Waitress was nice and the food was good. Our waitress was only one in our section and she was working very hard while a few others kind of did nothing. Would have been great, but their were flies, EVER WHERE and tons...

Worst place in this town.. I ordered the nachos and all I got was crumbs on a plate with cheese.. I asked the waitress to get me some real, whole chips with what I had ordered.. Manager came out and argued with me... I'm from Albuquerque and I know a restaurant up there would have fixed the problem, not argued.. Since when has the customer not been right???? Never be back here again!

Even though servers here are often friendly, which is rare in these parts, the service is generally unapologetically slow. It could be a New Mexico thing. No one moves quickly in this state, for better or for worse. But even compared to just the rest of Roswell, this place is slow. Anyway, their food is decent. The menu is all over the place and huge. It's not a place for a healthy meal but you can find a cold beer and the game is always on in the bar. I'd call it extensive bar food. There's nothing I'd rave about but Farleys has something for everyone except your vegan friends. Tonight I split the fajitas with my husband. I will not order them or the queso again. They were so mediocre I thought for a second I was in Oklahoma.

When researching our road trip, I read about Farley's and then dismissed it based on the reviews. Once we got to Roswell, well.. there wasn't much around so Farley's suddenly became a more desirable option. Once inside, the place was kinda fun. There were more people than we had seen at any other place nearby and there were plenty of TVs and overall happiness going on, so we ordered some drinks and food. We sat at a table in the bar and the service was friendly and good considering it was pretty busy. We had the Green Chile Wontons which I really liked (though in the Midwest, we don't get green chile anything, so it was new to us!) and the Jack Rabbit Droppings.. these were okay.. I mean, fried cheese is never actually BAD, but I wouldn't get these again. We also ordered the El Chingon pizza which I really loved. It was thin crust (the way I like) and had to folded to eat. Super delicious. I would order this over and over. The menu is also filled with tons of Farley-isms and jokes so overall it was a fun place to kick back, have a few drinks, watch the game and laugh over the menu.

Awful food. Overpriced for what you get. The floor was dirty and the chicken enchilada soup had no chicken. The waiter only came by to take and bring our order. Didn't check on us during the meal for drink refills

Farley's is what you would expect from a casual brewpub atmosphere. Staff is friendly, the beer is cold, the food portions are generous and the menu has lots of choices. Nothing we picked was better than standard. The boneless wings (nuggets) were soggy, the bbq sauce too sweet, the fajitas greasy and bland, the kids mac&cheese out of a box, however the kids pizza was pretty tasty. The best part of Farleys is all of the repurposed industrial decor - it's fun and well done.

Man alive, I don't understand how this place can stay open if the service I experienced was indicative of how things operate on a day-to-day basis. It wasn't busy, we sat at the bar, and it took over an hour for our food to come out (a patty melt and a Frito pie), this, even after it took 15 minutes to be acknowledged at all. So crappy service, but the food wasn't even good! When it came to time to leave, we didn't linger. We got the check ASAP, plopped down the card and when it came back we were out. I grew up in Ruidoso, so I know Farley's. I've been to the one there a bazillion times and never dealt with anything like this. Farley's I am disappoint. If you just wanna come in and watch a game, this could be an OK spot. The decor is kinda cool, and they've got a lot of TVs. But I would NOT come here for dinner/lunch again.

There is a smell. The service is good. Our server was very attentive. The food was good. Try El Chingon pizza. Order the Alien Amber. The video games don't work, which was a disappointment for my son. There are pool tables to enjoy as well as many screen TVs.

If I could, i would give this negative 5 stars. If by fun and rustic they mean sexist and corporate... Then yes, farleys fits their description. The no vertical id policy is ridiculous

On the outside, this looks like a cool place to try. I recommend just coming here for an appetizer and a few cocktails... or just a drink and watch the game on TV. Service is and has been crummy for a long time. The food isn't the best that this town has to offer anyway. Yelp around some other places. 2 stars - one for the cool decor inside & one for serving alcohol Disappointing because this place has loads of potential. Review #81

Really really hard to make food this bad. I've eaten there a few times only because beer/sports were needed and I will give credit for consistent terrible food. They do have lots of TVs and cold beer.

The burger with green chile was very good and my wife loved the green chile in the mashed potatoes that came with her cfs. Have a wide selection on the menu and kids menu. Good but not great selection of beers on tap. All in all was pretty good for the price and very good service.

Chips were addictive; crunchy & warm. The flies were plentiful. Service was very friendly, food was better than where we ate last night. My pizza had a good crust but skip the sausage -- it's a breakfast patty, on pizza, come on guys! It's not a national chain but don't take that to mean it's "local". Did I mention the flies?

This place has the potential to be good but the service and the food muck it up. The husband and I came in on a Monday night in search of cold adult beverages and pub food. We sat at the bar since the place was rather full for a week night. They have quite a few beers on tap including 312, Blue Moon etc etc. We were shocked by the amount of wastage by their inexperienced bartenders. In trying to get a perfect pour, they spilled more beer than what got into the pitchers. Each time they made a cocktail they used different pour counts so consistency be damned. Our bartender seemed to be a little overwhelmed since it took almost 20 minutes for him to acknowledge us and get our drink order. I had a pineapple margarita that tasted like straight pineapple juice, no tequila at all. What a disappointment. The food was pretty lackluster as well. My husband did have a chili dog the size of a football and the fries were ok. We ordered the wings, since that was advertised on the outside marquee. We asked for them to be extra spicy. They brought out a big heaping pile of big wings. That liked delicious but completely lacked any spice or flavor. The portion size was huge for the price and we had more than enough to take home but the bartender completely ignored us after we paid so we couldn't score a to-go box. No hard feelings there because they weren't very tasty. We also ordered some Jack Rabbit bites that were supposed to be filled with chicken, cheese and jalapeños. They just tasted like small cheese sticks, no jalapeño heat or chicken was detected. We probably would have stayed longer to drink beer, play pool and people watch but it took too long to get a beer. IF we ever go back, it won't be for the food.

Terrible service, mediocre food at best and thats really reaching. Everything is over priced, not to mention the wait times for your food extremely drawn out, then your meal is warm at arrival.

    (1)
  • Jeff T.

I've had worse. My food was decent, my bartender was fairly attentive, and my guts didn't reject the food afterwards. Not sure about the negative reviews, but I will say the place was relatively empty at noon:30 on a Wednesday afternoon. This may be due to a prevailing air of poor service - looks like the locals have given up.

