pizza bread! Friend zucchini sticks! Cappuccino! Ok let's go...

I ate here with my family tonight, and we were very pleased with the food. My wife ordered a chicken salad while I had a tilapia with some veggies. The kids had spaghetti and meatballs. Everything was very delicious and the portions were huge. The only annoyance I have about this place is the lack of parking spots they have in their garage. I had to wait almost 10 minutes for a spot to open up right around 7pm on a Wednesday night.

Went there with a party of 9 on a Sunday night and they said it would be an hour wait. Turned it to be more like 30 minutes. I used to go a lot but haven't been there for about 5 years. The pizza bread and Italian bread with olive oil they give is still delicious. We split some baked clams and fried zucchini for apps. I had the veal scaloppini for the main course. We all received big portions and ended up with leftovers. Some of us split the Napoleon for desert. Big portion with thick whip cream. Service was good too.

Love this place....went last night...Great experience from the moment I walked in ...The Hostess and waitstaff are very friendly and helpful...The food was delicious ...my husband and I shared Rigatoni Liqourosi and Pollo Forestale .... Pasta was cooked perfectly and the chicken was so flavorful (huge portion sizes enough for leftovers)...the pizza type bread on the table is amazing... Can't wait to go back to try more menu items..

FINALLY, I was in New York, and was going to have my very first Italian meal in a sit down restaurant. I was looking forward to some real Italians serving us, but, no... didn't happen. Our server was nice, but our food came out so friggin' slooooOOoow. I was like "Yo, Vinny, what's up!?" (who is Vinny? Idk, but it sounds like someone there would be named Vinny). Anyways, we ate here with a rather large party for a Wedding Rehearsal Lunch. Wasn't too impressed on their food or their slow service. Here's a quick rundown on what's good and what's not: GOOD: -Napoleon dessert was amazing!! Super light and fluffy. Not too sweet, just perfect! -Decent decor and can easily host a large party -Portions are HUUUUUGE! *Be ready to take some leftovers home. -Zucchini Fritti was pretty good -Complimentary pizza bread was tasty -GET THE SALMON DISH! Very moist and superb! -Plenty of parking NOT SO GOOD: -Service was really really slow! -Chicken parmigiana was okay -Spaghetti was kind of dry and we needed to ask for more sauce -I believe the prices are pretty steep. For our large party, I think they charged $40 per person for a preset menu. :X I know, I listed more pros than cons, but when I go to back to NY, I would rather try some other Italian joints, than come here again. (sorry, Vinny, maybe next next time!)

Very nice Italian Restaraunt for friends, families and couples. The decor inside is very fancy and bright. From the moment we walked through the door the host greeted us and seated us immediately. Food was great I ordered the scampi portofino ( hugeeeee portions ) I couldn't finish my dinner and had to take the rest home. The bread was amazing as well sort of like pizza bread. Only thing wrong with this place is there isn't enough bathrooms being that the place is big ( one rest room for females and one for men ). Will come back again, very nice place, staff was attentive and there was a wide selection of food to choose from!! Good job

As someone who grew up around tons of Italian food, I know a good Italian place from an average one. Cafe Baci is by far my favorite Italian restaurant. The environment is nice, the staff is one of the friendliest I've ever seen, and the food is fantastic. The pizza bread that comes out is absolutely amazing. My mom is a huge fan of calamari and we order it at ever Italian restaurant that we frequent and Cafe Baci's is among the best. The only two "issues" with Cafe Baci are that the portions are extremely large and that they do not accept reservations. The latter, coupled with this restaurant's popularity, can lead to some long waits but I have never regretted waiting for a table here. I recommend Baci without any hesitation.

I don't know why I never gave this place a chance. I think for some reason the exterior threw me off and gave me a shady vibe, so I never wanted to go in, but I finally had to because a friend had chosen this place for a birthday dinner. Best standard - no frills spaghetti dish I've had hands down. The Spaghetti Nonna had this tomato sauce that I thought would just be your everyday sauce. NO it was not! It was lovely. I feel like if I had an Italian grandmother that is the sauce she would be making. The noodles are a little overcooked, but I think they might do that on purpose for the Spaghetti Nonna because it has been like that every time I've had it and for the other pasta dishes I had the noodles were fine. But the overcookedness worked with the dish. The noodles are all stuck together and the thing starts to look like a mess, but just keep eating because even though I felt like I was going to explode, I just couldn't stop and even though I felt like I was going to pop, I was still smiling because of that great taste. I love their Spaghetti and it is such a reasonable price. Everything at this place from the looks of the menu is reasonable priced and the portions are huge! Come here with your family! TIP: I personally don't like the slices of ricotta cheese that are on top of the Spaghetti, so I ask for some grated Parmesan instead. I think it tastes better this way! One big thing is that the waiters can easily miss you. The staff isn't that big, and the restaurant's layout can be making you sit in a nook or cranny where you might be overlooked. Had to wave my hand a couple of times to get someone's attention.

Pretty mediocre at best. Giant portions for fat people that take it home. Service was outstanding however. Food, not so much. We make better Italian with more flavor and better ingredients at home. It was unfortunate we were in the area and tried this place. Coming from Brooklyn, probably some of the worse Italian we've had in a while. Next please.

This place is unique. To me, they should franchise because I think of this place as a chain restaurant even though to my knowledge this is it. The food is very good, above average, and the only reason they won't get four stars is because of the overall experience. The place is an assembly line restaurant, just shy of an italian chain or franchise. The servers come and go like the seasons, and they tend to shuffle you in and out as fast as you allow them too. Don't let this take away from the food though as they provide an excellent meal with reasonable pricing. I have had so many things here for me to pick and choose would be unfair, so show up, and enjoy! Don't pull in the parking lot on a Friday or Saturday night though, there is parking on the side street on South side of Restaurant. BTW, the portions are HUGE so ask the server before you order, you may be able to spread out your menu a bit and experience more than you think if you plan ahead and speak with the server first.

I came here on a Thursday night and we had to wait about 45 min for a table, but the wait was worth it. The appetizers we had were mussels and the fried ravioli, capellini ball and fried mozzarella combo. Appetizers were delicious! Especially the mussels and red sauce. I had the tortellini amore which was amazing. Everyone at my table was happy with their meal, and the portions were very generous. Service was excellent as well. The only downside of this restaurant is that they don't take reservations, but I will definitely be back for the awesome food!

The portion are family size... total warning and if you think you can finish think again. Even the bread basket is really good and it is hard not to hold in the craving and save room for the pasta. The bread came piping hot and there were so many variety to try. I had the penne volka and it was so good but it didn't even look like I touch my dish when i was done. The portion was so huge that when i took home was a like those banquet froze dinner for 6 people! It was to hard to even try dessert when the dessert were bigger than your head when it was passing by me.

Good food. Slow service. Arrived at 6pm and didn't leave till 9pm. Shouldn't have to take 3 hours.

When i went in the gentleman asked me if i was with the party (some folks nearby). When i said no he said, well then can i help you? to which i replied yes I'd like to eat? It seemed like such an odd question, why else would i be there. I sat down and ordered some a crab meat entree. When it came the entree looked unappealing. After tasting it i was happy that it did not taste bad, but did not have the flavor i was looking for. the cream sauce didn't add anything to the crab either and could have been omitted altogether. The flavor of this dish def does not add up to it's $28 price tag. After my entree i asked if i could see a dessert menu. My waiter gave me the options of gelato and i ordered vanilla. Afterwards he came back and told me that they didn't have vanilla and then proceeded to give me an entirely different list of gelato flavors (than the one he gave me previously) that they did have. I settled for vanilla ice cream. Then in some unusual twist, a girl (Athena) that was waiting the other tables came up to me and asked if i wanted coffee or tea. I said no thank you, i'm ok and then waited for my ice cream. Before the ice cream got to me the girl (who was not my waiter and i had never even talked to before this) came back and put a check on my table. Seconds after the waiter that had been serving me this whole time came back with my ice cream. He didn't apologize or anything he just took the check and said he would add the ice cream to the bill. It was a very disappointing experience. I felt like they were basically kicking me out. I didn't go in there and order water and bread, i went to eat and enjoy a good meal. I wish i was treated better. The girl didn't even have the courtesy to return and apologize for her hasty and inappropriate behavior with the check. With the restaurant being so close to my job i wish i could find myself going back there, but that just is not going to happen. I cannot recommend this place to anyone.

One of my favorites, Had the mussels in garlic wine sauce appetizer, delicious. The hot pizza bread is always a welcome. I had one of the specials of the day chicken breasts with sun dried tomatoes, and mushrooms in a marsala wine sauce with roasted potatoes and mixed vegetables, great taste and came out super hot. Another special was the Mahi mahi over thin pasta, what looked like a ala vodka sauce, wasn't mine. I did get a taste though. Also delicious. The portions are great. I usually end up leaving with a doggie bag. The wait staff are always there, very courteous, even the bus boys are quick with the water. It did get crowded by 6pm. Lucky I got there early.

All in all, a great Italian restaurant. This is my 2nd time here and would recommend coming here again. We ordered the bruschetta for the appetizer and it was great. It was definitely larger than your normal appetizer and was very yummy. They put tomatoes on the bread and cover it with Gorgonzola cheese. Also, they gave marinara dipping sauce with it. It went very well with it! On to the entree. I got the verde ravioli and it was delicious. I like how the portions here are pretty big. You can decide to share entrees if you want to. The ravioli was covered with a pesto cream sauce and it was amazing. We ordered the tiramisu for dessert and can say it is one of the best tiramisus' I ever had. Period. I had my fair share of tiramisus and this one ranks the best! The service is always great. The waiters/waitresses are always very nice and courteous. I would definitely come here again.

Probably my go to Italian restaurant on the island. Atmosphere is great, food is great, service is great. Havent been here in a few months, but used to come once every other month? Salads are good, appetizers are good, depending on the pasta, some are just okay, but the tortelloni delicati or amore is good. easily worth going to for any occasion. first date, anniversary, or just a good dinner. do expect to wait on a fri or sat nite, make reservations if you can.

Decided to try this place out today. Came at 3PM on a Sunday for brunch. We had no problem getting in, were seated immediately. Water was refilled constantly. Loved the breads they brought out. I ordered the Antipasto Baci which was shrimps, stuffed mushrooms, baked clams, eggplant parmesan. I say it wasn't too bad. That followed by Ravioli Riviera, which is lobster ravioli in pink creamy champagne sauce. It was super creamy and piping hot, which is how I like it. The portions were huge, as I looked down at the other tables, WOWZA!! I finished mine but still, my stomach was stuffed walking out of Cafe Baci. The place lost one star because of the speed of service. It took forever for them to bring out the food. 14 iBooks pages long on my iPad to be exact.

First we called for reservations the lady rudely said walk in only on Saturday. Okay one of our parties arrives at 7pm and the hostess said 1hour 15 or 20 min wait but proceeds to jot down 7:15pm arrival! We had party of 9 with 5 kids!! We decided to wait because of the reviews. At 8pm we went in the manager said you are the party of 13??? What the ?/&:$:&/ No was are the party of 9, then proceeded to say (hostess) it's hard to place a table of nine together so the wait will be Longer. We were literally the last party there very one else keep getting their seats who came after us even a party of 7 got seated before us who came after us. 8:20 we went up and said it's about time why aren't we seated yet?? He said almost there just waiting for people to leave ???!!? The diners were still eating the main course they weren't leaving anytime soon!!! So conclusion maybe bringing kids to a Restaurant that has a kids menu is not a good idea they will make you wait and lie about the time, strategically probably the kids are not going to order alcohol which is not a profit maker for baci so they are not going to be seated. Gave 1 Star because didn't have the food so can't judge it but have no intentions to go back ever again. If you choose to go with party of 9 plus (two families) please arrive at 5pm and get ready to wait wait wait wait and wait especially if you have kids under the age of 10!!!

I'd rave about this place to my friends if I could, but most of us lives in the city and getting here is really out of the way. I live in little Italy in manhattan and of the handful places I have tried in my neighborhood, it just doesn't compare to Baci. In taste and portion. You get the idea that Italian food meant big portion and hearty pasta meals and Baci is exactly that. My boyfriend and I always find a reason to stop here for dinner whether it be after shopping or just "in the area". My favorites has got to be the meatball pasta and the salmon, mussels, clams with pasta. The "pizza bread" is so good, but don't stuff yourself with that before the entree comes. We always leave with leftovers. I guess it beats always waiting for parking... Every single time.

Hands down this is the best Italian place in the neighboring towns. The portions are huge. Vegetarian options are available. Deserts are awesome too. We ordered the Tiramisu and that was had a huge portions too. Definitely something that can be shared between two people. Service is awesome. They don't bother you, at the same time make sure you are constantly attended. Our waitress Erin was so nice and attentive. I would definitely recommend going here.

If you haven't understood from the 80 other reviews here, they give you sooooo much food here. I was full by the end of the bread course. 2 people can definitely share an appetizer or a dinner here. I had the spaghetti dinner--lasted me 3 other meals. We had the cake for dessert--another towering mountain of food that lasted two other occasions. Everything is wonderfully delicious. Coming from NYC dining, I fully appreciate the down to earth prices here. Also, it is true what they say, get here early on weekend nights. It fills up very fast.

Never experienced a problem except for parking. And I've gone on holidays, graduations, birthday celebrations... Someone said, "the portions are decent". To that I don't agree. The portions are large. If they were any bigger, it would be a family style restaurant. Someone compared this place to "Olive Garden". - far from it! For the same price, you actually get great tasting food, and more to take home. someone seemed to expect healthy food here? I mean, they cook for taste, not for dietary reasons. I think it's unfair to expect otherwise. That's like going to a soul food restaurant and being upset that your smothered chicken has too much gravy! If they've substituted milk and put cream instead, I would think that's an upgrade. Everyone who I've referred this restaurant to has agreed it's a favorite of theirs too. More than get your $ worth for the size and quality. Disclaimer: I'm not Italian, but NY has tons of Italian restaurants...this is one of the best.

Adorable place! The portion sizes are really big, enough for lunch the next day haha. The atmosphere was really nice. The only think I didn't like was the fact that it get really crowded at certain times and you constantly have people walking by you if you're seated near the front. The staff was super nice! They made the evening absolutely amazing! I agree with another reviewer, the prices were reasonable, a little on the higher end but then again the portion size was really big and the food was delicious! Over all, it's a great place (: PS: Parking is hard to find during the busy hours!

Nice ambiance here. Big sizes portions, there's always leftovers, the pizza bread they give you is outrageous. I highly recommend the Tortellini Amore. The only bad thing here is the parking and the assbags who can't drive in parking lots.

So as I get older I seem to have less patience waiting for tables at restaurants. When I'm told 2 hours, I'm usually like peace out! But with cafe baci, you could probably tell me that I'll be seated tomorrow and I would wait with a dopey look on my face! There is almost always a long wait for dinner and it's truly worth it! Why? Here it is: *pizza bread is awesome! Cant get enough. *appetizers are mouth watering. The mussels in white sauce are great, calamari is super crispy, fried ravioli yumminess, antipasto platter is bangin! *the weekend gnocchi special is my favorite. Let's break it down; gnocchi, chicken cutlet and fresh mozzarella in pink sauce. A M A Z I N G! The lasagna is huge! And tastes so fresh. The penne with garlic, oil, broccoli and mozzarella is like none other. And the best part, they give you enough to feed an army! *house wine is really good, doesn't taste cheap. *inexpensive for how much you get. Definitely my fav Italian spot. Oh and it's really cozy, so good for date nights! ;)

I so love the big portion sizes here! I got the lunch special lasagna ($11) which is a smaller portion of the main entree size ($15). When my plate came out of the kitchen, there was so much food I'd be afraid to see what the dinner size would look like. The pasta was hearty but not overly heavy and they readily gave me a side of meat sauce so I could further drench my lasagna. My elastic waist pants and my belly button are getting quite friendly at the moment.

Came here on a recommendation from a co worker. Drove out here from Astoria and let me tell you it was well worth it! Ok some negatives first. The parking lot is tiny so if you go around dinner time you will have to take some time to wait for somebody to leave. It took me 25 minutes to grab a spot. Some people may have better luck. When I got to the door with my friend the hostess said there would be a wait. Wait was 35 minutes! That's how popular this place is, but we really stuck with it. Ok after we got seated My eyes popped out when I saw the food our fellow diners ordered. The portions were huge!! The food looked tasty and prices were pretty good. Usually Italian food is like so expensive on LI and NYC. I went with the Penne Ricche and a glass of red wine which again was affordable I think $8 bucks. All in all the food was delish as well as the wine. I couldn't finish my plate so I took home and had leftovers. Any place that serves so much good food that I can take the leftovers home gets points! I would certainly come back again perhaps at an earlier part of the day. The waiter was pretty good although he seemed a little overwhelmed. It was packed that night .Oh one last thing. I don't know if it was because we were getting close to closing time, but the bus boy was becoming annoying trying to take our food while we were still eating. He came back 3 times with the same line until I had to put him in his place and said I will call you when I'm done with my food and then you can pick the plate up.

I am not Italian and I have no clue what authentic Italian fare tastes like..but if I were to suggest a good Italian restaurant to someone THIS will be it. I am borderline obsessed with their food.. And the mighty pizza bread. Drinks are great too. Desserts.. I don't care much about because I am full by dessert time. Portion size is very generous. Waiting lines are long esp. on a weekend, but you will walk out saying that the wait was worth it.

I brought one of my BEST Friends here for his 1st time just last night. We had an awesome experience. Our waitress Vanessa was Great, on point, delightful, & honestly helped make our dining experience a success. We ate the Calamari Fritti, Tortelloni Amore, My friend had the special pasta dish with chicken and mushrooms, & a Bottle of Wine. For Dessert we had Oreo Ice Cream Cake & Tartufo. It was ALL good. They gave alot of food and we are 2 big guys yet we decided to take home some of our entree dishes. Didn't want to end up over stuffed =) Besides, it saved me from deciding what to eat for lunch today. My Tortelloni dish was like an adult version of mac & cheese which I just LOVED. The sauce alone was delicious. The desserts were... Excellent!!! This is probably one of the best Italian restaurants on Long Island. Well worth a visit.

I heard some good things about Baci so decided to try it out with my fiancee. The portions are HUGE and they do not skimp on the wine. But geez did they have to cook everything with 2-4 sticks of unsalted butter. It's good food but I think they go a bit too heavy with the fat, albeit cream, butter or oil. Good Napoleon cake though. Also I went on a Wednesday night. Saturday nights look insane. Also the bathrooms are crappy lol Not a bad place but I feel like it was too unhealthy and not authentically Italian enough.

