Been to this place about a half dozen times for the Sunday buffet. Hands down the best one in the Rte 106 area (and I've tried all of 'em over the years). Always some terrific vegetarian options to choose from. The kitchen really cranks out the good stuff here. And when you're jonesing for dessert, the gulab is jammin'.

I had the buffet lunch. They had a reasonable (but not extensive) collection. The food was good as was the fresh, made-to-order naan. The goat masala was very good (and would have been perfect if they removed the bones).

I have eaten here for both the lunch buffet and I took out for dinner one night. My friend is an Indian Lady and Kiran she said is one of her favorites. Was very psyched when I heard this as I am still in search for a great Indian Restaurant. The day we went, there were the typical choices on the buffet - Tandoori Chicken (extremely moist, even the white meat), Goat Masala and Curry Chicken (very flavorful). Some other Veggie selections but I'm not into that so it was skipped. Good Naan and great Gulab Jamun. Haven't tried the Rasmalai yet but I will next time. Takeout - well, I liked it but my husband didn't (can't go by that - not a Yelper and too judgemental). Excellent Chicken Tikka Masala and Lamb Pasanda. Perfectly flavored as I don't like it too spicy. The Samosas were ok but GREAT Tamarind sauce. You can't have a good Samosa without that Tamarind sauce. I guess the downfall with takeout is that the portions may not be as big as if eaten in and you can't return things if made incorrectly (unless of course you live close enough which I don't). In our order, the Chicken and Lamb dishes did not have much of each and the Onion and Paneer Bread was missing the cheese (either I couldn't understand her or she couldn't understand me when the order was placed - damn that LI accent!!). The flavor and quality of the food well made up for it though. So, I might not takeout again but I think that Kiran Palace may have the potential of becoming a favorite so I will be definitely going back!!

We went for the Sunday lunch buffet and it was disappointing. The selection was minimal, and everything tasted...okay. The naan was a bit dry, and the samosas soggy. Overall, what things we had were mediocre, but there wasn't much to choose from in the first place. Not worth $9.

This place is really great. I usually venture here with my gal pal who is vegetarian and a fan of Indian food. We usually get vegetarian only stuff when we go which is fine by me as this place excels in their meatless options. The tandoori paneer app has a great flavor from the traditional oven and the portion is generous. For mains, we usually order the navaratan korma; a spiced vegetable dish in a creamy cashew sauce and the black or yellow dal. All mains come with tender and fluffy basmati rice. The breads are also excellent although I have not had them in a while as I don't really eat bread much anymore. This place is also BYOB. Great service and a perfect place for a romantic meal.

The strip mall location is nothing to look at, but you can't beat the lunch buffet. I love being able to try a few different dishes since I'm not particularly familiar with Indian food. We have also ordered off the menu. I actually liked the buffet better, but I think it had to do more with my choice of entree rather than quality. My toddler has eaten here and the staff is very friendly with him. It has never been overly crowded when we've gone so we never felt as if we were bothering anyone. He loves the mango lassi and they are happy to give him a little extra glass of his own so he doesn't drink all of mine.

For quite a while we passed by this non-descript store next to the King Kullen supermarket in Delco Palaza. We never thought about going there until another place where we picked up what we thought was good Indian food closed down. The night my wife and I were going thru tikka masala & tandori withdrawal I decided to look for other places to eat. I stumbled upon reviews for this place and decided...what have I got to loose. Absolutely no regrets. When we dine in we either order the paneer pakora or paneer tikka...mmm always the best. From there my wife just loves their chicken tikka masala and my son always goes for his not spicy mango chicken w/ mango lassi. As for me I've had their tandori mixed grill, vindaloo and most recently lamb pasanda. We've never been disappointed. It has never been crowded when we go and the wait staff is always very friendly and helpful. For those who have yet tried Indian cuisine I believe that Kiran Palace is the best place to start. I say spare the burn until you know you are ready then take a try at any of their vindaloo dishes. We've recommened to our friends and family and they haven't been disappointed.

In hindsight, Kiran Palace deserves more than 3 stars. Consistently better over the 10 years I've been coming here than lots of fancy/authentic Indian restaurants I've been to in more metropolitan areas.

A bit small and dingy looking but is honestly worth it. If you're looking for a fabulously decorated place to bring a large group, it is not the place for you. But if you're just looking for good quality indian food with a few people, I would definitely recomment it. Staff is super nice as well. Also It is part of a shopping center, so there is parking.

