Diabetics at Village Inn

Village Inn is a tough place for diabetics, and you must be extra cautious while ordering food at the Village Inn, especially if you're a diabetic. The food items low in sodium are high in sugar or cholesterol at Village Inn which makes it difficult for diabetics to choose the right food at the diner.

Foods to Avoid at Village Inn for Diabetics

Village Inn offers very few items edible for diabetics without any threat. You can avoid sandwiches and burgers at Village Inn and try the light breakfast items on the menu. You must also skip the shakes as well as other juices from the beverage menu. Almost all the dinner items on the menu are high in sodium except Grilled Tilapia and 6 oz. Top Sirloin & Toast. Avoid Soup bowls and opt for cups instead at Village Inn.

Free wifi! Open 24 hrs!!! Was a perfect place to kill some time between flights at 2am! We had the veggie omelet and it was awesome! ( we added avocado and spinach ;)) we were able to walk from the airport down to the restaurant within 15 min. Customer service was friendly, pies looked amazing however we were too full to try. This location was much nicer than ones I have been to in the past. Seems like a really nice area.

Just like all the Village Inn's I have visited across the country, from Albuquerque to Virginia Beach, the food is Meh...You can count on a fair amount of grease or excessive butter in cooking the breakfast plates, a delay on either receiving your drinks or meal and OK service and if it were my choice I wouldn't go there but unfortunately there are those times I must. This particular restaurant had poor service impeding on my flight out so I instead of the 3 Stars Village Inn's unusually receive I have to give this one 2. Still it was clean and well located making business consistent so I doubt there'll be much change. Next time I'll pay the airport tax and eat breakfast with Sunport Airport.

We stopped here on accident to avoid being washed away by a summer rain storm on our way back to CA. The chicken pot pie was excellent as was the chicken avocado sandwich. Even the side salad and fries were good. The hostess and servers had a great attitude. Chasidy, our waitress, was right on top of things. Oh, and the unsweetened ice tea was the best in 3 states. Wednesday was free slice of pie day, yum!

If you want bad service, food so cold they serve you congealed gravy and waitresses loudly complaining about how bad their day is, the VI is the place for you!

Well it is a pancake house really. The meals are all good, no better or worse than Denny's or IHOP. But the PIE, that is why you eat here. The PIE is great. My grandparents would always go to Village Inn for pie as long as I could remember. Although they are gone now, whenever I am traveling and come across a Village Inn, I stop in for a slice of pie.

Great place, friendly staff. They don't mind that we mooch off their wifi and stay for 3 plus hours at a time! The food is above average, and of course a massive pie selection. We frequent here multiple times a week!

Yeah, it's pretty much IHOP. Imagine how pissed I was after eating here then walking outside and noticing the Waffle House RIGHT NEXT DOOR. Dammit.

It's pretty much like IHOP, although bigger. The decor is a little tired but I'm not looking for a Michelin 3 star here. Breakfast is served all day. The pies are good. Plenty of parking. Just down the road and mucho convenient to Albuquerque's airport, the Sunport. The service here was nice and the food came quickly. They take credit cards - MC, Visa, Discover, and I think Amex.

If you're staying in one of the hotels near the airport, then Village Inn might be one of the only things open that is nearby at certain hours of the night. Tried the pancakes, which were tasty. Rest of people in the group liked their food. Clearly, it is not gourmet, but if you're starving then the patty melt and the sandwiches will do the trick. Pie was rich, but good to share.

keep on driving.... My gf and I stopped here after a concert; Big Mistake.... From the Terrible service to the Cold Greasy gravy and eggs this place is just plane lousy. I drank an entire pot of coffee before my gf got her hot chocolate, that we had to repeatedly ask for. Her grease gravy (suppose to be sausage) was cold and thick as though it were last weeks left over. Even the scrambled eggs must have sat around waiting to be claimed. The incompetent waiter tried to blame the service and food on being busy at closing (5 of 30 tables occupied), accept they are open 24hrs. He was just to busy chatting with friends to be bothered with customers. I can go on, but you get the idea. After some appropriate words, they did however remove the uneaten food and drink from the bill, but only after complaining to the manager. Gee, how nice of them. I do understand they have good pies, however I won't find out, because I won't be returning to this place. So, if you like bad service and cold, old food, this is the place for you.

I recently had my first encounter with village inn and can happily say it wont be my last. The service was on point our server was friendly and informative without been up on our face and that for me is perfect service. The food came out hot and fresh tasting, I had the everything skillet and it was so good and had everything I enjoy in a good breakfast. If I had to find fault it would be with the coffee - yes the coffee wasn't that great but it wouldn't put me off returning again. We will be back.

What a fantastic breakfast! This is not the dated dingy Village Inn I remember from my youth. They have definitely gotten a bright, contemporary facelift! I also don't ever remember the food being this good and having healthy options is such a plus! I had the egg white mediterranean omelette w/artichokes, spinach, feta, tomato and topped w/avocado. It came w/a side of low fat vanilla yogurt w/granola and honey and three multi-grain pancakes that were out of this world (and I am not a pancake fan)! I added strawberries & bananas, which were served super fresh. Our waitress, Shannon, was very nice and attentive. My only complaint would be the coffee was a little weak and watered down, but you do get your own coffee carafe at the table, which is nice so you don't have to hunt down your waitress every time you need a refill. Also, the free wifi was a bfast side as well! So, nicely done VI, you have a new fan!

Great waiting staff, most managers are competant, usually one of my favorite Village Inns in town. Although last trip was quite appalling and down right disgusting. I found ants in my crepe which was addressed appropriately by the waitress but the assistant manager was not customer friendly and basically told me that I was lying about seeing ants. Never going back to Village Inn again.