In Farley's Roswell as I write this. If zero stars were possible, Farley's would get such a rating. The kitschy, industrial decor is cool but certainly NOT worth the price of admission. Our waitress was quadruple sat and none too happy about it. After reading previous reviews, I timed the service. Drinks took 13 mins to arrive to table from order; food took 28 mins and the salad was last to arrive at 32 mins. Requests for extra ranch or a beverage refill took 15 mins each. Also, we decided upon the "special" for $0.59 wings; upon inquiry, the wings in question were only bone-in buffalo although the wing choices included BBQ, Thai Chili and Sweet Ginger. In the end, our frazzled waitress even lost our ticket en route to giving us change. Please, PLEASE heed the reviews and don't give this place your well-earned dollars! Stop in if you must, take a look around, and hightail it back out the front door so you can get someplace else before they close! Also, as an interesting aside, this place is a chain with locations in Ruidoso and Las Cruces. Good to know so we can be sure to avoid those on future ski vacations!

  • Dan H.

I believe this is another chain. My host told me the secret about this place as far as beer is concerned. They have a Farley's beer, but they don't actually brew their own beer. It is a secret tap that I believe rotates. The secret is that it is only $2 for a pint and I think that is anytime. I could be wrong. This would be a 2 star review, but the inexpensive pints of pretty good brew ups it a star.

Going down hill... I used to love this place. Got food poisoning from undercooked meats on pizza. Terrible service the last few times in here. My food came out first while my wife had to wait 10 min for turkey sand which. Give me a break! And on top of that they double billed us or two pizzas. Idiots!!! It's a shame because the place has a ton of potential but I'm never going back after three terrible lunches in a row.

I'm giving it 3 stars, because for one thing, Roswell doesn't have much to offer in the way of eating establishments, and my food was good. Co worker and I went there our last night in town and I was hesitant at first because of the bad reviews that I've read on here. Asked some of the people in town we were doing work for and they said it was great for a beer and appetizers or a salad, burger, etc. So we decided to take a chance. We got there in time to take advantage of happy hour specials, which helped save the day some. We had a very nice server and she took care of us very good. However while we sat there, several people came in and it always seemed like the girl working the maitre'd position was never there. I saw her constantly walking around. I guess she was going to check her awful hairdo in the mirror repeatedly. It was decent enough. The only other negative part of the visit was this really burnt out looking lady sitting at the bar that kept staring at me. Made me almost lose my appetite.

I really don't understand why this place has such bad reviews. I loved the atmosphere of Farley's and the decor was great. Definitely reminded me a bit of Uno Chicago Grill with the rustic / industrial decor. Our waiter was a bit lacking in how often he checked on us and was kind of clueless (i.e. didn't bring us crayons despite seeing us come in with a toddler). Other than that minor drawback I would definitely recommend Farley's to friends and family.

While passing through town we stopped at this place because it looked fun. The inside is themed with old sci-fi items (what else should you expect from Roswell), and I have to say I enjoyed it. Per the recommendation by the waitress, we tried the Roadkill Chicken sandwich and the Turkey Jack. Both sandwiches were good and we had a great time. The only thing that could have made this better is a friendlier waitress. She was good, but not great. We are not regulars, but for tourists that are looking for a fun casual-dining restaurant I would say go check it out.

I felt like I was The Lord of the Files in this joint! It was absolutely disgusting how many flies were in this place. The waiter said they had a "bad night" and had to open the doors and this always happens. My brother and I didn't even order. We drank our Alien Ale and bailed. Can't give a food review but the flies were enough.

    (1)
  • Speros A.

Hideous service (nearly 1 1/2 hours for burgers) and then below average food. Loud bikers love the joint so it was noisy. Great location though and cute decor can't make up for the facts though. Avoid.

We stopped here on our way back home. Thought the building was very cool. I had the chicken fried steak with French fries. The steak was ok, not the best or worse I've ever had. Crust didn't stick to the meat and there was way too much of it. Fries were good. My honey had the super nachos. They were also ok. Waitress was nice and friendly, but the wait for the food seemed very long. For a one time experience, it was ok.

The two stars are for the cold beer and decent bar service. The food and dining room...a whoooollleeeee different story. I've been here three times. First time I was alone and sat by myself at the bar. I ordered a beer and I kid you not, it is cold cold cold and refreshing. I also ordered a half pound of peel and eat shrimp. These were ok...they didn't have any horseradish for the catsup they brought with the shrimp (catsup...not cocktail...kinda weird). Bartender was friendly and efficient. Second time was with the hubby and our 9 month old daughter so we obviously sat in the dining room. We went through the huge menu and decided to choose the oysters on the half shell. What the heck were we thinking?!?!?!?! Roswell and oysters?! I mean, we've had some pretty good ones in Lubbock so I had some hope. We asked where they were from and she goes "...on the shell...". Was funny, lol. We get the oysters and there's only 5 for $9.99...do what? Have you ever even heard of oysters being sold in 5s and not half dozen or dozens? We brought this up and she proclaimed that the chefs were busy thawing more in the back...aaaand this is where my husband and I get scared. Once again, no cocktail sauce just catsup...gross. Tried the oysters and it had to have been the worst oysters we've ever, ever had. I mean, we could not get the flavor or texture out of our mouths. To boot...we both ended up getting sick. When the hussy manager came over she said she'd go ahead and refund it for us. Um...cool, thanks a lot considering we didn't eat them...So our appetite was ruined on that one. Third time we knew better than to order food and just straight up got beers. Much better idea. Service was great in the bar area once again. So, go for the beers and full bar. DO NOT EAT THE FOOD!!!

Stopped in for a drink Nov 19, 2013. Place smells like a sewer. Seriously. Pool tables are warped. Drinks and service great - but shit stink is shit stink. Avoid at all costs.

So we are on a family vacation and decide to give Farley's a try. Big mistake. To keep this short and sweet, we walked in and it smelled like rotten food -- on top of it all, horrendous service. Won't be back.

Flies flies flies! We had to keep swatting the whole meal! And the service was slow. Choose elsewhere.

