Casa Blanca is a lovely bed and breakfast, a real find in northeast New Mexico. Brak and I spent last night there, and we were surprised to find something so nice in such a small town. The complex has a main building with common areas, including the breakfast room, a large courtyard (and several smaller ones) and rooms or suites in separate buildings. We shared the Crown Point suite, which had a huge amount of living space, a gigantic bathroom with separate shower and whirlpool tub, and a kitchenette. Special call out: there were two luggage racks (why don't more hotels do this?). Breakfast was also quite good. We asked at the last minute if we could have breakfast 30 minutes earlier than scheduled, and they were happy to accommodate. The staff were friendly and helpful, especially with our late arrival and early departure. They served eggs, homemade country potatoes, bacon and toast for breakfast, and it was excellent. I'd have given Casa Blanca five solid stars, but I had one complaint: the bed was ridiculously soft, which made both Brak and I uncomfortable all night. I've had soft hotel room beds before, but this was beyond extreme. Plus, what's the deal with nearly a dozen pillows on the bed?

Really enjoyed our one night here on our road trip vacation. Huge room, with fridge and small kitchen, really nice bath, nicely furnished. The only gripe: the mattress was horrendous. They moved us from the room we'd originally reserved (this one was an upgrade we were told) because a new mattress was on order but had not yet arrived for that room. Hopefully this one was the next to be replaced. Was like falling into a box of tissues, beyond too soft. But everything else was great. We were shoving off early in the morning and requested an early breakfast, and when we walked in right at the appointed time, our breakfasts were being plated, and were perfect and delicious. Good wifi, which was appreciated because I was uploading tons of pictures every night of our trip. Would definitely stay again.

If you want attentive, friendly hosts, this is not the place for you. Our room was nice and comfortable. However, when we called the after hours number (the "host" leaves after 6 pm) because we were having trouble with the television, I received a message telling us they would call us back within 15 minutes. No call ever came. We went in for breakfast, where the lady at the desk was working on her computer. She did not look up or acknowledge our presence. This is a nice place, but treated like a hotel where the managers leave at 6pm.

Have been here twice in the past three years while visiting family in Farmington. Am amazed at the thoroughness of their hospitality. The breakfasts are hearty. Perhaps I give too many five stars reviews but as a place to stay with or without kids I cannot think of any better.

This place is just great. We arrived after a long drive, and found it right in the middle of the city of Farmington NM, which is a cute working class town. We explored the town a little bit, and I must admit, there is a lot more in the area than meets the eye. If you just drive through and see the fast food places, and budget hotel chains, you are missing the good stuff. There is a lot of local charm if you give it a deeper look. We arrived in the early afternoon, and they our room ready to go. We were in the main house in the suite upstairs. It had a great sun room for reading, coffee & creamer in the fridge, as well as snacks ready to go with tea, hot chocolate, popcorn, etc. The room was spacious, a desk, king size bed, couch, a couple of sitting chairs, a full size closet, big bathroom.....plus the sun room as our area where we could hang out privately without being in our bedroom. The bed was comfortable, and I loved that the linens, towels and robes were obviously of good quality, and didn't smell weird like in a regular hotel. These smelled like they were washed with tide, and Downy fabric softener, so it not only felt very homely, but smelled like home. When we showed up, the woman checking us in showed us a quick tour of the house, telling us a little bit about the history of Farmington and the history of the home itself. They have really taken great pains to keep the history of the home intact, and bring the bring the beautiful parts of it to life. That does mean a little of it is dated ( I have not seen that color sink for....well.....20+ years), but it was all really well taken care of, greatly maintained, and to me really added to the charm of the place rather than feeling like it was out of date or old. It just made it really charming that they were keeping the feeling and history of the house. In the morning, breakfast was amazing. Fresh fruit, frittata, home made jam, toast, yogurt, cereal, juice, lots of fresh coffee, tea, milk, granola.....and many things I'm sure I'm forgetting. We were heading out directly, and they were kind enough to brew an extra pot of coffee for us to fill our travel mugs and keep us going along the road. If you are stopping off anywhere in northern NM, I would suggest stopping here, rather than one of the chain places. The prices may be a little bit more than one of the chain places, but not much more at all when you look at what you get, and the quality of rest staying at a place that feel like home.
