This place was ok. Nothing special. I ordered the 1/4 lb brisket and a 1/4 lb pulled pork. Brisket was tougher than I like, not super dry but not juicy like I prefer. Pulled pork was like typical pulled pork. Sauce, I would have to agree with a prior review, watery, sweet side, had to doctor it up with the hot sauce on the table. A little pricey. Someone compared this to Rudy's BBQ, I must say, not even close. In comparison, I would have to say it's really close to Dickey's BBQ. At best. End result, it filled me up, it's better than McDonald's, and I would go back to try something different.

This is some lip-licking good, melt-in-your-mouth BBQ. My husband and I took a wrong turn headed home from Colorado and happened upon this small, unassuming BBQ spot. And we are so glad we did! This is as fast food as BBQ can get. We ordered at the counter and our food was put together in front of us. We got half pounds of both the pork and beef brisket. The pork was good but could not compare to the marbled beef brisket, which was DELICIOUS and melted in our mouths. Copious amounts of BBQ sauce and napkins are available at each table. Get over here and enjoy!

I don't think you should even call this bbq. Dry and cold with a very limited and expensive menu.

Pretty darn good for fast food! One of the best pulled pork sandwiches I've had. The cherry-chipotle salsa complimented the pork well. Will definitely be back!

I wish I could give it 10 STARS!!! YES! It's THAT GOOD!!! We LOVE Serious Texas BBQ!!! The meat is always tender, juicy, and has a GREAT smoked flavor. And the PORTIONS!!! OMG! They are HUGH!!.....ESPECIALLY compared to DICKY's BBQ. We eat they at least twice a week now, since we've tried it!! Have never had a bad experience. It's our ABSOLUTE FAVORITE in Farmington! Even better than we found in the South, where we just moved from

Very good food and reasonably priced!!! In town for work from Phoenix and Briskets are very good compared to Rudy's in Goodyear AZ these are much more tender and the price much better as well!

It was Saturday, we just got back from a drive out to the Four Corners Monument which was a great drive and I was looking forward to some good BBQ for Lunch. We arrived around 12:30p and it wasn't crowded at all. When you walk in, there is a small little station that looks like you wait to be seated. Don't wait, walk around and you will then see the counter where you can place your order. For BBQ to be good, you need a good pit master that understands when the meat is ready. But a great pit master can be done in by servers that don't know what they are doing and don't understand when meat is past it's prime and should not be served. The kids behind the counter had no idea what they were serving. All they could do was cut the meat and weigh it. The test for any Texas style BBQ is the brisket. So we ordered a brisket sandwich and 1/4 pound of brisket along with 1/4 lb of sausage. The brisket was dry, crunchy and over cooked. While not quite jerky it was close. The sausage was, as they say, nothing to write home about. The Sweet Tea was good but not great. At least it was reasonably fresh. No lemonade so I couldn't make an Arnold Palmer. The BBQ sauce on the table was on the sweet side with very little spice and watery. I was able to liven it up a bit mixing in some pepper sauce available by the drinks. But that couldn't overcome the poor quality of Brisket. For desert was Peach cobbler with Blue Bells vanilla ice cream. The cobbler comes smashed in a styrofoam cup and then a scoop of ice cream dumped on top. The desert is served with your meal so you either rush your meal or you really have cobbler with cream on top. They should have offered the option to get the desert later. The cobbler was, as my guest remarked, unremarkable. The only bright spot was the side of cheesy mash potatoes also smashed into the same Styrofoam cup They were tasty. You may have a great meal when you visit, but if Serious BBQ can't consistently serve seriously good BBQ every time, then seriously, they owners have a problem. Until they can fix their quality problem, give this place a pass.

