I was encouraged enough by some of the rave reviews and praise from Alec Baldwin et al., to take a drive over here only to be definitively underwhelmed by the 3 plain slices I ordered to go. The bottle of MUG root beer I grabbed from the small cooler near the front door, at least, didn't disappoint, but the pizza was decidedly mediocre at best: thin lame crust, almost no cheese on the slices and what there was was like some horrid fake crap that didn't even chew or melt like a normal Neopolitan slice, and there wasn't that much cheese on there to begin with, the sauce bland and skimpy as hell, the crust around the edges was like hard and burnt and almost inedible/indigestible. Not very good. I don't know what pizza Alec Baldwin was used to growing up out there east of where I grew up on Long Island but I'm telling everyone I know that we had at least five billion-times better pizza joints (even hole in the wall joints like the one that I used to frequent at the West Village Green in Levittown LI which was amazing but now long gone), including Domenicos (still there and still quite good), Cataffos (the one that used to be next to Tri-County Flea Market in Levittown which served us high schoolers some of the best basic slices that have ever come out of a Baker's Pride oven), Borrelli's of E. Meadow (still there but not nearly as good as it was in the 1970s-80s). I really don't know about Queens pizzerias or Brooklyn since I didn't grow up either place, or get there much in my younger years, but I"m telling you any of the aforementioned LI joints WOULD HAVE BLOWN BROTHERS AWAY. Another joint that was one of the best pizza places on LI was the late great Sammy's Inferno in Levittown, used to be on Gardiner's Avenue, now also shut down for at least several years. Was Brothers the worst pizza I've ever had? No, definitely not, but it still is mediocre and nothing to write home about. Given its upscale rep I expected a lot more and got a lot less. I'm hearing there are still great pizza slice joints down in Howard Beach, which is where I'm heading next and if those places suck, I guess my now-Quixotic quest for actual good LI or Queens NY pizza will have proven a true fool's errand. My theory is the problem nowadays is the quality is crap, people trying to save money and using sub-standard ingredients, fake mozz., and Ragu sauce on their pizza and I can tell all you fakirs that that ain't gonna cut it. Anyway, Brothers wasn't truly absymal but it lacked anything to make it a memorable and rich slice of pizza, and skimped on everything, even a bit of grease! So no, I wouldn't go back and I can't really recommend it. Even the pizza at Lenny's Clam Bar in E. Meadow LI was 10000x better years ago (it's not there anymore, naturally) and they weren't even KNOWN FOR THEIR PIZZA! This is a sad and pathetic state of affairs as far as I'm concerned. Someone out on LI needs to step up to the plate and try to recreate the type of slice that some of these buttkickin' joints used to slam out. It cannot be that tough: get real good quality mozzarella, good oregano/basil, homemade sauce, and the right high quality crust and a Bakers Pride or two and you should be able to come up with actual good pizza again. But you cut too many corners (and lack experience which might help a bit as well) and this is what results: pizza that is barely better than Ellio's frozen or the even more hideous Domino's or Papa John's. Blechh. I think the best pizza I've had in the past 20 years has to be John's on Bleecker Street. in the West Village, NYC. I know it's not the type of basic slice pizzeria I'm pining for now, more the coal/brick oven type of pie but goddamned is John's great and worth the wait and every penny you will spend, trust me on that one. I heartily recommend it. It's so good, you won't care if it's a regular slice, brick coal oven, or out of a bonfire, it's that bloody good!

Delicious, but rude as hell on the phone for orders. I'd give them a 3, except their customer service is awful.

I had my first slice of New York pizza here over 15 years ago. It's family owned and great place to eat in or have delivered. The pizza is always fresh, and the garlic knots are great! It's cozy, and is kept traditional. love Brother's Pizzeria!

I grew up eating pizza here and the same people have been working there since I was young and their friendly personalities haven't changed and neither have their handmade pizzas. This place is very generous with toppings and drinks and their other food isn't too bad either. I like their garlic knots and beef patties as well. Everything is made fresh and served hot.

Excellent pizza. Some of the best classic NY pizza around. This place has been around for 50 years I think, and nothing has changed. Very classic atmosphere with a very friendly Italian man serving you with grace. His expertise with making pizzas is superb. Crust, sauce, cheese, all excellent. Cant be better than a great slice, a fountain soda, and the newspaper.

