Pizzeria Uno makes greasy, salty, deep-dish pizzas. Let's just state that from the get-go and accept is as a matter of fact. I've had authentic Chicago-style deep dish pizza in Chicago, and Uno's product is definitely a mass-market take on that slice. So, food aside, we can start reviewing things. The Crossgates Mall location is pretty nice. It's not the most intimate or interesting location, but service and food are reliably prompt and delicious, and the decor and seating arrangements are quite nice, given the constraints of being in a mall. I love the lighting. The restaurant is dimly lit, and each table has its own pendant light which shines down on the table top, creating an intimate space for the booth. Sitting in a booth, the rest of the restaurant seems to be far away because the booth creates this special space for its occupants. The lighting, for me, completes the effect of creating an intimate space. The service is also great. Our water was "John", and he was humorous, humble, but also assertive and ready to give opinions. He checked up on us frequently and made sure that we weren't lacking for anything. He was also quite good looking -- a definite plus. The bar is also good. There aren't too many televisions, for one. In fact, when you're at a table or booth, you generally don't have a TV blaring at you, which is a really nice change from the status quo which, these days, seems to be "stuff as many TVs as you can into every unoccupied space" when you're at a restaurant with a bar. I don't like TV because it's obnoxious and distracting, so I definitely appreciate it when a restaurant avoids putting them in. As a last thing, regarding the portions at Uno: be prepared to take some home unless you're with a group of three or more. "Deep Dish" means that the pizza is also quite deep (i.e. thick), and a slice of this stuff is like two slices of a regular pie. It's totally delish, though, and re-heats really well.

I like this place. It's nothing fancy, but it's better than some of the other chain restaurants. My boyfriend and I usually stop in before going to the movies on weekends. Service is usually pretty good, staff is usually pretty friendly, food is usually pretty good.

The service was slow, and the food items were so-so. A table left because the waitress was taking forever to get to them, we were about to leave too.

This review is based solely on their gluten free pizza. My husband had a deep dish regular pizza and it looked/smelled fantastic, but alas, I can no longer eat regular pizza. Pizza is one food that I miss terribly so I was excited to hear that Uno was now offering a gluten free variety. I went with the gluten free pepperoni thin crust (thin crust is all that's available gluten free). When it arrived at our table it looked ok, not nearly as good as the deep dish did but I had high hopes none the less. Overall, it was 'ok'. I think it was undercooked as the crust was rather gooey/doughy and couldn't be held like a normal slice of pizza, I had to eat it with a knife and fork. I took the leftovers home. I guess if I had to base it on the leftovers, I'd say it wasn't that great because I don't know if I'll even eat them. Service was good and hubby loved his deep dish pizza.

Eh. That's the best way to describe this place. I ordered the rattlesnake pasta and it was incredibly salty and lacking any flavor other than jalapeno. I thought the jalapenos were just there to COMPLIMENT (mind you, I adoreee jalapenos) the dish, but they just didn't seem to taste right in this case. Not impressed.... However, my boyfriend got the chicken parm, and that was pretty good!

Absolutely awful experience. Waitress was rude, salad was pre made and the pizza was still a bit frozen. Never coming back!! I understand why this place is closing left and right!!

We decided to dine here on Saturday around 5:30pm before we headed to a 6:40 movie. We eat here a couple times a month and occasionally use coupons. I generally find the food to be decent and it is convenient location and kid friendly. We were pleasantly greeted and seated and we waited, and waited, and no server came to our table. And then we witnessed the table next to us being helped by a server which sent me over the edge since we had been seated first and still had not been visited by a server. I worked at a few local restaurants as a hostess while in high school and college and to me this is inexcusable. Maybe I'm being harsh, but I expect good customer service and Uno's had many staff buzzing past us and no one bothered to check on us. After 15 minutes we left and on the way out (to my husbands horror) I mentioned to the hostess we had not been visited by a server and that is why we were leaving. She apologized and made no move to provide further assistance. We dined instead at Johnny Rockets to a decent meal and very good customer service.

Tried yet again, & yet again, truly disappointed. Overpriced (over breaded) bad food. IF u decide to "dine" here, order salad.

