Diabetics at Pizza Hut

Pizza is neither a great meal nor the worst for diabetes. All you need is some fact check and monitoring while ordering your pizza. Diabetics can opt for thin crust or skinny pizza at Pizza Hut and avoid the cheese topping to cut down on the excess fat and sodium. If you have diabetes, then ensure to check your portion size when you order a pizza. One or max. two slices are enough. You can also avoid meat if possible and go for wings as a meat option.

Foods to Avoid at Pizza Hut for Diabetics:

You must avoid Meat Lovers Pizza with Original Pan Crust as it contains over 1000mg sodium and will add 470 calories in your meal. You should also skip Super Supreme Pizza Large Original Pan Slice which is too high in sodium and fat. Chicken wings are often tempting but you must control and restrict yourself from ordering Traditional Honey BBQ Bone-in Wings as it can add up to your sugar levels if you eat too many. On average, a person orders or consumes six chicken wings pieces in a day.

Sides must be avoided at all costs especially if it's Bacon Cheddar Fries with Ranch Dipping Cup for its high sodium content. You must also avoid New York Style Cheesecake with Applesauce as dessert as one slice of this dessert item contains 86g sugar. Pizza Hut also offers other Italian dishes such as Pasta. However, you must skip Spaghetti with Meat Sauce and Meatballs and Garlic Bread as it is too high in sodium and sugar.

Pizza Barn is the best pizza in the Albuquerque and surrounding area! We live in Abq but make a point to drive out to Edgewood at least every other week to Pizza Barn. I think their prices are comparable to Dion's, Pizza hut, Mario's and a few others in the metro area. They have the most delicious hot wings and their breadsticks are the size of a large pizza. The marinara sauce is fresh made and absolutely delicious. They have a variety of beer to choose from as well as fountain drinks. The staff is always courteous, friendly and helpful. I love the atmosphere and decor - small town/farmer friendly. If you haven't taken the time to drive out to Edgewood to Pizza Barn, I highly recommend you do! p.s. the jalapenos: HOT!!!!!!!!

Building is old but has its own Charm about it! Smells wonderful when you walk inside! It's not white glove clear, but it's clean! Has AC running, they keep it cool! Parking is free! 22 different draft beer 5 big screen tvs The prices are high! The pizza is good but not amazing or the best pizza ever! The chicken wings are good! Wanted to try something new! But I wouldn't put this place on my list to repeat!

We were out in Edgewood looking a homes and decided to try this local pizza place for lunch. The décor is cute, they even have a pay phone! The girls at the counter were very friendly. We ordered the 14 inch Route 66 with green chile on a third (my husband doesn't like spicy stuff). We enjoyed the pizza very much, we thought it could use a little extra sauce, but still very good. They also have an enclosed bar area that might be nice for a party. If you are in Edgewood, give them a try.

I'm not gonna lie. The pizza here is expensive. BUT... OH MY GOD is it good. BOTH my girlfriend and I agreed that it might be the best pizza we've had in the last few years. Seriously, it's amazing! I don't know how else to describe it. We had about 1/3 of the huge pizza leftover (thank god cuz who doesn't love pizza leftovers!?!) and they were just as good reheated the next day. The staff seems to be mostly high school aged (and just post-high school aged) girls who were all very nice. The interior is a semi-cabin-y feel and comfortable to be in. All in all I liked everything about this place and loved their food. If the prices were lower it would be nice, but then as stated the pizzas are so good that in my mind it's acceptable for such yumminess. We DEFINITELY will be back!!! ... Hopefully they'll put out some coupons or something specials of some sort so that visit will be more frequent than once or twice a month only. Mmmmmmm.

I wish there was a pizza barn in CA, when visiting friends in NM they told me we were going to go to the pizza barn for lunch and I had no idea what to expect. We shared a large pizza and salad, the pizza takes a while to cook but you can't rush quality. The crust was crunchy in all the right places, the cheese was nice and gooey and they weren't stingy with the toppings. Everyone that worked there was super friendly and helpful, I wouldn't mind making a pit stop for some pizza barn if I'm ever traveling through again.

Yep...! It was that good. Toppings were fresh, dough made in house, even the salads were big an fresh.

Stopped for lunch on the way to Phoenix and was pleasantly surprised. The pizza was expensive but it was done quickly and was perfect. We ordered the supreme which came complete with all fresh vegetables and meat. The crust was crisp and perfectly proportioned. The staff was nice and the place was well light and clean. What else could you ask for?

