Decent food, but over priced. The steak was a poor cut of meat, and not as good as steaks that cost half as much in other restaurants around town. Service was a bit slow as well, but friendly. This restaurant is not kid friendly, at all - they have no kid's menu, and suggested an appetizer for my daughter as a meal option. Our server was kind enough to make her some chocolate milk though. They do have a very good selection of beer and wine, as well as some local brews on tap and in bottles.

They definitely put some money into this place as the interior is full of dark woods and brass throughout. I personally like this place because I don't have an Irish option where I'm from. I enjoyed the Shepard's Pie and Irish beer. They also had live music that was not overbearing. The place is sectioned off enough where you can be right next to the stage or far away in case you do not enjoy live music. I have now been back for a second time as I visited Ruidoso.

We've been here before. I read yelp this time just to look at the reviews AND THEY ARE 100% CORRECT. Food was good and the service is horrible! I will try somewhere else in Ruidoso the next time. Our orders were submitted work (side orders) and all they would do is discount the mistake 10%. They got three orders wrong on a table of 7 people and our discount on a $200 bill (with tip) was a little over THREE DOLLARS. Atmosphere is great I ordered my steak medium and it came out well done. I blame the failures of this business on management.

Sad use of a Trust Fund. Smells too new...lacks the aroma of spilt stout and soiled customers. Corned beef and cabbage attempt, a crime against nature....frozen hash brown nuggets?!? Pub burger uncompetitive in town. Staff skittish. Parking laughable...and I was sober.

Great atmosphere, good service, good food....odd vanilla ice cream. :) We recommend the appetizer quesadilla...delicious!

I wish the food was as great as the atmosphere. We ordered the Grace Ruben, and the Fish n Chips. These are two dishes that should be a signature to any "Irish Pub" and both were disappointing. The corned beef on the ruben was dry, and the Grace sauce did not add any flavor to the sandwich. The fish and chips where saturated with oil, and the fish was bland as well. If you go, make this a stop for a beverages, not a satisfying meal.

This is the second time we have been that the food was just so-so, as is the service. We would rather hit the local Ruidoso dives and down half as much for way better food and service.

My husband and I thought this place was great. It's very attractive and has a wonderful outside patio for nice weather. Our waitress Tabitha was very good and attentive. She suggested the soup special and it was delicious. We also had the sliders and they were tasty. Prices were reasonable. We returned the next night for open mic night and that was fun. Good music but not so loud that you can't talk. We tried a couple of fancy coffee drinks that we enjoyed. We would definitely go back.

We went here for a drink one evening and had a great time. The service was excellent and the drinks were tasty. The place was hopping. We were encouraged and decided to go again. The service was LOUSY. We didn't have a server for our table, just whoever we could catch. It took forever to get our food, and there we're several mistakes on the order that took a long time to remedied. Food was excellent, except for one meal that was overcooked, and though they brought it out three times, it was still overcooked. After awhile, all we could do was laugh at the ridiculousness of it all. Lesson learned: great place for a drink, but not for a meal.

Fish was great on the fish and chips entree on the dinner menu, French fries were a little undercooked, a little too greasy for me. Service was ok.; I'd come back again. Nice decor, plenty of TV's around if you want to catch your current sports game.

I am a fan of the atmosphere at this classic Irish pub. Warm and inviting and the best place to watch a game in Ruidoso. As for the food, the french onion soup and the mozarella and tomato baguette are very good. Skip the calamari and just order the fried cauliflower and broccoli that normally accompanies it. Good homemade ranch dressing as well.

My husband and I love Ruidoso and have frequented Grace O'Malley a few times during previous visits and loved it. The last time we went however, was a HUGE disappointment. I'm pretty sure that the management and chefs has changed and it's definitely not for the better. We came in on a Thursday night and they were having karaoke. The DJ was terrible. The food was less than sub-par and the service was adequate, but definitely a different vibe to the place than when we had visited a year before. I ordered the strawberry spinach salad with shrimp. They forgot the shrimp and still charged us for it, the salad was drenched in a syrupy strawberry "vinaigrette" and the spinach was wilted. My husband ordered the Guinness chicken wings that had really blown our minds on a previous visit and they were just terrible. I would equate them to the Tyson's frozen wings from the grocery store slathered in cheap BBQ sauce. The next night, which was a Friday, we decided to go again. Even if the food wasn't fantastic they had a decent selection of beer on tap. So we thought what the heck. BAD decision. From the moment we got there we were like flies on the wall. No one acknowledged our entrance. We sat at the bar for a bit and waited. And waited some more. The bartender was not friendly at all when he finally made it to us and made us feel like we were imposing upon his busy night (we were the only ones at the bar). He even huffed a little when we ordered our second round. Oh, but wait, it gets better. We decided to go upstairs and play billiards. That was fine while things were slow. As soon as it started to get crowded these imposing young bouncers started casing every room, as if they were bored and looking for someone to irritate. Previously in the evening I had met and made small talk with their "head of security". He seemed like a nice young guy. Very friendly and chatty. Then one of his bouncers came up to me at the bar (and when I say came up, I mean he was inches from me, totally invading my personal space) and said that it was time to leave. Having only had a few beers, I was very taken aback by why he would talk to me in that manner and why he would get in my face about it. I told him I wanted to speak with the "head of security" that I had spoken with earlier for an explanation. He said fine but that my husband and I had to leave first. So, not wanting to make a scene, we walked outside. Where the bouncer promptly turned on his heel and walked away. No "head of security" came to explain the rudeness. I opened the door and asked to speak with him as I was told it wouldn't be a problem. He finally came out and said that on the security cameras my husband looked "wobbly"(I'd like to note that it had been raining for days and everything was slick). My husband had only had a few himself and was by no means intoxicated. But, I understand if they believed him to be over the limit that they have the right to ask him to leave. My problem with the situation was the way it was handled. I was asked to leave in a very rude and imposing way when neither of us were ever cut off or asked to stop ordering from the bar. I felt threatened and intimidated by the young man that asked me to leave and I wasn't even the one that they thought was "wobbly." My husband was never approached by anyone but me. I called the manager from outside the restaurant and expressed how upset I was with the way my husband and I were treated and she said "well ma'am, you are more than welcome to come back in. We only needed your husband to leave." Ok, first of all I would never go back to a place that treated me or my husband that way and secondly I would definitely not go back without my husband. I let her have it for a few minutes and she offered no apologies or any kind of further explanation for the way I was treated. When I said that there is no way we would return, she hung up in my face. We are sad that one of our favorite places in Ruidoso has fallen so far from the quality and kindness that we enjoyed so much with previous visits. I really hope that one day someone takes over that has a better understanding of how to treat their customers and make decent food. Until then, we will not be returning and we will be discouraging any of our friends or family from visiting as well. Note: if a negative rating was possible, I would have used it.