I had two breakfast tacos and a coffee for a very reasonable $7.50. They use a flour tortilla and put your choice of meat (I had one brisket and one pulled pork) along with eggs, potatoes and optional jalapenos. The portions are very generous, if you don't like black pepper you will not like the eggs as they seem to have a lot of pepper in them (which I like). The brisket was very good, but I didn't like the pork as much. They give you sides of salsa and sour cream - I don't believe you can get red or green chile which is a shame, but their BBQ sauce on the tables is very good and so I just used a whole bunch of that.

This place was delicious. I will be back for some more of that sauce! Great environment. Good location.

Delicious, huge chunks of brisket cooked to crispy-edged perfection, funny, friendly counter help, and a dog friendly patio, what else could we ask for? The sauce is tasty, vinegary, on the thin side and slightly sweet.

Excellent barbecue! Tender brisket, great pulled pork, awesome cole slaw. Stayed in Farmington for work for a couple weeks. Everyone on our crew is addicted! Would give five stars but on our first visit, we didn't know the routine and the people behind the counter were a bit standoffish even though I told them it was our first time and we didn't know the process. Wish they were open later than 8pm.

Good food! I would say this place is way better than Spare Rib Company. Serious Texas has good flavors and the meats are so tender and delicious! Would recommend the tacos and ribs!

I don't know if we got here on a really off day or what, but it was gross! My husband ordered the brisket... it was dry and black on the outside like they forgot about it while they were cooking it. I ordered the sausage and it was very overdone and I didn't care for their BBQ sauce, but was dipping my sausage in it anyway because it was so dry. Plus sides were: cheesy potatoes were good, bottled local beverages from Durango were good, and the service was pretty good, basically the only thing keeping them from a 2 star is the decent service.

Great food - delicious brisket (my favorite) and tasty pinto beans. Sauces are terrific. Staff are friendly & service is prompt. The only thing holding them back from five stars is they have no other vegetable sides - a drag when one is on the slow-carb diet. They do a big drive thru business, too, if you're in a hurry. This restaurant is owned by the same folks who opened the original STBBQ in Durango 5+ years ago.

We had been wanting good BBQ for quite a while, but we live in a VERY rural place. While in Farmington we decided to try Serious Texas BBQ. My expectations for a BBQ place in New Mexico we low. I have to admit I was pleasantly surprised! Between our family of four we had pulled pork, sliced pork, beef brisket and smoked sausage. All of it was very good. My personal favorite was the brisket. It had good smoke flavor and wasn't too dry. It was served with plain white bread. I also liked the sausage, but it was a little too spicy for my taste. There is a large bottle of BBQ sauce on each table. The sauce is a little too sweet for my liking, but my family liked it just fine. One of the best things about Serious Texas BBQ is all taxes are included in the price shown. Because we ordered a variety of items and shared we were able to have lunch for four for $20.50. Overall I gave Serious Texas BBQ 4 stars. The flavor of the BBQ was very good, but the sliced pork was a little dry. I think we will try it again sometime.

my first visit awhile back i order a combo platter dish so i'm not sure if they even have it anymore. the pork ribs were good. it was a little dry but the meet had some good seasoning and sauce was good. the brisket and sausage were great. i believe the coleslaw was good but not great. prices seem reasonable. the atmosphere was good and i'll go back and give this place another try. round 2 here i come.

Not bad if your in a pinch for BBQ. I get to travel quite a bit with my job and when I am out I look for three things. Steak, BBQ and Coffee. Serious Texas BBQ in Farmington, NM has very nice atmosphere for dining, however they have some issues with BBQ. Ribs are cooked to fall off the bone but are not moist. Brisket was dry also. Turkey was great nice smoke flavor but lets face it, when you want BBQ you want Ribs, Brisket and Pulled Pork. Pork was good, little dry but was good. I think the thing that hurt my food experience was the fact everything is precooked and sits in a warm steam table. Nothing I received was fresh, it was pretty much assembly line style. Also, all sauce I was given was a sweet vinegar based sauce. Not my favorite, but was decent. When I'm in Farmington will I visit again? Probably not, but don't let my review stop you. Great people, decent food, just not up to Old Jack's South Quality.