YES I read all the reviews on here and was making an effort to avoid this place but dammit, it's Sunday and there's no other sports bars around this town..AND the Heat-Thunder game was on! We first went to Rookie's but let's just say it was empty and quiet....so Farley's we went. Upon spotting it, it seemed like a place to be with it's pseudo retro sci-fi motif. Once you enter through their carousel entrance, the inside continues with that theme but it felt a bit nasty in there...it's that old bucket of water/beer smell and feel. Lots of seating, and as pointed out in a past review, there's never a host or hostess at the entrance whenever folks walked in...we headed straight to the bar. Good amount of TVs around to view the game but the stupid jukebox kept playing and playing and so the whole game was on silent mode the whole time...I know some sports bars do that but not really my preference and of course only stayed until halftime and went back to the hotel to watch the rest of the game and listen to the Miami crowd and sports commentary. As far as food, all the reviews are spot-on...their menu seemed tasty and varied but it's pretty average greasy fare. I already had disgusting moment one when I found a small smashed fly dried up on my menu grrooossss...but I was ok with just flicking it away..all good...I ordered the trio appetizer that had hot wings, pot stickers, and cheesesticks..again it was pretty good for non thinking eating while staring at the screen...got your usual Bud Lite and I'm sooo glad I didnt mindlessly drink it cause half way through disgusting moment #2 happened and I found a dead fly in my beer...ok NOW I was losing my thirst and appetite for a bit...I told the bartender and she gets PLUS points for actually giving me a new beer without charging me an additional beer (so yeah a star for that)...and speaking of flies, disgusting moment #3 has to be these wreckless mutant aggressive house flies at the bar that would NOT let up...OMG they would just run amock all over the bar and the more I thought about them and where they've been and seeing them land on all the alcohol containers and some people's food, the more I just completely wanted to get outta there...and hallelujah half time happened, paid my check, and went back to the comforts of the relatively more clean and sanitized hotel room. So what's the second star for? I guess it's for the novelty of it all...Farley's is one of those places that you can say you've been there done that if you ever visit Roswell rather than a place to go for their food...and although I'm sure when some games like the Super Bowl are on the bar area can be lively and actually have the game on, but from my impression of watching a game there to the caliber of the NBA finals and all I hear is retro 80s country music blaring from the jukebox, I was kind of over watching the game on mute. And ok if I could give it 2.5 stars, then that half star will be for me not getting sick and needing to vomit or diarrhea afterwards...my stomach actually was ok despite the disgusting moments...aliens, on the other hand, continue to be patrons of this restaurant.

I was scared to try it based on the reviews, but the exterior kept telling me to give it a shot. It really was a great place. My wife and I had an awesome experience. We went to catch a football game on tv. They were more than happy to change the channel on the televisions to accommodate us. The server was very attentive to our needs. The beer was selection was good. The food was good as far as bar food goes. It was everything I could want from a sports bar. I don't know what is with the bad reviews from others.

So. Um. Well if you have 3-4 hours for cold everyday food, THIS IS YOUR PLACE!!! We arrived with a party of 8 and were seated. Next thing a group of 50-60 kids showed up almost 35 minutes after we did. After another 45 minutes the group started getting their food, in waves. They served all of them and after they left we finally started to get ours in waves, COLD!! Don't waste your time. Go to Cowboy Cafe, great food, home cooked and honest service. AVOID FARLEYS!!!!!

  • Rose C.

Terrible slow service. Mostly burnt food. We were sat at a dirty table, mentioned it, had the previous occupants crumbs brushed onto our laps. Ordered three burgers at lunch time. Watched 4 tables of 4 people or more get seated, order, eat, and leave before we got our burnt burgers and cold fries. No refills on our drinks. When we brought this up to the manager he shrugged his shoulders and said sorry. Felt like he was a mouthy teenager than a manager. Will never go again. Will always advise against this place.

  • Kelly H.

Would have been one star, but the food was pretty good. This place was covered in flies. It was disgusting. Asked our waiter if that was normal and was told they didn't get a chance to spray that day due to it being busy. I don't mind a couple flies but when we got our food the flies swarmed it. We ended up asking for to go boxes and leaving. Unlike the other reviews though our server was decent as was the food. Also, the band they had really was not good but I know that doesn't really have anything to do with the restaurant quality, but it just added on to the not so good experience.

I came here after a girl at the UFO museum recommended it, it wasn't until I was there that I read the bad reviews on Yelp. I sat at the bar and ordered a Shiner which was perfect. I then ordered the Jack Rabbit Droppings(chicken cheese and chiles in a ball deep fried) which were awesome, left me wanting more. Then I had the Turkey Jack I believe it was called pretty much a Turkey club with pepper jack cheese, and it was great as well. I would give this place a 4 but I checked to see if they had WIFI and they did and I tried to connect, to go online and look for more attractions to check out in town and it didn't work and I asked the bartender if there was any trick to it. She told me she would go ask a manager and she never returned with any answers.

We stopped here just passing through town. I also don't know why there are so many bad reviews. My favorites were the pizza and the onion rings. We also got the pastrami sandwich and chicken w jalapeños and avocado which were both fine to me. I'd say it's definitely worth checking out if your looking for a local spot that's not a chain restaurant.

Service was indeed spotty and steer clear of the tasteless Farley Blue margarita, but the Turkey Jack was great.

Me and my friends were driving back to Lubbock, TX and decided to eat at Farleys. We experienced awful service. The restaurant bar was not even busy. It took us an hour to receive our food. We did not even receive our appetizers until we receive our food which was cold. I had to ask for my salad which they forgot. We also when up to get our own silverware and napkins. Our double bueno burger didn't even have green chile on there. After seeing numerous of customers that came after us being served earlier than us, we complain to the manager and she accommodated us with 0.75 cents for the green chiles. There is clearly an issue with service with this place because yelp customers are saying the exact thing. Needless to say I don't think we will be going back here again.

Avoid this place like the plague. It took over 5 mintues just to get a someone to ask if we needed a seat. Another 15 mintues to get a server, a horrible one at that. We ordered drinks and then an app. The app came out after twenty minutes. Another ten minutes to tell the douche server that we didn't have drinks to go with the app. He came back 5 mintues, slammed down the drinks, I slammed down 10 bucks, gave him the finger and walked out. If you want to eat, go somewhere else.

First off my margarita was wrong.Appetizer jack rabbit droppings was good but overpriced for the quantity. The ASM sandwich I ordered was super bland and didn't come with the pickle it was supposed to. When we ordered the Appetizer we told the waitress we were still deciding on entrees. She proceeded to stand at the table making recommendations until I finally just said we need more time. Then she came back to take our order and still hadn't started the Appetizer order... Luckily it wasn't overlooked completely.