I went here for a date. I was surprised to see how packed it was on a Sunday night even during a torrential downpour. We were told to wait about 30 minutes, but luckily the wait only lasted about 10. The decor is pretty good for an Italian family restaurant with a nice bar areas and several televisions. The food was pretty good as well. The pizza bread was definitely an interesting concept, and the main course I ordered, the pasta primavera, was much better than expected. There were also other dishes there that I really wanted to try, but hey, you can't have everything at once, right? I think this is a good spot, especially for Long Island standards, and I will probably be back again with some friends.

One of the best places, I've been. Portion is amazingly generous, for the price. Service is always friendly. Ambiance is great for dates or just friends hanging out. Haven't had a dish I wasn't satisfied. Their focaccia bread is addicting!

I have dined at Cafe Baci many times over the years. They are consistent in serving good quality and fresh NY style italian food. Their spaghetti nonna is just fabulous. Prices are fair. Portions are generous. The place is always busy. One of my favorite places for New York style Italian food.

We met up with family for dinner at Cafe Baci last night and man oh man, did they deliver! The menu is heavy on pasta dishes but they've got offerings to suit just about any craving. I enjoyed my Rigatoni La Folie. The chicken was tender and flavorful, however, I found the dish slightly oily, most likely because of the sausage. It didn't deter me from finishing the very generous portion that was given to me and I would do it again. My wife thoroughly enjoyed her spinach ravioli. One of our companions requested an off menu item that she had the week prior and our server was accommodating and put in the request with the kitchen and the dish came out perfectly. I rarely get dessert, however, yesterday, I was feeling like a young man of 27 so I threw caution to the wind and decided to split the Oreo cheesecake with my wife. Full disclosure, when my wife and I 'split' a dessert, it means that the plate is in front of me, at a distance that is at the cusp of her comfortable reach. After she is offered the first fork/spoonful, the remaining dessert is fair game and may the odds ever be in your favor. That's fair, right? Anyway, we enjoyed our respective portions of Oreo cheesecake all the while, I was gazing longingly at our dinner companions huge hunk of tiramisu which he housed in similar fashion. Game respects game. I left Cafe Baci with the distinct impression that I have unfinished business, meaning, I will be back.

I heard good things about this place so I decided to stop in and check it out for a late Sunday lunch. Not bad but not great. The best thing we had was the Greek salad. We tried the gma pizza (soft and bland) and a few different apps. Nothing special, it was ok because we were very hungry but we won't be back to say the least.

Man is this food awesome... They start you off with some bread (like most restaurants do) but it's a few different kinds like plain italian and they also have this bread with some tomato sauce, yum! For entree I either go with tortellini Amore or gnocchi, they come in this amazing creamy pink sauce and chicken. Also, they have a bar incase you show up and you're on the waiting list. Get the long island iced tea, they hook it up!

They have the best chocolate martini!! It's heavenly!! The food is great as well. It gets crowded on weekends, there will be a waiting!! Try a chocolate martini while waiting, you wont be disappointed!

Good food. I've eaten here several times and really enjoy their food. One thing that really turned me off though: we went here to talk to the manager about having a baby shower here and he wasn't very friendly. He kept us in the front of the busy restaurant and rushed us. We chose a different location.

This place is a real treat every time I come here. There's always a bit of a wait no matter what time / day I eat here because it's always packed. The parking lot is small compared to the amount of people they seat, so you're better off parking in the back roads or side streets. The service is always great and very prompt. You know a place is worth the food when you can't stop eating the bread & olive oil before the waiter/waitress comes over to take your order. The bread is hot, soft and topped with tomato sauce and cheese. The pasta is great (all of them) and HUGE. It's enough for dinner that night, and lunch and dinner the day after. They top it off with fresh parmesan right at the table, if you want it. The fried calamari for an appetizer is enough for a table 6-7 people. This is the type of calamari where it's all not in one big ball and sticking together, and when you pick one up, you pick one up. Our drinks were refilled without waiting or the glass hitting half way. Would I come back here again? Most definitely even when I'm down to my last dollar.

After reading about Cafe Baci on YELP, we decided to give it a try. Well, the reviews were correct! It's amazingly delicious food in enormous portions! If you're a lover of red sauce & garlic, this is definitely the place for you! And that pizza bread is out of this world!!! You will have to wait---and we did, outside! You may have to fight for parking too!

Ohhhhh Cafe Baci. I've seen you for years and now I see... I haven't been missing much. First off, I have to say that this place SUCKS, and I mean SUCKS!!!, with parking. They have a very small lot on a very busy intersection in a very, very busy part of town. If you're not one of the lucky ones to catch a spot, you have to find a spot on the street near a nearby shady motel or a dumpster. Who doesn't love that?! Second, they get reeeeally busy. i attribute that to their location and their moderate prices and average food. If you don't get there by the late hour of 630pm, good luck with the wait. My boyfriend got there at the ungodly hour of 615pm on a Friday night and it very quickly became full. Thirdly and finally, they use a really heavy hand with their salt. I'm somewhat intolerant to high levels of sodium all at once so after starting off with their fried calamari (which was actually pretty tender, and not chewy), I already needed to down 3 full wine-sized glasses of water. Follow that with my dinner and BAM... it's like I'd been stuck on a desert for the whole day in 105 degree sun w/ only an oasis to quench my thirst. Needless to say, I had some issues for the rest of the evening and had to fill the rest of my day w/ drinking water like I'd never seen it before. If you don't mind the salt factor though, maybe you'll just like it here. The food is adequate. The portions are decent. And they have a nice selection of the usual, mixed in with some daily specials.

Been coming here for a long time and really enjoy it here. Food quality is really good, prices are reasonable and the portions are huge. Complimentary focaccia bread is abundant to the point of a fault. Do your best to abstain as it will interfere with your appetite. Awesome family place. Vast menu. Kudos Baci ! BTW... Service was great today (as it always is)

For THIS they lost a star- Pay attention or be at risk of being skipped. If someone knows the hostess or the two gentlemen who seat parties they will be getting the next table. On a busy Saturday night we arrived expecting a wait - which is fine and expected since they don't take reservations. The hostess that night (12/15) was rude. Half of my party of 6 waited inside while the other half waited in the vestibule. As I was standing there a party of 7 comes in and asks how long the wait is. She clearly knows him and says your table is leaving now. Was I eavesdropping? Yes. We go and ask one of the guys about our table and he says yes, it's getting ready, turns to the hostess and says 6 for this table right? She hesitates because she promised it to the table of 7 but then says, yes it's for 6. She then goes into the vestibule and says to someone from the party of 7 "I would have given you the next table but this party is all up in my face" - meaning we, the party of 6, were paying attention and she couldn't give our table away. Who was standing in the vestibule? The rest of my party. Love it. Otherwise.. I like this place. The portions are great. I think everyone leaves with leftovers. The pizza bread is delicious. For appetizers we had the Calamari Fritti (great light breading) and Calzone Bambini (the cheese was not melted enough). For entrees we had the Penne Saporite (penne, chicken, spinach, melted mozzarella), Scaloppine Spirale (veal, grilled mushrooms, stuffed mozzarella), Filet of Sole Oreganata (topped with crabmeat in a delicious dijon cream sauce), Gamberetti Fra Diavlo (giant shrimp.. but not spicy at all), the Tortellini Amore (cheese tortellini with chicken) and the Antipasto Baci.

Walked into Cafe Baci on an early Saturday evening. The hostesses were very sweet and motioned us to the bar. The ladies enjoyed a generous glass of wine, although the price was a little steep at $9 each. Our server,Steve, was very attentive and patient. He recited the specials and answered our questions about the menu. We had heard the portion sizes were enormous, and Steve suggested that we need not order 4 main dishes. We followed his advice and ordered 2 salads and 2 main entrees for the four of us. It was more than adequate. The salads were chopped and delicious. One featured pears candied walnuts and Gorgonzola cheese. The other featured mozzarella pinballs. Our main dishes were served steaming hot and prepared perfectly. Eggplant parmigiana comes out in layers, like a Napoleon. Yummy! The rigatoni ala vodka was al Dente and smothered in a thick vodka sauce. We finished the evening by splitting a Tartuffo. I would have added an extra star except it was a little noisy. Other than that, the food and service was excellent.

The best Italian Food and the best service. We have been going for many years, maybe 15. They have the best food but the worst parking lot ever so that is a factor. We were there tonight 4:30 Monday, no problem parking and no problem getting a table. We would like to go on Saturday night, early but can't get parking spot but tonight made up for it. Will continue going there for excellent food and service during the week.

Nice contemporary looking place, busy bring a date type atmosphere. Huge portions leaving you full and satisfied with plenty to take home. I always order an appetizer (salad or calamari) both good and we each order an entree. If you can get past that without unbuttoning your pants get the brownie and your done. Personally I like all the pasta dishes and I recommend anything that isn't classic Italian ( get them at Vincent's).

Baci let's you know right away you are in for am awesome meal with their chewy pizza bread. Crazy to say this but it might be worth going here just for bread. For an appetizer we got the antipasto Baci. It had eggplant Parm, stuffed clams, stuffed mushrooms, and jumbo shrimp. The stuffed mushrooms were the highlight for sure. Next time we go...we'll order a whole plate of these. For our entrees we got to of the specials. My wife loved the crab and basil stuffed ravoli with cream sauce and spinach. My veal scaloppini with portobello mushrooms and sun dried tomatoes was both huge and flavorful. Tons of left overs for us...which is just how we like it. Only draft backs of Baci are the wait and the parking. As far as atmosphere...this is hilarious long island. Old ladies get dolled up like it's 1949...young kids show up spray tanned and ready to fist pump...and married couples enjoy the people watching.

Great experience but at the end...This was the 1st time at Baci's. I came with my spouse. The hostess was nice and smiling to all guests coming in.We sat a table for 2 and we started ordering an insalata as appetizer for around $9, excellent for 2ppl. Then we got the entree for both of us. It was seafood on linguini with a well balanced pomodoro sauce topped with shredded parmesan cheese. It was a gorgeous portion for $24. We ordered a bottle of Oyster Bay Sauvignon Blanc for $24 (4 glasses per bottle). Every meal comes with a basket of warm italian bread. A good meal for $61 with taxes but... when I asked the check I got a receipt of $120 'cause the order of the last table where we were sitting wasn't closed. We asked to speak with the supervisor who was a very kind person. Just ensure to revise your check at the end of the meal to void any distractions or mistakes from servers! Otherwise the whole experience was perfect. 01/23/2013

Hmm. Where to begin. Service! Gotta say that the service and staff was the absolute best part of the experience. Based on other reviews, we knew to expect a long wait and in fact ended up waiting 1.25 hrs. The staff made it more than bearable. They remembered us, kept us informed, reassurances and totally friendly. Our waitress was great (if only a bit busy) at keeping up with the 7 of us and the manager/other staff were very attentive and willing to help us with any problems. (Even after I spilled my espresso and he assured me they'd replace it before I even asked.) Food. Bread was outstanding and so delightfully soft. We ordered a light and crispy calamari fritti and baked clam appetizer. I had the Pollo Paesano which was delicious but too salty for me. The salad (Bella Vista) was ridiculously good! Dessert was great also. The Napoleon was HUGE... literally plate-sized... and they served the espresso with a slice of lemon zest which most places sadly don't do. All told, it's three hours later and I'm still so stuffed it hurts good.

You'll have a better time if you can find parking! The fact that it has such packed parking lot after all these years is a testament to their popularity. A wise man once told me, " don't go to empty restaurants." This place is the opposite of empty. With that said I have to tell you guys I haven't been here in about 5 years. I came back last night with a few friends and guess what? It hasn't changed a bit. I ordered the fusili formale with the cream sauce and it was just as I remembered it. It was a huge portion and great quality and it's still only $17 bucks. Also along the lines of great value I ordered a Macallan on the rocks and it was only $9.50. Not to mentioned there was enough scotch in there to make a grown man tipsy. Overall if you don't mind a crazy wait (btw they don't take reservations) this place is well worth a try.

I love this place and it's still delicious but please can't they take reservations? I know restaurants hate to do that because they are holding empty tables but can't they have a strict 10 minute wait only then you lose it? something? we went and waited over almost 2 hours! we ended up getting out at 10 pm. now that's glorious for those who go home to sleep or go to hit up bars but anyone wanting to see a movie after is screwed.

My first impression wasn't very good as the parking is awful. The lot is very small and there's limited street parking. If you can't find a spot, you need to park down the road at a hotel. Then when I walked in, I felt like I was in a time warp. The decor is extremely dated. Wood paneling, etc. The menu is expansive and plenty of options. We got a sampler appetizer and the fried raviolis and mozzarella were good, however, I was disappointed w the rice balls. They were very bland. For dinner, I ordered tortellini and cream sauce and it was very good. My husband ordered a chicken, sausage and pasta dish and felt like it was ok, nothing special. Apparently, people who go here swear by it but I didn't think it was anything overwhelming.

This is probably the worst Italian American restaurant on the Island. Even though the portions are huge, they are generally tasteless and you probably be able to duplicate it yr self. Mounds of sauce on dishes is a dead giveaway that dishes are less than average fare. Go further east and there is Steve's piccolo busollo or any number of better Italian restaurants.

Do you like Italian food? Do you? If you do, come to Cafe Baci, a little piece of heaven on Old Country Road. But beware, be prepared to wait around for a little bit. Wait time can range anywhere from 20-40 minutes depending on the time and day you decide to go. Once you get seated, the waiter or waitress will bring you their warm pizza bread. I would like to say the bread is on par with Olive Garden's breadsticks, if not better. You can fill up on the bread alone and still walk out happy...but that's not what you came here for. =) The entree sizes are large. It's big enough to have for dinner, and even save some for lunch the following day. I ordered the chicken with spinach dish they offered on the menu and it was fantastic. Dish was plated very nicely, layered in a way where the flavor is even across the entire dish, and the chicken wasn't dry. Wrapped up dinner with a slice of Oreo chocolate cake. The slice was just enough for my two dinner dinner guests plus myself, so it was a nice way to wrap up the night. Price wise, it is very reasonable, especially given the portion size, but the only draw back would be the wait time. Then again...all good things are worth waiting for!

Gluttony, derived from the Latin gluttire meaning to gulp down or swallow, Gluttony means over-indulgence and over-consumption of food, drink, intoxicants or wealth items to the point of waste. it is considered one of the seven deadly sins--a misplaced desire of food Yes ,Yes, It is true that the portions are tremendous and you are certainly going to get your fill. But where does quality come into play? The pizza bread was cold. The waitress and the manager did not know what the word "shucked" clams meant! But they serve clams and make their own clam sauce? Where are these alleged clams opened? HMMMMM....... There is no parking and no valet service so management doesn't really care about the fact that you are circling the neighborhood looking for a legal spot. Hey they came up with a way to make valet parking work in NYC why not Cafe Baci? And the hostess, although simply beautiful, have so much perfume on that you cannot smell the aroma from the kitchen. Thats a crime. What am I eating? Oh! that's not calamari over angel hair pasta - its Angel Perfume by Thierry Mugler! One time we came, the waiter was fabulous. 2nd time we came, the waitress was bored and uninterested. When i have to feed my big cousin Tony, I'll take him to Cafe Baci's. Its cheap and his kind of place. Not mine.

Yes Americanized Italian food, there are some that do it well, but this isn't one of them! To start the bread was stale couldn't eat it. I ordered mussels and they were fishy and not fresh, hot antipasto was cold with unmelted cheese on top of eggplant it was a big mess.. Pasta was I guess the highlight it arrived hot at least but the sauce tasted like Classico you get from the market. Not sure why all the high ratings, but I for 1 am not a fan.

This and Vincent's clam bar are two of the best Italian restaurants on the island. The service was super fast and the free pizza bread is worth the visit without even getting anything else. I had the gnocchi and chicken with pink sauce special.....freaking amazing. The appetizers were just ok, we ordered the fried mozzarella and the calamari , the mozzarella was decent but the calamari was disappointing. Overall if say if your looking for a great Italian place on the island this is a great choice.

Love this place for there delicious Pizza Bread, Lobster Ravioli, Stuffed Artichoke and so much more. They waiters and waitresses are very attentive and love coming here every time I get the chance to. Since they don't take reservations the wait can get a bit tedious.

Baci is what it is. The place is always packed so they must be doing a few things right. The place has a nice ambiance. There is a buzz. The wait staff aims to please. The food is above average. The prices are affordable. It's a quick in/out if need be.

First visit in 1986! Impressed with the salads. Years later their menu is average on pasta, but is above average on both cold and hot appetizers, wines. Main courses have tons of flavor with priscuitto, mozzerella and many other items that pair well with their very flavorful sauces.

Perfect place to break passover. To start, they bring two kinds of warm bread, a normal italian bread and this soft, delicious foccacia baked with tomatoes and onions. I asked questions about the vegetarian-ness of the pastas and sauces. The server was not only knowledgeable, she basically told me I could mix and match whatever I wanted on the menu. !!! I ended up getting the vodka sauce with the three-types-of-cheese-ravioli dish. It was amazing. I am only disappointed that I couldn't finish it all. Had a huge filo-type custard-filled pastry for dessert. It was really good but I sort of wish I'd tried the tiramisu.

Hands down my favorite Italian restaurant. Amazing taste and huge portions! Everything in the menu is great, but must try the chocolate Martini! Parking is a pain, keep in mind you can always park one street over. And expect to wait, as they are always busy, but well worth it.

Came here for Christmas lunch with my coworkers. Nice atmosphere, big portions, and good waiter service. Some found their food to be bland. Overall, its not the best Italian I've ever had, but still good. Seems like a nice local spot for lunch or dinner. Would go back!

My girlfriend and I came here on New Years Eve. The food was absolutely terrific. We both had pasta dishes. The pasta was cooked perfectly, the vegetables in the pasta were fresh and the sauce was very tasty. The prices were very reasonable. The portions were large enough for us to be full and to bring food home to eat the next day. The only complaint that I had (and the reason why I'm giving 4 stars, rather than 5 stars) is because of our waiter. While our waiter was excellent at first and the order came out correctly, hot and very quickly, our waiter seemed to forget about us once the food was served. He never came over to ask us if the food was okay and once we were finished, we needed to sit around and wait for him to pick up the food and to order dessert. Three warnings about this place: 1) The parking lot is terrible and way too small. It was a busy night and we needed to sit in the parking lot for 20 minutes until a spot opened up. 2) If you go on a Friday or Saturday night, be prepared to wait for at least an hour. I'm pretty sure they don't take reservations. 3) This place is very noisy and a little bit chaotic. It can be romantic but I wouldn't consider it relaxing or intimate. Overall, we had a very positive experience and hope to return soon.

