I frequent this location and will continue to do so. The shop is clean and the staff is friendly. I like the way they make my sandwiches and have never had an issue with them. The shop is a little outdated compared to the other P.O.S. here in town. But for me I have become a faithful regular.

Wow, change of ownership apparently! Service is now terrible, just like the one on kietzke. Very rude when I wanted extra avocado and didn't want the nasty stuff that was black from sitting all day. Brownies no longer have the date on them and mine was very stale! Shame on these franchisees! I love port of subs and eat there very regularly and have become accustomed to better service and quality!

I'm a long-time fan of the Port of Subs franchise; it's been one of my family's favorite places to get a sandwich since 1976. Although there are plenty of good places to get a sandwich, there's something specific yet hard to pin down about a good ol' Port of Subs #1 that keeps it on my list of best sandwiches in Reno. This location, however, is not being operated to the standard I normally expect from this chain. Specifically, the amount of meat, cheese, and toppings placed on the sandwiches is quite noticeably less than what you receive at any other location I've been to in the Reno-Sparks area. Honestly, it's as if they're counting every scrap of lettuce and individually placing each olive slice! When a substitution is requested (say, asking for roast beef instead of pepperoni on a #1 sandwich), the proprietor quizzes you *several times* as to why you don't want pepperoni, before finally putting a couple scraps of roast beef on the sandwich. The sandwiches and the service are thin at this location, which is too bad because it's the closest to the neighborhood we moved to last year. It's almost bad enough to make me drive across town to the Keystone & 4th location (our favorite). However, the Smithridge & McCarran shop does an ok job, so I guess we'll go there from now on. I gave this Mira Loma & McCarran location several tries to get it right; I won't be going back.

Out of all the Port of Subs in town, this one and the one by Prater is the cleanest and nicest. Plus, their prices on their 2ft subs are cheaper than all the others in town. I've had the other sandwiches at other locations, and they skimp on the meat and cheese and the bread tastes stale. This place rocks for a Port of Subs and tastes pretty good. It's worth traveling the extra few minutes to check this one out for sure.
