Love the Pad Prik and Pork Fried rice, beef satay and spring rolls very good - but more flavorful dipping sauces would be a good change. It's a shame not more people try this place it always seems empty. But the food is always fresh & prices are more reasonable than other area Thai restaurants.

Decided to give this place another go today, seems tio have got worse.Rude waitress, cold food.Is it any wonder this place was empty.Never going back...

I go for lunch. I just love their pad Thai. Nice decor and great food. But, when you go early sometimes the cook is also the server...so service may take a little longer.

Terrible service!! Food just so so. Extremely rude to their loyal customers. Go to thai house in Nyack instead. A million times better.

Below average. The Tom Kha Gai soup was uninspiring and when I asked for a Spicy Pad Thai i was handed a regular pad thai and a bowl of spices. Not great food, but the decor and service was good.

Excellent Thai food! The golden puffs, the tod mun pla and the beef sate are all excellent and well done! Tom Ka Gai is my favorite soup and they do it very well here. Not as good as my favorite local place, but a close 2nd. Will return often!

I just got back from dinner with my wife at Roy Thai. It was great! No need to travel to our favorite Thai in Chinatown ('Pongsri' in Manhattan). We shared 2 appetizers: Curry pastries ('Curry Puffs') and the Beef Satay and the best Crispy Whole Fish (ask them to de-bone) I had in a Thai restaurant. We are definitely going back soon

Have come here a couple times now and have really enjoyed everything from the Thai iced tea to the pad thai and everything in between! The service is excellent, it is usually pretty quiet which is a sad thing because I hope they survive, it's inexpensive, nicely decorated and very clean. Definitely a place to add to your Thai food rotation!

Awesome. We had tried Thai Garden just down the street many times and I like Roy Thai much better. Their shrimp Pad Thai is far superior, with larger and more flavorful shrimp. Also one of the best renditions of Kra Prow we've ever had, outstanding sauce. Their soups are okay but not the standout here. I do think both Thai Garden and Roy Thai are overpriced for dinner entree's for Thai food but i guess in line with this area. We've tried Roy Thai a bout 4 times for take out and every time the place is empty. Hope it does not close as the food is really great but it's kind of tucked away in a little bland plaza and probably not helped by the odd name "Roy Thai".

I recently visited this restaurant for a business lunch; there were at most 20 people seated (only a table of 4 which had food) , but it took the waitress over 10 minutes to take our drink orders then we waited over an hour for our entrees (total 1hr and 30 minutes for 3 entrees) which weren't especially great. The staff were very friendly but the food was mediocre and wait time was unacceptable.

This exquisite little gem of a restaurant was an absolute joy from the moment I sat down to the wonderful ambiance of a splendid Thai decor reminiscent of a beautiful Asian cultural hall. The food was excellently prepared and I was delighted by the delicate spices and flavors employed in their dishes. The food was served in a timely manner by their most able young waitress Mam, as in "yes mam". I highly recommend the 'Kai Yang Chicken' which I found to be a magnificent dish . The chicken has the feel, flavor, and goodness of a succulent tasty sirloin steak. This restaurant really delivered in all categories.

I was excited to hear about a new Thai restaurant opening up in the area as I love Thai food, especially Chicken Pad Thai. I went there in July for take-out. I got the Chicken Pad Thai and spicy chicken fried rice. The Chicken Pad Thai was very dry, had no sauce and it was bland. It was so dry the noodles were sticking to each other and I had to cut it up so it wouldn't be a big blob of noodles on my fork. After two bites of it, I had to throw it out. I always order Chicken Pad Thai at any Thai restaurant I go to. This was the worst Chicken Pad Thai I've ever had. I don't know how a Thai restaurant could mess up a popular dish like that. The fried rice wasn't that good either. It was really bland. On a positive note, their decor was really nice inside but they need to improve on the Chicken Pad Thai since that is a popular Thai dish ordered by most people. I've ordered from the Thai Garden which is closer to where I work and their food is much better but they don't deliver. I might give Roy Thai another try hoping that maybe the chef was just out of it at the time I ordered.

This was our first time at Roy Thai and we enjoyed the food and service very much. The tamarind duck and black pepper shrimp were delicious. Everything was very fresh and appetizing. My husband enjoyed the fried ice cream for dessert and I liked the banana dessert too. The place is very clean with a relaxed dining atmosphere. I highly recommend this place.

