The food was great and despite being kind of a hole-in-the-wall place we were supposed how clean it was, I half suspected I would drive away after pulling up but my friend swore to me. And it was, the food was to die for, and I go about twice a month now. They have crab cream cheese won tons! My favorite I haven't been able to find since moving to NM. The staff is friendly and welcoming however I felt our waiter could've paid better attention to us I had to flag him down twice he was chit chatting with his friends, but he'll learn, was reflected in his tips. I waited for 20 years. My biggest complaint and I hope the owners see this and take note, there is a really loud piece of machinery in the kitchen that I can only describe as an earthquake noise. It takes away from dinner and those conversations we are trying to shout over it, every few minutes.

After my scary incident at the last Chinese food restaurant (see my profile) I had to get some authentic Chinese food while in the ABQ. We drove by and noticed the sign "YUMMI HOUSE", turned around, and ventured inside. Looking around I said, "This is a cute place ... and clean." We were seated by a friendly hostess. Ordered some crispy noodles for the baby and glanced at the lunch menu. I wanted some good Chinese so I requested the extended dinner menu. My aunt ordered the Egg Foo Yung. I ordered the Kung Pao Chicken, Combination Fried Rice (beef, chicken, and shrimp), and Beef Lo Mein. YUMMY! Oops ... I mean YUMMI! Yes, I was in desperate need of "authentic" Chinese food. It was like heaven to my palate. The beef in the Beef Lo Mein was the same beef in the combination fried rice. I took a bite of the beef and fell in love. I do not know what they marinate the beef in but it was SO GOOD! So good that ordered an extra Beef Lo Mein to-go. I told my aunt, "I have to load up. I don't know when I'll be having "authentic" Chinese food again. It may be a while (concerned look)." Then the cook stepped out to talk to the guest at one of the table in front of us. Probably regulars. I said to my auntie, "LOOK! Even the cook is Chinese." She chuckled. Food was excellent. Even the baby (22 mths) ate more than she normally eats. When we returned home I told the baby's mother, "The baby had "authentic" Chinese food today so if you take her to that "other" place (see my profile) don't be too disturbed if she takes the food out and throws it on the wall."

Meh. It was ok. Based on Matthew V's scale, I would call it bad good. Fried rice, moo shoo, beef & broccoli, and potstickers were all uninspired. Bummed we still haven't found great Chinese food in ABQ.

I would give 2.5 stars. We are visiting from outside ABQ and have lived in all the big cities such as LA, SF, NYC, and Toronto. We tried this place based on the recommendation of a colleague cross-checked with reviews on Yelp. As someone else pointed out, this is Chinese-Korean style cooking, not Cantonese or Szechuan. Chinese-Korean style tza-jian mien is "black" sauce. Sweet and sour dishes are "white" sauce with cabbage/carrots and not "red" sauce with onions/bell peppers. My wife's family is used to this style of cooking and compared to similar style in LA, the food is a bit of a disappointment. Maybe I just had unrealistic expectations for Asian food in ABQ. The noodle dishes we tried were passable. I tried the salt and pepper fish fillet and got the feeling that they minced up the fish. I could not see any fish fillet under the heavy coat of doughy batter. All the other proteins we ordered (chicken and beef) were fried in the same batter. I thought that the sauces were tasty enough for Chinese-Korean cooking but not worthy of 5 stars that others were giving. I agree with others that the place is clean and the service was friendly.

At first glance, this place looks like a hole in a wall. But once me and my wife got our food, we knew that we made a great choice. The food was really good, and the service was great. Will try again.

Small little place tucked in a little shopping strip on Eubank and Constitution. Always had great service, prices are cheap, and food is delish!! Also, it's the only other place we've found 'sizzling rice soup' other than in Los Angeles. Can't tell you how good this stuff is. I want some now just thinking about it....

According to the husband, we've found our new Chinese place. I was thrilled that they had sizzling rice soup.......oh how I've missed that soup! I could eat it everyday, and wish I could. The only thing I didn't like about the soup were the water chestnuts....they weren't very crunchy, which weirded me out a bit. The rest of the soup was divine. Large pieces of meat including whole shrimp...YUM! The egg rolls were more on par with spring rolls and really didn't have a lot of flavor. But I'm sure I'll live..... The beef w/garlic sauce was so freaking good! So good. We ordered sweet and sour chicken and it was your standard sweet and sour chicken that you would get pretty much anywhere, no surprises there. Tasted good to us. The house fried rice was very flavorful as well.....my husband loved the fact that it had ample scrambled egg in it. It was also chock a bock full of various meat....oh yeah! The husband also really liked the little "caddy O'condiments" which was brought to the table. I'm a little iffy on it though. It had 3 containers...one with sweet and sour (maybe called duck sauce?), one with the nuclear mustard, and another with a salsa type sauce which he went nuts over. I'm iffy about it because 1) How many other people used this particular caddy? 2) What kind of scuzz did they leave on it? and 3) Is it refrigerated at all? I just feel more comfortable having them bring out the tiny bowls with just enough for the appetizers....a single serving so to speak. Sorry, that's just the stuff I think about :( They also didn't have fried won-tons, which I found weird. They had won-ton soup...... Overall, it was pretty good...."yummi" even. The hubs says we'll be back.

If you want great Chinese food this is the place to go. They have awesome spicy chicken curry, you can have it extra hot which I prefer. The food is made fresh, not a place where the food has been setting.

This is the best Chinese restaurant in ABQ. Not only just serving the Americanized Chinese food, but also they provide the Real Chinese, and Korean Chinese food on your request. Just ask the server for what you expect and explain how it tastes like. The chef is very experienced so that he will actualize your expectation.

My wife and I have been coming here once a week for the last four years and this is our favorite Chinese Restaurant. Carol and Jimmy run one heck of an awesome place. The food is fresh and full of flavor. They do at times have some off menu items, all you have to do is ask. Staff is very friendly and full of recommendations. Over the years I can say that I have had the entire menus (Chinese and Korean) and everything is delicious. The only request that I could make to Carol and Jimmy is to make the "spicy" foods more spicy as I love the little red chilies. The hot mustard will take your breath away. Keep up the awesome job!

Very good Chinese for ABQ. The lunch menu is lacking and the wait staff could be a little better. On the plus side, you get a good sized meal with some extras for a reasonable price.

This places awesome! Little hole in the wall but the food is great. The service is hit or miss sometimes but I eat here once a week, take out or dine it. Sizzling rice soup is great!

The lunch menu was very inexpensive. But the food was anything but yummy. The sweet and sour chicken consisted of deep fried breading with a hint of chicken with sweet and sour sause warmed up and dumped on top.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