This neighborhood pizzeria has been around for over 40 years and EVERYTHING is great here (and I am not being biased)! The owners are two Italian brothers and the staff is also family. I had my first pizza slice here when I was three and always try to make a stop here when I am in the neighborhood. Even actor Alec Baldwin stops by here for a slice when he's on his way back to visit family in Long Island (there's a photo of him and one of the brothers hanging on the wall if you don't believe me). You can sit at the front counter bar and watch them make the pies or sit at one of the small tables in the back. They offer everything from pastas to salads to pizzas to antipasti and mains.

sigh. ok, here's another 'awesome pizza' not so awesome everything else place. they have the yummiest sauce and really thick, fluffy, crunch sicilian slices (my favorite)...but the baby roach that decided to meander across the counter while i waited to pay...not so much. when the poor guy behind the counter saw it, he looked at me, i looked at him...and all i could manage to say was 'i'll be right back'...but i can't bring myself to go back :( they keep their cheese in a drawer under the pizza making counter...all i can imagine is the little roaches crawling in it at night. but if these things don't bother you...and there are a LOT of people who it wouldn't bother...the pizza is among the best.

I've been living in Flushing for nearly 30 years and it's nearly impossible to find a good neighborhood pizza place. Brother's reminds me of my childhood pizza place, Al Dente, that used to be on Main St right next to East Buffet. The pizza is very good, in my view a classic NYC slice. Moderately thin crust with a good balance of sauce and cheese for perfect bite -- sweet sauce, salty melted mozz and good chew from the crust. I went in on a Monday to get a pie for my kids and was pleasantly surprised to see it was Monday special of $9.99 for a large cheese pie. I ordered the special with half pepperoni (only $2.50 extra) and waited about 15 minutes so I sat at the counter where the man was constantly cranking out pies every 5 minutes. This is just like they way they used to do it at Al Dente. The place has the feel of NYC neighborhood pizza place from my childhood. Definitely my go to pizza place even though I have to drive from Flushing. A good NYC slice beats any of the mass chain pizza.

My boyfriend wanted pizza one day by my house. I took him to the only place I knew and we ended up sitting at the counter at Brother's. The pizza is classic NY and dependable; thin crunchy crust, good tomato sauce, and just the right amount of cheese. Come here for 2 slices and be on your way.

yummy sauce and crispy crust. this place is old school and the food is great. they also have italian ices. yeah there may be roaches, that just means they like the food too!

My brother has requested this pizza every few weeks. My blessing and curse is that the regular pie changes every single time! Listen, I can handle a simple 3 out of 5 star slice, but I have experienced 4/5 very often from the Brother's staff. The delivery guy is pretty funny. When I eat by the parlor, everyone around is engulfed in a topic where everyone can jump in. As I wrote this review, I decided to give this place another star for ambiance. I enjoy spending time in the pizza shop with my brother. As usual, we order a whole pie to ourselves due to the gluttonous, subconscious excuse known as the "Munchies". We take a few bites, laugh, and we turn to the tap on my shoulder. We look up to see our neighbor and his girlfriend. They were ordering slices and a fountain drink to share. We put the mini tables together and started a hang out session. If you are looking for a simple time, swing by, but park far. Nothing beats a good walk to reminisce about the laughs.

Brother's serves up good pizza at fair prices. Decor, which probably hasn't changed since 1963, is a little lacking. However, they more than make up for this in taste, friendliness, and value. A place to bring a hot date? Probably not. A place for a quick, cheap, delicious lunch? Absolutely.

I had never been here but after reading the reviews (that and they are like 5 blocks away) I knew I had to try them out. It's a decent sized place that looks like it's been around forever but it was still nice and clean. I'd imagine that it is a family owned joint and I like that. As for the food I got a slice of Sicilian and a slice of regular......OK I got two regular. (I was starving and I'm a fat kid, what can I say) The Sicilian was nice and airy which is a change from the usual spots around that make it way too dense. Definitely one of the better ones I've had. As for the regular, what he other reviewers say is correct. probably one of the best slices I've had in NY. Crispy crust that as you worked your way in to the center got nice and soft. perfect sauce and great cheese coverage. Like I said one of the best I've had in NY. I am a fan of this place now and in an area where there are like 8 different pizza places in a 3 mile radius , I may have found my favorite.