Good food, courteous staff. Dad always seems to want to crack jokes whenever we come here; thankfully, the waiters bear it better than I. I find it very easy to overstuff myself whenever I visit, especially during the lunch buffet.

This restaurant in great at being mediocre. My friend and I ordered the assorted vegetable appetizers which were all fried and sort of blended together. Onion naan had no flavor. Chicken Koram was a chopped up chicken breast with a goopy sauce poured over it. (The sauce had heat but no flavor) Saag paneer was tasty. Based on the other reviews I was looking forward to trying this place but I have nothing good to say the Kiran Palace. Skip it.

After reading other reviews, I think, either the food has gotten to be really bad or my taste buds have. i have been finding great places to eat in queens and long island but taking a chance on kiran palace was a disaster. really hungry - ordered lamb rogan josh and paneer tika masala with a bread basket. sucked. i would be better off ordering from Diwan or Bukhara Grill or Lahori Kabab. This one was not even average - it was way below that. Normally when I am hungry, i pretty much like everything but not this. For me this was definitely the last time. Hope you have a better experience.

Review is only based on the lunch buffet. I'd probably rate it higher if i hadn't had it so much; the magic has faded a little bit after like 4-5 times. Lunch buffet is awesome and so cheap. Not that much variety, but the dishes they have are tasty. I actually think the dessert is pretty alright as well. Definitely hits the spot when you get the ill craving for various curry sauces and naan. Chicken Tikka Masala is my favorite - could go for some right now even at 1:10am.

One of my longtime Indian-American friends recommended this place since my family has several go-tos for Indian food in the city, but none by our hometown on LI. It was a decent buffet for about $9/head and me and six of my family members enjoyed it, but we were hoping for more options. About six or seven dishes set out on serving hot plates (like Sterno style except in a fancy-looking holder) not an actual buffet table. The food holders are a bit bulky and it's awkward to manage holding your plate with utensils and food while lifting the lids and placing them on the hooks and then putting them back. We ordered a few items off the menu to supplement our meal and everything was good, but definitely not the best Indian food I've ever had. The buffet looked like the food had been out there for a while, even though we arrived shortly after 1pm. Admittedly, two dishes were replaced right after we finished the last of it, so maybe we just got the tail end of the first set of dishes that had been put out. It was a bit weird when we saw our waitress put on her jacket and purse to leave mid-shift and then came back 20 minutes later. We had no idea if she was coming back, so the young busboy had to tend to us, and we had to (gently) remind him several times to get our to go containers. Additionally, my dad asked for water with a lemon wedge two or three times, and when it finally came out it had a lime wedge. We reminded them that my dad had asked for lemon, not limes, and they said they don't have lemons. I'm not a fan of the fact that they didn't ask us first if lime would be an acceptable substitute (limes and lemons don't taste the same??), and I thought that it's weird they don't have lemons when they serve lemon chicken. Anyway, I'm open to trying it again since it's pretty cheap and my friend was adamant that they're very good. Perhaps it was just an off day since we did see it got busy when we left and it was clear they have regulars. The place is pretty simple and although it's small, they use their space pretty efficiently. Also, my toddler-aged nephews both enjoyed the food, which is a good sign.

This is for a pickup order. I called ahead and placed my order and they told me it would be ready in fifteen minutes. I asked for the total and it seemed to be a little over what is listed online and on grubhub. The order should have come out to around $17 for one chicken sahi korma at $9.95, one vegetable samosa $4.95 and one plain naan at $2. Even with tax that still doesn't come out to the $22.70 I was charged but I was pressed for time on my lunch break and when I questioned the amount the server seemed to get angry. It wasn't a big enough difference for me to warrant arguing over so I simply took my food and hit the road. The naan was great, not the best I've ever had but it was a good thickness and texture. The samosa was too seedy. They did not bother to grind up the fennel, cumin, and corriander seeds and just threw them in whole. I did not like the way that tasted. They were also a bit awkward to eat because there were only 2 of them but they were large and shaped like massive fortune cookies. The chicken korma was nice and creamy and the pieces of chicken were tender. The dish definitely lacked spice. It came with plain basamati rice which was in a separate container. The chutney was very tasty but not enough to return solely for. I've had an itch for Indian all week but I don't feel like it's been properly scratched based on this experience. I'll be looking for a better alternative.