One of the best Italian restaurants I've ever been to. I've been here for every occasion, communions, birthdays, or just casual dinners and I've never had 1 Problem. The food is absolutely amazing. Always fresh and top Notch. Great place!!

Enjoyed a wonderful pasta dinner at Baci. It was truly a pleasure to see the old school style management happening here. The manager was always present, walking around table to table asking diners how their meals were. The wait staff is great, always on top of your refills, highly attentative and most of all, polite. Even though the wait is long, the amount of food, quality, and service is truly worth the initial wait. Its nice to see that they still offer quality and quantity for a reasonable price. Definitely a restaurant to come back to.

If I ever want to indulge myself on some quality belly bursting Italian food, I come to Baci's. The bread here is amazing. The only warning I have is to not eat too much of it (though we all know this is almost impossible) because the other food here is amazing as well. I've been here a few times already and the decor hasn't changed, (it's classy, warm, romantic and clean) service each time was great, the waitresses are all hot (according to my brother & his friends) so I'm just going to list dishes that I've tried. The pasta dish I always get is the Fusilli Formale. It's perfectly tender fusilli in a creamy almost vodka like sauce with chunks of succulent shrimp + tender pieces of breaded chicken + fresh grape tomatoes. The cavatappi toscani is also recommended. The pasta twists are fun to eat, the sausage is seasoned well and flavorful, the broccoli rabe is a great addition to the sausage, the whole dish is fresh and garlic-y and not too oily. The fried calamari is just average The mussels in the white sauce are pretty on-par. Some of the meat on the mussels were a little too small in my opinion but overall the dish was plenty and good, the sauce on the bottom was killer with the bread that they serve you complimentary. (I'd highly recommend) **Mind you, the portions here are HUGE. When I come with friends we usually order one less pasta dish for the amount of people that are in our party and just all share. I've also had their tiramisu for dessert & it is also served as a huge chunk of a portion. It is rich and creamy & pretty delicious! - You can also ask for more basil (free of charge) on your dishes. And at every meal, as soon as your entree comes out, your waiter/waitress will come with a cheese grater and ask if you would like some freshly grated cheese in your dish. Come on, who doesn't love more basil and cheese in their Italian?

This would be a five star review if it wasn't for the parking lot. In fact, if I was rating the parking lot alone, it would only get 1 star. There are about 15-20 spots for the entire restaurant, and the lot is shaped like an L with a major road on both sides, so the whole parking experience is a super headache. There are also signs on the restaurant doors that say "Do not park in our neighbors lot. They will tow you." So, ack! Don't want that either. It seems that the trick to parking is to arrive early and just sit there, waiting, stalking the lot like a creep until a spot opens up, then SWOOP, grab the spot quick before the other creeps do it first. That being said... I LOVE BACI! Once seated and relaxed inside, eating at Baci is really nothing short of the perfect Italian meal out. The portions are at least double what they should be (my boyfriend had a chunk of lasagna so big that the people at the table next to us looked over and laughed and we all kind of bonded like a big, food loving family), but who DOESN'T love leftovers? The service is efficient (there is usually a wait about 20 minutes or so but the bar has jelly beans!), the food is delightful, everyone is laughing, and the general atmosphere of the place is just sooooo relaxing. I really want to tell you my favorite thing to get here, but seriously, everything is just so so good. Everyone should go if they get the chance (especially if they're not the one driving!)

Big portions, your taking food home for dinner the next night but you're going to have to wait for it. There's always a wait for a table in this place. especially if you go during peak hours. But it's worth it and I don't say that about many places. It's noisy, big families, big parties kind of place. My favorite, the lasagna fresh tasty and can feed two people. Fried calamari is always soft. never chewy. They even have stuffed artichokss. I can't tell you about the deserts because I never had the room to eat it after the entree..

I come here with my inlaws for dinner whenever I am in NY. The food is really excellent here, with very generous portions. I am usually not one to request a doggie bag, but I will take food home from here most of the time when I visit. I usually get the tortellini. The one downside to this restaurant is that the parking is terrible - the lot is just too small for this size restaurant. We always have to consolidate into one car, even if it means we are squished, and still sometimes have to really search for a spot.

One of those places that's packed-out more for the quantity than quality. I don't mean to say the food is bad, it's not. It's simply average and overly rich. Seems as if everything served is drenched with butter.

A delightful place to take your friends, family or date. Lightly dimmed and cozy atmosphere just adds to the experience. Their servings are very generous so you can even order just one plate and share. However for me, my girlfriend devoured her plate of lasagna and only shared a bite with me :D. She surprised both me and the waitress and simply said, " it was that good :)." The service is great also. Considering how busy it always is, the wait is not that long. A definite must have!

Food is decent here Although when very busy the quality of food and the communication between server and kitchen drops off Out of approximately 25 times going here 5 times we have had food go back because of it being the wrong dish Once because the salmon wasn't fresh Another place that's very fortunate to be close to the mall If it wasn't we wouldn't go here as often

I've been going to this place for 6 years and every time I go here, I must say it's just the best food ever. Their starting bread melts in your mouth, and pastas are delicious! They don't take reservations, so get there early especially on weekends. Parking is tough too sometimes but always find parking in surrounding area to restaurant.

I honestly don't get what the big deal is. First of all the parking lot is AWFUL. There are no spots and there a thousand cars waiting for one to open up. Drive around the block and try to find one behind the restaurant. We waited 45 minutes at the bar. I was sooooooooooooo excited for Baci thanks to yelp (im a loser). We finally got seated and I had already decided what to order (thanks to those 45 minutes). Trust me, I was pumped for some Italian goodness. Bread was good. My minestrone soup was good, but I've had better at several other restaurants. For the main dish I got cheese tortellini with vodka sauce. It was ok, but that part was my fault. I ordered what I thought I was in the mood for, and when it came I realized I was in no mood for heart-clogging tortellini and was sort of craving a meatball. Our waitress looked like Angelina from Jersey shore, which was appropriate because I can't count how many times I wanted to put my hand in her face and yell, "UMMMM HELLO" Completely absent and when she was there she was just annoying with a fake voice and an attitude. I might check out Baci once more to give it another try (can all you Yelpers really be so wrong?) but honestly, Cafe Formaggio is better, cheaper, and much less of a wait.

The pizza bread was amazing always. We got there around 10 1015pm. The staff was friendly even though it was late. My wife and I are veg. So we were able to get our own pasta made it came out perfect! The wait was a little long but it was worth it!!!! Great end to the night!!!!

Affordable and very good food. Went here with my girlfriend because she was craving lobster ravioli and we heard this place has good lobster ravioli. Order calamari as an appetizer. Very standard, but (as almost always the case), it tasted good. They also gave us these mini pizza breads which were good. My girlfriend loved the ravioli. I ordered the veal parmigiana and it was also really good. It had a lot of mozzarella cheese (which is the way I like it). The portions were also huge. I have at least one meals worth of leftovers and probably will have another one after that. For lobster ravioli, veal parmigiana, calamari, and a soda it cost us about $53 altogether. Very reasonable. Service was okay. Nothing stood out about it, but we really didn't need her for anything else besides her getting our food (which we didn't have to wait long for). I am not overly huge on the ambiance. I guess because it's lower priced I shouldn't expect fancy, but the Olive Garden looks fancier than this place which is saying something. There are better Italian places, but for the price it's very good.

You know, for a large restaurant, this place has great food!! The portions are massive, so I would advise sharing a dish for sure. And you can share a salad or some fried zucchini, which was delicious. I was there on a Sunday at around 1pm, and while other people were crowding in diners for late breakfast, we had the restaurant practically to ourselves. No wait at all, and the lot was nearly empty. Good food, great value, and I'd def go back!!

I love this place and suggest it to almost everyone I know. This is one of the best Italian restaurants I've been to. I'm very picky about vodka sauce, and these guys have one of the best I've tried. Try the tortellini in vodka sauce with chicken! Its out of this world. Anything I've ever had here has been great, the pizza bread is also yummy. The wait can be long because it is such a small place, but it's well worth it. The food is really good. And the portions are very generous. You will leave stuffed and still have plenty to take home. Try the tartuffo too, it's so yummy!

I LOVE BACI!! I've been here a few times..Saturday was the most recent. In the past, i have waited a while for a table and i must admit, the parking is horrible but I went early on Saturday (around 5:15pm) and there was no wait. I love the pizza bread! They also on occasion pass around free apps...they brough zucchini fries and some bruschetta over to the table and we never requested it. For dinner i ordered the chicken special which had spinach, sun dried tomatoes, mushroom, eggplant, and prosuitto....w potatoes and veggies on the side - DELICIOUS! And the portion was huge. I had less than half...good thing we didn't order an app. Can't wait to eat my leftovers and go back!

I love this place! Even though I was very upset they closed Spasso's a few years ago, Cafe Baci (their sister restaurant), is now even better. Be prepared to wait on the weekends as there can be an hour wait for a table of 4. They offer a great variety of dishes, and they also let you customize your own dish. The pizza bread they give you is also one-of-a-kind, It's the only restaurant I know that has it, and it's so addicting. This is a place you'll definitely enjoy!

I have eaten here many times and have definitely never been disappointed! It's not a fancy place, but not too casual... very comfortable. Food comes out in generous, generous portions! Nothing is bad and the staff is friendly. Expect Cafe Baci to be crowded, especially on the weekends.

On Monday, my little brother, G, and I decided to eat dinner with our Canadian cousins again. G suggested we take them to Baci because he said it was a serious value as prices are low with very large portions. I've never been to Baci, but was down to see if it was truth or just hype... Upon entering the restaurant, i was impressed: 1) decor: very clean and modern without being stuffy 2) hostess: sweet with a watt natural smile 3) nice bar to the right as you wait for your table 4) waitress: on the ball and sweet as well As for the food, not as great, but OK. Here's what we ate: 1) free bread: plain, garlic, and cheese were included in the basket. It wasn't that hot and nothing really to write back to Canada about. But if you like free bread and variety, you might enjoy it! yelp.com/biz_photos/i8YZ… 2) calamari ($11): lightly battered and super soft/fresh. The only downside is that they didn't include tentacles! yelp.com/biz_photos/i8YZ… 3) special of the day...shrimp with angel hair in a garlic and white wine sauce: best dish of the night. succulent shrimp with a great sauce that was very TASTY~!!!! 4) fusilli formale ($17) - baby shrimp, breaded chicken, cherry tomato in a pink cream sauce: this was my dish. The shrimp was very good, but the sauce was too thick and it was like the entree was tossed in minimal sauce. I was expecting a thinner sauce and the sauce over the breaded chicken was uneventful. 5) ravioli riviera ($19) - stuffed with lobster in a pink cream champagne sauce with baby shrimp and diced vegetables: this was the second best dish. Probably because it had lobster and it's OK to have a thicker sauce with ravioli. yelp.com/biz_photos/i8YZ… 6) tritico al bacio ($14) - cheese filled ravioli, tortellini and agnolotti with tomato sauce, melted mozzarella cheese and grated Parmesan cheese: I felt the sauce was too thick and minimal as well. Let down.... yelp.com/biz_photos/i8YZ… 7) scaloppine spirale ($20) - veal scaloppine sauteed with grilled portobello mushrooms, sliced stuffed homemade mozzarella cheese in light brown sauce: this is what G ordered and he devoured it. Must have been somewhat decent. haha. yelp.com/biz_photos/i8YZ… Lessons learned: 1) huge portions: i ate half my fusilli formale at the restaurant and then ate the other half at work for lunch the next two days. 2) family style: since the portions are so large, it's better to eat family style. It's more fun and you hedge your bets on a bad entree. A life with options is good and it's inconvenient and not economical to lug 5 doggy bags back home. 3) thick sauces are tricky: generally they're not that enjoyable (unless you get the ravioli riviera (lobster). I'd stick with the thinner sauces. So make sure to ask the waitress what the deal is.... Summary: Cafe Baci is a fun place to eat, but you need to know what to order. I feel the location is a 4 star restaurant, but will give it 3 stars for now. This gives me an excuse to go back and you know I'll be writing an update very soon~!!! haha

Passed this place I don't know how many times. Finally paid it a visit. Nice atmosphere.... I had the Cavatelli tutto funghi which was quite good, consisting of homemade pasta with tender pieces of chicken, portobello, shitake and wild mushrooms in a light brown sauce. All around good experience, would definitely come again.

I have no words for the amazingness of Baci. But I'll try to find some. I discovered this gem during my Hofstra days. Hardly a hidden find, Baci gets packed even on weekdays. I love to start with the Mozzarella n Carozza, Fried Zucchini or Caesar Salad. If you're a frequent flier here and make friends with the waitstaff, they'll often send you over a free mixed appetizer plate with fried zucchini, bruschetta and fresh mozzarella. The portions are HUGE. I am not a sharer. Especially when it comes to Italian food. I want my portions that my non-existent nonna never served me, because I'm not italian. I love to share the Chicken Parm with my mom and then still have half the cutlet to bring home for my dad to eat for dinner. Also, you can't skip the vodka sauce even for the slight up-charge you'll pay for substituting. I also really love the tritico al bacio... in vodka sauce. Am I getting repetitive here? The brownie sundae is the best. They actually bake the brownie in house. Add mountains of vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, nuts, caramel and fudge and roll on out.

Love love this place, I have been going to Cafe Baci for years. The service is good the food is great and I always look forward to coming back. A word of caution, you will wait forever for a table on any given Friday Saturday and Sunday dinner service so be prepared. Enjoy!!!

I visited Baci the first time several months ago when my friends took me out for fine Italian. I remember the wait being approximately two hours till we finally got seats on a Friday night. After going to olive garden on a bi-weekly basis for "Italian Food" I've never been there since. From their four cheese pasta, to the Spinach Ravioli and wonderful desserts, Baci is the place to go! I even went their to celebrate my birthday with a party of 29 people. The service is fantastic and food makes you want to come back for more, definitely recommended!

This is a great Italian restaurant with excellent food and service. The portions are huge and the food always comes out hot. On weekends, it's always busy and they do not take reservations. However, they are very accurate on their time estimates for wait times. The main reason for deducting one star is that their parking is horrible. They need to develop a valet parking plan and/or borrow some parking from neighboring shopping centers. Having said that, I've been going to this restaurant for years and it is one of my families favorites. Good food, good value, good service. And always a large doggy bag if you want.

Possibly the best Italian restaurant on Long Island for the value and taste. The portions are huge, you always get two meals out of it and very affordable. For starters go with the fried zucchini or calamari. My favorite is the Antipasto Baci and I don't even eat mushrooms and still love it. The baked clams, jumbo shrimp, stuffed pepper and eggplant are worth it alone. The complimentary bread is very good as well. I've been to Baci roughly a dozen times over the years and almost always order the Cavatappi Secreto. The bowl of pasta has diced meatballs and sausage with little green peas in a delicious pink sauce. You will smack your lips. Other faves are the lasagna rustica, fusilli formale and ravioli riviera. You can't go wrong with any of the above mentioned and would be surprised if you didn't take home leftovers. The rest of the menu looks great as well and trust me you will have a tough time making a decision. Always a wait, but have a decent bar usually with free snacks to nosh on. Be careful where you park. Only park in the spots marked Cafe Baci, otherwise you run a good chance of getting towed.

Loved this place!!! If you're in the mood for some hearty deliciously home cooked Italian dishes then you've come to the right spot. There is a bit of a long wait, but it is totally worth it! Loved the food, the portions are big and delicious! I Definitely recommend it. I can't wait to go back :)

Before I get to the Westbury Music Fair, my first stop is Cafe Baci. The food is marvelous and the service is excellent. Great food can be had here!

This place is extremely impressive. The staff is super friendly and the ambiance is very romantic and intimate despite the loudness of all the guests. While the Cesar salad is typical, the portion is very large and able to satisfy a party of 4 easily. The homemade cheese tortillini is a must have; the sauce is perfect and the freshness of the pasta is refreshing.

This place is great..Excellent food(pollo piasano) and great service. If u do not want to wait get there before 6 otherwise u can wait up to an hour. Food price is very reasonable considering the serving size received is huge.

In the galactic system that is New York Italian Restaurants, I'd put Cafe Baci near one of those "Next stop 100 miles" signs, as it would explain the long waits yet so so service and food. You really don't need to go out of your way, but since it's there and you're hungry, you're going to withstand the long line to get in and the loud noises throughout your meal. I will say that the portion sizes are large, so at least you are getting what you pay for, but I wouldn't describe the food as memorable, pretty much your average Italian fare. The place does have a kid menu and is kid friendly, so that's something to note although I did see several couples lined up throughout the place. Why couples and families choose to eat at the same restaurant is beyond me but hey it happens. Decor is minimal and my cousin lost a toy prior to dining (major no no), but otherwise, an ok experience, as what you lose in quality you make up for in quantity.

three words "to die for". I have been eating at Baci for the past 15+ years and still love it to this day. The pizza bread is amazing and so is everything on the menu. The only complaint I can say is that there is not enough parking available and sometimes you have to drive around a bit to get a spot...l but trust me its soooo worth it!!!

Venessa the hostess was Extremely RUDE from taking the number of seatings and ignoring the fact that my parents was parking in the rear to give us 10mins before seating. Venessa just quickly turned away and gave away our seats without even confirming and said we had to wait over an hour... It was mothers day and since my mother enjoys the food there we patiently waited... I do not UnderStand why a Hostess would be rude to their customers with attitude. The Hostess is suppose to be Nice? Am I wrong? Venessa has the dirty blonde hair so watch out as she seems two face in front of her managers... and if she doesn't like her job please Quit and do not give Baci a fine establishment bad reputation and leave your mouth dirty... Venessa really killed my appetite and is NOT a Good way for having someone represent thier Establishment. I hope they do something about that or teach her to learn a thing or two about being courteous and respectful to thier customers.

I first went to this place back in May '09. I've been there a few times since (mostly in the summer for lunch) and never had to wait. A few weeks ago, I went for dinner and it was PACKED!!! The wait was 30-40 minutes which I didn't mind so much other than the fact that it was so crowded, there was no place to wait inside so we had to wait outside in the cold. A little after we are seated, they bring over a basket of bread. Their pizza bread is insanely good. I can honestly have that alone and i'd be happy haha. I've mostly got their penne alla Caprese which is my staple dish in Cafe Baci. I've also tried their pizza, which was decent. I also remember having their Melanzane Parmigiana which was pretty good. Oh, and, their serving size is HUGE!!! I've never had dessert here so I can't say anything about that. My friends have tried the drinks and said that the frozen drinks weren't too good. I'd def. recommend this place but if you want to avoid waiting in the cold, you should go after the holiday season and maybe for lunch as opposed to dinner.