I only gave this place three stars because the atmosphere was very nice. The owners put a huge effort into making a nice pub/restaurant. We had nice table next to a huge fire place, which was cozy when it is cold out. The food was ok. I had the fish and chips. The fish was chewy, with a spongey texture. The coleslaw served on the side was so salty it was inedible. The rosemarie sauce was not very flavorful. The fries were great though!! The other guests I was with had the muscles in whiskey sauce, corned beef sandwich, and chicken fingers. The muscles were decent however they were served with a very strange Irish soda bread. The bread did not look like any Irish soda bread I had ever eaten and was almost sweet. It did not pair well with the muscles. The corned beef was just ok. The best meal that was served was the Chicken fingers my toddler ate. They were moist and delicious. Unfortunately no kids menu, so we had to order a huge plate of $8 chicken fingers to feed him. Waitstaff was friendly but a little clueless. We had to get up to get our own silver wear. We had to get up and ask for sauces and a side dish for the muscles.. I used the unisex bathroom and there was vomit all over the toilet from the night before, gross! We ate around noon so I'm assuming the bathrooms were dirty from the night before. Positive Fun atmosphere, Good location Large beer selection Negative Average to poor food that is pricey No kids menu Vomit not cleaned up in bathroom from night before Poorly trained waitstaff

What a disappointment! After a nice Guinness and band experience one night , we returned another night to the pub for a meal. We ordered shepherd's pie, Guinness, water, and Black and Tan brownie with vanilla bean ice cream. The shepherd's pie was delivered in 3 minutes (before the Guinness or the water) and was only warm based on the feel if the bowl. The server volunteered to re heat and it went back for another 3 minutes. (Still editing on Guinness). The second attempt still felt warm but the server suggested we taste it as it would be hot in the bowl. It was not. It went back a third time and finally the third time the pie was hot. And we now had a Guinness with an inch and a half head (obviously not a double pour). The pie had carrots and celery with no other vegetables apparent other than mashed potatoes. at best it was mediocre. The Black and Tan brownie was hard and served with some sort of orange ice cream. It was clearly not vanilla bean and not tasty but we were tired of complaining. Go to the pub for the drinks. Eat elsewhere.

I had an enjoyable evening at Grace O'Malley's. For starters, awesome beer selection (try the irish ale). Pub burgers and irish breakfast meals were generous and tasty. Hot chocolate adult beverages are a must! There was a great authentic irish band playing which capped off the experience. We'll be back!

we enjoy Grace O'Malleys. we have a house in ruidoso and go there every time we go up. The service can be a little slow for food, but the drinks came fast and we are there to relax and have fun. Someone mentioned its not kid friendly - its a pub! I think its designed for the ski crowd in the winter and summer tourists. Take your kids to lunch there, not for dinner. I love the odd seating. They have a really good mozzerella open face sandwich with a ceasars salad that is really great and my husband always eats the irish breakfast - which is identical to the ones we had in county Cork last year on our visit.

I gave it five stars to offset some of the one star reviews. We ate here twice in the week we were in Ruidoso and had a good experience both times. This place is a restaurant downstairs, but there is an upstairs bar with pool tables, etc. I think some people miss that because we didn't find out about it until our second trip. Both times my wife and I went we had good food and good service. No, it's not exactly a traditional Irish pub, but they have some of the better food in town. I thought the bangers and mash was good. The shepherd's pie has cheese on top so you purists won't like it, but it's otherwise as good as I've had. Reuben sandwich also a winner. They have some expensive ($10 a piece) martinis, but they were very good and unique like creme brulee and chocolate martinis, etc. Service was great both times. We will definitely go back whenever we visit Ruidoso. Parking is tough though...you might have to park down the street and walk there.

Such a fun hang! Pretty much the only place in Rui for killer nightlife, pool, great beer & drink selection. Super fun indoor AND outdoor settings. Definitely a MUST when visiting the area. Not super kid friendly after 8ish but then again the kids should be in bed, right?!?

This place is good to had drinks in but the food is terrible !! If it comes out of the deep frier it may be ok. I had the RLT sandwich and I couldn't eat it ! The waitress just said she was sorry I didn't like it. It was a Canadian bacon sandwich. I can tell the owner or manager doesn't try the food. I'm not the kind of person that say much when the food is just ok. If you have to go here just have drinks.