A classic old school pizzeria. Slices are thin, crisp and just saucy and cheesy enough. Those ugly but delicious bubbles sometimes adorn a slice. My only problem is that sometimes they're a little handsy with the pizza after they've handled money.

I dont know what it is about this place but I LOVE their italian hero sandwich! Crusty bread, cucumbers, mushrooms, peppers, cheese and meat. It all comes together wonderfully. I crave this sandwich far too often. Aside from that, I think their pizza and atmosphere is great. Its a very old pizza place which a counter to eat at as well as a back restaurant area. It reminds me of what pizza places used to look like. The staff is always helpful as well.

Great little local place near the movie theater. JP, Foose, Reggi and I hit here before our movie and it was very cheap and decent pizza. They lose stars a) lack of toppings - no spinach? really, b) cash only - what is this, a 70's mafia film? and c) when I asked for water, they literally gave me a shot glass of water - what am I supposed to do with that? At least the experience provided a laugh for me and the boys the entire night.

Grew up in tis nabe and came here with my friends back in junior high school. The place still looks the same but that's part of the charm. It's just great pizza with a yummy sweet sauce. Every time I go and sit at the counter it transports me back to being 13.

Very solid choice for a slice, not just in Queens, but in NYC in general. I'm a little biased having lived about a mile away for most of my life and eating it on the regular, but I still find myself dropping in for a pie or chicken roll when I'm back visiting my Mom. What I like best is that they don't try to reinvent the wheel with these crazy and zany slices like buffalo chicken, bacon cheeseburger, or my personal pet peeve...the infamous salad slice. At Brothers, you'll get an traditional slice the way it's supposed to be, and at a good price to boot! Good location too as you have the LIE, Clearview, Utopia, etc, all right there. Give it a try, you may even bump into Alec Baldwin or Jon Favreau; they both claim it to be their favorite NYC slice. ;-)

Really old school pizzeria, and whenever I go in, it's got the same folks sitting around and talking. Feels like a real neighborhood place. The pizza is great, the heroes are a little on the skimpy side, but always really good. It's prototypical pizza: solid in every way. My only gripe is that when I order a pie with half of one topping and half another, they charge full price for both toppings. So, a pie with half pepperoni and half mushrooms is the same price as a pie with pepperoni and mushrooms on the whole thing. That's dumb. It doesn't stop me from going there often, but I don't order half and half pies anymore.

This pizza shop has been around for many years but its very easy to miss. I've been living in this area for a long time myself and never noticed it. i heard about the Monday large pie special on Yelp and decided to give them a try. The place is a bit run down and not very big but feels very old school. That being said it was still clean in appearance. They have counter stools which is something I haven't seen in years. I figured since they have been around so long the pizza can't be bad. Their large pie honestly seems more like a medium but for $9.99 plus tax it's still not a bad deal. We came in and ordered right away and were told it would be ready in 10 minutes; and it was. The dough was good, the crust was on the thinner side and appropriately crisp. Perfect cheese to sauce ratio. This is one of my biggest complaints at most pizzerias so I usually order pies with extra sauce. I ordered it regular this time to see what their usual pie is like. They put the right amount of sauce without having to be told. The sauce is slightly sweet with mild hints of spice without going too crazy on the oregano. I grabbed a menu on my way out as well. Brothers Pizza rates well in comparison to the competition in the area and for the value I think it's totally worth a return visit.

Lemme tell you guys something. I'm a Brooklynite through and through. So when it comes to pizza, I'm pickier than most who live outside the greatest place on earth. I was on Facebook the other day when I noticed a childhood friend of mind post something about the best queens pizzerias. Brother's were fortunate to make the cut, so I decided to hit this joint up. Man, this place has got to look the same way it did when it first opened up back in the 70's so first impression, I knew this pizza would be good. I ordered a couple of plain slices and was instantly impressed. Fuhgeddabodit, this pizzeria erased any doubt I ever had about pizza in queens. Brother's Pizzaeria, check them out. Tell them Al sent ya.

This pizzeria has been around for 50 years. We came her for the first time today. I loved the crust. I thought the sauce was a little too sweet for me. The guys at the counter have the sweetest smiles. The ac was blowing full blast. It felt wonderful. The stools at the counter are cute. I know others absolutely adore their pizza... If I could go back into my time machine, I would eat at Angelo's pizza on Main Street near Jewel Ave. I miss it so...