For a small restaurant tucked away in a strip mall, any place with the name "palace" clearly harbors visions of grandeur. Kiran Palace was my most recent foray into the spectacle that is all you can eat Indian buffet. How does this palace compare to my other recent discoveries? It's by far budget friendly, at $8.95 a head. The lineup of available dishes is in the 8-10 item range and a basket of naan is brought to your table. (Our basket took longer than others to arrive as we had already made it through one round of eating.) Now fresh naan in a basket has its benefits but so does grabbing as much as you want at the buffet, especially when the naan is refreshed. (Conversely, naan that has been sitting at the buffet table for awhile should be best avoided) Service is where Kiran Palace can use some slight improvement. Other tables were given carafes of water without asking for it. I had to ask for mine. Plate removal time, a key metric of the AYCE buffet game, was slow. Staff seemed to be having disagreements and arguments that also clouded the atmosphere. While engaging in self service, the way the food was presented also required an extra step, mainly of placing the lid on a hook, scooping and then reattaching the lid. Again, hardly a huge problem but a few extra seconds interfering with my gluttony. As for the buffet items, I'd say Kiran checks all the boxes of popular Indian cuisine but will not surprise with lesser known dishes. Tandoori chicken, lamb rogan josh, daal, saag, rice and another veggie dish were all quite tasty if leaving a salty residual after taste. The buffet was not a revelation as if the hand of God were to appear, wielding a serving spoon that emits the divine curry. Instead it was a pleasant enough refilling of the belly at a reasonable price with ample parking. Considering the plethora of Indian restaurants in Hicksville, I'm likely to venture out to others first before returning to Kiran Palace.

I've been going for the lunch buffet. Good selection and always changing vegetarian selections. Soft and tender goat curry (winner)..and one of the best home made Kheer I've had in a long time. ALL for $7.95 (double win) Highly Recommend.

Popular Northern Indian Restaurant tucked back in a shopping plaza on the corner of Hicksville Rd. and Old Country Rd. Lunch offers a variety of everything... When I was there among two other tables who actually were of Indian descent pulled up a car of four young guys early 20s. They raced in and seemed to know the proprietor, and obviously it was their favorite place. We liked it as they had a lot of items. Their paneer was peas in a smooth curry sauce. Not coconut, that is Southern Indian. But awesome.

Nice place. I was seated right away, but I think that was just luck. The place fills up quickly. To start I had naan and onion kulcha. Holy crap! It was delicious. Crispy on the edges and soft in the middle. Perfect. Then I had the chicken tikka masala. I'm new to the whole Indian experience so I kept it mild on the heat. Wow! The chicken was tender and juicy, and the creamy red sauce was so flavorful with a slight hint of sweetness. Another big plus was the service. The food came out so quickly and by the time I was ready to leave, my server seemed genuinely concerned that I liked my food. Like would be a severe understatement. Loved it! Highly recommended

CAUTION: This place clearly has inflated rating from all those 4 & 5 stars given by folks who barely have a clue about tasty India food (sorry white people). I rarely give 1 star for business that serves food. That should tell you something about this place. Let me be clear - I don't expect exceptional service when I pay less than $15 for an entree. But that doesn't mean you can dish out terrible service and get away with it. Here's my main gripe with this place: - horrible service - the ENTIRE place is empty (Monday evening) and the waiter is pissed off that he has to now serve the one customer he has - the waiter swipes my card, and instead of handing it over to me takes a good look at the front and back of the card. Totally unnecessary and unprofessional - the food SUCKS balls. I could have made better biryani than the one they charged me $15 for and the last time I cooked was in 2003 Save your money and visit some of the better Indian places around. There's House of Dosas, Diwan, New Chili & Curry to name a few

I often feel bad for places with 4.5-5 star reviews bc the expectations are set pretty high, but I'm happy to say that kiran palace deserves its high marks. The place itself is pretty tiny, but the tables are spaced well, so you're not right on top of others. Def not a place for groups over 4 though. The service was excellent and didn't rush to get us out of there even when we stayed past 3pm (when they technically close). An order of naan, tandoori chicken, aloo gobi masal (both $11) was simple and delicious. Nothing too fancy, just food prepared well. Each dish is served in metal bowls that are deceivingly small, but don't stress, they have enough in them to fill you up. While it's not quite up to New Chili & Curry (Hicksville) levels yet, kiran palace is a solid place and will be home to many more visits from yours truly when I need my Indian fix.