This Farley's is less than 5 minutes from my grandparents so we go here sometimes. The food is OK, honestly the Farleys in Ruidoso is much better. But, I will have to say the service here is always great. And you can never go wrong at the bar. I've gone a few times this trip to Roswell, always for drinks tho. Our waitress that I had 2 of the 3 times was Angie. She is pretty kick ass, she recommended us some good drinks and made sure we were having a good time (the 3 stars are for her service) . The last time we all went in Zach Ward was sitting at the table behind us (he played the bully in A Christmas Story). So we got to meet him and take our picture with him.

We recently took a trip through AZ and NM. Naturally, we had to eat. This place was recommended, and right across the street from our motel. We should have driven further! We both got the special for the night, all you could eat pork ribs for $12.99! It was a great price, and included bread, coleslaw and french fries....the greatness ended with the price. Our waitress didn't want to be there. She was inattentive and not too friendly. The meal took a long time to get, considering the place only had about three or four couples, and for all intent and purposes, was dead! My ribs came from warm to cold, but I didn't know it at first, because one little rib on the top of the rack was actually hot! My wife said hers was okay. We also ordered an appetizer, Green chili won tons, stuffed with cheese and chicken. They were okay, but came after the main course. We were never asked if we wanted seconds on the ribs. I would have considered a higher rating if the service was better and the food warm to hot. Cold ribs are not on my menu. I'd think twice before recommending this place at this location to anyone. Perhaps the Farley's at other locations could be better.

Why did I eat here? Oh god, why? I was looking for a place to eat and I saw the classic Sci Fi theme so I went in and the place does look cool. I did not want to have a conversation with a waitress though. I did not want the waitress look at me while I decide on a tip. Lastly I did not want to wonder what part of my body the food would come out of in an hour. I would not recomend this place.

Don't go here. Had my LEGAL, over 21 drivers license turned down because it was in vertical format. They said it was company policy and management wouldn't run my ID to see if it was valid. After that I just got up and left.

We Yelped this place after reading some reviews. It was a mild, breezy night with lightning flashes but no rain, so we decided to eat on the patio since it was so loud and crowded inside. Our waitress, who took forever to take our order, was unprofessional (and rather ghetto when yelling at restaurant security that a guest had not paid his tab) and slow with our order. It was incorrect too. I had asked for cole slaw instead of fries, but she gave me both. Normally I wouldn't complain, but we were already in a crabby mood because of the shotty service from our waitress, so I had to mention this. Farley's has become my wife and I's new standard for crappy restaurant service. It's an inside joke whenever we mention Farley's.

The worst service by far.. Sat down within 10 minutes but then sat in the booth for 15 minutes before asking someone if we had a Waiter they retured about 6 minuites later to get our order. 10 minutes to get 2 waters 2 dr peppers and 25 minutes to get the Margarita I ordered which was all syrup... Food came after we had been sitting in the booth 1 hour. Not hot it was warm, fries cold. The worst place to go if visiting Roswell. I have been to other farleys and they know how to take care of their customers.

NEVER again! This place is beyond horrible so keep on driving. I should have paid waaay more attention to the overall cleanliness when we first arrived, that would've saved me from wasting my money here. Sticky tables and floors greeted us along with a dirty menu with ketchup on it. My daughter ordered a hamburger that tasted rancid. After taking a small bite I agreed and told the waitress that the hamburger meat did not taste right. She looked at me like I was crazy or trying to pull one over on her. She didnt apologize, offer a different suggestion, or credit the bill. She was rude and couldve cared less that the "restaurant" may be serving spoiled meat. She just stood there. I finally said, "can you take this off the bill? " She said she'd have to check. The rest of the meals were generic, cold, and tasteless. She finally comped the hamburger (shock!) after about a 30 minute wait. We ended up taking my daughter to McDonald's to eat. By the way, my daughter attends NMMI across the street. She said she has heard of shootings at Farley's. Nice place. (sarcasm) Her friend actually found a bullet in the parking lot. Avoid, unless you want to waste your money, be treated rudely, eat in a filthy environment, and possibly contract a really bad case of food poisoning. NASTY!

I am surprised by all the bad reviews. Stopped here on a road trip. It was New Years Day and one of the few restaurants in town open. After being seated I read all the negative reviews on yelp, I thought "uh oh, this may be terrible". I was pleasantly surprised that our waitress took our appetizer and drink order right away. We ordered onion rings, they were pretty good. I had the chili dog, my sons had fried catfish. The food came out hot, service was quick, i have no complaints.

Top 5 worst restaurant experience. Beer prices for happy hour/ Monday night football were ok. Staff looked liked a L.A. County jail relocation program. Food was sub par. Don't get the "basket of onion rings" came cold and nasty with a side of ranch and some French fry remnants and I think a piece of chicken fingers...basically a breaded fried mess that had some strings of onions mixed in. Make you own salad w/5 toppings was ok, but had to play twenty questions with the waitress to figure out what the choices were. Pizza could have been good if the order was right. Margarita lacked any booze what so ever. Joke of a cocktail. In addition, no plates or silverware until requested. This is a beer bar with some jacked up TV's for sports nothing more nothing less.

I come through Roswell quite a bit and this is the worst place I have ever been. I have been in there about 7 times because they have a good beer selection. But every single time the bartender takes around 30 minutes to notice I am there. Then when I flag her over, she yells at me that she's really busy? When I order a beer, it takes her 20 minutes to bring it and it's usually not full. The food is the worst food I have ever had. I ordered a burger and it took over an hour to come out. When it arrived it was cold and undercooked. I took one bite and instantly spit it back out into my napkin. I sent it back and the bartender rolled her eyes at me. It took another 45 minutes for the burger to come back out and this time it was even worse. I told the bartender I could not eat it and she said "too bad for you" and walked off. I then put a 10 dollar bill on the bar and left. It was the most horrible experience ever. I suggest you NEVER go to this travesty of a place. It also attracts the most corrupt looking and thuggish element I've ever seen. Like prisoners were just released from the state Penn and decided to come to Farley's first thing.

