This is the best Thai restaurant in Farmington and it isn't even close! What? You say that this is the *only* Thai restaurant in Farmington? OK, well, then I'll say that Boon's is better than any of the Thai restaurants I have visited in Denver too. Is that better? I've been to Boons with self-professed Thai food snobs and they also agree that it is very good, and better than most Thai in Denver. The food is pretty darned good, the various sauces always have good flavor, they add plenty of vegetables and the proportion of protein, noodles/rice, and vegetables is in balance. They have various hot sauces at the table to compliment your meal. The heat varies from sauce to sauce, they all have nice flavor. My friend said that the Thai iced tea was very good. I try to visit Boon's each time I travel to Farmington and I've always been very pleased with the food. Interior of the restaurant is "understated" and that's OK. Some cool giant fans with scenes on them hanging from the wall. The owner seems really nice. Especially worthy to note that you can get vegetarian-friendly (and I think GF, too) dishes. Boon's is great dining option for healthy and diet-friendly meals.

Came here while in the area for work. Upon entering, I was greeted and attended to. There were so many wonderful options and I went with the mango curry with chicken. It was fabulous! I enjoyed the half of fresh mango that was included. The portion was sizable. I couldn't finish everything and could have taken half of it home. Will be back!

Good food and variety, plating and general aesthetics leave something to be desired. The ambiance of the place seems to be the biggest concern. It's more a hole in the wall with tables than a great place to sit down. The food is good, but definitely a bit too casual for the quality and price.

Surprisingly good Thai food in Farmington! Stopped by for lunch around 11:30 and there were a few people seated already, but it wasn't too crowded. After 12 though it got super crowded though so be aware of the lunch rush! We ordered the pad thai and the lotus heaven to share and I ordered a Thai iced tea because I couldn't resist ;) Our waiter was attentive and very nice, he brought us extra napkins, gave us our drinks right away and checked in once in awhile to make sure we had everything we needed. The food took a reasonable amount of time to come out but everything was quite good. The pad thai was a bit stickier and saucier than I'm used to but the flavor was tasty, and it was great that they separated the toppings (peanuts, cabbage) instead of mixing it all in. The lotus heaven was an interesting dish but it WAS spicy so be careful! The Thai iced tea was delicious but the serving was overwhelmingly huge; guess it was more bang for your buck. I'd come back here when I'm in town because they have a great selection of items and the food is tasty! Beware of the pesky flies that will circle when your food arrives though (the waiter said they accidentally left the door open too long).

A surprisingly delicious Thai food option in a part of the state with limited options. The food reminds me of home-style food: a good blend of flavors without overwhelming grease or salt. A worthy sit in option or take out for the weary traveler. My girl were driving from Texas to Utah and decided to stay the night at in Farmington for the night. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. We had the Cashew Chicken and the Basil fried rice. The basil flavor was blended well with food without being overwhelmed by grease, sugar, or salt. The take out only took about 10 minutes for the food to be ready. The staff was friendly. They have been cooking in Farmington for 9 years. The quantity was less than I expected. But then, I'm from Texas and I'm used to Texas-sized portions.

I first entered Boons Family Thai BBQ while conquering up images of my sixteen year old self guzzling Boons Farm Strawberry Hill. Thankfully, the food is much better than that. Much, much better. I've enjoyed this restaurant on several occasions now, and some dishes are good while others are outstanding: Pad Thai - This is a standard good Pad Thai. Massaman Curry - Simultaneously spicy and tangy. Best Massaman Curry I ever had. Lotus Heaven - This spicy chicken dish is a stand-out and the restaurant's signature dish. Tom Guy - good soup, excellent presentation. One bummer about this restaurant is that they charge an extra $2 if you want rice with your meal. This bumps the prices of each dish up by $2, and makes it a bit on the expensive side. Considering I can get an entire bottle of Strawberry Hill for $2, it makes me think twice about ordering rice. Aside from the good food, one thing I enjoy about this establishment is their back entrance and parking lot. I always feel like a bit of a mob boss or VIP when I enter a business through the hidden corridor.

Pretty damn good. I had the Lotas chicken plate. They rated it at 2 out of 5 spicy. Pretty accurate.

At least 4 stars.... :). Heat factor was spot on....out of 5. 4 was perfect for me.... I like it spicy so I can feel it but not so much where I cant taste my food. I had Pad Thai-- amazing. Just enough sauce, noodles were not mushy, sprouts were just crunchy enough. Also tried the Pad Prik... The veggies were cooked al debate and the sauce was delish. This was a recommendation from the Best Buy employees and Chili's bar staff. So thank you-- it was a very pleasant and tasteful find in Farmington.

My husband and I came on a super busy night, but we didn't have to wait very long and the service was great! We lived in Japan for almost 4 years, so my expectations were high! (I've had some great Thai food over the years). I thought everything we ordered tasted excellent! Portions were perfectly sized, and the presentation was very nice. I would highly recommend checking it out!