I have been going to this place for over two years and it continues to be one of my favorite places for Indian food. I am not a huge fan of the brunch, I do find it a little limited and they are sticklers for closing exactly at four. So if you get there after three, prepare to eat fast. They do not necessarily kick you out, but they start moving all the chairs and setting up for dinner. The dinner food is the absolute best. I have tried many things on the menu, lamb Rogan Josh and chicken jalfrezi are my favorites. They give you some papadoms for a free appetizer while you make your choices, and I love the mint chutney. The yellow lentil soup is the best comfort food after a long day. The service is always attentive and welcoming. They always provide excellent suggestions and even remember you. I always get a Chai tea and last time I forgot to order one, but the young gentleman asked me to be sure I didn't want one this time. That's excellent service! The food is plenty and I enjoy every bite. This is the place for yummy Indian food!

My wife and I have been looking for a new Indian place in the area since our old favorite just wasn't cutting it anymore. TKiran Palace got good reviews on Yelp, so we thought we'd give it a shot. We're happy we did. In addition to great food... we're very big on service. Kiran Palace scored on both! Our server was attentive, and the owners checked in as we ate to see if we were enjoying our meals. I appreciated that touch. We loved the vegetable samosas. The crust was light and flaky, and the stuffing was spicy ad flavorful. Our vegetable pakoras were ok -- but I'd skip them next time and try something else. My wife had the paneer makhani and I ordered lamb rogan josh. Both came with basmati rice and were delicious! Our bread basket had 3 different selections... one tastier than the next. The location is in a typical Long Island strip mall, and the interior could use a freshening up -- but was comfy and clean. We'll be back next time we have a hankerin' for indian!

There is a lot of local competition in the area, but Kiran Palace is the best I've found. I could eat their garlic naan and chicken tikka masala every day and I'd still look forward to it every time. The location is a bit small and they have some menu pricing issues that are a bit frustrating, but overall a great place.

This restaurant is an amazing Indian buffet with so much to choose from. Some of the dishes include tika masala chicken, tandoori chicken, curry chicken, basmati rice, dal, saag aloo potatoes (my favorite) and gulab jamun. This authentic Indian buffet is always kept clean and the service is great. The fresh nann bread is absolutely amazing! A+ for their cuisine.

That feeling when your dining companion's entree blows yours out of the water and you can't help but keep begging for bites... luckily my dining companion was my mom! So this very thing happened to me at Kiran Palace and I NEVER would have expected it because first, I am very certain (95% of the time) that I want what I've ordered and what's more, I'm always certain I've made the right choice (and often I'm the one who's inspiring the eat envy). Second, c'mon, who would think that a humble-sounding chick pea masala would blow saag paneer out of the water?!?! Like, that doesn't even make sense. ALL that's in that dish is chick peas and spices, mildly spiced no less (my mom hates spicy food). It is mouthwatering!!!! So, as you may have guessed, sadly the saag paneer (ordered extra spicy) disappointed me. I only ate about a third of it (while chowing down on mom's chick peas). It was not even half as spicy as I'd normally want it (I ordered it extra spicy, I swear) and I would go so far as to say it is downright bland. The kind waiter offered to box it up, but I knew I'd never eat it. Even my father was meh about it and he typically finishes my leftovers. They also served the Mulligatawny soup extra spicy after the owner who was taking our order asked. Nice! However while it was not lacking in heat, that's about all it had going for it and I do not recommend. The rice served is basmati, but don't expect a tasty pilaf with peas and those yummy crunchy toasted onions. No daal or red onions served as complimentary condiments, just that sweet brown sauce I'm not really a fan of. Vegetable samosas are good as is the pappadum. All of this combined means AOK but nothing special. There's a heck of a lot of Indian restaurants in Hicksville. I'm not sure I'd be inclined to return to Kiran, although the service was good and there were a few items I did enjoy.

Not fancy, but a really solid Indian restaurant on Long Island. The servers are friendly but not pushy. Spicy here means spicy. Portions are very generous. (I don't go to the all you can eat lunch so I can't speak for that, but I bet it's good). The prices are extremely reasonable. Remember, don't expect very fancy or palatial (despite the name), just flavorful and a good value. This is the place I always hit when I am in the area.