One of the worst meals and experiences I've ever had. The service was terrible. We had to call our server over numerous times for drink refills and to even take our order, which was not delivered correctly. My nephew was almost finished with his calzone by the time we all received our meals. My Sisters Hot Pastrami was advertised as "piled high", but it only had a meager 3 pieces of thin slices on it. Her french fries were cold and soggy and when she requested a replacement of her fries, she received another serving of soggy fries. My other nephew ordered a double order of Mac and Cheese and only received a single order. They took his plate away and re-did the order, but it came by the time the rest of us were finished with our meals. When we spoke with the manager, he confirmed that the Pastrami sandwich was not served with the proper amount of Pastrami and offered to take the sandwich off of the bill and to make a proper sandwich. We declined the remake of the sandwich, but when the bill came, we were charged for the Pastrami and had to wait an additional 5-10 minutes for them to re-figure our bill. I won't be visiting Farley's ever again.....

Grub and suds. Mellow crowd and a loud atmosphere. Not sure why some folks are being so hard on this place. I was waited on quickly, my food was good greasy pub food which is exactly what I expected. I had the Farley's Favorite burger and the Jack Rabbit Droppings. They had a small selection of craft beers on tap as well. Hard to find something to complain about although it appears some disagree.

My family went to this place when we were in town visiting. We wanted something than Applebees or Chilis so we tried Farleys. Big mistake. Horrible tasting food. Meals arrived in gaps. Servers were inattentive. Horrible service. We were in the area because I was relocating nearby. Well come to find out, almost all restaurants in Roswell have the worst customers service Ive ever seen. The Mexican places are way better but still not what we are accustomed to. A friend went by recently and he shared his horrible experience. He took a bite out of his burger, was charred, not well done, charred. He sent it back, cancelled all other orders after being in there an hour. Manager refused to remove the burger from the ticket.

I'll start by saying that I'm sad to see such low ratings for this awesomelly delicious and creatively decorated restaurant. My boyfriend and I were driving thru Roswell and decided to stop in for an early dinner. The place is huge with a few nice seating options: bar, booth, or table. We both ordered drinks off the happy hour menu, which were strong and refreshing after driving thru the desert all day! To eat, we started with their chips and salsa (spicy but Delish) . For our entrees I ordered a great tasting spicy buffalo grilled chicken sandwich, and my boyfriend had a turkey sandwich-both piping hot when they were brought out. Although I did sense a slight snobbery in the staff (as other people said in previous reviews), our waiter was friendly and nice - we had nothing negative to say about his customer service. It seems like this would be a great place to watch a game, grab some good, well priced food, and enjoy the AC to beat that dry heat outside!

Passing through Roswell on a road trip and stopped in to Farley's for a drink. We had asked our hotel receptionist for dinner recommendations and his answer was, "It's Roswell" ... thanks. We were looking for some insightful advice. Left to our devices we were torn between Farley's and the Cattle Baron. Wanting something a little more casual, we put our eggs in the Farley's basket, figuring, at worst, we'd have a drink then head to the Baron's. From the outside, it looked pleasant enough, new building, plenty of cars in the lot, good outlook for a Saturday night. The inside was kinda like a rock and roll bar and grill I suppose. Juke Box was definitely loud and cranking out an unusual array of songs, from Garth Brooks to Soft Cell. But it was lively and had a young crowd gearing up for the night so we sat down at the bar for our one drink. Some microbrews on tap. I chose something with an alien name, when in Roswell... Plenty of tv's covering every sport possible, including a broadcast of our San Diego Padres. We intermittently played trivia and watched baseball. One beer turned into three as we cheered our team to victory (maybe we should watch more games from Roswell). We left in smiles, half tempted to stay for some onion rings, they looked goooood.

Oh my! This place is a disaster! After driving 12 hours to get to Roswell, we were starving and ready to eat anything. Thinking we were going to get some real food, we went to Farley's right across from the Days Inn where we were staying. Ordered a couple drinks, a pizza and buffalo chicken sandwich. We waited a while for the food, but the menu was an interesting read. After at least a half hour, I got my burnt pizza. The waitress must have known it was burnt, because she never came back to check on us, so I just ate what I could. Then she came with the check. We were exhausted and just needed a good nights sleep, so we gave her the card and when she came back she pointed out the fly in my boyfriend's drink, which was already partially drank and timidly offered us another drink. By this point, all we wanted was out of this place. Terrible.

I've been back to this place several times in the past year. Service and the food has changed in a bad way. The servers have been abrupt, like they have something else better to do. Two of the past three times there was something wrong with one of the meals ordered. I've been there three times in the past three months and there was ALWAYS something that was less than average. I won't be coming back to Farley's for a loooong time. 2008 - Went there for lunch with a friend. Very bright and open restaurant with a unique decor. Quite a few families were there when we stopped. There's a full bar, which I didn't parttake (yeah, hard to believe). My friend ordered a chicken sandwich, I had one of their specialty cheeseburgers and we split a basket of onion rings. The onion rings were VERY good; probably the best I've ever had. Each of us thought our sandwich was terrific. The waitress was fun, friendly and attentive. This would probably be a good place for happy hour. Maybe to watch some sporting event with all the televisions around the restaurant.

Upon entering the place looked a bit scary, bird droppings on front porch and we had to wait to even be acknowledged, almost walked out. Finally got seated and waiter was very attentive and made sure we were taken care of. Chips and salsa was very good, salsa had a good heat to it, very tasty! I ordered a turkey sandwich which was very hot and had tons of meat, very good and definitely worth the $7. Husband got the chicken sandwich which looked like the size of a burger and he was very pleased. Son got a kids pizza with beef topping and it was huge for a kids pizza, asked to make sure that it was and was told yes and that the chef didn't want to waste all the extra beef so he piled it on, so there was plenty of yumminess in that pizza enough for dinner as well. Was told that kids menu is actually same size as regular menu like the burgers and pizza but way cheaper, great deal! Would try this place again when in town.

The travel guide review that we read on this place stated that it was a place "where people threw peanut shells on the floor and screamed at the TV". It sounded interesting so we went. There wasn't much screaming at the TVs (which is what we were most looking forward to) but there were huge sacks of peanuts from which you could help yourself and then chuck the shells. If you don't have a maid (I don't) and want to simulate what it'll be like when you are old and don't have too much control over things it's kind of fun. Our favorite part of the meal was the shrimp appetizer...1 lb of shrimp on ice! I had a sauce-less basil pizza and my date had a salad. Sort of boring but it tasted good. Overall the food appears to have the "step up from pub grub" theme although there is plenty of pub group to go around. There's a huge patio where you can sit and enjoy the Roswell evening and keep your eye on the sky for any "visitors". Ours ended up being a drunk guy named Dave from Houston but your mileage may vary.