I was going to order Bangers and Mash for the first time ever but alas I went safe and got the fish and chips. I wasn't sorry though as they were excellent. First time ever I got frisked going into a restaurant but this was probably because of the AspenCade Bike Rally in town. This Irish pub really had it going on. Friendly staff, an outgoing manager, good band, good quality tap beer. But most important to me was their customer service. They were so on top of it. And this was with all customers not just my party. The quality of the food we were served was perfect. Love this place. I was so pleasantly surprised and I look forward to coming back.

Food was not prepared right and we had to keep flagging down our waiter. We didn't even stay for more drinks as we were afraid it would take forever to get served. Not a good experience at all. I don't think I will be back to this pub.

Sorry to say, we had a pretty bad experience a few days ago, and looking back at past reviews, we apparently aren't alone. It's a lovely place, with some outdoor seating, and would be a pleasant place to have a beer or two. But the food was awful. Shepard's pie came out cold, and after they nuked it and brought it back, the big chunks of carrots (yes! Shepards pie) were still raw, the hamburger unseasoned and the cheese on top the best tasting part of the whole concoction. And the mussels. Oh, the mussels....fully half were unopened, thus inedible, and the rest not very nice. And in fairness, they comped the dish, but didn't seem surprised. Maybe my bad for ordering shellfish in New Mexico. I hope it was a bad night, because it's a pleasant place, but skip the mussels and Shepard's Pie!

This place was off putting as soon as I put my foot in the door. The "hostess" ( I use that word loosely) didn't really acknowledge us when we walked in. She seemed very aloof when she asked how many we had. She had a hard time figuring out where to seat us it seemed. The place was not very busy. I was very excited to have an authentic Irish Pub in Ruidoso, it could definitely carve its own nitch there since there is not anything like it. We were sat. It took forever for someone to greet us. (Slow service) We ordered our beers and appetizer. The appetizer was the only thing that I liked at that place. Waffle Fries topped with corned beef and cheese. Very good. She never brought the side plates we asked for so we all ended up just sloppily eating off the main plate. By the time we finished with the appetizer she still hadn't taken our order. The food was laden with grease, the fish was rubbery, the burger was under seasoned and underwhelming. :( Another odd thing to point out. This woman who wasn't our waitress kept stopping by to make weird jokes that were kind of inappropriate and rude. She was "teasing" us but none of us were jiving with her. Things forgotten- Had to cancel second order of beers because they never came. BBQ sauce for chicken tenders never came, check delivered to us was the wrong one. I really wanted to like this place, but it was just terrible. I'm so disappointed.

We tried to eat supper here tonight, we were seated right away but it was so warm in here, I don't think the AC was on, and no one even bothered to come take our drink order that we gave up and left.

This is always a must stop for when I come down from the slopes. They have a refreshing O'malleys Red beer that i have to have every time. I tried the catfish po boy and it was pretty good. Waiter had to ask if the cook new how to make it blackened which I thought was a little off but it came out great. Not much night life to do in this town but this place has pretty good entertainment. Also pool, darts, and shuffle board upstairs with a bar. Outdoors is a fire pit to gather around and hang out.

OK the service is not great but if you want a cool looking place that has pretty good food this is a good choice. The black and tan is almost perfect and the fish and chips are sneaky good

We had just gotten back from a short hike in the White Mountain Wilderness, so we were all hungry. It was a nice overcast day, so we chose the patio. We were seated right away, and our drinks and appetizer arrived quickly (inside of 10 minutes for both). We soon discovered that they had only assigned one waitress to the whole patio. She was taking it in stride, honestly. But she had 5 or 6 tables in rapid succession and was not writing down orders. My friends both got their food within 15-20 minutes of seating. My food (a simple burger) was MIA. Multiple requests of our waitress and some bussers were met with assurances that they'd check on my burger. Finally I asked the waitress if she had forgotten to key in my order. She said she had and said she would "discount" my burger for this mistake. My burger came, and it was exactly what I ordered. But I was severely disappointed that my waitress could not or would not let me know what went on with my order. Though she was honest, I had to ask. And as for that discount, management needs to evaluate their comp policy. Better restaurants would have comped the appetizer or my (cheap) burger. I was already mad--a 10% discount on just the burger (amounting to a mere $1.20!) as a "sorry" was frankly even more of an insult. I don't blame the waitress for the poor service and sad excuse for making poor service right. Whoever schedules and whoever makes the policy for comping items for dissatisfied customers is really to blame. I'll go again, but I may just ask for my waitress to write my order down.

Our service tonight was good and attentive. Our party of six was seated at entry. There was a little bit of a wait for the food to come out but it wasn't unbearable. My husband and I split a fish and chips and a Spinach Strawberry salad. The meal was filling for us both. The server split the meal in the kitchen which was nice. The fish was pretty greasy and we soaked up the excess with papertowels. The family enjoyed an order of hot wings for an appetiser and those were delicious. Clean bathrooms.

My husband and I ate dinner here tonight and enjoyed a couple of pints! The food was superb (Chop Chop salad was exceptionally fresh and extremely tasty, DH says Shepherds Pie was delish)! The service was great, the environment welcoming and clean, and the music played overhead was on point as well! We are here for 3 days and this will not be our last visit to Grace O'Malley's!

Unfortunately the bartender ruined any chance of a good time. Thanks Alberto. You are rude and unprofessional. The beauty of the bar is lovely and even our burger was good. But with such rude service we did not return. Maybe the owners need to be on site more and see how their customers are being treated.

Crazy slow service....and we had two waiters. It was confusing to the staff what a black and tan was (in a pub). Nice location, and friendly employees, but I think they should concentrate on quality before quantity.

