I love their sweet pork anything. I just think it should come with a side of beans and rice and it would be perfect.

Yum! The tortillas are freshly made in front of you and they are so delicious! We had the fish tacos and sweet pork burrito, both very good and the price was right. A good stop!

I really like Costa Vida. I was a regular at the one in Lone Tree, Colorado before moving to Durango. I come to Farmington to shop once or twice a month and always eat here when I do. My favorite is the sweet pork...anything. Salad, enchiladas, tacos....I also love the tomatillo ranch dressing and get a side of that no matter what I order. I am allergic to gluten and almost everything on their menu is gluten free! The only exception is the flour tortillas, the Tres Leches Cake & the Key Lime Pie (all of which are MAGNIFICENT...for those of you who CAN eat gluten) Costa Vida folks: For what it's worth, you'll get 5 stars from me when you can get your corn tortillas more consistently thin (sometimes they are way too thick!) AND when you offer a gluten free dessert other than Flan.

We like to stop in to eat here on our drive to Utah, or if we are in the vicinity from Albuquerque. The food is good, however when comparing to it's rival, Café Rio, it comes in second. I like the wheat tortilla option they offer at Costa Vida. Worth going out of our way and through Farmington to eat here.

Great food made fresh right in front of you at a decent price point. Costa Vida has to be one of my favorite places to eat in Farmington. With its simple, straight forward menu and occasional seasonal items, CV gives me exactly what I want from Southwestern food: meat, veggies, and spices. I'm particularly partial to their loaded nachos! I usually skip the queso and just get grated mix. Once in their conveyor oven, the chips crisp and cheese melts... delicious! In terms of fast food, best place in F-town!

So my husband and I are from So.Cal- home of the real Mexican food. I have to say I was initially excited about a Mexican restaurant in New Mexico- my expectations were high. I was utterly mistaken. #1- No salsa bar #2- guacamole is served with a melon baller and if you want another melon ball size scoop, it's extra. #3- your choice of meat, but if you want steak (not carne asada), it's extra #4- burrito is actually chimichanga-ish. They put it through a toaster oven #5- spicy sauce is enchilada sauce, not salsa. I'm going to stop now. But in their favor- the people are super nice and the place is very clean. It's sad that even Philadelphia has better Mexican food than New Mexico-as reported by the local news! No Bueno!!!

Maybe there are better things to get, but my salad was awful----swimming in raspberry chipotle sauce and more like lettuce stew. Not sure i want to go back, but will post another review if I do

this place is very similar to cafe rio. we enjoyed lunch at 11:30am saturday morning. we ordered a chicken burrito, rasberry chipolte chicken salad and a kids quesadilla meal. they were all very good and so good we finished all our meals. the service was great and lots of tables to dine in. we plan on going back very soon.

I've heard my husband say that his company picked up burritos from Costa Vida for a safety meeting and that most of the attendees really disliked their meal. Some of my co-workers offered to pick up lunch for me from Costa Vida the other day. When it arrived, it looked awesome. It was a large tortilla filled with shredded beef and ranch beans with lettuce, tomato, and sour cream over the top with a smothering of what appeared to be green chili. I took a few bites expecting wonderfulness. I was sorely disappointed and have vowed not to eat there again. Maybe I have a jaded New Mexican expectation for flavor and spice, but this burrito had neither. The sauce was tasteless, as was the tortilla and beans. It looked so much better than it tasted. I don't understand how Costa Vida has stayed in business while its neighbor, Quizno's, closed its doors. Truly sad.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