We were driving through Roswell and decided that Farley's looked like an interesting place to eat. Unfortunately I was sorely disappointed when our waitress did not seem interested in serving us at all. It took a long time for the food to come and it didn't all come at the same time, my plate didn't come out at all and when we asked the waitress about it she said that it was stolen and that they could make another one really quick. Well everyone one else finished their meal and it still hadn't gotten there so I just told the waitress to forget about it and we left. I do not recommend that anyone go there if they expect timely service. If I could take stars away I would but I can only list them with 1 star.

What a waste of money and time....do not expect service, good food, or anything that was deep fried more recently than 45 minutes ago.....the french fries were soggy and cold and the icing on the cake was two pieces of chedar cheese melted over a fish stick that was deemed their fish sandwitch....don' t go hungry or thirsty....your desires will not be met.....your odds are better at one of three Sonic's down the road...

Okay so I understand what the rest of the reviews are talking about. We are passing through on our way to Texas and are staying the night. I wanted something a little touristy and since nothing else was open this was the best option (despite the dismal reviews) The service did take a bit longer than you would probably want but the food was good. The beer was a little off but not horrible. Our waitress, Jessica, was great! I think the biggest issue is the kitchen. We were seated near them and it didn't sound like much was getting done back there. My sister's chicken alfredo came with hardly any sauce and when the waitress tried to get more they said they had to make it and just never did. The building is nice and clean and definitely has potential! I hope management will make some adjustments so that they can live up to their full potential!

    (3)
  • Kelly B.

Servce out of the kitchen was horrible. I guarantee we waited close to 30 minutes for our food. When the food came out it was spotty. Quesadilla entree first, ten minutes later a BBQ sandwich and a minute after that shrimp. My BBQ sandwich was not good. The BBQ sauce was so strong it literally upset my stomach. The other items were. I am avoiding this place if in town again.

  • Mackenzie C.

Ok, so this place is alright.... It has a lot of potential, though it's not living up to what it could be. The food is eatable and the building is clean with quirky "alien" theme and it wasn't horrible. My dad, sister, and I all are here after being on the road since yesterday morning and we wanted to eat at a quirky Roswell restaurant because we were here and thought we might as well should. We saw the terrible reviews but risked coming anyway and well... Like I said: It wasn't horrible. Our server, Jessica, was on top of it. She was very nice and did her job as well as she could. She even saw that my Alfredo was looking dry and offered to get me a side of sauce to help me out without me having to ask first. I have a sneaking feeling that the kitchen staff gives the wait staff a hard time regularly. I don't know this for sure but from our experience they were being loud and obnoxious our entire dinner and when Jessica asked for the side of Alfredo they gave her some lame excuse as to why they couldn't do it. Overall it was an unremarkable experience that could have been so much better under different circumstances.

I am only giving this establishment 1 star because zero is not an option. I arrived at 2:00 for a late lunch. I waiting several minutes to be greeted. I asked the hostess if the bar area was seat yourself. He paused and said he didn't know but would find out. I watched him walk into the restroom instead of asking someone. I proceeded to wait until a server came up and ask if I had been helped. I seated myself in the bar and did not receive any service after 5 more minutes I left. I will never be back.

While driving through Roswell we were starving so we decided to have dinner here. When we entered the restaurant we were seated quickly and our waitress took our order right away. We bought an order of cheese sticks, a burger as well as a buffalo chicken sandwich. All of the items were great and the only true complaint we had was that the restaurant was extremely cold. The atmosphere here was really cool and we enjoyed the interesting space ships on the ceiling as well as the other unique decor. In the end, this was a great place to have dinner and the prices were fairly reasonable.

Big group came in because apparently it's one of the few places with a bar. Slow to get us our drinks and didn't know much about the drinks they serve. It seems like other people at the bar were getting better service. Anyway the bar tender was friendly. We left after one drink.

Had not been here in a while. Decide to try it out, even after checking out the reviews. Was given a seat pretty fast and the waiter came to the table quickly. The waiter irritated me by sitting a foot away from my wife and he always seemed to touch my chair when he came by. I ordered a Smokey Bear burger. When I got the burger, I thought they forgot the BBQ sauce cause I couldn't see any of it and could not taste it. I told the waiter and asked for some BBQ sauce. He gave me the sauce and informed me the cooks baste the burger in the sauce. That was interesting since the burger tasted plain and unseasoned. The biggest thing that pissed me off was the dam flies landing on me while I was there. Other then that no other complaints.

This is our second year to eat at Farleys while headed through town. The first time, our waitress was taken out on a stretcher for being wasted at work. After that it was fair. We came back this year, and again sat outside, because they allow dogs on the patio (which is why we go). This trip the patio was infested with flies. Our appetizer took a while to come out. Finally after speaking with a manager over an hour after we had been there, he assured me the food would be out soon. We got half of the food out, and one I'm the burgers was rare, and ordered medium well. Needless to say we gave up on this place. Don't do it!

Sunday afternoon, looks like a good place to go. I was already in a hurry up mode with my little one wanting attention. Seated, promptly. Next, we wait. About 3-5 minutes and our server made it to our table. I requested some crackers and water ASAP for the little one. She said no problem and that she'd get the rest of the drinks upon her return, no wait, I can get them now. Teas, and water. After another 3-5 minutes, drinks and crackers, but I think the little one has already reached her point of sociability. Mom has stepped out with her. My 6 yr old daughter and I start watching videos on the phone as we wait to place our order. Two July 4 fireworks videos and a swimming pool video (about 10 minutes total) and we finally get to place the order. Mom is still outside with "tinkerbell". I decide to start the stopwatch on my phone. I don't do that very often. I'm glad I did. Mom has returned and we attempt to have "tinkerbell" eat some crackers, sip some water, watch videos, etc. Mind you, she is not causing a scene, just being a 1 yr old who is hungry. After I notice that two tables near us have food and they were seated WAAY after we were, I checked the stopwatch to see it at 29:00 minutes. I go search for a manager. She attempts to say they will get right on it, but excuses the problem with she didn't know when the tickets were put into the kitchen. At the 34:00 mark, "tinkerbell" and dad (me) have had all we can stand. I look for a server, front desk person, or manager to no avail, to let them know we would not need our order and how much was our Teas and Water? I waited about 1 minute and then headed out in search of sustenence some where else.