I love this place, beautiful waitresses with nice smiles, a bar that always has the local game on, and enough food to send me into a food coma for a week. downsides: the wait is usually terrible, and everyone and their mother is at the bar waiting as well, so that gets quite packed. I've actually put my name in and walked to the bar down the street for a beer or two to kill some time. Also, make sure when you're seated you don't get the table RIGHT next tot he door, i was sat here once and it was extremely drafty and loud the entire time. upsides: the hot pizza bread is awesome, and its a never ending bread basket so it can get bad. I usually fill up on that wayyy too quickly. food is always good, I've never been disappointed Strange observation. The hostess doesn't keep track of what tables are being used with a erasable pen and paper or computer like most places these days. She doesn't even turn around and observe the dining area to see whats open. Instead, her and anyone else with her at the front sneakily use the angle mirror, which is located right above her, to check out what the status of each of the tables are. Its not too bad, but just creepy once you catch her staring at your table.

Great Italian food portions are huge enough for two people! The only negative is the wait around dinner during the weekend. It's best to go mid afternoon and you can get seated with no wait.

Nothing really impressive here at this mediocre Italian restaurant. It looks like they haven't updated the decor in 20 years and not in a good way. Tried the two most popular dishes: ravioli riviera and tortelloni amore. Big family style portions but the quality just wasn't up to par. Passable with much better alternatives nearby.

I got rigatoni and eggplant and mozzarella on top- yummy!! the portions were so huge it took me three dinners to finish it. and then for desert I got peanut butter chocolate mouse cake... the best ever! I'm looking forward to comin back

On a beautiful clear day, traffic surrounds you as you attempt to make your way to this busy corner off Old Country Road. It's a perfect spot to get lunch en route to the many stores and malls in Garden City. This little cafe, though not so little has a tiny parking lot in which to nestle your car and the venue is really bigger than expected. It's a great place for groups though it can get loud because of the high ceilings. I know my previous review was based on the service being so...bad. Well, this time everything was totally different. Service was very good. I was welcomed by two very smiley people who practically radiated sunshine. Nice. I like happy greeters. It makes me want to say, "Thanks for being so super!" Yeah, no seriously they were not intrusive and obnoxious, they were just right. I like that. We were seated and immediately greeted by our waitress who was attentive throughout the meal. Water was refilled frequently and the manager stopped by twice to see if our meal met our approval. My dining experience was very pleasant. I enjoyed the calamari fritti. It was light, crispy and though the sauce was not really flavorful, I enjoyed it. It could have used a little more garlic, a little more basil and a touch more of salt but who am I to say? I'm no chef but I like my marinara to have a little bit of a punch. The pasta was perfect, al dente and served with a wild mushroom, brown sauce. I liked it a lot. I could have used a little bit of fresh grated cheese but I liked it anyway and the waitress did offer the cheese before the meal so I'm the one who was holding off on the cheese. The peanut butter mousse was good but I know it was frozen and the plating was a little too busy. I think it could have been just fine with the slice all by itself. No need for the business of a wannabe modern artist. I don't think there is that much need for both caramel and chocolate sauce on the plate when the star is the dessert itself. Plus, why do we always need a huge dollop of whipped cream? I didn't touch mine at all but I liked the dessert anyway. Maybe could have been a little less stiff though. Overall I do recommend the place. The portions are huge. Be prepared to brace yourself. AND, the bread is good, served with tomato sauce and caramelized onions...good stuff. Good good stuff:)) I left feeling happy, full and really glad to have had this experience.

I've been going to Cafe Baci for 20 years. I've always found the food to be amazing. Anybody I've brought there has been equally impressed. Several friends must go to Baci with every visit to NY. Yes, parking can be a bitch, the few bathrooms can be annoying but the food and service is amazing. The food is always hot, fresh, tasty and well prepared. Expect to take half home for a second dinner-the portions are generous. Enjoy!

This place did an amazing job. What a great operation and so well managed. As a restaurant industry person myself, I have to commend the kitchen staff, the waitresses, bartenders and everyone. They put out a lot of food for a big place and it all got to the table hot and delicious. Great Italian meal huge portions.

Baci's is amazing!!! We went twice in two days. The food is so, so, so good, and be prepared to eat until you are stuffed because the portions are extra large, even the desserts. The hostess Karen and waitress Vanessa remembered our names when we went back, and they hugged us when we left...they are awesome and we can't wait to visit again. From your new California friends...see you soon!

Baci has some of the best food I have ever eaten! I've been coming here for years and always eat way too much, that's how delicious everything is. I'm not going to bother complaining about the tiny parking lot and long wait time- I only deduct a star because I wish it was in a more convenient location (ie somewhere where we don't have to drive, like Forest Hills or Manhattan...they have a nice big bar and a great wine list, a long wait for dinner never bothers me as long as we can all drink!). I can't stress enough how tasty everything is, especially the pizza bread and trittico al baci! Oh and the wait isn't too bad if you aren't above getting there by 6- my fiance and I do that often- sure it's a bit earlier than we like but they don't rush you once you're sitting, we order drinks, then apps, and don't order dinner until we're done with our app. We don't leave until a bit after 8 so we don't feel like total senior citizens ;)

Restaurant is very nice family style. Parking lot is very small for the type of restaurant. Wait is very long. Hostess seated someone who came in after we did because he like her so he state to his other co worker. Overall rate it 7 out of 10 food was amazing, and the prices are excellent. Will go back again

I haven't been here in years so I knew I had to visit it again before I could give it a proper review. I went there last night and was very pleased with the service. The food came out in a timely fashion even though they were busy. As everyone else says, the portions are huge. For me, they border on absurd. I get that I can now have eggplant parm for the next 5 days, but I don't really want that. It would be cool if the prices and portions went down, but obviously that will never, ever happen anywhere. My dining partner got the spaghetti nonna and liked it. The parking is IMPOSSIBLE. I recommend parking on the street behind it - don't even bother with the parking lot. Overall, it was a very relaxed evening, good vibe and good food.

I went with a large group for my birthday. They don't take reservations on the weekends so expect to wait a bit ...more like an hr...but trust me its worth it. Everything was AMAZING!!!!! The portions are very generous and prices are reasonable. If your looking for a great affordable Italian spot don't look any further.

I came here with my close ones on my birthday and it was so worth it. The starter bread was very good and so was the appetizer-La Mozzarella. The entree portions were so huge that none of us were able to finish it which left us with no room for dessert. Would definitely come back to try their desserts. I would recommend Baci for romantic dates or casual outing with friends.

Like many others, I'm shocked that anyone can give this place a bad review. My family has been coming here about once a month for maybe 10 years, and every experience has been positive. At worst, we might have to wait an hour. Go early or late and you'll have no problem. You can't blame a restaurant for being popular. The free pizza bread they put on the table ranges from good to amazing. Sometimes they give a free fried zucchini appetizer. The portions are gigantic. You can ask them to split a dish for two people to share, and they do it for no charge. Each person still has a lot of food. The flavors all work together well, and you will probably overeat. The chicken could be more tender, but there are no other complaints. They also allows all sorts of substitutions if you ask, and never complain. The waitresses are mostly attractive blondes, and they're attentive too. Free jellybeans at the bar for dessert. An excellent meal.

Always pass this place, finally gave this place a chance.... Judging from the sold out, happy looking crowd I blame myself for choosing an off dish. The salads are worth giving this place another shot.

This is one of my new favorite places, despite the crummy parking :) When it comes to "red sauce" Italian food, I'm very fussy. Cafe Baci delivers good old-school dishes with MASSIVE portion sizes in an atmosphere that's busy, energetic, yet it's still possible to have a nice conversation without feeling like the whole place is listening to you. It's well worth waiting 40 minutes to over an hour. Have a drink at the bar. Bar prices are average, but the bartenders pour heavy. Don't miss out on the Foccaia bread delivered fresh and warm to the table!

Finally went there after driving by what must have been 1000 times. If your definition of good italian food is mammoth portions, red sauce, white cheese and bland food you will love this place. Otherwise head somewhere else.

I've come here many many times and have always been happy, until my best friend and I got sick on the food friday night and returned the badly tasting wine. I convinced my friend, who had never been here before to try cafe baci. Now I feel bad for both of us. I decided the next morning, Saturday to call and speak to the mgr. I wanted him to know some or all of his food was bad. He acted surprised and made no apologies and had no concerns over our well being. The right thing would've been to apologize and offer a free drink or appetizer to come back. He didn't, and he lost a lot of customers over this. I will tell everyone I know not to eat their spoiled food and sour wine.

Cafe Baci is great! The food is wonderful and always a great atmosphere. Cafe Baci is a staple of great food, in a location with so many restaurants, a high standard is set by Cafe Baci. The waiter service is great, always pleasant and with a smile. The portion sizes are huge, and it really is not overly expensive when you think of the other options in the area. Dinner will for sure make you day and night if you go to Cafe Baci. Don't forget to try the wine too.

Cafe Baci is definitely one of my favorite, if not favorite, Italian Restaurants on Long Island. I have never had a bad dish here, and the portions are out of control. You can easily split one entree between two people. Some of my favorite appetizers include: fried zucchini, fried mozzarella wedges, grilled vegetables in garlic & oil , & the stuff artichoke!! All of the main dishes, whether it be pasta, meat or fish, are also huge!! The inside decor is tasteful, and the place is always packed with a nice crowd. Do expect to wait a decent amount of time on a Friday or Saturday night, especially because they do not take reservations. This place is great for date night, special occasions, big groups or if you are just looking to have a great meal. You cannot beat the prices and the portions at this wonderful restaurant! It's a must try!!

Waitress didn't know what aldente meant!!! I mean after all u do work at an Italian restaurant ! Ordered ex garlic in my pasta dish , didn't get it right bc she didn't write down then order! The pizza bread that they give u when u sit down was so greasy and they have the same bread at formaggio down the road that is the bomb!!!!! The soup tortellini at baci was terrible flavorless and the mussels were fishy ! Formaggio is twenty times better

i LOVE this place! but the wait seems to be at least an hour EVERY time i go there for dinner... only lunch time is good. i HATE waiting. MUST make reservation. Vday reservations are not accepted... i had to wait 2.5 hours on Vday and i had to try my best not to ruin the day... on the good side, the starter breads are superb!!!! the one i LOVE is the bread with pizza-like toppings and sauce! cant get enough of that! The entree portions are so big, u can NEVER finish the plate and end up haivng to doggy bag EVERY TIME i go there!!!! i EAT A LOT, i mean, A lot!!! but can NEVER finish it!!!!! my bf could not ever finish the entrees either. Perfect for two or as a family too! kids get balloons! *^^*

Was recently looking for an italian place I can have dinner with my family in Garden City but wanted a place I knew the food would be cooked fresh. I was also hoping to find a place that wasn't going to be as crowded as every other chain restaurant on Old Country Rd. but I guess that was just wishful thinking. So I came across this place and tried it based on the great reviews and I will say they were On Point! The food was great and the wait time to be seated was pretty accurate based on what I was told by the hostess (40 mins. compared to the 45 mins I was told). So if you want to eat right away, this is not your place on a weekend. But if you can wait it out, it'll definitely be worth your while. Great tasting food, large portions (bring your appetite) and very hospitable. The bread they give you while you wait for your meal is also very fresh tasting. All around a great italian place where you leave feeling satisifed and can more than likely look forward to taking home a doggy bag.

"The "Cheesecake Factory" of Neighborhood Italian" Who doesn't like great Italian food? Who doesn't like GIANT portions? Well--you've found your spot here in Westbury. Just down the street from Nassau Community College and the home of the Islanders, you'll find Cafe Baci at a busy intersection with not enough parking. That tells you something. Plan ahead--find a space and hoof it if you have to. The wait is worth it. Andy, the cafe's manager, makes a great host and the servers are very pleasant and efficient. My visit with five other colleagues was a great meal--we just ordered too much food. The Fradiavalo was outstanding and you can up the heat if you want. The calamari is what you would expect, and the salads (antipasto or tomato mozzarella) are fresh, flavorful and plentiful. Get more basil if you like--basil is good with anything you'd order there. Find the place--go eat there, and tell Andy I sent you. The place, as they say in Westbury, is "to die for".

Absolutely love this place. The restaurant is constantly busy for good reason. While not cheap by any means the food is superb, the service aces, and the portions are a plenty. My only wish is that they had more parking.

So I don't get it. This place is popular? Large portions of mediocre pasta and an outdated dining room that smells like a cruise ship. I am not a food snob but really.... come on, this place is not 5 stars.

My family loves going to this spot for Sunday family dinners. The foccaica bread with tomatoes is bomb. I literally have to stop myself from eating it all. The portions are enormous and I always end up having leftovers for at least one or two more meals. We love getting the calamari, baked clams and mini calzones. I usually get veal parm here it's my fav. The penne a la vodka, eggplant parm, three types of stuffed cheese pasta (ravioli, tortellini and one other thing). Basically everything is really yummy here.

I don't understand the poor reviews of this place. To be perfectly fair, I did go on a Monday night at 7pm, and there was no wait. But, after going here, I wouldn't mind waiting awhile for a table. If you think about it, people wait 3 hours for The Cheesecake Factory- a delicious place, but a run of the mill chain restaurant. The server, Josephine, was outstanding. Pretty, friendly, very accomodating, and quick to help in any way we needed (one of the guys at my table decided to change his entree about 5 minutes after he ordered it- she said no problem with a friendly smile, where as you often receive a roll of the eyes and an annoyed sigh). For appetizers we had meatballs, calzones stuffed with broccoli, cheese, and chicken, as well as stuffed mushrooms and clams- all were outstanding. For my meal I had ziti in a tomato cream sauce with chicken and spinach- there was not alot of spinach, but a huge amount of pasta (I would guess about a pound) and plenty of chicken as well- for around $14. My brother had the tortellini in a tomato cream sauce and substituted sausage for the chicken- I don't like sausage but the tortellini was perfect- cooked just right, a little al dente- delicious! My other friend had calamari fra diavolo- I didn't think it was spicy at first until I finished chewing- a little kick to the end that made it great. We had ice cream tartufo and a brownie sundae for dessert- both may have been "store bought", but there were huge portions that were very tasty. All that, a few glasses of wine, coffee...for $132. You can't beat that. I highly recommend this place and will revisit the next time I am in New York.

This place has delicious food! The portions are huge and they have outstanding Italian food. I had my first experience here yesterday and had the gnocchi with chicken and fresh mozzarella in a pink sauce and my boyfriend had the lasagna. For appetizer we got the fried calamari and baked clams, and for dessert we had the tartufo and iced hazelnut cappachino to share. For 80 bucks, price was great and the food was incredible. We had to take it home because there was so much food! Can't wait to have it for lunch today!

Love this place! They never disappointed me. The bread is so addicting. All the pasta dishes are delicious. Theres usually a long wait. I recently ordered to go and it was about 30 mins wait. I love that the portions are always so HUGE. My new favorite chicken dish is the Pollo Paesano.

Very filling and tasty. I had the mahi mahi and for an Italian restaurant I probably shouldn't have chose seafood but I was pleasantly surprised. The sauce was especially awesome. I had a side of veggies. It is possible to get a healthy low carb meal at an Italian restaurant afterall.

I adore this place. It's my second favorite Italian restaurant (Park Side Restaurant in Queens being my all-time favorite). Yes, the wait is always long and the bar is always packed...but the food is always good! They have a large menu with a variety of pasta, traditional dishes, and large entree salads. I recommend the bruschetta for an appetizer, it's huge and SO SO SO GOOD (not your traditional bruschetta too!). Be careful, the parking lot always fills up and you can't park in nearby lots (they tow). If you drive behind the restaurant there's a street with a shady motel- always parking there.

This place is great. The portions are HUGE, its reasonably priced, clean, great waitstaff and a nice envioronment. The Penne Fussi and Tortelloni Amore are delicious with plenty of chicken in it. The veal with portobello mushrooms is also fantastic. For dessert try the Tira Mi Su. Its HUGE. One thing that is "eh" is they charge you for refills.

We arrived for dinner around 7pm. Parking is difficult. They do not take reservations. We waited for about 20 minutes for a table of four. The bread they serve is fresh, warm and delicious. We ordered penne alla Vodka, Salmon Salad and lasagna. The portions are huge and I'd recommend sharing. I've been going to this restaurant for many years and it continues to be excellent. There is a nice bar scene too. Highly recommended!

I've come to this place a lot and have never been disappointed. I love the food and they give a big portion for what I order. Prices are very fair. I either get the calamari fra davolo or the pollo alla romano. The calamari pasta dish is my fav of the two. Only thing is that the taste is not consistent, you can tell when it is a different chef-sometimes it is much spicier, sometimes more garlicy, sometimes more tomato-y... but all times still good. I've tried a bunch of other things on their menu too, but I didn't like them as much. Their other pasta dishes aren't as big either. I take out and can only sit inside and eat once in a blue bc I have no patience for crowds. The lot is always full and there is usually a wait. Oh and I love the pizza bread they give you to start. Would definitely recommend this place.

Love this place and my sister is O-B-S-E-S-S-E-D. Portions are big, so it's great for family style dining. The pizza bread is amazing. Basically, listen to all the wise reviewers before me. When I come with my sister we like to get the fried calamari (SO GOOD HERE) and share two entrees (usually the tutto funghi and some other pasta we're feeling that day...) Best part about this place? It's perfect for.... DOUBLE DINNER!!!!! What's double dinner, you ask? Double dinner- when you eat at a restaurant but they give you so much food, you take a good portion of it home... by the time you get home, you've cleared some room in your stomach and can eat 2nd DINNER (the best meal of the day)... sometimes this stretches into 3rd breakfast or 4th take-to-work-lunch.

If you haven't been here... YOU'RE MISSING OUT!!! This place hands down the best Italian food I have ever had in my life. I was so proud to leave such a big tip because it was well deserved. The staff is well attentive and don't rush you out on a busy night, seem to know when to come by when you need something, and they are just so friendly. I have to say I felt like I was home eating an amazing dinner with great company, the place has a great ambiance. I will definitely come back to this place and advertise to everyone I know.

If you're looking for bang for your buck, you will want to go to Baci Cafe. The layout of the restaurant is perfect for a romantic (albeit louder) meal--mood lighting, (fake) candles, subtly calming amber motif, and a serving staff that knows how to treat people with promptness and good attitude. Went here for a family dinner and did not break the bank at all. Upon first opening the menu, pricing may seem a bit expensive, but don't be fooled; the portion sizes are large. Every entrée on the menu can easily serve 2-4. For a family of 5 hearty eaters, portion size is important. They fit the bill. Baci excels at the standard Italian Restaurant fare, with soft, cheese drenched Parmesan dishes, to nicely plattered seafood entrees. The selection is wide, and flavor palettes expansive.

