Driving from North Carolina to Phoenix. Just wanted a Blizzard. We had stayed the night in Santa Rosa on our way to Kentucky and knew this place was here. On our way home as I said above. I wanted a Blizzard. What a great place to stop and get something to eat. This place was spotless. Everyone was exceptionally nice and polite. I have no reservation in recommending this place. We only got Blizzards but I know everything would of been good. You will not be disappointed.

The "Half-Breed" was great. The steak was cooked just right and the service was excellent. Johnny (the owner ) is friendly and really enjoys visiting with his customers. Chips and Salsa were great. Great family environment.
Save your palette and go to Joseph's. Smallest Chimi in the WORLD!! Their menu says their Chimi is wrapped using a giant tortilla, but our chimi's were about the size of a normal enchilada. Never have I seen this small of a Chimi. They charge for the 2nd bowl of chips in their 4" bowl, and the homemade salsa recipe needs to be rethought as it was bland and not spicy at all. Side of beans is whole pinto, so don't expect refried. Rice - can't really tell you about that because there wasn't enough to support an opinion. The ONLY thing about their version of Mexican food was the heat - it was spicy. However, while I really like my spices, I prefer FLAVOR over that. This was one of the blandest dishes I have had in a long time. But it was hot.
My sister and I were road tripping from Houston to Denver. It was noon. We were starving. I pulled over, pulled up Yelp and almost wept at the lack of stars most places had. After reading some of the reviews, we settled on Comet II -- and I'm glad we did. FOOD Get their Mexican dishes. They offer other typical American dishes, but if you ask the waitresses what's good it's their homemade chile sauces. I would recommend the carnitas burrito special smothered in the red chile and cheese. It's all homemade. My sister (who had a dairy allergy) loved the chicken enchiladas. I also couldn't get enough of the fresh chips and salsa. SERVICE We came in at noon on a Saturday and had no problems at all. There was a large group and a few other tables. The owner of the restaurant actually came out to chat with a man and his senior father. They were going between English, Spanish and what I'm guessing was an Indian dialect. It was really cool to hear them swap stories -- what I could understand. This is also a flag for why you should try their Mexican dishes. COST Our tab was under $20 for two entrees and two drinks. My giant burrito was only $8 and my sister's enchiladas were about the same. No complaints. ATMOSPHERE You're in Santa Rosa. Adjust your expectations. They keep a clean establishment -- bathrooms included. It's not fancy, but it's a cute, retro restaurant. Would return.

Good green chile stew, good coffee, & good prices.
Good food. GREAT SERVICE. For a sleepy little interstate town out in the middle of nowhere this is a welcome relief from the road. Great place to tank up before checking into a hotel or hitting the road. They are exactly half way between Phoenix AZ and Dallas Texas.
We recently visited the Silver Moon for dinner while we were in Santa Rosa. My hubby was exhausted after a very long drive, so I walked over to get us some take away for dinner back in our hotel room. So I did have an experience, just not in the dining room. Here's what I experienced: 1. I found the staff very nice and friendly. I hung out with the gentleman running the cashier's spot. He helped me decided on our dinner entrees and we just chatted a lot while I waited for my food to be ready to go. Always a plus! 2. The food was reasonably priced and tasted ok. The food wasn't bad, but it wasn't super amazing either. It did taste good after a long drive. We had the Enchiladas de Santa Fe and the Chicken Tacos. Both hit the spot, but I would say they both needed a little more umph or spiciness or something align those lines. We ate everything except the posole, which really wasn't good at all. Neither of us cared for their version of it. 3. The chips and salsa were awesome! I'm not sure why or what they did differently, but these were darn good chips and salsa! If you are in the area, I would recommend the Silver Moon for a nice bite to eat!

The food was ok but the service is seriously lacking. Once the waitress brought our food she never returned to check on us or bring our ticket. We finally flagged down another waitress to get a drink refill and were given a look and told to "hold on". It was obvious we were bothering her. Never to return
Great food, good choices for vegetarians and people with various food allergies. Salsa was amazing, a bit spicy but we loved it. We got the chicken burrito and chicken chalupa and enjoyed it.
Busy with locals. No it isn't fancy it is an old building, we had fajitas and shrimp, large portions, price is high but we left very full, our attendant tired to take care of us along with cooking and cleaning, it is cool, every family owned and is part of Route 66 history. They have changed the name from original but all still in same family. They claim Mexican and american but they don't carry a variety. Salsa is home made. Very large portions!!

I can't give this McDonald's high ratings. The sandwich was okay. The staff was kind of pissy. And the wait considering the lack of customers was unacceptable.
I-40 through Santa Rosa does not offer much for the traveler to quickly stop and grab a bite and get back on the road, so the double arches serves a a beacon to stop and use the restroom and grab a bite. So we stopped... We had in the past stopped in to grab a quick bite and use the bathroom before making the jump east to the next town of any size and while the food has always been lackluster it's been doable. Not this time. We went in on a Monday 7/20/15 around noonish. There was the normal crowd doing the same as us, a break and a bite. The bathrooms were clean and ok. There were an above average number of flies present. We decided to get our food to go and relax in the car. The cashier handed Tiff her cup and then had to grab another sleeve of cups to get mine. Before he got back to the counter with my cup he stopped and began talking to another customer in the lobby that appeared to be a buddy of his. The manager got on to him and told him to get my cup to me and get back on the front desk, he told her he would when he was ready and it took a couple of more min to get my drink cup. Then we learned that the tea urns were behind the counter and not in the lobby with the soda machine. So we had to ask and wait for the cups to be filled with tea and returned. After a bit our food was delivered and we took the bag and got back in the car and headed back on I-40. You always eat the fries first, so they don't get cold. Well that didn't matter because the fries were cold to start with and had a odd taste to them. The burgers were odd as well and the meat had a wang to it and the veggies seemed a bit old. Sadly we are scratching this McDonald's off the list, maybe Tucumcari can make the grade.
Went to the drive up thought I would be in and out not! then I finally honk my horn for service the guy hands me a wet bottom bag and tells me in broken English that there is water in the counter, well my last trip to McDs in Santa Rosa