Very slow service. Took over 7 mins before a server arrived, and they weren't busy. Food was mediocre, and the pizza was undercooked. The one redemption was the Santa Fe brewing IPA on tap, which would be the only thing worth ordering

  • Brian R.

I sat at the bar. Was asked what I wanted fairly quickly, but from there the service went downhill. The bartender was very overwhelmed and spent more time typing away on the screen used to charge customers, rather than taking care of the customers. Now, that may not be her fault and simply an unfriendly pos system. She then was bombarded by orders from tables, reducing her ability to provide service to the bar patrons. Beyond that, the inside of the location was well lit, clean, and spacious. The outside looks like it needs a wash and a coat of paint. The beer was cold and the food was good. Had quesadillas and a basket of onion rings. The quesadillas were very good.

Came in for dinner, wasn't acknowledged by anyone, so I went to the bar. I ordered a Gin Martini, and the bartender wasn't sure how to make that. He was nice though. It was the most watered down martini ever!! I left after that. I would rather rather eat at Friday's. This is a terrible place!!

Wow really??? It's been 10 minutes and still no drink. It's as if the staff are either all dressed in really good camouflage or they are outside smoking weed with their finger in their anus. Ridiculous!

Two stars definitely appropriate, food and service subpar. Don't waste your money on the jukebox either; you can't hear it (we asked to have it turned up but our request was ignored). I would only come to this place if you wanted a drink (or two).

Let me start by saying this place is what it is. It's a bar first and then a restaurant. Food was pretty good. I agree with others that it would be a fun place to catch a game. Tried the rabbit droppings. Good but really small portion. Had the fish and chips. Good was all good. Wait staff was really nice, but it was a slower night. Be your own judge but remember what you are walking into.

I didn't like what I ordered; Santa Fe salad. Maybe Santa Fe means something different when you are actually in New Mexico. I got a fried tortilla bowl with fajita style onions and peppers served with chicken on top. It probably would have been better with chips. But still I was in the mood for a salad. I gave them three stars because perhaps I should have read the menu better.

I went there with my service dog Milo, during a stop on a long trip and I couldn't have asked for better service. The staff was very welcoming and loved Milo! They gave him a little water :) The food was great. I had a burger/patty melt with sweet potato fries. If I drive back that way I will have to stop in :)

Wow most disappointing restaurant experience of my life. We drove by this place on our way into town, looked great, going to have a few drinks and dinner there later. 5 hours of anticipation and we went in at 1900, 730 We were seated right away, we looked at menus, decided we were gonna order pizza, read the highly entertaining back of the menu, watched the rest've the UFC fight, at this point it was 815, and no one had taken our drink order yet. So we got up, dropped out menus off at the front and drove down the road to red lobster, amazingly they had our drinks, including alcoholic ones to the table in under 5 mins. Next time I consider farleys I'll eat at McDonald's the service is far better. Called back later to let them know we'd left and they seemed very unsurprised, they're aware their service is terrible... They just don't care...

    (1)

Just got here and she already got our drink order wrong and forgot to give us menus.. BTW they are gross covered with old coke.

There is a smell. The service is good. Our server was very attentive. The food was good. Try El Chingon pizza. Order the Alien Amber. The video games don't work, which was a disappointment for my son. There are pool tables to enjoy as well as many screen TVs.

We were sat and our drink orders were taken. Shortly after this, a manager came by to tell us that they were showing a fight that night, and that anyone still in the restaurant at 7:30 (we arrived at 7:00) would be charged $5.00 a head, even if they weren't seeing the fight. We were angry about this, because it would add an extra $30 to our meal, and they were even going to charge the $5.00 for my niece (8 years old) who came with us. We found it incredibly innapropriate for them to try to charge us $30 on top of whatever we would order just because THEY decided to show the fight. We were passing through and stopped by for a family dinner, and we're met with rudeness and hostility. We felt they should have warned us before they sat us (ESPECIALLY SEEING AS WE HAD A CHILD WITH US) which they did not do, and instead waited until after we got our drinks and we're ready to order. Don't go to this place. The staff is rude, and they do not care about their customers. Go to the restaurant down the street instead: Peppers. They are a nice Quaint place, have nicer servers and MUCH faster service. Plus, they actually care about their customers, unlike Farleys. Don't come here. You will not be treated with respect.

We loved their food! Portions are huge (especially the burgers), posole is just awesome? Grilled patty was truly good, excellent fries. Don't really understand the bad reviews. I would suggest to try it. Joey was our server, I ask to be served in the patio since we had our 2 labs and we didn't want to leave them in the car. They were very accommodating, courteous, friendly and fast. Again don't understand the bad reviews

Burger was over cooked and dry. Prepared in the wrong way. Penne pasta was super cold. Potato skins were dry and over cooked. Kids grilled cheese didn't arrive until after the whole party finished their meals. Whisky sour was decent though, so they got that going for them.

TL; DR version - Believe the reviews. The service is horrible. My wife, son and I were in Roswell as part of a Spring Break trip. After driving to the hotel and seeing some of the places available, we looked at Yelp for reviews. We narrowed it down to two places and decided on Farley's because of the mentions of the UFO decor - wanted something with a little local flair. We arrived, were seated and then promptly ignored. It was about 5-10 minutes until someone came by to acknowledge us and take a drink order. After that, it was another 10 minutes until the drinks came (two glasses of water and a Dr. Pepper) and our food order was taken. After waiting about 20 minutes for our food (ribs, a pizza and a salad), it finally arrived. Unfortunately, dressing didn't arrive with the salad. And it didn't arrive until the 4th time that we asked for it. I was on the verge of going back into the kitchen myself and dishing some out. So, after waiting another 15 minutes, my wife was ready to eat her salad. When a waiter from another table is asking if you are needing something, you know that there is a problem with the overall service. I did notice that the check came out quickly. Food - meh. It wasn't anything terrific but it didn't suck either. Portions were pretty good sized and the food arrived warm. Decor - well.... We were hoping for more based on some of the reviews we read. It pretty much came down to a couple of "spaceships" on the ceiling and some round "space looking" discs on the wall. So, if you're in Roswell, looking for some mediocre food and are willing to put up with practically non-existent service, stop right in.