Last week, I had a dozen friends and family in Ruidoso. We wanted to try out a restaurant downtown. I had never visited O'Malley's, but everyone seemed game. We had a 30-minute wait...which was expected for a party of twelve. The waiter was quirky...kind of a smart ass...but no one really cared. The food was ok...depending on what you ordered. My chicken fried steak was extremely overcooked...folks who got sandwiches and pasta were satisfied. If I had the chance to go again for a beer and fun...no problem...but I'd eat before I go. Sad...because the place has so much potential.

1st time here. Last time here. Service is horrible, bunch of kids on staff, no one has been. Your money and your time are better spent elsewhere. What a waste of an evening after a great day with the family.

Darlene is the sole reason I come to the pub... Not for the overwhelming sexual attraction, but because of the great atmosphere she creates with the charming smile and warm welcoming attitude of hers. The Irish nachos are also pretty great.

Bad service, had a great beer selection if you want to wait 15 plus minutes for one. Our queso was so cold that we sent it back.read the reviews. 15 staff members standing around and not one of them came to check on our table. The guacamole came from a can so after the horrible service and appetizers we left. As a former waiter, this is the first time in 15 years I didn't leave a tip.

Wholly Shit Bad! My husband and I visited a year ago and enjoyed our experience. This year was a very different experience. The hostess had no clue. She sat my husband, 1 year old daughter and I next to the patio where the door opened every few minutes forcing us to breath smoke. We saw our waitress 3 times. She didn't know what they had and didn't have. The food made me want to see their kitchen, and the bartender had never heard of a mojito. Brought seltzer and cheap rum. Wish instead he would have just said so. What the heck happened?!? Its a shame because of the potential this place has. It used to be so good. New Management?

My husband, 2 children and I went there at about 4:00 on a Saturday, it was obviously pretty busy, when we walked through the door, the hostess didn't really acknowledge us. After I stood in front of her for a while, she looked at me, rolled her eyes and said "it's going to be a wait", didn't greet us, ask how many were in our party or anything. We left, and won't be back.

Had Corned Beef and Cabbage, it was good, not the best, they serve it on a plate rather than a bowl in its juices :( Also had Farmhouse Salad, very good mix of greens and mustard vinaigrette dressing. My bf had the Ruben w/ french onion soup was good, he gives it 3/5 stars.

This place feels like a chain but I've never come across another Grace O'Mally's. I love the beer selection. Just a huge selection of beer on tap for a restaurant. Since I'm usually here by myself, I like sitting upstairs where I can socialize with other patrons, play darts, play pool etc. The upstairs bar has a bit of a divey feel to it which is a bit of a contrast to the first floor restaurant. I've enjoyed every meal I've had here. I usually stick to the English/Irish items on the menu which tends to be a little fancier than the same item would be prepared on the other side of the pond but very good. I find the food items to be a bit pricier than I would expect. However, the prices for their draft beers I think are a bit low (at least they are for the premium/craft beers) than I would expect so it all works out as long as you're having more than just food.

This place is phenomenal!!! Great atmosphere!!! The food is wonderful( coming from and Irish family) and every time we have been here our food came quick for the amount of business that was here! Great area for a large group of friends to hang out with! The patio is great! The service is attentive and knows the menu well. I am an experienced server and place high expectations and they did well. The owner is sweet and came to each table and made sure things were perfect! A different and decent selection of pub drinks Especially imported options!! The food is amazing! Irish food at its best! The Shepard's Pie, the chips and Marie Sauce and Galway Apple dumpling are to die for. A must stop in Ruidoso for sure!!!

The Guinness was tasty... And my boyfriends pub burger looked good. My shepherds pie was ok... Kinda dry and smothered in yellow cheese. The service and atmosphere was terrible. The bartenders were eating at the bar with the manager... Giving us half assed service. The couple next to us at the bar seemed to be well known in the place and talked about how small their dicks were and "bitch" this and "fuck" that. The lights were too bright. I'd rather go to Walmart for a frozen dinner next time I roll into Ruidoso later in the evening then have to listen to the bartender and locals call each other bitches and throw straws at each other..

On our recent visit to Grace O'Malley's Irish Pub we were quite disappointed with the Sunday Brunch. I ordered a Santa Fe omelet and had to return it because it appeared to be charbroiled . Evidently, the cook had his grill way to hot and the omelet was way over cooked. My husband had a burger that had no flavor although the fries were tasty. When I received a new omelet, it did not look that much better and the cheese was not even melted. On our last visit to O'Malley's , I also ordered a Santa Fe omelet but received the Denver omelet instead. When I pointed this out to the waiter, he was sure I ordered the Denver. Whatever happened to "the customer is always right?" On a side note, when I ordered the omelet I asked the waiter if it came with toast and he replied "no" so I ordered a side of bread. Well, the omelet did come with toast which I then had to take home. Our lesson from this experience is to stick to the Fish and Chips or the Reuben - they seem to get those right.

First time to Ruidoso, chose this place for uniqueness. That is where the good times ended, pulling into the parking lot. Had a Godiva coffee that was lukewarm and watered down. Tried to send it back and the incompetent manager told me that she would comp half since I had eaten the whipped cream off the top. Wow...thanks. She also asked me if I had read the description of the drink...umm of course I did, don't insult my intelligence. The waitress was nice, but a total ditz. Had shepherd's pie and husband had burger. Gordon Ramsay probably would have vomited in his mouth. It was mediocre, at its very best. Save your money and your time and choose something else. Even Mcd's sounded good after this place! Note: It has 1 star because I couldn't choose 0.

Went there last night on a recommendation from the hotel I'm staying at. Got the fish and chips. Very disappointed, was so greasy and not very crisp at all. Saw the bangers and mash on the table next to me. Yeh they weren't happy either. Stick to the burgers and other food. Not good Irish food.