Brother's pizza is great to sit down and grab a plain or pepperoni slice. I personally don't eat pork but my friends do and they like it. The slices here are fresher than most other pizzerias but the counter setup is different so there's nothing on display. I kind of want to see my options, literally.

This is absoulutly my favorite pizza in all of NY. I am a true nyer and this pizza always hits the spot. The people who work in there are really nice and when you tell them extra cheese you are seriously getting extra cheese they dont gip you like most places in nyc do. Everyone needs to try brothers one time or another.

  • Alejandro T.

After reading all the reviews, I was really expecting a lot. I ordered just a regular slice (something I always do when I go to a spot I've never been too). It was average to me. It's good don't get me wrong, it just didn't blow my mind. To be fair I also ordered a silcilian slice which was better, but again nothing mind blowing. Overall, if you are in the area it will do the trick.

I have been looking to complete my top 5 local pizzerias, and this was the missing piece. One late evening, I decided to look up a place in fresh meadows to grab a slice and found this amazing place. Not only were they still willing to feed the two of us 45 minutes before closing, they were sweet, and the pizza was delicious. Even when it was the end of the day, the pizza still was yummy. The crust was thin, which I do not mind because it's a NY slice and the sauce was sweet. I am very picky in regards to my crust and this man did an amazing job. I loved this place so much after my first impression, that I referred my family to head over here the following evening and purchased three pies. Everyone at home loved and enjoyed it. Will definitely try their entrees and dinner plates. You've made me a dedicated fan, sir :)

Reminds me of the old school pizzaria joints in queens back in the 80's, with the addition of the flat screen TVs. The pizza was pretty good, their reg slice not being doughy. I'd stop by again if I'm ever in the neighborhood.

Was back in the other day. A+ as always. I go out of my way to stop in here if I am even remotely close. Not many classic NY slices left that are as good as the ones at this place.

I always go there after school to get the school special and I am never disappointed with my pizza. The atmosphere is great and there is always great conversation. It's a good place to go with your friends.

Forgot to review this place. Probably my favorite local take out pizza place in Queens which is where I lived most of my life. Thin slices packed with amazing sauce. Also try out their chicken parmigiano, they are definitely generous with the chicken part, something most pizza places are stingy with.

My childhood memories include the great taste of Brothers Pizza as I ate there often from age 6 to 20. I have only eaten there just once in the last 25 years. I had to go back in an attempt to relive the sensation. As I park my car and take a good look at the block, I realize a lot has changed in 25 years. The street was littered with garbage and im glad I moved to a better area. Just telling the truth. It's ugly..... but not a bad neighborhood at all. The pizza was VERY thin and the crust was exceptional ( like so many other reviewers have pointed out ). Possibly too thin for some people, but I thought it tasted great. The sensation was relived !! Brothers really took me back in time as the guy making the pizza was the same guy that made the pizza when I was a kid. Amazing !! And more amazing that he remembered me. He's making pizza for 40 years ( and takes pride in doing it ). They still have the same signs inside ( with prices taped to it ). I have posted a photo of the sign and at $6.50 for a chicken parm. hero I can honestly say their prices have barely gone up. Nothing fancy inside...... just a neat old school pizza place. It's about the pizza not the decor.

Being a long time resident of Fresh Meadows I have been eating Brothers Pizza, slices and whole pies for 40+ years. Although ownership of the restaurant changed several years ago, Joe, the pizza maker is still there and still makes the best pizza this side of Naples. The pizza is thin crust with a slightly sweet sauce and just enough mozzarella cheese and can be had with any of the traditional toppings (pepperoni, sausage, meatballs, mushrooms, onions and anchovies). I recommend trying Brothers Pizzeria to anyone who happens to be in the neighborhood or anywhere else east of the Rockies. By the way if you have leftover pizza at home and want to reheat it forget the microwave. Place the slice(s) in a frying pan, loosely cover with aluminum foil and heat over very low heat until the cheese is melted.

  • Bryan T.

Quite possibly some of the best pizza in NYC. I can rant on and on about what makes Brothers pizza so good but I'll just wrap it up and say if you're in the area and looking for good pizza, look no further.

The only pizza I eat when I'm back in NYC! Was there last weekend and still as good as when I was a kid. The neighborhood looks a little different each time I come home, but at least I can always count on a great slice at Brothers. Thanks guys!