Pros: Good ambience, yummy calamari, attentive staff Cons: Pizza bread was seriously overrated or we had a bad batch, our tortellini pasta was undercooked I came here with my sister and cousin. Maybe we'll give them another try and order something different; we really wanted to like it given the great reviews. Maybe we came on an off night (Wednesday)

Awesome dinners and desserts! My husband and I were just passing through Westbury for a show at the NYCB theater and stopped here for dinner. Reasonable prices for HUGE portions. We sat by the open kitchen and could see everything that was coming out, and it all looked terrific. Gigantic lasagne and chicken Parm, and the Napoleon dessert was AMAZING!!!! We were seated and served quickly even on a Saturday. If I'm ever back in the area I will definitely be a repeat customer.

Stopped here for dinner at the end of a Sunday trip to the suburbs. The reviews were mostly glowing and the restaurant was packed (mostly older adults). There is very limited parking and we had a half hour wait for a table. Both Chianti options by the glass were barely drinkable. The portions are huge, bigger than Texas. We each had salads, one fish and one chicken entree. Huge! There must have been two cups of cooked spinach under two filets of Sole. Tons of roasted potatoes. We ate about a third of our entrees and took a tiramisu to go. Everything was seasoned well, served quickly, and fresh. A step above Olive Garden.

This place is amazing. The bread they give you to start off with is so flavorful and so good. Service is decent. My favorite item on the menu is the Ravioli al Verde. So tasty. Their penne a la vodka is on point and their fried zucchini is so good. Place gets busy on weekends and they don't take reservations.

I wanted to try Cafe Baci after my daughter brought home leftover spaghetti one day and I basically wound up eating the entire container. I went for lunch on a Sunday and was seated immediately. The food was served about ten or fifteen minutes after we placed our order and was freshly prepared. I ordered chicken parmesan and others had ordered lasagna and spaghetti and meat sauce. Everything was perfect! The chicken was moist and tender. The sauce was delicious and lasagna was on point. I will definitely go back when i'm craving Italian food as there is so much on the menu that I 'd like to try. 5 stars!

Great food, huge portions. Downsides which are significant: wait of 1+ hours is not uncommon. No reservations taken, and you will not be seated until your entire party arrives. Parking is woefully inadequate for a restaurant that does the tremendous business that this one does. Only one bathroom each for men and women. A line for the bathroom is inevitable- again this is inadequate for a restaurant with this volume of business. Would go again, but earlier in the day where we spent more time searching for parking and waiting for table rather than enjoying the great food. On food alone, it's definitely worth it.

Great Italian food! And the service is exceptional. I've had Lauren as a waitress twice and she is a gem. The food is delicious and always have leftovers for the next day. They give you a lot. Their bread is to die for. I always take some home with my leftovers

I stopped in between lunch and dinner hours and was immediately seated at the bar (at my request). The bartender Marissa was friendly and attentive; in fact, the entire staff seemed friendly which made for a very pleasant atmosphere. I ordered the Cavatappi Secreto. It was served hot and the secret pink tomato sauce was great! There portions are large too. I also liked the simplicity of the menu. I did not feel overwhelmed, yet there seemed to be so many appetizing items.

Went here yesterday for a late lunch and as soon as we walked in the hostess was warm and friendly. As we sat down, the waitress brought us a bread basket, the pizza bread was stale it tasted like it was reheated ugh!! not sure what the hype is all about with the pizza bread because i've tasted way better pizza bread...try the pizza bread at Prima Pasta Cafe in Howard Beach Queens you will thank me later! We ordered Fried Calamari for Apps and the Fried Calamari was the highlight of the day! it was light, crispy and delicious!. For our entrees, we ordered Pollo Paesano and Ravioli Riviera, The Pollo Paesano was very bland and dissapointing and would not order it again! The Ravioli Riviera was much better, it is stuff with lobster in a pink cream sauce with baby shrimps and vegetables..We had to take the leftovers home because it was to much food!...we will probably go back to try other dishes on the menu but as of now this restaurant is ok but not great!!

I fantasize about the gnocchi from this place. Yea, it's that yummy. Their food is amazing, their service is pretty good as well. They're packed Friday nights and weekends though so if you're going expect a long wait sometimes. It's totally worth it though because the food it just that good. I definitely recommend.

When I think Italian no GOOD Italian food I think of this place. Staff is great and food is even better. I sget the torillini amore with shrimp. This place is the ONLY place that can make a mean amartto sour. You cant finsh your main course cause its so much food. Cant wait to go back!

Delicious food. Very large portions. Nice and friendly staff. A little expensive and parking is tough on weekends bc the lot is so small. The inside is small and can feel cramped. The penne saporite dish is excellent.

I've been coming to this restaurant since 1996 and I have always loved the food. But a few weeks ago I tried ordering a couple of kids meals for pick up since my kids really like the food and I was told by the manager that I couldn't order kids meals without ordering an adult meal. Usually we do but this time me and my wife had eaten already and we just wanted food for the kids. I think it's very petty for the restaurant to do this. The worst part was telling my kids they couldn't have the food they wanted and having to figure out what else they wanted to eat. . Anyone who has kids understands how difficult this can be. I think the restaurant owners should think about changing this policy. Until then, I'm going to boycott this restaurant. By the way I would order food for takeout very often and we would eat at the restaurant as well. I think I'm going to start going to Piccola Bussola in Mineola from now on. I see it as their loss and I'll be sure to tell my friends and family what happened.

My friend is a die hard Baci fan. This was the 2nd time I've been here, I'd probably come more if I had a car and didn't live in the city. The fact that I don't is a blessing. Minus one star for our wait time, over 30 minutes for a table of 4 on Saturday night [which by no means terrible, just annoying]. They also don't take reservations apparently [wtf?]. The bar area is just big enough to accommodate people waiting. I had the Bellini [champagne, peach, and a maraschino cherry at the bottom], $8. I hate on Long Island all the time, but this drink was actually really well made and hit the spot. They also offer some trail mix and vegs with dip at the bar [free of charge], which is good because you'll be starving while you wait. The food is ridiculously amazing. The bread basket is filled with pizza bread with cheese melted on top and crusty rustic bread [CRB for those who don't know]. I can eat a whole bread basket by myself and then some. We shared the Mozzarella in Carrozza [$8] which was .........incredible, no words to describe it. The deep fried cheese inside with the crispy coating on the outside. Just ridiculous. I also really love that they serve the marinara sauce on the side, otherwise the coating can get soggy. We also shared the Fried Zucchini [$8] which was good, but could have used more salt and a thicker coating. The portions are HUGE. You will have leftovers for days unless you share. I am an eater, I will not share, and am only able to feverishly devour about 1/4th of a dish. I had the Trittico al Bacio [$14] and subbed the tomato sauce with vodka sauce and added grilled chicken [best decision of my life!]. This dish is cheese and pasta heaven, raviolli, tortellini, and agnolotti filled with cheese, melted mozzarella cheese on top, and grated parm ON TOP of that. R.I.D.I.C.U.L.O.U.S. Dessert was fine. I had the tartufo, which is pretty standard at an Italian restaurant, it's a decent size to eat by yourself or share. Though I'm not sure you have room for dessert after the mammoth portions they call entrees. Service is standard, food comes out in a timely manner, our waitress was really nice. They kept refilling our water glasses at a steady rate, perhaps too much ice, not enough water. Really, it's nothing to complain about. The bill was really reasonable, $30 pp add $5 for tip. I will be eating my leftovers when I get home.

Now this place knows how to cook amazing tasting Italian food! The bread and pizza were baked perfectly too! I ordered Chicken with blood sausages and grilled vegetables. The chicken was both tender and juicy. The chefs obviously know how to ensure that food is not over-cooked or under-cooked. The sausages with the grilled vegetables were the perfect compliments to this dish. My friends' ordered a pasta dish and a salad. Both were just mouthwatering. Another plus to this place is the decor is really nice it has that fancy yet casual feel to it. And the portions are generous!!!! When I start driving I will come here a lot more often. This is a great spot to go after shopping at RFM. Not to mention the staff was very attentive and friendly. The only con is I wish this place had a bigger parking lot!!! It's a really tiny lot.

For the value, BEST RESTAURANT ON LONG ISLAND. The prices are insane for the huge portions, easily 2-3 meals from one plate, and the food is great. Staff is always courteous. Keep in mind, no reservations.

I've been here a dozen times, and frankly, if you don't like the food....we can't be friends. It's garlicky, sauce-y & just plain amazing pasta. It doesn't look like a very appealing place from the outside, but do yourself a favor and come in. Try the bread, and order pasta. Don't order chicken. Don't order a stupid salad. You will have left overs and you will make every one at the office super jealous the next day. Service is good - I've never had an issue. Waters always refilled & friendly staff. Ambiance is nice & simple, nothing too crazy. You won't even care what it looks like when you try the pasta.

Love this place! Always crowded (they do not take reservations for small parties and the wait is usually over an hour) and parking is tough but the food is worth it! Huge portions and pasta is always cooked perfectly.

2nd time coming here and we sat at the same exact table, what are the chances?! This place doesn't take reservations and was about a 35 minute wait on a Sunday evening...and it gets really packed. It has a nice bar area with TV, table, couch and chairs for us to sit, chat and wait. Once we sat down, the waiter brought out the cheese breads- it was OK- soft, and somewhat warm. But don't overeat- because the entree portion is HUGE! The waiter took a while taking our order, so we were just munching the breads & dippin in olive oil until our orders were taken. Food came in a timely fashioned manner. I ordered the Filet of Sole Oreganata- which is topped with crabmeat, parmesan, bread crumbs served over sauteed spinach, roasted potatoes with a dijon cream sauce..YUM Some of the other things we ordered were: - Pollo "Baci"- chicken breast covered with melted Italian white cheeses, cream sauce, zucchini, eggplant and a touch of tomato sauce -Pollo Campagnola- boneless chicken pieces with peppers, roasted potato and onions, sauteed in garlic and oil -Melazanne Parmigiana- breaded eggplant layered with parmesan and ricotta cheese, fresh tomao sauce baked with mozzarella + topped with white sauce! -Penne Fussi- penne with grilled chicken breast, chopped brocolli florets, sun dried tomato garlic and oil + pesto, baked with mozzarella -Rigatoni with vodka sauce All the dishes were very good, tasty and HUGE!! The price is very reasonable and this is definitely a place to visit if you're in the area craving for some good Italian food.

We like going to Baci, the food is good but the service is not so great. We were there to celebrate my son's birthday and I have ordered a special cake for him from a bakery. When it was time for the cake, the cake came out damaged where the frosting was off. It was obvious that they put something on top of the cake box and it was too heavy. I confronted the waiter and I told him I was very disappointed and he didn't even apologize. My family order the following and here is the verdict: 1. Pollo Paesano - combination was good but heavy on salt. Had to drink lots of water. 2. Ravioli Riveira - the ravioli itself was good but it was drown with too much sauce 3. Spagetti Solari - Pasta was nice again it was mixed with a bit too much sauce 4. Mussel for appetizer - cooked with lots of garlic and butter, but the mussel was small - about half an inch 5. Cavetelli Tutto Funghi - pasta was fresh and the mushroom combination was good. 6. Scampi Portofino - This dish was made with larger shrimp than the Solari and it was better since it wasn't drown in marinara sauce. If you like seafood, this dish is better to order. 7. Penne Fussi - pasta was fresh with too much salt Hope this help everyone out there.

My wife's favorite Italian spot. I concur. great family sized meals, really reasonable pricing and we always waddle out the door pretty darn full. only thing I would change is the size of their parking lot. I get worried they would tow me from the Chinese food spot next door. why are you so popular???

Me and my friends were starving when we FINALLY stumbled upon this place! We came from Queens and because of the snow and fog, we had trouble seeing, got lost, and our GPS signal was completely down. But as soon as we got in, we were seat- it wasn't crowded at all. The crowd were older folks, but hey, no big deal- seemed like it would be an enjoyable place where one can have a quiet intimate meal, catching up with friends or on a date. We all got appetizers: mine were the fried mozzarella - they were six hearty wedges, thickly breaded, crispy, hot, with lots of flavor in the bread crumbs. I also got a cesar chicken salad (I did say I was starving! Lol), and it was creamy Cesar dressing which is my favorite, and both portions were big, big enough to suffice for a full meal. I didn't even realize the portions would be that big, so I got chicken parm for lunch- that was a big portion of Rigatoni and a large piece of breaded chicken covered with a thick layer of Mozz cheese. Oh, I should mention that the bread bowl they brought to the table had a tasty baked foccacia type thing, that almost tasted like pizza breadsticks, with a very light tomato sauce flavor, and crispy bite to the bottom. I ate a good 4-5 pieces, but didn't want to stuff myself too much on bread. Now, onto the actual service- water glasses were consistently refilled, so even in my guzzling thirst , well it was constantly quenched! Our main waiter, Chris, had excellent memory- took our orders, which consisted of 3 main courses, 4 appetizers, and remembered them. My friend was firm that he would make a mistake, as that has happened to him in the past. The food arrived in perfect timing- we chatted for maybe 10 minutes? Then the appetizers arrived. About 15 - 20 minutes of hearty chowing, the main dishes popped out. Better than things taking too long or everything arriving at once, right? Even when we wanted things boxed up, then our check, then paying our bill, he came around in a very timely fashion, rather than us having to flag him down. And it's a spacious restaurant, so this guy was obviously checking in on us frequently, which I appreciated. But he also wasn't overly attentive, like popping by 10 times in the course of 1.5 hours, while we have food in our mouths, on our faces. Everyone hates when that happens, I'm sure!!! The overall decor was warm, almost old in a comforting,s oothing, family oriented way.Lastly the bathrooms was a small, clean, single bathroom, one for men and one for the women. Clean toilet, no smells, soap in the dispensers, had toilet paper, and dark lighting, and didn't feel cold with bright, dull lighting that makes me want to get out of there fast! Not like I try to linger in bathrooms or anything like that, but I felt comfortable, could take my time, wash my hands, check/play with my hair, and not feel grossed out by potential bugs ready to attack me like in other dirty establishments. Worth another visit for sure, granted I'm in the area of course.

Whenever we are out in Long Island we go to Cafe Baci. I think the place is great, cute for date night with the dim lights, place is always packed on the weekends at night but worth waiting for that's if you have to wait. Food fantastic. I usually get the Scampi Portofino the shrimp are nice and big and the portions of the food are great I always have lunch for the next day. My favorite Italian place in Long Island.

Came here for Valentine's Day with my gf and had a great time! Food was cooked perfectly. Our waitress was Lauren who took care of us in everyway a waitress should. Always there when we needed refills, but not on top of us constantly asking how everything cane out and not letting us enjoy our night. She was fun and easy going. Very polite and really made the night that more special. Would highly recommend her as a waitress. I had the Pollo Baci and my girlfriend had the Penne alla vodka which I have been coming here for the past 3 years now and they are probably my 2 favorite dishes here...Always consistent and a lot of food! Everytime I come the place gets better, the people are so friendly, the food is amazing, the decor is classy and the atmosphere makes u really feel like you're with family at home. All in All Fantastic and can't wait to come back!

Great Italian food! The portion sizes are generous. The staff is friendly and the ambiance is perfect for any gathering. The chicken parm, Lasagna are delicious! The lasagna slices are the size of a huge brick!! The cavatelli secreto and Spaghetti Nonna are delish, everything here is spot on and on point! Andy, the manager is a super duper nice guy and will take good care of you. Like I said, portion sizes are very generous and delicious. The only down size is the parking lot is small so get there early to secure a spot. Don't park at the adjoining strip mall. Its not same place. Go to Baci, you will not be disappointed.

4.5 stars! THIS place is as good as it gets for Italian food. Super fresh, large portions, amazing selection, and old school decor. I pass by this restaurant probably once a week for the past 22 years but never went in. I dont know what I've been waiting for... I remember when I was a kid I would see people crawl, not literally, out the front door looking so stuffed from a dinner. From the outside it may not be the most appeasing structure to look at but once you walk in, it has a very "warm" vibe. The wait was only 15 min but it was packed and the parking lot...was full so we had to just wait around until we got a spot.. The pizza bread wasn't that great as everyone says it to be. but everything else to dieeee for. Who cares about eating a weeks worth of carbs here, the calories and everything TOTALLY WORTH IT. We got the simple margherita pizza which was AMAZING not to thin not too thick, the crispy and large calamari, Penne Fussi, and Speghetti Nonna. I loved every single dish. The portion sizes are huge it was us four. we ordered one appetizer, one pizza, two pastas and it only came out to be $65 give or take. I will definitely be here again. Probably once a week...if I can just drag myself to the gym.....

My girlfriend and I love this place and it's our favorite spot to go on long island. As others have mentioned the portions are huge so I recommend sharing! Their pizza bread is amazing, especially when it just comes out, and their vodka sauce is phenomenal! Every time we go we order the same thing and I HIGHLY recommend everyone on here try it as it is not on the menu. We get fettuccine, because it is handmade so it's soft and melts in your mouth, with a spicy vodka sauce and baked mozzarella on top. Some of the waiters/waitresses might ask what you mean by spicy just tell them to add red pepper flakes to the sauce when they make it. I also like to get some extra fresh basil on the side (my girlfriend isn't a big fan of fresh basil like I am). This meal is WOWWW!!! but as stated it is big and it is kind of heavy so be prepared to share The staff is extremely friendly and the only issue is really the parking, especially on a weekend night. Be prepared to wait for a spot

Solid food, truly massive portions. I'd come back if I was in the area. The bread basket was great. I ordered the mussels in a white wine sauce. The sauce was a little thicker then I'm used too, I think they added a bit more butter then was necessary, but it was also full of roasted garlic which was nice. I wasn't a fan of the fried mozzarella, I thought the breading was under seasoned and too thick. The steamed vegetables in garlic and oil were good and could be a meal in and of itself (zucchini, potatoes, broccoli, string beans, and carrots- comically large portion for an appetizer). I ordered the ravioli riviera: lobster ravioli in a pink champagne cream sauce with shrimp. I love creamy dishes and this was super creamy, but I felt it was a little sweeter then it should have been. My friend ordered the fettuccine primavera- pasta in a pink cream sauce with vegetables and chicken. Again the dish was very creamy and rich, and on the sweet side. Service was great and we didn't have a problem getting seating as we went for a late lunch around 4pm on a Monday.

Great food, great prices. They will give beyond what you pay for. You will without a doubt bring food home because you will not be able to finish it all, you will try to finish it even when you are full because the food is sooooooo good.