Service was bad. Waited 45 minutes. No one ever waited us. Went to the bar to get drinks and went to Dominos.

This place looks fantastic. Great atmosphere indoor and outdoor seating. The service we had was horrible. We were seated quickly, so not too busy, the waitress took a long time to take our drink order on the terrace then the wait for delivery. We got our menus and chose what we wanted while another table had their appetizers delivered. The waitress bypasses our table to take the other tables meal order. The food was just okay, not bad and nothing to rave about either. The check arrived for a party of five the tip was included but no mention prior and such poor service I would have been inclined to leave a 15% tip, no more. The establishment included 17%. So no incentive for better service. Would not recommend this place for food. Maybe the beer as there was quite a nice variety but I would only sit at the bar!

Monday Night Football. 20 people in the building, 10 of them are my group. They can't get 2 of the 4 TVs to actually show the game. Very average burger. Sorry guys, this place leaves A LOT to be desired.

Okay yelpers, I reactivated my Yelp acct just to write this quick review. One year ago I was in Ruidoso on a vacation when there was a lot of hype about this restaurant due to it being brand new. I went there with my girlfriend and her mother. That staff was extremely slow. We had only stopped in for drinks but even those posed a challenge for the amateurish start up. We had our drinks and left. Fast forward a year and were back in town. I decided to give the place another chance merely for the ambiance the restaurant has. Once again the staff seemed elementary and crude I ordered a club sandwich that was horrible. It was a sandwich that my 7 year old could have made. Won't be going there again.

I am dumbfounded by the reviews I read. I have had three meals here in two days and can say that I was pleased with all three. Philly was incredible! Corned Beef and Cabbage was perfect. Reuben was tasty and rye was great. It is bar fare, since duh, it is a bar. It is a large space, which is awesome. Pool and darts upstairs. Nice beer selection and an equally impressive whisky and scotch list.

We've given this place 3 tries now, it have been less than great. The positive is the bar when the bar tender pays attention to the clients enough to take an order! The actually do know some English and Irish drinks though. The food is sub par, greasy and over cooked is the standard. It's good if you're going for drinks and a nice setting.

If you are expecting quality Irish fare, find another locale. Service was below average and the food left a lot to be desired.

I absolutely love the atmosphere of this place. The staff is so nice and everything has a relaxed pub feel. Plus all of the lights, the tables, chairs, artwork, all of it add to a great vibe. The food was just as amazing. I had the cottage pie. Oh so good and it came out quickly.

After a disappointing snowboard day my bf and I decided to grab some food. We looked up restaurants around the area. Most places were closed by 8 or 9pm; this place was the closet to our hotel and open . We walked in and the place was empty. We sat at a corner table next to the bar and ordered the calamari and vegetable appetizer. When the appetizer came out we were shocked to see only 6 pieces of calamari on the plate and the rest was deep fried broccoli. The server stated they had a "signature" sauce that went with the calamari.. let's just say the onion in that signature sauce was overwhelming and did not compliment the calamari at all. Entrees: I had the chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes, and sauteed mushrooms. The chicken fried steak was burnt and had hardly any meat in it. The mushrooms were burnt and tasted liked charcoal. My bf had the New Mexico steak, baked potato, and side salad with balsamic dressing. The steak was smothered in cheese, the balsamic dressing was horrible and the croutons were stale and hard. Atmosphere: One of the employees was getting drunk at the bar and proceeded to talk louder and louder. Let me just state she was sitting at the bar with her work shirt on and yelling out, "I could f*ck you so hard! My place is down the road and I get off in an hour." After that we paid and proceeded to leave. I was going to talk to someone on the way out, however the "host" was on the phone and did not acknowledge us leaving at all. I stood there and the host saw me, but kept on with her personal phone conversation. I understand if you have a crowded establishment but there were only 2 other patrons in the restaurant they could have at least said , "thank you for coming" or something of that nature. For a place that has such few patrons I would expect at least friendly customer service and semi descent food. I will not be coming back here ever again.

I came here with my girlfriend and her family. They have a really good ruben sandwich and the fries/onion rings here are phenomenal. They are definitely lacking in the way of beer choices - they have the obvious Guiness and Murphy's (on Nitrus) but that's about it. The decor in the restaurant is AMAZING and it looks authentic (allegedly a lot of the stuff in the restaurant was actually brought over from Ireland). We got to meet the owner who is from Ireland and he seems like a great guy, definitely trying to keep the place traditional (which is good).

After our tour of Fort Stanton, we stopped at Grace O'Malley's for dinner. My wife had the tomato/mozzerella baguette with basil spread and a small salad. Very good. I had the bangers and mash, two large sausages with peas and mashed potatoes with onion gravy. Delicious. Service was fine.

Looks can be very deceiving and I'm sorry to report this is the case with Grace O'Malley's Irish Pub; great location and nicely decorated, but, all pleasantries stop there. Poor service matched with terrible corn beef and cabbage, cold potatoes, still frozen carrots and a waitress with a chip on her shoulder is more than any paying customer should have to endure! There are many places in Ruidoso to enjoy a meal and a beer but this isn't it!

We have been here several times in the past with sub par service but this time took the cake! Prior to tonight our orders were lost and then when we received it the shepards pie was basically a soup. Tonight however the staff was so awful we walked out!! Our hostess was a terrible woman who had the audacity to talk bad about us after she seated us thinking we were not coming back up. I would love to know why my 75 year old father had to have his ID checked. By law it is required to ID everyone but come on he's wrinkly and does not look under 21. After our treatment tonight we won't be visiting again. It is not worth the money you spend for the quality of food and terrible staff.