Decided to try a couple of dishes to go we tried PadThai noodles, Lotus heaven , Pad Ke Meo and noodle roll. The lotus heaven was spicy and the rice was a perfect combination . The Pad Thai noodles were delicious and had a unique flavor and the shrimp was perfectly done. The pad Ke Meo had a distinct flavor and the carrots added to the dish. The noodle roll on the other hand was a sticky mess but i would give it another try this time in house. Overall it was a great first and I think next time I'll have to try the other dishes to eat in.

We ordered Red Curry, Basil Stir-Fried Rice, and a Custard-Sticky Rice dessert, and the food and service were top notch. My only regret is that I don't live in the area and won't be able to visit regularly.

Excellent Thai food. This place could hold its own anywhere; it's really that good. The green curry is sublime.

i do not presume to be a thai food expert. actually, this was my first time ever in any type of thai establishment. that being said i had a good experience at boons family thai. we at 8 pm on july 14. we ordered the crispy orange chicken. we thought it tasted great! the portion size was smaller than expected but great. the orange sauce and diced orange was very strong. we also ordered sweet mango and black sticky rice with coconut cream for dessert. my wife loved it! i thought it was a different kinda good. for soda drinkers they offer free refills. since we shared a plate our meal was $22. the service was good. there was one server for about 4-5 tables while we were there. not the best service but good enough. the gentlemen serving our table was very nice and helpful. it just took some additional time to get his attention and our needs met. overall, it was a good experience and i would go back again to try different dishes.

Best Thai ever......really. These people must not get out of Farmington. For dining out this town is one of the worst places I've been to. That said this place is still good enough. If you find your self stuck in this hole this may be one of only a handful of places I would recommend. Cheers!

Went for lunch with a group and it wasn't terribly busy but for some reason only half the group got their meals. The others waited about 20 minutes and the whole order went in at the same time. In general, my meal was good. Would go back and try a few other things on menu. Had the Tom Kha soup...huge portion, enough to share with at least 2 people!

I have been eating here for years and Boon's is by far my favorite restaurant for miles! It is the first place I recommend to out of town guests and I tell everyone I know to eat there. Every single dish they serve is so delicately crafted to incorporate the freshest ingredients with the most flavorful spices. The meat is always cooked to perfection and they serve tofu as an option with nearly every dish! I've never experienced a menu so accommodating to food allergies before Boon's. They understand that some people just can't eat certain things. The owners make a point to come out to say hello which is nice, and the cozy little restaurant is very attractively decorated. I always feel comfortable eating here because its always very clean, I find that extremely important. Lunchtime is so busy but make no mistake, your food will still come out in a timely manner. Although, I still prefer to come for dinner just for the one on one I get with the servers. What to order? Try something that highlights the magnificent flavors of Thailand that makes Boon's so special. I suggest you get the Red Curry with Salmon! Craving some noodles? Try the Pad Ke Mao! Want something lighter? Order the Larp! It doesn't matter which dinner you order, they're all big enough to share with another and so delicious you'll want them again and again. What I would change: Farmington is so culture starved, I wish Boon's would force feed me some Thai phrases I could learn and use myself. things like "Hello and welcome!" I'm not a huge fan of the ceilings being so high in a restaurant or the use of fluorescent lighting where the tables are. If they could find a unique way to hide the ceiling and incorporate some distinctive lighting options, I feel it would add some class and sophistication. I wish the rice came free with all non noodle dishes. I don't like paying extra for rice, I feel it should come complimentary. Eat at Boon's! Its so worth it!!

One of my favorite Thai restaurants of all time. Great service, clean restaurant and some of the tastiest Thai dishes the United States can offer, plus this place is in Farmington of all places. I've been traveling to the Four Corners market for almost 2 years now and just found this place, but will become a regular... Start with the Noodle Rolls (Salad Rolls), Su Mai (Pork Dumplings) and either the Lotus Heaven or Hawaii Delight for your main course. I highly, highly recommend this place. Very impressed...

I've been craving Thai/Asian food for some time and eating here pretty much hit the spot. I had the Pad Thai which was good especially because it had jumbo shrimp. I asked for level 5 spiciness, which wasn't spicy at all, so I think I'll go higher next time. I asked which curry was good, and the server recommended the Massaman curry which had chicken, potatoes, carrots, onions and peanuts. The flavor was especially rich from the coconut milk, but the potatoes and carrots could've been a little more tender. I wasn't expecting peanuts, but it was a nice touch. I had a Thai ice tea to go; it was nothing to write home about but was refreshing. The service was great; they were extremely friendly. The food came out very quick, but I was the only customer in the restaurant. I'd definitely be back for more especially because they have coupons, so make sure you check their website for that!