Excellent food and service. Did not notice any delays when dined on a Aug Saturday, 4 pm. Busboys were lined up and we felt that they were getting ready for dinner hour. Dinner portions were large and we took some home. We had ravioli, chicken paesano, chicken forestala, meatballs, calamari and cold antipasta. Everything was great, yet as half-italian NYer spanish guys who use their aztec spices, nothing is authentic.

Let me just state that I really love this place. I found it really hard not to give them more stars. There was a wait when we came. We were told about a 45 minute wait, but all 3 of us really like this place so we decided to wait. After about 20-25 minutes of waiting outside, we noticed a family of 5 arrived. About 5 minutes later they were seated before us. I was a little unhappy so i went in to check to see if they missed my name and saw the list the family that was just seated were 4 names under my name. I don't know why they gave priority to this family. Two minutes after i checked the list, we were seated. We were brought to our table.....a table that was set for 5 people. It was one of those square tables that can be converted to a round table. It wasn't full converted so half of the table was for a round table and half was squared. We then sat and watch the busboy fling, YES FLING, kinda tossed, a small plate and all 3 water glasses. The busboy was upset or unhappy about something and we all felt it. I felt a little unconfortable at this point because he gave all us an awkward stare. The menus were then given to us and at this point the bread and the pizza bread are usually given at the same time. But that didn't come until i asked for it twice! When it finally came it only had 2 pieces of pizza bread and 2 pieces of bread. There 3 of us seating here guys! Our server, Nadia arrives and take our order with a very friendly smile and a hello. Finally things are getting better. We ordered the fried calamari for the whole table. My friend ordered the Lobster Ravioli, my wife ordered the Cavatelli Tutto Funghi and i ordered the Fusilli Formale. The fried calamari was good. My friend even said that he hasn't had calamari like this in a long time. My wife and my friend didn't have any complaints on their dishes and we knew that because we had this dishes before. This was my first time i ordering my dish, but Nadia (our server) mentioned that this is her favorite and its good. Well, she didn't lie. The Fusilli Formale might be my new favorite dish. It had Fusilli with baby shrimp, breaded chicken, cherry tomato in a pink cream sauce. We WILL be coming back to Cafe Baci and I hope to update my review.

Cafe Baci is a great restaurant for a romantic dinner at reasonable prices. Their food is authentic Italian fare and the portions are on the larger side. Actually, their food is AMAZING! We have had many of their dishes over the years and not one has been a disappointment. They are all delicious! We have had specials, penne alla caprese, pasta primavera, eggplant rollatini, and many, many others. We have taken our daughters there but only for a very early dinner (around 4-4:30pm). It's just not a place to take the kids during prime dinner time. Service is great and the servers do everything they can to make it a wonderful dining experience. I love everything about Cafe Baci!

We went here for the first time with some friends on Saturday night. We waited for an hour to be seated because we had a party of six. Couples of two were seated right away, so if you don't want to wait long on a Saturday night don't bring a big group. We ordered mojito from the bar while we waited which were really good! Once we were seated the waiter brought over the bread basket with amazingly delicious pizza bread and plate of zucchini fries and bruschetta on the house compliments of the manager who came over and apologized for the long wait and thanked us for our patience. We ordered the gnocchi with chicken in cream sauce. I enjoyed the gnocchi definitely one of the better I've had, but not the best. Overall, it was a good night out with friends with great food and good drinks! I especially loved the large portions!

Another great local Italian restaurant. The portions are large and the prices are reasonable. Even the wine is priced appropriately. The one bad thing is that since it is such a good place, it is always crowded and the average wait is about 30 - 45 minutes, but if you have the time, it is well worth it.

My mother loves Bacci's. So when she said she wanted to go there instead of Grand Lux ( which I suggested ) I acquiesced. And boy was I disappointed. Not only did the US lose to Belgium that day, but both my mom and I ordered the stuffed Sole....that wasn't stuffed with anything but bread crumbs. It was supposed to be stuffed with crabmeat and shrimp but those ingredients were non existent. Furthermore, my mother pointed out that the fish is usually fresh but this tasted frozen. What a waste of 123.00 bucks. Only reason why it gets two stars is because my baby son enjoyed the pizza and Oreo ice cream cake which was a substitute because they didn't have the Oreo cheesecake that was on the menu. I knew my mom was dissapoint when she only ate 1/4 of her meal.

If you must have Italian food continue west on Old Country Rd to Vincent's Clam Bar on the right side. Yes they have long waits during peak times and the seating is tight but the food is much better and worth the wait. In addition, you can buy the jars of sauce to take home. I always buy two jars of medium spicy on the way out.

I've been here so many times for the last two years that I don't even know where to start. Must have appetizer = fried calamari. Big portion, crispy coating, and meaty on the inside. I'd like to say everything on the menu is good but honestly haven't tried them all since I always get the same thing: Cavatappi secreto. Really good flavor with fresh peas, yummy sausage, and delicious sauce. Tortelloni Amore, their signature dish, is also very good. Although a little on the bland side since there's no other ingredients besides pasta and chicken. Spaghetti Solari is also very good although the pricier version (Brodetta Baci) is so much better for just a few bucks more. Much better flavor and more seafood. Definitely upgrade if you can. Overall I think all the red sauce pasta dishes are fail proof. Maybe someday my stomach will be stretched big enough to fit dessert after all this food. Which, I'm sure is also delicious. Only negative is the small parking lot. On popular nights it's really tough to get a spot.

Well this was my first time here with my wife, it was a Saturday night we waited like 25 minutes so we waited and had a glass a wine by the bar. The wine selection by the glass was very limited. i had a Cabernet not worth the $9.00 a glass. So after we were seated the bread came right away and water. a few minutes later the waiter came and asked if we were ready to order, didn't promote the specials. not really much homemade items. so my wife ordered the lobster ravioli with shrimp and i had the tortellini with chicken in vodka sauce. Both items were good(plain) i guess based on the amount of people waiting i had high expectations, a standard Italian menu and nothing special really to justify the long wait. after the waiter took our order i didn't see him until it was time to ask for the bill. Ambiance was OK, food OK. overall dining experience was OK,

We ordered one penne fusi, one pollo baci. Penne fusi is penne with grilled chicken breast, broccoli, tomato, & mozzarella. Pollo baci is chicken breast with melted Italian cheese, cream sauce, zucchini, eggplant, & a touch of tomato sauce. Everything we ordered were absolutely delicious! HUGE PORTION!! We saw everyone leaves with a doggy bag. We couldn't finish ours too. All total, we spent about $35. We got there around 7pm. The place wasn't crowded but the parking lot was full. This place definitely need a bigger parking lot. We had to circle around the block, waited a bit for a parking space. It was quite annoying. We were gonna just go elsewhere because we ran out of patience waiting for a parking space. Good food! Huge portion! Friendly service! Nice decor, romantic... Good place to bring your date We'll definitely go back...

I recently went here for a friend's birthday. There were about 15 of us, but we were seated relatively quickly (and it was a friday night). The food was amazing (I got the Ravioli el Verde, but other food that I tried was excellent as well) and the staff were very friendly.

Staff, food, ambience... Everything about Cafe Baci is great! Generous food portions, good-enough wine menu, and great lunch menu. Prices are reasonable. Staff here are so kind. And their pizza bread is heavenly! The only down side is... It's so damn hard to decide what to eat -- everything (and I mean everyyyyything) sounds delicious :P

Cafe Baci is nice Restuarant. Pros are huge portions, like two meals worth, cheese breads almost pizza like on soft bread, servers are very nice and nice menu variety from appetizers to main course, no room for dessert. Cons are parking is a challenge in the small lot, the wait on a Saturday is minimum 40 minutes. The oks are the food is good, not bad not memorable. So nice place and have gone back.

Good food and friendly service. Nice ambiance. Was pretty full even early in the week so that's a good sign. Vodka sauce was heavenly. The whole family loved the bruschetta. Food overall delicious not to mention great pizza bread. Will return.

This is probably one of top 5 Italian restaurants in Long Islands! I have been here over a dozen times over the years, and never have I ever had bad service. They are always accommodating, whether it be a special occasion or if you're just in for the casual meal, they treat you all the same. Unlimited bread.... even if you protest is always a pleasure. THEIR PIZZA BREAD IS SO FLIPPING GOOD They refill your water glass promptly without ever asking. This kind of service is hard to find. They are def on their A-game! I love all their dishes, and would def recommend the ones I've had below: Antipasti: Zucchini Fritti, Calamari Fritti, Fritto Misto, Bruschetta Insalate: Insalata Baci, Insalata Laziale, Insalata Napoli Pizza: Pizza Margherita, Pizza Amore Pasta: Penne alla Caprese, Tortelloni Delicati, Trittico al Bacio, Penne Ricche, Penne Fussi, Tortelloni Amore, Ravioli al Verde, Ravioli Riviera. Second Piatti: Calamari Fra Diavolo, Sausage & Pepper Siciliana These are all absolutely scrumptious, and honestly almost whatever you choose on the menu I guarantee will be great! My personal favorite is the Ravioli al Verde from the Pasta section, in case you were wondering. Their calamari is also delicious! Their wine and drink menu is reasonable, and they allow tastes if you want to try something new. If it's a busy night of the week, thursday, friday & saturday during peak hours, I suggest getting a reservation a few days early. it gets VERY busy, but the quality of service is never hampered They even let my mother bring our own birthday cake for a surprise birthday celebration last year with no extra charge AT ALL, they even cut the cake for us AND packed the leftovers as well! I cannot say enough great things about this establishment!

Baci in Italian means kiss, and that's exactly what I felt like doing to the cook after my experience here! My co-worker highly recommended coming here prior to my concert in Nassau Coliseum. Elisa: Make sure you share entrees because they are HUGE! Sacrifice either the appetizer or the dessert; it'll be hard to have both. I completely ignore this advice, because my eyes glazed over after browsing the menu for a half a minute and my boyfriend was repeatedly whispering into the menu, "I like that...but I really like that." So! We engorged and brought home happy, hefty leftovers; leftovers is my middle name. The portions are completely insane; think Cheesecake Factory, but on crack. From the entrees to the brick (and I mean BRICK) of tiramisu, my boyfriend gladly stated the obvious, "Too bad we don't live closer to here, but then again, thank God we don't; we'd come here too often to really appreciate." Baci, I'll kiss you from here all the way to Brooklyn! Check out my pictures; it'll be hard not to baci the screen!

i absolutely love this place. it is always packed and does not take reservations unless it is a party for 10 and up (i believe) so there is always a wait but damn you can NEVER go wrong. even their bread basket is good! their bread basket comes with a sort of pizza bread which is amaaaazing dipped in olive oil and w/e concoction you choose to make with it. i always order the brodetto baci and let me tell you, the servings are HUGE. i always take leftovers home and can eat for the next 2 days.they do not skimp on anything here. other entrees i have tried are the baci fra diavolo, pollo baci, scampi portofino and a few more i can't remember and everytime i have not been anything less than satisfied. a big plus is that they have a great wine menu for good prices! and service is always on point. one of my fave italian places in long island. take a date, your friends, your family - the ambience is great for any occasion.

I've waited years to come here. I'm rarely in the area but one time I had no choice but to see what all the hype was about. We came for lunch and thankfully there was no line. The decor was fine dinning like and they treated you like it was as well. Prices were fairly reasonable: Pannins were 10-12 and chicken dishes were around 12-14 for lunch. The bread that came int he front was so good and the oil already on the table was a great touch. The salad that came with the pannini was a huge portion. I would highly suggest this restaurant and cant wait to come back for dinner. Cafe Baci, I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship

I call this review Great Expectations. With all the wait and full parking lot, I really expected to feel more than "meh" after leaving Cafe Baci. The much hyped pizza bread was just okay. I wasn't overly wowed by the bread basket like others. We ordered a pizza as an appetizer and it did take quite a bit of time to get to us. That was to be expected as the place was packed. The pizza was a lot bigger than I was expecting, but was a good slice of margherita pizza. Hot cheese, a good amount of basil. It had us expecting some truly solid pasta dishes. I ordered a mushroom pasta dish and B ordered a tomato sausage dish. The portions were big in classic "Italian family style" fashion. The sauce on both dishes was underwhelming and the noodles were slightly overcooked. We liked them well enough to eat them for lunch the next day. I don't understand the wait or hype. Baci wasn't a terrible place, but I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here again. Mediocre chain restaurant taste from a non-chain restaurant is never a good thing.

GO GO GO GO GO --- there is simply no better italian restaurant on long island!!! i've been going for about 20 years. it's a staple. it's a different arena than the other restaurants on the island. i love this place so much. WAY TO GO! FOOD AND SERVICE AMAZING. THEY HAVE BEEN AROUND SO LONG FOR A REASON. I WOULD EAT HERE 7 DAYS A WEEK IF I COULD :)

Came here for date night and it was wonderful! The wait for 2 on a Sunday evening around 6:30PM was only about 10-15 minutes. I agree with other reviewers that it is a bit difficult to find parking since the parking lot is fairly small. Once we got seated we were greeted by out waitress, who was very pleasant. We got a basket with bread which had 3 pieces of Italian bread and 6 pieces of pizza bread (so delicious) for 2 people! Once we were finished, the waitress offered us even more pizza bread! At this point I fell in love with the place because they were so generous with the pizza bread. I ordered the Tortelloni Amore ($19) and my boyfriend got the Chicken parm ($19). Both were huge portions and the Tortelloni dish was delicious. We each packed enough for another meal. I didn't try the Chicken parm but my boyfriend was satisfied. We shared the oreo ice cream cake ($7) for dessert. It was nothing too special but still delicious and looked beautiful. The waiters were wonderful with refilling water and taking away plates. So overall, the prices are reasonable especially since one order is good for 2 meals, the inside is very nice, and everyone is friendly and attentive. Wonderful Italian restaurant! Definitely recommend this place.

Tried this with my roomie this march, the food here is ok and the atmosphere here is quite relaxed and good. If you wanna have a drink with your bro and relax a little bit. This is the place where you should try to approach.

Whoa! this place is delicious!! After hearing wonderful reviews and seeing people waiting outside to be seated I decided to try Cafe Baci with my boyfriend. The only thing I could say bad about this place was that the wait was about 2 hrs. The drinks were pretty good and the food was amazing. I would definitely return soon.

The eggplant Parmesan was a massive brick of perfectly cooked, juicy and so rich; the calamari was amazingly cooked, large portions and the service was excellent. One of my favorite places in LI.

I've been eating at Baci's for years and they never disappoint. The food is amazing and staff are usually very helpful and pleasant. If your looking a for a hefty meal this is the place as the portions will let you down.Love Baci's!

Went with a group of five. We were sat in the back of the restaurant near the service station, even though there were plenty of other tables. Got to listen to the noisy cash register all night while being bumped by the staff each time they passed. The fried mozzarella appetizer was very good but the entrees were just okay. The light pink sauce was more like a heavy orange sauce and the chicken was chewy. Hair in the lemon in my soda also didn't help. The wait staff never cleared plates from our table, and when there was no place to put down a plate they just handed it to my sister and walked away, then we had to stack plates and make room. Very strange experience.

The family got together for my sister in law's birthday. My soon to be brother in law chose this location as a convenient midway point for all involved. I had heard good reviews of this place from friends that grew up in Nassau County so I had fairly high expectations. I usually don't comment on decor since me talking interior design is like a vegan talking about steak but I just have to say something here. The decor was SOOO dated it wasn't funny. The wood paneling and lighting was something out of the early 70's and the place looked kind of dingy. I felt like someone put me in a time machine, sent me back to a place my parents ate at when they first arrived in this country and threw away the keys. The service left a lot to be desired. Orders were taken quickly and drinks came out fast. However, our server was just uninterested and never checked in on our large table. We came for late lunch so our table of 10 should have been the primary focus but she really didn't want to be bothered. She even complained to her colleagues when my mother in law asked her to bring a smaller plate for her discarded shells (I have really good hearing). Lady, the table was full and your idea of bringing a plate the size of a small child didn't seem like a good idea. Spacing objects might not be your forte, I suggest you don't park cars for a living or operate large machinery for that matter. Luckily for us, my future brother in law and his mom knew another waitress there who took care of any unfulfilled requests we had. Now to what matters the most, the food. OK, I'm the first to admit that as someone who grew up going to Little Italy and eating in Bay Ridge as a teenager, I'm hard to please when it comes to Italian food. The food here isn't up to snuff in my opinion. Portions were insanely large and reasonably priced. Food came out relatively quickly and hot. Taste was another matter. My Italian panini (prosciutto, fresh mozzarella, basil and tomatoes) was large but terribly disappointing. They burned the bread and there was only one slice of meat in the sandwich. Given that I'm spoiled by good Italian food from my childhood and paninis from Il Bambino in Astoria, this was a let down to say the least. My wife's veal milanese looked good but tasted dry. The salad that came with it wasn't very good either. The wife also got miffed when the waitress offered cheese to everyone except her. The cheese came later after the wife got the server's attention to bring her some. The food here wasn't terrible but definitely not on par with Little Italy, Arthur Avenue or Bay Ridge. It is however, a step above the Olive Garden down Middle Country Road so kudos for that. Desert was unremarkable. Portions just like the meal were very large. The pastry chef must take things literally since the napoleon was about the same size as the man it's named after. Tiramisu went over without complaints from the table. In sum, it's not the worst place to eat at but there are better options in the area (albeit maybe not for Italian...I haven't tried the brick oven pizza place down the road yet). At least they gave my kids balloons when we left.

I have been to this establishment twice and in both instances the food was good, the portions were large, and the prices very fair. That is probably why I went back the second time and the fact that it was in walking distance to my hotel. My down grade is due to the service. It is non existent. The first time I went, I saw my server when he took my order and when he delivered my bill. I would have like another drink (anything other than water) but never had the opportunity to ask for one. I also noticed that everone who sat down around me got a little basket of bread; I did not. When I asked, they were surprised I did not get one and said they would bring some to me. It came about 1/2 through my meal. My second visit was yesterday. Everyone is entitled to an off day so I went back. Not too crowded when I went. I was seated promtly and proceeded to wait for something / anything. It had been so long before anyone came to the table that I was about to get up and leave. I was seated near the waiters station and all sorts of workers were there looking at me but nothing happened. Finally they brought me some bread (it is good) and water. About 5 minutes later a waiter came. I ordered something to drink and my meal; VEAL parm with CAPELLINI and some extra sauce on the side. What I got was CHICKEN parm, with SPAGETTI and no extra sauce. My waiter stopped when I was close to half done to see how things were and I explained the mistake. They volunteered to make it right but at that point it would have been wasteful. I should have taken that opprotunity to order another drink because I didnt see my waiter again until he brought me a bill. Maybe there is a one drink policy at this resturant. odd. There are a lot of italian resturants with good food and this is a middle of the road place in terms of taste. If I lived locally, I might do a take out ( I don't know if its offered) because of the portion size. I wouldn't go out of my way to eat in. The service is just terrible. I think the owners lose profits because I would have ordered another drink or even desert if given the opportunity.