  • Kathy M.

The atmosphere is amazing, food very good, portions decent. Honestly, I don't think the employees like working here. Nobody smiles, can't find our waitress, girls who were seating customers ignore questions and the place is about 1/4 full. Don't know what it would be like on busy day. I will not return!

We had great service & great food! My only complaint is the volume of the music... Terribly loud! At our table, we had fish n chips, Reuben sandwich, quesadilla, French onion soup, Irish nachos, & wings. We loved every bit of it!

So here's my take: The good: 1. Atmosphere is really nice. Very interesting and pretty without being too full of itself. 2. Food is pretty good. Burger and fries for my partner, shepherd's pie for me. Both were really great! 3. Beer is great. And drinking at high altitudes is always magical. c; The bad: 1. All the staff are super young, and the waiters and waitresses kinda give you that "I'm still in training" vibe. All the ones we met were really friendly and did really well, but they just seemed like they lacked confidence in what they were doing. 2. The hostesses need a better management system. We got seated fairly quickly, but there was obviously a little miscommunication on who goes where and who is doing what. I don't think this is so much their fault as the way they've been told to run a (probably not well organized) system of doing things, but they seem to be almost as lost as the waiters and waitresses. If it's not super busy, you probably won't have any problems though. 3. The portion on my shepherd's pie was a little small, but I just ate some of the fries from my partner's burger, so it was no big deal. I would definitely suggest an appetizer or dessert if you're really hungry, as they have some pretty good looking options. Just don't expect to get full off your main entree if you come in on a very empty stomach.

The atmosphere was nice, and the drinks weren't bad, but the food leaves much to be desired. Our waitress was pleasant, but not very knowledgeable (she first asked if I wanted my wine "mixed with something", then when I told her no, just the wine, she asked if I wanted it "on the rocks or straight up"...) We ordered the spinach dip. It was congealed cheese on big chuncks of spinach. Very bland. My husband got fish & chips. It was luke warm & pretty greasy. I ordered the shepherds pie. It was not very warm, and just loose meat in water with carrots. The mashed potatoes were instant potatoes and basically disappeared in the water from the loose meat. If you're just going to have a drink & sit on the patio, probably OK, but if you're looking for good Irish food, not the place.

Food was amazing and the beers once they arrived after the apps were good. Service was less to be desired. Very rude server who seemed bothered by our request for drink menus and our checks. And once he brought our checks he made the mistake of switching up our credit card with another persons check and then had the nerve to tell us after snatching the book from our hands that we had to wait 15 minutes. Hope to come back one day and have better service

We came here for New Year's, so perhaps our experience was a little out of the ordinary. There was a $30 cover (a little steep for Ruidoso, but not killing me), and we were guaranteed a table. Our server was attentive, despite the fact that there were a butt-load of people here. The place was pretty danged packed. She kept us filled with drinks, and there were h'orderves floating around pretty constantly. I like the little fire pit/smoking area. Also, although we couldn't use the outdoor seating, I am sure during the summer that's a pretty awesome place to hang out. Pool tables and bar upstairs, which I like. If nothing else, I am just glad there's an option to eat/drink in Midtown that's not WPS or Quarters. I'm tired of having to choose between a cowboy bar or a bar filled with wannabe gangsters if I want to be in Midtown. Hopefully this place can stay open.

The service was awful! We had a 40 min wait which we were all fine with. We got beers and stood around. Our buzzer went off on accident apparently and I asked for them to reset it. We were told we were next for a table. We watched others go by an get seated that had been waiting less time than us. Ten minutes later we ask again about our table. We don't get any apology, instead we get a very rude lady telling us to just wait. Another 20 min go by and we never got a table. We then closed out all tabs at the bar and walked out. We were a party of five expecting to spend some money on dinner. Instead I will share my displeasure so no one has to go through what we did.

Bartender lacked all social skills usually present with said trade. Cold outside and colder inside, heat would've been a welcome patron. Drinks were so so and way overpriced for a lunch stop. Won't be coming back soon.

This place has potential, but really disappointed us. Mostly due to bad service. Everyone had a poor attitude. The waitress did no write our oder and forgot several things. I wss never offered a refill. The food was mediocre. Don't waste your money or time at this place.

We visit Ruidoso several times a year. Our trip isn't complete without a visit to Grace O Malley's Irish Pub. The ambience is top notch, the long list of cold beer and spirits is a treat, as is the food. Don't miss sitting on the patio in the middle of town and enjoying the hustle and bustle of the village. They are also very "kid friendly". The Hunt family

I would give this place five stars if I was rating it on food and drink selection alone. The food is great and the drink and beer selection are awesome. On top of that its a really beautiful pub. If I was rating it on service alone I would give it two stars if that. We went on a Tuesday afternoon and the place was empty. We were greeted and seated promptly but our server took a while to show up. 15 min. later we had water. 20 min after that he finally came around to take our order. And 45 min later we finally had our food that must have been sitting in the back for a while because it was cold. During this time we could see our waiter at the bar chatting up the bartender, who had customers trying to get her attention. We never got our drinks refilled and long after we were done eating I finally went and asked him to please bring us the tab.... which took him less than a minute to get. This place could be really fantastic if it wasn't for the servers and bartenders. I hope the owner will weed out the riffraff soon because I would really like to go back.

Food ok. TERRIBLE service. Told it would be a 10-15min wait with empty tables everywhere, and the explanation made no sense. Waited 15min for a 2nd Guinness--at an Irish Pub--and ended up canceling it. Messed up the bill. Multiple tables around us had their orders messed up. Seemed completely unorganized. One of the worst experiences I've had in a restaurant, and it would be one thing if they had been busy. Don't go.