I am a big fan of Indian, not just the food but the decor and the ambiance. When my boyfriend drove me up to this place in a big shopping center lot, I was skeptical. First of all, they have a vegeterian section called "Vegeterian Haven" which is obviously awesome. We ordered the Vegetable Korma and the Paneer Tikka Masala. I am not a huge fan of Paneer but theirs was just right and to add Tikka Masala to it.... MMMM. These dishes were loaded with sauce which is definitely my preference because to me, that is the best part. I made my boyfriend take a menu on the way out.... being new residence to Hicksville, I hope we order from there on a regular basis.

As you can tell, I hardly ever give 1-star reviews. I'd have to have a pretty bad experience to warrant this kind of rating. I had such high hopes for this place since Yelpers have said good things about here... I was venturing around Long Island with my mother doing errands and looking for a decent place to eat. We were craving Indian cuisine and came upon Kiran Palace. It was a tad bit late 3:15-3:20 when we arrived. We noticed that the lunch buffet was only open until 4pm. We stepped inside and I asked the owner if they would keep the buffet open a bit past 4 so that we wouldn't have to rush. He said that would be fine. We were the only ones in there (besides the workers.) The buffet was still hot and ready to be eaten. It seemed fine until we sat down with our food... As soon as we sat down they started changing the entire restaurant from lunch to dinner. There were clanking of plates and utensils like crazy. The staff was EXTREMELY loud and I feel like I couldn't have a normal conversation with my mother. One man decided to yell on his cell phone too. I was like "For real?" They were also ignoring us and it was very distracting. When it came to about 3:50pm they told us that at 4pm we needed to leave because the place was closing... Are you kidding? I mean did you not say that you would keep the buffet open? I specifically asked that when I came in just to make sure. They did not keep to their word. To top this experience off they (not even joking) turned off the lights. Yes. I couldn't believe it. Food wise the only item that I truly enjoyed was the Chicken Tikka Masala. But I would not come back here just for that. There are plenty of other amazing Indian restaurants in Hicksville with way better service. Overall, we were having such a hectic day and just wanted to sit down for a peaceful meal. The whole time we felt like we were rushed and ignored. I really wish they would have told us in the beginning that they were in fact going to shut the place down exactly at 4, and I would have gone someplace else. Oh well, you live you learn.

  • Robyn W.

The food here was nice but if you prefer spicy like myself it's just not spicy enough. I would recommend the vegetable and Keema samosas. If you're going to order the lamb vindaloo just keep in mind that some pieces of the meat are cooked with the bone in. The Biryani is delicious but I found the raita fell flat. The atmosphere is tranquil and quiet and the ambiance is enjoyable. However, I found the service to leave a lot to be desired. Our waitress was pleasant and took our order with no issue but the person who delivered our food had a chip on his shoulder and proceeded to give us an attitude. Unfortunately he left a bad impression on a nice restaurant. This wrinkle in my experience aside, I'd not turn down this restaurant if it was suggested for dinner.

This not so big Indian restaurant (one of the best Indian restaurants that I know). The restaurant interior is nothing special and the owner could think of some refreshment/ renovation, but the food is quite delicious and spicy (I have read somewhere they have a good Indian cook), the portions although not looking big are enough to make you feel full. We really enjoyed the hot starters Anda Pakora (Slices of hard boiled eggs with spicy chick-peas flour crust mix with herbs served with navabi chutney) and mixed vegetable Pakora as well as the rice, the Indian bread and the Tandoori chicken. The prices are above average in general for the food and a little bit too high for the drinks which you consume big time having all these spicy dishes . The staff is friendly and you are quickly escorted to the vacant/reserved table, but you have to wait for some time before being served. You could park your car on the street in front of the restaurant (there is no specific parking for the restaurant). I would recommend this Indian restaurant as an interesting and delicious culinary experience for the citizens and guests of hick!

I was in the area looking for an (specifically) Indian tailor and knew I couldn't pass up on an Indian lunch buffet. I turned to my trusty Yelp and found this gem of a place. Upon arrival around 2p, the place was almost packed and had a steady stream of customers all throughout our 1 hour stay. The lunch buffet had a variety of options to choose from, all of which were pretty awesome. The dessert: YUM! $8.95 for a weekend lunch buffet, so cheap! The service was friendly and quick. I've been back since and will continue to go there whenever I'm in the area or feel like driving 45 min for some Indian food.

New favorite Indian restaurant. Everything I have ever had from here is so flavorful, and for what it's worth (not really that much), tastes so authentic. This is one of the few Indian restaurants in the area where they will actually make your food spicy when you ask them to. A little dated inside, but their prkces cannot be beat. Highly recommend their vindaloo dishes (including the lobster!).