Everyone leaves with a doggy bag! And it won't burn a whole through your wallet. I really enjoyed it and I never really LOVE Italian restaurants... Plenty of pasta choices and the apps were yummy - I had a fried cheese platter which was PHENOMENAL! Can't figure out if it's casual or semi-fancy... Swings both ways I guess!

Went here for lunch over the weekend with a friend. Maybe it was just an off day, but I wasn't as impressed with it as I usually am. The interior was dirty. Tables weren't being cleaned quickly enough, and the floors looked like they needed to be cleaned. Again, maybe it was an off day or they were understaffed, or something. It usually isn't like this. Anyway, the food was not bad. I had the meatball sandwich (Otherwise known as the Italiano Panini), and it was more meat and cheese than sauce, which is always a good thing in my book. My friend had the Messina Panini (Prosciutto) and she said it was great. We did not have dessert this time since it was lunch, but we did have iced cappuccino to top the meal off. That was good, although looking back on it I should have gotten something hot since it was cold out! I'm a sucker for iced drinks, though. Anyway, I will definitely be back. We had not been in awhile, so we're hoping the cleanliness was just a fluke.

big fan of Cafe Baci. Came spontaneously with a date, and it was an overall surprise. Interior was certainly a lot more romantic than I expected, and the food definitely lived up to the hype, which is rare nowadays. Bread basket was awesome, with a lot of varieties including pizza bread and such. But the real deal here definitely is the pasta. I ordered the Fusilli Formale due to my friend's suggestion. It was cheesy, creamy and succulent with breaded chicken and shrimp. Very very delicious, even though the pasta probably wasn't homemade. My date ordered a penne with chicken and brocolli. This was just alright for me, but still tasty. I'd definitely return to try their extensive menu. Highly suggest after shopping at roosevelt or if you're just in the area :)

my new favorite Italian restaurant. the food is excellent, the portions are HUGE, even the bread they give you before your meal is yummy! parking can be extremely annoying (their lot is kind of small) but we had no trouble finding parking around the corner.

Phenomenal. The best thing about cafe baci is their consistency. Every time you go the dish is always spot on. I usually go with the same dish unless something on the daily specials grabs me. Always the same great taste and quality. They will also customize your dish, for example the base dish but a different type of pasta. They have also made off menu items I requested once. The ONLY negatives are it can get very crowded and busy at times and the parking is woefully inadequate. Otherwise, highly recommend

I originally went to Cafe Baci long before the days of Yelp and long before the days of their parking lot being ridiculous to find a spot in. At the time, I was not impressed. Last night I decided to visit here again after being told it has definitely improved (and judging by the wait on a Tuesday evening and the packed parking lot, I'd say that's true). We, of course, started off with some bread..Which was excellent. After that, we decided to go with calamari for an appetizer because who doesn't love some fried squid? The calamari was HUGE and very flavorful. Not the best I've had but definitely good. For the entree, I had ravioli al verde. The ravioli was cooked perfectly with just the right amount of spinach. Now here's why Cafe Baci is getting 3 stars instead of 4 or 5. The man in my life had the special for that night. The special was pasta with sausage and mixed veggies in a cream sauce. The sauce was not of a creamy consistency whatsoever. The pasta was extremely undercooked. And the sausage was extremely overcooked. He ended up sending it back without a question from the waiter. That waiter ended his shift with a 35% tip because even though we complained about the entree, he was more than accommodating and did not charge us for it while most waiters might have. Overall, Cafe Baci is a cute spot to enjoy some food and company. The inside is very snazzy and dimly lit. The service is exceptional. I saw a slice of lasagna and was terrified due to its HUGE size, it was seriously the largest slice of lasagna that I have ever laid my eyes on. Prepare to bring home leftovers, the portions are large and could easily feed 3 people. Maybe one day I'll return but they need to guarantee that the pasta will be cooked.

Love the food here! Can you say HUGE portions?? The only thing stopping me from giving this 5 stars instead of 4 stars is the wait time! I've been here twice and both times the wait for a table is ridiculous - not because it's unorganized or the wait staff is slow - it's because it's THAT BUSY. On the food! All of their dishes are LARGE. Even the appetizers. We ordered fried calamari and fried zucchini appetizers for a party of 4. Both were delicious. Light, crunchy, flavorful breading and fresh calamari and zucchini. I wish restaurants would serve the whole calamari, tentacles and all! What happens to all those tentacles that don't get served anyway?? That part gets super crispy and tasty! But I digress... We split two entrees amongst the 4 of us. We had a lot of time to survey the other diners' plates as we patiently waited an hour for our table and saw the massive sizes. So we ordered appropriately and split 2, which was smart because 4 would have been enough for a party of 8, especially after devouring 2 apps already. We went with the cheese tortellini with chicken in vodka sauce. The tortellini were huge and there must have been 30 of them in a portion easily. Very flavorful and filling. Our second entree was the Veal Milanese, which is a fried, breaded veal cutlet topped with arugula salad with cherry tomatoes and red onion. It was huge, delicious and completely devoured. Dessert - we decided to try the Oreo ice cream cake, which had cookies and cream ice cream with a chocolate cookie crust. The desserts are no exception - HUGE slice as well. Def enough to share after the filling meal we just ate. They DO NOT take reservations, so it's all on a first come first serve basis. In this case it is def a better bet to make it an early dinner or be prepared to wait at least an hour for a table, if not longer. Also, another grip is the tiny parking lot. For a restaurant with such a large capacity, they have a tiny parking lot! Along that same notion, for such a large space, they only have single bathrooms for men and women so be prepared to wait on yet another line during your dining experience.

Jeff and I LOVE this place - the portions are huge- and full of AMAZING food! and it's a great value for the money. I love the pizza bread that comes before your meal...be very careful not to fill up on it - it's that good! Fresh Moz melts in your mouth. We've been coming here for years and although we are never disappointed with the food the only drawbacks that I can think of (besides there only being 2 beers on draft) are: 1) The long wait to sit is tiresome and they do not take reservations- 2) Parking can be an issue - especially on Friday or Saturday nights. But you won't complain when you have enough leftovers for dinner for the next two days :)

Still a winner! I came with a couple of coworkers for lunch today. Parking is SO much better at lunchtime than dinnertime. I also tried one of their paninis from the lunch menu (available Mon-Fri only). I had the eggplant parm panini, but I had filled myself up on bread from the basket (curses! I did it again) I found myself picking out the eggplant and leaving the panini behind. I should have gotten the side salad instead of the fries (my weakness!). The guys each enjoyed their meals as well. One of them had never been to Baci and loves Vincents, and he thoroughly enjoyed his Zitti Rustica. Congrats Baci! You have more fans :)

Probably one of the best Italian places I've been to! The pizza bread is SO good-- that alone almost got me full before my actual dish came. I went on a Friday during lunch and I got one of their lunch specials. The waitress recommended Cavatappi alla Vodka which basically consists of pasta twists & breaded chicken in pink vodka sauce. I'll def be going back.

Impeccable service and delicious food make this a favorite Long Island option for us. The meatballs are great, as is their spicy seafood and pasta dish. The waiters are always friendly and attentive, and I appreciate that the manager comes around at the end of the meal to check on things.

I really love this Place. A big restaurant, but you will have your privacy. Very good for a hot date. The food is excellent. I can compare. I've been to Italy a few times. Recommend sharing a portion. Since portions are so big, the prices are not that expensive.

I'm no Italian...but this is great Italian food. The food is great and well priced. when they bring out a bread basket, make sure you have PIZZA BREAD in it; if not, ask for it cuz it's THE BOMB. The portions are big and worth spending a little extra money because you'll have leftovers. Authentic, and ETHNIC Italian food - not Americanized. I've been coming here for 7 years, and loved each visit.

My favorite restaurant!! the focaccia bread is uh-mazing, and i order the same exact thing every time i go...TORTELLINI AMORE. The prices are reasonable and they have great wine. only negative things are the wait and the parking.

Really really good food that you get a lot of. They give you pizza bread that's sooo good. Personally love to get the bordeto baci fra diavlo, it's not exactly a menu item but they will make it for you and I love it. I've been going there for awhile now and the food has always been great and the people are really friendly.

Tasty Italian. Casual setting, but feel free to wear business casual. Portions are huge, tasty, and comforting. I had the Cavatappi Secreto and my wife had the Ravioli al Verde. Both were great, but I preferred the ravioli...very creamy and saucy. The portion on this one was probably the smallest I saw in the restaurant, but it was still quite large. The place was crowded at 6:00 on a Friday night, but we did not have to wait for a table.

I LOVE this place. We used to come here all the time but have slowed up the last couple of years since we moved further out. The wait & the parking lot are 2 negatives. We used to sit at the bar and friended Adam & Brandon but when we go now we put our name down and run errands at the mall or area shops. My dish is tortellini amore with breaded chicken, a home run. My better half orders spaghetti solari. The ceasar salad with the shaved parmesan is awesome and huge and can be shared. The minestrone soup is great as well. I like the younger crowd for the most part. Be prepared to wait or come at off times but worth it. It's not gourmet but huge portions and good food!

I used to live in New York and I came here all the time. Wonderful italian restaurant that's why the wait is long during night times. Even lunch time is crowded. Amazing variety of food and the bread is amazing. I love the complementary bread they offer- its delicious. The dish size is huge so its great to share with friends and family. I love coming here and I wish they open one in California. 5 stars for food 4 stars for service 3.5 stars for atmosphere 5 stars for price Def. will come back next time.

I love this place!! The focaccia they serve is absolutely addicting and just soft and...uugghh, now I'm craving!!! All the pasta dishes I have tried have been great. A lot of the choices I found have similar sauces and ingredients so there is some similarity in dishes. The chicken parm panini was good, nothing spectacular. They do have a salad with candied walnuts that was amazing but I forget the name. Also, for dessert the brownie sundae was to die for. The parking in the area is awful tho. Park on the other side of old country road, don't bother wasting your time looking in the parking lot if its a weekend, or even during the week for dinner. Portions are huge tho so you always have a nice lunch the next day!! This is my favorite place to eat in the area hands down.

Great place for reasonably priced pasta. I hadn't been to the restaurant in a while, and was pleasantly surprised to see that the prices were still reasonable. Its a busy, bustling place, and doesn't take reservations. They have a fabulous complementary bread basket to start off with - the pizza bread is yummy. I like their pastas. The one or two times I've ordered something other than pasta, I wasn't particularly impressed. I had some sort of rigatoni with chicken and veggies in a pesto sauce. Ginormous portion with enough leftovers for at least one more meal. My friend had the chicken parm and loved it, also taking home enough for another meal. Its a good meal, not the best ever, but a good standby when you are in the mood for pasta.

Went on a Saturday night. Arrived at 6:30pm and was told the wait for 2 would be 35 min. We ended up not getting seated until 7:45pm. That's a little annoying. I wouldn't go here again to dine-in because I refuse to wait for food however I will order for take-out. The portions are ridiculously big. We ordered the minestrone soup and fresh mozarella for the appetizers. Both were good. For entrees we ordered Cavatappi Secreto and Trittico al Bacio w/meat sauce. I was only able to finish half the soup and about 1/5 of the pasta dish. We also got the Tiramisu to go. It's good, but not the best. The lady fingers didn't seem like they were soaked or at least not soaked enough. The service was notably very good, except the food came out very slow. Salads and pastas are fast, there's no reason to have to wait 10 min for appetizers and nearly 30 min for pasta. The restaurant needs to look at their kitchen to speed things up, turn over tables faster, and cut down the wait times.

Amazing!! That's all I have to say. The first time I went here was about 5 years ago for a friends birthday and I have kept going back ever since. The portions are ginormous here and the best part is the bread they give you before your meal is served. The pizza flavored bread is soooo delicious and warm. The portions are huge so I have always brought home leftovers which I can bring to work the next day and it still tastes good as ever. If we go with about 4 people, we usually get 3 dishes and an appetizer and we STILL have tons of food left to take home. I love their Ravioli al Verde, Penne Fussi, and Fettucine Primavera!! Those are my 3 favorite dishes from Cafe Baci. The only con about this place is parking....they do have a lot but it gets packed really fast and sometimes the wait can be long if you get there during busy hours of the day. I think it's worth the wait! Btw, their service is pretty good also.

I went there for my birthday with my girlfriend for lunch...then dinner with my family...yes, in the same day! That is how damn good this place is. GREAT Italian food at a very reasonable price. Great service that takes care of repeat customers with complimentary appetizers. It's a must go if you love Italian food!

I've never liked much about this place except for one vegetarian pasta dish (rigatoni, eggplant, ricotta, mozzarella, it was wonderful). I went back a few weeks ago, and they had vanished my only acceptable item from the menu. I had to deal with angel hair pasta and garden vegetables, which was actually really terrible. The tomato sauce was too thin and bland, and the pasta wasn't even al dente! Are you joking? Any Italian restaurant that wants fifteen dollars for a dish I could've made better should at least know how to cook pasta correctly. I was ashamed to have to pay for my meal. As should be apparent, the service is always terrible, the prices are far too high, and the place is always booked through the night. There's no reason to go here, unless you're parking in the Baci lot and walking over to Azerbaijan.

so i found out about this place last yr June, i went for my birthday and since then this is one of my favorite restaurant for Italian food. i have been there 2 more times and might be heading there this weekend. the food is amazing. Everything i order taste good, there is a special they make w fish and creepers, i love that the most. the portions are big every time i go to this restaurant i have left overs. the price is descent. the only down fault about this restaurant is the parking, if you go during prime time there will be a wait and it will be hard to get a park. once inside and dining that will only be a minor issue. enjoy.

Oh man, I was shocked to see all the 1-2 star review of this place on Yelp... As far as I'm concerned, I've always enjoyed my meals here rather thoroughly. I know its lines are notorious, and - yes - it gets rather cramped by all the waiting patrons near the bar up front. But each time (adding up to a handful of times), I always had a great, consistently delicious meal and good times overall. My usual dishes are chicken fantasia (really yummy) and the mushroom pasta (i forget the name). I also am a big fan of their warm, marinara sauce-covered rolls (god, they're so good I could just eat these) and virgin pina coladas. Overall, a romantic, yet casual atmosphere. On a good night, you may catch a little Frank Sinatra in the air... : ) The wait staff is really friendly and knowledgeable. But, truth be told, the ditzy, fake-blond hostesses seriously need some etiquette training (and maybe some education!).

Since I am a huge fan of lasagna, their lasagna was AMAZING! The portion may be a little big, but it was an awesome serving since it was so delicious! I couldn't doggy bag it since it was too good for the on-the go. Stay in and enjoy this amazing dish!

I thought the experience here tonight was great! Some of the other reviews mention slow service and I would have liked a little quicker service, however, they were quite busy and I didn't feel neglected. The hostess gave me a couple of recommendations as did the waitress. Both people raved about the pink sauce so I chose the Tortelloni Amore and was very well pleased. I was served a huge bowl of great food and I ate the whole thing. Someone at the hotel recommended this place and I'll probably be back at least one more time this week.

  • allison g.

This has to be one of the best restaurants on Long Island! Anyone who gives it less than 3 stars must be undeniably delusional. The food is out of this world. I highly recommend the Tortellini Amore - so so good. The menu is reasonably priced and contains a wide variety of dishes. Also, the chefs will make you almost anything you ask. Not to mention the serving size is HUGE - expect to bring home a doggy bag. The two downfalls are parking there can be a pain in the ass and if you're looking to go on a Friday/Saturday night expect a wait. However, the food is so good that the pros easily outweigh the cons. If you're in the area, def give it a try.

I'm so glad I'm not the only one unwilling to wait for food at Baci. There's almost always a wait (forget about it on family holidays like Mother's Day), and the food isn't at all worthy of it. Dragged there over the years for birthday parties, it's definitely not a first (or second) personal choice ever. If you have to go, stick to basics like penne a la vodka or marinara sauce. To be fair, the restaurant is kid-friendly and therefore good for large family gatherings, but that just crowds up the place for the smaller parties.

We had friends in town for a concert and decided to have dinner before the show. So we trusted our fellow Yelpers on this one and couldn't have been more disappointed. The parking was abysmal but I looked past that as something that speaks for the quality of the restaurant. We didn't have to wait horribly long despite it being packed. The fun started once we sat down. We placed our order for an appetizer and entrees and ordered a few drinks. The drinks came relatively fast. I guess we were entertaining ourselves and lost track of time. After about 40 minutes, we realized we were getting close to the time we'd need to leave for the show. Annoyed that we hadn't heard from our waiter, I went to him and told him to cancel the appetizer and just bring the entrees. He said "oh you haven't gotten it yet?". He then started to look in the entry system and I think this is when he realized that the order wasn't put in. He came over and told us the food would be up in 20 minutes. I said that was unacceptable and asked for the manager. He came over and at first was a little dismissive as I think he thought we were just being unreasonable. After he went to see our order hadn't been placed, he came back and told us that the food would be up in 8 minutes. We told him it was too late and that we were leaving. To his credit, he took care of the drinks and gave us a gift certificate if we decided to come back. I will update the review once we actually eat more than bread here. I wish I got the waiters name because he was clearly the issue.

This has to be one of my favorite places on long island, I don't think I have ever had a bad experience here. Everything on the menu is good, my favorite - penne saporite. I have had several pasta & chicken dishes though and have loved every one. What makes this place the best though is that the service is exceptional, the wait staff is so attentive and friendly it really sets them apart from any place I have been to.

Absolutely favorite place! Ive been going here for well over 15 yrs..20 maybe...I'm a creature of habit and I like what i like! Penne alla Caprese is all I ever order here and Its all i crave. LOVE IT! The bread they serve is delicious as well. Great place, fantastic service from start to finish. Really nice people here! Everyone else tells me their food is great too. I come back again and again for my pasta. Im super picky and dont eat pasta in many places as no one cooks like my Mom and Nonna, but here isone of my few exceptions! Enjoy!

I'm seriously shocked by the 2.5 stars. This place has great affordable Italian food. The pasta menu is endless. I'm reviwing it again because I just went back. I've been here a few times and never complained. The Penne ala vodka with breaded chicken is mmm so good. They have a huge wine menu. There's something on the menu for everyone - huge options of salads, pasta, chicken, fish meat. You name it. It's one of my favorite affordable restaurants on the Island. I have to disagree with the bad reviews.