I recently started working in the neighborhood and am always on the lookout for good pizza. I enjoy spending my breaks here, listening to the regulars, watching tv (sometimes the news, sports, or even Rocky), and just soaking in the no- frills, old-school pizzeria feel. The food itself is fantastic. I've tried their heroes and pasta, but most days opt for a pepperoni slice. I've not once been disappointed. The prices are good. It's nothing fancy but it's my type of pizza place.

I love this pizzeria! I have been going here since High School and seeing Joe the pizza man there since then. Mondays they have a $10 dollar pie, so go try this place out. Try their Baked Ziti but you have to eat in to make it unbelievable, order a side of meatballs and garlic bread. OMG! you will love it! You just have to trust me! Try it!

Ever have a a sauce that you can't stop eating or drinking... well, that's my case. I must admit I've had saucier sauces when it comes to pizza sauce but after a while those are too acidic for my tummy and my mouth finds it a little too much. At Brothers, the regular slice is to die for and so are the garlic knots. But when it comes to the chicken parm.. thats where the sauce comes in.. at first bite, you'll think the sauce is a bit on the light side. Light sauce is usually not tasty enough, but Brother's pizza sauce is. And the best part is, you can eat your entire meal, all the pasta too, and not have an acidic upset stomach and still be craving more. Now I frequent Brother's for pizza, one slice isn't enough.

  • Eli G.

I'm liking this place. I'm liking it a lot. Much has been said about the "old school" slice at Amore. This establishment and their pizza are of the same vintage. However, Brother's is less recognized and celebrated. It's just a hole in the wall along the LIE, easily passed by without notice. If you did you'd likely not see anything appealing or promising about it. Walk in and it doesn't get much better. But then again, humbleness, lack of pretension are signatures of some of the best pizza joints around and defining characteristics of "old school." Pass by without noticing or caring and not giving Brother's a try and you will miss the opportunity to have the best slice around. Go! Tell them Eli sent you. They'll ask "who's Eli?" They may not know me now but they'll get to know me well as I will be a regular.

'Very' Good Pizza, for sure. Crust is stunning, overall Pizza experience is very interesting but still not in the elite top class of best on NYC! Was there today. NIce people working their, been here since 1963. (a year before the worlds fair a mile up the road in flushing meadow) Oregano in sauce and other specific issues with the cheese, takes it to unique taste, keeps it just as great but not the best in NYC Pizza. Though is bested by these three Pizza places in the area. Mind you these three places are some of the best pizza in the 'country', so Brother's regular slice is very great overall. -VIPizza- in Bayside Queens NY on Bell Blvd -Sicilian slices (specially not regular) when hot out of the oven (never get re-heated or even sitting for more then 5 min) ARE the best YOU will ever likely have. --VIPizza --Best Sicilian (note another place with same name is in floral park, it is NOT the place I am talking about) Regular I have two places. One slice if very different then the other but both a master class NYC PIzza. Besting most if not ALL Pizza places that are actually in NYC (manhattan) --Amore Pizza -in Flushing Queens off the Whitestone expressway & --New Park Pizza-- in Howard Beach Queens Once u have had either, when they you get a fresh hot pie you will understand REAL quick what I am talking of here! I walk into these places with my own Mexican Coke, as almost all Pizzerias only serve inferior tasting coke with corn syrup! But I do respect Alec Baldwin and his amazing taste in Pizza and more so, in his lifestyle and beliefs. He is one of a kind, the real deal and lives in east hampton.

I had my first slice of New York pizza here over 15 years ago. It's family owned and great place to eat in or have delivered. The pizza is always fresh, and the garlic knots are great! It's cozy, and is kept traditional. love Brother's Pizzeria!

I'm feeling nostalgic about when I was a kid and every pizza place and bagel store in Queens was great. I just left a review for Bagel Oasis which is a block away from Brothers. Something would be amiss if I didn't plug Brothers Pizza. If you didn't grow up in Brooklyn, Queens or the Bronx, this is a place you want to go to get real NYC pizza. This place looks exactly how pizza places looked 40 years ago. 20 years ago, you may have walked in here and thought they need updating. Now the place is like a beautiful antique that really brings you back. They have a counter with the round padded stools for quick casual dining. (the predecessor of the sushi bar) The first time I walked in, I got really excited. They had both kinds of pizza; regular and Sicilian. No sneeze glass with 20 kinds of dried up combo slices. Just one fresh pie after another coming out, getting sliced up and served. The anticipation was killing me. I slid onto a stool, looked at the 2 beautiful slices on the plain white paper plate and drooled from the smell. I took the red pepper shaker (the one with the holes punched bigger so the flakes can come out) and spiced it how I like. I closed my eyes and took a bite. Like a time traveller, I was transported to a time when NY pizza was NY pizza. If you are not from NY or if you want to show your kids what real pizza is, you MUST GO TO BROTHERS.