Since the opening of Grace O'Malley's this Fall, I have been there on 4 different occasions. From their menu I have had Fish n' Chips, appetizers including BBQ wings, crab cakes, and a Reuben sandwich. I'd give high marks to all except the Reuben, which was average at best. The service is usually good - but I usually go on slower week nights rather than busy weekends. The beer selection is outstanding with names like Smithwick's Ale and Guinness Stout. The atmosphere is great, and includes a lot of Irish influences. No expense was sparred in the making of this restaurant ! Parking can be a challenge, as it is in most of Ruidoso. Overall, I like Grace O'Malley's and will be going back soon.

The food was good. We had Chips & Maria Rose Sauce. The fries (chips) were really yummy but the sauce was just ketchup and mayo mixed together. No kick at all. We also had a Reuben that was piled high with meat but lacking kraut, cheese and sauce. We had a couple of taps beers that were good and cold but the first beer was not the flavor we ordered. Of course, we drank it anyway. : ) The service was NOT good. We waited at the table when we sat down for about 10 minutes for our server, then she took our drink order and we waited another 10 minutes. Then the beer finally came and it was the wrong beer. You can't blame the bartender as she was very busy chatting up the man at the bar. When our food came out only one person was served and we had to flag down our server to ask about the other persons food. All in all just an "ok" experience.

March 2013 visit. The nicest place in Ruidoso. A huge restaurant among the tiny 5-10 table restaurants in the rest of town. Well designed..reminded me of a big city Bennigan's (anyone remember Bennigan's?). We stopped for lunch and the 8 of us all agreed it was the best meal we had while in Ruidoso. Great variety...Rueben sandwiches, french onion soup, fish and chips, black and tans, bangers and mashed...they had all the classics. After lunch, the girls went shopping and the fellas drank several pints outside on the patio on a crystal clear New Mexican spring day..it was bliss.....except for: A restaruant first: right in the middle of town, a group of teens would drive past O'Malley's every 15-20 minutes with the windows down with one of the girls screaming, "F**k you! F**k you!" every time they drove by. The driver was screaming, "Lick my a**hole!" I was so glad I was not eating outside on the patio that day!

Why do I feel like im walking towards a truck with its highbeams on? Every light was turned on full blast when we walked in the front door at around 8pm. Once my eyes adjusted to the brightness and I realized I wasn't in surgery at the ER we made our way to the bar to order a drink. Plenty of beers on tap here to choose from and what looks like a great liquor selection. Beers were a little overpriced but I'll take in to consideration that its a mountain town. Music as we walked in seemed a little like walking in to a club but calmed down after a while. Our first choice was to sit outside on the patio to enjoy the cool night but the rain left every cushion seat soaked so we retreated back inside. Found a table to sit at and enjoyed our beers while waiters looked for every excuse to start sweeping up and closing down shop. We were still able to enjoy our drinks and enjoy ourselves so three stars are in order.

So so food... Had a "BLT", turned out to be a "LT" with two strips of bacon. Everyone else had burgers and sausage & potatoes (famous German food), thought it was so so. There's a bar upstairs, excited to go for the first time... Mmmmmmm bartender was not so much in a good mood.. So we left :/

We arrived expecting to be able to eat on the lovely patio so we could enjoy the delightful evening breeze and were told they do not serve on the patio. What a disappointment. We took a booth inside and were seated in front of the stage. The singer was horribly loud and off key. You couldn't even hear the hostess. We promptly left. It was horrid.

My husband and I love spending weekends in Ruidoso, and this weekend we decided to try this restaurant. Service was great, food was fantastic (He got a steak, cooked to perfection, and I got chicken cordon bleu), and the drinks were delicious. We will definitely be back again. The only complaint I have is the music; was not expecting the pop music (Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus).

Bottom Line Up Front: Great beer/cider on draft, good food, HORRIBLE service. Positives: - Atmosphere: All dark wood, looks & feels like a real Irish pub - Beers: Great selection of drafts. - Food: Pretty tasty food; I'd definitely recommend the Irish Breakfast with a Magner's cider. Negatives: - Service: WOW. The service alone took this review from 5-stars to 2. I have honestly gotten better service at fast food restaurants. We were there, with reservations on a Saturday evening, among a party of 6. We waited 25 minutes to order drinks. By that time everybody was ready to order appetizers & entrees, so we took care of it in one fell swoop. Nothing for over 30 minutes. Absolutely nothing - no drinks, no food, no server. The food arrived (ALL of it - appetizers & entrees all together. WTF?), but we still had no drinks or enough silverware. The beers & ciders arrived, warm. After that, we didn't see our server until it was time for the check. Completely amazed at the ambivalence of the wait staff - YOU COULD MAKE THIS PLACE AWESOME IF YOU CARED TO!!!

The food was great but the service ruined the experience. We probably should have read the reviews in advance, but this is a very kid-unfriendly place. For a tourist town, that's a bad idea. Not only is there no kids menu, there is only one or two things on the adults menu that a typical picky kid might consider. Before we even got to ordering food, though, the big problem was with the service. It was terrible. We were easily at our table for 15 minutes before they even took drink orders and then another ten minutes before the sodas arrived, another five to ten minutes after that the one beer we ordered finally showed up. Unforgivable in a bar to leave people sitting for 20-30 minutes without drinks. We ordered and the only option available for the kids was appetizer chicken tenders and appetizer plate of fries. But even the chicken tenders ended up not being kid friendly as they were gigantic, a half a chicken breast breaded and fried. They were delicious for the adults, but hard for the kids to eat. The best dish was the Guinness beef stew, which was terrific, with tender and flavorful beef. The Shepard's pie was good, but not great. The burger was mediocre. The soup of the day was really a chicken strew which was very starchy with lots of beans, not recommended. And everything was over $11, with most dishes in the $13-15 range. If I had to just rate the taste of the food, it would probably be a 4 star because of the Guinness beef stew and the chicken tenders and fries. But the service was so terribly slow and the prices too high that the meal ended up stressful and unsatisfying. If you are a few adults looking to kill hours nursing a beer, this spot works. If you want a nice family or group dinner, go elsewhere. I will add that our waitress was very friendly and pleasant, but unfortunately the service was so ridiculously slow that even as nice as she was it did not make up for the pace.