Best things on the menu: - chicken tikka masala - kebabs - malai kofta. Decent bar. The only problem is they serve Halal meat. Which sucks if your a Sikh or anyone that does not want religiously sacrificed food.

Excellent Indian Cuisine! In my opinion, this is one of the best Indian restaurants in the Hicksville area. A great menu selection and each entree has a unique flavor, unlike many other Indian restaurants that use the same gravy / curry for their various entrees. This family owned and run restaurant is definitely one of my favorites :)

Great! I had their chicken tikka masala and loved it. They could stand to put more spiciness into their "spicy" food though. I also found their garlic naan to be a little less fluffy than I prefer. Their pampadams were good, but they didn't have the spicy onion accompaniment that I love so much at other indian restaurants. I look forward to returning the next time I'm in town :)

Love this place! Set back in the shopping center, it is easy to find parking (one of the troubles I'm finding with other restaurants in this busy area). The food is amazing! I recommend any tikka masala dish, tandoori chicken, and the paneer pasanda. Also, the deserts are great! Try the one made out of carrot! The staff is friendly and very attentive. Enjoy!

This is a standard Indian buffet place. Came here for lunch. The food is the usual chicken tandoori, tikka masala, goat, and vegetable dishes. But there was no biryani, only plain rice. The dal here is very good and so are the desserts. The service is attentive and above average.

Either this place has turned into a mess, or I was completely clueless about Indian food when I went. They were renovating, so the interior was disheveled, cramped and messy. My cute, friendly aforementioned shy-guy waiter? Gone. To make this short and not-so-sweet: Our curry (makhani base) tasted like pizza. Our naan tasted like day old pita. Our shrimp was overcooked. Everything was off. There was absolutely no attention to detail, they just threw the food at us. Ick, no thanks. Unless I'm scourging around for food like a rabid homeless woman looking for a fix, I don't think I'd return.

I came for the lunch buffet today only because nearby Copper Wok was closed to repair an exhaust fan. Thank goodness for that! Kiran Palace has changed its look---and its food---for the better. The buffet setup and decor now resemble Kiran in Levittown: you hang the lids of the metal pots on little hooks above when you load your plate. The food here is also much more like the other Kiran, which means the goat curry is different but still well prepared with HUGE chunks of bone-in goat and very little tough bits. Kadai chicken was amazing in its onions and peppers. Of the vegetarian items, kadhi were excellent in a creamy-not-heavy sauce. Also impressive were the TWO dessert offerings: fruit custard and gajar ka halwa. Normally, I prefer a drier halwa, but what this one lacked in my favorite textures it compensated for in real cardamom, cashew, raisin, ghee and carrot FLAVOR. I only wished the rest of the vegetarian items were as memorable as those kadhi. They were decent but lacking spice. Tandoori was also fairly dry. As for service, I had recognized with chagrin that my waiter was the irritating one from Copper Wok who had several times "interviewed" me relentlessly in an attempt to flirt, while my only interest had been the food. Thankfully, his only contact with me was professional this time and he let me eat in peace. So he either finally got the idea, Kiran's manager taught him better, or some other lady fed him a knuckle dosa. At less than $9, this buffet is the cheapest I have found in Hicksville, yet its value has improved since my last visit. I will return much sooner.

We went there during their lunch buffet hours and had the buffet. It was a good way to sample the variety and you can order which ever you like next time. To me, Kiran Palace was pretty authentic with its dishes. Every dish is very fragrant and distinct from another. Like all Indian dishes, their food used many different spices and herbs. Great food! Would have to come back again.

went couple of times for lunch buffet. It was pretty good.lots of variety....the decor needs a bit of work. also the bar is always crowded with waiters. They may would like to improve the bar area. We also had Goat masala once and it was fabulous. I think if you want indian food, its one among the few good places in hicksville. I will recommend it.

Went to this place with a friend that lives around the area. He comes here often and said I must try it if I'm ever in the mood for Indian food. We had an order of the vegetable samosas to share. There is two in an order. They came out piping hot and filled with peas and potatoes and had a great curry flavor. It was a little bit too salty for me because I think they might have sprinkled some more salt on top before they brought the dish over. I ordered the lamb bhuna, which is lamb cubes stewed in a tomato sauce, and my friend had the lamb vindaloo. They always make sure the spiciness is too your liking. I can't take heat at all, so I ask them to make it mild. We also had the garlic naan. They do not skim on the lamb at all. Again, I thought it was a bit salty, but the rice helps a lot. The naan was soft and garlicky, goes great with the lamb bhuna. I didn't try my friend's lamb vindaloo because he ordered it very spicy. I'll take his word for it that it was very good. If I'm ever in the area again and craving Indian food, I'll definitely go back to Kiran Palace!