The Story: I moved to Queens about a year ago and have been on a quest to find something that comes close to an old Brooklyn slice. I grew up in Brooklyn all my life and had all types of pizza in Brooklyn and I can say it cant be beat. Even my wife who grew up in Queens got hooked on my Brooklyn neighborhood pizza after that she always says its not the same anywhere else! Well after working in Long Island for a couple years and having pizza for lunch on occasion I was really missing my old joint taste. Granted LI pizza is different but its just not for me.After an exhaustive search, (even my wife gave up) I came upon Brothers pizza in Fresh Meadows and it was great. The Verdict: The slice was VERY close as it was back home, not too thick of a crust all around but and the perfect blend of cheese and sauce. The cheese has jsut the right amount that it doesnt fall off in one bite and the sauce is not watery but not too thick either with that slight sweet tangy taste. The crust wasnt as crispy on the bottom but on the back it was. And I think bits of basil or oregano are in there as well I wasnt sure. But as a Brooklyn native all my life this was one of the best slices ive had in Queens for awhile and the wife agrees! Just writing this review makes me want to go get one now. The only thing im trying to figure out is why the sizes? They offer Medium, and Large something im not used to cause I just call in for a pie usually and never asked for a size.

There must be really good pizzas in Queens, right? Yep, Brother's Pizza is absolutely on my list for delicious pizzas in NYC. I came here with my partner after reading Yelp's review. This pizza joint has a decent amount of seating. We ordered a medium pizza. They made the pizza on the spot so we waited for ten minutes. Once it was done, the pizza was brought to our table. Once I put the pizza in my mouth, I knew this pizza was the "it" pizza. The crust was crunchy and thin. The pizza is beyond my expectation. This pizza is better than Grimaldi's! I'll be coming back to Brother's Pizza when I have huge cravings for pizza especially when the large pie is for $9.99 on Tuesday to Thursday!

This place has an old feel to it.Like this place is stuck in time like the 70's.Don't let that F$*& you up.Yea i read the Alec Baldwin hype. Not really a fan but figured its near by why not. I'm not a fan of regular cheese pizza but i couldn't really see slices hanging out waiting to be picked. It seemed as if you want to get a special slice they would take the cheese and add what you want. So the cheese pizza was good i can't describe it but it was good.My wife liked it alot. The garlic knots where not your typical round and hard.they were like sticks and fluffy. I would definitely come back.Worried about parking because it is on horace harding .I would probably love to come back and get a supreme slice if they have or some kinda hero hot or cold.

I grew up in Queens and grew up on Brothers Pizza. Hands down it was the best tasting pizza I have ever had, always consistent, and the standard I have measured all other pieces of Pizza against. I hadn't been back to Brothers in over 20 years, as I now live on the West Coast. My travels took me back to NY last weekend and my wife and I drove around our old neighborhoods and I was so happy to see Brothers was still there. We went in, ordered some slices and the childhood memories just came back to life instantly. I forgot how good their pizza really is, perfect crust, sauce, cheese, and fold! We ended up chatting with the owner (who was great and gave us 2 T-Shirts) and some other locals. It was like 20 years hadn't gone by and I was back in the old neighborhood. If you want real authentic pizza in a great place, Brothers is a must see place to checkout, you won't be disappointed, although it will make it harder for you to enjoy a good slice anywhere else!!!!

Had the Monday special for 9.99. Thought it was a bit undersized and not a traditional large pie. Also a bit overly salty. Definitely had better pizza at Napoli, I think most of the reviews here are overrating Brothers a bit.

A really great old-world style pizza place that's been around about as long as Fresh Meadows itself. You can tell they haven't changed much in decades. Excellent pizza and garlic knots; my favorite is a chicken and tomato pie. The crust is perfect, the chicken is moist and delicious, and the tomatoes are fresh and generously cut. If you live in Fresh Meadows and order delivery they are very fast, a much more efficient operation than the local franchises that make you wait an hour for a pie!