We had a great time here. The food is amazing (gluten free stuff for me Yay) and the kids got a huge ice cream sunday. This is not a place you go to if you are in a hurry. You come here to enjoy the atmosphere, the large selection of beer and wine and the authentic irish food. Our waitress was spot on and friendly. We all plan on coming back.

[3/11/13] After being housebound for a couple of days we took off for downtown Ruidoso. We have been to Grace O'Malley's before and were happy to return. For a while. It was early afternoon and it was busy, but not packed. Our server, Charlotte, greeted us promptly. Rick quickly found a beer he liked and ordered. Me? Too many choices! When I asked Charlotte if I could taste one she replied that they didn't do that anymore. Huh? Hmmm #1. But they did offer flights of beer--$2 for 2 oz pour. I ordered three and anxiously awaited my "tastes". After 4-5 minutes my husband said (after looking at the bar), "I think those are our beers." Hmmm #2. When we didn't see our waitress anywhere we flagged down another and she was happy to serve us our beers. Charlotte then appeared to take our order. We planned to go the the local Cattle Baron for dinner so we decided to share a sandwich and ordered the O'Malley's Corned. Just for grins I activated the stopwatch app on my phone and when it hit 20 MINUTES (you're probably wondering why we waited THAT long) we flagged down our waitress. We told her to forget our order (beers were long gone). Her excuse was that the ink had run out on the ticket so the kitchen didn't get the order, so she resubmitted it. (Uh, but shouldn't you have checked on it before 20 minutes went by??) As we were signing our bill the sandwich finally appeared but she sent it away. Very disappointed. Sure hope management gets this problem taken care of.

Great Irish pub! A fine addition to Ruidoso. We heard a great band there--The Fun Brothers. Very authentic Irish pub, so there is a small stage and a small dance floor. It is noisy, but the beer and food is great. Friendly staff as well. Don't miss it!

In terms of a modern beer pub/sports bar, it is the best in Ruidoso. Good atmosphere, large screen high def TV's, and good beer selection. In terms of value and service, it needs improvement. Happy hour is .50cents off regular prices... not much joy there! If you ask for a sample of a beer, shot glass size, to see if you like it before spending $6.00+ for one 20oz glass, they offer you a "Sample Flight" at $2.00 per 4 oz glass. Come on on, really? You spill more drawing pints than a small sample would require! I also recommend more special discount nights, like when you are trying to get rid of one keg and make room for another. Set a specific night and run some real "Happy Hours". As far as the selection of sports on the TV's, how about variety with games from all regions of the country instead of all TV's on the same channel? Understand if it is a major playoff game, but there are fans from all over that live or visit here. A good point is they can easily switch the channels from the bar tender's cell phone... Cool! More and better appetizers could also improve the experience. Selection is fairly limited to lots of fried options. How about some grilled or fresh veggies? Chili? Glad they are here, just hope they improve in these ares.

The onion soup was good. Pricey. The server was very attentive, friendly and kind of funny. Guinness is OK. Seating is really weird and uncomfortable... why do I feel like I'm sitting in a high chair? I'm over all that. Tourist trap for trendy transient travelers.

    (1)
  • Anna L.

  • Bella M.

The hostess was extremely unprofessional. She had the audacity to make a rude comment about us as we were leaving the establishment. I will never step foot in this restaurant again and will advise my friends to do the same.

Love the drink selection. My favorite appetizer is the chicken quesadilla. The decor is beautiful. Big variety of good food on the menu. Convenient location in midtown.

  • Chris D.

  • Troy P.

    (2)
  • Kathy T.

This was the worst dining experience I have had in 39 years. The highlights - 1. Were told the wait would be an hour and we waited well over 2 hours. 2. We calamari was rubbery. The fried broccoli served with tha calamari (interesting choice) were actually good. 3. The crab cakes were not recognizable as crab cakes - over deep fried and probably frozen. 4. The stew was not even warm and sent back immediately. 5. My salad had a very long hair in it. 6. We had to ask for silverware 4 times. 7. The manager was not very accommodating considering the litany of issues. The general manager made up for this. I won't go back to this place and will tell everyone I know to avoid this joint. Trust the Yelp reviews people - slow service and cold food are a theme. Owners - are you listening?

Hungary after the theatre. Ordered wings as an appetizer and they came out undercooked so back they went. Onion soup was hot but with no taste. Fish and chips were ok but I've had better. Service was good despite the reprehensible kitchen. Best part of the night waste band.

I completely disagree with all of the 2 or 3 star ratings. Last night I dined at the bar at this nice Irish restaurant and my bill was $16 for a sandwich and 2 beers. Since when is that expensive? The sandwich was massive and the fries were better than average. Everyone I encountered was super friendly too. Ozzie the bartender was talkative, as were the barbacks. This was one of the nicer Irish bars I've been to. I'd rather not brag about the amount of Irish bars I've visited, but if I had to put a number on it, it would be "a lot".