Not sure why this place has a few bad reviews. Cafe Baci is near a friend and I love to come and visit to eat here. I don't get to eat here often and consider it a treat! The portions are very large. Even if you're a big eater you'll have some leftovers. If you're an average eater, you'll have dinner for the next day. The pizza bread is very good and they have olive oil on the table for you to enjoy some with your bread. Everything is always fresh and rich. I'm a big fan of all the fish and chicken specials they have. They put some many different toppings on them, different flavors, different sauces. You'd think it would get lost but I promise it's the perfect combination. Ask the staff what they recommend and you'll see them get excited as they talk about their favorite dish. And they work there and eat there all the time! Come early or late as the parking lot fills up and it can be difficult to find a spot. Other than that, just enjoy!

My mouth dropped when I saw a few 2 stars rating for Baci. This place to me has great food. The Lobster Ravioli is delicious and the Three cheese Ravioli dish. The staff is friendly, however I have to agree it's a mad house and I would not recommend for a romantic date. The menu is huge and you get a great amount of food plus it's affordable. The place is pretty big with a nice bar. It's cool for hanging out crowds, family gathering not so much for a couples night out.

this place has great pasta with very generous portions!!! only sad thing is that...for an italian pasta restaurant...they don't have linguini with clam sauce on the menu!!! besides that, this restaurant serves delicious pasta, period.

I can honestly say that I've never had a bad meal, or even an ok meal at Baci. One of the best Italian restaurants in the area by far. Portions are huge, the price is right, and everything I've tried is amazing. I've never seen anyone leave finishing their dish, the portions are that big. My fave has to be the Penne Fussi with pesto and chicken. I get shrimp substituted for the chicken and it's crave-worthy. Their pizza bread that they bring out in the beginning is also great, just make sure to leave room for the food!

Had dinner with two family members. We started with the Caprice salad which was very good. The meal went down hill food lacked flavor and very salty. We hadn't eaten there in a few years and was disappointed.

I never had a bad meal here and this is great for groups and family. The portions are huge and thats coming from a 270 pound guy. The only problem here the parking and the wait, They do have a parking lot but it fills so quickly that your stuck there waiting for a spot.

Oh my god you people are nuts! I'm a Long Island girl transplanted to CA, and every time I visit home I must must go to Cafe Baci for the primavera but with fresh cavatelli instead of fettucini. It is in a vodka cream sauce that is so good. And the foccaccia bread is also yummy. Oh I miss italian food like this, you guys don't know how good you have it! Oh, the decor is totally Long Island Amy-Buttafuco-80's-trash, but whatever.

Nice Italian restaurant. A little expensive but well worth it. The portions are huge and very tasty. I had the eggplant parmesian and it was awesome!. Great place for a date, a business meeting, or even just a family outing. I fully recommend it.

I'm very surprised to see such negative reviews of Baci. While the service leaves a lot to be desired, the food has always been stellar in my book. An extensive menu featuring pasta, chicken, veal and seafood dishes offers something for everyone, and the prices are exceptional considering the large portions. The salad with shrimp and green beans is delicious. They also feature several tasty appetizers such as the Crostini. For the main course I highly recommend the Cavatelli Tutto Funghi (homemade cavatelli with assorted mushrooms and chicken in a marsala-like brown sauce), but I've honestly never had a pasta dish I didn't like at Baci. Other favorites are the Lobster Ravioli (served in a pink sauce with garden vegetables and baby shrimp) and Fusili Fantasia (baked pasta with touch of tomato, mushrooms, peppers and mozzarella). The wait is very long at peak times and they do not accept reservations. Parking can also be a hassle as the lot is just too small. Street parking around the corner (by the sketchy motel and Hilton Garden Inn) is usually a good alternative.

The service was great, nice clean, family establishment. My coleuges and I travel for a living so eating out is manditory to survive. That being said, we started with some appetizers. Cold antipasto, wasn't exciting, it should have had some Reggano and green olives but I was able to get iton the side. Stuffed Artichoke was fantastic. Muscles in a fradiablo sauce had no spice and the muscles themselves weren't very fresh. We tried the meatballs, they were pretty good. Then came my main coarse, Veal Parm with a sideof angel hair with a arrabbiata sauce. This one actually had some cick but I had her add a ton of fresh peppertoo. Itwas fantastic and the portionsare huge. I would have gave it 4 stars but I'm italian and a bit of a cook myself so.... I can't say it was amazing but for under 200 bucks with 2 bottles of wine for 4 people is a pretty gooddeal. You sure won't leave hungry. OMG I almost forgot, the terimisu was Insanely good.

Once a year, I have dinner with old friends at Xmas...We have never had a bad experience..food is great and I have found service always good. Always crowded, even on a weeknight..they do not take reservations, but we never mind because we like to catch up with drinks at the bar. I went recently on a Sunday before a concert...was very surprised as to how crowded it was for a Sunday afternoon..had a drink at bar and were seated within 30 minutes...waitresses could not have been friendlier (and cuter) Food as always was great, lot to take home..just beware..the double espresso here is a full CUP of coffeee...kept me awake til 4 am.

So we just went back to Baci and they took Rigatoni Alla Montenro off of their menu! That was the whole reason we went there!!! With out that on the menu it def loses 2 stars. The waitress said tons of people have been very upset. Apparently they had nothing else with that sauce so it wasn't worth it for them. We would have paid $5 more for it. Ugh. I guess we aren't driving out there anymore. We are so disappointed.

A Super restaurant! Great place for family, group,or couple. Always very crowded. But that's because they're so good. If you have to wait for a table they have a lounge area in which they serve free appetizers at the bar! Once you are seated, you'll be glad you are there. They serve awesome rolls which includes pizza bread and focaccia. The food is exceptional. The waiters/waitresses professional and cheerful. Busboys are on the ball, water glasses are never empty and empty plates are cleared off table. The owner or mgr(don't know which) stops by at tables to speak with every patron in the place. I see that some reviewers mention that parking is an issue. Only if you make it an issue. Either wait for someone to pull out of the lot or park around the corner and walk a block(A suggestion is for the driver drop the rest of your party at entrance to request a table while you park) It's well worth it. Baci's is a lively restaurant with very good food and excellent service.. I recommend it to every one.

Chinku, I am surprised you gave this wretched place even 2 stars. If I could give it none, i would. What a lousy lousy establishment, and somehow it's always packed!! What gives??? The food is mediocre at best, the service is lousy, the prices are high. Don't waste your time.

Intrigued by the long lines and great reputation, we decided to try Baci. All I can sy is that when the waitress FINALLY got around to askin us how everything was, she was surprised to see our plates still almost full. We asked for a check and she asked if she could wrap our leftovers to take home. NO THANKS!!! Not recommended at all.

Okay, here we go. Food: Amazing and great prices Service: Pretty good except for one waiter who was a dick, but I ate there several times so...whatever. Also, all of their staff are easy on the eyes, so that is never a bad thing. If you come on the weekends, there is usually a wait, but its okay because they have a nice bar where they give you free carrots with dip and nice chex mix to open up your appetite! Yeah, I like this place. And I'm a tough critic.

I've passed this place so many times and never gave it a chance until the other day. I always assumed Baci it was a low key, probably run down italian spot in the middle of Westbury. The outside certainly doesn't leave much hope for the interior. Well I was pleasantly surprised when I walked in. Very pretty, clean and romantic. It was really busy on a Thursday afternoon but then I found out it was because a Billy Joel concert was going on that night (I was so sad and very jealous of the other patrons I didn't have tickets). Our waitress was prompt and nice. We had a appetizer sampler, baked clams and garlic knots. Yeah...people definitely shouldn't go out to eat REALLY hungry. You make alot of mistakes with the quantity of food you order. ANYWAYS the sampler was ok...fried mozzarella tasted funny and the clams weren't anything great. There was this fried pasta cream thing and it was just a weird combination, and not in a good way. For our entrees we kept it simple with chicken parm and lobster ravioli. It was so much food and the raviolis were huge. The sauce was good but really greasy. My husband said his parm was very lackluster. Nice to try but now I know I'll keep passing this place by anything I'm in the area. Nothing new and nothing memorable.

My friend from work recommended this restaurant to me because she said that the food was exquisite and the prices were extremely reasonable. Well, she was most certainly right and I'm so glad that she introduced me to this restaurant. We will definitely be back soon. Yesterday was my parent's 25th wedding anniversary and my father not only wanted to have a lovely dinner with the family, he also wanted to present my mother with a beautiful ring that he purchased just for her. So I called the restaurant in advance and asked if it were possible for the manager to present the ring to my mother after our meal. It worked out PERFECTLY! A big thanks to the manager Andy for letting this plan come to fruition! My mother was surprised and over-the-moon happy! And of course the food was FANTASTIC! My sister and I had the Spaghetti Solari (which included assortments of seafood), my brother had penne with chicken, my other sister had some sort of ravioli and my parents had the seafood special. Every single meal was cooked to perfection and they give a HUGE portion. None of us were able to finish it lol so we brought it home and will finish it today. Thank you Cafe Baci for an amazing experience and thanks again to manager Andy for all of your help! We'll be back soon!

I don't think I will need to eat for the next week. One plate can EASILY feed two very hungry people. We came for a family dinner on Sunday night and were impressed with the ambiance, food and service. Excellent choice for a family gathering to date night! Service was a bit spotty but that may be because we came an hour before closing. We ordered a few dishes off their specials menu and a few off their regular menu. Every item was delicious and flavorful. Even though we were full beyond comfort, we al finished with a few bites of their enormous brownie sundae! Delicious!

REALLY love the atmosphere and food here. The portions they give you is ginormous and the appetizer bread is quite lovely! Me and my family stop by occasionally for birthdays and dinner out's. Be careful about eating here on Weekends/ Weekend nights though: It's Always packed. But beware, not all food ranks the same. I absolutely love the Calamari appetizer, the Pasta, especially the Rigatoni Folie, And the pasta with Pesto, my sister and I also always split a dessert (so decadent)! But the one time I decided their Chicken Entrees and was deeply disappointed. It was like 80% cheese and the chicken was kind of flavorless and the veggies were cut so finely they were tasteless. Great for Cheese lovers but I can't digest Cheese very well so it was uncomfortable for me to finish. The Sides it came with was also extremely tasteless too. I'll stick with the Pasta!

If you don't give this place 5 stars you're crazy! The food is fabulous and the portions are large and in charge. Menu is very affordable. Tips: -Get there early on a Saturday night around 6pm. -the complimentary bread is to die for but don't eat too much you'll get full -tortellini amore is aaamaze

I bestow the honor of my 700th review upon Cafe Baci. With expectations of waiting for a table for 30 minutes, my parents and I came on Sunday at 7:20pm. My mom, always finicky about where she sits in a restaurant, requested that we get a table by the window, so I rolled my eyes and thought, we're going to be waiting for an hour. Surprises of surprises, we were seated by 7:31pm. UNREAL. Atmosphere here is classy, cozy, and cute. It's great for a date, but don't like, propose here. It's one of the nicest and most spacious Italian restaurants I've been to. Side note, if you sit by the window for dinner, you'll see the moon and the sunset over the trees, which is just precious. I ordered the isalata capri. It's huge and delicious. I barely finished half of it because I was a pig when the pizza bread came before our food was served. Dad got the Pollo Forestale, which he liked. The mushrooms were done perfectly. Mom got the fried calamari appetizer as her entree because that dish is big enough to be a main course. Sauce was bland so she added red pepper to give it a kick. She's a genius. It was bangin'. Our waitress Noelle was very sweet and friendly and juggled her handful of tables very well. Our bill was $50 for our three items, which I think is extremely reasonable. Loved it here. Would I return? I very much would.

Went here for dinner on a Friday night, and it was less crowded than expected. Loved not having to wait, but for such a delicious restaurant, it did make me a bit sad that they were not full. The waitress who took care of us was attentive for most of the evening, but towards the end she was nowhere to be found! I suppose she was letting us enjoy our dessert and conversation, but when we were ready to pay the bill we couldn't find her. The bread basket was okay. I was not thrilled with the pizza bread, but the boy liked it (and he's super picky...) The two dishes we ordered were the Pollo Baci and Spaghetti Nonna. The chicken was okay, it was covered with eggplant and zucchini and a heavy cream sauce. Overall, I'd give the dish 7/10. The Spaghetti dish was pretty much just spaghetti and meatballs, which was decent - can't mess that up too much. For dessert we shared the Tartufo, which was more than enough for two after the HUGE portions of dinner. I love Tartufo, it's one of my favorite desserts, and this one definitely didn't disappoint. The pricing was not outrageous considering the quality and quantity that you get. This was my second visit, and I will definitely be back!

Loved this place. Great food, the waiters have great customer service skills. I liked that the manager came to each table to make sure that everyobe was enjoying their meal and just making small conversation. The food portions are big but I didnt mind. Definitely will be going back again!

Went there for dinner on a Sunday right before the dinner rush. Service is pretty quick despite the packed crowd, and the portions are huge. I like the pizza bread they bring out for you. We ordered 5 entrees for 7 people, and it was more than enough. We had the Penne Saporite, Fusilia Fantasia, Cavatappi Toscani (my favorite), Ravioli Riviera (suuuper filling - I could only have 1 piece), and Scaloppine Parma (interesting taste.. not much of a fan). I would love to check out their desserts next time - they also looked huge. This is a great place to go to when you are craving pasta. Great prices and generous servings.

If there were more stars to rate this I'd do so. I first came here after seeing them on channel one which is local. Then they were featured on another station and I ordered exactly what was recommended I've been here a handful of times and really---- every single dish is incredible. Their vodka sauce is the bomb. Fried calamari appetizer was great. I'm telling you -EVERY dish is amazing. They serve family style so I always tend to over order since I always think there won't be enough! Doesn't matter--- I love left overs !!!!

Love their fusilli formale and the penne saporite. Both pastas are cooked al dente and served in a platter that encourages family style. The staff is very welcoming and attentive to all ends. The only downside is the long wait time and not taking reservations.

I have never seen food portions so large in my life, I mean it's borderline family style but the portions are for one. Italian food in LI is kinda the big food out here, the decor is upscale yet casual, the place is nice so don't come in looking like a bum but don't dress yourself to the nines. The place is on Old Country rd, a little past the hustle and bustle of Old Country. It's prob a 8 min drive from Roosevelt Field and a 5 min drive from The Source. The food: Cavatappi Secreto- Pasta twists with diced meatballs, diced Italian sausage, peas in a secret pink tomato sauce with shaved Parmesan cheese. I really enjoyed this dish a lot, even though it was enough for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I love the fun shaped Cavatappi, it's a good textured pasta and it pickups the sauce really well. The sauce was light and the sausage and meatballs paired really well. The leftovers also reheat really well. Melanzane Parmigiana- Thinly sliced breaded fresh eggplant layered with Parmesan and ricotta cheese, fresh tomato sauce baked with homemade mozzarella. I am a fan of eggplant parm and the one here was great. The layers are stacked really thick so you get a good amount of eggplant. The sauce has a nice tang to it and the mozzarella makes it nice and gooey. Tiramisu- Homemade classic, lady fingers, espresso, mascarpone and cocoa. I thought this Tiramisu was great. It was a huge portion but the quality of the dessert was excellent. The Tiramisu was nice and fluffy and the cream was sweet but not too overbearing. I say this is a must finish for the meal. Brownie Sundae- Thick fudge brownie topped with mounds of vanilla ice cream, caramel, chocolate syrup, walnuts and whipped cream. I thought this was pretty standard. It wasn't a bad sundae by any means but it wasn't a great one. It just seamed pretty generic.

Cute Italian place that always seems to be crowded when I drive by. However, I've walked in several times sans reservation and was always seated promptly. First off, the bread...so good! Tastes like sicilian pizza cut into small pieces. They have your typical Italian fare...the Tortellini Amore and the penne fussi...molto bene! Must tries. However, you can't go wrong with most of the pasta dishes. Garlic knots are soft and taste like they're fresh from the oven. They have an average wine selection. The portions are huge! Prices are super reasonable, too. I'm gonna lean towards business casual..don't walk in with flip flops and cutoffs, but don't dress like you're going to the opera either. It's a great place to take the family for a special occasion or take a date who isn't afraid of calories.

Very very very good Italian food! I never order appetizers but the meals are great and you get plenty of leftovers for the next day. They have a very good selection of wine and I think they are reasonably priced with their menu. I would recommend this place if you have an Italian food craving as every time I go here the food is spot on!

Cafe Baci portions are not for the timid. This is the kind of place you come to with a monstrous appetite for Italian fare. I suggest being on the verge of starving. The portions are large and I always have more than enough afterwards to bring home. I recently made a return visit to Cafe Baci at the beginning of the summer after an intense craving for penne a la vodka. Their version is the Penne Saporite: a comforting, creamy pasta dish with grilled chicken, spinach, and melted mozzarella. It is undoubtedly delectable, and worth every calorie. In addition, I sampled other dishes at my table including the insalata al salmone and the pollo campagnola. The insalata al salmone is likely the best salad with salmon that I've ever had. The salmon was broiled, thinly sliced and crispy contrasting well with the arugula, endive, and boston lettuce. Salmon was not overcooked, as I've frequently found in my food experiences. As for the pollo campagnola, by now I was up to my neck with food, but could still enjoy the juicy chicken and roasted potatoes. Best qualities of Cafe Baci is that it's open later than most restaurants on LI, so being a late dinner gal, this is worth all the stars. Their service is down to a tee. Someone is always willing to help you, even though he/she may not be your waiter/waitress. I never had to ask for water. Glasses are filled. The managers facilitate the flow and seating remarkably all the times I have gone here for dinner. My one tip is to not overindulge in the bread dish at the beginning (even though it's just so good) because the food is worth the wait. You also don't really need an appetizer unless you're dining with a big group because the portions are significant. You can probably get another 2 meals out of the leftovers ;)

Delicious as always. I'm never disappointed at Cafe Baci. The portions are huge and the waiters are very nice also. Excellent service and quality. They're always so packed so they don't take reservations on the weekends, especially at night.

My wife and I have been coming here for a few years now and its one of our fail proof places to go to on any lunch or dinner date. The food quality is consistent. The staff is always super friendly, attentive and prompt. Friday/saturday nights you can expect a wait of at least an hour, if not more, and parking sometimes can be a tight as well. I always order the same thing, the triccio al bacio (probably spelled horribly wrong, its the tri color pasta) and my wife has rotated amongst several items, always been satisfied. The dinner portions are huge, definitely plan on having leftovers for lunch the next day! The appetizers are hearty, plentiful, filling and delicious, we love the calamari and fried mozzarella. it may not be authentic italian or the best italian ever, but it will always have our business and has never once disappointed us in 5 years of going there!