The saying you get what you pay for is true here. The pizza is more expensive, but is made to order, and fresh. We have been customers here for years, and have watched the menu grow, and happy with the variety of selections offered. Eat in, or order out, it's worth the extra money!

We live in Albuquerque and rarely venture away for dinner. However we stumbled upon this place while running an errand that took us out to Edgewood. After reading all the great reviews we decided to try it and we will definitely go back! Their pizza is amazing and the cinnamon sticks were worth it. You get a whole pizza pan of dough covered in cinnamon and icing! For the 2 of us (large pizza, cinna sticks, and 2 beers) it was $41. Although we did have enough leftovers for another full meal.

Pizza Barn is one of those little local establishments that used to be ubiquitous in small-town America but kind of became a rarity after the 1980s. It's nice to find a little shop like this still open, and doing what they do very well. Pizza Barn is all about pizza (imagine that!), with calzones and salads also being represented. Everything seems to be baked fresh, so it might take a little longer to get your grub, but it'll be hot out of the oven when it does show up at your table. They've got beers on tap, which is a very nice compliment to the pizza they serve. Right now they're in the midst of renovating the outdoor space, which will make it more functional during the winter months. I can't wait to see what they do, and I can't wait to get in here for some more pizza!

Excellent pizza! Stopped in during a cross country trip for lunch. The staff were super friendly and helpful. The pizza was perfect, the crust was light and crispy. It makes me wish I lived nearby....

If you blink, you will miss the i-40 exit to Edgewood NM and that would be sad because you will have also missed the opportunity to enjoy the Pizza at the Pizza Barn. It's been rumored that I have eaten my fair share of pizza - That being said, I can speak from authority that the pizza here ranks in the top 3 pizza's that I have ever eaten. The restaurant it self is clean and the decor fits the name Pizza Barn - but it all works. The staff is fast moving and focused on getting your pizza out fast and hot. Price for a large pizza with breadsticks and drinks - under $30 (Good Value - you will have plenty of left-overs) The Pizza Barn is well worth stopping in Edgewood NM for.

Pizza Barn was special from the moment we walked in. The server Audra was so welcoming and explained the menu and recommended the salad to go along with the pizza and boy was she right. The salad was the freshest possible and the pizza is very uniquely fresh and delicious. The whole staff was like family and treated us the same. We would go out of our way to eat there again!

We stopped on our way from Fort Worth, TX to the Grand Canyon. The food was amazing. We had the green chile breadsticks, breaded zucchini and a pepperoni and jalapeño calzone. It was all fantastic.

Pizza barn serves some of the best pizza you can get, and the service is excellent! The owner is friendly, the restaurant is clean, and this is all around a great restaurant! They don't deliver, so you will have to pick it up, or call Domino's.

We were craving pizza while on a long drive on the I-40. We exited and came upon this place-- and it definitely satisfied our pizza craving! The prices are decent. The decor is fun. The people are nice and friendly. They also have a lot of different beers on tap. We got a garden salad with Greek dressing--- it was ok, nothing special. Then we got the buffalo chicken pizza-- it was awesome! I really liked it-- nice big chunks of chicken, lots of buffalo sauce and little bits of celery- so good! And you can tell they use fresh ingredients and make it when you order it. The only thing I didn't like was that their water tasted gross-- almost like pool water. But overall-- a good spot for good pizza.

  • Charles K.

Best Pizza you will ever try, this place is just hands down excellent (Full of Gluten). Great service, and the owners must be very passionate about their company because I have never had bad service. Prices are a little high, but the pizza is worth the price, you get what you pay for. ALSO ONE MAJOR PROBLEM I HAVE WITH THIS FACILITY IS THE WATER IS NOT UP TO DRINKING STANDARDS, MUCH LIKE EVERY RESTAURANT IN EDGEWOOD, N.M.

On the dusty trail after a pizza cowboy... this is the only place in town with a liquor license. We went for a quick bite to eat. Got the hot and spicy wings. Seven "flats" and two "drummettes" in a small serving. The wings were not huge but they had been marinated in hot sauce and then put in the pizza oven. I wouldn't expect such yummy wings in such an obscure location. I wish I could have those wings now! Hot, spicy, finger food... oh, and, the pizza cowboy seemed to have hired someone over the age of 21 (maybe so he could get a night off?) so perhaps I'll go back in three years and try to get another glimpse of the cowboy framed by the glow from the pizza oven...

Decent pizza. Prices are about right. Service is friendly. Salad was lame, plastic container, one tomato, two small dressing cups.