Ok, so I'm about really disappointed with this place...service was ok, food however, was horrible. So the evening started with Pani Puri at Rasraj which is my favorite Indian chaat appetizer when I'm deciding to brown it up for the evening (yes, I'm brown but don't eat out very often at all, for Indian food mainly to avoid experiences like this...other cuisines however, I'm always out :))... Me and the dinner date went here as she's been rating this place quite well for quite some time and has nothing but good things to say...the first thing you're thinking is, "well, she must not know much about Indian food if you're about to write a horrible review of this place...", well it's actually quite opposite the case. She knows her Indian food and more importantly, all foods, very well. She has my favorite palate of any human I know...exactly like mine to a T. We ordered the following: - paneer makhani - tandoori shrimp - 1 garlic naan - 1 onion kulcha Ok here goes... Paneer makhani was lacking paneer, was a very small amount of paneer to curry ratio, but this I was ok with, what I was NOT ok with was the ultra heavy amounts of oregano and dill used in the makhani sauce that's NOT traditional which caused me to think "PIZZA" upon trying it on the first bite. Terrible. *********NOTE: when you dine at most indian restaurants and order the standard makhanis, tikka masalas, palak paneer, kofta etc, these curries are made in HUGE VATS and all they do is add the chicken or paneer or whatever it is you ask for*************** ^I hate when restaurants do this folks...make the g*d damn dish fresh to order ffs. Tandoori Shrimp - overcooked by 3.5 mins, like most restaurants, overcook shrimp, tough to cut, tough to eat, rubber, horrible. The tandoori paste that was used was def from a jar, not fresh and gave it a very smoky bland flavor which is not traditional for tandoors/tandoori items. Garlic Naan and Onion Kulcha - neither were made in a clay oven, had the flatness of pita bread, I'M NOT KIDDING HERE FOLKS, and was over charred, burnt and gross. There were 1-2 pieces that weren't so burnt that we were able to eat, but it was quite "dough-y" and not the consistency that Naan and Kulcha should be... The only thing that I considered satisfactory was the side plate of onions I had asked for with chilis (Standard indian way of eating...to eat raw onions and chili while eating your entrees), and the plain basmati rice which you really can't screw up. never again folks...I'll end this review like I do many others... save your money and go somewhere else.

I feel bad giving this place such a bad review bc I used to love the buffet here and I told many people about it. The last 3 times I went to the buffet here over the last year I was disappointed. No other way to say it than the food is not good here. For one, the chicken tandoori had such little meat on it and was tasteless. Unfortunately Kiran Palace, I will be filling my Indian food cravings elsewhere.

In Hicksville, you have a ton of Indian places to choose from. Kiran Palace stands out as one of the better options in the area. Great food, great service, and reasonably priced. Be warned, if you're into spicy and get something spicy it might be a lot hotter than you expect.

Kiran Palace, what can I say? One of my trusty spots for a solid meal. When I ask for spicy, they make it spicy. When my water is empty, they fill it. Baskets full of fresh, hot baked naan? You bet. I've never had a bad experience at Kiran Palace. The food has always been good and the lunch buffet is pretty great for $8 (Mon-Thurs) and $9 (Fri-Sun). Not the most extensive selection, but the overall quality is great. Kiran (pronounced kee-run) is definitely one of my favorite places in Hicksville whether it be for the affordable lunch buffet or for a nice dinner. Staff is always spot on and I'm always leaving happy.

Chicken tikka masala and saag paneer were tasty. Would recommend as a good local Indian spot. Be careful if you ask for spicy, though. It will be verrrry spicy. Was good for me but not everyone at the table.

FRIED TOFU!!!!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!!!! And you call yourself an Indian restaurant. Anyways,I went to kiran palace today for their Buffet and the place was clean. The waiter did not show me to my table he just pointed at it. The covers on the food were not connected to the bowls. So you have to take the cover off and hang it on a hook, which got to be really annoying since some of the covers were hot. People dropping the covers on the floor looked normal to the waiter it's obvious this happens all the time. There was no variety in the meat department, plus the food was bland and lukewarm. The gulab jamun ( desert) is the reason I added a star and parking. The waiter started cleaning the table right next to mine with a spray that entered my lungs, nose, and probably my food. He also brought my check while i was still eating, the place was empty and not even close to closing so idk why he would do that. Well onto the next Indian buffet.