Boon's Thai is not the best Thai restaurant of all time - not by a long shot. It is, however, the best Thai restaurant in the Farmington area and right up there on the list of my favorite places to eat in Farmington. The food is delicious, ingredients seem fresh, and I get the impression that the cook(s) enjoy bringing legitimate Thai food to the black hole of food that is Farmington. The Pad Thai is exactly how Pad Thai should be in my humble opinion. Sweet, spicy, shrimpy, and startlingly scrumptious. Wonton Soup = the cure for the common cold. Panang Curry = it's sexy and it knows it. That being said, I'm giving Boon's 4 stars for a few reasons. First and foremost: rice does not come with your meal. Even with curry you pay extra for rice. Who does that!? Also, the ambiance is pretty bad: TVs are always tuned into cooking shows, the "music" sounds like a Teletubby with hiccups playing hopscotch on a piano, and sitting at a booth seat opens you up to the possibility of falling deeper into the earth than Alice in Wonderland. While annoying, these things do not keep me from being a regular at Boon's and enjoying some of the best food Farmington has to offer.

Boons is a nice small family owned business that has good Thai food. My colleague and I were recommended to try it by our hotel front desk. We were not disappointed. They had good service and good food!

Great food on main street. Parking is a little tough, but the food is really good. 1-5 heat scale. I got 3.5 pad Thai chicken. Oh so good. Sweating just a little. Helped warm me up dealing with 40 degree temperatures. Didn't really care for the satay peanut sauce. . .tasted Luke peanut butter.

What a gem in Farmington! We had a party of 7 and loved it. They were swamped on this particular friday so it was a bit slow but the food was great! The yellow curry was delicious. The moon cakes as others have said are good. Cold beers and super noodle dishes. A great menu to explore.

Well, at least the food came out quick. It was bustling during lunch, and while the portion was generous, the pad kee mao was very mediocre--extremely greasy with nothing notable about its flavor. It did provide for a carbo load with no hint of an MSG reaction, which was the least I could ask for; luckily it wasn't a total bomb, because this may be the only Thai restaurant for miles. If you sign up on their website to be placed on their mailing list, they send out coupons every so often. However, they sent out a coupon that had already expired the previous month, and I received no response when questioned about it.

We landed here one evening for dinner. The place is quite big with lots of seating but was almost empty on a Saturday evening. The ambiance of the place is okay, I just wish they had switched off the television. Do not have too much expectation of good thai food here. Their Moon Cakes is AWESOME!! We were really tempted to order another plate. For the main course we had their orange chicken and another chicken dish(whose name I barely remember). The quantities served were huge and we were struggling to finish it off. The dishes seemed like they were cooked in a hurry without any care for the balance of the spices/ curry/ meat. Beware that the orange chicken is nothing like the ones you might have tasted at Panda Express. The orange sauce is a bit too much for the chicken, and the overall taste is somewhat tangy and sweet. If you are fond of spicy food, then you should definitely skip this option. The thai iced tea was okay, I just wish they served them with the traditional tapioca balls. I would give this place: 2 stars - for the ambiance 3 stars - for the service 3 stars - for the food If you are specifically in mood for Thai food, you should definitely visit this place(there are very few choices in Farmington after all). But if you have an alternative then please decide to go there.

The wait was a little slower than a typical restaurant, but the quality and portion size was worth the price. It may not look like a big place, but the food was really tasty.

Schizo. The moon cake appetizer and chicken green curry were quite good, but the pad something or other with bean thread noodles various vege and shrimp was utterly flavorless. In fact it was negative flavor and sucked flavor right out of my mouth. I tried doping it it up to no avail. Inedible. I sent it back to the kitchen. I NEVER send food back. That is how bad it was. No offer to sub another dish or take it off our bill. I flipped a polite bitch and they finally took it off our bill. Bottom line? Don't bother, go to Denny's if you are just passing through town.

We were driving back home and we stopped in Farmington for the night and decided to have dinner here. The place was pretty big, but we were the only ones there when we came. They have 2 televisions switched to the cooking channel, which was good for me because I love that channel! Anyway, the Siam Catfish was so delish! We had the Basil Fried Rice too, and I loved it as well! The Eggplant dish was just okay. The lady who took our orders and delivered our food was nice. I guess it can be a good thing to be by ourselves there because we had all her attention. :)

Love Boon's!!! Great Food and Great Service. I always enjoy the curry you can tell that all of the vegetables are hand cut. Truthfully I don't always order dessert but if I do I get the F.B.I. it will change your life for the better. Tip, order it when your food arrives it takes a while but is worth every bite. Thanks Boon's you Rock!

I use to work in Farmington and ate at Boon's on a regular basis. The orange chicken is phenomenal! Every time I'm in the area, I choose to eat here. Not only is the food great, the service is also. So glad I was introduced to this place almost 2 years ago!