We frequent Uno's often. We eat there for a couple of reasons. First, it's family friendly and our daughter loves it. Obviously it's a chain, and as such, dining with children is not an issue. Kids get crayons and their own menu to color on, to keep them occupied while you wait for the food to arrive. Second and more importantly, Uno's is one of the better casual dining chains. The food for the most part is healthier than other chains. With lots of options for most every appetite. That said, the deep dish pizzas leave something to be desired. If you're in the mood for pizza, skip the deep dish and get one of the thin crust pizzas which are generally very good. The prices are in line with other chains. The beer and wine selection is good and the service is usually friendly and efficient.

I hate myself for eating here. The food I got was greasy and lacked flavor and the service was horrible. I asked for a refill and to go cup, but that seemed like asking for too much for our server. Food was bad, service was slow. That's all you need to know.

Overall good experience until I got home and found out the waiter threw out half of the pizza he was supposed to wrap up in a doggie bag. Also ate one of my mozzarella sticks, or threw it out. So if you go there and take home food, check out your doggie bag to see if you get what you paid for.

I had a craving for some deep dish so I decided to go to uno's in the mall and it was a good choice! I sat at the table arcross from the bar so I could look out the window that showed the people walking around the mall.

We ordered the lunch special today. I had soup, breadsticks and salad and my husband had soup and deep dish pizza. We had to wait half an hour for our food (except for the soup). The Caesar Salad was nothing but lettuce, some flavorless croutons and dressing. My husbands pizza was burned on top and extremely greasy - it was dripping grease. We didn't get the bread sticks and I asked the waitress about it, she said she would check into it and didn't come back until she was ready with the check. We never got the bread sticks. This is the last time we will eat at Uno.

Waitress was not very knowledgeable about beer selection. Her "New" sandwich had one piece of bacon and a small cube of Avacado. Turkey was sliced much to thick and fries were so so. My Pizza Uno was good as I expected.

Vegetarian based review! We get the farmers market deep dish pizza every time. We've dabbled with the other vegetarian pizza options, but this is our all-time fav. Always super delish! And, we don't know if crust is as important to you as it is us, but their crust is so good! Of course there's the typical pasta and salad options for us veggies, but this pizza seriously hits the spot every single time. We took one star away because it's always a freakin grab bag with the waiter/waitress. You really never know if you're going to get a super awesome one or not.

This Uno's isn't as bad as the one in Wilton, but it's nowhere near as good as the one in Latham. The service is inconsistent--it's never been terrible, but it's never been great, either. Unfortunately, the food is inconsistent as well, and ranges from pretty good to pretty terrible. The other Unos may be all over the place with service, but the food is usually pretty standard--this is the only one I've been to where I really don't know what to expect from the kitchen. It's gotten to the point where we'll be at Crossgates and be like, "Let's go to Uno's!" and then hop in our car and drive up to the one at exit 6.

I love this place! Nothing fancy, but if you want good old american food that will do bad things to your body, come here

I think because it's a mall space, there's actually a fairly limited amount of seating in here. However, I must say, though it's not saying much, it is a little better (at least in the food quality and prep department) than the Latham franchise. It's a relatively safe choice if you're at Crossgates and are looking for something a little nicer than the foodcourt (and Johnny Rockets) but cheaper than some of the fancier places (and Johnny Rockets), but don't go expecting any homeruns.

We went here because we had a coupon, but it wasn't worth the minor discount. Typical chain-type food, as it tasted processed, etc. We ordered salads and a deep dish pizza and neither were anything to write home about. The service was fine as we had a nice waitress, but it was awfully loud.

We don't usually eat at the mall, but I was craving a deep dish pizza like it was no one's business, so we ate at Uno. I think we got the best waitress in the joint, she was super nice and helpful. My deep dish was deliciously stuffed with cheese, and my date's steak tips were also pretty tasty. Thus may be the first time we were really impressed with our experience at a chain.

I suppose it's strange to say, but I may actually never have had pizza any of the multiple times I've been to Pizzeria Uno Chicago Bar & Grill. Ever since I first tried their Pizza Skins (a deep dish crust filled with red bliss mashed potatoes, topped with cheddar cheese and chopped bacon, with some sour cream for dipping), I haven't been able to order anything else whenever I stopped in. And, oh, how I miss that appetizer now! I look forward to the day it is possible to order Pizzeria Uno Pizza Skins closer to San Francisco than an hour away in Antioch.