Good solid Indian food. Not a destination place, but if you find yourself in LI, or even visiting IKEA, its definitely worth the stop. The food is of good quality, the garlic naan was perfect, not the greatest ambience but solid food.

This was the first time we tried Kiran Palace and I have to say I have a new Indian Place. The initial deciding factor honestly was that they delivered. Our usual place doesnt and I was lazy. Well I am glad I was, as their food is Delish. We had Butter Chicken, Chicken Tikka Masala and Goat Biryani, samosa and garlic naan. All the dishes without exception were very well prepared and tasted wonderful. Note to self: next time order mild, the medium was a little too spicy. Other than that no complaints. The delivery was fast, efficient and friendly. I highly recommend this place.

We went here for the first time last night. The food was delicious! So much better than other restaurants nearby and we've tried many. We went mild since the kids were with us but we still enjoyed every bite. Prices were comparable but the flavors were so much better. This is our new favorite in Hicksville! :)

Indian food is tough to make. Add to that making it for the masses and having it sit around for a while, I get that. So when I entered the lunch buffet today, I was still willing to give it 2-3 stars despite its watery curry, slightly underdone naan, and soggy pakora. Indian food is an itch I need scratched. But one thing is unforgivable - lack of cleanliness! If you can't keep a place clean, do not own a restaurant! Well after taking a small sample plate, my bf and I very hungrily took second plates full of food. And, upon putting it down - a GIANT COCKROACH, and I mean GIANT (1+") COCKROACH with inch-long antennae, takes center table. I threw our naan basket over it and jumped up and yelled, the manager comes over and feigns stomping it out and says he'll bring us new bread! He wasn't rude, and thankfully did not attempt to make us pay for, but he did say that they've never seen one in the restaurant before, and I find that impossible to believe. Roaches don't come in ones, and they don't grow to that size without starting families of biblical proportions, so hopefully they don't stay in denial and clean themselves up! Never again!!

Located in the King Kullen mini mall, behind Pep Boys. It is either on OCR or 107, to me it's not clear. I hope you will have an easier time finding it than I did. One great dish which we were told is offered NOWHERE in NYC is Dahi Wala Bharta - which is eggplant in a yellowish yogurt sauce with spices in it. It's got some heat to it, but the consistency of the eggplant cools you by the time it goes down. Wow, what depth! what a vegetable concoction! Nan was everything I wanted. Curry chicken had a great sauce on it. Tandoori chicken was moist and went down well. Desserts for the buffet were a cold rice pudding and a hot gulab jamun - both were a pleasant topper to my stomach full of chicken, goat, eggplant, rice and spices. A weekday lunch, and they had a good amount of locals, which shows it was legit. Minutes before, I was around the corner at a better location vegetarian Indian buffet and I could hear a pin drop - there was one man there, he handed me the menu.

I love this place. It's tiny, but the food is wonderful and the staff are very friendly. I've become a regular. Once, when my boyfriend and I were there for the very inexpensive and wonderful lunch buffet, my boyfriend mentioned that my favorite dessert (gajar halwa), which was not on the buffet that day. A few minutes later, one of the waiters brought a dish to me, on the house. The Kiran Palace staff is always friendly and stay on top of things.

Buffet food is good. When I crave for curry, this is the place where my family goes to. I like the chicken marsala and the rice pudding. I LIKE their hot naan bread.

Went on a Tuesday nite with a Entertainment coupon ! First time eating Indian food and it was fantastic! Staff are great and very friendly. We look forward to going back very soon! Give this place a definite try

Best things on the menu: - chicken tikka masala - kebabs - malai kofta. Decent bar. The only problem is they serve Halal meat. Which sucks if your a Sikh or anyone that does not want religiously sacrificed food.

This is a hiding Gem!!! The food was very good, we went for lunch and they had a buffet set up for $ 7.95, nice little quiet place. The worker were very friendly!!

  • Scott L.

Yelpers were right on with this pick. The food was tasty and well prepared, service was excellent, quality of the meats and fish were excellent. We found this place cold by using yelp and we are very happy we did. Go here and enjoy!