The food here is very average, nothing special but not so horrible that I wouldn't go back. But I would only go back to get their specials. Monday there is a $9.99 large pizza. I have to say, this was one really big pizza, probably actually even bigger than 16" and it was great that it had italian seasonings baked into the cheese. I enjoyed that, but honestly it was pretty bland. I would not get the pastas here at full price, they are definitely not worth it, especially if you add say meatballs. $3 for 2 very small meatballs, probably with a diameter between 1.5" and 2". This place is okay as long as you get the deals. They have different ones throughout the week which are: Monday - Large cheese pizza for $9.99 Tuesday Sunday - Italian dish

In the defense of Brother's Pizzeria, I must say that although the place looks vintage and cute, it is very gritty. When I went in one day, a server handled money and then proceeded to serve me my slice. I kindly asked him to wash his hands... no biggy. So if you're just plain scared to ask or you're from New Jersey just don't come here.Outside of that, I've never seen a roach. This joint is awesome. The crust defies physics, how can something be crispy yet fluffy on the inside? The sauce is kindly in your face, letting you know that it won't be out done or outshone by the pepperoni or the cheese. The cheese offers enough character for you to notice, it melts beautifully over its tomato sauce base. I have enjoyed the regular cheese and pepperoni and both blow anything in Manhattan or Brooklyn out of the water. Brother's Pizza? Yes, please.

I'm not from NY and I don't have a "favorite" NY place. My partner grew up in Queens around the block from Brother's so every time we visit we have to stop in for a pie. Last week we were in NY for 6 days and ate pizza 8 times (no joke), usually just a slice, you know, as a snack. Brother's is as good as it gets. It has the charm of having been there forever, the guys who work there are delightfully, quintessential New Yorkers. I will never argue about making the trek from Manhattan to Queens to get a Brother's pie.

Sounds like Scott B. must have run into Joe the pizza maker. Sounds like an awful long review for pizza. Brothers pizza is your no frills, local neighborhood pizzeria. You do not need all the bells and whistles to make extraordinary pizza like Brothers does. I have been eating the pizza at Brothers for the past nineteen years. The place has been around for fifty years. Long before Scott B was born. They must be doing something right. And Dennis, the owner, will always greet you with a smile and a handshake. They are the oldest business in the neighborhood. You do not last fifty years serving mediocre pizza. New Yorkers would never allow it. If I were not a type 2 diabetic, I'm sure I would eat a whole pie. Their meatball parm sandwich is the best I've ever had. Their menu is short and to the point. That is why they have lasted for so long. What they do, they do right. So if you are in the mood for the best pizza in Queens, walk, no, RUN to Brothers Pizza. I am sure they will last another fifty years. EVERYBODY CAN'T BE WRONG!!!

I've been a customer for many years...until I was sitting at a table and a roach crawled up the wall in broad daylight. Do you have any idea of the infestation problem one would have if roaches are walking around in the daytime? Sure, the pizza is good. But not worth it to me. A year later I visited again. And just like another person said...a roach crawled right across the counter while I waited for my pizza. The man who was driping with sweat (this was in July) wiped his forehead with his bare hand and removed a slice for another customer. I was DONE at that point. I walked out... nooo thank you!!

I guess there is a reason this place has been in business so long. Really great pizza (we had a plain pie) and really nice guys! Very cool looking place too, both outside and inside, with the stools. I will try to post a photo I took, later on.

Alec Baldwin knows best. So far, I must admit the best regular slice in Queens. By the looks of the slice before the re-heating, I was nervous- Not good looking... But the outside facade and the inside decor told me to judge by the final product. Very good slice, Big map of Sicily just to my left, mixed Pepsi products (with coke cans available), Old advertisments bragging of 25 cent slices (with coupon), and my favorite- a newsclipping of in invterview with Alec Baldwin. Also big style points for the L-shaped bar. The question, "what is you favorite place to stop for food coming from JFK" of course we all know his answer otherwise it wouldnt be here