I moved here recently from Manhattan and really was missing the great Thai food there. Tried every Thai restaurant in the area, including Nyack. Almost didn't try Roi Thai because the strip shopping center isn't that inviting. I am sooooo happy I did try it. It totally rivals the best Thai restaurant in Manhattan - Pong Sri. It is clean, the energy is great, the food is perfect, the decor beautiful and serene. It's a lovely experience to eat there. Everything I have tried is wonderful. Go!

OK..... here is the news re visited Roy Thai in less than a week. The best Woodson entrée in Rockland. The ingredients are super fresh and a lot of vegetables. It is my favorite thai plate! The TumYum soup with shrimp is perfect. Fresh mushrooms and large shrimps. And yes! The chef/cook is a Thai gentlemen...This place is like being in Thailand it is authentic! The waitress super nice recognized me and remember what I order last time. I was touched! ! Will be back!!

A solid thee-star food experience, with some troubling caveats about the staff. So, consider going carry-out instead of dining in, unless you've got your big boy and/or girl pants on. The food: the panang curry with chicken and the pad thai are good. The dumplings aren't bad either. The service: it's OK. But, sometimes the staff is rude. Example of staff being rude: on my first visit, I was having lunch with a colleague. I wear glasses, have a shaved head, and wear button-down shirts. He wears glasses, has a shaved head, and wears button-down shirts. When the server came to "greet" us, she said, "are you guys related?" Then, she laughed. (We are not related.) I was like, OK, that's sorta weird ... I'll spare you the other commentary and speculation about her motivation for making the comment. But, since I'm here writing, and you're here reading, I will say that some charm school might be in order for the lovely staff of Roy Thai.

I tried the duck salad and was disappointed. The meat was tough and the rest of the salad was sparse with mostly celery.

  • Scott R.

When you have some pretty good Thai food up the street at Thai Garden (consistently good), why try a new place? Because you never know. Roy Thai has great service and the menu is extensive, providing items on the appetizer, salad, veg, and entree sections you don't see often at other Thai places in the states. Roy Thai will be a pleasant surprise and may get you out of your restaurant rut. Enjoy. (3.5 stars)

No customer loyalty! The customer service is the worst! For the past year I have been a customer of this restaurant. On my way home from work I have ordered the exact same meal ( garlic with vegetables and tofu) at least 30 times. After getting home and realizing that instead of getting tofu I got chicken in my meal I called to complain. During that conversation they said they would give me a free replacement meal next time I ordered from them. I thought this was a fair deal and felt like the issue was resolved. Fifteen minutes later I received an unexpected call to inform me that I had ordered the chicken ( which makes no sense). I still don't understand why they would call me back and argue about an issue that we had previously resolved. They obviously don't care about loyal customers. My advice is to stay away.

Roy Thai is located in a small strip mall and plenty of parking. The service was great but it wasn't the best Thai. We went for lunch and it was empty which probably should have been a sign. We got the curry puffs for an app, which were decent. For lunch I got the Spicy Thai Fried Rice with chicken and it came with a choice of salad or spring roll. If you like spicy, this is your dish! It was ok again not the best. Others I went with got the Pad Thai and in my opinion wasn't great since it lacked flavor. Prices were fine but I was expecting a lunch special to be more "special". Most lunch specials will include a salad/soup, spring roll, the entree and sometimes they will throw in a dessert. I was a little disappointed and will probably head back to Thai Garden down the street next time I'm craving some Thai food.

About Taco Bell

Taco Bell is a haven for Mexican delicacies such as tacos, quesadillas, burritos, nachos, and other specialty items. Owned by Yum! Brands, Inc. Taco Bell is one of the fastest growing American chains of fast food restaurants. The restaurant operates from 7,072 different locations which are mostly run by independent franchisees and licensees.

The background story of Taco Bell is interesting and inspiring for budding entrepreneurs. The fast-food brand is the brainchild of Glen Bell, who started his first food venture as a hot dog seller in San Bernardino, California. The year was 1948. After witnessing long queues outside a Mexican restaurant called Mitla Café across the street, Bell saw the opportunity and demand for hard-shelled Tacos. He reverse-engineered the recipe and later started selling Tacos and called the venture Taco-Tia.

Later, the name changed from Taco-Tia to El Taco. Eventually, Glen Bell sold the company to his partner and opened the first Taco Bell in Downey in 1962. By 1964, the restaurant also got its first franchise in Torrance. The 100th Taco Bell restaurant was opened by 1965. PepsiCo acquired Taco Bell from Glen Bell in 1978 and the restaurant brand is currently a subsidiary of Yum! Brands which looks after the restaurant business of PepsiCo.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