Food is good, but to me the appetizers are better than the good. Best meal to me is the double bueno! Sometimes it gets hectic, but service is ok! Wing night on MODAYS IS A MAD HOUSE!!! Drinks are good, have a large selection of beers! Pretty chill atmosphere sometimes! Lot of locals and have a section for family!

My family and I were passing through town while on vacation. We wanted to watch the football game and the hotel clerk suggested that we try this place. Once we got there, the hostess directed us to a table near the bar which was fine, but it only had three chairs. Considering there were four of us, we obviously needed one more chair. Well the table next to us had six chairs around it and only one guy was sitting there. My wife asked him if we could have one of the chairs and he rudely motioned for her to take it. As my young teenage son was moving it, another guy came rushing up with his fists clinched. He yelled at my son, "What's the problem!" My wife explained that we were just taking an empty chair so we could all sit at the table. My son and young daughter were now scared. We didn't feel comfortable sitting near this guy so we told the waiter that we'd like to move. He told us that there were no other open tables. When I told him we were leaving he gave us a bit of attitude. I'm giving a 1 star rating due to the poor attitude of the staff, and if this is the type of patron they this place attracts, then it's certainly not a family friendly environment.

Like most out of towners this place seemed, from the outside, the best place to stop due to the crowd and open later than most establishments. However, it was a huge disappointment for many reasons. Problem 1: too few wait staff for the number of tables Problem 2: completely inexperienced wait staff (in my experience, not to dismiss the other staff that might have been better) Problem 3: I ordered a 1554 beer and got the Black and Tan instead. Problem 4: being lactose intolerant, I asked for no cheese. The sweet waiter wrote it down. Yet, the meal came loaded with cheese. Problem 5: after asking for the check, it took the waiter twenty minutes to bring it (not in itself a bad sign since it was busy, but we saw the waiter retrace his steps multiple times after noticing us still waiting after having asked) Also the food was only mediocre. At best.

Hit or miss. Sometimes we get great service, and a few times we've been ignored to the point of leaving. Some advice, if you're coming for a quick meal, go somewhere else. Coming in for a drink, head straight to the bar. The kitchen is beyond loud, the drunks can't get a bit annoying. Oh and don't get me started on the parking lot. Haha.

A thorough disappointment; as at least one other reviewer has stated, I'd give it zero stars if I could. After being seated, our server was not to be found, so I went up to the bar to attempt to order a beer. It was maybe half full and everyone seated there already had drinks, yet it still took the three bartenders over five minutes to get me a single beer. I closed out there and returned to my table, where my effort a few minutes later to order food proved to be entirely futile. Wings were (supposedly) on special, so I ordered some after again getting up from my table to find my server and place an order. Once they arrived, the sauce was mediocre at best, and the wings themselves were overcooked and dripping with grease--the latter is possibly to be expected to some extent with wings, but in this case it was absolutely excessive. I had to get up from my table a third time in order to pay my bill so I could leave this pathetic semblance of a restaurant. Despite wings being on special for $0.59, which I had confirmed before placing the order, my server not only rung up my order of ten at $10 (it should have been $5.90 plus tax and tip), but also tried to tell me that the way she had put the order in was somehow ultimately cheaper for me. I again verified that they were a special that evening, yet this thoroughly incompetent individual still would not adjust my ticket. I was already sufficiently fed up with the atmosphere of this place, so I paid anyway and was on my way. You'd honestly be better off going to any of the numerous chain restaurants or fast food joints nearby.

The food was crappy. I only had one dish, the potato skins, and for bar food it even sucked. But the waitress was a nightmare! I think her name was Kelli, but how would I know. She never introduced herself. She was rude the whole time, ignored us, didn't answer when we asked questions, didn't bring any utensils, etc. Litter ally just dropped my plate in front of me and walked away. My hubs asked "What kind of good local beers do you have?" And she replied "None. what do you want." I would never go back. I can't believe I paid for that experience. After reading the other reviews (unfortunately AFTER we went here) I cannot BELIEVE the management allows this rude service to continue. They must be trying to run this place into the ground. Great decor. Appealing from the outside. But just hateful staff. WTH?

All my buddies order sandwiches and said they were great. I unfortunately ordered wings since it was wing night. The wings came out 10 minutes after everything else so I was expecting some dope ass wings. Nope. Mother were breaded, overly sauced and cold. Pretty bad for being on special. So glad it was only 59 cents a wing.

I had to hunt down a waitress after sitting for quite some time... Not even a "hello, can I get you water". Food was ok, but nothing special. Then I had to ask twice for the check. Just go to MacDonalds... Cheaper, better service, and the food is about the same.

From here but don't live here anymore, came here because at one time it was good. Today's service was awful. The food was not good, you can taste the bad grease. They don't have a drink menu! The "specials" was only one beer on tap! My margarita was like sweet n sour juice on rocks with salt. Our refills took like 8 minutes with maybe 4 other tables. When asked about good drinks or food , no recommendations. Overall not satisfied! I guess that is what happens when a new competitor opens down the street.

  • Chris G.

  • Wes T.

So we are on a family vacation and decide to give Farley's a try. Big mistake. To keep this short and sweet, we walked in and it smelled like rotten food -- on top of it all, horrendous service. Won't be back.

So.

  • Sam B.

Big group came in because apparently it's one of the few places with a bar. Slow to get us our drinks and didn't know much about the drinks they serve. It seems like other people at the bar were getting better service. Anyway the bar tender was friendly. We left after one drink.

    (2)
  • Jeffery S.

  • Brian S.

  • Daryl B.

  • Joel p.

Ridiculous!

  • Samuel R.

Two stars definitely appropriate, food and service subpar. Don't waste your money on the jukebox either; you can't hear it (we asked to have it turned up but our request was ignored). I would only come to this place if you wanted a drink (or two).

Haha.

Food was good had the quesadillas. Ribs were good too. Good service and fast seating. Had an issue with the order being messed up but it was taken off the ticket.

Not very impressed, our order was messed up and one in our group didn't get their meal until everyone else was done eating. I got a burger ordered medium came out well done. All in all not terrible but probably wouldn't go back,.

I had to give it one star because I couldn't give it none. Food is awful, service worse, as another reviewer put it, go to McDonalds... The face of Roswell folks.

Not impressed with the service or the food would not come back. Bummer, fun atmosphere.