So glad I found this place! We used to frequent Napoli's on 69th Ave off of 164th street until it went to the dumps several years ago. After that there seemed to be no decent pizza around in the area. Then one day we decided to order from this place (you'd never notice it, its so small) OMG! So glad we did. The dough, the sauce the cheese, is great, still a decent quality (unlike other neighborhood offerings) Seems like in a sea of cheap skate restaurants, this place has managed to keep their quality at a respectable level. I always order from here now. They have a pricey deal though, a soda, garlic knots (which are sooo good!) and a large 1 topping pie for almost $20! Whatever its still a great deal. Hope they stick around for another 50 years!

i like this place. its an old fashioned pizza place. and i really mean old school, no display case with chicken-ziti slices, no vegetable pizzas, etc. just a regular pie and a sicilian pie.... and both are good. parking on horace harding isnt worth it, just park around the corner and walk. i dont think they take cc, but a slice and drink is only like 3 or 4 bucks.

Today I ordered myself a regular pie. It was disgustingly awful. The pie was cut extremely poorly and it had to be fed to the dogs. The cheese would just slide off like water and the bread with a slight amount of tomato sauce would remain. I do NOT recommend anyone eat there as it would ruin the pleasant thought of having a "New York Pizza" I never had wrote a review, but I took the time out of my own life to right this up. WARNING DO NOT GO HERE

Possibly my favorite pizza in all of New York. It's a small mom & pop pizza place. It's homey and not at all pretentious unlike some places you'd find in the city. The pizza has a nice crispy crusts, not chewy or too thick & they use fresh ingredients. The service is pretty darn good too. Definitely check it out if you wanna try the best pizza in NY.

I am relatively new to New York City (a little over 2 years now) and my goal has been to try every place I find's pizza. I've mainly lived in Queens, so I've tried tons of places here and a good number in the city. Brothers is BY FAR the best. I would never order from anywhere else if they took card (cash only, which means if I don't have the cash then I have to go elsewhere in Fresh Meadows). Their Monday night deal (large pie for 9.99) and Tuesday-Thursday deal (large pie, 12 garlic knots, and 2 liter for 16.95) are excellent. I would recommend the latter as their garlic knots are phenomenal. The second best in this area luckily takes cards, so if I'm out of cash and need a fix I go there. But Brothers will always be the best. Fast, nice (but not the type of nice that keeps a phone orderer on for any additional time), and DELICIOUS. Don't go anywhere else.

I was going to be a prick and give this place one star, but that's not fair. They aren't that bad. But to hell with all this 5-star stuff; I had to think of a place that sucks, so I could add a little variety to the ratings. Oh, and nobody should be afraid of an insect (as long as you're not there to see it, so I can't blame Jennifer for leaving). I've gone to places that I knew had mice, but hey, if it tastes good, I don't mind it! Anyway, I don't know how many good pizza places are in the Fresh Meadows area, but you could probably do better than this joint.

Forgot to review this place. Probably my favorite local take out pizza place in Queens which is where I lived most of my life. Thin slices packed with amazing sauce. Also try out their chicken parmigiano, they are definitely generous with the chicken part, something most pizza places are stingy with.

  • Mitchell H.

  • Corey D.

Hands down my favorite slice!!!! Moved out of neighborhood and I still head back to fresh meadows when in the mood for pizza. $9.99 Monday special is the best deal in town. Been coming to Brothers for over 25 years. Keep up the solid slice.

I guess there is a reason this place has been in business so long. Really great pizza (we had a plain pie) and really nice guys! Very cool looking place too, both outside and inside, with the stools. I will try to post a photo I took, later on.

i like this place. its an old fashioned pizza place. and i really mean old school, no display case with chicken-ziti slices, no vegetable pizzas, etc. just a regular pie and a sicilian pie.... and both are good. parking on horace harding isnt worth it, just park around the corner and walk. i dont think they take cc, but a slice and drink is only like 3 or 4 bucks.

  • Eric W.

  • Mike L.

  • JG B.

sigh. ok, here's another 'awesome pizza' not so awesome everything else place. they have the yummiest sauce and really thick, fluffy, crunch sicilian slices (my favorite)...but the baby roach that decided to meander across the counter while i waited to pay...not so much. when the poor guy behind the counter saw it, he looked at me, i looked at him...and all i could manage to say was 'i'll be right back'...but i can't bring myself to go back :( they keep their cheese in a drawer under the pizza making counter...all i can imagine is the little roaches crawling in it at night. but if these things don't bother you...and there are a LOT of people who it wouldn't bother...the pizza is among the best.
